And we're just perusing the email uh during the top of the hour break out there, uh ladies and gentlemen, and I have an email here from somebody in North Carolina who thinks that I have lost my sanity today.
I guess it's at least positive he thought I was sane at some point.
You can't lose your sanity if you don't have it to begin with.
Greetings, welcome back.
Rush Limbaugh and the EIB network at 800-282, 2882.
The email address is L Rushbo at EIB net.com.
Hey Rush, I think you've lost your sanity today.
President Obama cannot alone just say that he wants to continue in power.
The president does not have that authority in the United States.
You're trying to put fear into your listeners' heads, you're becoming very dangerous.
Be very careful.
Can't happen, huh?
Can't happen here.
President have that authority.
I didn't say that it would be unilateral waving a magic wand.
I said there might be a move on the 22nd amendment.
I said his cult like followers might demand that he stay on.
He's too important not to rule.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
This whole notion, though, that the president can't do it.
The president doesn't have that authority.
Uh, sir, in North Carolina, I'm not going to mention your name because I don't want to cause you any trouble, but there are already a whole lot of things happening in this country.
The president does not have the authority to do, but he is doing.
The establishment of czars, 13 or 14 czars that are not subject to confirmation hearings by the United States Senate.
He pays them whatever he wants them to be paid.
He tells them what to do.
They have more power than his cabinet secretaries.
It can't happen.
President have an authority.
Nobody's stopping him.
The President of the United States is firing chief executive officers of automotive companies.
That can't happen in the United States.
That just can't happen.
The President doesn't have that kind of authority.
The United States government owns Chrysler and General Motors and bequeathed the majority stake of Chrysler to the United Auto Workers.
That never happened in America.
Russia can't happen.
President doesn't have that kind of authority.
People who can't pay their mortgages are being sustained in their homes and is being called affordable housing.
That can't happen in America.
That can't happen, Russia.
President doesn't have that kind of authority.
Banks were threatened to buy other banks.
Banks were threatened.
We know this to be true.
Banks were threatened.
They were called into Henry Paulson's office, and they were told they were going to sign the paper, accepting TARP money whether they needed it or not.
That can't happen.
Rush, that president doesn't have that kind of authority.
Just it just can't happen.
Why is there a 22nd amendment?
If you have if if you're over 30 and have been educated, well, I think if you're over 40, yeah, maybe 50.
If you're over 45 and you were educated in the American public school system, you know the answer to the question.
Why is there a 22nd amendment?
If you are under 40, you may not know why there is a 22nd amendment limiting to two the number of terms the President of the United States can serve.
Uh Rachel, let me just use you as a guinea pig here.
Do you happen to know why?
And I'm not trying.
You're proving a point here.
We there's no wrong answer.
Do you happen to know?
Did you tell her?
Okay, do you know why?
There is a 22nd amendment to the United States, limiting to two the number of terms the President of the United States.
Mm-hmm.
Now it has nothing to do.
Well, so he doesn't her answer is so he doesn't get too much power.
But yeah, but what caused that?
Why were people worried that the president might get too much power?
Something had to cause it.
Have you ever heard of Franklin Delamar Roosevelt?
By reputation, one of the greatest, if not the greatest presidents we've ever had.
He wouldn't go away.
He was packing the Supreme Court.
Can't happen in America, Rush.
It just can't happen here.
President had that kind of authority.
He was going to serve for life.
He was going to become like an African colonel himself.
Colonel Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
He wouldn't go away.
Four terms.
We said, hell no.
Hello, 22nd Amendment.
Yeah, it can't happen in America.
Rush, uh President have that kind of authority.
How about the Cap and Trade Bill passed in the uh in the House of Representatives?
Do you realize, ladies and gentlemen, that if this bill becomes law, every home in America, every new home will have to meet California's building codes.
Immediately upon enactment, this Democrat bill would demand a 30% increase in energy efficiency for new construction.
Two years after it's enacted, the Democrat bill would require an additional 50% improvement.
It can't happen in America.
Rush, uh people don't have this kind of authority.
A couple of more items from the Cap and Trade Bill.
The Democrat bill imposes new mandatory regulations and civil penalties for home builders.
If your state refuses to accept the stringent and costly California building codes, the federal government can assess penalties on you.
And don't get too comfortable with the new mandatory regulations because the Democrat bill allows for consensus-based codes to supplant those that are outlined in the bill.
So as soon as you've invested your hard-earned money to comply with all the mandates in the bill, the rug could get pulled from underneath you.
And you would have to pony up more and more money.
That can't happen in America.
I mean, people don't have that kind of authority.
And as we mentioned yesterday, if you're having a hard time selling your house, here's another hurdle you're going to have to jump if this bill actually becomes law.
All home sales are conditioned upon an energy audit and a new energy rating assessment and energy labeling program for your home that's outlined in the Democrat bill.
If you thought you could improve your property with a fresh coat of paint and some granite counters, think again, now your home will be subjected to a new energy rating assessment and energy labeling program that'll penalize you for older windows, original fixtures, and dated appliances.
So the Democrat bill would bring down the value of your home.
Now home sales are critical for the recovery of the American economy.
Why put this garbage in the cap and trade bill?
He said it's a jobs bill.
It's a jobs killing bill.
It is a jobs-killing bill is what cap-and-trade is.
The president doesn't have any kind of authority.
He just can't do these kinds of things.
He doesn't have any kind of authority.
You know, how many trillions of dollars of wealth have been lost?
How much of the private sector has been grabbed by the federal government?
Just grabbed.
The mortgage industry.
The banks are being told what to do.
We've got all these czars that I mentioned.
Russia can't happen in America.
President's just don't have that kind of sweeping authority.
While you say, while you think presidents don't have this authority, and you think that a president couldn't say, you know what, screw the 22nd amendment.
I'm going to do away with it.
I'm too important.
Think again, it's happening all around us.
Dictatorships are popping up all around us.
In Europe, it's the opposite.
Merkel coming out for tax cuts, Hungary coming out for tax cuts.
Merkel says, we need growth.
We need growth in Germany.
She's going to cut taxes.
But in our hemisphere, the Marxists are rising to power, and they are being supported by the President of the United States.
Yeah, Rush, come on.
The President of the United States doesn't have that kind of authority.
It can't happen here.
It's a lot of stuff that you didn't think could happen here.
That's happening right before your very eyes.
And it's not happening according to the Constitution.
President of the United States threatening and firing CEOs.
The President of the United States with a compensation czar.
The President of the United States, not the U.S. Congress.
The President of the United States wants to determine how much everybody in this country can earn per annum.
Ah, Russia, our presidents don't have that kind of authority.
Can't happen here.
Folks, let me say getting rid of the 22nd amendment is chump change compared to what this man's already achieved.
That nobody thought could happen.
Jumping into the fire every day here on the EIB, in fact, starting the fire.
And controlling the temperature, Rush Limbaugh, at the thermostat of the EIB network.
Great to have you here.
By the way, uh rush, presidents don't have that kind of authority.
Some of you, I'm sure know this.
Uh I haven't mentioned this previously, because the guy that did this is an absolute nut, but you know, most of the House Democrats are nuts.
Most of the Democrats in the House are as far left as well, as if we've ever had in this country, literal Looney Tunes, Jose Serrano.
I believe Jose is from Nebork.
Introduced in January, H.J. Rez V, Resolution 5, to repeal the 22nd Amendment.
The Democrats already made the move.
Hey, Russia, can't happen here.
I mean, our presidents don't have that kind of authority.
Now he's a nut, but they're all nuts.
You gotta be a nut to vote for cap and trade.
You have to be a nut to conceive of it.
You have to be a whacked-out environmentalist nutcase fraud to think that cap and trade is gonna help anything.
You have to be practically insane to believe that man has an effect on the climate of this planet.
By the way, I asked for it, and unbeknownst to me, I get it.
I said, What is the Obama doctrine?
If we're gonna stand up for Marxist dictatorships around the world, it's time to say so.
It's time to say that's the American doctrine, the Obama doctrine.
Last night on PBS, the Charlie Rose show, he interviewed former Carter National Security Advisor Zabigniev Bzhezinski.
And Charlie Rose said, Do you see a merging from the White House an Obama doctrine?
There is an Obama concept regarding the world, and it's a concept which I generally share.
That is to say, we live in a world in which the population of the world for the first time in all of its history is politically awakened.
A genuine political awakening of all the classes and masses in the society was a phenomenon restricted to France alone, the French Revolution.
But in the last 200 years, it has spread in the last hundred years, very rapidly, and in the last 50 years almost everywhere.
That politically awakened world cannot be dominated anymore by the West.
Many people are really yearning and claiming self-respect.
Because until recently, they were dominated by the West through colonialism and imperialism.
And if we understand that, if we don't act like a late comer to the age of imperialism in the way we treat others, I think we can manage the world.
Wait a minute.
How can we manage the world, Z big if nobody wants us to anymore?
We can manage the world, but the West is not wanted anymore.
The West can't.
The world cannot be dominated anymore by the West, yet he says that we can manage the world, and here's we're imperialists.
Nothing we do is for good.
We're colonialists and imperialists.
So by the way, uh I think Zabignyv Zeshinski is agreeing with me on the Obama doctrine.
The Obama doctrine is that the masses have awakened and that the West can no longer dominate the world.
Now, one other thing.
The masses have awakened politically is absurd.
In this country, the masses are going to sleep politically.
In this country, there is more political ignorance than at any time in my life.
In this country, there is more political disinformation.
There's political awakening.
Where?
In Obama's brother's hut.
In Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, where is this political awakening taking place?
All these people, the masses, the classes rising up and demanding their own independence.
Where?
If you do that in Venezuela, you get shot, you get put in jail, same thing in Cuba.
What in the world is he talking about?
He has just made the case of the Obama doctrine.
That is, United States is uh not a superpower, there's nothing exceptional, and we don't we can't dominate the world.
Uh we that to say we dominated the world in a in a forceful manner is a reason Jimmy Carter was a rotten president, and he had questionable people around him.
The United States is exceptional.
It dominates the world as we've documented in economic output, in lifestyle, in standard of living, in technology, medicine.
We got simply because of our freedom, not because we're evil.
We're not dictators, we're not dominators.
We're liberators.
And yet here's the Big Nev Jesinski explaining the Obama doctrine as we're guilty.
We're guilty of imperialism, we're guilty of colonialism, and um and so we we're we're it it serves us right to be cut down to size.
And now we're imperialism.
This is more left-wing clap trap.
But there you have it, the Obama doctrine.
All right, to the phones.
Luann in Morganton, uh uh, North Carolina.
Hi, great to have you here with us.
Megadiddos Rush from Morganton.
I am so thrilled to be able to talk to you.
You started saying something about Morganton this morning about the uh unemployment rate.
It is so bad.
Here, my husband has been laid off from caterpillar since January the twenty-ninth of this year.
I think I think uh you're mistaken about that.
Uh, because the president of the United States said that Caterpillar was going to be rehiring people after his uh stimulus bill was uh was was signed into law.
So uh your uh your husband maybe I mean I'm I'm sure Caterpillar is just roaring back to life with new jobs every day.
You're dreaming, Rush.
Here, we've got a sign in the window of our car saying, hey Obama, your stimulus ain't working because I'm not.
Hey, Obama, your stimulus ain't working because I'm not.
That's a great bumper sticker.
Well, thank you.
Thank you.
I came up with that.
Here we have been fretting over how is he going to get back to work?
There is no hope.
He just got a letter from Caterpillar.
They are on rolling layoff right now with a few people that have still working.
But wait, don't you remember Obama saying on the eve of signing his stimulus bill that caterpillar CEOs said they're going to be rehiring people left and right with a responsible stimulus package, and uh then Obama, you know, they went out there to Peoria, they had a big ceremony with the uh local congressman there and the caterpillar CEO.
Well, Obama thinks one thing, and we know something else.
We know we're gonna lose our house if you don't know.
Obama works makes it up as he goes along.
He has a media that is pliant and compliant and helps him spread all these myths.
Like we played earlier today, CNN money reporter Christine Romans talking about how great the economy is.
We're roaring back.
You're 401k.
You can't wait to open the envelope now to see all the gains that you've made in there.
Stock market had a great comeback in a second.
Wow, it's just going through your frugality, you're spending less, and you're happier than ever before.
This is the report from CNN today.
Uh what Luann's talking about here is uh AP story, unemployment rates rose in all the largest U.S. metro areas for the fifth straight month in May.
372 metro areas are tracked by the labor department.
The jobless rates in May rose from one year ago in all 372 metro areas.
Kokomo, Indiana jumped to 18.8%.
It was 11% last year.
And I guarantee you most of these cities are run or have been run for many, many moons uh by liberal Democrats.
Who is next?
Shane in Morristown, New Jersey.
Hi, welcome to the EIB network.
Hello.
Uh hello there, Rush.
Uh Rock Chuck Jayhawk and Megadittos, the painfully liberal Northeast.
For you, I was listening to you uh yesterday about this cap and tax uh abomination and who liberals Not only destroy so many jobs, but it will specifically destroy the independent oil and gas industry in this country.
That's its intent.
That's its intent.
This is what you've got to understand.
It's to destroy traditional forms of energy and go the clean route, all these green things.
That's that's the intent.
It's it's like big oil.
Coniko Phillips said, after seeing cap and trade, well, we're just going to shut down our domestic operations because we can afford these taxes.
We're just going to shut down domestic operations and we'll import more oil.
Meanwhile, our brilliant president of the United States out there saying that this bill will get us energy independence in 20 years.
Every day, every day is becoming a crock.
I gotta take a break.
We'll be back and continue.
Thanks, Shane, for the phone call, EIB Network and El Rushable back before you know it.
Your guiding light through times of trouble, confusion, murkiness, tumult, chaos, disaster, and even the good times.
Great to have you with us, Rush Limbaugh, serving humanity simply by showing up.
800-282-2882 back to the phones to Saratoga Springs, New York.
And Michelle, nice to have you here.
Hello.
Hi, Russ.
Uh, it's an honor to speak with you.
Thank you.
Um, you mentioned before a couple of breaks ago that uh based on this new cap and tax bill that the government is now going to be putting an energy efficiency rating on your home when you put it on the market.
Um I'm wondering if now will your perspective buyers be constrained by banks for a mortgage rather than because of their credit, but now because they want to buy a home that isn't energy efficient.
Well, the way I read this is that they won't be allowed to sell.
You won't be allowed to sell an energy inefficient home.
Oh my gosh.
You're gonna have to, before you can sell it, you're gonna have to modernize it according to Obama's standards.
With the the proper kind of uh windows and drains, even you know, if you if you've if you've got a microwave oven that's uh uh not energy efficient or a stove, uh uh you may not be able to sell the house until you make these improvements.
But this is the point.
There's also uh uh in in the bill, these mandates can change on a whim.
The bill allows for the stated mandates to be changed any time somebody thinks that it's important to do so.
So you could embark on a plan according to the law to make your home energy efficient so you can sell it.
And after you do all that, they could just at some point down the line change it and make the more stringent and force you to go back and do even more.
Which is gonna make it you're you you you and you'd build that into the sale price of the house, which is gonna make your house uh attractive to fewer buyers.
More houses cost the fewer, you know, the smaller the universe of people can afford them.
Right.
Now they rush, this can't happen in America.
Come on, presidents don't have uh kind of authority, uh power.
It's happening.
It happened in the House of Representatives.
All it's gotta do is pass the Senate and it's law, folks.
That's all that has to happen.
All that has to happen is this stupid thing has to pass the Senate, which is also run by Democrats, and we've got our share of squishy rhinos in there who buy into this environmentalist wacko garbage.
So I mean this is serious stuff.
Can't happen here, but it's happening.
I guess.
See, this is a one uh uh it's really unfair to callers uh when when I say what I have to say.
There's nothing left for them to say.
They're just sitting there with their mouths open in awe.
He's saying, well, it's partly that.
It's partly they can't believe what I just said.
They well, they realize what I've just said is true, but I didn't.
Or they fainted.
Uh one one of the two.
Let's see.
There's a column by George Will today about the Supreme Court decision yesterday regarding Sonya Sotomayor, the Ricci case, the firefighters in New Haven.
And it's a great piece.
It's a great piece by Mr. Will, four justices unable to see beyond race.
Although New Haven's firefighters Deservedly won in the Supreme Court.
It is deeply depressing that they won narrowly five to four.
The egregious behavior by that city's government in a context of racial rabble rousing did not seem legally suspect to even one of the courts for liberals, whose harmony seemed to reflect result-oriented rather than law-driven reasoning.
Mr. Wills seems surprised, and I've I'm sure a lot of the many of you in this audience are surprised too.
Folks, do you remember what F. Scott Fitzgerald said about the rich?
He said the rich are different from you and me.
Liberals are different from you and me.
Thank you.
I think it's time to forget holding out hope for liberal judges, folks.
They are not like us.
They don't look at the judicial system the way we do.
They don't look at the law the way we do.
The liberal brain fires in a totally different way.
Years and years and years of propaganda has robbed liberals of the ability to reason and think.
They are programmed human robots.
Somebody got hold of them, either in the 60s, in college, junior high, when they're watching cartoons on TV, Captain Planet, whatever it is, they don't think like we do.
They just don't.
I I was not surprised at all.
I wasn't, you know, maybe for a scant second, disappointed 5-4, but then I grabbed hold of myself in a moment of reality.
Barack Obama is a liberal, a radical, and he thinks we need empathy on the court, and sure is sure as hell.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in her dissenting opinion, said the firefighters certainly deserve the sympathy of the court.
No, they don't.
They deserve the law.
They deserve justice.
They don't deserve sympathy.
That's not what courts are about.
But even though they deserve sympathy, they didn't get enough to win in the liberal mind.
Why?
Because liberals practice racism.
Investors Business Daily Editorial calls it racial favoritism.
Whatever it is, they side with minorities.
They believe that the majority in this country is corrupt, immoral, and unjust, and must pay.
And the court system is how one of the many ways that the majority is going to pay.
The tax system and redistribution is another way.
The majority is going to pay for all of the pain and suffering it has inflicted on the unions and on the minorities and so forth.
This is how liberals think, whether they're on the court or whether they're asking for contributions to acorn.
They're no different.
Stephen Breyer.
We got to look to foreign law if we can't find precedent in our own law to rule the way we want to.
They don't think like we do.
It's misplaced hope to think that liberals are going to see reason the way we do in the law.
They don't look at the law as a means of finding legal adjudications to cases.
They look at the law as and court system as a way to level the playing field according to their view of how it's unfair.
Four votes could not possibly see the legal constitutional issues in this case.
This is very instructive for all of us to see just how the liberal mind operates.
Scott Fitzgerald, remember the big book.
Remember the big book?
The Great Gatsby.
The rich are different.
Needs to be updated.
Liberals are different.
Liberals function in a totally foreign way.
And you have to apply yourself as I have done my whole life to understand these people.
Most people don't care to go to that trouble because once you figure out who they are, it depresses you even more.
Pay dirt, folks, Peter, Time Magazine, Mark Halpern on his blog at Time Magazine already has the full transcript of my salient comments on the potential for President Obama to serve beyond 2016 and the headline at Time Magazine The Nightmare or the Dream.
People are dreaming about my whole point.
At uh at any rate, Pay Dirt.
All right.
This is how we get things in the drive-by news cycle.
There will be discussions on this, with me being proposed as a lunatic, but yet they will discuss my idea.
Ravings of a madman, and then they'll talk about it seriously.
And if they'll get two or three days out of this on the cable networks.
They ought to be paying me.
Janet in Lancaster, North Carolina.
Great to have you here on the EIB network.
Hi.
Thank you, Rush.
I know you've heard this a million times, but it really is a thrill to talk to you.
Thank you very much.
Uh I was heard earlier about Mark Sanford and uh the letters.
First of all, how can anyone think that it's also romantic and just swoon when the man has cheated on his wife?
Well, you know, I I know, see, again now.
You are asking a rational question about liberal women in the media.
You're right.
They are different.
They don't think uh they're they're I've read them, and they think, oh, this is real love.
This is the real thing.
He needs to marry this woman.
He needs to leave his wife.
It's not working.
Everybody understands this, and go marry this woman.
And then he needs to understand that gays are not allowed to do this.
Uh is what one female reporter said.
They are swooning over this.
These liberal media babes are swooning over his love letters.
Any man who would send me a love letter that was pre-composed.
No, his are not pre-composed.
His are not pre-he wrote his.
In the story uh t that that's in the politico, the uh woman's name, her last name is Lovely.
She went out and found a romance coach.
And the romance coach has a website where you can log on and get pre-written love letters.
But Sanford wrote his own.
He's special.
How stupid can people be?
I mean, a precomposable of it.
I know his weren't.
Well, no, wait a second now.
I have the same view of grieving cards.
Yeah, you're right.
Or I mean, why do why do I need to go to a store to find a grieving card to say something that I couldn't come up with myself?
You're right.
Even if you're not sure.
No, I don't.
No, no, no, no, but no, it's not that I want to write greeting cards.
I'm just saying, yeah, it's the same thing with Valentine's Day.
It's a holiday out of duty.
Right.
I mean, everybody goes out and orders the flowers, the candy.
No wonder women are gaining weight after they get married or relationship.
Flowers, can they go to dinner?
Because they have to.
Not because anybody wants to.
It's just there.
And the greeting card business, you know, Valentine's Day was created.
I think Hallmark invented it.
Oh, probably.
On oh, by the way, on July 5th, my husband and I will have our 28th wedding anniversary, and I weigh 90 pounds.
I have not gained weight.
28th wedding anniversary.
Congratulations.
Thank you, thank you.
And that's the way it's supposed to be.
You know, uh people just have the wrong idea about romance and obligation and walls, you know, like you said, it's liberal.
It's all liberal.
Uh yeah, but you have to understand the the this is standards, this kind of thing are um flexible today.
And uh I I find it fascinating that it's liberal media women who are swooning.
I mean, now they're all excited because they have discovered that Sanford made more than one trip to Argentina to see the woman.
He's this it's it's like it's like these liberal women are saying, if only me, if it was only me.
Are they missing love in their lives?
And they're finding it vicariously through um this.
Well, they might be missing romance, I'm Sure, who knows.
Um, you ever dated a liberal woman?
Have you?
Well, Snerdley with his review, I shall stand mute.
Uh, because I respect people's privacy, including my own.
Here's Janet.
Oh, Janet, thank you, Redder.
I'm glad you called Rich, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Great to have you on the EIB network, sir.
Hello.
Hello, Megadiddos from the highest unemployment state in the Michigan.
How are you doing today?
Very well, sir.
Thanks much.
Um, you know, the more people that are unemployed and whatnot that don't have jobs, the more they're gonna depend on the government to take care of them.
And that seems kind of like what's going on right now.
Barack is promising the health care, and he's promising pretty much the world to everybody, and yet you got unemployment benefits too, and the more unemployment benefits you have, the less employment uh get up and go you have.
Yeah, I I know this is all, I think I think you've sized it up pretty well.
Um there is there is a I'm convinced a plan.
I I think the Obama administration loves the chaos.
It creates opportunity for them.
Ron Emanuel is as much said so.
This is a crisis is too too great to waste.
These financial crises is a chance to do what you always wanted to do.
And in liberal democrats' case, it's grow government, rob the private sector, deplete it of capital, and make more and more people dependent on government.
So you have more and more people unemployed, and they've lost their health coverage, they have to go Cobra, pay for it.
Here comes Obama promising national health care.
And an ever growing number of people out of work say, ooh, cool.
So a foundation's built for it that grows, and then you've got other standard operating liberals that and Democrats that believe in this kind of stuff anyway, so it's it's it this is formidable to um to oppose.
But again, I I cite the Rasmussen uh uh survey, the uh approval index of minus two in negative territory for the first time.
What Scott Rasmussen does is uh contrast and compare the strongly approve of Obama and the strongly disapprove of Obama in his poll, and they gets the approval index.
And he's ranged from plus sixteen to plus ten to plus nine.
Last couple days he was at zero, now he's at minus two.
And it could well be that the people of the country are getting suspicious, fed up, and worn out.
We just don't know it because the state-run media doesn't report it.
And I remember I said back in January, the state-run media was able to convince people in the midst of a great economic boom that we were in a recession.
They were able to do that.
Now they are going to try to convince people who are unemployed, and unemployment is rising, and trillions of dollars of family wealth have been lost.
The drive-bys are now turning around to try to tell you the economy's good.
It's prop up Obama, he's too big to fail and so forth.
So, in fact, Robert B. Rice, has a piece today uh in Salon.com.
Well, he used to do commentary on on um some financial show on PBS that was on around the time of McNeil Lara.
And after his commentary, he would go uh something like this.
I'm Robert B. Reich.
When you meet the guy, hi, I'm Robert B. Rice.
Oh, miss nice to meet you, Mr. Reich.
Of course not.
It was on-air signature things, so we're just lampooning it here.

What can I do to help Obama?
The public has to force him to do the right thing.
Someone recently approached me, writes Mr. Rice at the cheese counter of a local supermarket, asking, what can I do?
At first I thought the person was seeking advice about a choice of cheese, but I soon realized the question was larger than that.
It was, what can I do about the way things are going in Washington?
People who voted for Barack Obama tend to fall into one of two camps.
Trusters, who believe he's a good man with the right values, doing everything he can, and cynics Who have become disillusioned with his bailouts of Wall Street, flimsy proposals for taming the street, willingness to give away 85% of cap and trade pollution permits, seeming reversals on eavesdropping and torture, squishiness in a public option for health care.
We must make Obama do the right things.
Email, write, and phone the White House.
Robert D. Reich is upset.
And a lot of Democrats are Obama ain't coming through.
