Well, early indications are that one of the things uh the leader of the regime is going to announce when he does come out and speak this afternoon after meeting the BP guys is that the Pazar, Kenneth Feinberg is going to be in charge of dispersing the 20 billion dollars in escrow money to people in the Gulf.
So the Pazar gets double duty.
Greetings, my friends, and welcome back, Rush Limbaugh.
Great to have you here.
Excellence in Broadcasting Network 800-282-2882.
If you want to be on the program, here's also what Joe Biden said back about Obama.
He said, Mark my words, and this was at Seattle.
It's not going to be six months before the world tests Obama like they did John Kennedy.
The world is looking.
We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old Senator President of the U.S. Remember I said it standing here.
If you don't remember anything else I said, watch, we're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis to test the metal of this guy in the first six months.
So obviously Biden wasn't talking about an oil leak that he knew was going to happen because the leak didn't happen the first six months.
And I don't think there was a generated crisis.
But more on that here in just a second.
Thomas Sowell has a great piece out about something pretty similar to that.
Now, speaking of Jimmy Carter, in 1979, the Department of Energy was created by Jimmy Carter.
Do you realize that's how recent it is?
Thirty-one years ago.
And what was the purpose of the Department of Energy?
It was to end the U.S. dependence on foreign sources of oil and transition us to renewable energy sources.
Thirty-one years ago.
What has happened?
What has happened to all the money that's been flushed down that hole over the last 31 years?
For 31 years we've been working on renewable energy, reducing our dependence on foreign oil.
So what's uh 1977, I'm sorry, nine two years.
It's been 33 years.
So the point is, what would have been what do we what do we get for it?
The the Department of Uh of uh of Energy's budget for 2010 is 26.4 billion dollars.
And what do we have?
We have we have energy star appliances and all these what we got curly Q little light bulbs.
26.4 billion dollars this year.
Thomas Sowell.
This is a killer piece.
The big oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is bad enough in itself, but politics can make anything worse.
Let's stop and think.
Either the government knows how to stop the oil spill or it doesn't.
If they know how to stop it, then why have they let thousands of barrels of oil per day keep gushing out for weeks on end?
All they have to do is tell BP to step aside, all the government comes in to do it right.
If they don't know, then what is all this political grandstanding about, keeping their boot on the neck of BP, the attorney general going down to the Gulf to threaten lawsuits on what charges were unspecified, and Obama showing up in his shirt sleeves.
If they don't know what to do, why is any of that going on?
Just what is Obama gonna do in his shirt sleeves except impress the gullible?
He might as well have shown up at a tuxedo with white tie for all the difference it makes.
And here's the killer point.
This government's not about governing.
It's about creating an impression.
And that worked on the campaign trail in 2008, but it's a disaster in the White House, where rhetoric is no substitute for reality.
Boy, Seoul is great.
This is about creating an impression.
This is not about oil, it's about snake oil.
But creating political impressions and images is not the same thing as governing.
Yet Obama in the White House keeps on saying and doing things to impress people instead of governing.
However impressed the media and the Obama cult might be with the president's image, rhetoric, and style, leaders of other countries, allies and enemies alike, are interested in results.
Even our domestic policies can affect foreign leaders.
Ronald Reagan's breaking of the air traffic controller strike impressed the Russians with what kind of man they were gonna have to deal with.
As former Soviet officials said publicly many years later, by the same token, domestic bungling by Obama sends a dangerous signal to countries hostile to us, in addition to the signal sent by his displays of amateurism on the world stage.
If no American commitment can be depended upon in subsequent administrations, then any nation that allies itself with us is jeopardizing its own national security because dangers in the international jungle last longer than four years or even eight years.
And we are already seeing the consequences.
Even Turkey, formerly a NATO ally, cozying up to Iran.
Now that it's painfully clear Obama's not going to do anything that has any realistic chance of stopping Iran from going nuclear.
So people are going to want to sidle up to Ahmedini Zad so that he doesn't nuke them.
If leaders of other nations can't depend on the United States, then they need to make the best deals they can with our enemies.
They understand that preserving his nation's security is a leader's top priority even if Obama doesn't.
Thomas Sowell in a column published on the 15th of June, just a couple of days ago.
You know, there are there are other things going on in the news besides all this.
Well, there are.
I mean, here, let me get some of the headlines.
And I oh, I gotta do this art laugher piece before this show wins.
I promised yesterday I was gonna go through this.
This is from uh June the 7th, when I when I started a honeymoon, and I read it on the way out of town, and it's just it's right on the money, and it's something that of all the stuff going on, this is what you need to know.
I'll get to it.
But look at this.
Reuters.
Study explores teenage boys' huge appetites.
My exact response, snurredly, we need a study for this.
That teenage boys eat a lot.
Parents of teenage boys now have evidence to back up the claim that they could be eaten out of house and home with a U.S. study finding that 14 to 17-year-old boys will eat a lunch of 2,000 calories given the chance.
Like we needed these idiots to study this.
Go talk to any mother who has two or three teenage boys, and find out what kind of work it is to keep the refrigerator stocked and how often you have to go to the store to make that happen.
For crying out loud, we're studying this.
This reminds me, snerdly, reminds me way back days years ago.
I learned the government was gonna spend something like two million dollars to study whether or not Eskimos swap wives.
And I would have said, I can tell you for 50,000.
You don't need to do the study.
It's just we are we're so helpless.
They really can eat, Yanovsky noted, adding that as long as teenage boys were healthy and normal weight, a sudden surge in eating should not be alarming.
Well, of course, but we have this all combined with these stories about obesity, everybody, all these helpless parents out there now.
But there's an obesity problem, my boys won't stop eating.
My boys won't stop eating.
Then a companion story from uh AOL News.
Record number of U.S. kids facing summer of hunger.
With the scrual year ending in communities across America, more than 16 million children face a summer of hunger.
Now, Michelle Obama told us they're all so fat and out of shape and overweight that a summer off from government eating might be just the ticket.
Could it be possible?
While classes were in session, they relied on free or discount.
And this, of course, takes into no account that the parents, I guess, just gonna sit around and let their kids starve.
Why, if the kids don't do it, they're gonna starve.
If the schools don't do it, the kids are gonna starve.
The children caught in the gap will likely spend the next few months caging leftovers from their neighbors chowing down on cheap junk, lining up with their families at food banks.
They're already overmatched or simply learning to live with a constant headache, growling stomach, and chronic fatigue.
When school rolls around again in the fall, they'll be less healthy and less ready to learn than their peers.
God, it's ins.
This is this is just insane.
We can't escape these people.
We just can't escape them.
They live in the utter deniability of basic human nature.
They actually have it in their heads somehow that parents are so rotten that they will let their kids go hungry and starve.
Unless the schools take care of it.
And then this was breaking news from Reuters today at about 7.30 this morning.
Housing starts and permits tumble in May.
This is breaking news, which means it was a shock.
Now I am not sure how this is breaking news because even the most economically challenged could have figured this out.
Somebody at Reuters at least uh figured out last month's growth number was only because of the tax credit.
U.S. housing starts fell more than expected in May to their lowest level in five months, as a popular home buyer tax credit that had buoyed construction activity over the past two months expired.
Breaking news.
We didn't see this coming, did we?
We were all shocked and stunned and amazed when this news hit.
Jack Weld.
Oh, uh-oh.
Here's our future.
Headline.
And this is not sure the source of this, but it's a British paper because there everything is in pounds here.
The headline says it all, Greek hospitals near meltdown as government can't pay for supplies.
Hello, Obamacare.
And yesterday, 51% of employer plans are going to go by the wayside because they don't meet Obamacare standards.
Told you that was going to happen.
Greece owes $6.4 billion to hospital suppliers.
Until they come up with the money, pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies are supplying only basic supplies.
Doctors warn that patients will begin to die soon if the government does not resolve debt payments with suppliers.
And it's not the doctors killing patients.
It's not the hospitals.
It's the government who doesn't have the money to pay for these supplies.
You know, one of the uh one of the benefits of school being out, and in addition to your kids losing weight because they're starving to death out there because there's no school meal being provided.
One of the benefits school being out, college camp eye being vacant this time of year, is that our audience levels go up.
And I think you know what we're gonna do here?
We're gonna start a feature on this program where to find food.
Uh for young demographics, where to find food now that school is out, where to find food.
We can have a daily feature on this.
And this will take us all the way through the summer.
Where to find food.
And of course, the first will be try your house.
It's a thing called the refrigerator.
You probably already know about it.
Try looking there.
There are also things in what's called the kitchen of your house, called cupboards.
And in those cupboards, most likely, you're gonna find ding dongs, twinkies, lay's ridgey potato chips, all kinds of dip, and maybe a can of corn that you don't want.
But it will be there.
If that doesn't work, try a happy meal at McDonald's.
You know where McDonald's is.
There's the dollar menu at McDonald's, and if they don't have chicken McNuggets, dial 911 and ask for Obama.
Um there's another place if none of these options work to find food.
There's always the neighborhood dumpster.
Now you might find competition with homeless people there, but there are videos that have been produced to show you how to healthfully dine and how to dumpster dive and survive until school kicks back up in August.
Can you imagine the benefit we would provide people?
Well, in addition to all this, we have a we have expanding audience levels.
They go up even further.
Rush babies in school, and even those of you slightly older can take in a full three hours of the Limbaugh Institute here with no professor interruptions.
Because school is out.
What a great way to continue your education in a way that you'll actually love it.
Given all the turmoil in our world and all the serious problems not being administered in the proper ways by the current regime, there's no question why you all gather here.

The great people, a great institution, and you can have your very own access to it at Rush for Hillsdale.com.
Oh no, before we go back to the phones, you gotta hear this.
A couple of audio sound bites.
Um I'm I'm at home yesterday, uh well, after the program, and I'm and I eagerly awaiting the uh uh arrival of Abby, because I want to see Abby get along with a new puppy.
And so I'm at the computer, and I get this email that uh David Furnish, who is Elton John's partner, has spoken to People Magazine.
They were in New York on Sunday, I guess Furnish was for the Tony Awards, and uh Furnish was asked about Elton John appearing in performance at uh Catherine's and my wedding, and Fernish said, Ah, it was uh Elton had a wonderful time.
He likes building bridges.
This isn't people.com.
So on WABC TV New York eyeball 7, the entertainment correspondent Sandy Kenyon reported this about the latest development.
Elton John's partner says the performer was a little surprised by an invitation to perform at Rush Limbaugh's wedding because the conservative host has often opposed gay rights.
But Sir Elton accepted because life is about building bridges, not walls, to use his words.
David Furnish couldn't attend the ceremony, but he tells people.com his famous partner saw it as a way to go where people wouldn't expect him to go.
The Limbaughs were said to be very gracious, gay activists, very, very upset.
And doesn't that say it all?
And who's opposed to gay rights?
I just don't think that.
You know, marriage is a man and a woman is for instance like two and two equals four.
It so happens President Obama agrees with me on that, as does Elton John.
He says, I don't need marriage, civil unions is what we're about.
Anyway, they're just they're just fit to be tight over this because uh David Furnish actually said a lot more.
So yeah, they're gonna come have dinner with us in England when they're flying through here, and uh uh at a great time, very appreciative.
Uh Rush and Catherine were just extremely gracious and kind, they have great friends that we had at Elton met and so forth, so That just irritates them all the more.
Oh.
Oh, he's just two hours and fifteen minutes.
Well, let's jip it.
Our microphones are there.
Uh the leader of the regime is now telling us how he dressed down the BP officials.
This discussion today was essential.
Currently, under federal law, there is a $75 million cap on how much oil companies could under certain circumstances be required to pay for economic damages resulting from a spill such as this.
But that amount obviously would be insufficient.
And that's why I'm pleased to announce that BP has agreed to set aside $20 billion to pay claims for damages resulting from this spill.
Right.
Well, this $20 billion will provide substantial assurance of the claims people and businesses have will be honored.
Yeah.
It's also important to emphasize this is not a cap.
The people of the Gulf have my commitment.
Take him down for just a second.
The key to this, though, is that for those of you in the Gulf that got to go get your portions 20 billion, you got to go through him, not BP.
You got to go through the bureaucracy of the regime in order to get your share of the 20 billion.
I can't wait till that happens.
Or doesn't.
All right, bring the leader back up for a minute.
Another important element is that this $20 billion fund will not be controlled by either BP or by the government.
Oh.
It will be put in an escrow account administered by an impartial independent third party.
Who?
So if you or your business has suffered an economic loss as a result of this.
I thought it was going to be this Feinberg guy.
That was the initial report.
This fund does not supersede either individuals' rights or finance.
Yep, yep, yep, yep.
Yahoo.
Big deal.
Look at that.
Up on MSNBC, they actually have a small little postage stamp picture of the oil leaking into the Gulf while Obama was giving his speech.
But there was a graphic next to it said essentially Obama, I make my commitment to you that I will fix this.
Now, when we last heard from the leader of the regime, he said that an independent third-party person will be handling the $20 billion payout to people in the Gulf of Mexico.
Independent third party.
Now I had heard that it was going to be Kenneth Feinberg, who is the pay Pazar.
Well, it turns out it is Feinberg.
Now the New York Times is saying that Feinberg is still being charge, but not in his government capacity.
What?
Not in his an independent third party.
The guy works for Obama.
He's a czar, but somehow this thing is going to be sloughed off to some independent agency that he's going to head up?
How stupid do they think we are, folks?
Now here are my questions.
You know what's funny?
It was just last week.
Congressional Democrats said they wanted BP to set aside 20 billion dollars.
Where did this figure come from?
And will the same people be administering this as who administered TARP money?
Look, the government's in charge of this.
I want to know who's going to get it.
Who's going to get this money?
Union activists?
Acorn people?
Who's going to get this money?
Let's keep a sharp eye on who Feinberg gives this money to.
Because I'm telling you every time this is just a this another bailout fund called something else, and we'll see who gets it.
If Obama's past is prologue, and it is, then this is going to be used as a little miniature slush fund.
And that's why he's bragging about it being third-party independent, so forth and so on.
That uh uh are promised a portion of this to make yourselves somewhat whole for the damage being caused by the oil leak.
I want you to keep a sharp eye on who gets the money.
Because in the past, it's been whoever are big supporters of Obama.
It's been used to buy votes to shore up political support.
In this case, acorn type people or union activists.
Meanwhile.
Meanwhile, my friends, who is investigating Obama And his staff and his administration for any damage they may have caused by their incompetence, by their delays, and by their policies.
Oh, yeah, let's look at BP by all means.
But who's gonna look at this bunch of incompetence?
What gives them the right to sit here in royal control over everybody else as experts over what everybody else does?
When are we gonna start investigating them?
Who's gonna look into their incompetence?
Who's gonna investigate where this 20 billion dollars is really going to go?
See, herein lies the problem, my friends.
The government had and has a major role in the damage being done to people.
Not the oil slick.
I mean, the Obama administration has caused havoc.
They have worsened an economy.
They have shrunk the private sector.
That means there's less opportunity for people.
So this regime has had a major role in damage being done to people, but rather than being held to account, they act like they're on our side.
All of a sudden, you know, Obama's on our side.
Obama is the single greatest threat the country has, not BP.
The regime poses a single greatest threat to our economy and it's rebirth than BP does or any other oil company.
Well, what do you mean, snur?
Very simple.
You got a six-month moratorium on oil drilling everywhere in this country, offshore.
This is gonna devastate the Gulf Coast economy.
120,000 jobs are at stake here.
Where's the fund for that?
Where's the fund for all the jobs that are gonna be lost because of this regime's policies?
We're gonna get any money from Obama's book royalties.
Are we gonna get any money from the environmental groups or the Democrat National Committee?
Why in Henry Waxman doing any hearings on any of this?
No, no, no.
I'm I'm I'm dead serious about this.
I'm sick and tired of it.
Every time something like this happens, the entire private sector gets damaged, accused.
And a guy like Obama and his like-minded people come up and say, We're gonna fix her, we're gonna put 20 billion dollars here, we're gonna extract her from the company, and it's gonna go to their cronies.
It's gonna be a slush fund.
Meanwhile, these guys are doing more damage to you and me and the economy and the future of this country, your kids and grandkids, than BP could ever hope to.
And nobody investigates them.
And nobody even looks at it this way.
I wonder if people who make over 250 grand a year will get any money from BP here.
I mean, that's rich.
You know, a lot of people working the Gulf, where the fisheries, the waterways, and so forth out of their lives.
I wanna think some of them earn more than 250K.
Will they get assistance?
I wonder.
We keep hearing about restaurants down there.
French quarter restaurants, New Orleans, all the way down to Mississippi, Alabama.
Uh oil workers eat in restaurants, don't they?
There aren't gonna be any oil workers in a very short amount of time because of this regime.
Because there's a moratorium out there on offshore drilling.
Yes, I'm fuming.
It just infuriates me.
We get this.
I'm good.
I'm good.
I'm gonna fix that for everybody.
I'm gonna make sure the people cause all these problems, they're gonna pay.
And I'll have a third-party people, third party person, you're gonna administer all these people.
Could we take a look at you, maybe?
You want to talk about the incompetence of the BE BP executives tweet?
Fine, go ahead.
Look into it.
I want to look into the incompetence of the regime's leaders.
Because it's striking.
By the way, folks, we're gonna move forward here, probably on where to find food this summer.
If you're a child to be soon starving because your school is closed, and you find no other way to eat.
Where's this at a preliminary stages?
But you know, we do the beta version, it's with you.
Here's uh just one of the intros to intro this forthcoming segment, just so you can hear what it sounds like.
Now, as a special service to America's hungry teenage boys, here's Rush Limbaugh with Where to Find Food.
And we'll do Yeah, I like it.
I I like it.
Uh, and and uh we'll have multiple places each and every day.
it's we care.
We're trying to make a difference here at the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
It's that simple.
And we're not going to sit here and stand idly by while teenagers starve simply because school is out.
I can't, in good conscience, do that.
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
This is Kate.
I'm glad you waited.
You're on the EIB network, and hello.
Hey, Rush.
Good afternoon.
How are you today?
Very well, thank you.
Well, listen, first thing I have to say is congratulations to you and Catherine for a lifetime of happiness with those three little fuzzballs you've got to.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Well, I was on hole for another purpose, but um I heard you talk about the fact that you thought that Jimmy Carter has to be darn happy about this Gulf disaster because his reputation as the worst modern era history, you know, president has to be saved now, right?
But I figure there's got to be another president who's really happy.
Don't you think this has to retire slick willy?
Uh oil slick?
Well, it's a great line.
But I'm in in truth, I really I don't I don't think uh that that Clinton at all thinks he's anywhere near the worst president ever.
Carter knows he is.
And now with with Obama coming along here, Carter can rest easy.
Carter Carter can finally there's somebody worse than I am, he's saying it's but Clinton's ego is such that I mean, I'm sure he still looks at at Obama as this interloping intruder who stood in his and Hillary's way.
Greatness.
I mean, there's you know, Clinton doesn't sit around to think about how bad his presidency was.
Uh Jimmy Carter can't escape it.
I mean, it's just certain things are just obvious.
Appreciate Kate the phone call.
Told you about this thing in Appleton, Wisconsin yesterday.
Prosecutors preparing to file more charges, anger rises against three people accused of using the names of fallen Wisconsin service members to write bad checks.
The mother of Rachel Boesveld, a soldier from Wapen, says that she is appalled by the scam.
Now she had hoped to spend Memorial Weekend celebrating her daughter's life and service.
Instead, she sped it, wondering whether Rachel's identity was stolen.
She says that the cops didn't tell her until this week they believe Tina Mitcham and Milwaukee stole her daughter's identity.
Mitchum appeared along with Bobby McLeod and James Larson of Green Bay on identity theft charges in O'Neill County Court on Tuesday.
So this identity theft business is a serious problem.
Oh, have you heard look?
I don't I don't mean to throw dirt on things here, but the the they were overwhelmed at the ATT in Apple sites yesterday.
They this honest to God, they said it's the most demand they have ever faced, and it was unanticipated.
They said they sold 600, they took 600,000 orders yesterday, and they weren't capable of it.
They just I don't know how they misinterpreted it, but but they did.
But the process, something happened at the server level, and certain people, when they when they logged on, ended up being shown as somebody else, so you were able to find somebody else's account information.
If you happen to succeed in getting through yesterday, either at the ATT site or Apple site.
Now, uh, you know, this this nobody wants this.
This was not purposeful.
I don't know if it was a hack or whatever, but that's how easy your identity can be stolen.
Inadvertently.
And it's not something you want to play with, and there's a place that you can go, a company you can use to take the best insurance you can get, and that if somebody steals your identity, they won't get away with it.
It's called life lock.
They have the best identity alert system going.
It's folks, it it's it's ridiculously inexpensive.
They protect your information, they will not sell it like their competitors do.
And they will give you 10% off your membership if you use the offer code name Rush when you call 800-440-4833.
800-440-4833 in the offer code Rush.
More and more People's lives are documented uh digitally now, and these kinds of accidental screw-ups happen combined with the purposeful attempts by people to steal identities, there's no reason not to have yourself protected, and it hardly costs anything.
It's 1-800-440-4833 offer code Rush.
All right, so I checked the email during the break.
Are you really serious, Rush, about investigating Obama?
Come on, then you know that's never gonna happen.
I am dead serious.
I know it's never gonna happen, but look, would somebody explain to me exactly what purpose is served by Obama demonizing BP?
Seriously now.
Demonizing BP, demonizing private sector, the standard operating procedure, it's easy.
My question is, is Obama such a slave to Saul Alinsky that he can't do anything without first creating a bogeyman?
Let me ask you a very simple question.
There's not an oil company in this world that can take a step without permission from some government regulatory agency.
There is not an oil company in this world that can do one thing without permission from some government authority.
So you tell me, what did Transocean or what did BP ever do on the Deepwater Horizon rig that they didn't have the direct approval of the regulators of the federal government at the MMS?
I don't care whether there was collusion going on, I don't care whether it was incompetent people, but you tell me what did BP do without the approval of the federal government's regulators?
They couldn't do a thing without any improval.
Now, we know that Obama got a billion dollars or a hard, I don't know, billion, a lot of money from these people.
And we know that some of the regulators look the other way at this rig, and yet Obama still wants to make them the bogeyman.
There is not an oil, I can't I can't emphasize this enough.
There's not an oil company in the world that can do diddly squat without permission from a regulator.
The oil business is not a free market.
You know, accidents happen.
If Obama had ever held a real job or ever tried to do anything in the real world, he would know this.
Instead, he's busily trying to destroy the one company that can fix the problem, the one company that'll pay for the cleanup and the reparations.
If we wipe out BP's stock value, if we bankrupt them, where will the money come from to clean this up and to pay reparations?
Somebody explain this to me.
And more important is the message this sends to other companies.
I just saw the BP, a chief executive of the chairman, he came out of this meeting with Obama.
You know what he said?
He first congratulated the president for having such great care and concern for the people of the Gulf.
Now, excuse me.
Don't we assume that the president of the United States, any president will have great concern and care for the people of the entire country, no matter what disaster where?
Why does that have to be stated?
I'll tell you why.
Because what went on in this meeting that went on far longer than 20 minutes was Chicago thugocracy.
I guarantee you the riot act was read to these people.
And the message was clear.
They had better go out there and say wonderful great things about our dear leader.
Or else.
This is how these people operate.
What oil company is going to drill for oil?
Or do anything that involves risk if they're going to face being destroyed or bankrupted and their stockholders wiped out if anything goes wrong?
And that's the message Obama is sending not just to the oil companies, but as Thomas Sowell pointed out, all of our friends and enemies around the world.
They are seeing clearly that this administration is willing to wipe out its own friends in order to make a positive impression about themselves.
And to advance what I think is a diabolical anti-capitalist agenda.
As we go out of here this afternoon, I want you to think about this.
If the top executives of BP are responsible for what occurred in the Gulf, why isn't the top executive our government responsible for the permits and licenses and failure to act after the rig blew up?
Why does the buck always stop, only stop at BP CEO, but not with Obama?
And why should only BP be held to account when this is a regulated rig and a regulated business?
