I'd like to say that God's main purpose for the state is to restrain evildoers so we're not hindered by doing what God wants us to do to help build this kingdom which is not of this world, not to have the state do it for us.
And not voting is effectively voting for more evil than voting for the lesser of two evils, All right, so good.
So obviously you're a religious man.
I'm told this by leading not just pollsters, but leading Christians like Jack Hibbs, who I had on last week.
Why do so many Christians not vote, in your opinion?
Well, that's what I was saying.
Jesus said his kingdom is not of this world, and I think there are many Christians that misunderstand that, and they think...
We shouldn't be involved in politics.
And that's what I'm trying to explain, that God does have a purpose for the state, and the main purpose is to restrain evildoers.
Yes, yes, it's an amazing comment.
The word politics is insufficient.
By not voting, one is voting to sustain evil.
That is exactly right.
If you don't vote against evil.
So imagine that.
I mean, I have such a large Christian audience.
I've been probably the most consistent defender of Christians in America over the last half century.
At least 40 years of my broadcasting.
And any Christian who doesn't vote for theological reasons is saying...
God doesn't care about evil.
God doesn't care about human affairs.
And I don't understand that.
And by the way, it's not a good message for Christians.
The Christian task, or a Christian task, is to bring non-Christians to Christ.
It's not an appeal, I have to say.
It is not an appealing message.
We don't give a damn about the bad things that happen to people because our kingdom is not of this world.
That's what one is saying by not voting.
I don't care about what happens to my fellow human being because I am awaiting some eschatological event.
