Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 24-7 Podcast.
What an out what an outright laugher, folks.
It's an outright laugher.
Obama's got a column in the Wall Street Journal today about he's gonna review all these regulations out there, and he's gonna get rid of all these regulations that are obstacles to business.
If he meant it, he would join us in repealing his health care bill.
You can't find a greater collection of harmful regulations.
Maybe he could learn something from the Chicons.
You know, Chairman uh Chairman Hu Xian Tao.
I is in town.
Big uh Chinese dinner had some fried rice for lunch today as a uh uh as a way of uh chicken with broccoli and some fried rice.
Restaurant recipe.
Uh as a way to sh because I knew I'm not gonna be invited to the state dinner.
So I got my vicarious thrill with a uh Chinese uh uh lunch, but maybe Hujintao can give Obama some advice on how to get rid of excessive regulations.
I mean, the Chicons probably don't even have any regulations written down.
Uh when a bureaucrat does something over the years that's uh excessive, uh a little over the top, but just put him up against the wall and shoot him.
Saves a lot of paperwork and a lot of time.
Don't even mess with the trial.
There's any number of ways to uh to to learn about this.
Obama, you know, he should have tried to uh sell the idea that he has a balanced view of federal regulation somewhere else, because most people who read the Wall Street Journal realize how unbalanced Obama is.
I mean, of all places to write this.
They're coming after us, folks.
More on that in uh in in due course.
But in certain quarters, in certain quarters, the president is being cheered for this op-ed in the uh in the Wall Street Journal, which the media, state controlled media saying that he is listening to businessmen.
Listening to businessmen.
Last week, the same media told us that Darrell Issa and other Republicans listening to businessmen was a scandal.
Remember that?
Daryl Issa wanted to bring a bunch of businessmen up and tell him what are the regulations that are in your way.
And the Democrats and the media went out and said, That's crony, you can't do that.
Why that's cheating.
Why, why that shows that they're on the side of the people against the middle class.
And so here's Obama ripping a page out of Daryl Isis' book and the state controlled media lamping it up.
Hiya, folks.
How are you?
L. Rushbow here and the EIB Network.
Great to have you.
Three hours of broadcast excellence straight ahead.
Telephone number 800-282-2882.
The email address, L Rushball at EIB net.com.
The uh 100th uh year anniversary of Ronald Reagan's birth is coming up.
Yeah, it is.
And you know, there's a the drive-by's and the and the Democrats are trying to you'll see it popping up.
Oh, what a wonderful time the 80s was.
Tip O'Neill and Ronaldus Magnus.
Yeah, they might have gone at it tooth and nail in the daytime, but then they went out and had a beer after work.
That never happened.
I mean, unless all of Congress was in Reagan never left the White House for a beer.
All of this is the 1980s were just as vitriolic as they were today.
Reagan was called a Nazi, just like Bush was, nothing's different.
It was, folks, if you weren't alive then or if you weren't old enough to be paying attention, do not doubt me.
The hatred for Ronald Reagan was universal in the Democrat Party and throughout the media.
These people blamed AIDS on Reagan.
Sounds familiar.
They blamed homelessness on Reagan.
You know why they blamed AIDS on Reagan?
Because he didn't care.
Because he never delivered a speech about it.
And because of that, AIDS was spread.
They actually wanted us to believe it Reagan had the disease, was sneaking into gay people's houses at night and impregnating him with the disease and wanting out.
And when he left their houses, he went over to Grant Park or wherever it was, Lafayette Park and stole the pork and beans of the homeless and took them back to the White House and fixed them up and ate them.
That's the kind of stuff they were saying about Reagan.
Now All of a sudden, in this era of civility.
This call for civility.
You're going to hear about, oh, how marvelous things were in the 80s.
Everybody hunkered down and got along.
Why the Democrats went along with Reagan's tax cuts, it couldn't have been more harmonious.
It was absolutely, it's not true.
And it's part of a media onslaught, ladies and gentlemen.
I have been thinking about this.
Ever since I had that call last week from a woman who correctly defined what this call for civility is all about.
It's censorship.
She's right on the money.
And what's really going on now, liberals are demanding that we abandon our principles and our arguments for our principles.
We give up our principles and we stop arguing for them.
This isn't about civility or any of the rest of it.
They are saying that accusing the president of trampling on our liberties, accusing him of trying to transform this society to strengthen the government and weaken the individual, accusing him of destroying the financial health of the nation.
That's all hate language.
No, it's not.
There's nothing hateful about it, particularly since it has the added benefit of being true.
And that's why they're trying to shut it up.
Stuff that they don't care about, they ignore.
Now they're trying to characterize accurate depictions of Obama and his agenda and his intent as hate language.
This is how they've now positioned things.
Obama stands for civility.
Obama stands for centrism and governing.
We, on the other hand, are hateful, uncivil, and violent.
That's the template.
That's the narrative that's been put out there.
And of course, the drive-bys are all too happy to carry that water.
And you're going to see comparisons, Obama to Reagan.
They always find value in dead conservatives.
Never conservatives who are alive.
This hacks me off like I can't, like I can't tell you.
The Republicans going along with this joint seating plan the Democrats have put forward for the State of the Union address is so preposterous, even symbolically, sitting next to each other at the State of the Union.
That's another ripoff.
All that is is the Democrats trying to hide the size of the Republican majority in that chamber that night.
It's not anything else.
Like I said yesterday, if the shoe were on the other foot, tables were turned, situation reversed, uh, and the uh Republicans were in a big minority and asked, hey, well, you know, why don't we all sit together?
The Democrats would say, sit together, you're damn lucky we're gonna let you in that night.
The hell with you sitting with us, who do you think you are?
But, you know, well, since we have the template here, civility, censorism governing, uh, we're hateful, uncivil, violent.
We have to agree with whatever people put forth as ideas in order to show that we're not what they say we are.
Doesn't appear, at least on this particular issue, that uh the Republican stance has changed.
We gotta show them that sure, buddy, we're not who they say we are.
Uh Tip O'Neill, by the way, back to this, called Ronald Reagan the most ignorant man who had ever occupied the White House.
He said that Reagan was Herbert Hoover with a smile, a cheerleader for selfishness.
Said that Reagan's policies meant that his presidency was one big Christmas party for the rich.
I'll never forget 1984, Democrat National Convention, San Francisco.
I was there.
I was sent there by a Kansas City radio station I worked for.
They wanted me out of town.
I was the hardest worker they had, but they didn't like the fact that I was controversial.
So they sent me out to cover the convention and buried me out there.
Well, they tried anyway.
And we, you know, we morning show started at four o'clock in the morning, uh, our time.
Stayed in a Gay Hotel.
They booked us in a gay hotel.
We didn't know it until we got there.
Everything was cool.
But there were about five of us.
I'm not kidding you.
At any rate, I never forget I was there.
And there's Tip O'Neill sitting in the upper the in the mezzanine of the wherever this thing to Moscone Center, I forget where the convention was.
And I didn't actually go to the convention itself.
I watched that on TV, but I did ancillary stuff.
Like took the trip over to Saucelito, checked out the restaurants there and did lifestyle reports.
You know, yuck yuck.
Any rate, I'm sitting there and I'm watching Tip O'Neill looks like Job of the Hutt, sitting up there in the in the in the club seats, if you will, in the mezzanine, uh, overlooking the thing.
He was in charge of the whole Democrat Party at the time.
This is the convention they nominated Mondel.
And this is the first convention where the nominee actually violated what was then uh standard operating procedure.
Uh the nominees nominated on Wednesday night and then doesn't show up until the next night to accept.
But Mondal and the family were in their hotel suite, they had the cameras in there, and Mondal loved hamburgers and cheeseburgers.
That's what the family was eating when he was nominated, and he grabbed everybody, so okay, let's go over to the hall.
Grabbed a family, got in the lemos, shut down traffic, Obama went, or Mondal went over there not to accept, just to accept the accolades and so forth.
Remember Tip O'Neill sitting up there like Job of the Hutt, and they finally dragged him to the microphone.
He started talking about the Republicans when they meet in Dallas in a couple of weeks.
You're gonna see him showing up in limousines and mink coats and furs and diamonds and so forth, the typical clichets.
You should have seen the receptions the Democrats held that I went to and the limos they were showing up in and all the money surrounding them.
It was always, it's always been a joke that the Democrats are the party of the little guy, and even more so now.
It's a little guy getting a shaft by Democrats, and it has been for for quite a while.
So, you know, we we uh we find ourselves in the midst now of a whole brand new template that has been created.
And that template is we are to shut up in the name of civility.
We are to abandon our principles, we are to stop arguing for our principles when this isn't about civility or any of the rest of it.
Uh saying accusing the president of trampling on our liberties and so forth.
I is uh is his hate language.
So Obama, he's showing the way that ABC, how about this?
Oh, I can't wait to dig deep and find the polling sample on this.
The ABC News Washington Post poll is out.
And among other things in this poll, 78% of the American people approve of the way Obama handled Tucson in the aftermath.
30% approve of the way Sarah Palin handled it.
Now, I don't believe either number for a moment.
78% of the way approve of the way Obama hit, and 30% approve of the way Palin handled it.
Why is she even being polled?
She has no official role in handling it.
She makes a video response after three or four days because she's dragged into it after being accused as an accessory.
So they'll always tell us, as I keep saying, who they are afraid of.
And uh, you know, as I say, Reagan's 100th anniversary of his father's birth is coming up, and his beloved devoted son, Ron Reagan Jr., to hawk his latest book, is hitting the morning talk shows.
And you know what all the um everybody's focusing on in the book is that Ron Reagan Jr. is claiming his father had Alzheimer's while he was in office.
This is his son.
On the 100th anniversary of his dad's birthday, hawking a book.
This must be the new civility that uh everybody's talking about.
By the way, folks, that poll, 78%, ABC Washington post poll, 78% approve of the way Obama handled Tucson in the aftermath, 30% Palin.
And is the same poll from the same group, Gary Langer and associates, that said that two-thirds of Americans approved of what went on during the lame duck session of Congress.
Now we went to the PDF file of the questionnaire.
And I can't find as of yet.
We are still scouring out there.
And I can't find any breakdown of the respondents by party affiliation.
We know that this is how these polls are weighted, shifted, massaged, influenced.
Even though the analysis talks about what percent of the Republicans versus the Democrats thought such and such, so they seem to be getting smart with holding the actual breakdowns of the sample.
So we can't see how they oversample Democrats to get the results they want.
But that's clearly what uh what was the poll we had yesterday?
Gallup or something that reported some oh, yeah, APGFK, this outrageous 25% only, down from 60%, 25% want health care repeal.
We found out the Republicans were undersampled by 12%, the Democrats oversampled by about the same uh the same amount.
By the way, blacks in Chicago not happy, including Carol Mosley Fraud, the former senator there.
They're not happy.
They're attacking our first black president for showing up in Chicago and campaigning for Rom Emanuel.
And on Martin Luther King's birthday weekend to boot.
That's right, Der Schlickmeister, Bill Clinton in Chicago on Martin Luther King's birthday weekend, campaigning for Rom Emanuel.
Now I'm sure that this criticism of Clinton from uh African Americans in Chicago, they're just objecting to the content of his character, not the color of his skin.
Everybody knows that he was the first black president.
Anyway, I want to go back to this setup here that that uh has been in place since Tucson that I've been thinking about ever since we had that call from that brilliant caller who pointed out that this call for civility is nothing more than a call for censorship.
A call for people to shut up.
You know, say we have to get along.
The American people want to see us get along.
Is that what the American and this ABC Washington Post poll says the same thing, by the way, vast majority of Americans want Republicans and Democrats to get along?
Isn't it amazing how everything the left wants or puts into an agenda shows up as a majority supported item in a poll?
Uh if the American people wanted Democrats to get along with Republicans, then why this massive Democrat defeat in November?
And of course, not just in Washington, but throughout the country.
Now it's it's by no means time to start caving on the agenda.
We have won the right to try governing our way.
Whatever we do, it can't be any worse than what the left has done for the majority of the last 80 years.
You think we can do better than 9.4% unemployment?
Damn right we can.
You think we can do better than $3.50 a gallon of gasoline?
Yeah.
You think we can do better than a 25% reduction in home values across the board?
Damn right we can do better than that.
You think we can do better than the debasing of our currency or annual deficits over a trillion dollars?
You think we can do better than that?
You know darn well we can do better in all of these areas.
Think we can do better in personal liberty And freedom, damn right we can.
We just need the energy and the commitment to do so.
Our view is very simple.
It isn't complicated at all.
Socialism doesn't work.
It can't work.
So why continue to follow such a disastrous path?
Because Obama insists on it.
Because Chuck Yu Schumer insists on it because the media insist on it.
Because certain Republicans want to be seen as civil.
So we're going to we don't we don't like all these loud voices in media.
We're gonna we just want to get along.
There's a sense, I think even among some Republican conservatives who've been in DC a long time that they can speak out from time to time, or they can cast a vote against this agenda from time to time, but there's really nothing else that can be done about it.
I really believe some DC elected conservatives think there's really nothing to be done about it.
So for the big picture, just go along.
That's right, according to the November elections.
Americans want Democrats to get along.
Go home.
Get a long way from Washington, not just get along.
Go home.
In fact, by the way, Kent Conrad, uh Senator, Democrat Senator from uh North Dakota not running again.
Why is that?
You want me to hazard a guess, educated guess, outside that's not even a guess.
The truth is he can't win.
He's up in 2012.
Kent Conrad getting out knows he can't win.
Kent Conrad's played this moderate game, make himself look like a moderate while voting hard left for years.
And that's because the Tea Party is exposing politicians like this.
Not the RNC, not the GOP.
They're impotent on this, they have been for some time.
It's the Tea Party doing all this.
And the Tea Party, by the way, no more loved in Washington now than they were before the election, including by establishment Republicans.
And there is there's a sense, and you can you can see this when certain Republicans take to the microphones of these cable chat shows.
They've been in DC a long time.
And you know, they speak out from time to time and sound good, enthusiastic, even cast a vote against Obama's agenda from time to time, but they just they sense there's really nothing else that can be done about it.
They're not willing to make a full-fledged opposition commitment.
So just go along and wait and hope for the next election.
Rather than doing the will of the voters.
The entire effort by the left, whether the media or the White House, frankly, too many in the GOP leadership, is to control, if not silence the Tea Party movement.
I am totally convinced of that.
As are you, I'm sure, you know it.
This is primarily the agenda of the left.
Discredit, silence, and control the Tea Party movement.
Now I'm not trying to be negative.
As you people know, I can't stand negativism.
I I'm off put by it.
But at the same time, you can't be phony, optimistic.
You have to deal with reality.
You can't be blind to it.
And I think we have fabulous, we've got great opportunities here.
But not thanks to the RNC or the GOP leadership.
They'd all but surrendered after Obama won.
Starting in 2009.
And it wasn't a peep of opposition.
They were positioning themselves to get on the uh on the support train.
First black president, no, we're not gonna dare be critical.
I can't no way we don't.
And so had had it been left to them, there would not have been any upset election in November of 2010.
But there were people out there who followed principles.
You, me, Tea Party.
And that means, continues to mean getting behind people who are not afraid to advance this agenda, these ideas.
So it's it's very simple.
We're not gonna be controlled.
We're not gonna be silenced.
We're gonna be heard, we're gonna be listened to.
This is a republic.
We're the people.
And we insist on it.
Now, Palin, this is breathtaking to behold this.
She is despised irrationally by the establishment in Washington, both left and right, Democrat and Republican.
Certain inside the Beltway conservatives despise her.
And that's because she's a leading voice of the Tea Party movement, which is a huge threat to the establishment in Washington, both parties, ruling class.
We've talked of all this.
This poll, Washington Post poll, 78% approve of Obama handling of Tucson, 30% approve Palin.
It's ridiculous.
But that poll was designed and timed to absorb all the hate and damage done by the media.
Throughout this Tucson episode, Obama was wonderful.
Palin was responsible.
The media do their damage and then head on down the road to the next story.
And then they take a poll.
After they do the damage, take a poll almost to brag about the damage they do.
You think when this poll came out, they're not smirking and happy.
Look what we did.
Look what we did.
78% love Obama.
30% love Palin.
Oh, it's just wonderful, isn't it?
Bragged about the damage that they get to do.
So who is it, folks?
Who is it actually that is creating all of this desperation and despair and pessimism?
And playing on people's fears and weaknesses.
I'll tell you who it is.
These people that hate Palin, I don't care left or right.
They are obsessed with attacking her.
Look at Tom Delay.
Tom Delay may go to prison.
Convicted on a bogus money laundering charge, first brought by a left-wing Democrat prosecutor, Ronnie Earle.
He was tried in the most liberal county in Texas.
The judge is a liberal Democrat, and what happened to Delay is what they would do to all of us if they could.
And that's what.
And by the way, what's what's what's Delay's nickname?
hammer.
Delay the poster boy in Washington for lack of civility.
So here's the warning shot.
Now let me let me suggest something here.
We can all say just as easily that the Democrats, the left is responsible for Tucson.
We could say it we didn't, but we could.
How?
Very simple.
The left, which continues to agitate, abuse, punish, name calls, whatever.
They create an environment in which the individual is smothered.
They uh treat people, individuals as worthless.
They come up with these conspiracy theories that Bush knew about 9-11.
Imagine yourself wandering aimlessly through the murk as a disturbed young man.
You see one of your cities practically blown off the map, and then you go out and watch a movie by Michael Moore and you listen to Democrats and you read websites, and you watch movies, documentaries about how Bush was behind it.
What do you think it's gonna do to an already disturbed mind?
Who did all that?
Who plants ideas like this in people's heads?
Bush knew of 9-11?
What kind of a mass murderer does that make Bush?
And don't forget 35% of the Democrats in this country in a poll said they thought so.
That Bush knew about it.
That means that by extension, Bush knew about it, didn't do anything to stop it, therefore he is complicit.
The left is constantly telling anybody who will listen how rotten this country is, how rotten we are, how rotten the nation is, how unfair and unjust our economic system is.
They create this environment of pessimism, self hate, and desperation.
They tell victims, and they try to make as many people victims as possible by putting them in groups of victims, and they tell these people that they've got no chance in this unjust and unfair country.
If you're Hispanic, you got no chance.
If you're African American, you got no chance.
If you're a woman and African American, you are doomed.
You have no chance.
The only out for you is the military, and if you do that, you're stupid.
But you really can't be blamed because this economy, so destroyed by George W. Bush, you have no future.
What is this going to do to people?
And this went on for eight years.
And before Clinton got to town, it went on for 16 or 12 years during Reagan, the first term of Bush.
This has been a constant refrain.
Unjust, unfair, America is.
And now, as though to put an exclamation point on it, we got a president who runs around the world basically affirming this all by apologizing for it.
Anybody who listen.
So you take some uneducated, ill-informed, malinformed, disturbed young people, and you subject them to this stuff.
Lying propaganda, movies, documentaries, who knows what the hell else, political speeches.
Sure, we can sit here and blame the left for this.
We can say they've got blood on their hands, that they create this kind of climate.
Because the Democrats, the left in this country, they turn citizen against citizen.
They want people to hate each other over wealth or race, gender, sexual orientation, or whatever.
They love talking about hate speech.
They love talking about hate.
They want people to hate each other.
It's a distraction to boot.
You get men and women at war against each other, they're distracted.
You get blacks and whites at war with each other, they're distracted.
No matter what war you set up, it equals a distraction while the left marches on down the highway of socialism.
How can you be a liberal and be proud of yourself when you're told you don't sacrifice enough for the state?
We've heard that refrain too.
The American people have not been asked to sacrifice.
During the Iraq War, we have not been asked to sacrifice, meaning we're not paying enough taxes, or your ancestors committed some horrible offense.
Or conversely, if you are, if you're not able to succeed, it's because of the founders who were inherently racism and racist, or it's the unfair unjustness of capitalism.
Or basically a system built to deny you your just rewards.
And other than that, you've got to find a way to get your benefits.
Because this country is stacked against, this is the message of the Democrat Party every day, and it is ratcheted up during every election.
This is the message.
So who is it that is creating the message of desperation and despair and pessimism playing on fears and weaknesses?
It is them.
It isn't us.
We're the ones who are optimistic.
We continue to tell people this country provides excellent opportunity for anybody who wants to seek it.
Whatever ambition level you have.
We are warning people that that magic, that this wealth of opportunity is threatened by the current regime and its socialist policies, and we threaten that because we want people to oppose it, because our warnings are rooted in love.
Love of country, love of this nation's history, love of its potential and love of its existence, love of its future.
And there isn't any of that on the left.
This stuff needs to be turned around on These people.
If you are a victim, and you have been victimized by other citizens or society generally, as the left preaches, are you not more likely to become violent?
They tell you that the deck is stacked against you, that the rich are taking everything from you.
Or that the Republicans want to kick you out of your house and take away your social security.
Or the Republicans want you to die, or their oil companies want you to go broke, or what have you.
What what are you going to be prone to do here after a lifetime of hearing this stuff?
Big oil, big pharma, big this, big insurance.
Every American institution that exists, according to the Democrats, is out to veritably kill you at one point or another.
If you were told that you are put upon by the system, that you have no hope unless society is transformed and made more just.
Unless there is fairness.
Are you not more likely to become violent?
If you're told every day that your future doesn't exist, that it's been robbed and stolen from you already.
What are you going to do, particularly if you have mental disturbance going into all this?
You told the rich are ripping you off.
If not for them, you would be living well.
If not for them, you'd have the boat and you'd have a house on the beach, and you'd have three cars.
Are you not at least going to be resentful?
And don't forget this is not something they say now and then is every day.
It is their platform.
If you're told that America is a racist nation and there's nothing you can do about it, you're going to get ticked off and form the new Black Panthers, maybe?
And try to get in the way of people electing people that you oppose.
Who knows?
Anything's possible when that's the message.
When you got community organizers like Obama running around agitating on all this stuff on street corners every day, in urban areas of this country, what the hell do you expect to happen?
And they blame us.
Turn it around on them, folks.
Damn it.
They're the ones that create climates of hate, negativism, pessim pessimism, desperation.
All is lost, despair.
They create it.
That's how they benefit.
They profit from all that.
Here's how it works.
Minor player in the big scheme of things, but still, this is how it works.
This yesterday, uh, Megan Kelly on America Live, Fox News Channel, talking with uh Alan Colbs.
And Meghan Kelly said, I assume you're not a huge Rush Limbaugh fan.
No, I mean not a huge Rush Limbaugh fan.
He's politicized it, and he's politicizing others' politicizing it.
But let me ask you a shame of what he's doing.
But let me ask you.
He blamed it on the Democratic Party and said the Democratic Party's protecting this guy, Jared Lee Lofner.
But that's ridiculous.
He was attacked first.
He was attacked.
Poor baby.
Well, listen, Alan, I'm just saying.
I'm just saying he had no business blaming the Democratic Party for it.
He's way out of line on that.
Obviously, there was one person to blame for this, and there's Jared Lee Lock.
But I was on the air on Saturday night.
There were other people on the air on Saturday night.
This was hours after the shooting took place who were already blaming this on the right.
Limbaugh immediately laughed out against liberals on the Democratic Party, something he should not have done.
He was attacked and blamed.
That's irrelevant.
That does not excuse the things he said.
It's irrelevant.
That's no excuse.
I didn't say anything until Monday.
But this is this is this is how it works.
Colmes gets the memo, like all the rest of them do, and they run out.
And so the the theme is that uh we're out of line.
We're way out of line to defend ourselves.
And when we illustrate the absurdity of it by being absurd, uh they fall for it.
Well, I knew that'd get them.
That was a media tweak of the day, and it worked.
It was all over that media ice site.
I said, no wonder the guy's smiling in his mugshot, you would be too if you knew the whole Democrat Party was trying to find somebody other than you to blame.
I mean, uh, there's a major political party in this country's got your back.
You pull the trigger and out there trying to blame anybody but you.
No wonder the guy's smiling.
You can always tell when what works really gets under their skin because then they run around and react to it.
Uh and say that that's that's out of line.
Shouldn't have a line to defend himself.
Poor baby, he can't handle being accused of murder.
Grow up.
Combs has suggested in the past, by the way, that Sarah Palin caused her child to have Down syndrome because she was not careful enough in her prenatal care.
Combs has said that.
And we must take a profit timeout back up.
The US unemployment rate's steady at 9.6% in mid-January.
