Now, this is the strangest thing.
I just saw, I just read that Junior Sayal, into his first year of retirement from the National Football League, was arrested on domestic violence charges and then proceeded to drive his Cadillac Escalade over a cliff.
He's in the hospital with minor bumps and bruises and some scratches, and I saw a picture of him hauling the escalade, the Cadillac Escalade, up from the cliff bottom.
Now, it just drove off a cliff.
It doesn't say on purpose or accidentally.
It says drove off a cliff after being arrested on domestic violence charges.
Junior Sayall last played for the New England Patriots.
Welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network.
Great to have you here.
Folks, let me try to inspire some confidence in you.
I know a lot of people, and I must take some blame for this.
I know that part of this is my fault.
A couple of weeks ago, when I spelled out what I think Obama's approach is going to be, blame the Republicans.
Run against the Republicans.
Much easier for Obama to win reelection by running against the opposing party.
Blame the Republicans for everything.
Here we are in the middle of an economic mess.
Obama will position himself as having all the answers, all the miraculous fixes, and the evil Republicans are going to be opposing him at every step of the way.
And he'll take that and say, see, I got all these wonderful ideas, but they won't help me.
They won't join me.
Now, a lot of you sent me emails and said, well, Rush, why should we even show up and vote then?
You thought I was being fatalistic.
I was not.
I was trying to prepare you for what's coming.
That's all.
Trying to prepare everybody for what's coming.
The Republicans are going to get blamed.
We all know this.
I mean, even now, Obama's blaming the evil empire.
Evil Empire is back.
The evil empire, us.
We're striking back.
You know, Reagan can make a joke about the evil empire, and everybody goes nuts.
Obama can do it, and the press applauds.
But let me try to infuse some optimism.
How long has Obama been blaming Bush for the economic mess that we're in?
Three years, has he not?
At least two.
During the campaign year of 2008, all during 2009, and most of this year, all of this year, Obama's been blaming Bush.
Well, now, if people believed that, wouldn't the Democrats be looking at smooth reelection?
If Obama were universally popular and loved, as he was during the 08 campaign, and if he were as successful blaming Bush, then why would the Republicans be winning anything?
See, my point is, ladies and gentlemen, Obama hasn't succeeded in blaming the Republicans.
He's done it.
I mean, he's blamed the Republicans, blamed everything on what he inherited.
He blamed it on his predecessor.
And I know what you're saying.
Yeah, but Rush, but Rush, everybody knows Bush isn't around anymore.
The Republicans are going to be in office and they are going to be the majority in the House.
Okay, fine.
I'll give you that.
But if he hasn't been able to blame all of this on Bush now, now remember, he did succeed in that as part of his ability to get elected.
Hell, a lot of Republicans agreed with him.
But he's been on this case ever since he was imaculated.
And it's clear the American people do not blame Bush for this.
If they did, Obama's popularity would be way up.
People would still love and adore him for making all these brave and courageous decisions to fix what Bush had broken.
But at this point, see, I think Obama's kind of worn out the whole blame thing.
I think the American people are tired of whining.
They don't want to be told why things are bad.
They want somebody who's going to either get out of the way and let it fix itself or who is going to help fix it.
It's almost, Obama talks about the Republicans driven a car into a ditch.
Let's look at this whole thing as a toilet that stopped up.
People don't want to know who did it.
They just want it flushed.
They don't care anymore how it happened.
Well, not true.
They don't care anymore who did it.
Just fix it.
In fact, that's one of the reasons Obama's in big trouble because he convinced everybody he was going to fix it.
Like magic.
He wasn't only going to fix it, he's going to get them a new kitchen.
He was going to get them a new car.
And not one that got 30 miles to the charge.
He was going to get them a real car.
He was going to get them a new house.
He was going to get them out of their mortgage indebtedness.
He was going to let them keep their home.
All this magic, he was going to do it.
Obama was going to fix it.
He made people think that just by showing up and being imaculated, things would magically be fixed.
Not only did that not happen, he started blaming the other guy.
People are fed up with the blame.
So I'm just telling you, Obama's going to keep doing what he's doing.
He's going to blame.
He's a narcissist.
He's a liberal.
They always blame everybody else.
I'm just telling you.
But I'm also telling you, I don't think it's going to work anymore.
Because it turns out he wasn't the one we've been waiting for.
It turns out they weren't the ones we've been waiting for.
We are.
After all this time, we're the ones that everybody's been waiting for.
Not him.
Not his idiotic jackass policies.
Us.
So just because he's going to blame the Republicans, you got to have hope.
You got to have faith.
You got to have some confidence that he isn't automatically going to get away with it.
You think people, they're Sharpton on TV.
You think people are going to buy into what Al Sharpton says?
The Reverend Jackson, the usual suspects of the Democrat Party.
Why all of a sudden, just because the Republicans win an election, are the Democrats going to have credibility?
Why is that?
How's that happen?
The Republicans win and win big, and all of a sudden the country loves Democrats again?
Let me ask you this.
Have the sea levels gone down?
Have the levels of the ocean began to fall?
No.
Are the polar bears still on those tiny little blocks of ice?
Yes.
The Democrats show us pictures of this all the time.
Look at this headline.
This is from Alaska.fws Fish and Wildlife Service.
This is a government website.
The headline is this.
Report, killer whales preying on Alaska sea otters.
No kidding.
A report by government scientists identifies killer whales as the number one reason there are so few sea otters in southwest Alaska.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's proposed five-year $15 million recovery plan for sea otters in the Aleutian Islands considered a slew of possible reasons for the low numbers found in some areas.
The draft recovery plan released this week said there is only one threat considered to have high importance, predation by killer whales, with sharks perhaps being a factor.
Your report says there may be few actions that can be taken to mitigate predation by killer whales, but the sea otter recovery program should search for solutions and be open to novel ideas.
Now, isn't this what killer whales do?
Killer whales eat sea otters.
Maybe it's time to stop saving the whales.
Maybe the problem is the whales.
Maybe the problem is we've been too busy saving the whales.
So there are so many whales that they're hungry out there.
They're eating more otters than normal.
Maybe our focus has been all wrong.
So if we're going to embark on a plan to eliminate the sea otter from the diet of the killer whale, and somebody, what the hell is a killer whale going to eat then?
And how are we going to tell the killer whales, by the way, you can't eat those otters anymore?
How are we going to get that message out?
We're going to put signs out under the surface of the ocean and we'll have to keep adjusting the signs lower because sea levels are going to keep going down.
We're going to make the dolphins tell the killer whales, by the way, you guys, you can't eat any more sea otters.
And we spent $15 million that we don't have to study something everybody knows.
School kids at Prince William Sound can tell you sea otters are eaten by killer whales.
They have seen it.
Sea otters cleaned up after the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
Symbolic sea otters sent back out to the wild.
Let the kids out of school one day.
The band's playing.
Everybody's happy.
Corn dogs are being served at the concession stands.
They roll this little otter out in a cage, release the door of the cage.
Otter swims out on its back.
It's waving at the kids.
Everything.
Ooh, look at how cute it is.
And here comes Orca out of nowhere and chomps down on the sea otter.
The band stops playing.
The kids start crying.
You look at mommy.
They say, what happened?
I don't know.
Call a Fish and Wildlife Service.
The orca didn't get the memo not to eat the sea otter.
Rush, why are you spending so much time on this?
Because it's stupid.
We're spending $15 million trying to tell nature to stop being nature.
We spent $15 million to find it.
The biggest threat to sea otters is whales and sharks, which we already knew.
And by the way, the otters know it too.
They know when they see a killer whale start paddling the other way.
We're going to put signs out there to do something.
This is just the kind of sophistry stupidity that we're having to deal with.
All over the place.
I'm just telling you, ladies and gentlemen, if Obama was going to get away with blaming Republicans, he would be getting away with it now.
Very simple.
If Obama could blame Bush for the economy when the Democrats completely control Congress in 2007, he's going to have a tough time blaming the GOP when they just control the House.
It's not automatic.
He's going to get away with it.
I was just trying to prepare you for the fact it's going to happen.
And we'll come back.
Angela Merkel.
This is incredible.
She said that Germany's attempt to create a multicultural society has utterly failed.
And it does fail every single damn time it's tried.
Everything liberals do fails.
Everything that liberals force on people, liberalism has to be forced on people.
And it always fails.
Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats, Angela Merkel said allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live side by side without integrating had not worked in a country that is home to some 4 million Muslims.
This multicultural approach has failed.
It has utterly failed.
She told a meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin.
She said too little has been required of immigrants in the past and repeated her usual line, they should learn German in order to get by in school and have opportunities on the labor market.
The debate over foreigners in Germany has shifted since former central banker Philo Sarazin published a book accusing Muslim immigrants of lowering the intelligence of German society.
Told you about that book.
So everywhere, Europe is years ahead of us, trying everything that we're going through now, and it's all crumbling.
You see what's happening in France?
They're going to lower the retirement age and there are riots because the people want the freebies they have been told they're going to get.
You can't sustain it.
Liberalism doesn't work.
It fails.
It fails people.
It fails cultures.
It fails societies.
Liberalism destroys.
Liberalism is purely and simply destructive.
And you see it everywhere.
And we are walking down the same path.
The American people have awakened and have seen it and don't want to go down that path and will not.
The blame game is over.
They don't care.
We don't care whose fault it is.
Just get out of the way and let us fix it now.
Back after this.
Kicking off a brand new wake of Broadcast Excellence.
Rush Limboy, half my brain.
Tied behind my back, just to make it fair, to Detroit.
This is Bob.
I'm glad you waved it, sir.
Welcome to the EIB Network.
Great to have you here.
Rush, how you doing, buddy?
Very good.
Thanks.
Good.
Hey, I'm still mad as hell from over two hours to go.
A local station here did an interview with Tom Dasho about the health care.
And I'm telling you, man, that guy is way out there.
He's beyond out there, you know, trying to sell that health care program.
I'm not buying it.
To me, it's like, you know, it's like chicken noodle soup, and all they have in it is chicken bullion cubes and maybe a few carrots and celery.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
I don't see the meat.
I don't see any noodles salt in there.
Wait, wait, wait, just a second here.
Okay.
What the hell is Dashell doing in Detroit?
No, he was being interviewed by our Frank Beckman here, our radio talk show just before you come on.
Yeah, I understand that, but I mean, was he doing?
I don't know if he was here.
No, no.
Let me finish.
What's he doing selling health care?
Oh, I don't know, but I tell you, I was just leaving the house and I turned it on and I was in the middle towards the end of it.
And he was, Frank was just going toe-to-toe with him.
And he couldn't come up with facts.
And then Frank mentioned a part about his brother coming down with that cancer.
He was overseas in Japan.
And he brought him back to this country for medical care.
And Frank says, was it because we have the best care here?
And he wouldn't answer that.
Oh, I don't know.
You know.
You know, I think this is quite illustrative of something.
The health care bill's passed.
It's the law of the land.
And Tom Daschell is in Detroit selling it.
Meanwhile, Democrats are running against it all over the country, want no part of it, and yet Dashel is in Detroit, Detroit.
Why do they have to sell anything on Obama in Detroit?
There aren't any jobs there.
They're bulldozing houses, but still they're voting Democrat there.
Why in the world is Dashel in Detroit selling health care?
I mean, that's as big an indication of how lost these people are.
I mean, this is orderly the law of the land.
Anyway, Bob, thanks for the call.
Appreciate it.
Randy in Asheville, North Carolina, you're next.
Hi.
Hey, Rush.
Great honor to talk to you.
Thank you very much, sir.
I also want to ask you, why isn't there pressure on Nancy Pelosi to step down as Speaker of the House for the good of her party?
In other words, where's her sacrifice to the cause?
Why isn't there similar requests on the part of Obama to step aside to save his party?
No, for Nancy Pelosi to step down as Speaker.
She's not alone.
Obama's doing a good job destroying the party, and so is Harry Reid.
Well, I agree, but you know, there was the Republican pundits who were saying, you know, Christine O'Donnell is going to jeopardize the GOP's chance for getting the Senate.
But I can make a greater argument that Pelosi is hurting her party from keeping the House.
I mean, because these Democrats are out here having to run against the Republican ponet, but also having her as sort of, you know, the ugly stepchild that keeps rearing her head and whiten their internal pressure to get her to say, you know, I'll step down just to at least mitigate the loss of seats that they're going to lose.
Well, I'm trying to think of an analogy here.
Okay.
Where is the clamor in North Korea for Kim Jong-il to step aside?
Point taken.
Yeah, I mean, who's going to do this?
Well, you're right.
I'm sure a lot of Democrats are privately running around cursing her.
I mean, as I said earlier, there are Democrats who have, their political careers are on the verge of being over because of Obamacare, because she pushed them to vote for it.
And we warned them, a lot of blue dogs, we warned them.
You tie yourself to Pelosi and your career is finished.
But that's nobody's going to demand that she step aside.
I mean, that would be great if it did, but we can't just don't expect that.
Bloomfield, Connecticut, this is Judy.
You're next.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hi.
Hey, Rush, how you doing?
I just love you.
You're about the only thing that stood between me and an aneurysm the last two years.
I wanted to respond to the lady that called and said, how do we keep them from winning in 2012?
And I have two thoughts.
And the first one is that I think that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, who are wonderful men and are trying to represent us as best they can, I think they need to step aside and let Paul Ryan, Michelle Bachman, Eric Cantor, hopefully Sean Bilak, Christine O'Donnell, Sharon Angle.
They need to step aside and let these young congresspeople get their word out.
That's not going to happen.
You're not going to have these guys say, you know what, we're the problem, and we're going to turn it over to these guys who are the success.
They're going to have to be forced out.
This is not this is not how it happens.
You found two calls in a row who wonder why people don't quit.
Step aside.
It isn't going to happen.
They're going to have to be forced out.
These guys are not going to say, yep, we're the problem, so we'll leave.
Give me soundbites seven again.
At least when I go to the soundbites, and I don't want it right now, but I'm going to have it standing by.
Look, why don't all the hosts at MSNBC resign?
Why don't all the talent at CNN resign?
And why doesn't Obama resign?
Why do all these people step aside?
By the way, I fell out of what Dashel's doing.
Dashel has a book out.
Dashel is on a book promotion tour.
That's what he was doing with Frank Beckman of WJR.
It didn't make sense.
I mean, his Obama, I know he was originally going to be one of the healthcare guys, but to be running around now selling healthcare, it doesn't make any sense.
I know he was doing that, I'm sure, as part of his book.
But what he's doing is selling his book.
And let's just keep a sharp eye on how many copies of his lame book Dashel sells.
I'll be very, very interested in that.
Who's next?
Rob in Greenville, South Carolina.
Hi, and welcome to the EIB Network.
Greetings, Rush.
24-7, Dittos and Respect.
Thank you, sir, very much.
On the website, Hot Air today, there was a link to an interview with Bloomberg where Transportation Secretary LaHood says that he may push for an all-out ban on the practice of cell phones in cars, even if it's conducted with hands-free technology.
Yeah, I didn't specifically see that, but I'm not surprised because I think it's been trending in this direction.
Well, here's my question, Rush.
Does that mean that the police and fire departments have to give up using their car radios?
No.
Will FedEx and UPS have to give up communicating with their drivers?
Maybe.
Well, probably not.
So, how many lives have been saved because people have been able to use their cell phones to call in traffic access?
Yeah, see, it's not about saving lives.
That's just the smoke screen.
It's not about saving lives.
What do you think the real reason might be that a federal government, a massive government, might be interested in forcing people to not use their cell phones as much?
Remember now, this is not an isolated incident.
Cell phones created danger while driving.
For the years, they have been telling us that cell phones cause brain cancer.
They have been trying to scare us out of using our cell phones for a long time.
Why do you think that might be?
I'll have to defer to you, Rush.
Cell phones, like automobiles, are a singular expression and illustration of unlimited freedom.
Cell phones allow people to organize.
People of similar viewpoints organize, plan meetings, and so forth to, say, oppose the government.
Totalitarian states, authoritarian states, statists wish to limit the communicative abilities of the population as much as possible.
They try to, well, look at the old Soviet Union.
Look at how much news do you think there is in North Korea?
How much real news do you think there is in communist China?
How much news is there in Cuba?
To authoritarian statist regimes, the free flow of information is the greatest threat to their existence.
So, here come cell phones, automobile accidents, hands-free.
Yep, big danger.
Too many people texting, too many people making phone calls.
We got to make, and isn't practically everything liberals do oriented toward making the world safer?
Like incandescent light bulbs going away for compact fluorescence and these little smart cars and electric cars and hybrid cars that get squished by bigger trucks and so forth.
The whole quest to make people safer actually ends up killing more people.
Liberalism, socialism, communism is responsible for more deaths than cell phones could ever hope to be.
Liberalism, socialism, communism responsible for more deaths than cancer.
Yet everything they do is predicated on saving us from ourselves.
Everything they do is predicated on keeping us safe.
Michelle, my butt, Michelle Mabel Obama, out there talking about nutrition.
You can't eat that.
You shouldn't eat that.
She's making field trips to food manufacturers, trying to force them to alter the way they manufacture food.
The mayor of New York demanding that you cannot eat trans fats or salt or what have you.
All of this under the guise of what?
Making us healthier, making us safer.
But what has to happen?
We all have to lose some freedom for this stuff to be successful.
We have to give up the freedom to use our cell phone, which in an emergency comes in pretty handy in a car.
We all have to give up sugared soft drinks.
Our kids cannot get subsidized school lunches if vending machines selling potato chips are going to be on site.
All of this designed to make us healthier or to protect us, to make us safer.
And yet, for all of it to happen, we have to give up some freedom or we have to see it taken away from us rather than give it up.
How long have they been studying whether or not cell phones cause brain cancer for crying out loud, folks?
How long have they been studying this?
And isn't there a new study every year that makes it even more and more possible?
And isn't it every year it becomes more and more frightening?
Brain tumors and cancer and other types of cancer could be from extended cell phone use.
And now automobile accidents.
Even if you are on a hands-free phone, it's not guaranteed to protect you from an accident.
Yet, we would not have the safe air traffic control system we have in this country were it not for continuous radio communications between the pilots and the ground controllers.
Even when airplanes land, they have to contact ground control at airports for taxi instructions.
Pilots and co-pilots are in constant quasi-cell phone communication with somebody during flights, particularly takeoff and landing, and taxiing.
Now, you would think that we would have to take radios out of airplanes because the pilots being distracted, and those are hands-free.
They're not actually holding the radio communications gear in their hand.
It's all hands-free.
So is it really about phones distracting people and causing accidents?
When's the last time you heard of an accident being caused by somebody on the phone in the car?
Most accidents are because SUVs take over and wipe out somebody, right?
Accidents involving SUVs, traditionally reported as though the driver doesn't even exist.
I'm being facetious here.
But just stop and think.
Every time one of these proposals comes along to make us safer, to make us healthier, in order for it to happen, we must give up either voluntarily or by force some freedom.
I have said it time and time again.
As in the case of cell phones, the issue is never the issue.
Okay, so LaHood goes out there and says, well, cell phones, they're dangerous.
We need to ban cell phones.
That's not the issue.
Cell phones are not the issue.
There's something else going on.
They either want to raise taxes to use your cell phone, or there's something more nefarious than that, and that is limit your ability to use the cell phone, period, because they don't like all the extended communication ability a cell phone provides.
But the issue is never the issue.
Remember when they said the SUV has to be banned?
The issue is never the issue.
That's global warming.
The issue is never the issue.
There's always something else.
Folks, the Heritage Foundation has just put out one of the best modern day answers to the question, why is America exceptional?
Now, we know America is exceptional, but in the rhetoric and conversation, being able to clearly answer the question of why sometimes gets complicated.
You know, I have my theory.
A lot of people think American exceptionalism means we're better people than everybody else.
And that's not what it means.
To Heritage, it's real simple.
This nation was created with a creed that states that all men possess certain rights and that government derives its powers from the consent of the governed.
That's why you and I believe this nation is so exceptional.
It was the first founded under such a premise.
But some people in positions of leadership today don't seem to think the same way.
Now, today is the first day that you can join Heritage Foundation as a member and receive a free copy of Why is America Exceptional?
It's also available to the 700,000 person strong membership of Heritage 2.
So if you're already a member, you get it.
It's not a bait and switch.
I honestly believe it's in the best interests of our country to support organizations like Heritage, organizations that provide the quality and the quantity of truthful information in the ear of spin coming from the left.
So make yourself a member.
Go to askheritage.org.
That's where you do it.
Become a member.
Heritage will send a copy of this new release.
It doesn't cost much.
Start its membership start at $25 a year.
And you would then have access to some of the finest, consistent, conservative thinking on the planet.

Welcome to the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Russ.
Thank you for taking my call.
Thank you.
I just have a question, a what should I do question?
I am a teacher in the same school my son attends, and his teacher is having the class and him write an essay on how to help Obama advance his agenda.
I obviously did not want him to write this.
So I took the teacher aside and I said, look, I don't want my son to write this.
She's actually a friend of mine.
I said, come on, you know how I stand.
Please don't do this.
I don't want him to get an F.
It's not right what you're doing.
And I think other parents are going to complain.
No other parents complained.
And if he doesn't do it, he's going to get an F. I'm afraid, since I'm not tenured, that if I make too much noise or I go to the principal, that it could affect my job.
I could lose my job.
But I don't want to not do anything and show my son that we just sit back and we take whatever the liberals give us.
Yeah.
It's a toughie.
So here's, you're afraid of losing your job.
You're afraid of your son being punished.
You're afraid of being a lone woman there.
Yeah.
So what can you do?
The assignment is to write an essay on how to help Obama accomplish his agenda.
Yes.
Is that the assignment?
Yes, that's the assignment.
Write a paper with the premise that it's impossible for Obama to achieve his agenda and for America to remain America.
I mean, just tackle it head on.
Really?
Okay.
Tackle it head on.
Okay, you want my kid to write an essay on how to advance Obama's agenda, and I'm going to write on what would happen if that did happen.
And we'd lose America.
So he fulfills the assignment.
He writes something unique.
And then if he gets punished, he's punished for content and the way he's thinking, not for lack of completion of the assignment.
And then you have a reason to make a case that your kid is being singled out for what he believes.
That your teacher is trying to indoctrinate him into a certain kind of belief.
And that's not what education is.
Education is education, it's not indoctrination.
So if you believe, and if your son believes that Obama's agenda is harmful, write an essay on that.
Okay.
That's what I would do.
And then apply to Hillsdale College when you get kicked out.
You know, that's exactly what I would do.
I just ram it back down their throats.
If you feel that outnumbered and you don't want to lose tenure, I would just complete the assignment on the basis that the premise is wrong.
Just don't accept the premise, but you'll do the assignment.
You'll do the essay.
Okay.
Don't insult the teacher in the essay.
Don't insult the teacher.
Take it seriously.
I believe Obama's agenda would harm the country if it passes.
And here's why.
This is why I will not help advance the agenda.
That's great advice.
I know.
That's what I mean.
That's what I would do.
Now, it's easy for me to say it's not my son and I'm not you in the school.
It's much easier for me.
I know it's probably a daunting thing to actually do, but that's what I would do in that situation.
It's the hard thing to, I mean, I feel like I'm the only conservative in that school, and I see what the teachers do, and it gets me upset.
And it's one of the reasons I became a teacher because I want the kids to learn the right way, to learn objectively, to learn about the Constitution and how our country was founded and the greatness of America.
And I'm trying to undo all the indoctrination that I see teaching.
Oh, okay.
Then this is made to order.
You're trying to undo it.
Then do it in the belly of the beast.
Do it in response to this indoctrination attempt.
Stand your ground.
You want to try to indoctrinate my kid?
We're going to try to indoctrinate you.
We don't think the agenda is right.
We don't get for America.
That's what I would do.
That's what I would do.
That's good advice.
Thank you.
I was looking for something because my husband said, no, don't do anything.
Just let it go.
Well, see, I know that's the easy thing.
Don't make waves.
Don't confront authority this way.
Your son is young.
This is just one teacher.
Let's not.
But you know me.
I mean, I just, this kind of stuff, I just, I couldn't take it.
If I had a kid in this circumstance, this would not fly.
And I'd find a way to smack them right in the face with their own idea.
