Time Text
And we're back, Rush Limbaugh.
Great to have you here, serving humanity simply by showing up on this, the most listened to radio talk show in the country in the fastest three hours in media.
Telephone number if you want to be on the program 800 282-2882 email address.
Illrushbow at EIB net.com.
I want to go back now to Stacy, somewhere in Georgia.
She is uh from the insurance industry and has been treating us uh with her take on health care and what it means for the insurance industry for months now.
Now, Stacy, you still there.
Stacy, are you still there?
Hey, Rush, I think you got me on now.
Oh, she must have hung up.
Snerdley was going to call her back.
She was gonna hold.
Put put the guy, put him on hold.
Um I thought she said she was gonna hold on.
She is there.
Are you there, Stacy?
Yeah, I have to.
Okay, well, somebody punched up the wrong button.
Sorry.
All right, now.
Um, I have I have I've got the text of Boehner's speech here.
Uh-huh.
I went and looked it up too during the break just to make sure that I didn't have any jerk reaction.
And you notice he says about midway through that the president sets the agenda.
And that made my ears perk up.
What are you talking about?
We sent you guys up there to change the agenda.
Well, wait a second.
I I don't see that.
I I've got I've got I've got the printout here of his speech, and I don't uh it's about midway through.
Well, I'm looking midway through.
Um I I don't I don't see anything about compromising with the president.
I don't see any unless he moves in our direction.
If he says, first he says that the president sets the agenda, that the president's agenda, you know, he in the course of the whole thing that you know the American people said the agenda stinks, so the president should change course.
And then he goes into that, and if he changes course, then we'll talk to him.
We'll quote unquote compromise.
Well, the problem is if you're gonna sit there and say that he's setting the agenda, you've just basically said we're we're sitting here warming seats until 2012.
And that is not what you're there for.
I'm looking for the exact words the president sets the agenda, and I don't see them.
Oh, wait, here we okay, here it is.
What with it, never mind.
While our new majority will serve as your voice in the people's house, we must remember it's the president who sets the agenda for our government.
The American people have sent an unmistakable message to him tonight.
That message is change course.
We hope President Obama will now respect the will of the people and change course and commit to making the changes they are demanding.
To the extent he is willing to do this, we are ready to work with it.
But make no mistake, the president will find in our new majority the voice of the American people as they've expressed it tonight, standing on principle, checking Washington's power, leading the drive for a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government.
So you you believe that by acknowledging that Obama sets the agenda that they're not going to fight it.
I do.
That's exactly what it sounds like to me.
If you notice, nowhere in there did he mention Obamacare.
It wasn't even brought up.
Um there's a bunch of things that wasn't brought up.
But the reason that I focused on that, like I told you, is that we're done, we're not going to make it to 2013 to a new inauguration.
We will not make it.
So this whole thing about, oh, well, the president, you know, sets the agenda, and if he what happens if he doesn't.
Well, let me read to you.
Let me read let me read to you what he says before that.
With their voices and their votes, the American people are demanding a new way forward in Washington, and I'm here tonight to tell you that our new majority will be prepared to do things differently and to take a new approach.
It hasn't been tried before in Washington my either party.
It starts with cutting spending instead of increasing it, reducing the size of government instead of expanding it, reforming the way Congress works and giving government back to the people.
And for all those families asking where are the jobs, it means ending the uncertainty in our economy and helping small business get people back to work.
The people's priorities will be our priorities.
The people's agenda will be our agenda.
This is our pledge to America.
This is our pledge to you.
With our new majority, while our new majority will serve as your voice in the People's House, we must remember that it's the president who sets the agenda for our government.
The American people have sent an unmistakable message to him tonight, and that message is, change course.
Yes.
Now, I'm not I don't want to be an apologist here.
I happen to disagree with you on the Boehner speech.
I think he broke down and cried.
I thought it was pretty good.
Well, you know, and I was happy with it until those things were said.
And you know what I thought immediately.
Let me tell you what I he let me put this in perspective for you from his standpoint.
Now I I I don't know that he would say this to you.
Even if there is a Republican president, Boehner thinks the president sets the agenda.
Look at immigration.
The House Republicans wanted no part of immigration, but the President Bush did.
They had to go along with it for party unity, and it cost them seats.
The question was, do we break from our own president?
Which in uh in Washington politics, that's a no-no.
I mean it's it's just ingrained in these guys.
Um so in that sense, I think he's he's simply talking about the power of the bully pulpit.
Okay.
I don't think he's conceding anything.
Well, and I hope not.
And and I may have a unique perspective I'm looking at this from.
Um my company's announcing layoffs at the beginning of the year.
Um which is not too far from now.
No.
I mean, we're we're looking down the barrel of a of a loaded shotgun.
And these people that we sent up there this this morning, all this crap about compromise.
You know, they don't talk to me about compromise.
All right.
Well, let me tell you what he said today in his press conference.
John Boehner.
Make no mistake, the president will find in our new majority the voice of the American people as they've expressed it tonight, standing on principle, checking Washington's power, and leading the drive for a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government.
In his press conference, he said, I believe that the health care bill that was enacted by the current Congress will kill jobs in America, ruin the best health care system in the world, and bankrupt our country.
That means we have to do everything we can to try to repeal the bill.
He said that this morning.
Okay.
And replace it with common sense reforms to bring down the cost of health care.
I believe that the health care bill that was enacted by the current Congress will kill jobs in America and will bring down the cost.
We've got he just repeats the state the statement here.
So in granted, I was so ticked at him when I got up this morning that I listened to that and it kind of went in one ear and out the other.
Like I said, until he tells me that Nancy Pelosi's gonna spend the next two years in her brooms closet, I don't I'm just ticked.
But but Rosh, I'm telling you, if they don't stop with this cowtowing to tradition.
Look, I'm not disagreeing with we're talking two different things here.
I don't because I don't want to stood here.
I am not carrying their water.
I just don't think you're right about what he said.
Well, and I hope you're right in listening to you today.
I felt a little bit better.
A little bit.
You should have been happy as hell compared to the way you felt last night.
I'm not just a potted plant here, I am at home, but I'm not here.
Um, but you know, Russ, I love you.
And and and there's so many things I have wanted to call you about with this health care bill.
It's been building, trust me.
I know because it's affecting you personally.
Well, and it's not only that, Ross, but it's affecting my family.
I mean, I I my elderly parents received notice from one of the biggest health insurers in the country.
They're no longer doing med advantage plans after one one.
I know.
They have no choice but to go back to traditional Medicare.
Right.
Which does not work for them.
No, and and that it's gonna get worse for everybody pretty soon.
Traditional Medicare is gonna be exchanges, single payer.
Everybody's gonna be on Medicare if Obama gets his way.
It's a nightmare.
And and maybe because I'm so deep in the bowels of it.
But where is the AARP on this?
Where where are the supposed lobbyists representing your parents?
Where they're in a tank with the Democrats on this.
Oh, I know, and my parents have have written the ARP and quit paying dues and basically told them where they can go.
But the problem right now is the traditional methods that we would use to to roll back Obamacare are not going to work because the bomb is set.
It's ticking.
And it's not gonna last another two and a half, three years.
They've got to do it now.
All right, now let me.
We are at a crossroads here.
Nobody disagrees with you.
We all understand the urgency.
But you understand.
You're gonna think I'm carrying their water, and I am not.
I don't know anybody, I I am not carrying their water.
I'm just, you know, I'm into Littleville.
He did not say what you thought he said last night.
He did not say they're gonna bow down and kiss Obama's butt.
Well, and I hope you're right.
And he said this morning their objective is going to be to repeal it and replace, which I don't like.
I don't like this replace business.
I'm just gonna tell you right now, I don't like repeal or replace.
I think that's demollify us.
Repeal it.
When you replace it, you keep the Leviathan, which we don't want, and you plug in so called things on the margins.
Just get rid of it.
However, Stacy.
It's a simple thing called mathematics.
I know.
They can't repeal it.
I think now they can they can send a repeal bill up there every damn week and they'd better.
And they can defund parts of it.
They had better work as hard as they ever had.
They better there better be action behind what they're saying.
Words aren't gonna cut it anymore.
We know that they can't repeal it.
We know that Obama's gonna veto it.
So make him.
You make the Democrats stand up for this debacle.
You make them stand up and defend it.
There is another election two years from now.
You make them tell everybody why they want this to stay.
You make them defend this rot gut.
You make them defend this disaster.
That's what they must do.
Because there's another election.
And there's an election after that.
And in the years between elections, there is progress it has to make, be made.
Don't misunderstand where I'm coming from on any of this.
I'm not sitting here uh uh in a in a um with a feeling of euphoria over what I think was a wipeout last night.
I'm as realistic about it, but I am not gonna start out being depressed.
I'm willing to end up there if it's warranted, but I'm not gonna start there.
Well, Rush, you there?
Yeah, I'm here.
I I was i absolutely ecstatic until that that that speech.
I mean, I was through the roof.
I even took the day off because I figured I'd be so drunk celebrating I'd have a hangover today.
Everybody in Washington thinks the president sets the agenda.
Okay.
Well think the people think the president sets the agenda.
But the house is where the action is.
That's where the investigative committees are.
I've not heard anybody talking about investigating how CMS is doing what they're doing.
Well, you let's just wait and see.
Let's I'll guarantee you there are a bunch of Obama bureaucrats who are scared bejesus right now that all of a sudden they're gonna be up to Capitol Hill and they're gonna have to explain what the hell they're doing.
They have not had to do that for two years.
There will be subpoenas issued.
Boehner promised that.
Daryl Issa, whatever you think of him, uh they're talking about real oversight.
We'll see.
You know, they're saying the right things right now.
Okay.
I'm thinking uh I did the Democrats right now are not sitting comfortably.
They are worried sick.
Some of these bureaucrats, czars and whatever, are gonna get called up there and they're gonna be asked, what the hell have you been doing the past two years?
What is your job?
What are you doing?
Who's paying you?
Well, as long as Boehner and and the others who are going there, and those who who are still there who survived, as long as they recognize their responsibility to us, then I'll sit quiet.
But the minute they start carrying on like like they're going to play the the New York Times game, I'm out of here.
I understand you are simply using your intelligence guided by experience.
And I'm scared, Russ.
I really am.
I mean Well, look at I I'm not trying to talk you out of it.
I'm I am simply disagreeing with you that Boehner didn't throw in the towel last night.
Okay, well, I will definitely He may throw in the towel next week.
He didn't last night.
Well, your opinion holds a lot of weight, and I will factor that in and take some more medicine for my hangover, which wasn't from a happy drunk.
Don't doubt me.
Oh, no, and you've got an unhappy hangover.
I do.
Oh, no.
Those are the worst kinds of hangovers.
I was so upset.
I mean, I was physically ill last night.
Just because of this passage in Boehner's remarks.
Yeah, because you know, Russ, if you listen to them over time, and I've been listening to him for 20 years.
Yeah.
When you start hearing that kind of language out of them, it means somebody's trying to make good.
Walk in, what did you think?
What was your reaction when he started out by saying this is not a time to celebrate?
Not with not with one out of every ten Americans out of work, not with this generational theft debt is not this is not a time to celebrate.
What do you think about that?
And I was told on that because I understood what he was saying.
And I agreed with him in part.
I also thought, though, that a little more um appreciation for those of us on the ground who have been working our behinds off the last couple of years and recognizing that, you know, it is time for us to celebrate.
Maybe not him, but for us, yeah, absolutely.
Well, 2012 is not far down the road.
It's not.
And people are going to start campaigning for the White House very soon.
And there will be some Democrats.
They're going to be smelling the blood in the water because there is blood in the water.
I tell you the only thing that that would have been nicer last night than than seeing Nancy Pelosi's Botox face fall off of her skull would have been a fly on the wall in Barack Obama's living room.
Well, what do you think was going on in Barack Obama's living room?
Oh, he was cussing us.
He was he was giving us the mayor daily treatment on steroids last night.
He was cussing us for being ignorant and not smart enough to know how wonderful he is.
I mean, he was probably even burning a copy of Olinski's book just.
Let me tell you something.
He let there was a picture of him it dragged the press in there, maybe as the White House photographer, but there's a picture of him calling uh calling Boehner.
And he looked happy.
He wouldn't he wouldn't cuss anybody.
Uh oh, he's not cussed.
He's got us right where he wants.
You don't understand Don't doubt me on this guy.
Do not doubt me.
He's happy.
He was happy as hell at his press conference today.
Did you ever ask yourself?
The guy has not held a press conference in months.
Maybe in over a year.
And he holds one the day after his party gets wiped out.
Who would do that?
Most people go into hiding.
He calls he calls a press conference.
He wants to come out there and and talk about it.
He got what he wanted.
He's happy.
You people don't understand.
You're never gonna if you don't understand it now, there's nothing I can say that's gonna make you understand it.
If you don't understand, Barack Obama does not like the way this country was founded.
He does not like the way it is.
He does not like the fact that there is prosperity here.
He does not like the fact this country exists.
If you don't understand that, if you're not willing to accept that, you'll never ever understand this guy.
Yeah, let me tell you the purpose of this press conference today is cement in people's minds that the Republicans are now responsible.
Obama wants to work with them.
They're gonna have to take the blame for everything bad from now on.
When all the excrement hits the fan.
That's what compromise is all about.
You notice how little attention there is from the media that um Republicans took Obama's old Senate seat.
I mean, he didn't even get to auction it off.
Republicans took his seat.
Media not even talking about it.
Hey, by the way, Heritage Foundation.
Very valuable.
Not wasting any time with the celebration of last night's victories.
Early this morning, the people at Heritage put out the welcome at for the new crop of conservatives on their way to Washington.
Heritage has put out their own five-point plan as the new conservative Congress gets to work on fulfilling the mandate from last night.
Now, what they send out is posted online at Askheritage.org.
You can see it.
You can also donate to support their work.
Now I've mentioned heritage for years.
Today is a perfect example of why I do.
They're not resting on laurels.
Instead, they are immediately providing leadership in conversations in Washington, and what matters most to you and me, they are going to be influencing the newbies that arrive.
Now, the people of Heritage rely on us to support them and fund their work.
Now here's a glimpse of the the published five-point plan cut government spending, repeal Obamacare, stop all tax increases, defend the nation's security, get control of government from bureaucrats and professional politicians.
Easy, you say.
Well, you know, philosophically, idea-wise, easy to come up with instructing people how to do it, giving them the inspiration, motivation to do it, and then to stick with it when they are opposed.
Heritage does all of this.
It's all written out at Askheritage.org where you can join 700,000 other conservatives in becoming a member today with your membership donation.
Winning elections is the first step, but now the hard work begins.
And you will hear heritage speaking clearly.
They have a huge voice in Washington with the kind of people who won the election last night.
They'll be all over it.
Askheritage.org is where you will find everything they're going to do.
And in fact, where you can be part of it.
All right now.
I have been threatening this whole program.
Well, intending to play for you some of Marco Rubio.
So I'm gonna I'm gonna do that.
We're gonna come back from our brief timeout here at the bottom of the hour, and we're just gonna play some of Boehner, but I've read Boehner.
So don't you play Baehner?
We'll play sound bites of Marco Rubio for you when we get back.
In addition to that, squeeze in even more calls from you.
Sit tight, coming right back before you know it.
Okay, let's hit some of the sound bites.
As promised, we'll start with uh Marco Rubio and his uh acceptance speech last night in Coral Gables, Florida, after he won a three-way race with 50% of the vote.
Now, this victory, the Marco Rubio victory, you may not hear it anywhere but here.
This is the one that has the Democrats worried.
I mean, they know they got wiped out last night.
This man, Marco Rubio, and his future.
This is something that they are deathly worried about.
Here's the first of three soundbites.
We make a grave mistake if we believe that tonight these results are somehow an embrace of the Republican Party.
What they are is a second chance.
A second chance for Republicans to be what they said they were going to be not so long ago.
You see, I learned early on in this campaign, in fact, it's what propelled me to enter it, that what this race was about was about the great future that lies ahead for our country.
A future that Americans know is there for the taking.
Marco Rubio, Coral Gables, Florida.
He also said this.
I know America's great, not because I read about it in a book, because I've seen it with my eyes.
I've been raised in a community of exiles, of people who lost their country, of people who know what it's like to live somewhere else.
By the way, a community that I am proud to be a part of.
A community.
A community of men and women that were once my age.
And when they were, they had dreams like we have now.
And yet they lost all those things through an accident of history.
No matter where I go or what title I may achieve, I will always be the son of exiles.
They hate hearing this.
They just, I mean, every person like Marco Rubio should be registered as a Democrat, should be voting Democrat, should be running for office as a Democrat.
Here he tells the story of the American dream as lived by his father.
He grew up largely in a society where what you were going to be when you grow up was decided for you.
This is like almost every other place in the world.
Think about what that means.
That means that before you are even born, how far you are going to get to go in life is decided for you by who your parents are or are not.
He was fortunate enough to make it here to America, where he was never able to capture his own dreams of his own youth.
Instead, he made it the mission of his life to ensure that his children would have every opportunity he did not.
That every door that was closed for him would be open for them, that the day would never come for them that came for him.
The day when he realized that his dome dreams would not be possible.
And so now life was about opening pathways for his children.
This story I know well.
And it verifies to me the greatness of our country.
Because tonight, with your vote, you have elected his son to the United States Senate.
Now, this is interesting because Marco Rubio has lived it.
He wasn't born here, didn't read about it in a book, as he said.
Does not have to wonder what the people who paid the price had to go through.
You know, I of all the things I love that particular bite.
He grew up largely in a society where what you were going to be when you grew up was decided for you like almost every other place in the world.
Here is a short explanation of American exceptionalism.
This is like almost every other place in the world.
Think about what that means.
That means that before you are even born, how far you're going to go in life is decided for you by who your parents are or are not.
It's true in part in this country.
The Kennedy's are a great example.
But it's not true for everybody.
You don't need special circumstances to get anywhere in this country.
You do everywhere else.
By the way, uh, folks, it is official.
I told you this earlier in the day, and I told you to be on the lookout for two things today.
And it's not an accident the Fed meeting is today when everybody else is looking at the election returns.
Federal Reserve to buy an additional $600 billion of long-term treasuries by the end of the second quarter of next year.
QE2.
They're not buying anything.
They're printing it.
They are printing $600 billion.
Long-term treasuries.
The well, one of the primary uses of the money will be.
I'm telling you, this is true.
I can't give you the machinations for it.
It's going to end up invested at Wall Street.
It's going to end up invested in stocks in businesses to make it look legit and okay.
This is how it's, it's, it's it's made to look like this is helping the economy grow.
It's it's done so that Democrats can say, look, look, our policies are helping the economy.
Now normally they run Wall Street down, they hate it in favor of Main Street.
Now all of a sudden they're going to be looking at Wall Street.
Look at the Dow Jones industrial average.
Look at our policies.
Look.
The growth of this economy.
It's happening.
It's just lagging.
But we and our policies are bringing the country back.
That's what this is for.
The money will end up in the stock market.
I'm gonna, you know what I'm gonna do?
My job is to make the complex understandable.
And I'm gonna do that in this case.
I I do not have the time here to explain the route that all this takes.
But I will.
For now, don't doubt me.
This money is to do two things.
The printed money end up in the stock market to show growth there, and to inflate the currency.
That is the secondary purpose here.
The beginning of the inflation-deflation cycle.
This is the fastest way to retire debt.
When you don't have the ability to earn enough money to pay it off, the fastest way to is inflate the currency.
And so this will allow the Fed and the regime to say that their policies are resulting in deficit reduction and savers.
You're gonna take in the shorts here again.
It's the money you've got sucked away has become worth less.
So that the regime can show the world that its policies are growing the government.
So it is Now official out there.
QE2.
Quantitative easing the printing of the money is also another way for the Democrats to get control of Wall Street.
What do you mean, Rush?
What do you mean?
Well, Wall Street's a bunch of welfare recipients today.
All this money invested in equities, all this money invested in stocks.
Where's it coming from?
It's not coming from John Q public, it's coming from Ben Bernanke.
It's coming from the Federal Reserve, and what they give, they can take away.
Don't doubt me.
That's why, folks, those of us who've been saying it have been saying it.
Last night was just the beginning.
Last night didn't solve anything.
That's why don't be depressed.
Don't be last night was a wipeout.
Last night was such a wonderful event to build on.
You may interpret what I'm saying as equating where we are to helplessness.
I am not at all saying that.
Don't misunderstand me.
Yes, there are large forces.
Powerful forces.
They um don't always win.
If they always won, we would have ceased being the United States a long time ago.
We are still the United States.
We are finally now in a position to start fighting back.
The question is, will the people we elected fight back?
That's the next thing to watch.
That's what we have to ascertain.
If they don't, they're gone, and a new crop gets set in there in 2012.
It's worth it.
We're talking about not just ourselves and our country, our children and grandchildren.
Marco Rubio spelled it out.
It's all worth it.
It has taken the forces of the left a long, long time to get this close to transforming America.
And they haven't succeeded yet.
Somebody said, What did Eric Cantor say?
I haven't heard Eric Cantor.
Eric Cantor was on PMS NBC last night.
And he took them to town.
Took them to lunch.
I gotta take a brief time out, but we come back, I'll give you some sound bites of Eric Cantor on PMS NBC last night.
Okay, here in a nutshell, in a nutshell, the Federal Reserve, the government, is still trying to boost lending.
And get the markets moving by putting more money into the system.
It didn't work the first time, so let's try it again.
The problem is not credit, it's not lending, it's customers.
Sales.
That's what we don't have.
It's gonna hurt the dollar.
It'll be good for U.S. corporate earnings.
That'll look good.
They will export more and keep profits offshore.
Now come up with the way this is all gonna break out.
You can look at it as another stimulus, if you will, but misguided, ill-timed, and coming on the heels of other stimuli that also haven't worked.
It's Krugman.
It's Paul Krugman.
You haven't spent enough yet.
You haven't got a big enough deficit.
That's why it hasn't worked.
It's Paul Krugman.
It's far left-hand wackoism.
All right.
Eric Cantor.
PMS NBC's election coverage question.
We're now joined by the member of the new Republican majority, Eric Cantor, the man who has been the minority whip.
What are you gonna do?
Well, first of all, it's good to be on.
It's good to be on MSNBC on a night like this.
I get your point.
Exactly.
Chris, that was for you.
We are really looking forward to getting down to work.
I mean, come on.
The American people have spoken loud and clear tonight, and they've said you've not listened, Washington.
You know, there's been 20 months of policies that just have not produced the results that have been promised.
Uh, and it's up to us as Republicans, if we're lucky enough to solidify the gains that we've already experienced tonight, uh, when we assume majority uh to do just that.
Next question, every Republican we've talked to tonight about the agenda.
If Republicans are taking control of the House has mentioned tax cuts, extending the Bush tax cuts.
That means the difference between the Democrat proposal and tax cuts, the Republican proposal and tax cuts, about 700 billion dollars worth of tax cuts for the richest people in the country.
Do you think 700 billion dollars should be added to the deficit?
Let's set the record straight here.
There's no tax cuts.
Nobody's getting a tax cut.
Come January 1st, if nothing's done.
Well, listen, even if it is, if if January 1 comes, one of two things are gonna happen.
Either tax rates go up or they stay the same.
There's no tax cuts.
If you're a small business person or even a working family, if you are somebody at the lowest uh spectrum of the income level, you're gonna receive a tax hike if nothing is done right now.
I don't think many Americans are going to agree that raising taxes right now is the prescription we need when you're looking to the small businesses in the private sector to create those jobs.
Now this is this is uh it's right on the money.
There are no tax cuts being talked about.
There aren't any tax cuts happening.
If if uh if nothing happens, then taxes stay the same.
If they let the Bush tax cuts sunset, everybody's taxes go up.
But nobody's talking about a tax cut.
And frankly, I don't care if the federal government gets starved 700 billion dollars.
The federal government needs to be starved a whole lot more than 700 billion dollars.
The hell with it.
Why in this, especially that?
Why is liberals first and foremost concern with the government?
The government's not unemployed, the government's not out of work, the government's not starving.
Sometimes, my friends, if I really think about it, I just get livid.
Final question: Do you think the Tea Party will feel let down if you and Boehner move to raise the debt ceiling next year?
Look, right now, what the people are saying, including the folks in the Tea Party, is get your business straight, Washington.
Start listening to us and start demonstrating the kind of fiscal discipline.
I'm gonna get my give you an answer.
I'm gonna give you an answer.
And start demonstrating the fiscal discipline that we expect of our federal government and most especially the Republican Party.
You're gonna raise the selling.
You're gonna let the country crash.
We're gonna have at least three or four months here to demonstrate that we're about fiscal discipline, cutting spending, going about the things that Americans want, which is to bring government back into its raise the debt ceiling or let the country crash.
Now listen, we've got three or four months until that gets here.
All right, see what's happening here.
It's Lawrence O'Donnell.
You guys, you're talking about fiscal restraint, but wait, you're gonna have to raise a debt ceiling or the government's gonna get shut down.
So you guys can't be honest.
You can't be serious.
You're not gonna cut spending because you're gonna raise the debt ceiling to raise spending.
And so that's that's the trap here that's being set.
Now the answer to this is not to accept the premise that Lawrence O'Donnell puts forward.
I don't have time to tell you what the answer is, because I'm out of time.
Well, I know this is why I don't go on these stupid shows.
It's just if I could do one thing, if I could get all of these guys in a room and do a little seminar on how to go on these if you're gonna insist on going on these stupid shows, if you are going to insist on going on MSNBC, which does not have an audience, if you're gonna insist on doing it, then here is how.
They hate your guts, they're looking to embarrass you, they're looking for you to fail.
If you accept any of the premises in their questions, you have lost.
You go on there and you ignore their question and say what you want to say, and if they interrupt you so you're not answering the question, you say that's right because it's a stupid question.
But that's just me.
Why don't you go on TV?
Because I don't like television.
I just don't.
I don't like the makeup, I don't like retakes, I don't like sitting around waiting to do it over and over again.
I don't like meetings.
But that's just me.
I'm not into Facebook.
Back after this, don't go away.
Some of our EIB affiliates carried the Obama press conference today.
That's fine.
It's their station.
But in doing so, they missed a powerful monologue uh in the second hour of this program, which ran about 14 minutes and 10 seconds.
We've timed it down to the second, because we're going to replay it tomorrow.
I don't know when, but at some point during the program tomorrow, and definitely when Obama's on the way to India, we will replay that monologue on freedom and liberty.
And who the hell are these people?
It's all coming up as well as the rest of the program.
