The Rudy Giuliani Show: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
Rudy Giuliani dissects President Trump’s anticipated State of the Union (Feb 24, 2026), comparing his "America at 250" framing to past administrations while touting economic gains—inflation down to 2.5% from 9%, border crossings plummeting from 3.5 million, and historic crime drops. He slams Democratic boycotts (72 members absent), criticizes Ilhan Omar’s financial disclosures and anti-Trump rhetoric, and warns of potential criminal alien guests. The speech may spotlight the Save America Act and voter ID laws, while Iran tensions loom, with Giuliani dismissing Pentagon warnings about war risks and introducing Iranian dissident Tara Grammy. Ultimately, the episode frames Trump’s address as a bold defense of prosperity, security, and conservative values against perceived Democratic obstruction. [Automatically generated summary]
This is the Rudy Giuliani show, and it is on Lindel TV.
And behind us, of course, is the capital of the United States of America, where tonight we have the tradition of, well, the tradition really constitutionally is the president annually, after one full year in office, having to report to the Congress on the state of the nation.
That was done in writing by the first and arguably the greatest president, George Washington.
And it was, and we will, I used to know who the first president who did this was, but we'll find out and we'll let you know so we're not just guessing.
But this is a this is not a constitutional practice with regard to a speech.
What is required is a report.
So if the president wanted to return to the prior days, he could write out a report and he could send it to Congress and then Nancy Pelosi could tear it up.
And then she would not let it get to Congress.
And then if I were the United States Attorney or Attorney, I would prosecute her for obstruction.
But, you know, you know, I'm a tough guy.
So this will be, and I'm hoping someone here is looking up who did the first one, or otherwise I will, and interrupt my show.
Sort of a signal.
Who the first president to do an address?
And was it in the 19th century or the 20th?
I'm going to say it was in the 19th.
Let's see.
George Washington.
No, he sent it.
I've already answered that one, Ted.
You're doing as bad as the people you interview now.
I already said that.
George Washington wrote a note.
And to give you a hint, so did Jefferson.
And Jefferson was not a great speaker, by the way.
Great writer.
Maybe the best.
Who?
George Washington on January 16th, 1790.
He gave a speech?
Yep.
He didn't give a report?
No, it says he gave a speech.
We'll have to check that.
I thought it came much, much later.
Place at Federal Hall in New York City.
In 1790, and then the first written address was Thomas Jefferson.
So they did speeches first?
Yes.
And then they reverted.
And then who did the first modern one?
The first television.
Well, the first radio broadcast.
First modern one, where he went up to Congress and It's a good question.
We'll continue looking at.
Well, you keep looking.
But the address tonight will be, I don't know if this is somebody's suggested title or the title.
America at 250, strong, prosperous, and respected.
That would be a good title.
this is suggested by meredith mcgraw i think now is this um is this i'll read you what it says and you interpret it The official theme of the speech, according to White House officials familiar with the draft, is, yes, this is the draft title.
America at 250, prosperous and respected.
So this will be a Donald Trump Trump administration version of Morning in America.
Different issues, different time, different time.
This comes about, this interruption comes about because I am wired for sound.
An unknown caller.
Who could that be?
Wow.
Who knows?
Maybe it's the president and he's asking me to go lead the effort in Iran.
I'd love to.
After it reverted to a written report because of Thomas Jefferson, it went back to a speech Woodrow Wilson.
So that was 100 years.
That was over 100 years.
So that's right.
Woodrow Wilson is the first modern president to give a address in the form that we know it to the both houses of Congress.
And which would not stop a president from sending a letter sometimes.
Oh, well.
So today, tonight, of course, everyone is guessing what will it be, what will it be, what will it be.
And right now, the time is 7.05.
The speech is in less than two hours.
I would say the main reporters have an outline of the speech.
They usually put it out.
I would say they also may have the text of it so that they can follow it and they can write their stories before the president finishes.
But they better not release them before, or they will never get a story again.
So this is given to them on, this is given to certain White House reporters who are going to be tasked by their newspapers, even the ones the president hates.
It shows you how the president's really not that bad a guy.
He gives the same one to the New York Post that largely favors him as he gives to the New York Daily News that largely attacks him.
And one reporter from each of those newspapers or news services or major networks or major cable stations probably has presidents have differed.
Some give an outline.
Some give the text with an outline as long as there is a promise to.
The title that I gave you, America at 250, Strong, Prosperous, and Respected, is merely a link of the title, which obviously tells you that I assume the State of the Union will follow last year's model.
It's going to be longer.
Last year was an hour and Do we know exactly, Ted, what it was, an hour and?
I thought 25 minutes.
I thought about that.
This is what, which?
The last last year, State of the Union.
No, no, the last, let's actually be technical.
Dr. Maria is so good.
She's got this right on target.
He's not given a State of the Union speech yet, except that thing he gave last year looked just like one, right?
It's over 90 minutes.
That was 90 minutes.
That thing that was not a State of the Union speech was 90 minutes.
So that will not go, believe it or not, I mean, they're very technical about this.
And Dr. Maria is quite right.
It looked like a State of the Union speech.
It smelled like a State of the Union speech.
Many people call it a State of the Union speech, but it wasn't because the president doesn't have to report on the State of the Union when he first comes into office.
He gets a year to do that.
But every president that I've known gives one in March, usually a little later than this, a teeny bit later than this.
And it had all the trappings of a State of the Union speech, and it was one hour and a half, correct?
Correct.
One hour and a half.
He says this will be longer.
Now, let's play lawyer.
Is he saying it'll be longer than his last technical State of the Union speech, which was in 2000?
Or will it be longer than the address that he gave a year ago that looked, sounded, felt, and smelled like a State of the Union speech, but was not, which was an hour and a half.
In that case, we're going to an hour 45.
That's where I think we're going.
Okay.
So it will begin with his recitation of what he has accomplished.
My advice, which I've given over some time now, is make it relevant.
In other words, charts are great.
Charts are wonderful.
There's nobody that loves charts more than me, but they begin the thing.
Inflation Down, Affordability Up?00:06:42
It's relating it to people.
It's like showing them that inflation is down.
Oh, that's good.
But there may be some things they paid more for.
So now you're going to have to show them that there are a lot of things they paid less for.
And the overall is that, yeah, they got screwed on a couple of things, but they got helped on a lot of things.
Like, I filled an old car and a new car in the last three days.
The prices are ridiculous.
Well, I had gotten used to going into gas stations, taking out a mortgage.
Like, okay, I'll give you a mortgage on my house so I can pay for the gas.
Now I go in there and sometimes I get out of there for less than McDonald's.
So there's a big difference in the price of gasoline.
Now, some of the coffee still, I think, is up.
I should know that because I sell the best coffee in the world, Rudy's coffee.
But it's still up and it's not up just because of inflation.
It's up also because of shortages in beans, which affect all the coffee makers because the shortage, by the way, in fact, it affects us the most because we're high-quality coffee makers, because the shortage, if I'm not mistaken, is largely the Arabica beans, the better beans.
The two kinds of beans, Robusto and Rabaca.
Arabica makes the high-quality coffee.
Robusto makes the stuff that really is usually put in a gasoline tank or sometimes your local place that you get coffee or your cheap employer who buys that kind of coffee.
Tell your employer, be nice, get Rudy Bold, Rudy Morning.
You're going to have very happy employees and extraordinarily energetic and much healthier.
But overall, inflation is, well, it's down overall by a small amount, but still down.
First time it's been down in a long, long time.
Down to a lower number than it's been out in about three or four years.
And in some areas, it's dramatically down, like gasoline, which is a critical one because it affects everyone, as most inflation prices.
It affects everyone twice, doesn't it?
It affects you because you've got to pay for it if you travel by car.
Most people do.
And then you have to pay for it in the price of what you buy because everybody who is selling you things has the price of gasoline in it, right?
The eggs were driven to the market, right?
The beef came from Chicago, maybe driven, maybe by rail.
So the president's going to have to, the word they've been using is affordability.
They used affordability because inflation is so tied to Biden that you can't get away from Democrats when you think inflation.
The two most dramatic, devastating inflationary periods in America came under two of the worst presidents of the United States.
Jimmy Iran hostages Carter, who had the lines where people were lined up trying to get people died because they didn't have gasoline.
And then the 9% inflation under Biden, which is the highest modern inflation.
So where's inflation today, just so we compare when Biden was killing us and where Trump now is saving us?
It's less than 2.5%, approaching the magic 2%, which is not a magic 2%, but the Fed thought it was.
There's nothing magic about 2%.
It's a low rate of inflation.
One could say if it got lower than that, it would show a very weak economy because an economy, economy has to grow.
The trick is people's earning power has to grow as much or more than.
It's when one gets out of kilter with the other, which we were very out of kilter with.
So I think he will spend a long time, not so much explaining that, but I think trying to make it relevant to you, because the president is very good at that.
That's one of his great strengths.
He has an ability to take complex subjects and make them relevant to your way of life.
And someone today in criticizing him in a friendly way said so much has happened and so many positive changes have taken place so quickly, you almost can't remember them all.
Some of these things would take a year for another president to do.
Some of these things other presidents couldn't do.
And some presidents did nothing like the last one.
Never had a press conference, never did anything, never accomplished anything, just presided over people dying.
So things happen so quickly here, all of a sudden, all of a sudden uh, we've got nobody coming over the border after we had 3.5 million.
All of a sudden our, our murder rate is down to the lowest ever.
It's down to the lowest ever, have ever ever ever, ever.
You know what ever is ever, ever?
It got to take when I got crime down.
It took it.
People got educated about it.
It took over like a year, a year and a half.
It kept going down.
It kept going down.
Then there'd be a terrible crime and people wouldn't believe it.
They say, oh, Giuliani and Bratton are screwing around with those numbers.
There was just a killing in Brooklyn.
Well, of course there was a killing in Brooklyn, God forbid, because you're not going to get rid of killing completely.
You just bring it down.
That took place over a year and a half.
Republican Congress Members Anticipate Hearing00:15:03
Well, less than a year and a half now.
He goes into, he goes into, he goes into D.C., the District of Columbia, within a week.
District Columbia is safe.
And there are exceptions, and they are generally in Democrat areas with left-wing anti-American Democrats running it who obstruct the federal law enforcement, if not the local police.
And their crime is not down the same.
But overall, crime is down all over the United States of America.
Well, we have with us because shortly, 45 minutes or less, the president of the United States will be showing up there.
Oh, no, no.
An hour and 45 minutes or less.
We have Allison, who is our congressional correspondent.
And this is a big night for you.
And you look appropriately attired, my dear.
You look lovely.
Well, thank you.
Thank you very much.
We are here.
We're ready to hear from the president tonight.
And it is very energized here in the Capitol today.
In fact, the rotunda behind me where we normally are so packed, we had to move beyond it in this little alcove here.
So packed house tonight.
But yes, it's been a really great day.
I've had the opportunity to sit down with a number of Republican members of Congress who are very excited to hear from the president, really touch on what they anticipate hearing from him tonight.
And I think we're going to hear about a lot of the wins that he has delivered us in a very short amount of time, if we're being honest.
Actually, this morning, we went to a roundtable that the Republican Study Committee hosted to bring in actual real American citizens who have benefited from Republican policies, who've benefited from the One Big Beautiful Bill, who've benefited from the largest working families tax cuts in American history.
So it's been really great to hear from so many people who are really speaking so fondly and so highly of the administration and all of the amazing work that they've done to make America affordable again.
As we know, that's going to be a huge topic today, one that the Democrats love to harp on.
And it's so funny to me, Mr. Mayor, that they think they have the solutions to the inflation crisis that Biden created.
They want to repackage their ideas into some new shiny object.
And we know that they are just pushing the same failed policies time and time again.
So I think the American people see right through it.
I think they know that the Republicans are the ones with the real answers as far as affordability is concerned.
And we're seeing that play out right here, right now, as we are in tax season.
So that's definitely something that I think we're going to hear a lot about tonight.
And we know, too, Democrats are going to largely oppose the efforts from the president as well.
We're hearing.
I actually just saw right before coming on with you that it's now up to 72 members of Congress from the party of unity, right?
That are not going to be attending.
So it's certainly going to be an eventful evening.
They're not going to be attending this speech.
This is their, they invite him to this speech.
This is like being invited to somebody's home and they say, well, come on in and have dinner on your own.
I mean, they really are.
That's a great point.
I'm sorry.
This is a Democrat Party of clowns.
And if you're a Democrat, and I feel I can say this, I once was one.
I mean, if I was still a Democrat, I would be ashamed.
I would tell people, I would deny it.
You know, people would say, Are you a Democrat?
Like St. Peter, I guess, you know, are you a Democrat?
I would say, no, I'm not for that group that wants non-citizens to vote.
No, no, no.
I'm not for that citizens that want rapists brought back to the United States.
No, no, no.
Or that used to be in favor of slavery.
That's right.
I know.
But they have no shame.
They have no shame at all.
And they are just proudly walking through the halls of Congress carrying on with their ridiculous narratives.
When, to your point, yes, they are the ones defending criminals.
They're the ones defending drug traffickers, human traffickers, and all the rest.
I mean, we heard from angel families today.
There was a great presser today, you know, highlighting so-called angel family.
Did you hear that woman?
Oh, there's a who was that?
We're going to have her on later.
She referred to, she referred to the angel, a journalist on CNN referred to the president will have so-called angel families there.
Oh, so he's watch.
We'll have her on later.
Maybe you can interview her.
Right.
We have that clip ready on Angel Mom.
Do you have a name?
Oh, I think what we're actually getting a little preview of kind of the theme of his address later today at the White House when he hosts the so-called angel moms.
And so, really focusing on immigration as he kicks off his big State of Union week.
You see, I can back up what I say.
I love that you had that queued up and ready to go.
Excellent work there.
I would love to hear what the actual angel families have to say about that.
What a slap in the face to the families who have endured the wrath of the Biden regime, allowing these criminal illegals into our nation and now have dead children as a result of it.
That is sickening, truly.
It is, Allison.
You know, during the last campaign, I dealt with some of them.
And of course, in the course of my career as a prosecutor and mayor, I've met many, many families who've lost their loved ones to crime.
And it's a it's a doesn't matter who it is, it's a tragedy.
And she's sort of suggesting that Trump is making up that these people really lost their children.
It's all documented.
But it's very, very sad.
What do the Republican members, to the extent they do, what do they tell you they think the president has to do tonight?
Well, I think the affordability topic is going to be a huge one.
I think we have to highlight the wins, especially as we go into midterms here.
I feel like, you know, there's a little bit of voter fatigue amongst the Republican base at this point in time.
A lot of people feel like not enough has happened.
Today, I've spent a lot of time talking with Republican members of Congress who have really done a great job at highlighting what has been accomplished in really an incredible amount of time.
I don't think people give President Trump enough credit for all that he has done in the time that he has been in office.
He's really had to undo this massive, just astronomical disaster that he inherited from Joe Biden.
So, that takes work.
And I think Republicans are actively working together to accomplish the America First MAGA agenda.
But there are still things that need to be done.
Namely, passing the Save America Act would be critical, I would think, ahead of the midterms here.
And we've heard a number of members of Congress really putting the pressure on today, putting the pressure on the Senate.
And hopefully, we hear from President Trump on the Save America Act today as well.
I know that's a big topic that many members of Congress said that they would like to hear from him on.
So we'll see what happens.
We'll see what he talks about.
Of course, I'm sure foreign policy will be discussed.
I'm sure the border will be discussed.
So there's not much to talk about there because it's closed down here.
Now it's more so a matter of ridding the nation of the criminal aliens that were allowed in and taking care of that and tamping down on the criminal activity and all the fraud and waste and abuse that's happening within our nation now.
So there's a lot to talk about.
I'm sure it'll be more than we can a lot in this time.
And I know you were talking about the length of the speech at the beginning of the show, but we are actually hearing here within the halls of Congress that it's only going to be an hour, surprisingly.
It was changed from maybe, maybe.
Yesterday he said it was going to be, they asked him about it and he said it's going to be longer than last time.
So we didn't, but we didn't know if last time meant last year, which technically wasn't a State of the Union speech or last time.
And so he may have been full.
So every all day today, they were all saying, oh my gosh, it's going to be two hours.
And I had a feeling he was.
He was trying to make the Democrats sweat because he knows they don't want to sit through two hours of him talking.
Well, what are you going to be looking for particularly?
One thing you're going to look for?
Well, I will be looking for the Democrats.
I'm going to see what kind of stunts they're pulling.
We did see that DHS actually posted this deeply concerning a message they put out on X.
We can pull that up.
The Department of Homeland Security said today some Democrats in Congress are planning on bringing illegal aliens as guests to the state of the union.
Once again, they are putting illegal aliens above the safety of American citizens.
So how sickening is it that Democrats, quite literally, are bringing criminal aliens into the state of the union to celebrate them over the American people who are literally being killed, like the Angel families, being killed and burdened by these horrible people who were let in under Biden.
It's despicable.
I also had the opportunity earlier today, Mr. Mayor, to have another chat with our favorite Representative Ilhan Omar, who held a press conference this morning, just, of course, doing the usual, talking about everything wrong that President Trump has done, talking about how, you know, negatively his policies have impacted the people of Minnesota, how ICE is destroying their community.
And I had some more questions for her, and we had a pretty good little exchange.
Let's take a listen to this.
Hi, Congressman Lamar.
You were just talking about how Trump's economy has failed, the American people, but I think the American people really want to know how you went from a negative $65,000 before coming into Congress to over $30 million in just seven years.
My disclosure is public.
Yeah, it is.
And so a lot of people now are looking into that and finding S-Crew winery, a winery that doesn't actually seem to exist.
Not a real winery?
Or do you all actually look at and read things or do you just ask silly questions?
Well, it's listed in the financial disclosure, so can you explain it?
Because we have a lot of questions about it and things just aren't adding up.
There's no real phone number.
There's no real location.
Why did you want to bite someone probably not from you, to be honest recently stated that the American people should be afraid of the white man.
They should be fearful of the white man.
They never said that.
Yeah, you're on video saying that our country should be more fearful um of of of white men across our country because they are actually, um causing uh, most of the deaths within this country.
Yes, you again.
This is like what I said.
You need to prepare yourself because you can't continue embarrassing yourself like this.
So i'm just a liar, you're.
What I was quoting was an actual study done by the FBI.
Okay, thank you next time.
All right, thank you wow uh, blatant liar.
And also uh, can't answer a single question yet again.
I mean, she's literally called out for her financial um disclosure that is public and then she can't answer a single question.
I think she's forgetting who she works for, and it's we, the people, and she is one that I would be willing to bet is going to be bringing one of those illegal aliens that DHS warned us about tonight as one of her guests.
So i'll be definitely looking out to see what happens with her tonight.
Let me know.
If you see Tom Homan around with handcuffs, they should be ready to go.
I yes, I will be sure to alert him if I see him.
All right, thank you very much, and enjoy it.
It's gonna be interesting.
Thank you, mr mayor.
President will make it exciting and the president will make it relevant, and this is a great opportunity for the president to explain a couple of things that are a dead positive home runs for him.
For example, id for, for for citizens uh, when they vote, which is pretty close to unanimous about as unanimous as you can get in the United States about 90 plus Republicans, 80 plus Democrats, 70 plus Blacks, 80 plus uh, Hispanics believe that a person should have a photo id and be a citizen if they vote.
The only ones that don't are the people that have been either brainwashed or really do belong to a subversive party that wants to destroy democracy in America, because without it, there's only one purpose, to have large numbers of people without identification and being allowed to vote without identification.
It allows you to cheat.
That is the only reason to do it.
When you say we're not going to check identification of people coming into a auditorium, it means that you are going to allow people in that otherwise shouldn't be allowed in or be safe otherwise.
If you want to be safe, you're going to have Check, like, no one's going to be allowed in tonight, God willing, unless we get a repeat of Butler County that is not supposed to be there.
And they will all have to have IDs and they will all have to be checked, and they will all have to go through, they will all have to go through some probably the magnetoma that we're all used to, maybe something even more serious than that.
And that's yes, for the protection of the president, protection of all the people there.
Now, there are people who are targeting people other than the president, although the president seems to be a peculiar repetitive target, largely because of the out-of-control, irresponsible, lying claims made by Democrats in things that, you know, when they first started, I wouldn't take them seriously.
Abigail Spanberger's Challenges00:07:20
Nazi?
Come on.
I thought, if anything, it would hurt them to do that, as opposed to using a charge like that against a decent American that you would disagree with.
Virginia governor, in her first couple of days, Abigail Spanberger, who's already done a pretty good job of ruining Virginia, along with Senator Alex Padilla, who comes from the worst state in the country, California, if you judge by people literally running away.
I mean, and the more their governor speaks, the more they run away.
So the two of them will be there.
Spamberger is going to explain to us how you can decide on the curriculum of a child in a Virginia school.
And she's in favor of the parents having nothing to say about that.
She's in favor of mutilating children up to the age of below the age of 18.
I don't know how low she's going to go in that.
I didn't check, but pretty darn low, as long as a doctor certifies it who will probably be making about $400,000 for doing that without any consideration to the, you know, the child's genital may be sacrificed to the doctor's greed.
You ever think that was possible, Spamberger?
She is a horrible, horrible governor.
She is left-wing as they get.
The only difference between her and Mandami is Mandani's more honest about it.
Well, he's worse, but they're pretty darn close.
And she's got the state already in a completely, completely confused fiscal situation.
So if you're living in Virginia, and you probably have to if you work for the federal government, I hope you enjoy voting Democrat because you're going to be paying a lot more in taxes.
And you already pay a lot in taxes.
And you also have given away your children because you lost the battle of the parents really being responsible for the children to the Democratic party that uniformly believes they're a creature of the state.
So Spamberger will speak.
Great.
Great.
And if I'm there, I'll find the quotations going back 150, 160, 170 years from which she is getting most of her excuse for thinking called Karl Marx and Frederick Engels.
And she will.
I guarantee you, I'll get five.
Let's see what happens.
Okay?
I'll get five.
If she stays on that long, some of them get tired.
I've seen them yawn.
I've seen them fall asleep while giving it.
I've seen many of them ruin their political careers with it.
Haven't you, Ted?
With this thing after the president.
Right.
So Spamberger, take your shot, babes.
Let all of America see what a left-wing fool you are.
The people of Virginia are flummoxed by the fact that they live so close to the swamp.
Also, you did a really good job that from the day you got in there, the place has been stinking.
It used to smell good before you came in.
Now it stinks because you don't know what the hell to do about the river.
That's called governing a spam burger.
It's called governing.
I didn't get a honeymoon.
The day I came in, we were going to have a sanitation strike.
I did something called settle it.
The Iran war is, oh gosh, has it gone into all sorts of levels of confusion?
There's a confusing report, possibly tactical, possibly real, in which the Pentagon is raising issues about the war.
And particularly General Kane, highly respected, who it's hard, but it's hard to read these concerns.
They are raising concerns that it carries risks.
Of course it carries risk.
I don't know how these are like new concerns.
The warnings have largely been voiced by General Dan Kaine, but other Pentagon leaders have similar worries.
Such discussions are always part of the contingency program before a major military offensive.
And they provide prudent estimates of possible casualties.
And he is warning that there could be substantial casualties.
Ayatollah Ali Khomeini said his forces could sink a U.S. warship.
I really don't think Khomeini's bluffing and death to America, death to Israel, death to the MEK, all that stuff he does every week.
I don't think that has anything to do with it.
I think this is a conservative, worst-case scenario.
So you face it before you make a decision, because this is the most monumental decision a president makes, right?
And every president feels this very, very, very, very strongly.
Now, to the point that it looks like it's moving slowly but very surely toward the point of something being done, Monday, which is yesterday, right?
There was another announcement of the evacuation of non-emergency personnel and the family members of staffers at the United States embassy.
That's a big move, Ted.
That's a very big move.
You know, you would say, gosh, given the history of Iran and the fact that they did take American hostages at the embassy, why the heck don't we move our whole embassy out?
I would, but get them all out.
What do we need embassy there for?
They're not, first of all, even if you want to go on with the negotiation, they're not negotiating it.
Conveying Brutality Viciousness00:02:21
It's being negotiated far away by Steve Woodkoff and Jared Kushner, not the ambassador, not the staff.
So get them all out of there.
Much still happened.
Let's see.
There was an article in the Post today about someone that I think we should find and try to interview, Ted, Tara Grammy.
She was born in Tehran.
She's a playwright, a Los Angeles playwright now.
And she is a big advocate for the Iranians that are trapped in a country.
She was born in 1988 in Tehran.
At six, she filed paperwork to get herself to Canada.
And after 20, she wrote a play, Mahmood, detailing the lives of Iranian expats in Toronto.
She's also a comedian, and she hosted a show called Persia's Got Talent.
So she is quite vocal on the brutality, the viciousness of the Ayatollah's regime.
That if anything, the violence is indescribable and has not been conveyed, even people with the best intentions, let's say, like me and you, Ted, and Dr. Maria, that we don't, that we don't, that it's, and I grant that that's so.
It's very, very hard to convey.
How do you convey what it's like if they have a person stretched out trying to expand the person for eight days?
They do that.
we're going back to the middle ages with these animals the the uh fatality numbers are always very very uh questionable because they just kill people on sight and they don't count those The executions or the singular shootings will get counted.
But if they shoot up a whole crowd, they might have killed 10 people and they're listed as two.
So we've got a real problem here.

Good evening.
Rudy Giuliani once again on the Rudy Giuliani Show.
And now we have with us our White House correspondent.
Everybody's busy down in Washington tonight.
Kara Castranova, who is at the Capitol also, correct?
I am here at the Capitol waiting for President Trump to arrive and start his speech at 9 p.m.
As you know, everybody's looking forward to it, Mr. Mayor.
So we're here anticipating that moment and looking forward to what the president has to say.
As you know, this is the president's first State of the Union address this term, and he plans to frame this past year as a defining comeback for his America First agenda.
The president is expected to highlight strong economic indicators, expanded domestic energy production, tougher border enforcement policies, and what the White House is calling a renewed posture of peace through strength abroad.
And Melania Trump's first ladybox, just fun fact, she will host guests meant to underscore opportunity and resilience, including foster care advocate Sarah Burns and 10-year-old AI education standout Everest Narramount.
And the president announced today he invited Erica Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, as well as the great members it is of that great hockey team, the gold medal team President Trump had over in the Oval Office earlier today.
They will also be in attendance, symbolic nods, obviously, to faith USA.
Maybe they'll cut a chance, a chant.
Would you be surprised if Democrats didn't partake in that chant?
Democrats will not.
Well, do you think Democrats will do?
They will not.
They will not.
USSR.
SR. CCCP.
Exactly.
So we'll see what happens and how the U.S. hockey team, who was President Trump's guests, are received.
And people are expecting the president to obviously talk about border security, economic nationalism, cultural issues, sharp contrast with Democrats in the chamber.
And people are also saying there could be some unscripted moments with President Trump.
As you know, President Trump tends to go off prompter.
So always looking forward to President Trump not on teleprompter if that happens tonight, Mr. Mayor.
Those will be the most exciting times, Cara, when he goes off prompter.
So tell me, we just got it.
We just got an analysis from Allison.
I'm going to give a prize to whoever gets closest.
How many Democrats do you say are not going to be here?
She said 70.
Two?
I didn't say 72.
72.
I forgot to ask her if she means House and Senate.
I think she did.
She said Democrats, so I'm going to have to.
Good.
What do you say?
Allison is the congressional reporter here.
I heard it was in the 30s.
I'm going to go for 37, 37, not coming.
And I hope I win.
I hope it's a good prize.
But yes, there's a lot of criticism right now, obviously.
But I'm going to have Ted and I are going to put some numbers down too.
So we'll get in the.
What do you say?
37.
37 for Cara.
What do you say, Ted?
I'm going to say 40.
And Dr. Maria says 42.
So there's only one way to.
I'm going to say 50.
Okay.
50.
I'm going to say 50.
All right.
Let's see.
We should call the president quickly, see what he gets.
Get in.
We got to get his back.
You know what he would say?
All of them.
I hope they stay home.
Yeah.
I hope they stay home.
No, you know, he's going to, he's got some very good points to make.
For example, the whole issue of ID, he's got the whole country on his side.
I'm not sure they know he's on it.
They're on his side.
He could make that sale today, that connection tonight.
He could make the connection on vouchers, school vouchers tonight.
He got the whole country on his side.
The parents, parents should be deciding about education.
Not the government like Spamberger in Virginia does, where they control your job.
I mean, these are he's somebody today said he does so much that people can't keep up with him.
You know, there's one great accomplishment.
Some days you'll announce two great accomplishments, and then there'll be a third one before the night's out.
And how do you cover all that?
I mean, how do you cover it?
Meaning, cover it and digest it.
So I think this is a wonderful opportunity for him.
It is.
And a lot of people are trying to guess who the designated, I actually did a poll, and I want to read to you an excellent who we believe will be the designated survivor tonight.
And people are taking that on that too.
Yes.
Who do you think President Trump chose as the designated survivor, Mr. Mayor?
Oh, my God.
I don't know the answer.
It's not announced yet.
But as far as I know, see, I don't, that's a good guess.
You don't know until the moment.
Gosh, almighty, you got to be careful.
You can't pick somebody like and make it a sign that they're useless.
I mean, that would be.
Well, no, no, no.
You want, if you're chosen, it's almost a good thing because you're they trust you.
God forbid the person's got to run the country.
It's actually, I think it's a high honor to be chosen.
It never used to be.
They'd always pick like the most useless guy.
And in the movie they did, the five or six part movie, they picked like this very weak milquetoast housing secretary who never wanted to be a housing secretary anyway.
All of a sudden, he's not sure he wants to be president.
His wife has to push him into it.
But it was a key key for Southern.
Oh, I'm going to just, I'm going to say somebody that could be that he thinks could be maybe a member of the cabinet.
Yeah, of course.
American member of the cabinet.
I'll tell you who I would pick.
Who?
I'll tell you who I pick.
Marco Rubio.
Mark Rubio.
I had a feeling you say that.
A lot of people are saying Pete Hegseth and possibly Secretary Kennedy.
I did a poll on X and Hegseth came in first, then Kennedy.
So interesting.
Who do you think it's going to be?
I think it's going to be Kennedy.
I'm going to bet on Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Jr.
The mayor says Rubio.
So why do you tell me?
Well, tell me your thinking, Ted.
Actually, why did you pick Hegseth?
I picked Rubio because right now in the early going, Marco seems like the most prepared to be president.
That's why I picked him.
If God forbid they should blow up the whole thing and some guy's got to pull us through, I think Turner.
I could certainly live with Pete.
I could certainly live with RFK.
Housing right now, is that Scott Turner?
Yes, Scott Turner.
I'm going, you said a housing.
So you're going to turn.
And I say that.
And that, to me, that's an honor.
I'm saying Scott Turner, not because I think he's the least important of the cabinet secretaries.
I just, for some reason, I'm thinking, did he, was he a former athlete or right?
He's like a strong guy.
I'm picking Secretary Turner.
He's a little bit on the Secretary of Transportation.
I was going to say Secretary Duffy, but I saw him in the White House.
Secretary Duffy is another guy.
But I saw him in the White House.
He could handle the job.
If you're the designated survivor, are you anywhere near there today?
No, they have a secret location and they tell you a day or two in advance and you have to be there far away from here.
God forbid anything happens.
So it's always kind of fun, I guess, to try to guess who that person is.
And they're hiding out right now as we speak.
I don't know if their family's with them.
I just know that it's a secret location.
It's not announced.
The person, I guess you'll figure it out when you see who's not there tonight, who the designated survivor is.
But in the past, I do believe there was a transportation secretary that was a designated survivor in the past.
It's always different.
A fun fact in 2021, because of COVID, when Joe Biden did his State of the Union address, there was no designated survivor because all of the Democrats stayed home.
So they were all designated survivors in 2021 because of COVID.
So yeah, fun fact there.
They all stayed home.
The cabinet did not come.
Yeah, well, they actually didn't show up for four years.
So it wasn't terribly different than any other.
What's different about today?
A quick fun video.
Well, this is, I'm excited for this.
And I do hope President Trump, I do hope he goes off prompter.
I really do.
I think that this is a chance for him to really win over more fans, I guess, that are watching on TV.
This is obviously something that will be watched around the world, around the country, really.
And as you know, President Trump is always best when he is unscripted.
I think it would be historical if he treated this like a rally almost and really spoke to his base, spoke to Americans, rather than sort of doing the teleprompter for TV thing.
So a lot of people hoping he will go off prompter, but it's traditional to use a teleprompter during the State of the Union address.
Well, we're going to see what happens.
And you're going to be there?
You're going to be watching it?
We'll be watching it.
I have some clips for you, but I think we are running out of time, Mr. Mayor.
So I don't want to take up your last couple of minutes.
Yep.
I think I'll have to wait until next time.
Okay.
We are, Mr. Mayor.
And I'll see you on the other end.
Thanks so much.
Most important is talking to you anyway.
God bless her.
She does a great job.
So does Allison?
What a great team we got.
Wow.
Bet we could beat him in softball.
Well, we're going to go over to X now.
We're going to start getting ready for the countdown toward the speech.
We do want to spend a little time on Iran.
There's a big development in Iran that was disclosed late last night that I want to, I don't know how much of this has been disclosed.
We'll find some reporting.
I think I've seen some reporting on it.
So we'll find it and we'll talk about it.
Yep.
Yep.
I want to be careful.
I give away what I can and not what I can't.
So good luck to the president tonight and good luck to America.
