Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
You know, oil prices are getting pretty low out there, folks.
They're hovering around $90 a barrel.
What's the Dow Jones Industrial Average right now?
Who's got it up?
That's upper.
It's down a little bit.
But I'm sitting here thinking that old Mahmoud Akhmadinezad could probably use an artificial boost in oil prices with an international incident.
such as shooting down a plane, a Hungarian plane.
Maybe something didn't happen.
I'll guarantee $90 a barrel is killing Iran.
It's killing Russia.
It's killing Venezuela.
Greetings, my friends.
Welcome.
Rush Limbaugh back after a fun-filled and thrill-packed weekend away.
Great to be with you.
Here's the phone number if you want to be on the program, 800-282-2882.
The email address, LRushbaugh at EIBNet.com.
Let's see.
The market plunge that the bailout was supposed to prevent happened, right?
It happened yesterday.
And guess what's going on yesterday and today?
Congress is conducting hearings grilling Wall Street CEOs.
This, it's just, it's too rich.
Yesterday, I was in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The new federal courthouse there was dedicated yesterday to my grandfather, Rush Limbaugh Sr.
And it was just a great honor for all of us in the Limbaugh family for this to happen yesterday.
It was about 90-minute ceremony.
And after it was all over, we left the tent where the ceremony was taking place, walked up to the steps in front of the courthouse for a bunch of us to cut the ribbon.
After we cut the ribbon, my cousin Dan, who now lives in St. Louis, West Point graduate, came up to me and said, you know, really can't wait for this election to end and you to get back to humor.
And I looked at him and I said, I know exactly what you mean.
And it got me to thinking about the intensity of this campaign and how serious it is because we're talking about what kind of country we're going to be for a long time in the future.
And McCain came out yesterday.
I was watching the television on the way back to Florida yesterday afternoon, and McCain was, where was he?
Was it in Albuquerque?
It was in Albuquerque, and he just came out smoking against Obama.
I've never heard McCain sound this way.
I got a couple sound bites.
Here's a portion, the first soundbite we have of the two.
For a guy who's already authored two memoirs, he's not exactly an open book.
Whatever the question, whatever the issue, there's always a backstory with Senator Obama.
All people want to know is what has this man ever actually accomplished in government?
What does he plan for America?
In short, who is the real Barack Obama?
But my friends, you ask such questions, and all you get in response is another angry barrage of insults.
Now, I wonder what this is.
Is this a setup for what McCain's strategy tonight during the town hall meeting is going to be?
I hope so.
But frankly, and I like him saying these things.
I really do.
But I wonder strategically if it would have been wiser for Senator McCain to spring all this stuff on Obama tonight as a kind of a surprise and a shock.
Now, I'll tell you something else that's going on out there, and it's effervescing.
And that is this whole business of Bill Ayers, this association with heirs.
It's starting to hit the Obama people very hard.
They're getting very defensive about this.
Axelrod's out there.
We're going to cover this in great detail as the program unfolds before your very eyes and ears.
Now, another thing interesting about this, I'm reading in a lot of places in the drive-by media that this is a waste of time to talk about Obama's associations.
Even some conservative media people are saying it's a waste of time.
It's a wrong tactic because the only thing that matters to people right now is the economy.
And if McCain doesn't get himself in the right position on the economy and so forth and so on, the election is over.
A lot of people are trying to put pressure on the McCain campaign to ignore all of the associations.
You know, there's a better word for this because the Obama people are running around saying, there's this guilt by association.
I didn't know Ayers.
I didn't know Ayers.
I didn't know what he was doing when I met him.
You want to hear something hilarious?
I was told, I didn't see this last night on Britt Hume's show on the Fox News channel that Mar Elias, in attempting to defend the Obama association with Bill Ayers, said that their kids attended the same school.
Now, that doesn't work out because Barry's little girls are six and ten, seven and ten, something.
Ayers' kids are 29, late 20s, early 30s.
I don't know how that works out.
Nobody's caught this, but it nevertheless is indicative of how the drive-bys are circling the wagons.
These are not associations.
This is what everybody has to understand.
This Thomas Sowell put this very well today in a column at National Review Online.
These are alliances.
Obama has alliances with Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright and Flager and all these other terrorists and wackos and fraud dealers such as Resco.
He allied with them.
And I think, as far as Obama, he doesn't care.
I don't think he cares that Ayers was a terrorist.
I think he knows, and his campaign knows he has to say that he didn't know.
But it wouldn't have stopped him because everything in Obama's life has been a calculation to get him to this point, establishing a base of operations in Chicago among the left to get the skids greased there as he needed to, and he would deal with all the fallout from it later.
And it's now starting to happen.
This Ayers situation is another example of Obama's morality option approach to governance.
He was willing.
This is the way to look at this.
He was willing to look past Ayers' terrorism to promote his political career.
There's no right and wrong for Obama.
There's only things that are advantageous to do or disadvantageous to do.
They're only things that'll help or harm.
But in terms of having a morality-based life and campaign and agenda, that's not a factor.
So Ayers and his wife are in, they're internationally known.
They're renowned particularly on the left.
They were active in Chicago.
Ayers wrote a book on 9-11.
He was featured on 9-11 in the New York Times.
Obama served with him on a board, attended a number of lectures with him, set up by Michelle Obama.
By the way, where is she?
How come they have her sequestered?
You can answer that question yourselves.
I mean, Ayers was an opinion leader in his district, and he sponsored the first fundraiser for Obama way back.
But we are supposed to believe that Obama knew nothing of this guy.
And interestingly, his campaign manager, Axelrod, says there's no evidence that he knew Ayers was a terrorist.
Well, Sarah Palin didn't know he had.
It doesn't matter.
If he did know that Ayers was a terrorist, there's no evidence that Obama would have cared that he was a terrorist.
And that, my friends, is the way of looking at it.
As Joe Biden would say, let me say again, let me say again, there is no evidence that Obama would have cared that he was a terrorist.
I'm seeing no evidence of a conscience in Obama.
All I see is naked, raw ambition.
Sarah Palin nailed Obama and Ayers this morning.
She was at a rally in Jacksonville, Florida.
We have the audio coming up.
And essentially, she said, she said, well, I guess Obama will now claim he was unaware that Mahmoud Ahmadinezad had a radical background too after he promised to meet him without preconditions.
Polling data is out today.
Before I get to the polling data, we all talked last week, and everybody's a little up-in-arms about this, that all these early voters in Ohio.
And we've got stories of the homeless being bussed in and soup line people being bussed in to register and vote on the same day.
But a story here, this is so, what is this from?
This is, it's a trend news.
I think it's actually New Zealand or Austin.
Maybe it's the Philippines.
I'm not sure which.
A week-long period in which Ohio residents could register to vote and immediately cast a ballot has ended with turnout that didn't quite match the expectations of election officials or the campaign predictions that preceded it, according to the AP.
As of Monday evening, with polling sites still open, projections are that about 4,000 voters in the state's four largest counties would have taken advantage of the policy, would survive multiple court challenges, but they expected between 20 and 25,000 people to have voted early in the four counties in Ohio beginning on September 30th.
Again, it's an AP story, APO, Associated Press Obama.
We have a new name for it, APO, Associated Press Obama.
And so they could be just sandbagging everybody here by lying about the low turnout so that when the election returns are counted in Ohio, that people do not suspect fraud.
The Zogby poll is out, and this, ladies and gentlemen, key, Obama 48, McCain 45, likely voters, three-day telephone track.
It's actually 2.4.
It's actually 2.4.
It's not actually 3.
They've rounded things up.
Obama's at 47.7, McCain at 45.3.
So that gets rounded up to 48.45.
It's actually a 2.4% advantage, which is in the margin of error.
CBS.
And by the way, Zogby was the only one to get it right last time in 2004.
Zogby nailed it.
We keep a sharp eye on Zogby.
All these polls want to get it right in the end.
They will use polling data to influence public opinion up until the end.
But at the end, they want to be able to say that they got it right for the accuracy and the credibility of their operation.
CBS, in a sign that the race for president has returned to about where it was before the first presidential debate, the Obama-Biden ticket leads the McCain-Palin ticket 4743 among registered voters.
The Obama-Biden ticket led by a wider margin, nine points, last Wednesday before the vice presidential debate.
CBS, assuming here that there might have been some movement in the presidential race because of the vice presidential debate, 70 million people watched it.
The drive-bys in the Obama campaign try to tell us that the reason people watched the debate is because they were so excited to see plugs Biden.
Well, we all know, ladies and gentlemen, that Sarah Palin was the drawing card for that debate, and it worked.
Here's the second McCain soundbite yesterday from New Mexico tearing in to the anointed one.
Senator Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis.
I guess he believes that if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough, it'll be believed.
But the truth is, I was the one who called at the time for tighter restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
It could have helped prevent this crisis from happening in the first place.
Senator Obama was silent on the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and his Democratic allies in Congress opposed every effort to rein them in.
As recently as September of last year, he said that some pride and loans have been, quote, a good idea.
Well, Senator Obama, that good idea has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
And Obama's fingerprints are all over this plunge with his close associations to ACORN.
Now, Saturday Night Live did a skit.
Did you see this?
No.
They did a skit nailing the Democrats on this, nailing Pelosi, nailing Barney Frank, nailing George Soros.
You can't see it, however.
They took it off their website.
They nailed the couple that started this subprime mortgage business and ended up selling that business to Wachovia for $25 billion, which is what, or $20, it might have been $25 billion, which is what got Wachovia in trouble.
And this couple also funded Air America.
They fund all of these vast far left-wing causes, and Saturday Night Live ripped them to shreds.
And people were stunned and couldn't believe it.
People say, well, Saturday Night Live has now become a news source for life.
It always has been throughout its whole career.
Its history, Saturday Night Live is.
Now, what happened, this thing aired, and the people involved must have called NBC and said, take that down.
That's outrageous.
We don't want that up.
And they scrubbed it.
It is not on the NBC website, but it's all over the blogosphere.
We have the audio for it, and we'll be sharing it with you as the program unfolds before your eyes and ears.
Lots to do, folks.
Great to be back with you.
The phone number again is 800-282-2882.
Oh, one more thing.
Let me close the thought about this humor business and make my cousin Dan saying, I can't wait till the election's over, get back to humor.
And he's got a good point about that.
But these really are intense times.
We are talking about the future of the country, a dramatic change in the future of the country if Obama and Biden win this.
And I know that humor is a fabulous way to be persuasive and so forth.
Sometimes you just get so intense about this because it matters so much that you don't want to give, I don't want to give people the impression that I'm taking it lightly by making fun of it or by making fun of Obama.
I know how effective it is, but it brought home to me just how intense this whole campaign has been because of the stakes that are involved here, and they are profound.
We're talking about a vision of two distinct Americas, an America that is true to our founding, where the traditions and institutions that have defined our greatness are defended, protected, and hopefully empowered and expanded.
The Obama view, peppered with mentorship from Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright and so forth, is to tear down all the institutions and traditions that have defined this country's greatness and rebuild the country in an image that, for lack of a better word, would be socialist.
It's been tried everywhere in the world except here.
And the left worldwide and in this country has great hope, invested in Obama that he can succeed in bringing this country into the fold along with the rest of the socialist leftist world.
Quick timeout.
Back after this as we continue.
Okay, let's go to the Saturday Night Live audio, and I need to set this up.
It's one of the, it's really searing.
It's funny.
It's amazing that this skit made it on the air.
It has vanished from the website of NBC's Saturday Night Live.
It's a seven-minute sketch.
We're going to play the entire thing.
It's a mock news conference among congressional leaders explaining the bailout bill.
Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi explaining, while inadvertently admitting that it was Congress that blocked reform and effective oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
They have two actors that portrayed real life couple, Herbert and Marion Sandler.
And they explain, and this is you'll hear coming up, how these two built a mortgage company which specialized in subprime mortgages that they then sold to Wachovia for $24.2 billion in 2006.
It's one of the worst acquisitions by any company ever.
And it helped precipitate the collapse of Wachovia last week.
So that's the setup.
Where we join them now is Pelosi says, in the past few weeks, this debate has focused on the wisdom of government intervention.
What wasn't talked about is that behind every home foreclosure, there's a story of real suffering by real Americans.
People who, but for the grace of God, could be you or your neighbor.
And today we'd like to introduce you to some of them.
Michael McCune and Jerome Grant, two ordinary Americans whose only crime was to play by the rules and who now find themselves facing eviction from their homes.
Please, you two, tell us your story.
Well, to start, I still don't understand how this happened to me.
I mean, I fit all the requirements for a subprime mortgage.
No credit history.
Same here.
No job.
Me neither.
Minor criminal record.
Did two.
Dishonorable discharge from the army.
Yeah, I got mine right here.
Drug problem.
Me too.
Alcohol problem.
Guilty as charge.
Gambling addiction.
Yeah.
Pregnant girlfriend.
Actually, two pregnant girlfriends.
Just the one.
Well, anyway, I was talked into a balloon mortgage where you move into the house and then you get to live in it and you don't have to like pay money or anything to the bank, but then later you do.
Yeah, what up with that?
I mean, you could say I'm a double victim since I've never had a job and now I don't have a home.
Well, I'm a triple victim because I've also been charged with arson for allegedly setting fire to the house they evicted me from.
You are both in our thoughts.
Thank you.
That was Pelosi.
Now, then she introduces the couple who, and they have a Chiron.
People who should be shot is the Chiron graphic under this section.
This is Herbert and Marion Sandler.
Tell us your story.
My wife and I had a company which aggressively marketed subprime mortgages and then bundled them with securities to sell to banks such as Wachovia.
Today our portfolio is worth almost nothing, though at one point it was worth close to $19 billion.
Oh my God, I am so sorry.
Were you able to sell it for anything?
Yes, for $24 billion.
I see.
So in that sense, you're not, so to speak, actual victim.
That would be Wachovia Bank.
Actually, we've done quite well.
We're very happy.
We were sort of wondering why you asked us to come today.
Anyway, it's delightful to see you, Nancy.
So, and this, this is a real-life couple.
This couple, Herbert and Marion Sandler, they started the company that ended up being sold to Wachovia.
Subprime mortgages, worthless mortgages, $24.2 billion.
The Wachovia CEO wanted to get in on this action, and this is what precipitated Wachovia having their big problems last week, now being fought over by Wells Fargo and Citibank.
Now, this was Saturday Night Live, and it's hilarious.
We've got the link, and we will put a link to it at rushlimbo.com so you can see it as well.
We've cut out the opening of this thing, it's Bush speaking, and he's standing there with Pelosi and Barney Frank, and they go through the motions of blaming it all on Bush, and they portray Bush as an idiot, not even knowing he's being insulted and this sort of thing.
That was typical.
This is not.
And as I say, you can't find this on NBC's Saturday Night Live website because this couple and others have obviously complained to NBC.
I'll play Audio Soundbite 2 again here before going on to Audio Soundbite 3 because I want you to know who the Sandlers are, Herbert and Marion Sandler.
They were major donors to Air America, the left-wing radio network that bombed.
They also are major donors to Acorn, the housing lobby of community organizations to which Obama has close ties.
Its fingerprints are all over this subprime problem.
Acorn, of course, a major player in pressuring the banks into making more subprime mortgages.
The Sandlers also donated $2.5 million to moveon.org, the group that ran the general betrayalist ad in the New York Times.
This is who was parodied and just destroyed on Saturday Night Live.
And I wonder if these are the two people, Herbert and Marion Sandler, that Obama was talking about back in May or July, on July, I'm sorry, July 29th, 2008, when he made a speech before the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials.
He said folks were tricked into buying homes.
I wonder if the Sandlers are the people Obama is saying tricked people into buying homes.
Here is that soundbite again, and it'll be followed by a bite in which they just destroyed George Soros.
My God, I am so sorry.
Were you able to sell it for anything?
Yes, for $24 billion.
I see.
So in that sense, you're not, so to speak, actual victims.
That would be Wachovia Bank.
Actually, we've done quite well.
We're very happy.
We were sort of wondering why you asked us to come today.
Anyway, it's delightful to see you, Nancy.
Herbert and Marion Sandler being parodied by Saturday Night Live and the Nancy Pelosi character here now, Saturday Night Live, making fun of Barney Frank and George Soros.
Let me say something else here.
You know, many of you are probably wondering, where did that $700 billion missing from our economy go?
But to help answer that, let me introduce our good friend, billionaire, head funds manager, George Soros.
So what became of that $700 billion?
Spirit basically belongs to me now.
Actually, it's not even dollars anymore, but Swiss francs, since I have taken a short position against the dollar.
Oh, really?
That's not good.
You're not to speak.
I don't like you.
The U.S. dollar will have to be devalued sometime next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday.
I haven't decided which yet.
It will depend on how I feel.
Thank you very much, Mr. Soros.
You're a great man.
Yes, could I just add that even though you know what's coming, you won't be able to do anything about it.
You're a wise man, Mr. Soros, and a powerful one.
You are better than us.
Your wife is physically attractive.
Sell her to me, please.
Sure.
So they just launched on all the people that have their fingerprints all over this problem.
This was an assault on Democrats and Democrat contributors on Saturday Night Live.
And it's now not available except on select websites in the blogosphere.
And as I say, we are going to link to it at rushlimbaugh.com.
So the Democrats preach for 18 months that the economy is in a depression.
They actually try to destroy the economy with their left-wing policy.
Don't forget this.
You know, people, people are out there saying, Rush, it's very important to tell people about Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright, but it's the economy.
The economy is all people care about right now.
These two things are linked, ladies and gentlemen.
You cannot separate Obama's alliances with socialist leftists and say it has nothing to do with the economy.
Critics are wrong that Ayers has nothing to do with the economy.
Stanley Kurtz made the point, it was on Fox this morning, that Ayers and Obama, that alliance, included the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
They funneled more than $100 million to community organizers, including Acorn, which is very much at the core of this financial mess, pressuring banks to loan to non-creditworthy borrowers.
The story is that the $100 million to the Annenberg Challenge was designed to change the focus of education, but it just didn't work out.
But anyway, Obama's given $100 to $150 million with Bill Ayers to have dramatic changes, and they're playing it down.
I'll tell you what, it's been hilarious to see all these leftists today warning that McCain-Palin attacks are going to hurt McCain.
You've got stories all over the place here.
You know, these attacks that McCain's getting into now on Obama, but then Palin and her attacks, why this is going to hurt him, really?
If it was going to hurt him, you'd be encouraging them, drive-bys, to continue these attacks.
Here's the thing: here's what's going on.
This is, again, is why Ayers and Jeremiah Wright and all these people are important.
The drive-by media has done everything it can to keep Obama in a cocoon.
They've got his wife taped up in a closet somewhere with tape over her mouth.
Biden's off the campaign trail with a sick mother-in-law.
They're taking all the people that are gaff-prone or that hate the country, make it obvious they're just angry and filled with rage, and they're silenced.
We can't find Obama, which is typical of what liberal guys do to their wives.
They shut them up.
When they get too noisy, when they get too vocal, is hide them away someplace and present a picture.
Oh, she's with the kids.
Oh, yeah, she's with the kids who are seven and ten who go to school with Ayers' kids who are 29 and 30.
Right.
Having a little birthday party sometime this afternoon, right?
So this stuff is incredibly important, and more and more people are tuning in and paying attention to these questions as you get closer and closer to the election.
Here's Sarah Palin.
We have her today from she was in Jacksonville, and yesterday morning in Clearwater, Florida, here's her great line on Mahmoud Ahmadinezad bouncing off Obama and his claim.
He didn't know Ayers was a terrorist.
Since he got called out on his plans to meet unconditionally with terror state leaders like Ahmadinejad, will he now claim that he was unaware of his radical background?
I wonder, folks, what the polls would show if Palin were a distinct answer option to the question, who are you voting for?
How many of you in this audience are going to vote for McCain simply because you can vote for Sarah Palin?
How many of you are actually voting for Palin?
How many of you have decided you are not going to sit this out, but you're now energized and you are going to vote because you're either voting against Obama or you're voting for Sarah Palin.
I'll bet if they asked that question, people would be stunned at the answer.
And I'll be honest, I myself, ladies and gentlemen, for the sake of effectiveness, have pondered the notion of portraying, presenting this election as Palin versus Obama, because the contrast is distinct.
She is on fire.
Here she hammers Obama on airs yesterday in Clearwater, Florida.
One of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers.
And according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon in our U.S. Capitol.
And then there's even more to the story.
Barack Obama says that Ayers was just someone in the neighborhood, but that's less than truthful.
His own top advisors said that they were, quote, certainly friendly.
In fact, Obama held one of his first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers' living room.
And they worked together on various projects in Chicago.
And she continued.
These are the same guys who think that patriotism is paying higher taxes.
Remember, that's what Joe Biden had said.
And I am just so fearful that this is not a man who sees America the way that you and I see America as the greatest source for good in this world.
I'm afraid this is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to work with a former domestic terrorist who had targeted his own country.
A man bull's eye.
That's why this is important.
Obama's alliances, not associations, are with people who do not like this country.
They are the ones who have mentored him.
And if you think that that's not relevant to the economy, take a look at what people think the U.S. economy should be.
People like Ayers and Jeremiah Wright.
It should be one of central planning, the government doling out everything to everybody according to its own definition, usually based on fairness.
You know that fairness is one of the liberal foundation building blocks, the reason that they say they're doing everything.
The subprime mortgage crisis, all brought about by fairness, the concept of fairness.
The Democrats thinking it's not fair that poor people who can't afford homes don't have them.
And so they set about long ago to rectify the situation, to put people who have no business owning a home because they can't pay for one, nevertheless being given mortgages that are today worthless.
And then those same people in the interests of fairness, forcing lending institutions to invest in these subprime loans.
And the lending institutions knew they were worthless.
And so they had to start packaging them and selling them around to each other as assets.
So all these financial institutions, to keep the government off their back and trying to turn these worthless assets into something, was backaging them, selling them, hoping that somewhere down the road that the housing bubble would continue, that prices would continue to rise.
And at some point, these mortgages would be worth something somehow, if not mortgages as securities.
None of it happened because the price of housing plummeted.
Well, it wasn't going to work because it was all a fraud to begin with.
It was all impossible.
It was not possible for this to work.
And Obama's fingerprints are all over this, working with Acorn and the people who pressured Congress, who, well, have to pressure the Democrats in Congress, have pressured the lending institutions to make this happen.
And Barney Frank knows what's up to Barney Frank's out there now saying that the attacks on all this are just racism.
Republican racists are now making these attacks.
Barney Frank and the leftists believe it's totally appropriate for people who can't afford homes to live in them, as long as they're paid for by you and me.
It's not fair that you and I have homes and they don't.
And so they're going to see that people have homes.
It's impossible to overestimate the importance of the liberal concept of fairness in being a motivation for what they do.
And of course, who's opposed to fairness?
It's sort of like the environmentalist wackos claim all they're doing is trying to get clean water and clean air and save the planet.
Well, who wants dirty water?
Who wants dirty air?
Who wants a destroyed planet?
Nobody does.
By the same token, they're out there saying it's only fair that the rich pay more taxes.
It's only fair that CEOs only be able to make so much.
It's only fair that some people get thrown in jail for, of course, who's opposed to fairness.
So this is just one of the many tricks that is being used.
But what you have to remember is that their definition of fairness is not yours.
Their definition of fairness is most of the country getting screwed in order for liberals to continue to make more and more Americans dependent on government for their daily existence.
Be right back and continue.
As I say, the Democrats preach for 18 months.
The economy is in a depression.
They actually try to destroy the economy with their left-wing policies.
They have tried to destroy the economy in your mind.
They have been working to create a psychological recession/slash depression for years.
They succeed in driving the economy into a precipitous gulch, and now they blame it on the Republicans.
They tried to lose the war for years, hoping to use that as a political issue.
But we're winning.
So they drop that immediately.
This is why all of this is terribly and crucially important, ladies and gentlemen.
We have an entire political party and left-wing ideological apparatus that's already trying to destroy the country even before they get into power.
Imagine what they will do if they succeed.
For six years, they have tried to make you think your country is not what it should be or can be, and its greatest days are behind us.
And because of that, we need significant change not to rebring or not to revive the greatness of America from what they say is the past.
And we need to rebuild it.
We need to change it because it can't be what it was.
They're already in the process of trying to destroy as much of this country as they can.
Great institutions like our economy and the military.
And of course, when you attack the president the way they have attacked the president all of these years, it has the effect of eroding confidence in all authority everywhere down the line.
And they haven't cared about that.
That's been part of their grand design as well.
They want you having as little faith in your own country as they profess to have.
They are in the process of destroying the country even before they get their hands on it.
Now, Obama, he says that he didn't know his pastor of 20 years was a racist, an anti-Semitic Marxist.
He didn't know that Bill Ayers was a domestic terrorist, and yet Obama wrote a review of a book by Bill Ayers in 1997.
Barack Obama, State Senator, a Kind and Just Parent, The Children of Juvenile Court by William Ayres.
A searing and timely account of the juvenile court system and the courageous individuals who rescue hope from despair.
Chicago Tribune, December 21st, 1997.
Obama reviewed a book by Ayers.
As recently as 2007, Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dorn are easily seen on videotape trashing capitalism, trashing the American way of life.
As recently as last year, and Obama doesn't know this.
He didn't know that Ayers was a domestic terrorist while he's writing books or reviews of Ayers' books.
He didn't know that Tony Rezco was a crook.
Poor Barack Obama, why?
He just didn't know.
As, of course, he doesn't know that his campaign has taken in an estimated $34 million from foreign donors, including from the Middle East.
He doesn't know that ACORN is registering homeless people and others to vote.
He just doesn't know.
Poor guy, look at all the people keeping the truth from him.
But Obama does know that if only the U.S. military had adopted his strategy for Iraq, There would have been peace long ago if only the U.S. military had adopted his military strategy.
The Taliban would already have been defeated in Afghanistan.
If only the president had adopted his massive tax increases, his massive spending increases, massive nationalization of health care, massive redistribution of wealth plans.
Why, if the president had only listened to what Obama claims he does know, the economy, why we'd be chugging along here without a hitch.
You see, folks, there is a pattern here with Obama.
Those things for which he has had no responsibility and no experience and no record, he's got all the answers on those.
Those things for which he actually has a record, actually has hands-on responsibility, like his past alliances and his donors.
Why, he can't be expected to know all those things.
He's too busy knowing what to do in Iraq and Afghanistan with the economy and all that.
He's too busy warning people.
Yeah, he's been warning us for the last two years about subprime.
He's been warning us about how to do things right.
But the things that he touches, he doesn't know anything about.
Says he wants transparency in government, but he won't release his school records, his medical records, his legislative records, any of his records with heirs.
All this matters.
We'll be back.
Well, here we go.
The Dow down about 200 points now.
Can we bail out from the bailout?
Do we have to participate in this?
