Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
And greetings to you, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome.
This is the Rush Limbaugh program on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.
And today, as we start the radio program America is hanging by a thread.
So we have to see what we can do with a thread.
At the end of the day, our freedom has been assaulted.
This is the kind of change that people did not think they were going to get when they voted for Barack Obama.
Freedom must win the day.
Great to have you here.
We'll be talking to you about all of this.
800 282-2882 is the number at the email address.
Lrushbo at EIB net.com.
All right.
You have to deal with reality here.
And that means focusing on the future.
Now there are some people who um uh want to look back at the past and and say, okay, how did we get here?
And that's all fine and dandy, but we know how we got here.
Barack Obama was elected president.
If you want to go back any further than that, we can, but we are here because Barack Obama was elected president.
We are here because the Democrat Party uh has a majority in the Senate and the House of Representatives.
Bart Stupak, there's a lot of anger at Bart Stupak today.
Bart Stupak was always going to vote for this.
Bart Stupak was never gonna vote.
The thing that Bart Stupak needs to be hounded out of office for is for misleading an entire nation and giving an entire nation a big fake faint job that he and his cohorts were somehow going to do something to stop this on the basis of a false premise anyway.
I want you to hear a piece of audio from Stupak.
Uh, and this is October 24th in Sheboygan, Michigan.
He held a town hall meeting.
This is uh uh internet quality here.
He had a town hall meeting, and he told a questioner.
He told one of his voters that if he liked everything but the abortion funding, he would vote for it.
He said this last October.
Yep, everything I want in the bill, the final bill.
I like everything in the bill, except the public funding more report.
And we had a chance to run our amendment, and we lost.
Okay.
I voted my conscience.
Stayed true to my principles, straight, stay true to the beliefs of this district.
Could I vote for health care?
Yes, I still could.
And he did.
He was always going to, as were the moderate Democrats.
And there were some of them that uh uh were given a chance to vote no because they had enough of a majority uh last night, but up until four o'clock yesterday afternoon, theoretically, Pelosi did not have the votes.
Uh I'm asking myself, what kind of country are we today?
We're not a representative republic.
The will of the people was spat upon yesterday.
The will of the people is of no concern to the people who now have power and authority from the White House all the way down to Capitol Hill.
The will of the people is something to be crushed.
So we're not a representative republic.
Uh you can't even say loosely defined we are much of a democracy.
We have to restore these things.
We have to do this by getting rid of these people at the ballot box.
We must get them out of office.
That's the only thing here.
I mean, I hear people talking about repeal, and that's great.
But there's something that has to happen before we can do that.
We can't repeal this thing as as we sit here today.
We don't have the votes, we didn't have the votes to stop it, we're not going to have the votes to repeal it.
We have to start winning elections.
But I'm going to tell everybody in the Republican Party that's running around talking about repeal.
It better be more than a campaign slogan.
You better mean it.
Don't declare something as principle and then play it like a five-dollar poker chip like Bart Stupac did.
Stuck has humiliated and disgraced himself, and he, because he he lied because he held out the hope of millions of Americans that this travesty would not happen.
Bart Stupak has not only humiliated and disgraced himself, he has as big a role in destroying this country as it was founded as Barack Obama does.
Last night, Bart Stupak damaged the already crippled Democrat Party more than he knows, more than they know.
They have executive orders totally laughable.
Stupak just wanted his notice me moment.
Stuck is no different than Neville Chamberlain.
Came back with that little letter from Hitler.
Oh, yeah, Hitler says no war between uh between his country and ours.
Churchill said, Well, you're a fool.
Well, Stupak got his executive order, which is worthless, can be rescinded, but it does not have the ability to counter the statute.
So whatever's in the Senate bill, and there is federal funding for abortion, but folks make no question that the lies that we have been told about what's in this bill and what's not in this bill, it is an utter disaster.
And if you want, we can spend some time today going through some of these individual items, which we've been doing for a year and a half.
The point is, the American people have awakened and they finally have seen what statists look like and what they do and how they act.
Even McCain, who as recently as a year ago wanted to walk across the aisle and work with these people, said today he's upset just looking at how happy they are at what they've done.
Of course, uh, it need not have happened had we well, I don't even want to go.
Focusing on the past is only relevant in terms of how we learn from it and not make the same mistakes in the future.
So, yep, we repeal, fine and dandy.
And we take these lawsuits.
These lawsuits are an uphill climb.
Uh they they um then, and then you know, we we can't rely on lawsuits to win the day.
I mean, they need to be filed and they need to be argued, and we need to push back in every direction.
But the focus has to be on defeating Democrats in November in these midterm elections.
We have the people, we have the intellectual arguments, we have the common sense arguments, we have history, but they won yesterday.
They won because they held Congress in the presidency.
And therein lies the lesson.
We need to defeat these bastards.
We need to wipe them out.
We need to chase them out of town.
But we need to do more than that.
We need to elect conservatives.
If there are Republican primaries, elect conservatives, and then defeat the Democrats, every last one of them.
And then we start the repeal process.
And by repeal, I mean use every single legislative and bureaucratic tactic we can muster to obstruct, derail, and defeat them.
Just saying repeal does not make it happen.
We are going to have to turn out in mass in November and stop these people.
As you have seen, the law will not stop them.
The Constitution will not stop them.
Hoping that they will do the right thing will not stop them because their definition of the right thing has nothing in common with ours.
The they must, my friends, be hounded out of office.
Every single Democrat who voted for this needs to know.
Safe district or not, they are going to be exposed and hassled and chased from office.
We now have leftist radicals in charge of your health care decisions rather than doctors.
I got up today and I was we're hanging by a thread.
And there's a difficult balancing act on this program today.
Dealing with the reality of what has happened, which can't be candy coated with the need to fight on.
And the need to fight on and the urging to fight on must have some substance to it and not just be rhetoric and language and lingo.
It has to have some substance behind it.
Because we really are uh facing the prospect that our country will never be the same after yesterday.
If this stands, it will never be the same.
And a majority of the American people understood it.
A majority of the American people understand it and know it and are outraged by this.
Americans are now eagerly awaiting their insurance premiums to be reduced by $2,500 a year.
Obama has been promising this since his presidential campaign of 2008.
Americans are now eagerly awaiting for all of the uninsured to magically have health insurance.
The American people are now magically waiting for their premiums to go down for their access to go up.
I was listening to some of the Democrats and some of the Democrats in the media last night.
Juan Williams on Fox, it was just excited.
Oh my god, this is so wonderful.
It's so wonderful.
No more pre-existing condition, no more pre-existing conditions.
Everybody gets insurance.
And I'm saying, does anybody not understand economics here?
We're not even talking about an insurance business anymore.
What's happened here is not insurance.
Insurance is, you know, you you uh you you you insure yourself against a catastrophe, something that might happen to wipe you out.
This is not insurance, this is simply the insurance companies being captivated or taken over by the government and having their mandate behavior mandated for the express purpose of putting them out of business.
This bill, as I told you last week, you don't have to buy insurance.
You can wait until the accident or the act or the illness happens, and then buy it that day.
And they have to sell it to you.
And no matter what, if you get terminal cancer, the doctor gives you three months, they have to sell you your coverage.
Except you're not gonna have to buy it.
If you can't afford it, we all your neighbors will.
No insurance company can stay in business doing this.
Same thing with pre-existing condition, no preexisting condition, and the liberals keep talking about automobile insurance.
What happens to you when you have an automobile policy and driving around and you have an accident, and you do a lot of damage.
Hey, guess what?
You are a higher risk.
Your auto insurance premium goes up, right?
Why shouldn't that happen with health care?
Why shouldn't it?
It's not fair.
I know it's not fair.
Well, it won't now.
It won't now.
So, yeah, pre-existing conditions are going to be covered, but who's gonna pay for this?
Insurance premiums are going to skyrocket in the next couple of years until they are out of business and the government steps in to take over with the public option, which is just waiting a couple of uh months, couple of days, couple years down the tracks, it's just waiting for this to happen because this bill mandates the destruction of the private health insurance business.
I gotta take a break here, folks.
We'll get to your phone calls.
We've got uh a lot of sound bites to get through today, and we'll do it all.
Sit there, be patient, we'll be back before you know it.
Telephone number again, 800-282-2882.
And greetings, welcome back, Rush Limbaugh, the EIV network and the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies.
Ladies and gentlemen, now that we have, now that we have health care reform, we should expect Obama's approval numbers to skyrocket, right?
Not just get a bump.
Everybody's talking about a bump that he might get because he got it done.
We should expect them to skyrocket because of health care reform.
This is what we were told.
Uh we should expect the budget deficit to immediately start going down.
This is what we were told.
And employment should shoot straight up, right?
These are all the promised benefits that we are breathlessly sitting around and waiting for.
Now, about this pre existing condition stuff.
I feel like it's uh it's time to hit you between the eyes with some reality here to continue doing so, uh, which we've been doing for the last year on this.
The truth of the matter is that at the end of the day, when all of this is implemented, if it is, pre-existing conditions will not be covered.
Everybody will not be treated.
We already have the federal government as the largest insurance company in the country.
It's called Medicare, it's called Medicaid.
It's called S chip, and it's called the VA.
And everybody does not get covered.
Everybody does not get paid for.
Everybody does not get reimbursed, And everybody does not get treated.
They, Medicare and Medicaid, refuse, decline, more cases than any private insurance company in this country expressed as a percentage.
The only way, the only way that this can possibly happen.
Our health care system is for care to be rationed, which it already is with Medicare and Medicaid and the VA and SCHIP.
When rationing begins, depending on what illness or disease you have or contract, you may well not get health care.
It may be determined that you are not suitable to be treated based on your age, based on the severity of the disease, and based on whether or not it's worth it to the government to keep you alive and to keep you healthy in terms of dollars and cents, pure and simple.
You may not get your health care, or you'll get it so late as to not matter.
This is what happens under these systems.
It's right before our eyes.
It's happening in Canada.
It happens in the Great Britain area, it happens everywhere.
There is socialized medicine.
They can say that you have coverage, but you will not get care like you do today.
Starting today, the best health care system in the world is history.
The health care that you want, the health care that you are able to get is history.
There are some people saying that this is an entitlement.
I technically speaking, I guess you could say it is.
But in reality, it's not an entitlement.
Because whereas everybody gets their social security, or everybody gets uh the other thing, they're not gonna get health care as they want it, when they want it, and how much of it they want.
Can't possibly happen.
Not when the government is managing it, not when the governments be the sole provider, and not when it's the American people via high taxes who are paying for it.
The real number of uninsured in this country is 12 million.
That's the number of people who want health care insurance but couldn't get it.
It's not 32, it's not 40, it's not 47, never has been.
It's 12 million.
We've run the numbers.
And for barely a smidgen of the stimulus package, we could have insured those people every year.
We didn't need this.
This is not about health care.
This is not about insurance.
This is about fundamentally wrecking and destroying the United States of America as it was founded.
This is about turning as many people in this country as possible into dependents, not for their wants, but for their very needs.
We already, you know, 280, 275 million people in this country had health insurance.
They were happy with it.
They had their coverage.
I mean, the prices were skyrocketing.
That was a vacuum that wasn't quite filled when the Republicans had a chance, but that's a discussion for another day.
Most people liked poll after poll after poll.
There was not this clamoring for massive fundamental change, such as we've had.
But rationing is the only way this can happen, depending on what kind of cancer you get, depending on your age, depending on the cost of drugs, etc., you may not get any of it.
And it's not going to be your doctor who decides.
It's going to be some government panel using actual tables that look at you as a budget number.
Pure and simple, not as a human being.
Now I'll tell you where this is headed.
Because it's great to talk about repeal.
That must happen, but the people talking about it, if they're going to run for reelection on that, they'd better be serious about meaning it.
Already, there are some Republicans talking about, well, you know, we can make this workable if we just take some things.
No, uh-uh.
This is not workable in any way, shape, manner, or form.
It's destructive totally.
And anybody talking about how, well, we can take this out of it and take that out of it and replace it.
No, this whole thing has to be broomed and swept away And blown up and started over with.
I said last week that Barack Obama came to divide us, and he's done that.
He has also come to conquer us.
When Barack Obama leaves office, if he does, he wants more people on the welfare state than are funding it.
I keep hearing the liberals say, but millions of millions cannot afford health care.
That's what Medicaid was for.
And it's not really working all that well, is it?
Is any government program fulfilling its promise?
Why are people so damn unhappy all the time about it?
Yet they keep trusting government to do more.
Except in this case, the American people have awakened and did not trust the government to do more.
This has been shoved and rammed down our throats.
Medicaid is breaking the states.
The state of Arizona has just canceled his S chip program.
They just broomed it.
They don't have the money.
California's next.
We are bankrupt.
And nobody is talking about $940 billion, they say?
$940 billion.
That's maybe if it ended in two years.
But it's going to go in in perpetuity if it's not stopped.
The cost of this is incalculable to our character, to the relationship citizens have to their government, to freedom, to liberty.
The destruction here is totally predictable, and that's why this is so frightening.
Medicaid has essentially just been expanded, and it's a 45-year failure.
Now, what's Obama's agenda next?
I'll tell you when we get back.
How can anybody, how can anybody who is focused on freedom, American exceptionalism, and the individual, and the consent of the government.
How can anybody propose a plan, which the House did, their reconciliation package, that adds 16,000 new IRS agents to examine the tax returns of the American people.
The IRS is the collection agency, the enforcement agency now for all of these mandates, the taxes or fines that all of us must pay, businesses small and large, to have insurance or the fine if we don't.
And by the way, paying the fine will be fine.
They'll be more than happy for you to pay the fine.
Let me tell you why they'll be happy for you to pay the fine.
A, it's a brand new tax.
They are pricing these fines much less than an insurance policy would cost you or your business.
As long as there's no jail time, people will choose the fine and then only insure themselves the moment they have the car crash or get sick.
And that's perfectly legal under this bill.
The end result of that is private insurance will cease to exist and the long-desired public option will blossom.
The whole purpose of this, despite all the lies told, the whole purpose of this was to put the federal government, Barack Obama, the Democrat Party, in charge of everybody's health care.
There's no other way to look at this, and there is no evidence that they do any of this kind of thing well, and there's no evidence that a free society remains free when its government assumes this much responsibility for what the private sector takes care of just fine.
Now, what's next, ladies and gentlemen?
I told you it's gonna hit you between the eyes.
While you weren't looking, and it didn't get a whole lot of coverage yesterday, tens of thousands of immigrants and activists rallied in Washington, calling for legislation this year to give legal status to millions of illegal immigrants and seeking to pressure President Obama to keep working on this issue once the health care debate is behind him.
The rally brought the return to major street action by immigration activists who turned out hundreds of thousands of people in 2006.
Their message to Obama, we gave you time on health care.
Now we want amnesty.
But they don't have to lobby President Obama for this.
And they don't have to protest for it, and they don't have to even ask for it.
The next big push, almost immediately, and they will use whatever unconstitutional measure they have to to get it done, will be amnesty.
And I want to predict to you how Obama is going to sell this.
Mr. Schnerdley, would you suspend your call screening for just a moment because I need you to hear this?
Whoever you're speaking to, put them on hold.
I want you to hear this because you're going to get phone calls about it.
The next big push, we're not even going to breathe a sigh of relief before it happens.
These people are relentless.
The next big push will be amnesty.
For as many millions of illegal immigrants are who are here.
Obama is going to need their votes in 2012.
The Democrats are going to need their votes at every election from this day forward.
If down the road we have elections, and I'm not joking, the Constitution has just been ripped to shreds.
So So why is anything in it safe?
And I want you to hear how Obama's going to sell this.
I want you to hear how Obama's going to run around the country in these rallies.
Here's what he's going to say.
Who don't like your skin color, who don't think you should be American.
He has come to divide.
He has come to conquer.
Is there anybody who now doubts what I meant when I said, I hope he fails?
He hasn't failed.
He has succeeded.
The happiness that these people are feeling should sicken every one of us, because the happiness they're feeling is the happiness derived from the destruction of America as founded.
There are people in responsible positions of power in our government today who have a deep resentment for this country, who have been raised, who have been educated to believe that this country is immoral and unjust, that we had stolen the resources of the rest of the world and used them for our own greed, That our prosperity has resulted from the real people who make things work being stolen from.
We have imperialistically sent our military around the world and murdered innocent people.
Thank you.
They don't view this country as having liberated millions of people to freedom.
They look at this country as one big criminal act.
One big civil rights, human rights violation.
Don't doubt me.
That is how Obama has been raised to look at this country, and he believes it.
And he's put a lot of people in unaccountable positions in his administration who have the same belief, and you know who some of them are.
Van Jones admitted communists.
and These are no longer baseless allegations or charges designed to get people's attention.
This is the truth that we face.
The Democrat Party has been co-opted and is now led by a far leftist faction who admire and envy people like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castroville.
Have you ever wondered why so many Democrats and so many stupid idiotic celebrities have an affinity and love for Kestro, despite what's happened to his country, despite what he's done to, they envy his power.
they think they now have that power and So the next thing that's going to happen is a major push for immigration reform, comprehensive immigration reform.
It will be called amnesty.
Now, I'm told that Lindsey Gramnesty has now said he's rethinking, supporting this after he's seen the tactics Used to get health care.
Fine and dandy.
But none of this should have been a mystery to anybody.
None of the evidence should have been missed.
Who our opponents are has been widely available if somebody just wanted to believe it.
Gone are the days of traditional Republicans and Democrats sharing power.
There's no sharing power.
Barack Obama has come to divide and he has come to conquer.
There are people who don't like your skin color, he will tell pro-immigration rallies.
There are people who don't like your skin color, don't think you should be American.
He will divide this country even further.
The Republicans will face the same dilemma there that we face in health care.
No matter what we do, and no matter what the public polls are, we can't stop it.
Not until November.
We can't stop it.
We deal with the president who doesn't care how many votes he loses in November.
We deal with the president who actually may be looking forward to a Republican majority in the House.
Because it's very difficult to run against your own party and blame them for the things aren't getting done.
But if you have a Republican majority in the House, by God, you've got a built-in enemy.
You've got a built-in demon, a built-in diabolical entity that you can campaign and run against.
This should not stop us from our desire to win.
I'm just telling you.
Don't think that Obama will dial it back here because of November elections.
He'll ratchet it up.
He's going to try to get cap and trade.
Don't be surprised.
Don't be surprised if they don't go home in August.
Don't be surprised at anything.
I'll tell you what else is going to happen down the road.
Mark Stein touched on this little piece at National Review Online yesterday.
U.S. military has always been used to defend and protect the people of this country and our like-minded allies who were devoted to the concept of human liberty and freedom.
Those days will soon end.
Barack Obama does not look at that as a proper role for this country.
He's interested in taking it.
There is no way he will stand with other nations who are oriented as we used to be.
The only way that Obama will ever be able to come even one-tenth of the way close to paying for any of this spending that he has personally written the check for is to practically get rid of the U.S. military.
Defense cuts.
Well, take a look.
Yeah, all of these somewhat models, I think, were far down the road, far worse than these European socialist countries, which the left seems to think is ideal for us to be.
We're going to show those people what...
Those people are going to look like rock ribbed conservatives compared to us when Obama gets through.
Here you have a guy who doesn't like the U.S. military, who thinks it's been used for imperialistic purposes.
He can't wait to slash that.
Use that money for domestic spending.
You've heard the Democrat Party say this your whole life.
Cut defense, build up social programs, stop the Iraq war.
We're going to pay for health care with that.
By the way, Iraq war still going on.
But so is Afghanistan.
But the days of the United States projecting its power in defense of people who are in bondage will likely come to an end.
I'm well aware that we have Iran looming and there's nothing stopping Iran and the Russians are aligning with them.
Our problems go way beyond our borders.
The problems beyond our borders, however, are of very little interest to Barack Obama compared to his desires within our borders.
He will continue his crusade to forever alter this country.
He has come to divide.
He has come to conquer.
And some of the Republicans on our side still don't get it.
Still refuse to see this man, his presidency, and his administration for what it is, and some of our own conservative so-called commentariat don't get it.
Rome is burning.
And instead of putting out the fire, we have too many people looking for a bag of marshmallows.
We'll be back.
People asking today, what's what's the answer?
The answer is to elect conservatives who are just as committed to taking back the nation as the left is in destroying it.
Social security is broken and collapsing.
They've lied about it, they've pillaged it, yet they pat themselves on the back.
Same with Medicare and Medicaid.
These people get to own the benefits, but not the destruction.
That has to end.
Same with education.
These people are allowed to own all of the good vibes, all of the love for all of these benefits, but they somehow always exempt themselves from the failure and from the destruction.
And that must stop.
Also, we must cease with this notion that there's anything other than a liberal Democrat.
There are no blue dogs.
There are no moderate Democrats.
If the word begins with a D, it doesn't need a modifier today.
They are all liberal Democrats.
Some are just further left than the others, but there's not a one of them that is in the center.
Not a one.
For all practical purposes, Pelosi will get them to vote however she wants.
They will continue to elect her speaker.
And all this talk about bipartisanship, there was bipartisanship, by the way, in this bill yesterday.
You know where it was?
In the disagreement.
There were how many 30 some odd Democrats who voted against it along with all the Republicans.
The bipartisan and bipartisanship in this, if you care about it, and frankly, I don't, because it's a losing proposition for us.
But the bipartisanship existed on the side opposing this.
There's a montage going around.
Watch the video, here's the audio of it.
Starting in August of 2008, all the way through the present campaign trail, Barack Obama.
We're going to work with your employers to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
We will start by reducing premiums by as much as $2,500 per family.
We'll work to lower your premiums by up to $2,500 per family per year.
I also have a health care plan that would save the average family $2,500 on their premiums.
We're going to reduce costs an average of $2,500 per family on premiums.
Lower the costs of your premiums by up to $2,500 a year.
We'll cut the cost of a typical family's health care by up to $2,500 per year.
And if you've got health care, we're going to work with your employer to lower your premiums by $2,500 per family per year.
Okay, start waiting, America.
Start waiting for that.
And by the way, we're gonna do we're gonna insure 32 million more people.
We're gonna lower everybody's premiums 2500 bucks.
We'll work with the employers, make that happen, you see.
And everybody's gonna get all the coverage they want.
Isn't it wonderful?
It's a beautiful thing, is it not?
To the phones to Shirley in Cincinnati.
Uh you're up first today.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Well, it's a privilege to be here, and thanks for everything you do for our country.
Thank you very much.
Um, I just wanted to mention that I was watching the programs yesterday, you know, all the talk talk TV stuff.
Yep.
And there was a, I believe it was a congressman who's a Democrat, and they asked him the question wasn't he concerned that if it's this past, even though the people obviously didn't want it, uh, wasn't he afraid of losing in November?
And his answer was, well, they can't possibly maintain their momentum for the six months.
As we know it's everything else, they'll just get used to it, and then it won't be such a big deal.
I was appalled.
Well, that's what they're hoping.
I know, and I certainly hope that everybody does not give up that momentum, that everybody maintains the outrage against what they did.
Well, it's going to be...
This guy had a point about one thing.
And that is, it is tough to maintain emotional intensity such as it has been for six straight months.
I don't think that's possible.
I don't think he's right.
That people are going to forget this and just say, okay...
well, it's here and be comfortable with it.
Especially the administration has said that they have to go out now and sell this to people.
They're gonna fan out Obama, others gonna fan out and start explaining to people what this really is.
They're going to keep the subject alive.
As will a tremendous number of people keep the subject alive.
Don't worry about November.
There are enough people to realize what's happened here, and enough people to realize what it's going to take to restore this country's greatness.
They're not going to get comfortable with America being destroyed.
Won't happen.
We'll be back.
The American Spectator, Washington Prowler column, Rush was right.
They claimed that I was right when I suggested that the Republicans not go to the healthcare summit with Obama.
That gave Obama the opening to say everybody was on board to doing something.
Because he lies.
Anyway, we'll have details on that.
We'll get to your phone calls, lots of other stuff in the stacks today.
Sit tight.
Export Selection
