Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 24-7 podcast.
This is shaping up to be a day of hell for the Democrats.
We're probably going to have a record Dow Jones industrial average.
We're only seven points away from it now, all time high.
Gasoline is a dollar eighty in Southeast Missouri.
Where I am from.
That's really bad for the Democrats.
A dollar eighty in Southeast Missouri.
New U.S. home sales show surprise acceleration.
Yes, new U.S. home sales.
That story just cleared shows surprise acceleration after a story yesterday that housing prices are plummeting.
Anyway, greetings and welcome, uh ladies and gentlemen, EIB Network, El Rush Bowl, middle of the week already, fastest week in media.
Telephone number 800-282-2882, email address rush at EIB net.com.
On the agenda today, the uh truth about the NIE, National Intelligence estimate.
I told you.
What's amazing that told you yesterday that once this thing was declassified, it's going to blow the Democrats out of the water, but the problem is they're not admitting that.
And they're uh remember the question that was asked of Hamid Karzai yesterday when he gave that great, great, great response.
It was asked by a an info babe named Jennifer.
Like you know what I mean?
Um that's Jennifer Loven of uh of the Associated Press, who has a story today that is just this this woman is is probably one of the largest Democrat activists working undercover as a journalist, and she doesn't even go to any great lengths to hide it.
We'll get into that.
Um we also gonna talk a little bit about uh the George Allen situation today.
This is I know people are upset about it.
But folks, hang tough out there, chill out, and be cool.
It's just it's typical.
It's a campaign season.
I know it's unconscionable, but what isn't about what Democrats do?
What isn't unconscionable?
What's new about this?
All it is is the latest attempt to smear, probably their version of Swift boating the guy.
Guy's been in public life how many years?
Twenty years.
Nobody is ever who knows him thinks anything ill of him.
He's one of the most mild-mannered, nice guys.
All of a sudden now, a guy with a political axe to grind comes up and uh and corrupts a whole bunch of people in his orb to say, yeah, use the well, I got a tape of Robert Byrd using the N-word on Fox News.
I mean, we have the the James Webb's getting a free pass here as everybody examines Allen, but we'll uh we'll talk about that.
But don't, folks, this is not gonna work.
This isn't 20 years ago.
I guarantee you there are people in Virginia who are smoking mad that the drive-by media are not finding to talk to, who are livid about what's being if you if you find it unconscionable as I find it unconscionable, why do you think a lot of Virginians wouldn't find it unconscionable?
You ought to have faith in people out there.
Everybody still gets sucked into this notion that a constant media barrage can totally change public opinion.
Look, the Democrats, this is hell day for them.
How many years have they been trying to talk down the economy?
They have utterly failed.
Unemployment at 4.7%.
Housing starts, unexpected new acceleration.
We're about to set an all-time high at the Dow Jones industrial average.
I mean, they for all of the efforts that the drive-by media put into uh uh destroying public opinion on the economy.
It's it's still nevertheless spin, and it hasn't worked.
If it had worked, you know, what is the economy?
The economy is you and me and everybody engaging in commerce.
And if it had uh if if all the apocalyptic predictions, the doom and gloom and the pessimism had worked, then the economy wouldn't be humming because nobody would have the confidence to go out and engage in commerce.
You know, these guys, I uh I with the reaction to the NIE uh business, and they're still promising to cut and run from a rock.
They don't have a plan uh to protect the United States uh in the war on terror.
They don't ever want to fight anybody.
Is the bottom line.
You go back and look at the history of liberals and democrats, they don't want to fight anybody.
It's never worth it, no matter what is being attacked.
United Well, I mean that's not true.
They um uh they will fight uh Bush and uh their own country uh and and Republicans, but uh outside enemies uh are just totally ignored.
Snerdley, you asked me weeks ago if I thought Terrell Owens would get through this season without an incident.
And when I said, of course not, Terrell Owens is Terrell Owens, you smirked.
You had a smirk on your face.
You tried to tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about, now we've got an incident.
And this is fascinating to have watched this unfold.
It actually started a little bit before eight o'clock last night in Dallas.
Fire and rescue got a phone call, 911 phone call.
They got there in three minutes.
Uh today a police report showed up on the smoking gun.
After the police report showed up, the cops had a press conference to disavow their own report.
Well, we're not gonna confirm or deny anything.
And the cops said, I'm not taking any questions.
This is being treated not as a criminal matter, it is purely a medical matter, medical procedure, and as such, I can't talk about anything because of HIPAA.
Well, the uh the reason that it was classified as a medical matter and not criminal invokes HIPAA.
You know, when you've got a criminal matter going on, there's uh, as we all know, there's diverging opinion on whether somebody's medical privacy counts for anything in a criminal matter.
Uh here in Florida it doesn't.
Uh, but in Texas, they didn't want to go to criminal roots, so they don't have to release any of the medical information.
The cops basically said, I'm not confirming, and I'm not denying anything.
Somebody said, What about the 9-1-1 tape?
Well, that's not us.
You got to call fire and rescue to get the 9-1-1.
Everybody's now looking at the 9-1-1 tape.
Here are the details.
A woman with T.O., it appears it was his agent Kim Etheridge, uh, made a phone call.
T.O. got a prescription for some pain pills on the 18th of September after surgery to repair broken finger.
Between September 18th and yesterday, T.O. had taken five pills.
Supposedly it had an allergic reaction to them prior to last night.
Now, you know, I have a very active mind on this kind of stuff.
And uh what was it uh two years ago, Terrell Owens broke his leg in Philadelphia in a tackle, horse collar tackle by Roy Williams of the Cowboys.
Now, when you have a broken leg and you get surgery, I guarantee you they put you on pain medication.
Now there's no report that he had an adverse reaction to it or an allergic reaction to it then.
He's probably had to take this medium.
You wouldn't believe how rife the NFL is with this stuff, folks.
Uh the the this so this is the first ever report of Terrell Owens having an allergic reaction to pain medication when he's obviously has had it uh before.
Anyway, so the fire and rescue guy is very proud that they got there in three minutes.
And when they got there, uh the bottle of 40 pills, of which five had been taken prior to yesterday, was empty.
After they got there, a witness said that T.O. was trying to cram a couple more pills in his mouth, and either a fire rescue uh person or though a woman in the house was trying to pry those two additional pills out of his mouth.
It was reported in police report that the uh fire rescue people said you're trying to harm yourself.
TO said yes.
Did you take all the pills in this bottle?
Yes, said T.O. Now the uh the spin on this today is that from his agent is well, it had an allergic reaction.
You didn't know what he was saying to these people.
Um so they're the from from the first reports of attempted suicide, it is obvious uh that the powers that be here are trying to spin this uh in another direction, and now the uh the all the focus is on on the 911 tape, which makes me wonder what's gonna happen to that.
Um it be on somebody's desk before they announce a technical failure in the system uh and say they're unable to produce it.
We'll just uh just have to see.
But here's folks, here's the thing about this.
You know, in the um in the uh uh the whole in the NFL, you play hurt.
You play hurt.
You just do.
Uh eight days after an appendectomy, you play.
Uh Phil Sims ruptured spleen on Sunday.
They're talking about he might come back this season.
T.O. suicide attempt, it's okay.
You're living, you're playing.
Uh to big, a big game coming up a week from Sunday in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
T.O.'s triumphant return.
Cowboys, you know, here's the thing.
If this was a suicide attempt, and they don't get the guy some help, then it's a disservice.
If it was a suicide attempt and they try to cover that up and get him secret behind the scenes counseling, that's one thing.
But there's there's obviously uh uh a problem here of some kind, even if it's not an attempted suicide.
I mean, you you know you swallow 35 pills in one night, uh, if you're having an allergic reaction, you don't do that.
Uh you do that for a uh for a reason.
And what happens with these things is the the you know, heroin overdose, opiate overdose, what happens is you stop breathing, it suppresses the respiratory system, and that's that's um that's what leads to the to uh to death, and that's why they were trying to pump the stomach or induce vomiting or or uh or what have you.
At any rate, uh the effort here is gonna have to be made to get the guys some help somehow.
And I'm watching the media on this this morning, and I know I shouldn't think this, but when the cops came out and say, we're not confirming or denying anything, you can see the media, oh come on, we want it to be an attempt at suicide, don't do this to us.
So they continue to talk about it in those terms, trying to explain why the cops might not want to open up and be honest about it, which leads to a lot of other questions.
It's it's all that's academic uh to the fact that there's a genuine problem here, and there are any anybody who's wanted to admit this for a long time, uh, or have seen it for a long time, should have admitted it.
It's been obvious to everybody that something's out of whack here.
And I think part of it is that in this uh in the current sports media culture we've got, the odder and wackier your behavior, the more you make the highlight real, and the more that behavior is thus encouraged, because you want to make the highlight real.
Hank, I gotta change the channel.
I can't, I I've got Madeline Albright up there that's making it horrible picture.
Oh, fag time, back in just a moment.
Hi, welcome back.
Great to have you.
Rush Limbaugh, America's real anchor man.
Truth detector, doctor of democracy all combined, and one harmless lovable, not to be found anywhere else, fuzzball.
Here at 800-282-2882.
All right, now before we get to the NIE stuff and uh George Allen and and I by the way, I have a brilliant point to make on this NIE stuff.
You know how you uh people say that you know, I've been thinking you may not have heard this anywhere else.
Well, I have one of those myself today.
You may not have heard the point I'm gonna make about this NIE thing.
It's a brilliant point.
But in due time, I've got to do this.
I gotta tell you about this.
It's in USA Today, it's a USA Today story, and it is the most incredible attempt to advance the failure of liberal Democrat ideas on social welfare.
Here's the headline.
Fertility gap helps explain political divide.
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, a Catholic mother of five from San Francisco, has fewer children in her district than any other member of Congress.
87,727.
Representative Chris Cannon, Republican Utah, a Mormon father of eight, represents the most children in a congressional district.
278,398.
These two extremes reflect a stark demographic divide between the congressional districts controlled by the major political parties, Republican House members, overwhelmingly.
Overwhelmingly come from districts that have high percentages of married people and lots of children, according to a USA Today analysis of 2005 Census Bureau Info.
GOP Congress members represent 39.2 million children younger than 18, about seven million more than Democrats.
Republicans average 7,000 more children per district.
Now, you do any of you yet listening to this have any idea where this is going?
All right, you tell me, where do you think this is going?
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, Snerdley.
That's not that that is never mentioned in this story.
Hang with me.
Many Democrats represent areas that have many single people and relatively few churin.
Democratic districts that have large numbers of children tend to be predominantly Hispanic or to a lesser extent African American.
Now do you get an idea where this might be headed?
The fertility gap, this fertility gap is crucial to understanding the differences between liberals and conservatives, says Arthur Brooks, a professor of public administration at Syracuse University.
These childbearing patterns shape divisions over issues such as welfare education and child tax credits.
GOP traditional families, both sides are very pro-kids, Brooks says.
They just express it in different ways.
Republicans are congenial to traditional families, which is clearly the best way for kids to grow up.
But there are some kids who don't have that advantage, and Democrats are very concerned with helping those kids.
No, they are not lady.
For one thing, they abort those kids.
This story does not get to the real reason for this so-called fertility gap, and that is that Democrats are aborting their kids.
In far greater numbers than Republicans do.
Besides that, of the kids who survive a Democrat pregnancy, which is a risky pregnancy.
You get pregnant, and you're a Democrat, your child's chances of survival are remarkably less than other people.
Well the fertility gap here to me is is a crucial element in understanding that.
But of the children who survive a Democrat pregnancy.
They have not been helped by Democrats in the last 50 years.
All of these great society programs busted up the families that this story is winging its hands over.
Oh, it's horrible they single family.
Why did that happen?
It's because Democrats came up with programs, feel-good programs, feeling good about ourselves programs.
Look at how we care.
We're good people.
And so they became essentially surrogate fathers.
The government became surrogate father.
The real father had no reason to hang around.
And so you had all these broken families.
In fact, I go so I'll go even further.
I think that Democrats enjoy they need victims.
Let's face it, and this is another problem presented with the fertility gap.
There are fewer and fewer victims.
Why do you think they're so interested in illegal immigrants?
They need victims.
They need poor people.
They need people who have not reached their potential.
They need people who are dependent.
They want to keep as many of these people in a dependent state because they think they'll vote for Democrats in that state.
Children in Democratic districts are far more likely to live in poverty and with single parents than kids in GOP districts.
Okay, well, let's try to figure out why then.
And do what really needs to be done to help these kids.
Let's figure out why instead of...
I mean, the point of this story is absurd, Jose Serrano, Congressman Democrat New York.
227,000 children in his Bronx district, the tenth most in the House.
Only 29% of those 227,000 kids live with married parents.
By contrast, 84% of children live with married parents in Chris Cannon's Central Utah district.
These numbers are amazing.
Cannon says, I see now where Jose's coming from.
What do you mean where Jose's coming from?
Cannon used to have a locker next to Serrano at the congressional gym, considers him a friend.
The needs of kids in his district are just not the same as the needs of children in my district.
So you see where this is said.
Democrats are going to make a claim we need more social programs.
We need more welfare, we need more attention to Democrat districts because the kids in those districts are in such poor circumstances.
The biggest gaps in American politics are religion, race, and marital status, says Democratic Polster and Greenberg.
The story never gets to where I'm sure you thought it was headed, and that is abortion.
The fertility gap focus.
Well, well, alternative lifestyles, too.
Yeah, we have you have to throw that in there.
I mean, that that's that's clearly gonna be a factor too, and why there would be fewer kids per Democrat congressional district.
But this is a, if true, this is a total indictment of Democrat lifestyles, attitudes, politics, and yet it's portrayed as something Republicans are mean spirited and hoarding all the goodies for their kids, and it's not needed.
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do.
Hi, welcome back.
Great to have you.
L. Rushball the Excellence in Broadcasting Network at 800 282-2882.
All right.
As we now know, somebody snookered the New York Times.
Some something happened here because the if you look at what was declassified from the National Intelligence estimate, the exact opposite picture is painted from the one sentence leak given to the New York Times.
Now, I don't know whether somebody snookered the Times, I don't know whether somebody trying to get back at the Times.
Could be somebody leaking to make the Times look bad, knowing what the rest.
But I don't think that's true.
Well, uh, no, no.
Somebody's trying to pull something here.
It it's it's either somebody who has got an animus against the times in the intelligence community, or it's Carl Rove.
Do you know this about the NIE?
Do you know that members of Congress have had the whole thing since April?
Members of Congress, Reed, Pelosi, Durban, Mertha.
They have had this since the beginning or end of April.
And they didn't say a word about it.
Nobody said one word about this when this national intelligence estimate came out.
If you look at past NIEs, they're always on a one hand, X, on the other hand, Y. They are CYA documents.
They present both possibilities.
We could really win big or we could get our butts cooked.
Every one of them does.
They are giant CYA documents.
And uh but it's it's fascinating to me that members of Congress who after the New York Times leaked it, ran around and knew everything in it since April.
Does not the timing of this surprise us then?
Yes, class, it does.
The Times was leaked this by somebody six weeks before the November elections.
Yeah, see, and everybody said TO has left the hospital.
Uh Elvis has left the building.
TO left the hospital with thumbs up.
Uh so probably headed to practice.
Who the hell knows?
Doesn't matter.
We'll find out later what went on here.
The bottom line is this with the NIE.
If you look at a document, if you look at the whole thing, nothing in it.
Whatever was declassified, nothing in it in any way argues along the Pelosi and Mirtha and Reed and Howard Dean demand to cut and run from a rock.
Here, if if you look at the first sentence and then the last sentence, the th the middle sentence is what was leaked.
Uh the there's a key paragraph here.
Uh and the here's here's the uh here's what was leaked.
The Iraq conflict has become the cause celebre for jihadists, breeding a deep resentment of U.S. involvement in the Muslim world, cultivating supporters for the global jihadist movement.
However, the sentences before and after support the administration's policy.
Uh here's the whole thing.
The NIE report.
We assess That the Iraq jihad is shaping a new generation of terrorist leaders and operatives.
Perceived jihadist success there would inspire more fighters to continue the struggle elsewhere.
Well, that's what everybody knows.
If these guys win there, it's gonna be bad news.
The NIE report then says the Iraq conflict has become the cause celeb for jihadists, breeding a deep resentment of U.S. involvement in the Muslim world and cultivating supporters for the global jihadist movement.
That even makes sense.
The Iraq conflict has become the cause celeb.
Nobody's denying that either.
But then here's the next sentence.
Should jihadists leaving Iraq perceive themselves and be perceived to have failed, we judge fewer fighters will be inspired to carry on the fight.
Meaning if we win over there, they will be dispirited, and they will not meet recruitment goals and objectives and then not be all that inspirational.
And yet that is the policy of the Democrats cut and run and cause that very thing to happen.
I knew this was going to happen yesterday.
Now the Democrats today are trying to say, well, well, well, we're not impressed.
We're going to see the whole thing now.
You have.
This is the big thing.
You have seen the whole thing.
Democrats on the Intelligence Committee have seen the whole thing.
But now you've got Reed.
Here, look, we got a montage.
We had Dingy Harry, Hillary Carl Levin whining and moaning the entire national intelligence estimate was not released.
Listen to this.
We call for all of it.
We Democrats.
You can't release it piecemeal.
It's another attempt by this.
Stop the tape.
Cue that back to the top.
What do you mean can't release it piecemeal?
That's exactly what the New York Times did, and you jumped all over it like it was Fitzmas.
Fitzmas morning, all rolled into one.
Don't give me this dingy Harry.
It can't be done piecemeal.
You guys got bit by the snake again.
Here it is from the top.
We call for all of it.
We Democrats.
You can't release it piecemeal.
It's another attempt by this administration to hide the truth from the American people.
Stop the tape.
Another attempt by the administration to hide the truth from the American people.
The administration declassified the relevant parts.
You want to give away the whole thing so terrorists know.
By the way, a lot is made of this NIE.
And it's, you know, it as I say, it's it's every one of these documents has an either or certain scenario.
On one hand, X, on the other hand, why?
All right, who's next on this?
Um, yes.
Uh the vibrant and uh most intelligent uh woman in the world, Hillary Clinton.
May not have a plan to complete successfully the mission in Iraq, but they do have a plan to win elections here at home.
The stakes are too high to let them take such a low road.
Make me laugh.
Keep it going.
Obvious that we should see the entire estimate, not just the portions, uh, the findings so-called, which are just limited, but we also should see everything in that report declassified.
Stop which relationship.
Uh Senator Levin speaking out.
Senator Levin, why wasn't this the Democrat reaction after the New York Times leak of one sentence from a paragraph?
One sentence from the whole report.
Where were you Democrats saying, hey, this isn't enough?
We need to see the whole thing.
Only now when the whole thing's released, or at least three and a half pages of it, and your whole platform has been snatched down from under you.
Do you start caterwalling like a spoiled bunch of kids?
Hang out.
Some Democrats have, Senator.
That's what we know.
Some members of Congress have seen the whole thing dating back to April, and I could I presuming here that if there's anything in it, anything else in it that devastates the administration to your liking, it will show up in the New York Times at some point, because we're only six weeks away from the election.
Here's the latest of the last of his bills.
And when the American public does see it, uh, there's gonna be uh further important and compelling evidence uh that we have got to change course in Iraq.
No, there's not.
We just read the f no, there's not.
It's just the opposite.
The NIE makes the opposite claim.
If we get out of there, we are cooked.
Somalia All over again.
Mogadishu.
Let's go on to Senator Durbin.
He was on Anderson Cooper 360 last night.
He basically says here, who cares what the NIE says about cutting and running out of Iraq?
We're going to do it anyway.
Question from Anderson Cooper.
The estimate does say, though, that if you beat jihadists in Iraq, you demoralize them, and if you allow them to win and they go elsewhere, they're going to continue jihad elsewhere and spread this further.
Republicans are now pointing to that and saying you can't pull out.
You can't withdraw.
You can't redeploy as Democrats want, and that the NIE proves that.
But you have to ask yourself, what is the next step?
Does that mean we stay indefinitely?
We had uh Marine Colonel yesterday, a retired colonel, who said we're going to be there another 10 years plus.
I think the question we're asking is what does it take to get the Iraqis to stand up and fight and defend their own country?
We've had very, very poor luck so far in training police and army to replace American soldiers.
And here we go, but once again, who is it that's training those people?
Us, our guys.
So here we go, attacking our men and women in uniform in Iraq as incompetent, unable to get the job done, Rumsfeld's not teaching them properly, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
This fascination with cutting and running, this fascination with getting out of there.
Uh, is typical of Democrats and liberals.
Cut and run.
Get out.
Somalia.
Rwanda never go.
Uh, any number places, cut and run.
93 World Trade Center bombing, pretend it didn't even happen.
Nope.
Local law enforcement problem, eh, President Clinton?
Here's more Durban.
Uh, Cooper says, No, why the White House is also saying, look, terrorists have hated us for years.
If it wasn't in Iraq, it'd be somewhere else.
I guess you can make that argument, but the intelligence estimates told us that as of 9 11 there were 20,000 members of Al Qaeda worldwide.
Now there are 50,000.
The trend line's going in the wrong direction.
We have to be tough.
I agree.
This is a dangerous world, and there are people who want to kill us.
But we have to be smart in our policies.
We have to have a strategy that really starts winning this uh worldwide struggle so that America's a leader and accepted around the world.
Fine, why don't you tell us what strategy is?
Just one Democrat.
Just one Senator Turbot.
Cut and run.
What?
Be small.
Oh, be smart.
Yeah, Kerry tried that in the two.
I forgot.
Yeah, be we got to do it smarter.
We gotta be smarter.
We've got to rebuild American prestige.
That's what we got to do.
I guess the purpose of that is to have other people come in and do the heavy lifting while we Democrats go have coffee and crumpets at the U.N. Uh just one Democrat, Mr. Durbin.
Just one.
Just what tell us what to do.
Tell us what you are gonna do.
Give us the definition of these smart new policies that you've got.
What are we gonna do?
Well, I know.
See, that's the that's that's the uh thing.
The Democrats are actually saying to us, nope, we're not gonna tell you until you elect us.
Our strategy is so brilliant.
Our plan is so unassailable that if we give it away now, the Republicans will steal it and screw us in the elections.
We can't tell you our plan until after the election, when we go in there and actually see how really bad it is and how much Bush has been lying to us.
Now let me ask you a question here before we go to the break.
Do you remember when uh weapons of mass destruction were ostensibly not found in Iraq?
And even a little bit prior to that.
Democrats and the drive-by media attempted to secure in the minds of the American public that the Bush administration cherry picked intelligence.
They ignored what didn't look good.
They accepted only what they wanted.
The bad intelligence that said this couldn't be done or that wasn't possible, or that stuff's not there, was ignored.
Furthermore, we were told that Dick Cheney called him up over there at the CIA and said, Look, you guys, we're going into a rock, come hell or high water.
You better massage that intelligence, and you better make it sure that's what we want.
We instruct you.
I mean, that that was the charge.
Remember all of this cherry-picked and massaged the intelligence.
Well, what happened here with the New York Times, the drive-by media, the Democrats in the leakers.
They've had the whole damn report since April.
They pulled one sentence of One paragraph out of it.
They cherry picked wartime intelligence.
They hyped wartime intelligence.
They massaged it.
They ignored what didn't look good for them.
They only focused on one sentence that they thought could make their case.
And they misled the public about wartime intelligence.
All for a cheap personal attack.
Once again, the door got slammed right in against their noses.
They're bleeding today.
Once again, those things they accuse their opposition of doing, they actually did.
If there was any cherry picking of intelligence, if there was any massaging of wartime intelligence, if there was any hyping of it beyond, in fact, if there was any lying about it, forget hyping.
If there was any lying about it, misleading the public.
The New York Times.
And willing accomplices in the Democratic Party ride to the rescue.
Caught, stripped, bare naked in the attempt.
That newsflash, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens has left the hospital.
He's either halfway home or halfway to Valley Ranch.
The practice facility.
When he's three quarters of the way there, we'll get a bulletin on MSNBC, and I will pass it along.
When he's uh four fifths of the way there, we'll get another bullet.
And when he arrives somewhere, uh, we'll pass it on to you as well.
Now.
Hey, folks, there's something.
You know when this NIE story leaked or ran.
It ran on Sunday, New York Times.
Sunday was also the day that Clinton went on and blew up and uh imploded with Chris Wallace on the Fox News channel, started lying through his teeth.
And by the way, Washington Post start three days after the fact now, starting to look into some of the lies Clinton told.
Not many, not nearly all of them, but a couple of them.
Three days after the fact.
Nevertheless, you know what I think?
This is not hope.
That's what I think.
I think before it's all said and done this campaign season, Democrats are going to get sick and tired of having their very existence be based around the Clintons.
Clinton and this whole Fox News thing has totally taken the focus off the Democrats' attacks on Bush.
That's why they're not letting go of this NIE thing.
Privately, behind closed doors, people are people.
Human nature's human nature.
And I'm telling you, behind closed doors, there is building resentment for this guy who is not president anymore, and his wife is not president yet, and she's got a shoe in re-election campaign in the Senate.
And so they're on the back page.
But the fact that they keep trying to muscle into the front of everything going on in the Democratic Party is uh is gotta be irritating to these guys because the more it happens in the Democrats' minds, the less opportunity they have to make whatever idiotic case they're gonna make to win back the House and the Senate.
I don't know that we'll ever see any of this.
I mean, I've uh it's not blow up in public, but uh, you know, Democrats like to live.
Well, some of them do.
Working on a t-shirt idea, I survived a Democrat pregnancy.
We're just thinking about it.
We haven't moved into production yet.
By the way, this NIE thing.
Now that we've got the declassification of a number of pages, you know what else is out there today?
On a day when much of the Capitol's attention was focused on leaked excerpts of an intelligence estimate, the military quietly released an intercepted letter from Al Qaeda complaining that the terrorist organization was losing ground in Iraq.
I have the whole letter.
It was translated by uh the combating terrorism unit at West Point.
The letter found in the headquarters of Abu Mousab al-Zerkawi after he was killed on June the 7th, was sent to Zarkawe by a senior Al-Qaeda leader who signs his name simply Atiyah.
He complains that Al Qaeda is weak both in Afghanistan, Pakistan border regions, and in Iraq.
Know that we, like all the Mujahideen, are still weak, he wrote in the letter dated December 11th, 2005.
We are in the stage of weakness in a state of paucity.
We have not yet reached a level of stability.
We have no alternative but to not squander any element of the foundations of strength or any help or supporter.
That assessment from Al Qaeda is in stark contrast to the key findings in an NIE assessment released to the public by the president, which says these guys are stronger than ever and getting stronger.
We're building them up all the world.
Their own documents, judged to be authentic, by the way, and confirming previous Sarkawi letters, state just the obvious.
They also say uh that they're having communications problem back to the cave with Zawahiri and Bin Laden.
