Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Well, the show kind of snuck up on me today, folks.
I've been so immersed in show prep, I didn't realize it was showtime until a minute ago.
Wowie, Zowie.
Greetings, my friends.
Hump day, middle of the week.
For those of you who work, a steadily falling number.
You get this day behind you and you're over the hump for the week.
Rush Schlimbaugh to get you there.
800-282.
2882 if you want to be on the program email address, lrushball at EIBnet.com.
18 states have now joined the lawsuit to oppose Obamacare.
He really, folks, I mean, Obama has come to divide even Pete Wayner.
Pete Wayner, good friend of mine, worked for Rove in the Bush White House.
Used to work for Bill Bennett over at Empower America.
Pete Wayner, and he's one of us, but he's for Pete to write what he wrote today about Obama the divider, it's akin to the Pope uttering a profanity.
You know, Pete says he's very, very reserved and so forth, but over to, and it's not an over-the-top piece, but it's becoming clearer and clearer.
Michael Ledine has a great piece today on Obama.
I'll read it to you as the program unfolds.
Basically, he's just your typical undergrad, little idealist here, never got out of school, only knows what he's been taught, which is basically a theory of mine.
Look at this.
65% say Americans are not willing to make major lifestyle cutbacks to help save the environment.
That's Ras Mussin.
65%.
After 20 years of nonstop propaganda and pummeling, to the contrary, the American people are now not buying it.
After 20 years, I can only hope the American people wake up about all the other propaganda they've been fed for the last 20 years, such as global warming.
Get this.
There's ongoing controversy with the census out there.
They've even now recruited Rove to do PSAs to get people to sign up.
And one of the things that's being said out there, and folks, really, if it's in the media, you have to suspect it.
And if it's fed to the media from the White House, you have to doubt it.
But there's new template, the new narrative, the new storyline out there is that conservatives are not filling out the census.
They're not filling it out because they suspect a government plot and that we're going to really be undercounted if we don't fill out the census.
But yet a look at the return rate so far shows a national average from conservative Republicans.
There is no real underreporting by Republicans in this.
So what's going on?
I don't know, but clearly it fits the model of chaos and portraying Republicans and conservatives as kooks, you know, black helicopter types, the tinfoil hat crowd.
And I think that's what's really going on here.
But it's it now that community survey, that's a whole different thing.
You know, that thing with 55,000 questions about, you know, what would you accept as payment for your third child, whatever the questions in this thing are, that's a whole different matter.
And that's random.
The census basically just has 10 questions.
Remember, if you haven't filled yours out yet, and you do, where it says race, just put American in there because they've got 10 different racial categories.
You know, Obama on his form, well, he checked off the Negro African or whatever they call it the Negro Bucks.
But he's well I mean there was confusion there at the White House because well there there just was there just was but ultimately came down on the side of being down for the civil rights movement.
So that's that.
But get this the executive director of a Washington Latino community organization at a rally sometime, like I guess it was last week, called on Hispanics, regardless of their immigration status, to participate in the census, adding that doing so will expand their access to $400 billion in government-funded resources.
Now, this should not come as a surprise to anybody, but I'm just letting you know that it is happening out there.
To the Hispanic community, the reality is that the census, participating in the census, is very important, said Rodrigo Leyva in Spanish, Español, while speaking at a rally focused on urging the American public to participate in the census.
Leyva is the executive director of the Latino Federation of Greater Washington, a nonprofit membership organization that self-designates as a group that works to empower the Latino community through advocacy, research, and capacity building resources.
It's about resources.
It's about a tremendous importance of billions of dollars.
We have to participate.
Please participate.
There's no fear about immigration being an issue here.
This is a totally separate organization.
The census is.
The answers you provide are totally confidential.
It's very critical for our future that you participate, even if you're illegal, so that we as a group can get our hands on our share of the $400 billion in so-called government resources.
Now, the census doesn't ask about legal status.
Of course, it wouldn't.
Nobody wants to really know the truth about that.
Certainly not the Democrat side.
Now, he gave the same speech before he gave it in Spanish in English, but he didn't say anything about immigration in the English version.
Yeah.
Another guy was pulling the same thing on C-SPAN this morning, pulling the same thing.
So this is a clear illustration of the entitlement mentality that has taken over the country in many, many years.
Get this.
This is just this amazing New York State newspaper, the Journal News.
A prejudiced dog that reportedly disliked minorities was slashed last night by a black man.
This is in Yonkers, who had grown tired of the dog's incessant barking at him.
The German shepherd lost an eye, and the alleged slasher who worked for an oil delivery business where the dog stood guard was arrested on a felony aggravated cruelty charge.
Andrew Evans, 58 years old, arraigned this morning in city court after spending the night in jail.
The owner of the dog said the dog reacts to black people and Hispanics, anybody who's not white.
She always barked at him.
He was well aware the dog didn't like him and he knew to stay away from her.
A detective.
So we have a racist dog here.
Who knew?
Who knew?
I guess the next thing they're going to tell us is that fish know they live in water.
And the next thing they're going to tell me is that my cat knows that it's an Abyssinian.
And then the next thing they're going to tell me is that my dog knows that it's an old English sheepdog.
My God, folks, now dogs are racist.
A dog, a German shepherd, no less.
Oh, don't discount the importance of that.
A German shepherd doesn't like black people or Hispanic people and barks at them.
It has nothing to do with scent.
Sense of smell, for those of you in Rio Linda.
Owens worked at this place.
The guy, the perp, worked as a handyman.
He threatened to kill the dog in the past, but that never made the news.
He threatened to kill a dog in the past, told authorities it had bitten him about a year ago.
Last night he egged on the dog and charged at her, said the SPCA detective.
He allegedly then pulled out a nine-inch folding knife.
He taunted her with his arm, raised his arm with a knife, slashed the dog across the face, cut the dog over the right eye all the way down to the eye socket bone.
Now, if this is all true, folks, if the doctor, or if the dog is racist, then shouldn't the dog be the perp?
And the innocent black guy was simply defending himself against a hate crime.
The hate crime in this case is a barking German Shepherd.
The wrong entity here has been charged.
I mean, if we have learned anything, if you are racist, if you don't like black people or Hispanic people or anybody of color, and you perpetrate any act against them, it's criminal, you can add to the penalty by calling it a hate crime.
The dog here is the one who is exhibiting the hate, a racist dog.
And the poor human being is paying the price here for having to go up against a racist dog every day.
As a purebred German Shepherd, by the way, that don't discount the importance of the breed here, folks, in this story.
Saying more in five seconds than your average host says in a week.

Happily so.
Welcome back.

Nancy Pelosi, quote of the day.
It's like the back of the refrigerator.
You see all these wires and the rest.
Now, let me stop there.
When is the last time you looked at the back of your refrigerator?
My refrigerators, I have a lot of them, are built in.
I can't look behind them.
But in the old days, when I could look behind my refrigerator, I saw one wire.
Well, I saw two, maybe a copper wire for water for the ice maker and the power cord.
What bunch of wires is on the back of a refrigerator?
Well, now with that thought, let me resume the quote.
It's like the back of the refrigerator.
You see all these wires and the rest.
But all you need to know is you open the door and the light goes on.
Well, you open this door, you go through a whole different path in terms of access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans.
That's Pelosi explaining how her constituents can understand the health care bill that she recently passed in the House.
Compare it to opening the door of the refrigerator.
And all the goodies inside, all the food that you love, is illuminated by a bright light.
And you have all of those choices.
But you'll never see that if you look at all the wires coming out of the back of the refrigerator.
With that in mind, from the McClatchy, Washington News Bureau, Snerdly, we got our wish.
Healthcare overhaul spawns mass confusion for public.
It is happening.
Two weeks after Obama signed the big health care overhaul bill into law, Americans are struggling to understand how and when the measure will affect them.
Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors' offices, human resource departments, and business groups.
They're saying, where do we get the free Obamacare?
How do I sign up for that? said Carrie McClain, a licensed agent for ehealthinsurance.com.
I love it, folks.
I was hoping when Dawn told me that she saw this happening at the breast center, I said, whoa, I hope this is happening all over the country.
We even urged people in a miniature Operation Chaos who understand the bill to show up somewhere and ask, where's my free Obamacare?
Who knows how many of our people are actually doing this?
I don't know, but I also know a whole bunch of legitimate people are doing it as well.
Where do we get the free Obamacare?
How do I sign up for that?
Carrie McClain said the call center had been inundated by uninsured consumers who were hoping that the overhaul would translate into instant, affordable coverage, as in free.
That widespread misconception may have originated in part from distorted rhetoric about the legislation bubbling up from the hyper-partisan debate.
No, the reason people think this is because Obama was lying to them.
The hyper-partisan debate was us trying to tell people the truth about this.
Obama was the one telling people all these wonderful things about his health care plan and giving the impression that it was going to be paid for by a couple of millionaires.
We tell them it's not free.
We tell them that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low income, but that ultimately most of that is not taking place until 2014.
I hope it's millions of people.
I hope it is millions of people showing up, expecting their freebie, expecting their insurance coverage, and being, oh, no, no, no, that's not going to happen for four years.
The adults with pre-existing conditions are frustrated to learn that insurers won't have to cover them until 2014, although those under 18 will be protected by late September.
And then they become both hopeful and confused upon learning that a federal high-risk pool for them will be established in the next few months.
Health insurance is so confusing.
You add this on top of it.
It makes it even more confusing, said the person that works for the insurance company.
The Obama administration is embarking on a years-long P years-long.
Oh, really?
By the way, whatever happened to the jobs push?
Is Obama going to be focusing laser-like on jobs while he's in Prague, signing the giveaway arms deal with the Russians?
Whatever happened to that.
Embarking on a years-long public education campaign about the overhaul, including a web component.
However, much of the guidance will depend on the Department of Health and Human Services regulations that are still being developed.
It's a nightmare.
It's a total nightmare out there.
The distorted rhetoric on all this probably began during the Obama-Hillary campaign.
They both claimed it would be free.
They both gave the impression, if they didn't state it directly, they both gave the impression it was going to be free.
So did John Edwards, the Brecht girl.
I mean, these people, they are just incorrigible.
I'll tell you, you know what you ought to do?
People, if you voted for Obama on the premise or you supported his health care overhaul because you thought it was going to be free and you were going to get it immediately, you ought to go in and demand it.
Don't just go in and ask, when do I get it?
Go in and demand it.
You know, pretend you're Obama.
Pretend you're a community agitator.
You're a community organizer.
Go in and demand it.
You're an American.
You are entitled to it.
They passed the bill.
The evil Republicans tried to stop them.
As far as you're concerned, that means the whole thing's legit.
So go in there and demand it.
Wait until they find out that their tax refund has been cut to punish them for not having insurance.
Speaking of an observation about that, something that went right over my head yesterday, this normally does not happen.
In telling you the story of the IRS commissioner saying the way they're going to assess the fines on people who do not buy health insurance is via their tax refund.
They're just going to purloin all of it or whatever amount of it they need to satisfy the debt you owe if you haven't paid your fine for not buying health insurance.
Now, what does that mean?
It means very simply that if you get a refund on your income tax return, what does that make you?
It makes you a taxpayer.
And Obama said 95% of the American people would not see one dime of an increase in their taxes.
And yet the IRS commissioner yesterday just blew that up and smoked that one full of holes.
So we have the mass confusion on the public's part because they were led to believe some things that were not true about this.
They did not apparently get the memo explaining what all this was really all about.
Americans who already have good coverage aren't so worried about the immediate implications, but some admit that they're plenty confused.
Why does it take so long for certain health care things to take effect? said Sandra Preston, a state employee in Patterson, New Jersey.
Ben Wiesen, software engineer, works for a small company in Tarrytown, said he'd read up on the overhaul, but remained concerned about the unknown.
For those of you who want to know why it takes four years for things to implement, I can explain it very quickly.
Obama, in order to sell this, needed the price tag to be reported at something under a trillion dollars.
So benefits, so-called benefits, healthcare reform, the actual stuff you think you're going to get free doesn't kick in for four years.
So there's only six years of accounting for the costs.
The taxes that we're all going to pay to support this start now, immediately.
But four years, you get nothing for it.
The true cost of 10 years of benefits, so-called, and 10 years of cost spending is $2.5 trillion, and we'll be back, which we don't have, by the way.
Serving humanity, Rush Limbaugh, talent on loan from God.
Well, this next story can't make the regime happy.
Mahmoud Ahmadine Zad has really dissed our young president, Barack Obama.
Ahmadinezad ridiculed Obama's new nuclear strategy, which turns the U.S. focus away from Cold War threats and instead aims to stop the spread of atomic weapons to rogue states of terrorists.
And that's being charitable about it.
Obama on Tuesday announced a new strategy, including a vow not to use nuclear weapons against countries that don't have them, which is just absurd.
It's an open invitation to any of these rogue states that don't have nuclear weapons, and that's most of them, to hit us any other way they can.
We just promised them that we're not going to nuke them back.
We're going to have to invade them if we respond, maybe drop some conventional bombs on them somewhere.
Here's what Ahmedinezad said: American materialist politicians, whenever they are beaten by logic, immediately put their finger on the trigger like cowboys.
Do you realize what an insult that is?
Because Bush, they hated and reviled Bush.
He was the cowboy.
The Democrats called him the cowboy.
Mission accomplished.
They hated the hell out of it.
And here is Mahmoud Ahmadine Zad, who is supposed to like us now.
Obama really believes that disarming.
And by the way, folks, people are asking me, why is he doing this?
People can't get their arms around the fact that he thinks the country is the problem.
And you're going to have to come to accept that pretty soon, folks, because it's the only way you're going to understand everything that he does.
He looks at himself as a ruler, not somebody who governs.
And the only reason to change our nuclear strategy the way Obama did is if you think the United States is the problem in the world.
And believe me, he does.
So he's a combination here getting a big PR show.
He's strutting around.
Look at me.
I'm different than everybody else.
He's trying to send a signal.
Some people believe this.
I actually don't, but some people think he's sending a signal to the rest of the world.
Look, you can trust us now.
We're not going to nuke here, and we have no animus toward you.
And you can like us now, and you can stop threatening us.
I don't think that's what it's all about.
He's not that naive.
Maybe some of the idealists in his administration are, but this is, don't take your eyes off the ball.
This is all about punishing this country for what he thinks are its crimes and its sins since the founding.
But Ahmedine Zad was not through.
After calling Obama a cowboy, he said, Mr. Obama, you're a newcomer to politics.
Wait until your sweat dries and get some experienced experience.
I love it.
Mahmoud Ahmadinezad.
Normally, you know, when somebody like this would diss our president, we would all rise up in anger.
But I find myself not agreeing with Ahmadine Zad, but I just, I'm amused by the fact that Obama is not used to being criticized, doesn't take to it very well.
And a lot of our foreign policy is aimed at neutralizing Iran attitudinally.
We're not making, we don't have any serious sanctions on the Iranians.
Somebody proposed a real embargo on gasoline for Iran.
The Iranians don't have any refineries.
They have to import all the gasoline they use.
They have a lot of oil.
They have to export it, have it refined and re-imported or imported back for gasoline.
Somebody said if you really want to do sanctions, blockade and embargo gasoline getting in.
Oh, no, no, we can't do that.
That won't harm the Iranian population.
Well, we can't do that.
That would be counterproductive.
What the hell are sanctions for?
How do you simply sanction the regime?
How do you simply sanction the mullahs and Ahmedine Zad?
The whole purpose of economic sanctions is to cause great harm to the population.
So these sanctions, when you hear about them, third and fourth trip, they're nothing.
They are toothless.
We're doing nothing.
Nobody has done anything about Iran's nuclear buildup.
And I do believe that Obama was trying to convince them to roll it back by saying, look, you're not a problem.
We're not targeting you.
We're changing our nuclear policy.
We're in the process of disarming here.
It's naive and silly.
And Ahmedine's Dodd has just indicated that he's not buying it.
They just never stop.
Every day, there is an assault on a tradition on the truth or some other valuable institution in this country.
President Obama's advisors plan to remove terms such as Islamic radicalism from a document outlining national security strategy.
We've eliminated the word terrorism from government usage.
They will use the new version to emphasize the U.S. does not view Muslim nations through the lens of terrorism.
The change would be significant, significant shift in the national security strategy, a document that previously outlined the Bush doctrine for preventive war.
It currently states the struggle against militant Islamic radicalism is the great ideological conflict of the early years of the 21st century.
Obama doesn't like that.
He's pulling it out.
The officials describe the changes on condition of anonymity because the document's still being written and is unlikely to be released for weeks.
But rewriting the strategy document is the latest example of Obama putting his stamp on U.S. foreign policy, as with his promises to dismantle nuclear weapons and limit the situations in which they can be used.
The revisions are part of a larger effort about which the White House talks openly, one that seeks to change not just how the U.S. talks to Muslim nations, but also what it talks to them about, from health care and science to business startups and education.
Do you believe this?
We're going to talk to Muslim nations about health care, science, business startups, and education.
Yes, I certainly can believe it.
And we certainly do need to talk to them about all those things, don't we?
Oh, yeah, we need to be talking to Muslim nations about health care, science, business startups.
The shift away from terrorism has been building for a year since Obama went to Cairo and promised a new beginning in the relationship with the U.S. and Muslim world.
The White House believes the previous administration based that relationship entirely on fighting terrorism and winning the war of ideas.
May I ask a question?
Maybe somebody can help me with this.
What are we doing having relationships with the Muslim world anyway?
Do we have a relationship with the Catholic world?
Do we have a relationship with the Buddhist world?
Do we have a relationship with the Jewish world?
Well, if we did, Obama's taking care of that.
But we don't have relations with religious worlds.
What is this?
You take a country where the overwhelming majority are not going to become terrorists, and you go in and say, we're building you a hospital so you don't become terrorists.
That doesn't make much sense.
National Security Council staffer Pradeep Ramurthy said.
So this is it.
Obama and his idealists, his young whippersnappers, think the United States is the problem.
We are attacked because we deserve to be.
We have been imperialists.
We've overstepped our bounds in the world.
It's totally understandable why they would attack us and commit acts of terror against us.
So what do we need to do?
We need to go in there and build them schools and we need to get them health care and we need to talk to them about science.
Meanwhile, we do not have the money for this.
Our own school infrastructure is not in good shape.
Nor are the highways and so forth that were supposed to be rebuilt and maintained and built up by the stimulus.
None of that has happened.
Because that was just a slush fund for Obama to pass out as rewards for people supporting him in his campaign and for supporting his legislation during his presidency.
A slush fund.
So the premise is we deserve it.
We should have been hit.
It's time we face the facts.
And to prevent them from hitting us again, we have to acknowledge that.
Stop calling them Islamic radicals.
Stop calling them terrorists.
Instead, build them hospitals.
I can't imagine.
I can't imagine what it must be like to be in a family who lost someone in 9-11 to hear about this guy's plans for the Muslim world.
I can't imagine what it would be.
I can't imagine what it was like when they found out that this government was willing to spend $200 a year in security for the people who blew up the World Trade Center in a civil trial.
I can't imagine the anger they must have felt.
Where was the security for my family member, they must have been asking?
Where was the effort to protect Americans?
Why are you willing to spend $200 million to protect the people who blew up the World Trade Center?
Why are you willing to give them constitutional rights when these terrorists didn't care about any of our family members' human rights?
And now we can't call them what they are.
Now we can't call them Islamic radicals.
Now we have to have a relationship with the Islamic radical world.
Sorry, Muslim world.
Well, I'm waiting for the outreach of the Catholic world.
And the Buddhist world.
Tiger Woods would be interested in that.
We'll be back.
Stay with us.
How long is it going to be before the media starts blaming the regime for the mine collapse in West Virginia like they did Bush?
They're not going to blame the regime, I know, but they did blame Bush, the Sago mine disaster.
They blamed Bush.
No investigation, no oversight.
Department of Labor didn't care about the working man, only cared about big business.
Well, here you got a guy, and they're really running this massey CEO through the coals, folks.
They're making this guy out to be the second coming of some world tyrant.
Now, the regime has been in power here for over a year.
How come this regime didn't correct all the so-called mistakes of the Bush administration and get in there and make sure that these rot-gut mine owners were following through on the proper regulations for safety in the mines?
I'll never forget blaming.
It was after Katrina, and they were dumping on Bush for everything.
This regime, of course, gets away scot-free.
Look, if we can't call Islamic radicals at the regime level, if the regime is going to tell us that they're not going to call Islamic radicals Islamic radicals anymore, if they're going to go vague, then I think it's time we take steps to not offend other perpetrators of crimes.
So for a rapist.
I mean, that's got to offend them.
That's got to make them mad to call them rapists.
It's going to make them rape even more, right?
We shouldn't call them rapists.
If we can't call Islamic radicals Islamic radicals, we shouldn't call rapists rapists.
We need to call them uninvited perpetrators or penetrators, if you wish.
Murderer.
You think people like being called a murderer, even if they are?
You think that's going to forge a decent relationship with murderers?
All we do is put them in prison.
We make them even angrier.
And calling them murderers is even worse.
We just need to call them something vague, like a carbon footprint reducer.
That covers all kinds of political correct grounds.
Serial killer.
Who wants to be called a serial killer?
Doesn't that offend people?
We don't want to have an outreach to serial killers, do we?
Global warming warrior.
Call a serial killer a global, because that's massive carbon footprint reduction.
So you call them a global warming warrior, a thief.
Nobody wants to be called a thief.
How are we going to build up outreach and have good relations with thieves if that's what we call them?
It's going to offend them.
We just call them an income redistributionist.
Or call them Obama.
Kidnapper.
That's vile.
Nobody wants to be called a kidnapper.
How are we going to have outreach with kidnappers?
How are we going to build up decent relations with kidnappers and see to it they don't kidnap anymore?
Very simple.
We stop calling it kidnapping.
We call them unpaid babysitters.
Unpaid babysitters.
Unpaid babysitters.
That's what a kidnapper is.
I mean, why stop it being vague over Islamic radicalism?
And the unemployed, oh, you know, there's no greater stigma than that.
Of course, the stigma being unemployed is somewhat less now, since there are so many.
But it used to be unemployed out of work.
That was embarrassing.
That was something about which people felt shame.
We need to rename the unemployed, such as calling them victims of capitalism.
This is all from the regime's perspective.
I was on an email exchange late last.
I was up very, very late.
Oh, you know what?
I'm getting questions from people.
You haven't talked about your new dog in a while.
Is everything okay?
Well, yeah, everything's fine.
Dog just turned a year, but I can't, if I embarked on a little dog story, can you imagine the stick to the issues emails I would get?
But a dog is, we love this dog.
It's an old English sheepdog named Abby.
And it's, look, my dog, I don't know what, maybe it hates animals because it barks at the ducks in our pool.
We have a couple of ducks that have taken up residence in the pool.
Abby goes out there and barks at them, and they just quack back.
I mean, it's a funny, they don't fly off.
They just quack, quack back at her.
And she woof, woof, woofs, and eventually gets tired of it.
She grabs her toys, brings them to my feet wherever I am, starts barking.
She wants to play fetch.
Funniest dog I have ever seen.
Just looking at her.
Not to do anything.
She's just the funniest looking dog.
Because sheep dogs, you can't see their eyes.
Hair covers.
Those ears perk up.
She's about 50 pounds now.
And she's still got one full year to grow.
But the most lovable dog doesn't have any idea how strong or how big it is.
No, I don't have any turtles.
I don't have any turtles.
Although, you know what happened?
Folks, you'll love this.
The local newspaper actually ran a story last week that a leatherback turtle laid some eggs, made a nest right by my swimming pool, saying the turtles must have seen your ad in our paper.
You know, I ran a full-page ad welcoming the turtles, so forth.
Turtle Preservation Society of Palm Beach.
Now, my pool's not that close to the nest.
I mean, you got to walk through the dune to get to the beach where the nest is, but they say it's right out there.
It's right out there.
I'm not making it up.
Not making it up.
Also, I got cited for violating the turtle light ordinance this week.
I got cited by the police department, the code enforcer.
I had four outside sconce lights in the lower deck that were too bright.
I got this menacing note saying I had to be in compliance by April 11th or else.
It's no different than what I agreed to last year with the compliance officer.
So, being the law-abiding citizen I am, I turned them up even brighter.
No, I didn't.
I took the bulbs out of the sconces and I abided by the threatening letter of the code enforcer back after this.
As has been pointed out to me, folks, big dogs don't know that they're big.
And they don't even know that they're dogs.
Folks, they don't even know that, but they know how to be racist.
Also, isn't it interesting?
The Obama regime can call me any name in the book.
They can call me troublesome, say I'm filled with vitriol.
And yet, you can't call Muslim extremists troublesome.
You can't call them Islamic radicals.
Export Selection
