Brian, if you don't get this printer out of here by the end of the day, I'm throwing it up against the wall, and you can pick up the pieces.
I can't use Snerdley's got the best printer in the place, but it's too big for the way my office is configured.
I would I need a stepladder to get into it to get pages that it printed, and I can't do that during the program.
Sorry for the inside baseball, ladies and gentlemen.
Just the normal back and forth that goes on here at the EIB Southern Command.
Welcome back.
It's Rush Limbaugh behind a golden EIB microphone serving humanity, while at the same time having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
A telephone number is 800-282-2882.
The email address is L Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
I just love.
The way the drive bys and the Democrats have been popped out of their gourd over the fact that Bill Ayers is now entered the mainstream.
A New York Times had a piece.
What was it, Sunday?
Was it Sunday or I think it was Sunday?
They had a piece on Sunday about airs and the relationship, and they concluded that they only met twice.
It was just chock full of absolute lies.
The New York Times did its best to deflect all this, but they failed.
And the drive-by is of Democrats are beside themselves now that this has finally come out.
And that's why they're saying that if McCain and Palin continue to hit this, it's gonna hurt them.
And uh Obama's saying, well, you know, McCain's just having one of these tirades, losing control of himself and so forth.
They've done everything they can to hide the real Obama from everybody.
It's starting to come out.
Sarah Palin from the Washington Post blog today.
Palin adds Fannie May execs to lists of objectionable Obama associates.
She is taking it to them.
And by the way, this about Palin, this is a whole story.
The crowd estimate in Jacksonville today, 10,000 people at 10 a.m. to hear Sarah Palin.
7,000 people were in the landing.
3,000 people were outside.
This is what has the the drive-by is the Democrats beside themselves.
Because you know, this big crowd business, why that was wholly owned by Obama, the most merciful Lord Barack Obama.
He was the one drawing all the big crowds.
He was the one generating all the excitement.
Now it's Sarah Palin.
She said, now our opponent's campaign is claiming for the first time Obama was not aware of Ayres radical background.
Maybe he just thought they were well, she goes on to say uh he didn't know he launched his own political career in the living room of a domestic terrorist.
What's next?
Claiming he didn't know that two of his biggest supporters were running Fannie Mae.
Maybe he just thought they were guys in his Washington neighborhood.
Now she didn't name Franklin Reigns or James Johnson yet.
But I hope she does.
Two former Fannie Mae execs who are Obama supporters, but the crowd cheered loudly as she sought to connect Obama to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack.
She's talking about character.
Obama's lack of character in vague terms.
She outlined some of her running mates' proposals on economic issues, freezing uh increases in most domestic spending to balance the federal budget, cutting funding for earmarks and so forth.
But much of the rhetoric was about character.
She said, Tonight it's town hall time.
We'll see the difference between a man who puts his faith in government and a leader who puts his faith in you.
A politician who observes and analyzes us and a leader who knows and understands us the difference between a guy who makes promises and a guy who gets done.
And the post concludes this while Obama and McCain have occasionally had days in the campaign trail of recent weeks with uh only one or two events.
Palin had a packed Tuesday schedule with a speech in a fundraiser in Jacksonville, a rally in Pensacola, and then a speech in Greenville, North Carolina.
She also did an interview with Greta Van Susterin, who was cheered loudly as she walked into the Jacksonville rally with the press.
So uh uh Palin has is they they've they've you know we were asking a couple weeks ago, where is she?
How come they got her under wraps?
And then we said turn her loose and let her be who she is.
Have her please have her stop mirroring McCain.
What's happened is McCain is mirroring her now, given his remarks in Albuquerque yesterday.
And the drive-by is a flummoxed.
They don't dig it.
They're not happy.
Here, listen to this.
This is last Saturday.
We're soundbite number uh 6B.
This is last Saturday in Carson, California, campaign rally.
Governor Sarah Palin speaking on Madeline Albright.
I'm reading on my Starbucks Mocha Cup, okay?
The quote of the day.
You'll never believe what the quote was.
It was Madeline Albright, former Secretary of State, and UN ambassador.
And Madeline has as her quote of the day for Starbucks.
Now she said it.
I didn't.
She said, there's a place in hell reserved for women who don't support other women.
That's Sarah Palin last Saturday in Carson.
Meanwhile, she goes to Starbucks.
She really goes to Starbucks.
There have been a lot of fact-checking now done on some of the things that Joe Biden said in the debate.
And he said one of the things he did you go down and have breakfast at Katie's restaurant.
It hadn't been there in years.
He hasn't been to Katie's restaurant in years, and he put it in the wrong place when he did talk about it.
This guy, he tells Home Depot.
Nobody can ever remember seeing Biden in a Home Depot.
The last time he was in a home, unless he was in there before the plugs.
You know, people don't recognize it now when he goes in with the plugs, goes in as the Chia Pet.
And here's Gwen Eiffel.
Now, this is this is great.
This is on Meet the Press yesterday, Tom Broka.
Oh, something interesting.
I just learned about the debate tonight.
The town hall meeting.
Both candidates agree there'd be no follow-up questions.
But nobody told Brokaw.
So Broco has not agreed to no follow-ups.
So tonight it's one of the tune-in factors to follow up or not follow up.
The candidates both agree to no follow-ups, but oh but but nobody nobody told Broka.
Brokaw claims he doesn't know this, so he may not be bound by it.
Anyway, on Meet the Press on Sunday, Brokaw talked to Gwen Eiffel about the VEP debate, and he says, you know, you asked her a question, she completely ignored it.
More than ignored it.
She blew me off, I think it's a technical term.
The understanding was that we were going to have a debate.
Joe Biden decided that he was going to debate John McCain.
And she decided she was going to give a stump speech to the American people.
There's very little a moderator can do other than say, no, no, no, listen, I ask the question.
Please, please answer.
Yeah, well, she did answer.
She said, I may not answer these questions the way you want me to, but I'm going to speak to the American people.
Bullseye.
Bingo.
These drive-bys are flummoxed.
They can't handle it.
They are still discombobulated over the fact that Sarah Palin is who she is and that she's a Republican and she's on the vice presidential ticket.
And we'll be very, very close to the Oval Office in uh in a lot of ways.
They just are beside themselves over this.
They're getting defensive now.
These polls.
Now, you can look at these polls.
We got CBS with uh four-point spread for Obama.
We got uh Zogby with a three-point spread for actually 2.4 spread for Obama with likely voters.
Now you can you can analyze this one of two ways.
You can say, well, you know, the drive-by is are just showing this so that after the debate tonight, that Obama is going to be given a huge surge later in the week on the basis of his performance.
And you know, I'm not so sure that Zogby does this, but we do know that Washington Post ABC, that AP, whoever they use, uh, and a lot of other polls have have markedly changed the percentages of Republicans and Democrats as respondents in the polls.
So, for example, after the Republican convention, they took a poll with an equal representation of Republicans and Democrats, and it showed McCain and Palin with a huge bounce.
But then a week later, ten days later, another poll, and they reduced the percentage of Republicans.
And they said, Look, look, the bounce is gone.
Well, they reduced the percentage of Republicans, and that's the way they take away the momentum.
They perceive to take away the momentum when the momentum actually hasn't shifted.
So you could also say, well, maybe this poll, these two polls are a sign that Obama's peaked.
We'll just have to wait and see for uh, you know, what these uh future polls have to say.
But I wouldn't discount the possibility that the these two polls showing a tight race now are designed to show a widening Obama lead later in the week after tonight's debate, because this, of course, is what the media wants, and the media are the polls, other than well, Zogby's with Reuters.
So he does have a uh a media partner.
Now, about Obama to show you how discombobulated he is in his campaign is all of his buddies have gone underground.
We never hear from writer heyers anymore.
They're just you can't find them.
He's locked his wife, Michelle My Bell in a closet with some duct tape on her mouth, so that she can't scream her rage and anger be heard through the closed door.
Obama knows that he needs to keep silent those who actually know him best.
He's got to keep silent those who know him best and those who do not like this country.
And this is a post-racial candidate.
He says he's a post-racial candidate, but he has been successful, using the race card to his full advantage.
So far, he has labeled Bill Clinton, Geraldine Ferraro, Sarah Palin, John McCain, and me all racist.
All those white people in Pennsylvania, Missouri, and Ohio who voted for Hillary, they're racist too.
Those are the bitter clingers.
All those Democrats who might vote for McCain, racist.
And of course, if you're registered Republican, you might as well be a member of the KKK, racist all, according to Obama.
But when he's pressed about it, he denies any of it.
He's a uniter.
He's postracial.
Hell, he's even postpartisan.
He doesn't even know these things are being said in his name.
He doesn't even know who these people who are his best friends really are.
He's asking us to believe an awful lot.
You know, Reagan, then this is interesting, folks, an interesting observation, which is why, of course, you tune to this program.
You remember Reagan used to say there's no limit to what can be done so long as people don't care who gets the credit.
Obama obviously doesn't believe that.
Obama wants the credit for things he has never done.
He wants the credit for things he has never advocated.
He wants the credit for anything good that occurs, but he loves to assign blame for events and behavior that go sour.
He assigns that blame to his opponents.
He uses uh clever phrases, twists of logic, old worn class warfare platitudes and tactics, feeds on the anxiety of the people during challenging economic times or challenging international situations, always looking to exploit them, draw out their fears, and then like magic offers himself as the answer to troubles or concerns.
I warned about this two years ago.
But he's done nothing.
He has done diddly squat.
He talks.
He takes credit for things he had no participation in.
He warned two years ago, three years ago about this problem.
Nobody listened to him.
We should start listening to him.
His fingerprints and the fingerprints of his associates are all over this subprime mortgage business, which is responsible for this economic free fall that's taking place on Wall Street.
This is a brought to you by exclusively by the Democrat Party scandal.
Quick timeout, coming right back.
Rush Limboy, your guiding light.
Thrilled to be here.
It's an honor.
800 282-2882.
Let me give you an analogy.
Let me try another way of putting this in perspective.
Let me compare O.J. Simpson to Bill Ayers.
Everybody sees that it's clearly not cool to go out and play golf with O.J. Who was?
I was talking to somebody over the weekend.
And they were in a restaurant somewhere in Florida when OJ walked in with some people.
They got up and left.
They didn't want to be in the same restaurant with a man who they thought had murdered two people.
By the way, O.J. was shocked at the verdict, I'm told, but he's very confident that his record, the running back who has killed the most people, will hold up for a long time.
But nobody wants, everybody knew that was uncool.
O.J. Simpson was someone to be shunned.
He's an unrepentant murderer.
Bill Ayers is like O.J. Simpson.
He's unrepentant about what he did.
He blew up buildings.
He was afraid he didn't do enough in blowing up buildings.
He is still trying to push the same ideology that he did when he was a bomber.
But now he has allies like Obama pushing his radical ideas using the system this time around.
Bill Ayers should be shunned by society, not given validation for his ideas, and people who associate with Bill Ayers, knowing full well who he is, knowing full well what he stands for, knowing full well what he attempts to do, should also be shunned.
Obama should be shunned.
Obama should be like all of us, tempted to leave a room when O.J. Simpson comes in.
Obama embraces these people.
He embraces people like Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.
It's hard to believe, is it not?
Ayers knew he was a terrorist on 9-1101 when Ayers uh uh the Obama knew that, when Ayers wrote an op-ed, the New York Times saying in essence he was unrepentant.
Did nobody, not a single person tell Obama that Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dorn had been infamous leaders of the weather underground.
It's pathetic that he will um be allowed to escape from this.
He won't be if I have anything to say about it.
Did Obama go through life in a daze?
Of course not, folks.
He befriended these slime balls.
They formed the core of his belief system.
Bill Ayers now has the aura of respectability.
Why, he's a teacher.
He's an educator.
He has a surrogate.
He has Barack Obama.
Bill Ayers has not changed his opinion of America at all.
He still hates it.
He wants this to become a socialist communist country as fast as he can make it happen.
Bill Ayers knows he can't do it in public.
He knows that he's too damaged.
So he's got this little man child that he's either brainwashed, I don't think he has to have brainwashed him, he just he's mentored him.
He's got Barack Obama to do it for him within the system, under the guise of hope, under the guise of change, under the guise of rebirthing America in a way that can make it live up to the ideals that we all hope that it would live up to for all these years, but sadly no longer does.
Now you've seen the story that the uh drive-bys are gearing up to call Sarah Palin a racist.
She has racist uh tendencies.
Her comments tend toward racist APO story, A.P. Obama.
It was an AP analysis.
But I have a question, ladies and gentlemen.
Why is it racist?
For America's sweetheart, Sarah Palin to criticize a white guy a terrorist.
Why is it not racist when Jeremiah Wright attacks all whites?
To the phones we go.
We're gonna go to Conover, North Carolina.
And uh Mike, your first today, nice to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Thank you, Rush.
Pleasure to talk to you.
Yes, sir.
Uh I got an update on Michelle Obama.
Uh I guess he uh decided she'd serve repentance and pulled the tape off her mouth because uh according to the North Carolina News Network at uh lunchtime today, she's in uh Jacksonville, North Carolina, uh meeting with some military families down there, excuse me, about the uh hardships they're undergoing while their family members are deployed.
Really?
I haven't seen the TV cameras there.
I I haven't seen this.
I'm not doubting you.
I just haven't seen any reports of this.
I haven't seen videotape of Michelle Obama meeting with big uh you know grieving uh military families.
Right.
Uh well I just I just heard that on the radio.
I don't know if it's uh you know, actual fact or what.
I just heard Michelle Obama's meeting with the Well, what is what is she what is she saying to them about the hardships that they're undergoing while their family members are deployed?
Well, I figure I'm a 20-year military veteran myself uh in the Navy.
Um you know there's hardships.
I've Everybody knows that going in.
I just figure they're pandering to the military vote now.
Well, I don't think we obviously pandering to it.
I I think I think they're trying to uh to go out and get some of it on the basis that there are some military people that are unhappy.
We know that the left has uh has been able to dredge up some uh some military people who uh uh will profess to hate Bush and to you know sell whatever line that the Democrats want want sold.
I'm just you know my my my attitude uh about this is that military families know what's ahead.
They know what's in store.
A lot of military families have members who are veterans who've already been deployed and have come home when another family member goes.
And so I I think you know, this this is to me going to be very ineffective.
This is typical liberalism go out.
These people are victims.
They're victims, and Michelle Obama's gonna tell them that her husband will make their victim status all right.
Some bailout, Dow Jones Industrial Average now down two twenty-eight.
Barney Frank claims conservatives are trying to partly blame the nation's economic woes on black people.
This is an effort, I believe, to appeal to a kind of anger in people, uh, Barney Frank said.
The bizarre notion that the community reinvestment act somehow is the cause of the whole problem.
Conservatives don't mind that.
They're aware that the affordable housing goals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack and the Community Reinvestment Act aimed to help poor people, and let's be honest, the fact that some people are black, some poor people are black doesn't hurt either from their standpoint.
Congressman Frank, have you no shit Well?
It's a redundant question.
We're not blaming economic woes on black people, we're blaming you, sir.
We're blaming you.
We're blaming you people who ran Fannie Mae and Freddie.
Who said that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack were set up for affordable housing?
So first I've heard of this.
They were aware of the affordable housing goals of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack.
We now are.
We certainly now know what the goals were to get people who can't afford mortgages into homes.
Obviously, they're gonna be poor people, by definition.
But those people are not the problem.
You can't blame them for coming along and oh, you're gonna give me a house, fine, I'll take it.
Don't have to pay for it even better.
Especially if the uh interest rate changes and so forth.
No, no, Congressman, you're the problem.
Chris Dodd is the problem.
Pelosi's the problem, and uh and Harry Reed and all of you.
Barack Obama's the problem.
Your group Acorn is the problem.
That's who we're blaming, and that's who I hope McCain blames.
We got a guy on the phone who has the same sentiment.
Joe and Martha's Vineyard.
Welcome, sir, to the EIB network.
Hello.
Hey, how are you?
Good.
Thank you.
It is an honor to talk to you.
I can't believe I've been on hold for a while.
It's great.
Anyway, uh my my reason for calling is that um I definitely hope that uh John McCain points the finger at these people that you just mentioned, you know, like Gorelic Dodd, you know, Reed Johnson, who's on his uh little ch whatever whatever you call a campaign thing.
Frank is like a total blowhard.
I'm sorry.
Um I just hope he likes this goes there.
And I don't know, I don't see it happening.
You know, I mean, I he needs to like toughen up and realize that this is not like uh like back in like the Civil War where everybody everyone was a gentleman, you know.
He has to like point the finger and bring this stuff out because the American public's like not seeing it.
I don't know if that makes sense.
I'm sorry.
No, no, excuse me, it does.
Uh Mike grab sound like it's 19 and 20.
We're gonna listen to McCain again from yesterday in Albuquerque, uh, New Mexico.
We all know what Senator McCain has been doing.
Senator McCain believes, and it's it's because of uh I I guess events in his mind that took place in the past, he believes that the key to victory is independent voters, and he believes he he has been led to believe, or understands, he thinks he understands, that independent voters do not like the usual Washington ritual of criticism, one side criticizing the other.
He he he's he's got it indelibly branded on his brain that the people who decide presidential elections don't like partisanship.
He has it in his head that the people who decide presidential elections like honorable campaigns.
They don't like criticism of opponents.
They want people to be able to work together.
Now, this is a myth.
It has always been a myth put forward by the media.
It's been a myth put for and a reason for it.
The objective of it is to get conservatives to stop sounding conservative.
It's to get conservatives to clam up.
And it's worked.
It has worked on way too many people.
It has worked on our conservative intelligentsia in the media.
They buy into this notion that somehow to be effective, you can't be partisan.
Now let me ask you a question.
Do the Democrats ever, ever stop being partisan?
How many of you see the Democrats losing everything they try?
They got the Congress back by what?
Did they reach across the aisle and say we're gonna do better and we're gonna work with everybody and we're not gonna be partisans anymore?
Didn't say that.
And even if they had, nobody would have believed them.
So Senator McCain thinks that criticizing politicians by name will uh uh offend independence and send them running away.
Now where are they gonna go?
Here's the thing I've never understood about this.
If these precious independents, if these precious moderates are people who don't like partisanship.
Now look at me, follow me on this.
If they don't like partisanship, and Senator McCain's out there trying to be nonpartisan and run an honorable campaign, and then the minute he starts getting partisan, these people that don't like partisanship are gonna go to the Democrats?
Would somebody explain to me the logic of this?
There is no logic in it because it's not true.
Independents don't sit around and wait for Republicans to be mean and wait for Republicans to get partisan and say, see, see, I told you so, and then go vote with Democrats who are the meanest SOBs in politics in my lifetime.
It just doesn't wash.
So Senator McCain, in my mind, has been dead wrong about this.
It may serve him well in Congress for whatever, getting along with these guys here, but this is not how elections turn.
You win elections by firing up the people who are for you.
You do not win elections by assuming those people are going to be there and then go attract a bunch of mushbrains on the basis that they don't like partisanship.
Well, hell's bells.
If we're gonna have people who don't like partisanship determine the presidency, count me out because people who don't like partisanship are people who don't want to hear the truth.
So he has this calculation that those are the people that determine the presidency.
And he's got it in his head that people out there love and appreciate and adore him because he walks across the aisle.
And I think it's all a myth.
This business of making sure you don't offend anybody and make sure you don't get partisan, that's nothing but the Democrats and their allies in the media trying to squelch and silence conservatives from speaking.
And admit it, folks, this is a bit what is so frustrating to us when it has been frustrating about Senator McCain.
Because we know how to win.
We know what wins.
Every time it's tried anyway.
And so lo and behold, what do we have?
Onto the scene comes America's sweetheart.
Sarah Palin.
Do you think Sarah Palin in the last week well hell?
Do you think Sarah Palin since she was introduced as McCain's running mate?
Do you think she has been pursuing independence?
A couple times where she's been forced to mirror McCain.
She's out there naming names.
She's out there taking no prisons, and look at the crowds that she's drawing and look at the defensive posture she has put the Obama campaign on.
I've always I've always resented, and you know if you've listened a long time, I have resented this notion that everything in America has to be tailored to a bunch of people who wouldn't have an opinion if it would save their lives because they don't want to offend anybody.
The great moderates, the great independents.
Moderates are no such things.
They are linguine-spined liberals in waiting.
These moderates and independents, these are the people that fall prey to the phony premise of fairness put forth by the Democrats.
Moderates and independents are every much.
No, better not say this.
Well, what the hell?
I've already dived in.
Let me sink to the bottom here before I surface for air.
Going after moderates and independence is a way to secure our defeat.
Because doing so prevents us from being who we are.
And we end up being like Obama, presenting a picture of ourselves that isn't true.
It is when we go after independents and moderates, we accept the definition of ourselves placed on us by liberals that we're mean spirited racist, sexist homophobes, and we got to go out and show we're not like all those other conservatives.
You can trust us.
And the moderates and independents, all these polls and focus groups round them up.
And these people love being the star of the show every four years.
They love being on these post-debate focus group shows where they get to tell us what they saw and what they saw is going to be the determining factor for the uh for the presidential.
And undecided how in the hell can anybody who is engaged even partially, even two days a week be undecided about this.
Now, don't misunderstand here.
I know, folks, that there's some people out there who may be aware there's an election coming up soon.
I'm not talking about them.
We know we've got differing levels of absorption and devotion and interest in the campaign, but people paying attention don't give me this garbage that they're changing their mind on a daily basis.
Well, rush will rush, well, then why are you talking about heirs?
Because, folks, there are a bunch of Democrats who are going to vote Obama simply because he's a Democrat who do not know who he is, and the media that they watch is not telling them.
Don't dare tell them.
Oh, aren't you trying to go out and get independence?
I think independents are going to reject me just because I'm so forceful.
I'm sure my message gets through to them.
But I believe firmly, I don't care if you're the candidate, if you're just somebody interested in the future, the country, you're deeply invested in it, you damn well have to be who you are, and you have to be passionate, and you have to tell people what you think in a positive upbeat way, even if it ends up being sounding critical of certain people.
Why shouldn't we be?
Why shouldn't we be critical of people who are a bunch of dumb coughs not thinking about it?
Why why why make them the stars of the show?
Why go out and appeal to them?
Now this is a roundabout way of saying.
I too hope McCain names names tonight.
The reason he hasn't is because most of the names are Democrats, and that would in his ma would destroy the whole notion that he's able to reach across the islands.
It's see, it's easier to attack your own party than it is the opposition when you're trying to present yourself here as uh a nonpartisan as somebody can cross the America first and all of uh all of this.
Let's listen to these two McCain soundbites from yesterday in Albuquerque, and then maybe we'll get an indication of what's on tap for night at the um at the town hall debate.
Here's the first of the two sound bites.
For a guy who's already authored two memoirs, he's not exactly an open book.
Whatever the question, whatever the issue, there's always a backstory with Senator Obama.
All people want to know is what has this man ever actually accomplished in government.
What does he plan for America?
In short, who is the real Barack Obama?
But my friends, you ask such questions, and all you get in response is another angry barrage of insults.
And here's the second McCain bite.
Senator Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis.
I guess he believes that if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough, it'll be believed.
But the truth is, I was the one who called at the time for tighter restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack.
It could have helped prevent this crisis from happening in the first place.
Senator Obama was silent on the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack and his Democratic allies in Congress, opposed every effort to reign them in.
As recently as September of last year, he said that some prime loans have been, quote, a good idea.
Well, Senator Obama, that good idea has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
Okay, I don't think McCain's going to name names tonight.
He'll name Obama.
The reason I say that is because Palin didn't today.
Palin talked all about the two executives at Fannie Mae, who are now advising Obama.
She did not mention their names, Franklin Rains and Jim Johnson.
If she didn't mention the names, I don't think Obama's going to.
So we'll have to wait and see.
By the way, what um what real quick little pop quiz, uh, ladies and gentlemen?
What do Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common?
You want me to ask it again?
What do Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden have in common?
Answer.
They both know people who have bombed the Pentagon.
You want to see what the bailout has done, ladies and gentlemen, the budget officials.
This is an APO story.
AP Obama.
Budget officials now say that the financial turmoil has wiped out an estimated two trillion dollars in retirement savings.
Two trillion dollars in retirement savings.
And meanwhile, what is happening on Capitol Hill?
Congress opens hearings on financial meltdown.
This is also from the Associated Press Obama, Julie Hirschfeld Davis, the in the tank reporter at the now bankrupt investment bank Lehman Brothers, and we got audio from this coming up, by the way, this hearing yesterday, arranged millions in bonuses for fired executives as it pleaded for a federal lifeline,
but it allowed lawmakers still smarting from a politically painful vote Friday for the largest federal market rescue in history to put a face on their outrage at corporate chieftains who took home hundreds of millions of dollars.
I mean, all you can do is laugh.
The very people who gave us the mess, the very people who screwed it up, and who now are written about by AP Obama as people who still smarting from a politically painful vote on Friday.
Now get to put a face on their outrage, outrage by beating up on Wall Street CEOs.
Two trillion bucks, folks, in retirement savings wiped out.
Now this is temporary.
The market's gonna come back.
It's only wiped out if you sell it.
Right.
Now keep that in mind.
But that headline and that story is AP Obama.
Your retirement, there is nothing that's going to convince me that this is not the October surprise to an extent.
Because now all of you retirement savings?
Who do you think's gonna read that and interpret it the wrong way?
Social Security recipients.
They're gonna think their social security's gone.
What are we now?
Three weeks, three and a half weeks before an election?
Is it three weeks?
It's about a month.
Is it three weeks?
November 4th, this is October 7th.
I tell you, folks, you can't convince me that some of this is not just falling right into the laps of Democrats the way they wanted it to.
Back to the phones, Heidi in Oceanside California.
Great to have you here.
Hi, Russ.
Just thank you for doing what you do for us every day.
Yeah, thank you.
And uh want to let you know you do keep us laughing with all your Barney Frank impressions.
People tell me they don't like that because it's irritating.
Oh, I we think it's hysterical.
Thank you.
So I'm pretty psyched about Sarah Pale and John McCain uh finally kicking butt out there.
Um and wanted to get your ideas on the Jerome Corsey story that um I heard this morning on the radio about him being apprehended in Africa.
He's in Kenya.
I think he went over there to try to find Obama's brother, give him some money.
Uh while launching a book uh uh tour over there on Obama.
Kenya, of course, where Obama's father is from.
Jerome Corsey from World Net Daily wrote a best-selling book on uh on Obama.
It it is a very strange coincidence, isn't it?
That a man who's written a critical book on Obama gets apprehended by Kenyan authorities on the eve of the day that he's supposed to go out and do a book tour over there.
Highly, highly suspect.
But you you we cannot assume Obama knows anything about this.
W we can't assume that Obama and his supporters have any knowledge of this.
I mean, they they don't know these kinds of things.
This is obviously Corsi did something to upset the authorities there and caused this to happen, like show up.
Yeah, it just seems like one more slimy thing Obama's got his hands in.
Um, what do you make of the story that he funneled money to getting the um African leader elected?
Nothing would surprise me about Obama.
I I I uh uh just look at Obama and O and Osama bin Laden have something very much in common.
They both know somebody who bombed a Pentagon.
Once you can say that about somebody, you cannot question the other people they know.
Get this AP Obama.
Headline McCain linked a group in Iran-Contra affair.
