Actually, it does not happen. - If the implication is the host, there might be anything pre-recorded.
I am live, ladies and gentlemen.
I can prove it to you.
I will give you today's date.
It is the last day of August, which is the eighth month of the year.
Every year, the 31st is the last day of August.
And that is true this year as well.
Alright, is that good?
It's the last day of PragerU's fundraising.
You, from the bottom of my heart and my mind, you made PragerU possible, my listeners.
You were the first contributors.
And it's become the largest non-left video site on earth.
And I know that because I speak around the earth.
And I meet young people everywhere in the world who are touched.
You know how big the battle is?
Here's an example.
Australia is on lockdown again.
Nothing happens.
No commerce, basically.
And most Australians are for it.
The Australians have gone from one of the most fighting peoples on Earth, our magnificent allies in World War I, World War II, and Korea and Vietnam.
To a nation of wimps.
Sweet wimps.
I love visiting Australia.
Very friendly people.
And their guts have been cut out from them.
Same with New Zealand, I presume.
Where is the article today on...
There we go.
Where is it printed now?
City Journal?
God, the great City Journal.
No liberty, no problem.
Australians shrug at their government's draconian pandemic response.
Who's left with loving liberty?
Swedes?
I'm not kidding.
The Israelis don't.
The Americans don't.
Although, a good chunk of Americans do.
We haven't seen the end of the fight in this country with regard to tyranny.
Now, you'll say tyranny's fine because it's the name of health.
There's always a name.
Tell me a tyrant that has not had a noble cause through which he or she, well, it's almost always he, became a tyrant.
Does anybody say, we are going to impose a tyranny in this country for the sake of tyranny?
No.
It doesn't happen.
There's always a cause.
There's no medical foundation for this, and to the extent that there is, it has to be permanent.
I don't see any possibility of there being anything going on in Australia for the foreseeable future, because as soon as there is one, I mean one, person with COVID, well, that's one too many.
The old fraud himself, Andrew Cuomo, that was his big deal, remember?
If I have saved one life with everything I have done, I will sleep well at night.
Riot police firing rubber bullets into lockdown protesters.
Rescue dogs being shot to prevent volunteers traveling to collect them.
Nighttime curfews and one hour of exercise per day.
Five kilometer.
You know what five kilometers is?
Let's see, five kilometers is about three miles.
Travel limits.
Soldiers patrolling suburbs to enforce lockdowns.
Health bureaucrats advising the citizenry not to stop and talk to their neighbors while walking their dog.
Remember the women who were arrested for talking in the dog park?
While wearing masks, of course, of course.
What the hell is happening down under?
Who wrote this piece, by the way?
I don't know this.
Arthur Trenkoff.
I only know City Journal.
Truly important journal.
Who runs that?
That's the Manhattan Institute.
Who runs the Manhattan Institute, do you know?
Yeah.
Who?
Raheem.
All right.
You got it for me.
What the hell is happening down under?
Totalitarianism, says Tucker Carlson.
Australia has lost its collective mind, according to Ben Shapiro.
If we invade Australia, we will be greeted as liberators.
That's a great line, argues Jack Posobiec.
Has COVID-19 really turned one of the world's oldest democracies into a dystopian health dictatorship?
As my Polish grandmother used to say, things are rarely as good or as bad as they appear.
Australia has been the victim of both its success and its failure in tackling COVID. At just under 1,000 deaths, Australia has had the second lowest mortality among the OECD countries after New Zealand.
It helps, of course, to be an island nation.
The border remains closed today, with permits required to come to Australia issued in limited numbers and limited circumstances.
And to leave it, the few arrivals are subject to a 14-day quarantine.
In addition, state governments have from their outset reacted with hard lockdowns and closures of their own borders.
Flattening the curve was so successful, it prompted the transition to the elimination of zero-COVID strategy.
So today, a mere handful of new cases is enough to send a state capital city with a multi-million population or even an entire state into lockdown.
In an attempt to contain and suppress the outbreak.
Yep.
Here's the key.
To those half-jokingly tweeting about invading and liberating Australia, I have some bad news.
Australia does not want to be liberated.
Strong majorities support the harsh measures.
Several state elections over this time have seen incumbents comfortably re-elected on platforms of acting tough against COVID. Wow.
Their message?
Those advocating a lighter touch want to kill your grandma.
Well, I'm a grandpa.
And I prefer liberty to perfect safety.
Okay?
So I don't qualify to be an Australian.
I do qualify to be a Democrat.
No, excuse me.
I don't qualify to be a Democrat either.
I knew I said something wrong.
Melbourne has been hard lockdown for more than 200 days so far.
Polling suggests only a small dip in support, not nearly enough to unseat the administration.
The consensus can be distilled in the following.
Look at the rest of the world.
Our government has kept us safe so far.
we can't allow what has happened in the United States or Europe to happen here there we go I'm not going to read you the rest maybe I will later liberty as Dennis Prager has often said is a value, not an instinct Thank you.
People prefer so many things to liberty.
Liberty is not even in the top ten.
That may be exaggerated.
Might be the bottom half of the top ten.
That's an interesting exercise.
What values are more important to a lot of people than liberty?
The one that I always cite is being taken care of.
Right?
That's number one.
That's what the Israelites wanted in the desert.
They got out of Egypt, hundreds of years of slavery, and within months, weeks, maybe days, were already complaining that they preferred the food in Egypt.
I mean, think of what a slave gets, or a slave got in Egypt.
Some slaves got in America.
Obviously, room and board.
Medical care, to the extent that medical care even existed before modern medicine.
After all, not out of kindness necessarily, just out of not wanting to lose one's investment.
I see it a little bit differently.
You do?
Give him the mic.
He has a different take here.
I agree with you.
Hold on.
Go on again.
I agree with you.
Okay, we're having a problem here.
Okay, we try it again.
I agree with your assessment, but I see it slightly differently.
I think you can sum up the human condition in this way.
The number one desire for human beings is security, and the number two is liberty.
And there's this eternal tension between the two.
They're very close and very far.
So...
The Israelites were liberated from Egypt, so they...
All right, we'll continue in a moment.
That makes sense?
Doesn't he have a fixed white there?
What happened?

But these other places want to be number one, China specifically.
So while they're looking to build their militaries and to strengthen their militaries, we're looking to brainwash ours.
And it's a sad commentary, but I want you to understand what we're dealing with.
If we can't count on the Biden-Harris administration to conduct even a safe and orderly troop withdrawal or leave just a small residual amount of troops behind to keep the country stabilized, what else can we not count on from the Biden administration?
Look at our open borders.
Do you really believe that the Biden administration...
We'll be able to fix the borders, perhaps even wants to fix the borders.
I don't even believe they want to fix the borders, frankly.
I don't think there's any doubt about it that the vast majority of us wanted to get out of there.
No one wants our soldiers to go to war in perpetuity.
But I don't believe in handing our soldiers a loss.

The opening monologue that he does in the movie Patton, which I don't know if it got the Academy Award or very close.
And I think George E. Scott did get the Academy Award.
But we put up the opening monologue, and I said, that is not a woke general, but it's a general that knows how to win.

I mean, a lockdown the likes of which actually did not exist in the Soviet Union.
In the Soviet Union, you were allowed to stay outside all you wanted.
You were allowed to talk to people on the street.
I know the Soviet Union very well.
Except for what you can say to your fellow family members, There is less freedom in Australia today than there was in the Soviet Union.
That's measurable in terms of what you can do or what you cannot do.
You cannot leave Australia.
You could not leave the Soviet Union.
That's another example.
But in the Soviet Union, you were allowed to go more than three miles from your house.
But if you say we're saving lives, then people bow down.
Oh, that's great.
I don't give a damn about liberty.
I want to save lives.

Well, that's what she said.

So I was saying that liberty is not the highest value for most people, and that being taken care of is one of them.
And health is another.
So the living martyr wanted to offer his thoughts, which vary from this.
So here we go.
They vary only slightly.
So my contention is that security is the number one desire and freedom is the number two desire.
And that they live in eternal tension.
They're not...
Very far from one.
It's not like a list.
I don't think there's a list of ten things and then there's freedom, or seven things and then there's freedom.
I think freedom is very high on the list, but freedom requires discipline, freedom requires rules, and therefore requires work, and that makes it less attractive than security, which requires nothing but submission.
So security is for the lazy, and freedom is for the more active.
The irony with Australians, we always think of Australians as being these energetic, independent people.
That's kind of their reputation, but now that's really in question.
We don't really differ.
So do you know of any country today, does anything come to mind as people who are placing liberty first?
So, Well, I believe the U.S. is placing liberty first.
I believe that.
I think there are more people who cherish liberty in the U.S. over security.
Their voices are not being heard right now, but they may be heard soon.
In what way will they be hurt?
In elections?
Yeah, in elections.
I mean, look, we encounter it all the time at PragerU.
I mean, it's a big country.
There are 340 million people, whatever the number is.
And I think most of those people still cherish their freedom.
They're just under a lot of pressure not to talk about it.
I mean, this is sort of the...
Something that Rod Dreher talks about, this difference between soft totalitarianism and hard totalitarianism.
There are a lot of temptations in the soft direction.

That was our belief.
We're not so sure now.

It's totalitarianism.
Oh, yes.
No, you're right.
It's absolutely not.

Yes, exactly.
Okay, thank you.

It's an interesting question that I see this coming.
I often see things coming.
I predicted decades ago that male and female were being obliterated.
And, of course, I opposed consistently, and again in my column, leaving Afghanistan.
Two spectacular errors, in my opinion, leaving and the way it was done.

I think 2014. But this I did not see.

It was the exact opposite.

We knocked out 100 percent of the ISIS caliphate.

A person who's never done anything useful in his life says, we don't have a complete picture, obviously, of where every article of defense materials has gone, but certainly a fair amount of it has fallen into the hands of the Taliban.
And obviously we don't have a sense that we're going to be ready to handily hand it over to us at the airport.
The Taliban now has the 26th largest air force in the world with zero pilots.
600,000 weapons, 75,000 vehicles, 200 total aircraft, and $85 billion in total weapons.

Leaving Afghanistan, it's the way that he has ordered it to happen, by pulling the troops before getting these Americans who are now stranded.

Some fight.
I have a fighter on the line.
She is a parent of kids going to school.
An Orange County, California mom.
Andrea Dustin.
I want to hear her story and the role PragerU has played in it.
Andrea, thank you for coming on.
Thanks for having me on, Dennis.
Tell us your story.
Well, we moved to California almost seven years ago now.
From where?
And my kids are very young.
Where did you move?
From Utah.
Why would you do that?
My husband got a job opportunity down here, and so we looked at the weather.
Thought it might be a good move to make.
Did the moving company pay you?
Yes.
Yeah, I mean, it was a great deal for us.
We were able to purchase a home down here.
And, you know, living in Orange County is a lot different than living in L.A. or San Francisco.
It's kind of a little conservative pocket.
And we really love where we live.
We love our neighbors and a lot of like-minded folks around where we live.
Great.
Good.
I believe that.
Go ahead.
So, you know, my kids were small, not yet in school.
And my, you know, as my kids are coming up and starting to get into school, I caught wind of our school district's sex education.
And a little bit of my background, I have a master's in education in school counseling.
And so I received that degree and did my internship while I was pregnant.
With my daughter, and when I had her, I decided to stay at home, which is the best decision I've ever made.
So I'm a stay-at-home mom.
But I had this background in education, and so I was being sent the curriculum that our school district was trying to adopt.
They were trying to vote on it for the school board, and it was called Teen Talk.
And it read more like a sexually explicit novel than it did a sex education.
And I was horrified by it.
So, I started talking to people.
Forgive me, Andrea.
For what age?
For middle school, Dennis.
For 11 and 12 year olds.
Okay, go on.
And so, I started networking and I met with a woman named Debbie Stapley and she was already kind of in on it and she told me that, you know, we need to write the school board.
We need to really fight against this.
Her and two other people, Skip Helwell and Shalom Mormon, had been fighting the school board against the dress code.
And so they kind of knew how to get in and knew how to contact them and kind of put up a bulwark against this because it was such a terrible curriculum.
And so I wrote in to the school board and they decided to do a parent task force for the sex ed curriculum.
And so, All four of us were a part of that, and then we decided to kind of, well, Debbie found an organization called United Parents, and so we started getting email addresses from people, and then we started organizing talks, and I went around Orange County and gave speeches to people.
I had a PowerPoint presentation talking about the sex education law, how it became law, what it entails.
And, you know, a lot of the problem was that parents had no idea how bad the law was.
I mean, the curriculum is bad, but the law was just as awful.
And anyway, when I dug into it to do this PowerPoint and was educating people about it, I found how deep the, I don't know, the corruption went.
So, I mean, it starts, obviously, with the California Department of Education.
I mean, all of these people are activists, all the people who work in education on the state level and then even on the local level, which I was sad to find, like in our local school district.
So even though I live in South Orange County, which is probably the most conservative pocket in almost any coastal city in the United States, we have staff members in our own school district who are very left-leaning, who have an agenda, who want to implement.
You know, certain curriculums because they obviously wanted to adopt children.
And so, you know, I found out that all of these, the curricula that the California Department of Education recommended for schools to adopt to this new law that was passed were reviewed by an organization called ASHWIG. And all the board members on ASHWIG were from Planned Parenthood, from the ACLU. Stay with that point.
Your story is very important.
How to do something about what your children are being taught.

I heard the word strategist.
My friends, I'm Dennis Prager.
Andrea Dustin has a master's in education.
I have no idea why she does.
Maybe she'll explain that.
But she, infinitely more importantly, is a stay-at-home mother.
And she has battled what goes on in her school district.
To summarize, she lives in the most conservative part of a conservative district in Southern California.
Yes, there are conservative districts in Southern California.
And she nevertheless notes that the school board, the school district is run by leftists.
Her particular battle was with the premature sexualization of kids, something I have talked about my entire life, well before I ever heard of COVID. And before I ever heard of a critical race theory.
So go ahead.
So you find out how deep the leftist rot is in the education system.
Go on.
Yes, so essentially Planned Parenthood is teaching your kids sex education.
And that is terrifying.
These people want your daughters to have an abortion.
And if you think that's some kind of right-wing rhetoric, you're wrong.
Because I've seen the way these people operate and the way they infiltrate every aspect of education in the system from the frameworks that, you know, are in the educational system, you know, what they write curriculum off of for the entire state to local school boards.
And, you know, it's not confined to Planned Parenthood.
The ACLU has a similar mission.
And, you know, it's that abortion advocacy.
I mean, these people brag about it.
They're excited that they've expanded abortion access, and they want that to be a part of your child sex education.
So, you know, on a moral level, I object to that vehemently.
And then the gender theory, which we know is about as scientific as teaching your children that the earth is flat.
And that's something that's really going to have an impact.
I just read Abigail Schreier's book on...
Rapid-onset gender dysphoria, and it's a travesty what's happening.
And it is going to affect your kids in school, especially because the way the law was written in California means you cannot opt your kid out.
Well, you can't opt your kid out of sex ed.
You cannot opt your kid out of anything regarding gender or sexual orientation.
So what did you finally do?
So we worked with the...
With the district, and we kind of came to this conclusion that the reason why so many parents object to this, obviously, is it's a value.
I mean, sex is a value.
And we all have our own values around sex.
And so the district kind of hodgepodge together a curriculum from different parts.
I mean, they had to put something on the table or else the ACLU was threatening to sue them.
They had lawyers.
They were threatening lawsuits.
And ACLU representatives spoke at the school board meeting despite...
Strong public objection to the curriculum as a whole was passed by the school board.
And, you know, one thing that people don't know about school boards is that they're elected by teachers' unions.
Teachers' unions are also elected, as we've seen, with the closures with COVID and everything.
And so it's all kind of stacked against you.
But we were able to win in that we got a parental component to it and that we made it so that...
So are your kids still in school?
Yes, they are.
Why are you laughing?
Because I listen to you, Dennis, and I know, I mean, I have grappled with pulling my kids from this educational system, and I watch it really closely.
The elementary that my kids go to and their teachers, I know personally.
I talk to them.
Look, if you trust the school, I don't have a problem with kids going to school where the school is trustworthy to actually teach and not indoctrinate.
So tell me, I'm curious, because Alan told me that you've used PragerU materials.
Is that true?
Yes.
So PragerU, what it did, so, I mean, we were able to get...
One school board official elected, you know, that was on our side that was kind of a bulwark, and that helped the most.
And for me, when Prager, you launched your kids, when you launched your prep program, I was on it immediately.
I got the email, and I clicked right away.
I joined, and I joined the Facebook group.
And so that's what's so helpful in all this, because with all that I did, Dennis, I have spent hours of my life researching and finding out things.
And trying to help my kids navigate these waters because we are up against a really powerful force and a powerful army.
And it's so lonely.
And what's so hard about it is that I see it, and it terrifies me that so many children are going to be indoctrinated this way and are grown to think these things or think this way about life or sexuality.
and then, you know, with CRT coming down the pipeline, think that they're somehow other because they're white or they're black or to look at people because of the color of their skin.
All of that is so detrimental to us as a society.
And where PragerU comes in with the prep content, it's just been invaluable for me because you have all of these other like-minded people that care because so many people just kind of sit back and think, I don't have the energy to do that.
I'm barely making it on my own, but I think we've got to do something.
We have to fight back.
And without tools and resources to do that, it's a really lonely battle.
And so at least for me, and, you know, and I mentioned those three other individuals that I worked with in United Parents because they were older.
Their kids are grown.
They have grandkids, and they were spending their time to fight against sex ed because they knew it was the right thing to do because they cared about future generations.
Right.
All right.
Let me leave it there.
You're terrific.
Help us.
This is the final day of August, final day of fundraising for PragerU.
There's a parent that uses PrEP.
PrEP is PragerU resources for educators and parents.
And you know what the great bonus is?
You meet kindred spirits.
Without kindred spirits, you can't fight.
You can't be happy.
It's the key.
So join that if you have kids, and in the meantime, help us out at PragerU.
Anything you give today will be tripled.
Thank you so much, Andrea.
We still have a fighting spirit in this country.
America's not over yet.
It's important for you to know that.
We return.

This is the left, and we've heard this so many times, that the word is fluid for the Constitution.
Oh, it's fluid, it changes in meaning, so there's no real specific definition.
Well, that's not true.
The hallmark of our Constitution is not just separation of powers, but limited specific powers.
On the federal level, the Biden administration and the executive branch and even Congress are limited to the specific enumerated powers that are given in the United States Constitution.
Our Ninth and Tenth Amendment reserve all powers that are not enumerated to the states and to the people.

The state legislatures can absolutely meet and they can determine.
Whether or not to implement some of these things if they're even constitutional, and there's a lot of reasons that they're not.
But that is a specifically legislative designation.
So for these executive branch officials to say, hey, we're exercising our emergency authorization, we're going to force every individual to show a vaccine passport before they can take advantage and exercise their rights with respect to going into restaurants, gyms, hotels, I mean, all of these things.

Lakewood, California, and Anna, hello.
Hello.
Hi.
Hi.
Dennis.
Great.
Great man.
I'm so glad to be able to have you influence my life.
Thank you.
Yes.
So, yes.
You there?
Yeah, I am.
I'm just listening to your emotions.
So tell me why you're so emotional right now.
I'm sorry.
Okay.
You know, I come from a Jewish mother and an atheist father.
She left her Jewish family, so she left her kind of religious ways to be with my father, and we lived in a non-secular, well, a non-secular way, almost religious-hating way.
We really did.
We grew up religious-hating, to be honest.
Anyway, in this last couple years, I've been real, or I've had my eyes open to a lot of things.
Anyway.
In this last year of my daughter being on school, virtual school lockdown, I was able to witness actually what the Planned Parenthood agenda teachings they were actually giving to my daughter.
In print, I actually saw, as I looked over my daughter's shoulder, I saw that they gave her an exercise called the red light, green light exercise of...
How to deal with promiscuous or non-promiscuous situations, I guess?
I can't remember.
I took a screenshot picture of it.
Anyhow, when you look at the black and white print of a list of things to do in this red light, green light activity, you look in it, first choice is go bowling.
Second choice was anal sex.
So, at that point, I was shocked that my...
12-year-old was seeing this.
My 12-year-old daughter, I mean, I thought, wait, what?
The agenda of the left is to rob every child of innocence.
Everything about the left is sick.
Everything.

General McMaster and Secretary Esper are blaming you for the Doha agreement.
They're saying that you empowered them.
What do you make of these criticisms from General McMaster, who was your second National Security Advisor, and Secretary Esper?
Yeah.
These are two guys.
You know, I had great people in my administration, but those two were stiffs.
McMaster was not a smart guy.
All he liked doing was talking to the press, and I rarely listened to him, and then ultimately fired him.
And Jesper, I called him Jesper because all he did was say yes.
Jesper was like a little boy.
All he did was say yes.
No matter what you asked him, he was a lightweight.
And honestly, should not have been in that position.
We were rushed because there was a difficulty with a good man who was in there prior to him.
He had some...
Family difficulty.
And I gave Jesper a try and put him in there for a short period of time.
He didn't have what it takes.
The men and women, the people within the military, did not respect him.
And McMaster, all he did was like to write things and write books and complain, and he wasn't a smart person.
Just so you understand, they're complaining about the agreement that I just talked about with you, which had strong conditions.
And when the reason, as an example, I wanted to be out as soon as possible, but we had to get out strong with all our equipment and no death.
The reason nobody was killed in the last 18 months was because of what we did.
Beyond the agreement was because of the relationship I developed with the leaders, and in particular with Abdul.

In terms of dedication to helping America, there's no comparison between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Donald Trump really, really, really wanted to help America.
Joe Biden does not.
That's Biden, and that's Afghanistan, and that's the conservatives.
Now Biden, which we would not have if we had a Republican president.
Yes, every one of you businesses in America, you must not allow people who are not vaccinated, even if they've had COVID, and are probably in a better medical position not to transmit or get the disease.
Everybody has to get a vaccination.
We've been lying to you, we on the left, since Roe v. I played. since Roe v. I played.
An excerpt from some interview, obviously.
I don't have Joe Biden in the studio with me.
Nor, I might add, would I find that appealing.
Because it's not my nature to berate people or humiliate people.
Berate, yes, I do that a lot.
But humiliate, no.
It is not possible to overstate the incompetence and corruption of this president.
I truly believe it is not possible.
Great question that may just go unresolved.
Do the Republicans who voted for Joe Biden regret it?
And my assumption is they do not.
There are people whose hatred of Donald Trump It's quite remarkable, isn't it?
I can't say that I understand them.
I get frustrated, I admit it, when I don't understand people.
My inner My yearning in life was to understand life.
I wanted to do that.
In the years I would have on this earth, that was my aim from high school.
I wanted to understand as much as possible.
I feel that I've accomplished a lot in understanding, but there are things I don't.
The hatred of Donald Trump on the part of any person who considers him or herself conservative is inexplicable to me.
Inexplicable.
It is so 100% emotional that I can't relate to it.
I can't relate to the fully irrational.
I just can't.
Where all the good a president of the United States did for the world and for America doesn't count because you don't like a person?
I said during his administration, is that profoundly narcissistic?
I don't like him, therefore all the good he does is not of consequence.
I will vote for a Democrat whom I know will wreck my country.
That is the thinking of an anti-Trump Republican.
It's perverse.
It's truly perverse.
To be that overwhelmed by your dislike of a human being for whatever reason?
Do I give a damn whether you like a president?
Do you give a damn whether I like a president?
I don't give a damn whether I like a president, let alone whether you do.
I only care if the president does good for the country.
This immature notion, I must respect my president.
No, you must respect what he does.
The confusion of things, it's a form of immature thinking.
It's like parents who want to be loved by their children at all times.
You will be such a lousy parent.
I pity a child whose parent wants to be loved all the time by their child.
I pity that child.
The parent will fail as a parent.
So much of that, all of this, I had that on a call yesterday, yes, when I had a sort of a debate with a caller.
And I think it was a respectful debate, if I recall.
I don't remember the context.
Oh, yes, vaguely I do.
Anyway, the issue was something being true according to your experience.
And my argument was, my experience matters to me, but it has nothing to do with truth.
Truth is not dependent on my experience.
Truth is an objective fact.
But the idea that truth is objective is actually now considered white supremacist.
Did you know that?
You should look up all the things that are white supremacist.
I brought them to you over the course of the last year, certainly.
The idea that math has one answer.
In Oregon, math doesn't.
If that is not the greatest insult to blacks that you can conceive of by an institution, I'd like to know what is.
The left-wing view of blacks is so contemptuous that...
There really is systemic racism in the country, but it is entirely on the left.
The left is systemically racist.
You are not competent enough, blacks, to be held accountable for the right answer in math.
So we will not any longer demand one right answer in math.
That is white supremacists.
Here's another question in that regard.
When an L.A. Times opinion columnist writes that Larry Elder is the black face of white supremacy, does the average writer at the New York Times think, wow, I am really proud to have published that?
That's another one of those questions I will never get answered.
I'd like to know, in their heart of hearts, does the average editor, columnist, writer at the LA Times feel, I'm so proud of my paper for publishing that.
Larry Elder is the black face of white supremacy.
What do you think?
Do you think the average, if we could get a true, true poll, I don't know what the answer would be, to be honest.
My hunch, are you ready, is that most agree.
That is the level of the Los Angeles Times, the moral and intellectual level of what has become garbage.
Why has it become garbage?
Because the left has taken it over.
Nothing survives leftist takeovers.
Nothing.
Somebody, I don't remember, did you send it to me?
What has happened to late night comedy in America?
There was an article on it.
I guess not.
I guess I saw it on my own.
And it was exactly what I have been telling you for years.
It's another victim of the left.
Those of us old enough to remember Johnny Carson, or even Jay Leno, just knew there was a place you could tune in after a tough day.
And most days have toughness to them.
Financially, maritally, children, friends, business, health, the number of areas that can bring you misery is very large.
And Johnny Carson and Jay Leno thought that their task was to provide you with some lightness, but not...
Not the crowd now.
Their task is to make you angry at America.
Not bring Americans together.
That's certainly not true.
Not provide a politically neutral space.
A safe space, if you will.
That's a term the left should resonate to.
But to further indoctrinate you.

It seems like the president is doubling down.
And what is shocking to me, we had a brief with Secretary Blinken, Secretary Austin, General Milley, etc.
And there was very strong bipartisan pushback.
On the August 31st deadline.
In fact, some of the strongest statements pushing back on that came from my Democratic colleagues, particularly those who are veterans who've served in Afghanistan and in uniform and other parts of the world were very forceful in telling the administration to their face that this is a disaster.

In Britain, young children don't wear masks in school.
They're killing their children.
Or the other retort.
Well, they're not killing the children, but they're killing the grandparents.
Well, as a grandparent, may I say...
I don't want my child to go to a school, my grandchild to go to a school that insists on masks.
Okay?
I'm prepared to die on that sword.
No hero.
I don't think I'll die.
I know the science.
In Britain, young children don't wear masks in school.
During the Delta surge, British schools emphasized other safety measures.
Must have been a painful thing to report at the New York Times.
From late spring until early summer, Britain's elementary and secondary schools were opened during an alarming wave of Delta infections, and they handled the Delta spike in ways that might surprise American parents, educators, and lawmakers.
Masking was a limited part of the strategy.
In fact, for the most part, elementary school students and their teachers did not wear masks in classrooms at all.
During the height of the Delta surge in Britain.
Wow.
What do you mask lovers make of that?
The Brits are out of their minds?
Look, that's your only choice, correct?
Either Brits are out of their minds or they don't care if children die.
Those are the only two possibilities for those who believe in masks in schools.
Right?
That's it.
The UK has always from the beginning emphasized they do not see a place for face coverings for children if it's avoidable, said Dr. Shamez Ladhani, a pediatric infectious disease specialist at St. George's Hospital in London, author of several government studies on the virus and schools.
The potential harms exceed the potential benefits, he said.
Because seeing faces is, quote, important for the social development and interaction between people.
That's right.
Well, you can always look at it this way.
It's better than Australia.
Right?
Better than New Zealand.
Freer, but not as free as Sweden or Britain.
The mature mind in all of life asks a basic question.
It's one of the ten most important questions in being a mature human being.
What price am I paying?
Think about it.
Whenever you buy an item, the first question you ask is, how much does it cost?
Because you weigh in every single purchase you make in life, benefits versus costs.
But it's the only area that people do it in.
It's an amazing thing.
The only time people ask, what does it cost, is when they buy something.
What does it cost is the most important question in life in many ways.
What are the benefits and what are the costs?
Nobody in the American administration asked, what is the cost of keeping children out of school, of keeping them masked, of not allowing them to play with other kids, of not allowing them to see faces for over a year?
What?
Is the cost?
And is it worth the benefit?
Now, if you look me straight in the face and say, you know what?
Keeping kids out of school, keeping them masked, having them breathe with difficulty wearing a mask if they run at all, it's all worth it.
Because, after all, 300 kids under 18 last year died of COVID. You're an idiot if you say that, but I respect you for saying it.
At least you are admitting I'm crushing children because 300 died.
Every one of which, by the way, with some terrible comorbidity.
More kids die of flu than of COVID. Do you know that?
Do the people who want kids masked know that?
Do they know anything other than, hey, it's safety.
I'm angry, obviously.
We have hurt a generation of children for no reason.
This might be the only generation in which it might be accurate to say, don't trust anyone over 30, because people over 30 have hurt children, most particularly teachers and teachers' unions.
Has become contemptible in most cases.
You know it.
I know it.
Half of America knows it.
They still send their kids to them, but that's my daily message.
Why would you send your children to people you cannot trust your children with?
It's a perplexing question.
But, uh...
As opposed to England, listen to what we have in the United States.
When we come back, I will tell you what the...
Who was it?
One of the heads of the teachers' unions?

It's the second largest country, L.A. U.S.D., L.A. Unified School District, second only to New York City.
Cecily Meyer-Cruz, Los Angeles Magazine, not a conservative source.
Listen to what she said.
Are you ready?
This is...
This is what exemplifies the teaching profession today.
Speaking about the last year of no school, right?
There's no such thing as learning loss, she responds, when asked how her insistence on keeping L.A. schools mostly locked down over the last year and a half may have impacted the city's 600,000 kindergarten through 12th grade students.
Get that?
How did your insistence, teachers, the guilty profession, teaching?
They hurt your children in every way I can think of.
Their innocence, their values, and their even ability to go to school.
So she answers, there's no such thing as learning loss.
This is a teacher.
This is the head of the Teachers Union of Los Angeles.
I'm not done.
Our kids didn't lose anything.
It's okay that our babies...
Babies?
Is she talking through 12th grade?
It's okay that our babies may not have learned all their times tables.
They learned...
Ready?
I mean, to give you an idea how radical, what a communist runs our schools in Los Angeles.
They learned survival.
They learned critical thinking skills.
They know the difference between a riot and a protest.
They know the words insurrection and coup.
Not only could I not have made that up, but I couldn't...
It wouldn't dawn on me.
What is the worst thing the head of the L.A. Teachers Union could say?
I would have predicted only half of what she said.
It's great.
It's a non-issue that they didn't go to school.
It's a phony issue.
But they got something great out of it.
They learned the difference between a riot and a protest, and they learned the words insurrection and coup.
And you still send your kids to an L.A. school?
The article is up at DennisPrager.com.
The article is up at DennisPrager.com.
She even went so far, remember this is LA Magazine, a liberal-left source.
She even went so far as to suggest darkly that, quote, learning loss, unquote, is a fake crisis marketed by shadowy purveyors of clinical and classroom assessments.
Learning loss is a fake crisis.
So you really have to ask yourself, what can teachers say that would persuade you to take your child out of school?
And my heart goes out to parents.
This is the first time in American history that parents had to battle society to raise a decent child.
The society wants to make your kid a creep, and you don't want that.
It's a terrible, terrible crisis for parents.
So one of my suggestions is if you are a grandparent, you should, and you have any money, and many grandparents do.
Many grandparents have more money than their children.
This is exactly where you should spend it.
Don't leave it in your will.
Give it now to your children to have the money to homeschool the child.
Many of you can afford it.
I'll tell you this.
If you look back and your grandchild is an a-hole, which is what they produce so often in our schools, look at the kids at Yale cursing the professors, the video on the...
The kids at Cursing Brett Weinstein at Evergreen.
Where is that?
In Washington?
Okay.
That's what the schools are producing.
It's a bargain for you to pay for your child's homeschooling.
Nerve Renew is a product that I ask to advertise because I have...
Congenitally, the tingling and numbness, in my case, feet.
Some people have it in their hands.
Between the two, I'd rather have them in my feet.
So, I'm grateful.
After many years of suffering with it, I found a podiatrist who figured out who knew what to do.
Gave me inserts.
They worked for years.
Then I found out about Nerve Renu, took Nerve Renu.
Got rid of my inserts.
Try it for two weeks for free and a one-year money-back guarantee.
TryNerveRenew.com I think this is a crisis that we haven't faced
since 9-11.
I think it's worse than 9-11 because we ran towards the danger and tried to save people, then now we're abandoning them.
Is the president going to stick with this?
It seems like the president is doubling down.
And what is shocking to me, we had a brief with Secretary Blinken.
Secretary Austin, General Milley, etc.
And there was very strong bipartisan pushback on the August 31st deadline.
In fact, some of the strongest statements pushing back on that came from my Democratic colleagues, particularly those who are veterans who've served in Afghanistan in a uniform and other parts of the world were very Forceful in telling the administration to their face that this is a disaster.
And I think there was a recognition by the administration that we can't get all of our people, let alone the thousands of SIV applicants, out.
And yet a few hours later...
The President of the United States went on TV and doubled down on the August 31st deadline, which is completely arbitrary, or let me rather say is solely intended to get us out before September 11th, 2021. And as we've discussed before, Hugh, whoever in the White House decided it would be a good idea to try and get everyone out by September 11th, 2021, and thinking that that would be some positive...

Talking about notified, I want to remind you, to the extent that it matters, to many of you it won't, which I perfectly understand.
But next Monday night, and Tuesday, begin the High Holy Days.
the high holy days.
the highest holy days of the Jewish calendar, Rosh Hashanah and then Yom Kippur ten days later.
For 15 years I've conducted services.
If you're in the L.A. area and would like to attend, just send me an email.
For information, send it to me at DennisPrager.com.
For the rest of you, for the first time ever, we are live streaming it in 4K, highly professionally.
Whether you're a Jew, a non-Jew, a Christian, an atheist, if you want to see something religious that makes sense and that will move you, I think you should consider watching it.
You can watch it on any platform.
Salem now carries it.
You can watch it on your phone.
You can watch it on a large screen.
You can watch it later because it's being recorded and available to you.
If you have kids, a lot of your kids know me.
And they don't know religion.
And I think at least parts of it would be very moving to them.
I speak a great deal during the services to explain everything.
That's at SalemNow.com or just at my website as well.
Religion gives me a great deal of inner peace.
There's something more to life than just this life.
I fight as if this is the only life, but I know it is not the only one.
Alright, let's see here.
Cleveland, Ohio.
Mike.
Hello, Mike.
Yes, Dennis, you just used the word communist to describe the L.A. teacher union president.
What is communism about saying kids learned the difference between coup and insurrection, or that they didn't lose anything?
There's nothing communistic about her statement.
The woman, I can't think of an arena of life where she would differ from the American Communist Party.
The teachers' unions, you can laugh, but it's not a good retort.
To laugh makes you look foolish, not me.
Just a note.
No, your statements are foolish.
Okay, that may be so.
I'm just talking about your laughing.
I'm not talking about your content.
When you say something completely ridiculous, of course I'm going to laugh.
What does communism have to do with what she said?
Every single position of the LAUSD is equivalent to the Communist Party's positions on any issue.
I'll give you an example, and this is in the article, that they have called for the boycotting of Israel.
Okay?
What is the...
The Communist Party wants to boycott Israel and the LAUSD, LA Unified School District does.
Do you find that to be...
What does that have to do with the woman saying the kids learned what the word...
No, no, no.
Wait, wait, wait.
You're cheating.
You asked me why I called her a communist.
I gave you another example and you skipped over it.
Oh, so you're saying that people who may have the same position as a communist make them a communist.
So during the 1930s and 40s, when communists were, like, pushing for African-American rights, that made anyone else who was pushing for African-American rights communists also, according to your thinking, right?
If that's what you think I said, then I have no response.
That's not what I said.
I said there was no difference between the Communist Party.
There were massive differences between the Communist Party and people who hated segregation.
Liberals were anti-communist.
She's not.
She's a communist.
If the word means anything, she is one.
I've never used the term...
Go on.
How do you know she's not anti-communist?
I don't know any leftist who's anti-communist.
Liberals are anti-communist.
I'm a leftist and I'm anti-communist.
Okay, now you know one.
I'm a leftist and I'm anti-communist.
Now you know one.
Then either you're a liberal or you are an anomaly.
No, I'm a leftist, and so are many leftists.
Name a prominent leftist who's anti-communist.
I don't know you.
Nobody knows you.
So you're irrelevant.
Tell me a prominent leftist that's anti-communist.
I'm sorry, I don't know all the leftists.
Yeah, that's right, my friend.
You don't know one.
You don't know one, and that's my point.
Okay, I thank you for calling.
There are no leftist anti-communists, except for Mike in Cleveland.
All right, Mike in Cleveland, there you go.
The first leftist I've ever met who's anti-communist.
So it doesn't count.
You judge a movement by the leaders of a movement.
That's why I was never a leftist.
I was a liberal much of my life.
I still am a liberal in many ways, ironically.
Every conservative is a liberal, because we're the ones who believe in racial integration.
The left is not.
We're the ones who believe in free speech.
The left is not.
The LAUSD is a communist front group.
Okay?
It's as simple as that.
They don't call themselves communists because it's the dirty word in America.
They're indistinguishable from the people who want to destroy this country from the left.
That's what the LA Unified School District is.
Teachers unions are in general.
I can't believe I'm saying it, but I'm saying it because it is true.
And it was a perfect example that my caller, Completely ignored.
Why would the LA Unified School District come out against Israel for boycotting and economically strangling Israel?
What does that have to do with teaching kids in Los Angeles?
Nothing.
But it is a radical leftist, a.k.a.
communist group.
You don't like the word communist?
Drop it.
They're a radical leftist group.
That was a very important point.
Oh, what are you talking about?
Leftists or anti-communists?
Name one.
I can't.
That was pretty much the most important moment of that little dialogue.
These are the people teaching your children.
I'm going to go back to the next one.
It's a very bad scene.
This country's in a civil war, as I said 10, 20 years ago.
You don't fight, you lose.
It is the fight for the survival of America as much as the first civil war was.
You don't have to fight, thank God, now violently, and I pray never, but you have to fight.
That's why I appreciate it.
Jen Psaki, the pressure is getting to her, questioned by Peter Doocy, a famous clip already, cut number 11. Does the president have a sense that most of the criticism is not of leaving Afghanistan, it's the way that he has ordered it to happen, by pulling the troops before getting these Americans who are now stranded?
Does he have a sense of that?
First of all, I think it's irresponsible to say Americans are stranded.
They are not.
We are committed to bringing Americans who want to come home, home.
We are in touch with them via phone, via text, via email, via any way that we can possibly reach Americans.
Jake Tapper thinks they're stranded on CNN cut number four.
Look, I understand.
That people are working long hours in the White House, the National Security Council, State Department, Pentagon, and over in Kabul to get Americans out of that country.
And I understand the White House wanting to reassure the nation that all Americans will ultimately be evacuated, but there are no doubt Americans...
Who feel stranded in Afghanistan right now?
Of course there are.
It's absurd for the White House, and it tells you something about Joe Biden.
Britt Hume was on with our friend Guy Benson on his radio show yesterday, said this is cut number one.
But anybody who ever heard him speak for any length of time could tell this guy, this was not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
And, you know, he could talk forever and was famous for it.
But you never had the sense that he was terribly smart.
And on top of that, now he's manifestly senile.
And between those two things, this is a man with very, very severe limitations, who is well too old, in my opinion, to be the President of the United States.

you Whoever in the White House decided it would be a good idea to try and get everyone out by September 11th, 2021, and thinking that that would be some positive PR win for the United States should be fired because that's a huge, huge propaganda win for the Taliban.
And now it's also put us in the practical position on the ground of being entirely dependent.
On the largesse of the Taliban to get our people out.
And I guarantee you, we're going to leave thousands of people behind.
And that's unacceptable for the United States of America.
Congressman Gallagher, I'd like to point to two lies.
The first lie is that we were obliged to leave by May 1. The Taliban broke the agreement at least as early as March when they attacked forward operating base Chapman and wounded seven Americans.
So they violated the agreement.
We're already beyond the May 1 deadline.
There is no agreement and there is no need to go.
Secondly, there's a terrorist threat.
Every American is...
We'll see you next time.
Hi, everybody.
me.
By the way, there's a call here from Chicago, Gary, that he saw someone today riding a motorcycle with no helmet, but with a mask on.
That man, if we offered dummy of the day, that man would be the recipient of that award.
No helmet on a motorcycle, but a mask.
That was good.
That was appropriate.
I have to say, that was definitely appropriate.
By the way, that was pre-recorded.
That woman's statement is a pre-recorded statement.
She's not actually here at this time saying it live to address that.
Okay, we don't need that.
Let's see here.
Got a lot of good ones.
Mike in El Segundo, California.
L.A. Teachers Union endorsed Bernie Sanders for president.
Yes, that's...
Bernie Sanders is not, shall we say, anti-communist, apropos of my caller from the...
from Cleveland.
Britt Orange...
California.
Please address California legislature's vaccine mandate bill.
I don't know what there is to address.
If it passes, it will make living in this state very difficult for the millions who have not been vaccinated.
And since the disproportionate number of those who have not been vaccinated are black and Hispanic, these people will disproportionately not be allowed into stores.
Sporting events, etc.
That will be quite something to see as the left hurts more blacks.
That's all the left does vis-a-vis blacks is hurt them in any event.
This will just be another example.
But this might be the final straw for a lot of people in determining whether they'll live in California.
The emulation of Australia, which I mentioned last hour.
Australia is now more locked down than the Soviet Union was.
I know the Soviet Union really, really well.
Having been there, knowing Russian, that was my field of study.
Except for the content of your speech privately, there was more freedom in the Soviet Union than there is today.
And most of Australia.

You know, General McMaster and Secretary Esper are blaming you for the Doha agreement.
He had some family difficulty.
And I gave Jesper a try.
And put him in there for a short period of time.
He didn't have what it takes.
The men and women, the people within the military, did not respect him.
And McMaster, all he did was like to write things and write books and complain, and he wasn't a smart person.
Just so you understand, they're complaining about the agreement that I just talked about with you, which had strong conditions.
The reason, as an example, I wanted to be out as soon as possible, but we had to get out strong with all our equipment and no death.
The reason nobody was killed in the last 18 months was because of what we did.
Beyond the agreement was because of the relationship I developed with the leaders, and in particular with Abdul.

This is the left, and we've heard this so many times, that the word is fluid for the Constitution.
Oh, it's fluid.
It changes in meaning.
So there's no real specific definition.
Well, that's not true.
The hallmark of our Constitution is not just separation of powers, but limited specific powers.
And so on the federal level, the Biden administration and the executive branch and even Congress are limited to the specific enumerated powers that are given in the United States Constitution.
Ninth and Tenth Amendment reserve all powers that are not enumerated to the states and to the people.
So that doesn't mean then that the states are just unlimited in their authority either.
And so the federal government has absolutely no authority to tell the states what to do with respect to vaccine mandates, with respect to any of these things that infringe upon our liberty and freedom.
We're no longer in a state of emergency.
The state legislatures can absolutely meet and they can.
We can determine whether or not to implement some of these things if they're even constitutional.
And there's a lot of reasons that they're not.
But that is a specifically legislative designation.
So for these executive branch officials to say, hey, we're exercising our emergency authorization, we're going to force every individual to show a vaccine passport before they can take advantage and exercise their rights with respect to going into restaurants, gyms, hotels.
I mean, all of these things.
That is a violation of the separation of powers.
Our government is not tyrannical.
They can't just decide what's best for you and me in the interest of quote-unquote public safety.
But this is where Eric, the left wants to go.
I would say that this is now on track, Peter, to be the largest airlift in US history.
And that is bringing American citizens out.
It is bringing our Afghan partners out.
It is bringing allies out.
So, no, I would not say that is anything but a success.
As the kids would say, OMG. Yeah, we have an extensive vetting process.
Sure we do.
I've been to the border, lady.
No, you don't.
No, you don't.

In terms of dedication to helping America, there's no comparison between Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
Donald Trump really, really, really wants to help America.
Joe Biden does not.
That's Biden, and that's Afghanistan, and that's the conservatives.
Now Biden...
Which we would not have if we had a Republican president.
Yes, every one of you businesses in America, you must...
*music* *music* *music* *music* Hi everybody, Dennis Prager, this is...
This is the third hour on Tuesday, hence it's the Ultimate Issues Hour.
It was a gamble when I first started the Ultimate Issues Hour.
People tune in to talk radio very often for takes on what's happening in America and the world, which of course I provide most consistently, but it was a gamble as a result of that.
I don't think anything like that does exist on national radio, generally speaking.
I'm not bragging, I'm just noting it.
It turns out, in my opinion, that it might be the most important hour that I do in the week.
I try to make every hour the most important hour.
That I mean sincerely.
But I think, as important as I think the happiness hour is, and you know my commitment to that, and the male-female hour.
If you don't get ultimate issues right, nothing makes sense.
This is the make sense of life hour.
If I had to rename the hour, it would be the make sense of life hour.
People are in a massive state of confusion.
Chaos.
Chaos reigns.
Intellectual chaos and moral chaos.
Hence the importance of this hour.
I'm going to do something this hour that I haven't done in a while and which is as directly, as clearly an attempt on my part to influence you as I ever do.
I have said often that if you had to summarize The purpose of all of my nearly 40 years of broadcasting, not to mention my writing and my lecturing, it's to show people the consequences of secularism, the completely deleterious impact of a secular society.
The chaos we see is the chaos of the death of the Judeo-Christian order.
That was what religion at its best gave the West order.
I In every area of life, there's a right, there is a wrong.
People should get married.
People should get married before having a baby.
And just a whole list of an order that existed.
You listen to your parents.
Parents were an authority.
Police were an authority.
Teachers were an authority.
God is an authority.
All of this is broken down.
All of it.
Without exception.
The only authority is the state.
The most dangerous authority of all.
So, this hour, I would like to ask you, in light of the frequency with which I speak about the benefits of a religious life, Of going to church weekly, or synagogue weekly, or Bible study in particular.
What prevents you from taking religion seriously?
That's it.
That's my question to you.
And I'll narrow it a little bit.
Do you recognize that the breakdown...
Of religion in the West leads to chaos.
And if you do, why don't you take some religion seriously?
Or at least the Bible, which is more important to me than taking a given religion seriously, is being guided by the Bible.
1-8 Prager 776-877-243-7776.
This is a two-pronged question.
Do you recognize the chaos that ensues with the death of Judeo-Christian religions in the West?
When Christianity died in Europe, we got fascism, Nazism, and communism.
Well, it's dying in the United States, and look what we're getting.
Look at the riots of last year.
Look at the woman on NPR. It's amazing how many things I have reported to you, and not just I, many talk show hosts, some folks on TV, but it is amazing how much is reported and then forgotten.
Do you remember the NPR had a woman on for an hour who wrote a book in defense of looting?
Why isn't that a perfect exemplar of the breakdown of religion in our society?
By the way, you could call if you have a child, for example, who refuses to take religion, God, Bible, seriously, and tell me why they won't.
Do you know, by the way, that I almost never spend time arguing for God's existence?
90% of the time that I make arguments with regard to God, it is not about God's existence.
It is about God's necessity.
That is far more important to me.
When you realize how necessary God is, then you'll take God seriously.
If you just believe God exists, it doesn't mean you take God seriously.
It doesn't mean a damn thing.
It's far more important to understand the necessity for the God of the Bible, that's the God I'm talking about, than for the existence of that God.
That's another big deal.
And that's what I always argue.
The new chaplain at Harvard University.
The chief chaplain, the chaplain over all chaplains, is an atheist.
Harvard's way of further reducing the significance of religion.
Harvard was founded to produce religious people.
It is now founded to produce anti-religious people.
It's almost a Babylon Bee-type joke.
Chief chaplain of Harvard, an atheist.
And his quote, the Guardian quote, that's really a winner.
We don't need God, we need each other.
What does that mean?
We're going to learn right from wrong from each other, not from God?
What a pompous notion that people can substitute for God on what's right and wrong.
People have done a really great job of it, haven't they?
So, if you know somebody, speak on their behalf.
Might be a child, might be a spouse, friend.
What stops you or someone you know from taking religion seriously?
That is the subject.
One of the rare times you could probably get in.
I advise you to call it.
It's very important.
It's the most important subject.
I mean, a lot of you are not active religiously.
So I'm not going to argue with you.
I want to know your thinking.
I want others to hear it, and then I'd like to react to it.
What stops you?
Was it a bad experience as a child with religion?
Some nun maltreated you, if you're Catholic or were Catholic?
Did you have bad experience with a religious parent?
Were you raised with no religion and never questioned your secularism?
That's what I'd like to know.
What stops you from taking this stuff seriously?
That's why I'm writing my Bible commentary, is to make the case purely through reason that this is incredibly fundamental to a good life and to a good society.
It is fundamental.
The society doesn't work without it.
We are living on the fumes of Judeo-Christian civilization.
You can run out of gas, but your car can still go for a while.
That's what we have.
We're running on the fumes.
1-8 Prager 776. I

No one wants our soldiers to go to war in perpetuity.
But I don't believe in handing our soldiers a loss.
I don't believe in doing that.
I believe that if we send our soldiers to war, we need to send them to war to win.

Many of you respect me.
Some of you don't.
But for those of you who do, And you're not religiously involved at all.
And you may be a terrific person.
That has nothing to do with anything I'm saying.
There are terrific non-religious people, obviously.
But the society will fail without its Judeo-Christian bases.
And every founder knew that, whether they were doctrinally Christian or not.
They all believed in the God of the Bible.
All of them.
Believed in a judging God, in an act of God, in an afterlife.
Anyway, what stops you, or someone you know well, from taking God and religion seriously?
Alright, let's see what you have to say here.
Jason in Chandler, Arizona.
Hello.
Hello, Dennis.
Can you hear me?
I do.
Awesome.
Well, it's great to be on your show.
Yeah, so I'll share here briefly.
I know someone, and I recently had a conversation with them about Christianity and why they lost hope in their being a God and in just their Christian values.
And this person said that they tried very hard.
To adhere to Christian values, being that they were raised this way, but because this person identifies as gay, they found that the people within Christianity were very judgmental, and he did not see eye to eye with the Christian definition of marriage between one man and one woman.
Okay, that's a very important call.
I thank you for it.
It's so ironic.
Last night I talked a very long talk with one of my nieces whom I love very much.
She's gay, married to a woman.
And she's quite active religiously, in her case as a Jew.
It would be interesting to ask her how come she is in light of the fact that Judaism has traditionally held just as Christianity, that marriage is between a man and a woman.
I presume she would say that that's just simply an aspect of the religion that she doesn't agree with and still needs a religious life.
I think that, I think, I don't want to put words in her mouth, I think that's what she would say.
I don't know anybody who agrees.
Oh, I can't say I don't know anybody.
I probably do know some people.
Most people I know have some differences with their religion.
And, look, the word Israel means struggle with God.
So if you could struggle with God, you can certainly struggle with your religion.
So to the gay individual, I would say, I don't quite understand.
There's one verse or one idea in Christianity or Judaism with which you differ, so that's it?
So you've invalidated it all?
And I would think it would behoove somebody who felt that way, well, it's really a great religion except for...
It's stance on marriage.
To inquire, well, why is that?
It's one big boo-boo.
An intellectually honest gay would have to say, I really do respect Judaism, I really do respect Christianity, really do respect Catholicism, whatever it might be, LDS, but...
I really got to confront the fact that they really do define, it really does define marriages between a man and a woman.
Now, was it wrong?
Has it been wrong in the case of Christianity for 2,000 years, in the case of Judaism for 3,000 years?
Maybe.
But I think an intellectually honest...
Religious Jew or Christian who is gay and who marries a member of the same sex I think that they would have to if they're intellectually honest say look this is not what the religion wants from me but I don't want to lead a celibate life Celibate means no marriage, by the way.
Chaste means no sex.
I don't want to lead a celibate life.
I want to be with someone.
And I have not chosen to be gay.
I think that that would be an intellectually honest approach.
I have met such gays.
Religious people who don't dismiss their religion and who just say, look, I know this is not the ideal, but I don't want to live alone.
And I would respect that person.
But you just get rid of the religion because it has defined marriage as male-female?
It's a pretty self-centered view of life.
I differ with it on this issue, so I don't need to lead a life commensurate with that religion, and it's not even important if that religion survives.
Okay, Manhattan Beach, California.
Richard, hello.
Yes, Dennis, thank you.
I appreciate you very much.
Thank you.
I have two sons.
One, they have children, 7 and 11 years old.
And they insisted that they're sending their children to public schools.
I told them that I would pay for their religious education.
Not a problem.
They attend church.
I'm sure they do some small religious activities in their home.
But I feel that I have to...
Step out.
And I don't know quite how to do it.
What does that mean, step out?
Step out.
That is to say that I'm not going to attend the sporting activities that they...

The difference was Almost—first of all, it was the opposite.
It was the exact opposite.
We knocked out ISIS. When I took in—when I took over, ISIS was all over the Middle East.

This is the left.
And we've heard this so many times that the word is fluid for the Constitution.
And so the federal government has absolutely no authority to tell the states what to do with respect to vaccine mandates, with respect to, you know, any of these things that infringe upon our liberty and freedom.
But this is where Eric is.
We'll see you next time.
Hi, everybody.
I'm Dennis Prager.
Ultimate Issues Hour, third hour every Tuesday.
What prevents you from leading a religious life?
Going to church, going to synagogue, studying the Bible, etc., etc.
So back to Richard, who, now let me review so that I know that I have it clearly.
You have offered to pay your children to send their children to Catholic school, correct?
Yes, yes.
I didn't quite follow.
Did they take you up on the offer?
Well, my own son is the only one who has children.
No, they did not take me up on my offer.
Were they raised in an active Catholic home?
Absolutely.
Going all the way back to my five siblings, everybody has attended Catholic school.
And I have a lovely son.
But, if they don't learn, the children don't learn at a very early age, the preface is...
Of any religion, Jewish or Catholic, they'll be lost as time goes on.
Right.
Generally speaking, that's true, unless for some reason they're influenced later, which happily happens, but I agree with you.
So, what is your son's objection to sending his child to a Catholic school wherein he would not even have to pay anything?
There's really no objections.
It's just that they...
They're sending their children to the public school.
They said, oh, we're watching closely.
We're involved.
I've gone through this with Sam Dennis, but in the big picture, I feel that I have to do something.
And my call to you is either I cannot stand on the sidelines and watch my grandchildren play sports, knowing that the other half of the person is being neglected.
I feel I'm in a quandary that I have to sort of protest a little bit, maybe not to attend their sports venues.
I'm just sort of lost on how I do.
Right.
It probably wouldn't be.
It's sort of a non sequitur, not attending their sports events.
Nobody will see that as a direct relation to your...
Yes.
Having troubles with...
They're not being raised in the church in any way.
Is that true?
In any way?
They don't go to church either?
No, they go to church.
Absolutely.
They go to church.
They have all the Catholics, but they just don't.
They just refuse to send their children.
Okay.
I would celebrate...
You're light years ahead of a lot of Catholic grandparents, believe me, whose kids never take their kids to church.
So are they attending the church Sunday school?
They may.
There may be a Sunday school that they attend.
Well, let me tell you something that I do with my older grandson.
My younger one is not ready yet.
He's 10, my older grandson.
And we Zoom every week.
He's in Florida.
I'm in L.A. I talk to him about the Bible.
And obviously we talk about a million other things as well, but it's a very, very bonding thing.
I would, if I were you, do what I could do positively, not do anything negatively, like boycotting the sports.
And please know that you're way ahead of a lot of people in that your son is taking...
The child to church, and you might want to join them if they live anywhere near you.
So, I have hope for your grandchild.
My worry, more than not attending Catholic school in this case, is that the kid is attending a regular school.
By the way, private or public is irrelevant.
Private or at least as...
Non-intellectually, non-morally based as public schools.
Okay.
That was an important call, too.
Daniel, in Morgantown, which one is it?
North Carolina.
What's your city?
It's Morganton.
Sorry?
Hello, Mr. Prager.
It's Morganton.
Okay, Morganton.
Great.
Great screener.
Got it right.
Thank you for calling.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
I'm a Christian, and I have two teenagers.
One of my teenagers is doing just fine and seeking the Lord.
The other one has told me recently, he's 15, but he's told me that he just doesn't know if he believes anymore.
How old is he?
He's 15.
And his questions to me yesterday were, one was, if eternity is decided, you know, your faith is decided by a book, you know, he said, why wouldn't God have just come down and, you know, said, hey, everybody, I'm God and thunderbolts and you know, said, hey, everybody, I'm God and thunderbolts and lightning.
All right.
Let me deal with the questions that your son would ask.
Anyway, every 15-year-old practically goes through this.
And my friends, relieffactor.com 800-583-84 I would like to get...
I won't do it, but I would like to devote an hour to the question, why don't you try it for three weeks if you have muscle or joint pain?
If it doesn't work in three weeks, it doesn't work.
You threw out $20.
Isn't it worth throwing out $20 to find out if you can relieve yourself of joint and muscle pain, as I have and so many have?
Please give it a try for three weeks, $19.95 plus shipping.
relieffactor.com 800-500-8384 I think this
is a crisis that we haven't faced since 9-11.
I think it's worse than 9-11 because we ran towards the danger and tried to save people.
Then now we're abandoning them.
Is the president going to stick with this?
It seems like the president is doubling down.
And what is shocking to me, we had a brief with Secretary Blinken, Secretary Austin, General Milley, etc.
And there was very strong bipartisan pushback.
On the August 31st deadline.
In fact, some of the strongest statements pushing back on that came from my Democratic colleagues, particularly those who are veterans, who've served in Afghanistan in a uniform in other parts of the world, were very forceful in telling the administration to their face that this is a disaster.
And I think there is a recognition by the administration that we can't Get all of our people, let alone the thousands of SIV applicants out.
And yet a few hours later, the President of the United States went on TV and doubled down on the August 31st deadline, which is completely arbitrary, or let me rather say...
It's solely intended to get us out before September 11, 2021. And as we've discussed before, Hugh, whoever in the White House decided it would be a good idea to try and get everyone out by September 11, 2021, and thinking that that would be some positive PR win for the United States should be fired, because that's a huge, huge propaganda win for the Taliban.

Our American soldiers of no fault of their own.
No thought of their own.
Our leadership is...
We just have bad leadership.
It's as simple as that.
And our leadership is trying to build wokesters while the rest of the world is trying to build warriors.
Because places like China, places like Russia, perhaps now even Afghanistan, obviously they don't have the resources to do so.
But these other places want to be number one, China specifically.
So while they're looking to build their...

Hour, third hour on Tuesday.
What stops you or someone you love from taking religion seriously?
And we're talking, I'm talking, not we're, I don't like the royal we, I'm talking to Daniel in Morganton, North Carolina.
His 15-year-old son who is going through atheist or agnostic moments for an entire period.
So...
Before I answer any specific, Daniel, one of the most powerful arguments, which is not a powerful argument because it's a powerful argument.
It's a powerful argument because it's true.
Ask your son, how does he know how to lead a good life?
Does he follow his heart?
And what if another person follows their heart and come to completely different decisions?
See, that's why I speak about the practicality of religion more than the theology of religion.
So anyway, please respond.
Yes, sir.
I do understand that.
That's a good point.
But, you know, my son's an intelligent young man, and of course, like a lot of people, he'd like to see some sort of proof.
And so his questions recently were, you know, one of them was, why does God regret?
And he said, I've seen where it says God regretted making Saul king, and God regretted making man.
If he knows everything, then why was he surprised?
Right.
I have an answer to that, actually.
And that is, God created a creature, only one creature, that has free will.
So God, I don't...
I am not persuaded that God knows everything people will do.
I am persuaded that God knows everything an ant will do, an antelope will do, but not necessarily humans, because we are capable of violating God's will.
An animal is not.
So I don't rest my belief in God on God's omniscience about human future.
He might, he might not.
He does live outside of time, so he may know the future.
But within this world, I find it very powerful when it says God regretted he made man on earth.
God wants us to be good, and if we turn out evil, he's disgusted.
What would your son prefer?
Oh, I knew you'd screw up.
What do I care?
I mean, that's the only alternative.
I think he's just trying to put his head around whether there is a God, obviously, and whether there's not.
Yes, I know he is.
That's right.
So that is why I personally emphasize the indispensability of God, not the existence of God.
I want you to show him what happens to society when God dies.
The utter chaos.
Does your son believe men give birth?
Secular people do.
All right.
Anyway, that's why I wrote my rational Bible.
It would be great for you to...
I know it sounds like I'm selling a book.
I don't give a damn.
Nobody writes Bible commentaries to become millionaires.
So I would study it with him.
It deals with every single subject that was just raised.
Okie doke.
Thank you very much.
Anyway, it's very common for a teenager to have this period.
In fact, it's probably good if they do.
All right, Maria in Bakersfield, California.
Hello, Maria.
Hello.
Hello.
Hi.
Hi, I'm calling to my daughter.
She's also 15. And what keeps her from trusting God, from wanting to know Him, She has a very strong attachment to a lot of, which is fine with the homosexual community, and she feels that God rejects them, that the Christian community, that Christians rejects them.
Well, some Christians do, and that's a sin.
Yes.
Yes, they do.
And so I've tried to talk to her, and personally, I can only talk for myself, and I tell her, You know, I can only tell you from myself that we're to love them.
And the one thing that I want for everyone, including them, is for them to be saved and for them to know Jesus.
And he'll fix the rest.
It's not my job to fix them.
And it's not your job.
Ask your daughter, so, for example, what bothers her?
Aside from Christians who hate gays or have antipathy toward them, or Jews, anybody, it's a sin.
These people are created in God's image every bit as much as I am, or any other heterosexual.
Okay, so that's a given.
So now comes the issue of, let's say, same-sex marriage.
So our belief, yours and mine, is that God wants men to marry women, or at least the word marriage to be used between men and women.
That's my belief.
That's your belief.
Okay.
So, it is also our belief that God wants a child to have a mother and father.
So I would ask your daughter, does that mean God hates single parents?
Okay, yeah.
Does that question make sense?
It does.
The fact that the religion wants something doesn't mean that all those who cannot or do not live it...
Are rejected by God.
But God has to provide an ideal.
There are biblical ideals.
And, you know, people, very few people live a fully ideal biblical life.
And the whole belief is that what matters, or the whole belief is...
I interrupted my own sentence.
What matters is, that's part of the whole belief sentence, that we retain the biblical ideals.
The tragedy of our time is not that people sin or violate biblical ideals.
Use that term if you don't like sin.
The tragedy is that we deny biblical ideals.
That's when a society goes off the rails.
Almost literally, because the guardrails have been removed.
That's the issue.
Are there biblical ideals?
deals?
Is there a recipe for a good life?
Turning now on the Charlie Kirk Show.
How is it possible that Joe Biden let this happen?
Was this intentional?
Did he want our enemies to have it?
It's hard to believe that incompetence could possibly let this happen.
Jake Sullivan, the highly unimpressive person who's never done anything useful in his life, says we don't have a complete picture, obviously, of where every article of defense materials has gone, but certainly a fair amount of it has fallen into the hands of the Taliban.
And obviously we don't have a sense.
That we're going to be ready to handily hand it over to us at the airport.
The Taliban now has the 26th largest air force in the world with zero pilots.
600,000 weapons, 75,000 vehicles, 200 total aircraft, and 85 billion dollars in total weapons.
110 helicopters, 60 transportation cargo airplanes, 20 light attack airplanes, and 18 intelligence reconnaissance and surveillance airplanes.
The Taliban now has more Black Hawk helicopters than Australia.
And this is all on our government.
This is all on Joe Biden, who now wants praise, who says, this was a perfect withdrawal.
Are you kidding me?
Cut 59. Jen Psaki says that the Afghanistan effort is a success.
It's on track to be the largest airlift in U.S. history.
Say that this is now on track, Peter, to be the largest airlift in U.S. history.
So and that is bringing American citizens out.
It is bringing our Afghan partners out.
It is bringing allies out.
So, no, I would not say that is anything but a success.
Anything but a success.

Don't hang up folks.
There are a few I actually would want to call me on Friday during the third hour.
There are so many important calls here.
All right, let's see here.
Steve in Queen Creek, Arizona.
Hello.
Hello, Dennis.
Thank you for taking my call.
I've actually been listening and following you on Facebook for quite some time.
And I've actually been wanting to call in about this issue because I grew up Mormon.
I grew up extremely religious.
I was all in on that religion in God and the Bible and Scripture and prayer.
And at this point in my life, I've chosen to leave my religion.
That doesn't mean that I can't still follow a lot of the principles that Scripture teaches and that I grew up learning.
And for my children especially, I'm teaching them to be kind and loving and teaching them principles of patriotism and loving country and loving family.
But the thing is, is so many religions, they have great principles, but they also have a lot of negative, which is what drew me away from it.
Give me an example of a negative.
Fear tactics.
You know, I mean, we've had a couple callers that talked about family and, you know, wanting to...
They can't force their children to come back or live the life they want, and so they...
You've been shunned?
Yeah, absolutely, by some of the members of my family.
For a while, even I think my mom had a hard time.
Well, having a hard time is one thing.
Shunning you is another.
I can't think of a more destructive thing for a religious parent to do than shun a child who has rejected their religion.
Having said that, I would say just to you, not being LDS, Personally, obviously.
My question, if I were raised Mormon, would be, is the quality of life inside the Mormon community good?
As an outsider, I think it seems to be quite good.
Non-Mormons have a great respect for Mormon family life, community life.
