Time Text
The views expressed by the host on this program make more sense than anything anybody else out there happens to be saying because this program is a daily relentless unstoppable pursuit of the truth.
And we find the truth and we proclaim the truth and it makes enemies of the truth nervous and chaotic.
Great to have you here.
Telephone number 800-282-2882, the email address LRushbo at EIBnet.com.
The only people Barack Obama can lead are people who are as angry and divisive as he is.
That's where he excels.
Leading people who are already angry, already divisive.
What has been driven into the ditch, he keeps talking about the fact the Republicans drove the economy into the ditch.
What's been driven into the ditch is civility from the White House.
What has been driven into the ditch is civility from the Oval Office.
I want to play this soundbite again to you.
This is from yesterday morning on Univision Radio.
Question.
Mr. President, you were able to pass a health care plan, and you worked a lot for that.
Most of my listeners, they haven't seen that.
They haven't the same way that you work for health care.
They haven't seen that in immigration reform.
They haven't seen that same effort from you, sir.
I am president.
I am not king.
I can't do these things just by myself.
If Latinos sit out the election, instead of saying we're going to punish our enemies and we're going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us, if they don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it's going to be harder.
And that's why I think it's so important that people focus on voting on November 2nd.
Now, let's break this down.
Obviously, I mean, the one thing you can conclude here, there's no way the man's going to compromise with anybody.
He's not going to say, you know what, the American people rejected me.
I think I better help the Republicans defund my health care bill.
I think I better give up cap and trade.
You know, I know the American people don't want cap and I better, you know, I better stop with all this green energy stuff and getting rid of the colon.
The American people don't want it.
Is anybody really expect that that's going to happen?
I think there are some who do.
I think, and they are Republican leaders.
Anybody remember one of the things Obama did to get the economy out of the ditch and nationalize the car companies?
Republicans drive a car, the economy, in a ditch, and what does he do?
Nationalize it.
But let's break this down.
I'm president, I'm not king, parentheses, damn it.
Or I'm president, I'm not king, parentheses, yet.
I can't do these things just by myself.
If Latinos, if Latinos sit out the election instead of saying we're going to punish our enemies, if you are going to sit out the election and whine and moan to me about immigration reform instead of joining me in punishing our enemies,
then we're not going to reward our friends who stand with us.
You know, if you don't see that, if we don't see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, it's going to be harder for me to be friends with you.
So you see, you Latinos, you are not people.
You are weapons to be used against the enemy at Obama's bidding.
But let's examine the mindset.
If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying we're going to punish our enemies, who are the enemies?
Who's the enemy?
We are.
The people who do not want illegal immigrants to have amnesty.
The people who want immigration law to remain as it is.
The people who want the borders secured.
They are the enemy to who?
Obama.
And if his voters are not going to look at us the same way he does as enemies, then screw them.
If Latinos sit out the election instead of say we're going to punish our enemies, and we're going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important, meaning if you don't stand with me, if you don't punish the enemies to hell with your immigration bill, I'm going to go where my friends support me first.
So you Latinos, you want my help on amnesty, fine.
You better get out and punish my enemies because my enemies are yours.
And if you don't, I'm going to start working with other people who've helped me.
That's what he's saying to these people.
All fine and dandy, politics, politics.
But we were told that this was the great unifier.
We were told that this was going to be post-partisan and post-racial.
We were told that this kind of approach in politics wasn't going to ever happen anymore.
That the precious independents who hated all of this conflict, independents and moderates who hated all the arguments and so forth, Obama was going to get rid of it.
We were all going to get along.
Obviously, the only thing going on here is incivility, and it's being led and inspired by the White House.
Now, how did he get health care not being a king?
How did he get stimulus, bailouts, takeovers, student loans?
Why couldn't he get immigration, Latinos?
If he got all that other stuff, not being a king, how come he didn't get what you want, Latinos?
He could have.
He could have gotten immigration just like he got health care.
I mean, nobody wanted health care and he still got it.
The stimulus he could have gotten, he could have gotten your issue of immigration just like, why didn't he?
You Latinos need to be asking yourselves this question.
Why didn't he?
Because you were in the back of the bus.
The issues, bus, you're in the back.
He figures all it's going to take isn't looking like you care.
He cares.
Get your vote, all it's going to take is to make it look like he's for immigration, but reform the way you want.
All he's going to do is sue Arizona and you'll vote for him.
Dingy Harry.
Dingy Harry, all he has to do is promise to take up the immigration bill.
And you are going to make up the difference in his defeat, upcoming defeat to Sharon Engl.
So you're in the back of the bus, Latinos.
And until you start punishing enemies, his enemies, you're going to stay at the back of the bus.
Along with the Republicans, you're going to be at the back of the bus.
And make no mistake, back of the bus is not a coincidental use of phrase.
Back of the bus has a specific meaning to Omaha Ibama.
It has a specific meaning.
Back of the bus is an intentional reference to Montgomery, Alabama, the bus boycott, which helped launch Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks.
There's no way that this is a slip of the tongue or an artful turn of phrase.
an intentional racial dig So one more thing about this, I can't do these things just by myself.
If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying we're going to punish our enemies and reward our friends who stand with us again, who's the enemy?
We are Republicans, conservatives.
We are the enemy.
Now, when we talk about the Democrats as the enemy, what happens to us?
Hate speech.
It's inspiring potential violence.
It is uncivil.
It's that.
It's discourse that's hurting our culture and our politics.
And you Republicans this is.
Stop talking this way.
Punish your enemies.
President of the United States can go speak on Spanish radio about punish our enemies and chastise them for not doing so.
when we talk about punishing our enemies Time magazine does covers with a churlish looking Rush Limbaugh on a cover saying is Rush Limbaugh good for America Barack Obama on Spanish radio well if you Latinos gonna sit out the election instead of punishing our enemies punish our enemies
Frankly, we ought to be looking at them the same way TEA Party does.
Republican leadership doesn't not?
Not in genuine political terms, that just the opposition.
But but Obama here is admitting the American people are the enemy.
The American people are opposed to amnesty.
The American people are opposed to his way of immigration reform.
The American people are the enemy.
Arizona is the enemy, and so his government is suing the state of Arizona, which means individuals in individual citizens are having to donate money to the Arizona Legal Defense FUND for crying out loud.
The American people he's talking to a an audience on Spanish radio.
The American people are the enemy.
The Hispanics are supposed to get out there and punish their enemies.
He has come to divide.
This is why the TEA Party exists.
This it is Obama and the Democrats, and it is spending.
It is debt.
It is all the things Obama's done that are not in the news, that are purposely being left out of the news, not being reported on at all the things that created the TEA Party, that ginned them up in the first place.
Instead, what's happening this week is a bunch of stories about how kooky and unstable tea party candidates are, why they're stepping on the head of a supporter of Jack Conway's in Lexington, Kentucky.
They know what's about to hit them.
They know the wave that's about to sweep over them.
They're trying to diminish it, limit it as uh best they can.
And we went on to say by the way, you don't have the audio on this, but when?
When he, when Obama was finished talking to the Latinos about punishing their enemies, Referring specifically to Republicans such as John McCain, who formerly supported an immigration overhaul, but now are stressing border security and supporting strict immigration laws like Arizona's.
Obama said those aren't the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.
So if you oppose amnesty for illegals, if you are for border security, if you agree that the Arizona law needs to be upheld, if you support the Arizona law, which is essentially a restatement of federal law, then in the eyes of President Obama, you aren't the kind of folks who represent our core American values.
He has come to divide.
Look at the judicial branch rules that his executive orders like the drilling ban in the Gulf of Mexico are unconstitutional.
He just laughs and ignores them.
Sends his funky salazar out there to ignore the court's ruling.
Those aren't the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.
So much for Obama reaching across the aisle.
So much for Obama moderating.
So much for Obama realizing the American people have rejected his ideas.
I have a curious story here, ladies and gentlemen, from the New Haven, Connecticut Independent.
The headline, DeLauro helps Blumenthal woo women.
This would be Rosa DeLauro, a Congresswoman from Connecticut, helping Blumenthal woo women.
Now, probably just me, but I don't see how that works.
But as I say, it's Connecticut, and what do I know?
To the phones we go, this is Ron in Sarasota, Florida.
I'm glad that you called, sir.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Well, thank you very much, Rush.
It's a real honor to speak to you.
You bet.
Just a real quick note on that punishment for the governator.
It sounds to me like something he said when he was calling the barbarian in his first movie, Barack Obama's Punish the Enemy statement, something that ended with his meaning of life, leaving the women lamentation, the losses, or something to that effect.
You know, Barack being tough.
Anyway, Corporate, so I'm here in Florida, and I have an interesting statement about the early voting, absentee voting that's going on here.
My daughter received an absentee vote.
She goes to the University of Florida, and I'm about 200 miles south of here in Sarasota.
And she came back, and she asked me to hand deliver it to my Elections Bureau, which I did.
I handed it to the woman.
And for whatever reason, the ballot box was only about five or six feet away from her.
She just kind of punched the touchscreen, looked at something, and just put the ballot down.
So I said, you know what?
I have nothing to do with that.
Wait, wait, wait.
Hold on a minute now.
I have never early voted her absentee, so I don't understand this.
Okay.
You're taking your daughter's absentee vote in and somebody registers it if that punches it in at that point?
No, no.
What happened was, I don't know, she was supposed to take the absentee ballot, get up, walk over to four or five feet away to the ballot box and just drop it in.
Now, I'm not saying anything she was doing anything wrong.
She might have been just busy at that time when I handed her the ballot.
But like I said, I just wanted to sit there and watch, and I waited a minute, two, three.
And then she looks at me and says, can I help you?
And I said, yeah, I'm just waiting to watch you pick up the, you know, what you put in the ballot box.
So she looked at me and looked at her coworker, gave a little huff.
You know, I'm not accusing her of doing any wrongdoing.
She might have been totally busy or something, but it was just kind of curious that it took her.
Wait a minute now.
It says up here that your call is about somebody early voted and that Chris's name was checked.
Oh, this is right.
That was me.
This is a second example, me.
What happened was for me was I went to early vote.
This is not absentee ballot.
My daughter was an absentee ballot.
I was an early voter.
So what they do is they check me in.
They look to make sure I'm registered and what have you.
And they hit the printer button and out they print a ballot.
So I get my, I did this with my wife.
I'm a registered Republican.
I don't know if that means anything in this case or not, but that's what it was.
I looked at the box to check who I was going to vote for for Senate.
And in the Charlie Chris box, it seemed to be a blemish or imperfection or a discoloration, what have you, right in the Charlie Chris box.
So I brought it back to the monitor and I said, if I vote this, it's possible that my vote will be tossed out.
And she looked at it and she kind of shook her head.
And it didn't really look like it was surprising her, like this has happened before.
So they destroyed the ballot.
They gave me a new one.
And that ballot was fine.
But it just was very coincidental that the whole ballot was, again, very clear.
Everything was very nice, except for the fact that in the Charlie Crist Oval, it seemed to be dark.
It was dark.
It was definitely dark, and there was no doubt about it.
I showed my wife it, and she agreed I should have the ballot taken back and destroyed.
Well, good for you.
That's a smart thing to do.
If it looked like it had been tampered with, that was the smart thing to do.
It's a good piece of advice for everybody because we got reports this is happening in Colorado or Nevada with people trying to vote for Sharon Angle.
The ballot's already marked for Harry Reid in North Carolina.
Same thing is happening there.
We know that Democrat vote fraud is prevalent.
It's studied.
It is practiced.
And we know that that's pretty much all they have to hang their hats on.
Because again, I think it's important to point out there's not one, one thing that they can run on saying, vote for us because of what we've done.
Not one element of anything in the Democrat Party agenda is something they can run on and say, re-elect me or elect me because I support this.
Now, I also find it funny.
I mean, even if it was unintentional, even if it was unintentional, you still open a ballot, a blemish on the ballot for Charlie Crist and the callers in Florida.
Charlie Crist is a blemish.
Understandable.
Now, the worker probably has nothing to do with any of this.
If this kind of fraud's going on, these are just the vote fraudsters are not going to rely on the people at the front desk.
The stuffers.
They're not.
It's going to go much deeper than that, the fraud.
It doesn't sound like that's what was going on here.
At any rate, we'll have more of your phone calls, other exciting soundbites in the roster, and more coming up here on the Rush Limbaugh program.
Charlie Cook, crunch time, final analysis, eight seats in the Senate for Republicans.
That does not equal control.
We'll be right back.
Don't go away.
Back to the phones to East Hartford, Connecticut.
This is Clifford.
Great to have you on EIB Network.
Hello.
Thank you, Rush.
Thanks for taking the call.
You bet.
I just wanted to express an opinion from listening to you for a while and with particular reference to your launching of the reverse operation chaos and your support for what the Republicans do in the Senate.
I think that's a good idea.
Hold it a minute.
Hold it.
Hold it.
Tyranny of the minority.
Folks, I'm sorry, we have an antiquated phone system here.
What support for Republicans doing in the Senate, I want to understand what you're talking about.
That escapes me.
I think that the Republicans, for the most part, are misusing filibuster.
It is supposed to be something where minority rights are able to be part of the process.
What are we talking about here?
We're talking specifically about what's happening in this country when it comes to Republican policies and your support of them and the election and what's happening in the election now.
Which is what?
We haven't had the election yet.
I understand that, but when you talk about reverse Operation Chaos, what you're doing is looking to suppress the Democratic vote.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, I know, but that's so what you're looking for is less of a minority voting in the House and Senate races.
And as I said, in that manner, you're working toward tyranny of the minority.
If I were in favor of tyranny of the minority, I'd be supporting Obama.
No, no.
Obama was elected by, he's the only person in this country that had an electorate of the entire nation and he won by, what did he win by 52%?
No, he didn't win by 52%.
He won by 8%.
He won by 8%.
Now, look, Obama is in terms of support for Obama's agenda, it's a majority opposed.
Nobody wants Obama.
I'm not talking about public opinion polling.
I'm not talking about public opinion polling.
Well, if you don't, okay, then wait till the election in November.
You're going to find out next week what the American public thinks of the Obama agenda because it's on the ballot.
It's going to be smooth to cribbage smithereens.
We'll just wait and see.
Come Tuesday.
And if you elect 60%, I'm not 60%.
If you elect 60 new Republicans, they'd still be a minority, and you're looking for them to control the House.
That's what you said?
Yeah, what are you talking about?
I'm guiding force for the Republicans in the House.
So you want 60 new House members to control the majority of the rest of the House.
Don't you?
Let's see now.
I want you to realize with most hosts, you would have been vanished to the ether five minutes ago.
I'm still trying to figure this out.
Okay.
You're telling me that if the Republicans win the House, it's the tyranny of the minority that will be governing, and I'm supporting that.
When you talked in the beginning of the show about how you have problems with the idea that the Republican leadership would impose their will on the other 60%, not 60%, the other 60 new members, that that would be a problem for you.
Look, I want you to do this.
Call back on November 3rd.
We'll talk then.
I think you are profoundly confused here.
You're talking about the staffing.
You're talking about Operation Reverse Chaos.
You're talking about all these as a coordinated effort here on the part of the EIB network, and they are separate entities.
Operation Chaos has one objective.
The staffing in the House is an entirely different thing, and it relates specifically and expressly to the Tea Party and what it represents and how there are efforts in Washington to neuter the Tea Party once it gets there.
I know what you're saying.
Even if the Republicans win 60 seats, they're all Tea Party, and that's a minority in your view.
And so I am supporting 60 Republicans to totally blow up the rules of the House of Representatives, and that's the tyranny of the minority in your view.
I know what you're talking about here, but it's absurd.
It's just absurd.
Let me explain this leadership and this staffing business.
If you just are joining the program and you're listening to Clifford here in East Hartford, Connecticut, and if you haven't tuned out, I thank you.
If you're still here after listening to Clifford try to make his point about this, which I patiently waited through and now understand what's going on here, Operation Reverse Chaos is not aimed at suppressing a Democrat vote.
I mean, that would be the ultimate result of it, but that's not the aim.
Operation Reverse Chaos is an outreach to Democrats who think Hillary got the shaft in the 2008 campaign and who now realize that Obama's destroying the Democrat Party and who think Hillary might be able to save it.
And I'm just trying to say I, you know, Operation Chaos was originally designed to keep Hillary alive.
Operation Reverse Chaos is oriented toward keeping Hillary's hopes alive going forward because she was mistreated by the guy.
And the press and the guy all joined together to hit the girl.
And that was Hillary.
So Operation Reverse Chaos is for people who think Hillary got shafted.
Hillary got screwed, politically speaking, of course.
And it's her turn now.
It's rightfully her turn.
And if she wants to re the nominee for 2012 to run against Obama, the Democrats are going to have to sit home.
If she really wants to be president, 2012 is it.
Not this 2016 business.
That's too far down the road.
Anything can happen.
But 2012 is tomorrow.
And we know her ambition is to be president.
And Slick Willie's ambition is to get her back in the White House.
Out of Chappaqua, out of wherever.
You got to get her back in there.
He can be appointed envoys to a whole bunch of places and do for them what he's done for Havey, cholera, who knows whatever else.
But the only way that's going to happen is if Obama is at risk in getting the nomination himself in 2012.
And the only way that Hillary's going to have any kind of a chance is if the Democrat Party gets shellacked next week.
For Hillary to have a chance at what was rightfully hers before the old boys network in Washington got put together an Acer out of it.
Her only chance to get what was rightfully hers is for the Democrat Party to get shellacked across the board next Tuesday.
Because that would be a referendum on Obama.
And that would send a signal to the Democrats, not only have you lost Congress in 2010, that you're going to lose the White House in 2012 with this guy, but you might be able to hold on to it if Hillary is your nominee.
So, yeah, you could say it's about suppressing the vote, but for what reason?
To keep hope alive for Hillary and Bill, which was what the first Operation Chaos was about.
We're consistent here.
The intended recipient of our efforts of compassion, Hillary.
It's her turn.
Just like it was Bob Dole's turn.
It's Hillary's turn.
It was her turn in 2008.
And look what happened.
Everybody ganged up.
Look at all the black people that voted for Hillary, the first black president.
She was the first black first lady.
They all abandoned her for Obama.
Well, not all of them did, but eventually they all did.
So that's reverse operation chaos.
The second thing we have learned, ladies and gentlemen, let's just use the numbers.
Let's say there are 60 new Republicans, 60 seats that are gained.
And a large portion of those are Tea Party candidates.
We have learned that the House leadership has assigned existing staff to these potential victors under the premise that the new arrivals, the newbies, won't have any idea how Washington works once they get to the House.
They won't have any idea how anything happens.
And so to facilitate their getting up to speed, Republican leadership is going to appoint existing staff to the newbies so that really there's no lag.
There's no ground loss.
In truth, the express purpose here is to keep the newbies from bringing their own people with them.
I mean, this is politics.
The Republican leadership is going to want its agenda followed.
And what better way of doing that than to have existing staff in charge of the newbies?
And then that existing staff can spy on the newbies and report to the leadership what's happening in the newbies' offices.
Now, this is what I was talking about in the first hour that old Clifford here is referring to as the tyranny of the minority.
Now, I am not, don't let anybody misunderstand here.
This is not something unusual for political leadership to do.
I mean, the Democrats do it all the time.
Luis Gutierrez of Illinois admitted it.
The new arrivals on the Democrat side get dragged into Pelosi's office or the Speaker, and the Riot Act is read to them.
Okay, here's what's going to happen.
You want to rise in prominence in this leadership.
You want to get some fundraising outside your district.
You want to get re-elected.
Here's what you got to do.
You got to vote the way leadership tells you.
That's the way the Democrats run their shop.
It's no different.
The Republicans are going to run shop that way.
Rob Emanuel did that with the blue dogs and spades.
The difference here is that the Tea Party people are going to resist this.
They're opposing.
The reason the Tea Party exists is to oppose standard operating procedure in Washington, be it in the House or the Senate.
And so the efforts of the Republican leadership to staff the newbies with existing staff people, standard, ordinary procedure, the way things happen.
But the newbies are probably not going to go for this.
The newbies are going to want to bring their own people in, whether they know anything about how Washington works or not.
That is going to lead probably to some discussion and arguments about, well, just how much do we need to have people who know how Washington works in order to change it?
Or is the way to change it to bring people who have no idea what goes on there and just start rolling their sleeves up and getting involved in the process?
In essence, Mr. Smith goes to Washington.
It's a movie that you could look, look at, get a little bit of a microcosm about what this is all about.
Now, he's saying that this is me supporting the minority GOP, the tyranny of the majority, 60 new seats over the Republican majority.
Now, stopping Obama in the Senate, that was the third tyranny that I support.
So here you've got old Clifford here, and I'm sure there are a lot of people that agree with old Clifford that think that I am engaging here in a tyranny against existing leadership and supporting the minority.
Well, not necessarily.
I just simply understand who the Tea Party is.
I know why they exist.
I know what it was that caused them to effervesce and bubble up.
They're sick and tired of the way Washington does things.
They're particularly tired of the way liberalism does things.
And they're tired of Republicans going along with liberals for whatever reason.
That's why the Tea Party exists.
They're not going.
These Tea Party people, whoever going to win on Monday, Tuesday, they're not going there to get along with the Democrats.
They're not going there to forge bipartisanship.
That's not why they're going.
And so any effort that's made to neuter them and say, send them in that direction, this is how we get along here.
This is how things work here.
We don't really get anything done unless we work with these people.
Here's how we have to do it.
They're going to resist that.
I'm simply telling you what's going on.
Look at, folks, it's not my fault that the leadership is trying to staff the newbies with existing staff.
I'm not in charge of it.
I'm just telling you what's happening.
And it somehow makes me supporting tyranny.
The tyranny of the minority is Obama.
We are being ruled in this country by a minority, a very small minority.
Obama and liberalism in this country represents 25 to 30 percent of the thinking in this country.
We outnumber liberals in all these personal preference polls by two to one.
Why in the world are we the ones who have to act defensive about who we are?
They're the ones who ought to be explaining who the hell they are, what they're doing.
They're the ones destroying America.
By design or by accident, who cares?
That's what's happening.
And in many cases, it is by design.
But they are the ones.
You know, Obama's going to punish your enemies walking out there.
He's not interested in getting along with us.
He's not interested in compromise or anything.
He's not interested in recognizing where he's going wrong and the American people disagree with it and all that.
This is, I mean, this is in a lot of people's minds.
This is it where the future of the country is concerned.
At any rate, I must pause for an EIB obscene, ridiculously obscene profit break.
But we will be back and we will forge on.
We will continue after this.
Ha, Harry, you, welcome back.
Rush Limbaugh courageously, bravely forging forward from the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Boy, if you think Clifford was confusing, you want to read emails I'm getting from people trying to explain what they think Clifford was saying.
You think Clifford was confused?
By the way, here's Obama.
The continuation of the soundbite where he tells these Latinos to punish our enemies.
This is Obama going after McCain, his friend, John McCain.
Well, I'm disappointed too.
Many Republicans who used to support comprehensive immigration reform, like John McCain, decided not to support it.
The problem what we have is that until I can get some cooperation from the other side, then people who are anti-immigration reform can continue to block it.
And that's why this election coming up is so important because we essentially have to say that those who are politicizing the issue, who are supportive of the Arizona law, who talk only about border security but aren't willing to talk about the other aspects of this, who don't support the DREAM Act, who are out there engaging in rhetoric that is divisive and damaging, those aren't the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.
That's you, folks.
That's you.
You divisive, damaging, not the kind of folks who represent our core American values.
You support the Arizona law.
You support supporting and securing the borders, but none of the other stuff that goes along with it.
Remember now, McCain did not want to go after this man who would be the first black president because, well, it just would be unseemly.
And this predictable.
This is the thanks you get when you reach out and try to be friends with these people.
Where's the time going here?
It's the fastest three hours in media.
Actually, I've been kind of hoping it would drag because I got a photo shoot after the show today, and I hate those.
But I agree to do it.
So I've been kind of hoping this would drag on, but it hasn't.
He's going by lickety split.
Export Selection
