So the young woman who has been on my show weekly told me going into the studio today That a friend of hers...
Well, you know what?
Why don't you give her the mic, even though it's not Thursday?
I just want this story related about my happiness book.
Okay?
This is Julie.
Yeah.
All right, here we go.
Yeah.
So, in high school, we went on a senior class trip, and one of my friends, who is coming into the show today...
She's very excited about it, to observe.
She was reading your happiness book.
And a lot of...
The other students at my high school said to her, why are you reading that guy's book?
He's a fascist, he's a this, he's a that.
And I just remember sitting there, I didn't know who you were at the time, I'm sorry to say, but I do remember that incident.
And I thought, why would my good friend be reading a book written by a fascist?
That just doesn't add up.
Thank you.
There we go.
So I'd like to tell you, my listeners, my reaction.
My reaction is pure sadness.
So I've never said this on the air.
I don't hide anything, essentially, from you, my listeners, as you well know.
As one caller so well put it, Dennis, you are transparent, which I am proud to be.
And as one of my sons said, you have no idea how difficult it is to be raised by a transparent.
It's a very funny line he said in a speech.
Through the transparent line.
But anyway, I would like to share with you my 99% of my reaction.
I have 1% something else.
But 99% is sadness.
Take my happiness book, for example.
There is, just yesterday, Alan, did you see it?
A sort of an epidemic of unhappiness among young people.
Did you send it to me?
Yeah.
Well, then you saw it.
It's hard for me to remember which he sends which I find.
Put that up again, would you?
I would like to make note of it in this instance.
And there is no doubt in my mind that my book can help a lot of young people.
It helps a lot of people of every age.
There is nowhere I've gone that somebody has not told me what an effect my book on happiness had on them.
Look, you know how the happiness hour has affected many of you, so why would it not be true for a whole book of my thoughts on happiness?
So what the left has done in my life has deprived a lot of people of things that could help them a great deal.
That is how I view it.
By the way, isn't it interesting?
Did any of them think I'm sure the answer is no.
Why would a fascist write a book on happiness?
Do you know any other fascist who's written a book on happiness?
Mind happiness.
See, what they do out of staggering fear, the left is unbelievably fearful of conservative ideas.
That's why they don't debate us.
That's why they don't want us on campuses.
That's why if you show one five-minute PragerU video at a school, the left comes down on you as if you had shown Mein Kampf.
Which, by the way, even Mein Kampf, if you taught it properly, is evil, but obviously we're good.
But in any event, that's the way they would react.
So it's just sadness.
I've lived with this my whole life.
I really do say good things.
I'm really only preoccupied with goodness.
And if the left dismisses a decent guy like me, it doesn't speak well for the left.
That's really my primary reaction.
The kids were deprived of something that could help them.
It's in the Wall Street Journal, this article, that I just made reference to.
June 10th.
What is today?
The 11th, so it's today's paper.
The internet predates the date by a day.
The pandemic's toll on teen mental health.
The CDC tried to spark a panic about COVID hospitalizations while ignoring the real crisis.
God bless these authors.
Let's see, what are their IDs?
One is a doctor, Dr. Gandhi.
An infectious disease physician and professor of medicine at UC San Francisco.
Oh, my God.
Poor Dr. Gandhi.
Oh, wow.
UC San Francisco.
What a wasteland.
Dr. Noble, the other author, is an emergency physician and director of COVID response also at UCSF, Paranasis Emergency Department.
Are there three authors?
Dr. Leslie Bienen is a public health researcher at the Oregon Health and Science University, Portland State University School of Public Health.
Oh, that person contributed.
Okay.
There is an epidemic of unhappiness.
In a country that is freer and easier going and more opportunity giving, The left has created all of the crises, all of them.
They've made up most of them.
Of course there was COVID. Was there a crisis of COVID among teenagers?
It virtually did not touch teenagers.
Everyone knows that to be true, but if you say that, YouTube may take you down.
So that's my reaction.
These kids could have had something good in their lives, a book on happiness, but they were brainwashed.
What is amazing to me, I don't know if that's accurate, what is distressing, not amazing.
If I knew that there was a book on happiness and somebody said to me, you know a fascist wrote that.
I'm trying to put myself in high school, college age.
I remember myself very well.
I see a book, Happiness is a Serious Problem.
I see on Amazon how many people say it changed their lives.
And somebody says, you know, a fascist wrote this.
So I know I would read it, because I would find it so fascinating that a fascist wrote a book on happiness.
Because it doesn't comport with my concept.
My picture of someone who's a fascist.
But they have not been taught to think.
They have been taught to respond.
Yes, sir.
No, sir.
Yes, ma'am.
No, ma'am.
Nobody says sir or ma'am.
I'm using the language of the armed forces.
They don't say sir or ma'am.
That is correct.
Alan, is that your reaction too when you think of a kid who won't read the happiness book?
It's their loss.
That's right.
The damage.
Every day, every day I bring to you the damage.
The damage done to young people by the left and to everybody else.
Here's the latest.
Look at this YouTube.
It's an amazing story.
YouTube banned Senator Ron Johnson for discussing early treatment of COVID-19.
It will come out, as everything does, that YouTube has killed a lot of people, as has Facebook, as has Twitter, and the like.
They are actually responsible for many deaths.
And, needless to say, it will not bother them.
They will not lose one minute of sleep, because power is more important.
Google's YouTube has stepped up its draconian censorship of a sitting U.S. Senator.
That Americans accept this, that publicly elected officials are shut down in their ability to communicate by the real fascists.
That's the joke.
Of course they do this.
I'm used to this because I studied everything about the left since...
Graduate school.
Stalin called Trotsky a fascist.
Trotsky, the father of Bolshevism.
The head of the Red Army.
But he opposed Stalin.
So we call him a fascist.
The leading Bolshevik on Earth.
That's what they've done then.
That's what they do today.

So, Laureen Powell Jobs, or Lauren, whatever, however she pronounces her name, she is now, according to Alex Marlowe, editor of Breitbart.com, the new George Soros.
Pumping millions and millions of dollars towards social leftist activist causes.
And so I want to be very clear.
She does not want to destroy America.
She wants it to be hers.
And it's not just her.
There is an entire network of Jeff Bezos to Zuckerberg, of these oligarchs.
That are pumping in billions of dollars.
Mark Zuckerberg put $400 million to the Center for Technology and Civic Life into this last election.
$400 million.
Jeff Bezos, with his play money, owns the Washington Post, which propagandizes you and your children through Apple News.
Thank you, Laureen Powell Jobs.
So what you have here is a technology ecosystem that has been built.
Through businesses of largely unearned wealth.
Now, some could say that Jeff Bezos earned his wealth.
I think that's probably somewhat true.
Do I think that he gamed the U.S. Postal Service?
Yes.
Do I think that he misleads the type of company he is?
He's just a server company that loses money intentionally to take over other small businesses.
But I think there's something fundamentally different about making massive sums of money In this new technology era and the ways that people made money in the early 1900s, 1950s, and 1980s.
You see, technology has led to fast, immediate wealth creation.

At this time, people need something inspiring, many things inspiring in their lives, and I have a movie for you.
The Streets Were My Father.
You can get the CD, no, I keep saying CD, you can get the DVD, or you can just stream it at SalemNow.com.
Lee Habib, my friend I've had on, has made this film.
Celebrates Father's, Father's Day is coming up.
Fatherlessness drives a lot of bad outcomes in America.
85% of young people in prison come from fatherless homes, 20 times the national average.
This is a true story.
It's a documentary about gang members who found fatherhood, if you will, not their becoming fathers themselves, but found it through finding God.
I don't see any solution outside of the God solution, just as I don't see it with the most addicts.
The higher power slash God has been the route for millions of people out of alcoholism.
But the secular fanatics who run our universities and media never make mention of it.
It's a great film.
The streets were my father.
Go to SalemNow.com.
I said secular fanatic.
I said secular fanatic.
I'll bet you you never heard the term.
Have you ever heard of a religious fanatic?
Of course.
In fact, religious is often followed by the word fanatic.
Or extremist, right?
Religious extremist.
Religious fanatic.
Isn't it amazing that on the spectrum, on the one side is religiosity, on the other side is secularism?
Isn't it amazing how you can only be too religious?
You can't be too secular.
Right?
It never occurs to me.
It's not possible.
It's like too rich or too thin.
Well, actually, the rich is a complex question, but you certainly can be too thin.
I would compare, if you will, too secular to anorexia on the spectrum, if we're going to use the metaphor.
Yep, that's the danger.
Nobody talks about being too secular.
You're guaranteed to be a fool.
Just as too religious, you're guaranteed to be a fool.
Just for the record.
1-8 Prager 776. 877-243-7776.
What does this mean?
I want to understand this.
Ron Johnson is a senator of the United States, and he is not now on YouTube.
YouTube will not...
Anything having to do with that subject.
Anything to do with COVID. Well, I repeat it.
Well, therapists only talks about therapeutics.
Tucker Carlson last night, and I salute him...
I want you to know, I watch him, or I listen to him, the recording of him later when I get ready to go to bed.
Among other things, a man has courage.
My favorite trait of all.
They truly hate him.
But without mangling what he says, it's very difficult to intellectually attack him.
He had a very, very powerful opening about the COVID vaccines and young people.
Did you see that?
I have begged people not to give it to young people.
You have no idea.
It doesn't mean that anything bad will happen, but we have no idea what will happen.
It's brand new.
Why would they take it?
In my lifetime, I never heard worse advice.
From medical authorities as take a vaccine even if you've had a virus.
Never.
There is nothing comparable in immorality and idiocy in my lifetime coming from the authorities.
It is actually, in terms of idiocy, more so than even the food pyramid which helped make Americans fat.
In the last year and a half, I have come to have contempt for the medical authorities of this country.
If the American Medical Association announced that the sun is hot, I would rethink the issue.
That is what we have come to.
Because whatever the left touches, it destroys.
The single most important thing you need to know about life.
Including you, it destroys you.
It makes you bitter.
Alienates you from your parents?
I've got to do an hour again.
We haven't done it in a while.
I've got to tell you, they say it's anecdotal, but if you see an anecdote enough, it becomes a statistic.
The number of people that I have encountered who have a child that does not speak to them is...
I wish somebody did, to the best of their ability, some sort of serious survey of the number of adult children who do not speak to a parent, and what percentage of them did it happen to in the last four years because of politics.
The left is a cult, and the first thing cults do is sever the bond of a child and parent, Among other things, severs parental authority.
They hide from parents if their child announces at school that they're the opposite sex.
And they start treating that child as the opposite sex without the parents even knowing it.
Just one of many such examples.
If you have a home If you have adult children and you get along well with them, you should get down on your heads and knees every day and thank God or thank nature or thank whatever you want to be thankful to.
It is not the norm.
That is what I have learned.
Beyond belief.

When I think about the deaths from COVID, which I've talked about from the beginning, you know that I said that the worldwide lockdown was the greatest mistake in world history.
Not the greatest evil.
People said, oh, Prager said it was the greatest evil.
I did not.
Mike said that there's a difference between mistake and evil.
It became evil.
Still not the biggest evil.
There are obviously bigger evils.
Genocide is a bigger evil.
But what we have witnessed, it's been the most sobering year for me.
That's the word, sobering.
A staggering disappointment in many of my fellow Americans.
I never thought I would say that.
The ability to brainwash half this population in a free society when there was other information available.
The ability to deprive people.
What was it?
Were you the one who told me?
Somebody told me that their doctor...
Me and my wife did.
I've got to get this story.
Refusing a patient's request for something.
I don't know if it was ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine.
There are a lot of doctors who won't give that.
So I want you to understand the morally and medically perverse world of medicine today.
Give a vaccine that has not been...
Fully tested to young people, but do not give anybody ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine and zinc, even though they've been tested for half a century.
You understand what we're supposed to believe?
Take Dr. Fauci's words as science.
If you attack him, this was really precious.
If you attack me, you're attacking science.
I don't even think Galileo would have said that.
If you're attacking me, you're attacking science.
That's how they think?
If you attack Ibram X. Kendi, a hate-filled fool at Boston University, You are attacking, not him, you're attacking blacks.
That's what the left does.
You're not attacking me.
You're attacking, and then they give the group they're in.
So he's in medicine.
You're not attacking Fauci.
You're attacking medicine.
You're not attacking Ibram X. Kendi.
You're attacking blacks.
This is normative for people on the left.
In case you had any residual respect for Anthony Fauci, that should have been it.
I'm science.
Forget the arrogance.
It's just, it's just, it's a gargantuan lie and nonsense.
Is there any conservative who had a doubt that the virus came from a lab?
Why are conservatives right on virtually every issue and the left wrong on virtually every issue?
Name me an issue where the conservatives believe something.
Oh, you'll say, well, the conservatives believe that the election was stolen.
Well, some do and some don't.
I've been agnostic from the beginning.
If you actually are intellectually honest.
There are many, many anomalies with regard to the last election.
I have not denied that Joe Biden is president.
I have not denied it or implied it for a moment.
But I did make a point that is irrefutable.
There is no moral reason why a Democrat or other leftist would not cheat if they could.
If you believe That Donald Trump is a fascist, racist, and dictator, then you are morally bound to cheat in the election.
They can't have it both ways.
Oh, we would never cheat.
That's wrong.
And Donald Trump is a dictator, fascist, racist, Ku Klux Klan-loving, Nazi-loving man.
If you believe that, you are morally bound to cheat.

So I want to get through a very important piece of news that happened.
The Pelosi Commission.
So for the last couple months, Nancy Pelosi, I think, has been intentionally slow-walking this.
I think that Nancy Pelosi has been intentionally dragging her feet for months because Nancy Pelosi wanted a commission to look into January 6th, despite the fact that every single department of law enforcement right now is looking into it.
She wanted this to be a later authorized commission so it would go into the election year of 2022 and hurt Republicans.
So she did not want this to be an overnight thing.
So she pretended as if she was negotiating with Republicans on this commission.
And the more information that we get about January 6th, the more it looks like an interruption, not an insurrection.
And I'm not supporting the smashing of windows or the assaulting of police officers.
You lay your hand on a police officer, you should go to prison for a very long time.
I'm not minimizing that.
At the same time, who killed Ashley Babbitt?
And why were there no charges against the person that fired a shot at Ashley Babbitt, who was unarmed?
I thought that was the big mantra of BLM Incorporated.
So for months now, Republicans have been...
Negotiating with Nancy Pelosi.
When I say Republicans, I mean someone who is not even a Republican, someone who voted for impeachment.
And so, the commission is supposed to be like a 9-11 style commission to look in to the January 6th incident.
But we all know how these things happen.
This would be a Mueller style counsel that would be a roaming prosecutor.

When the people on the left say something really stupid, I don't want to pile on as though they're the devil.
So when she said, have a nice weekend, we know it's because she's ignorant and it's bad as the vice president not to understand what Memorial Day is all about.

Just for the record, if you sent your child to PragerU instead of college, unless they had to learn physics or math, some of the STEM subjects, which are also being corrupted,

And have money left over for a down payment on a house.
That's exactly right.
It's one of the most common attacks on PragerU, and we're attacked a lot.
And one of it is, oh, Prager University, that reminds me of Trump University.
I've seen that a lot, right?
First of all, Prager University is free.

Surgery and public health.
Surgery and public health at Johns Hopkins.
Do you think that this man would give a course at a place that was less than sterling in its reputation?
Would he allow his name to be sullied?
They don't mention to you all the distinguished people, former prime ministers, who have given courses at PragerU.
Just for the record.
Yes, indeed.
We had a nurse.
And I wanted to take her call.
But it is what it is, ladies and gentlemen.
What is the latest from the American Psychoanalytic Association?
Diagnosis whiteness.
As malignant, parasitic-like condition.
Well...
Psychiatry's been poisoned by the left for much of its history.
There are some terrific psychiatrists.
We have one regularly on the Happiness Hour, Dr. Stephen Marmer.
But the profession is worse than useless for most people.
Do you know that when I find out, this is true for psychologists, psychiatrists, and psychoanalysts, the three groups of psychotherapists, when I find out that, let's say a 20-year-old has decided not to speak to his or her parent,
ever, my first assumption is that the idea was either suggested, Or affirmed by the psychologist.
Someone I know extremely well.
I can't say more than that.
Someone I know extremely well, one of whose children has not spoken to him for a number of years.
He has never seen his grandchildren through this child.
And did not know my views, in fact, as a liberal.
Did not know my views on the issue said that the family had attended psychotherapeutic sessions together.
The estranged, the now estranged son and this man and his wife.
And it was the psychologist in this case who this person holds primarily responsible aside from the son.
For the decision not to talk to them.
The harm that this profession has done, this is just an example.
Just remember, this started when thousands of them, what was it, called Barry Goldwater mentally unfit to be president because they were leftists.
Something you should know is a lot of this stuff is not new.
That the left ruins everything it touches was true in 1955 as much as it is in 2021. But it didn't touch everything as much as it does today.
That's the difference.
I learned men and women were basically the same.
I learned that the United States was a colonialist evil in the world, an imperialist country, in the 1970s.
I learned that Israel was the villain in the Middle East.
In the 1970s.
It's simply a matter of quantity.
The left controls more and has therefore even gotten more fanatical.
This is an amazing thing.
No permanent cure, says high-ranking psychoanalyst.
From the first words of psychoanalyst Donald Moss's journal article, On having whiteness, readers are tipped off that this will not be a normal scholarly article.
This is not a traditionally organized psychoanalytic text.
No clear path links my argument to that of my predecessors, Moss writes in the April issue of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
Whiteness is a condition one first acquires and then one has, a malignant, parasitic-like condition.
To which white people have a particular susceptibility.
The Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association. The Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
This discovery proves that he is coming back.
Obama tore this country down!
No one stood up to him!
Nobody!
My parents didn't teach me that I was a victim.
And Uncle Tom is somebody who has sold out.
I will not pretend to be a victim in this country.
I know that that makes many people on the left uncomfortable.
Most black people don't believe that other blacks can be independent, free thinkers.
When there's chaos, when there's pandemics, when there's riots, people think, where is God?
God always manages to reemerge.
This Constitution is intended for a moral and religious people.

It's to do with contract law, correct?
Right.
So there's this case, United States versus Throckmorton.
And there was a, in that opinion, the phrase fraud videates everything, which basically says we go back to square one.
And the idea of that is that if you and I enter into a contract and I approach this in bad faith and there is fraud.
When I'm signing it.
Yes.
Before, it's like a marriage contract in a Catholic faith.
If you go in as a woman, knowing that I'm never going to have children.
Yes.
And not telling your husband.

Okay, all Dennis Prager here. all Dennis Prager here.
We go to Pasadena, California.
And Ted, hello Ted.
Good morning Dennis.
Hi.
Yeah, hi.
First time caller to your program.
What an experience.
Well, welcome.
Thank you.
I wanted to comment on the last point you made in the last segment.
If I understood you correctly, you asserted that...
If a Democrat truly believes that the Trump administration was fascist and was as evil as they claimed, that Democrats would be morally bound to even resort to lies to overcome Trump and his policies.
Did I understand correctly?
Perfectly.
You understood me perfectly.
All right.
It made me think there's a moral equivalency to the experience of Dietrich Bonhoeffer in World War II. And, of course, he faced a much more severe dilemma with Hitler's policies.
But Dietrich did not so quickly adopt that position.
It is not perfectly obvious that you must resort to lies.
He confronted the dilemma of killing Hitler.
Would he support, as essentially a peace-loving Christian pastor, would he support violence against Hitler?
And that took him a while to come to.
But if you'd have asked Dietrich Pannhofer, for example, if a Christian were hiding a Jew in Berlin, would the Christian be obligated to lie?
To a Nazi who asked if he was hiding a Jew, he would of course say yes.
And I would.
By the way, again, I have said often, I didn't say it today, but I have said often, if I thought I was preventing a racist, genocidal maniac from becoming President of the United States, I would cheat.
Okay.
Yes, that's a good example.
Okay.
All right, then.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate your calling.
I love first-time callers, and I certainly love those who might differ.
I was reading during the break what this crackpot psychoanalyst wrote, but the fact...
I don't care that he wrote it.
I care about the fact that it's published in the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
Whiteness is a condition one first acquires and then one has a malignant parasitic-like condition to which white people have a particular susceptibility.
This condition is foundational generating characteristic ways of being in one's body, in one's mind, and in one's world.
Whatever the left touches, it destroys.

My other very good friend, who also does a great job at Breitbart.com, has a new book out called Breaking the News, Alex Marlowe.
He filled in for us last week.
I encourage all of you to check out that book, Breaking the News.
Alex Marlowe has been teasing this for months, saying that there is a new George Soros, saying that there's a new person on the scene that is spending just massive sums of money, almost unfathomable amounts of money.
To try and remake America in the image that they so desire.
I've been trying to get it out of Alex for months of who this person is, but he was very disciplined.
I've got to give Alex credit.
He said, nope, I am not going to tell you who this person is.

So Laureen Powell Jobs or Lauren, whatever, however she pronounces her name.
She is now, according to Alex Marlowe, editor of Breitbart.com, the new George Soros.
Mark Zuckerberg put $400 million through the Center for Technology and Civic Life into this last election.

It's the happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy hour.
Yes, it is.
Hey, everybody.
Dennis Prager here.
Every Friday, the second hour of my show is devoted to the subject of happiness because the happy make the world much better.
The unhappy make it much worse.
Original lyrics.
It's the happy, happy, happy, happy hour, my friends!
Happiness!
The great founders, the founders of this country, giants.
These were giants.
I know that we don't like using the word, but I'm not using it about small people.
You know who hate giants?
Midgets.
I don't mean this physically.
I mean it.
Morally, intellectually, etc.
That's why they're torn down by very small people.
Anyway, it is the happiness hour, and it is really important.
Happy people do make the world better.
So today's subject is...
Family life is normatively filled with problems.
I was going to say dysfunctional, but that might be too severe a word.
The purpose of this hour is to tell you that if you have some big issue in your family, welcome to the human race.
If you have no big issues in your family, thank God, every day, you dodged a bullet.
Because some of the finest people in the world have serious family problems.
I ask people about their family life whenever I meet them.
I'm not particularly good at small talk.
I'll tell you why, among other reasons.
I lose interest immediately, and then I tune out, which is not a good thing to tune out of a conversation with somebody you've just met or at whose table you're seated.
I don't have a long attention span for what I consider boring.
So I ask people about their lives.
I'll give you an example of what I ask.
I ask people, if let's say the parents have traditional American Judeo-Christian values, how many children do you have?
They give me a number, and then I ask, do they all share your values?
No one, by the way, has ever even hinted at it's none of your business.
I have never gotten it's none of your business as a response to asking people about their lives.
I think one of the reasons is they know I don't have a bad motive.
I think another reason is people like to open up about their lives.
And why shouldn't they?
And why hide it?
And so often, I will hear so often, more often than not, I hear about people who have very difficult relations with at least one of their children.
I'm not talking about their teenager.
Talking about their 30-year-old.
One of the greatest ideas I ever heard from a caller, I heard talking about difficult children.
A woman who touched my life with this comment, and I have spread it far and wide.
Dennis, I have a very troubled...
I think she used the word miserable, 35-year-old daughter.
And one day I awakened and I realized I didn't break her.
I can't fix her.
If that woman were present, I would have given her a hug.
I hug a lot of people.
I'm a hugger.
And she would have gotten a big one.
What a brilliant insight.
And it's been so helpful to so many people I've told it to.
You didn't break your child, and you can't fix your child.
If your child wants to fix him or herself, he or she, or now they, will do so.
Another point that I make about the problems of families and dysfunctionality and how normal it is, is that I consider the book of Genesis in the Bible to be a gift to humanity.
The book of Genesis is largely about families from Adam and Eve to Jacob and Joseph, and every single family in Genesis is either truly dysfunctional Or highly troubled?
Starts out with Adam and Eve.
One son kills the other.
Now, you've got to admit, compared to Adam and Eve's family, your family's doing fine.
If one of your children didn't kill the other, you're ahead of Adam and Eve.
How's that for a troubled family?
Noah?
Noah is, after Noah leaves the ark, Noah has the terrible problem of being in some way sexually humiliated by one of his sons.
That's pretty severe.
Of course, we jump to Jacob, the third of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob.
And his favorite son, first of all, the fact that he had a favorite son was a terrible indictment of his fathering abilities.
If you have a favorite child, you have a favorite child.
But to show it?
That's very damaging.
And what do the siblings do?
They throw him in a pit to die, or sell him to be a slave.
So, it's a pretty difficult world out there for children.
I mean, I could go on, obviously.
Do you know what happens to Lot?
Lot survives the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
This is Abraham's, what is it, his cousin?
Nephew.
Nephew, right, his nephew.
And the daughters of Lot.
First of all, he was prepared to give his daughters over to guys at the door who wanted to rape the men who were visiting.
So he said, no, don't take the men.
My daughters are virgins.
Take them and rape them.
This is actually in there.
How would you feel if you were Lot's daughter?
One of the reasons I love the Torah is its honesty.
The Torah of the first five books, it's what I'm writing my commentary on.
And Deuteronomy, the third of my five volumes, the fifth of the five books, is coming out shortly.
And I would ask you to help me get the word out, it's the best book ever written, and help you with your life by pre-ordering it at Amazon.
We're getting it when it comes out of Costco.
That Costco ordered 25,000 copies of the commentary on Deuteronomy?
It's one of the few bright lights at this moment.
Thank you.
Thumbs up is right.
Double.
Double thumbs up.
Thank you.
I mean, the point is, and I don't have to go on, there's...
A dysfunctional family in almost every chapter in Genesis.
This is, I believe, God's way, if you prefer Moses' way, if you prefer somebody's way, of conveying to you that that is the norm.
If you have a happy and loving relationship with your parents, your children, your siblings, you are Probably an outlier.
There are many who do, but it is not the norm.
That is the subject and the message of this Happiness Hour.
It's very important.
That way you can celebrate the good that you have in your life and in your family, and not walk around thinking, woe unto me.
When it's in fact something normative to the human condition.
I will take your calls about families and their problems and how normal it is.

Voter photo IDs are the rule in Europe and elsewhere is the title of the piece.
It's up on LarryElder.com.
Please welcome back to the program John Lott, founder and president of the Crime Prevention Research Center.
CrimeResearch.org is the website.
John, thank you so much for coming on.
I appreciate it.
Great to talk to you.
John, I read your piece.
One of the things that Eric Holder once said, the former AG, is that photo ID, requiring photo ID, is an example of, quote, pernicious racism, end of quote.
Right.
Well, I mean, there's all sorts of hyperbole that's being thrown around just a couple weeks ago.
The New York Times was claiming that the Republicans were becoming anti-democratic and authoritarian.
And one of their two main proofs for that was that the types of voter laws requiring IDs that Republicans and state legislatures were trying to push through.
You know, I guess my response is if requiring photo IDs is proof of an authoritarian, anti-democratic tendency...
Then Sweden is anti-democratic.
France is anti-democratic.
You know, essentially all of Europe is anti-democratic.
You point out in your article that of the 47 nations surveyed, only one does not require government-issued photo ID to vote, and that's UK. And even there, they're mandatory in Northern Ireland because of the fraud that they've experienced in the past.

you you you you I'm almost speechless because after listening to your piece about Fauci's testimony, I went and read Nicholas Wade's memo, which I was remiss in not reading.
And I was just flabbergasted.
Look, I knew, and I said all last year, that it was possible this was an escape from a lab because the Chinese do billions and billions of dollars of all kinds of bio-research.
We know their safety protocols are lousy.
We know they don't have any scruples about doing gain-of-function research, all the stuff we sweat over.
They don't care about any of that.
So, you know, you knew it was a possibility.
But when I went back and read...
I'm sure you've read it.
It's meticulously reported, and the guy ought to get a Pulitzer Prize.
But one of the things he says in there is that Dr. Xi, who is the Chinese virologist who did the research, actually set out in the grant application that Xi was going to do gain-of-function research.
Here's a quote from Wade's piece.
He says, Dr. Xi set out to create a novel coronavirus with the highest possible infectivity for human cells.
And she got the grant from the Echo Health Alliance, the leader of which, I didn't know this either, was the guy who organized the first letter in February of 2020 from 27 virologists which supposedly debunked the lab theory.
Yep.
And so, Jim...
The point is that I also had Dr. Fauci on the show.
He denied it.
I think the credibility is shattered because people don't know when to say, I don't know.
There's no way Dr. Fauci knows what the grants say.
He hasn't read that sub-grant, but he should know, and he does apparently know now.

The Happiness Hour, second hour every Friday today, is about the...
It is normal to have problems in families.
I say this with no joy.
And while I had, I am very, very lucky to say at this time I do not.
But I have had.
And most people do.
And when you know that something, even awful, is normal, look, to be dramatic but not overly, everybody will die.
That's sad.
But the fact that you know everybody will die, that it is normal to die.
It's not normal to die at 20, but it is normal to die.
That is calming for people.
Right?
Of course.
So, the fact that something is more normal than abnormal does provide a little calm in the suffering that people will have.
When you have family issues, you really do think you're really an outlier.
Oh my God, I can't believe it.
All these other happy families.
You know what I've often thought about in that regard?
People do think this.
Oh, all those happy families.
That is so normal for people to think about.
I have a chapter on that in my happiness book.
Happiness is a serious problem.
Do an experiment.
The next time you're on a highway, freeway, through a turnpike, and you see drivers coming, let's say, on the other side, and you look in the car, tell me if you think, wow, that guy or that woman got a lot of problems.
Or do you think, they don't have all that many problems.
The assumption when you meet another person and you know nothing?
Is that life is pretty okay for them.
If your life is in some way, forgive me, screwed up.
The assumption is they're doing great.
In this regard, and I remember writing this in my happiness book, in this regard, it's the only service Hollywood stars actually provide.
They've become a very foolish and destructive group of human beings, Hollywood stars.
I'm thinking of Robert De Niro, for example.
A true idiot.
A destructive idiot.
But they do, many of them provide a service.
Not deliberately, but they do.
Because you see how dysfunctional so many Hollywood stars' lives are.
Alienation from parents, alienation from children, depression, etc.
They're not outliers.
They're not having these problems because they are Hollywood stars.
They're having these problems because they are human beings.
That's what you need to realize.
Okay, let me take your calls here.
And Mike in Minneapolis, hello.
Hello, Dennis.
Thank you.
You know, I went through as a kid years of therapy, and in that process, you learn to, I think, blame others for your problems.
And maybe it was because of listening to you.
I don't remember anything specific, but when you talk about you love people, but you hate humanity, it made me realize that my anger towards my parents Maybe it was when I became a parent.
A parent tries, or most parents try to do good for their children.
My parents made lots of mistakes and lots for me to be angry about.
But they did it out of love.
And I finally came to the conclusion that that was their motivation.
Not to be hurtful, not to undermine me, but because they thought they were doing what was right.
And therefore, I forgave them for whatever perceived offenses they put on me, and I have a wonderful relationship, and they're both in their 80s.
That's beautiful.
That is a truly beautiful story.
I'm so happy I took your call.
I infer from what you said you did not develop this attitude from your therapy sessions.
No.
No, I mean, my therapist was a wonderful guy, liked him a lot, but never really offering me, I guess I like concrete things.
Right, yes, he listens.
Yeah, you can emote for so long.
Right.
Now what do we do?
How do we fix it?
And really, what you taught me is it's up to me to choose how I view the world, how I view life.
That's right.
Everything is a choice.
It's attitude.
That's right, that's right.
Bless you.
Good.
You know, apropos of something that I mentioned at the very opening of the show, which many of you may have not heard.
So, the woman I've dubbed the Harvard heretic, who I have on the show every Thursday during her break before she goes back to Harvard.
Told me a story coming into the studio today that in high school, before she really knew who I was, she remembers a kid reading my book on happiness.
And others in the high school said, why would you read that?
The author was a fascist.
So I'm thinking this about the help that the happiness hour and male-female hour brings to people.
But because they have been told that I'm a right-winger, they won't listen and won't get that benefit.
It's sad.

The Pelosi Commission.
So for the last couple months, Nancy Pelosi, I think, has been intentionally slow-walking this.
I think that Nancy Pelosi has been intentionally dragging her feet for months because Nancy Pelosi wanted a commission.
To look into January 6th, despite the fact that every single department of law enforcement right now is looking into it, she wanted this to be a later authorized commission so it would go into the election year of 2022 and hurt Republicans.
So she did not want this to be an overnight thing.

I thought that was the big mantra of BLM Incorporated.
So for months now, Republicans have been Negotiating with Nancy Pelosi.
When I say Republicans, I mean someone who is not even a Republican, someone who voted for impeachment.

Hey folks, I'm talking to Kevin McCullough.
Tell us, what did you make of Kamala Harris when she posted, have a great weekend or something like that?
The way I take it sometimes.
I don't want to be like the left.
When the people on the left say something really stupid, I don't want to pile on as though they're the devil.
So when she said, have a nice weekend, we know it's because she's ignorant and it's bad as the vice president not to understand what Memorial Day is all about.
But I kind of feel like I almost don't know what I what do I expect from these people that she's never given a thought to Memorial Day, I don't think.
No, I don't think so.
And I think that she's a pragmatist in almost every area of life.
I think she takes opportunities to advance herself.
You know, even on this one post, it was a picture.
It was a selfie.
And she was with a selfie saying, enjoy a long weekend.
Whereas my wife, who has a brother who is in forward duty right now, I have two deceased grandfathers who were World War II Navy.
I've got four uncles who were in Vietnam and Korea.
I've got a couple of cousins that served in Iraq.
We view this weekend much differently than someone like Kamala, who I don't think ever served, has any desire to know much about service.
Whether it was flippant or whether it was sarcastic or whether it was intended to be just thoughtless, I think any of those things are problematic because what you're talking about is a nation that really does pay respect to its fallen war dead and says, we are only free today because of what you did in that moment.
We are only free today.
We are only free today.

This is the Happiness Hour on the Dennis Prager Show, and the subject is the ubiquity and the normalcy of a troubled family.
Don't walk around thinking you're unique.
Because of your family troubles.
Your family troubles may be somewhat unique, although the odds are they're not.
What was it that Tolstoy said?
Didn't he begin, what was it, Anna Karenina?
I think he began Anna Karenina with every happy family is happy in the same way, and every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.
By the way, that is an argument for reading great literature.
There's wisdom in the great literature.
The fact that Tolstoy was white is not really relevant.
It's only relevant at the universities of the United States and the high schools of the United States, which makes sending your children there a very troubling proposition.
They will become racist and stupid if they take their teachers seriously, and if they don't, why are they there?
It's a very tough issue, but sending your child to any school in the United States, with a few exceptions, is to invite, apropos of my topic, family troubles.
If you have rational values, not even Judeo-Christian, just rational values, you will have an alienated child in many cases if they take what they learn at school seriously.
Anyway, it is the ubiquity of family troubles that is the subject of this hour.
1-8 Prager 776. The last caller raised a very interesting issue that I have broached on occasion, and that is how many therapists actually damage their clients, and how many actually help.
I think more damage than help.
I don't dismiss all therapy.
Some is really good.
But it is very hard to find a good therapist.
One way guideline, apropos of what the last caller said, one guideline I have long offered is, if after six months, I'm just picking an arbitrary time period, If after six months you are still blaming others for your unhappiness, your therapist is probably damaging you.
I remember, I'll be very open here, I had therapy for six months.
And I'm very happy I did, by the way.
I was in my 20s, in my early 30s, actually.
And he was a great man.
He was a great man, I must say.
So I was doing what most everybody does, speaking about issues that I had with my parents when I was younger.
And I'll never forget something he said to me.
Dennis, I'm just saying, oh, and he had a thick German accent.
I thought I was with Freud.

Can you discuss that, please?
It's to do with contract law, correct?
Right.
So there's this case, United States versus Throckmorton, and there was a, in that opinion, the phrase fraud videates everything, which basically says we go back to square one.
And the idea of that is that if you and I enter into a contract and I approach this in bad faith and there is fraud...
When I'm signing it.
Yes, before...
It's like a marriage contract.
Exactly.
If you go in as a woman, knowing that I'm never going to have children, and not telling your husband, that is a reason to nullify the wedding as if it never actually occurred.
So people are saying...
As if it never occurred.
So now they're saying, well, it applies to the election, right?

So I want to get through a very important piece of news that happened.
The Pelosi Commission.
So for the last couple months, Nancy Pelosi, I think, has been intentionally slow-walking this.
So she pretended as if she was negotiating with Republicans on this commission.
And the more information that we get about January 6th, the more it looks like an interruption, not an insurrection.
I'm not supporting the smashing of windows or the assaulting of police officers.
This would be a Mueller-style counsel that would be a roaming prosecutor.
Keep up.
This would be a good idea.
This would be a good idea.
This would be a good idea.

You can have that, the Ultimate Issues Hour, the male-female hour of decades.
It's all at PragerTopia, every hour without commercial.
It's one of the great gifts you can give people.
It's a great Father's Day gift.
It is an accurate guess because 50 times 20 is 1,000.
I don't get much credit for that, I have to admit.
Now, you know what I get credit for?
Let me think of what I get credit for.
Because men give themselves credit all the time.
It's a hilarious male-female difference.
Do you know that I look at myself from outside myself, and I always have.
It's just a built-in trait.
I realized the other day, this is going to make people hopefully laugh with me, but if you laugh at me, I can handle it.
So I parked my car.
I have an SUV, and I parked my car.
I got out of the car.
It was in the parking lot.
And I realized I had perfectly parked it between the lines of the right and the lines on the left.
And I actually thought, wow, what a job.
And then I thought, that is hilarious.
I am thinking well of myself for parking between the lines.
And then I thought again, no woman would do that.
There is not a female on, no.
Well, that was good.
He's fast, Sean.
That was obnoxiously fast.
I said, what?
Park between the lines?
That was such sexism in my ears, it gives me an earache.
No, no woman would compliment herself, gee, what a great parking job.
Women basically spend their time finding their flaws, and I might add, their husband's flaws.
Our flaw finders.
Yes, in the beginning, God created man and critic.
That is from the late, great Bruce Hershenson.
All right, everybody.
And let's go to Ellen in Los Angeles.
Hello, Ellen.
Hello, Ellen.
Huh.
Is there a problem on our end?
Maybe she's parking.
You know what?
On a scale of 1 to 10, Sean, on the funny scale, you're about at 8. It's pretty damn high.
Well, anyway, it says here, the screener who summarizes calls it, I'm a therapist.
Why do you say therapy is useless?
Ellen in Los Angeles, this is going to make your weekend.
I've never said therapy is useless.
I have in fact said good therapy is very helpful.
I have said most therapists are useless, as are most teachers, as are most everything in every profession, because the stupid have risen to the top, and because the left has poisoned psychotherapy, as it has everything else.
But a good therapist is worth his or her weight in gold.
I just said that I had had therapy in my 30s.
Albeit six months, but nevertheless, they were very valuable six months.
So I hope you didn't say that to the screener, but our screeners are pretty, pretty accurate.
All righty, everybody.
Let's go to more call.
Benjamin in Gainesville, Florida.
Hello.
Hi, Mr. Prager.
So I'll be quick seeing the other calls.
So I had a realization today.
I was thinking, you know, one problem in families is parents get angry at small children, which doesn't seem to make sense because children are rather innocent.
But then I realized the reason parents get angry at small children is because my view is that they love their children so much they just find it too painful to see their children's ugly, sinful side.
And so I think just as we need a tragic view of life to be happy, people should adopt the tragic view of their children and not have too high expectations for their...
So I assume you're speaking autobiographically, right?
Well, I mean, I don't have children.
No, no, no.
About the way your parents got angry at you.
Well, sure.
I think most parents...
Right.
Well, by the way, I think parents who never get angry at their children, either their child is perfect, which is a problem, or the parent is not real.
It's a very bad thing if parents never get angry at a child.
Right.
Oh, yeah, I guess.
I mean, I'm not trying to attack here.
No, no, I'm not.
I'm reacting only to what you said.
I'm not defensive on the part of parents.
I was a child like everybody else and a parent.
Not like everybody else, but I was certainly a child.
And sometimes my parents got angry for no good reason.
But if my parents never got angry at me, how would I know?
That I had done something wrong.
In a calm voice, they would say something that's not a good idea.
And I got angry at my kids on occasion, and it was a good thing that I did.
Now, the trick, like everything else, is to do it right.
But there's no doing it right.
The parental role is built in to be a problem to a child.
It is virtually built in.
If your parents are perfect, which is almost never the case, but let's say you think your parents are perfect, even that's a problem, because how can you live up to perfection when you become a parent?
So unless your parents were malicious and psychopathological, you've got to give them a lot of slack.
We shall return.

So, Laureen Powell Jobs, or Lauren, whatever, however she pronounces her name, she is now, according to Alex Marlowe, editor of Breitbart.com, the new George Soros, pumping millions and millions of dollars towards social leftist activist causes.
And so I want to be very clear, she does not want to destroy America.
She wants it to be hers.
And it's not just her.
There is an entire network of Jeff Bezos to Zuckerberg of these oligarchs that are pumping in billions of dollars.
Mark Zuckerberg put $400 million to the Center for Technology and Civic Life into this last election.
$400 million.
Jeff Bezos, with his play money, owns the Washington Post, which propagandizes you and your children through Apple News.
Thank you, Laureen Powell Jobs.
So what you have here is a technology ecosystem that has been built through businesses of largely unearned wealth.

I think that's probably somewhat true.
Do I think that he gamed the U.S. Postal Service?
Yes.
Do I think that he misleads the type of company he is?
He's just a server company.
That loses money intentionally to take over other small businesses.
But I think there's something fundamentally different about making massive sums of money in this new technology era and the ways that people made money in the early 1900s, 1950s, and 1980s.
You see, technology has led to fast, immediate wealth creation.

I don't mean to laugh.
I think it'll be a shoo-in.
He'll walk back into the White House if we do our job when it comes to election integrity.
But to those who are saying he can be president now, that he can come back and he can take over the last three and a half years of Biden's term, there is no...
There's no process.
There's no entity.
It's not the Supreme Court.
It's not a magic electoral...
There is no functional scenario under which that happens, is there, Jenna?
Correct.
And it is very unfortunate, and I have to preface this by saying I understand the utter frustration and the injustice of it all, and I am just as mad as everyone else.
But what we have to understand is that we are a nation of rules and our supreme law of the land is the U.S. Constitution.
And because the Constitution provides that the Electoral College is our mechanism of selecting the president, the Electoral College voted, that was certified legitimately.
So when you have a sitting president and his name right now is Joe Biden, then the only way to remove a sitting president is through the impeachment and conviction process.
And even if that happened to Joe Biden, which we know politically it won't, even if...
Hypothetical theory land.
That happened.
The line of succession then, under the 25th Amendment, would trigger.
And so there's no scenario by which you take an outside person and put someone else in.

This is the hour, ladies and gentlemen.
gentlemen, you set the agenda, what is there on your mind, but first...
Alrighty, everybody, that's great, it's a great intro.
Hello.
Whatever's on your mind about you, about me, about life, about death, about, needless to say, audio equipment, photography equipment, cigars, fountain pens, and music, classical music.
I have broadened my musical tastes, by the way, in the course of the last few years.
Just for the record.
I listen to classical now only, and I'm not being cute, 90% of the time.
10% of the time I listen to non-classical.
On my super-duper, super-duper audio system.
My audio system is so good that there is no way I could describe how good it is to you.
You have to hear it.
And one of my joys in life...
Is taking visitors into my listening room and saying, what is your favorite music?
I don't put on my favorite music.
I put on their favorite music.
So, for example, when Sean listened, he only wanted punk rock.
But it sounded amazing.
That was very good.
It would sound amazing.
I would be, if somebody loved punk rock, I would put it on, I would stream it, and they would listen.
Alright, I won't go into this in depth, I just want to say that I am saddened by the fact that what was utterly common when I was a kid is unbelievably rare today, that people will have an audio system.
When I was in college, I would say to my male friends, hey, you've got to hear these new speakers I got.
And they'd say, oh, you think you've got new speakers?
You've got to hear my new preamp.
And now those words mean nothing to anyone.
People are all listening through earbuds, through $89 earbuds.
And yes, that's right, to constrained MP3 files, compressed files.
And it's a puzzle to me that people would not want to hear music they love as beautifully as they could hear it.
It is just, it goes to a lot of issues.
Anyway, welcome.
This is the hour you set the agenda, whatever is on your mind.
And as you will note during the course of this hour, we really run the gamut of issues.
All right.
Let me go to see and see what we have here.
All right.
Woodland Hills, California.
Molly.
Hello, Molly.
Hi, Dennis.
How are you?
Okay.
So nice talking to you.
I believe that I'm calling to ask you what we can do.
Like the middle class, I mean the middle-aged parents here.
You know, we're all aware what's going on, you know.
We're all scared for our kids.
I talk to my kids.
I talk to their friends and make them aware.
And, you know, we feel powerless, really.
I mean, we don't feel, I don't feel like I can do, I don't know what else we can do.
And we don't have the energy, as young people do, you know, to go out there in the street and, you know, pick it with signs and stuff.
And they're scared of their minds, you know, to do that because they don't want to get an F. In college or whatever, you know, and for example, I was listening yesterday, the other day, this woman in New York,
Carmel, that she was, you know, she stood up to the Board of Education and even Newsmax had her on and they called the Board of Education and they got no response and she did everything she could and she got no response.
So there's, you know, there's nothing that...
We do, but we have no power.
You're specifically referring to the schooling issue?
Yes.
So yes, that's right.
I agree with you.
That is why I wrote my column this week.
The best thing that people could do to save this country and their families and their children's ability to think clearly is to take their kids out of most schools.
That's the best thing they could do.
It's so radical sounding that I understand people won't do it.
They're afraid about homeschooling.
And I have suggestions on that.
First of all, once you start it, you'll realize that it is not as intimidating as you thought it was.
The issue is home income because if one parent devotes more time to the schooling of the child and they don't have their full income, I understand that's an issue.
I would ask grandparents to make up the difference, or at least to help their children homeschool their children.
Many parents have more money than their children.
What are you using that money for?
To put it in your will when it's too late?
Spend it now on your grandchildren Take your grandchild out of the cesspool known as the local school, private or public.
There's no difference.
There's no difference now in elementary, high school, or college.
It used to be colleges.
The poison, the sickness is permeated down below.
Do you really want your grandchild to attend Drag Queen?
What is it?
I always forget the word.
Sorry?
Story hour.
I always think study hour.
My brain comes up with the name study, but the word is story.
Drug queen, drag queen story hour.
Really, that's really what you want your kid to do.
You want your kid to learn that America was founded in order to preserve slavery.
You want to learn that America is systemically racist.
You want to learn that black people are different from white people.
Because of skin color?
Is that what you want?
Of course it isn't.
So, parents are in a massive, massive degree of denial.
It won't happen to my kid.
Why not?
I don't understand why you think it won't happen to your kid.
And if it does happen to your kid, they will end up having contempt for you.
Now, people say, why don't you fight the school board?
Good.
If you do, more power to you.
That's fine.
Ava, Brynmore, Pennsylvania.
Hello.
Hello?
Hello.
Hi.
Can you hear me?
I do.
Okay.
So...
I recently finished my eighth grade year, and I read your book on happiness, called Happiness is a Serious Problem, and I thought that a lot of it was stuff that other people should know, because I thought it was very important.
So we were doing these essays, these argumentative essays in school, and I decided to do it about your book.
So I argued that...
Human nature prohibits happiness and I used examples from your book like and I talked about the victim mentality and like comparing yourself to others and I made sure to use your name a lot so that people would associate what I was saying with you and it went really well and I just thought you would want to know that.
I certainly did not know the punchline.
I thought you might say I used your name a lot and And they asked me to never talk about it again.
No, they did not.
They seemed to really like a lot of the stuff I said.
And since a lot of the stuff I said was based off of what you said...
Alright, so I have a question for you.
How old are you?
I am 14. How did you get this mature?
I don't know.
I have a very smart mother.
Interesting.
I didn't know what you would answer.
Are you at a regular public school or private school?
I go to a public school.
In Brynmore, Pennsylvania?
Yes.
And is the school indoctrinating or educating?
Well, they do push a somewhat leftist agenda occasionally, but for now they are...
Not doing too much against anything like that, but I am going to a Christian school next year, so I won't be available if they are indoctrinating in that school anyway.
I have one more question for you.

That famous promo code.
Pound 250, say Dennis Prager.
Also, major discount off your first month with my name.
Pound 250, Dennis Prager.
Save 800 bucks a year.
Okay, everybody.
This is the hour.
You call in on whatever you want.
So I'm speaking to a 14-year-old, Ava, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
She gave a report on my happiness book.
Sounded to all of you, not just me.
As particularly mature, a word that is no longer used and is one of the great words.
So, I wanted to understand what prompted this in you to think this deeply and speak this eloquently at your age.
So, you first thing said you have a smart mother, correct?
Yes.
So, forgive me, but is there a dad in your life?
Yes, he is in my life.
I learned a lot of this stuff from my mother, though.
All right, fair enough.
Yeah.
Okay, fair enough.
Now, is your home a religious home?
Yes.
We weren't always, like, incredibly religious, but recently we've been, like, adopting religion more and more.
We have all your books.
We have Genesis and Exodus, your versions of it.
We've been reading all those.
We've been going to church more often.
We've been praying every day.
Do you have siblings?
Yes, I have a sister.
How old is she?
She is 12. And does she think like you do?
I don't know.
She hasn't done anything like this.
She's incredibly smart, but I don't know if she thinks the same way as I do.
Well, I hope we meet one day.
I hope to meet you, too.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Whenever I speak to a mature young person, mature itself almost deserves a What does that mean?
Well, the first thing it means, in my opinion, is that you have overcome to a certain degree, it's very hard to completely overcome narcissism.
Narcissism is the opposite of maturity.
The ability to think clearly on subjects outside of yourself.
Those are indices of maturity.
The left raises narcissists.
You are the center of your universe.
However you feel, that is what the universe is.
What you feel.
I was raised to believe that what I feel is important to me.
And pretty much nobody else.
It was a great lesson.
I can't tell you how wonderful that was.
I'll tell you the story.
I tell it about once a year on the radio.
I tell it in speeches often.
It is truly...
If I had to point to five life-changing events in my life, this was one of them.
In fourth grade, I went to a religious Jewish school known as a yeshiva.
And half the day was in Hebrew, religious subjects, half the day in English, secular subjects.
So during one of the Hebrew subjects, one of the rabbis announced, okay, it is now time for the afternoon prayers.
Mincha, as they're called.
And I went over to him.
He was from Eastern Europe.
And quite orthodox, bearded man.
And very politely, I had chutzpah, but I never had disrespect.
It's not the same thing.
Chutzpah is not the same as disrespect.
But I always had chutzpah.
I walked over and I said, Rabbi, forgive me, but I'm not in the mood for the afternoon prayers.
And it is one of the only memories I have from fourth grade.
And it's very vivid.
It was clear to me that he understood what I said, but had never heard that in his life.
You're not in the mood to pray.
So he thought for a moment, looked up, stroked his beard, and said, Dennis Prager is not in the mood for the afternoon prayers?
So what?
And that was the probably greatest lesson in elementary school.
So what?
A man said, so what, to how I felt.
That was great.
And I remember thinking, okay, he's right.
So what?
Who cares how I feel?
It's time for the afternoon prayers.
Do the damn afternoon prayers and end the issue.
How often are kids told so what to their feelings?
Never.
Their feelings are cherished.
They're probably given trophies just like they are given participation trophies.
If I'd have been given a Trophy for participating in sports?
I would have thought I had entered the Twilight Zone.
You got a trophy when you won.
How's that for white supremacist thinking?
You only get trophies for winning.
Right?
That's the ultimate in white supremacist thought.
Because if everybody gets a trophy, nobody gets a trophy.
Right?
It's like inflation.
You have deflated the value of trophies.
Like when you print hundreds of billions of excess dollars that you have not paid for, you have deflated the worth of the dollar.
we have deflated the worth of the trophy.
So that is an extended soliloquy on the notion of maturity.
Back in a moment. Back in a moment.
God always manages to re-emerge.
This Constitution is intended for a moral and religious people.
It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other.

It's like a marriage contract in a Catholic faith.

That is a reason to nullify the wedding as if it never actually occurred.

So I want to get through a very important piece of news that happened.
The Pelosi Commission.
So for the last couple months, Nancy Pelosi, I think, has been intentionally slow-walking this.
Keep up.
This would be a good one.
This would be a good one.
So what?
Two of the most powerful words in the English language.
When appropriately used, it is very clarifying.
You feel X, so what?
Yes, indeed.
Alright, this is the hour you raise whatever is on your mind.
And let's go to Appomattox, Virginia.
Just the other day I was saying, you know, we haven't had a call from Appomattox in a while.
Look at that.
I tell you.
Hello, Pat.
Hi.
It's your lucky day.
That was very witty.
That was good.
It's my lucky day, an Appomattox call.
Exactly.
Yes.
I hope I dig it's even luckier than that, but nevertheless.
I love you.
You love me?
I'm very touched.
I am.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Did you call to tell me you love me or something else as well?
Oh, I want to tell you I love you, but I just want to tell you that.
Because you're committed to truth.
I am.
I thought you wanted to mention something about homeschooling.
I am.
I want to tell you that first.
Alright, fair enough.
I accept number one, and let's go to number two.
Thank you.
Okay, so number two is that I just want to share my homeschooling adventure, because since homeschooling is a hot issue right now, because you've been pushing it, you're encouraging people to do it.
That's right, very much.
Yes.
And my background a little bit, and I am an immigrant from Burma, and I'm now a grateful American.
By the way, let me just say, I can't believe it.
Because the other thing I was telling Sean is, We haven't heard from a caller in Appomattox, and very few Burmese have been calling in.
So, it's truly amazing that you would call the combination Appomattox and Burma.
By the way, let me ask you a question.
Do you call your country of origin Burma or Myanmar?
He doesn't recognize Burma.
No, no.
I don't care.
I'm asking you.
What do you call it?
I call Burma.
Yeah, good.
I am an American, so I call it Burma.
Yes.
Nana, you are the ideal immigrant.
God bless you for coming.
All right, go ahead.
Well, so, you know, I didn't know I was going to homeschool.
school we were going to put our son into private school when we were thinking about school choice and uh but when i was reading about it's never too uh early to learn um for children and i found out that it was a christian book um you are to teach your children when you're sitting when you're lying down when you walk by correct you're right And you know, that's what's in the Bible.
And I said, well, I can't do that if I send my child away.
And so, okay, and then I also met a homeschool mom in my neighborhood.
And the children, you know, like listen to her and they love her, which was the two combination I didn't know exist.
And, you know, you either, to me, according to my experience, you either love your parents or you're scared to death of them.
And then you listen to them.
But you listen to them.
But anyway...
So I said, maybe I'll give it a try to homeschooling.
And once I started out, it wasn't very difficult, like you said.
Good.
All right.
Let me let you go on that.
God bless you.
That's what I wanted people to hear.
They're intimidated with regard to homeschooling.
Like, their whole life will change.
They won't be able to do anything but homeschool their child.
And it is not the case.
Homeschooling demands as much time from you, the parent, as you want to put into it.
So, thank you and God bless you.
Anyway, look, the truth is, the gamble that you are engaged in by sending your child to a normal school is so great that later on you would wish That you had made the sacrifice of homeschooling for homeschooling.
All right!
Paul in Columbus, Ohio.
Hello.
Hello.
Dennis, I've never heard you weigh in on the big debate between compact discs and records, vinyl recordings for music.
I like CDs, and I think they produce great music, but my friends who are into vinyl say that when a Record is, especially for an old group that's turned into a CD, they compress a lot of the frequencies, and you're actually missing a lot of the music when you play a CD that originally was done in the studio on the record.
Yeah, I'm a CD fan.
I appreciate how great vinyl is, records.
By the way, a lot of kids are now collecting records, which cracks me up.
My grandson loves playing records with a needle.
That's the last thing I expected.
I mean, you know, soon he'll have...
It has a warmth.
Yes, it does.
What will he now...
What could kids revert to?
That would be funny.
All right, I'll tell you in a moment.

Hey folks, I'm talking to Kevin McCullough.
Tell us, what did you make of Kamala Harris when she posted, have a great weekend or something like that?
The way I take it sometimes is I don't want to be like the left.
No, I don't think so.
and I think that she's a pragmatist in almost every era.
*music*
*music* So I'm thinking, what is it, if kids are going back to records, at least some kids are, but it's pretty widespread.
*music* I don't think my grandchild is an outlier in this regard.
A lot of kids love records.
So I'm just thinking, what else could make a comeback?
Will, for example, a ringing house phone.
I don't see it.
Cash register.
That kids would get a kick out of.
You press...
Have you guys seen a cash register?
You've seen them?
I have two college-age girls in the studio, and we've just given each other the fist.
They're afraid of...
Shake hands, they'll both die.
And they're both vaccinated.
Don't start me on that, the forced vaccination.
Next week, by the way, I am going...
I need to do research.
I keep hearing that not all colleges are requiring faculty to be vaccinated.
If that's true, we have entered the realm of evil.
Why they would require young people who should not be taking it.
And middle-aged and older people, it's much less of an issue, and they're not taking it.
So that's the question that I will address.
So anyway, why would come back?
Cash register, family values.
That's cute.
That would be great.
Anyway, alright, let's go on to more of your calls, my friends.
Valerie in Fort Worth, Texas.
The FW in DFW. DFW. Hi, Dennis.
I love you, too.
So I want to say that first, because I take my lunch hour from work as often as I can to be able to hear as much of your show as I can.
And I go home at night, and my husband says, how was your day?
It's like, it was this.
This is what I heard today on Dennis Prager, and we center a lot of our conversation about topics that you have on the show.
I thank you for that.
It's wonderful to hear.
I'm grateful for that.
Thank you.
You're welcome.
Anyway, I had told the screener when she called, I love the saying, and I want to start incorporating it into when people say stuff to me, so what?
So what?
Right.
It's perfect.
It's just, it says a lot in very few words.
I told the screener one that I use often is, it's humanly impossible for me to care less.
My children don't like when I say that to them when they're trying to make a point and they're not getting the point that I'm trying to make.
That's right.
I love that.
I love that.
I mean, obviously, it's to be used judiciously, but that is exactly the point.
Yes.
Yes.
So what is briefer than yours?
It certainly is.
And I need to be able to start having an economy with words.
So I thank you for so much.
Well, God bless you.
You know what?
I'll give you an example of when I used it on this show.
Many years ago, a guy called up.
And it's pretty, pretty, pretty rare that I get anti-Semitic calls.
And if I see them, I definitely take them.
But it's very, very rare.
Because the truth is, there aren't that many anti-Semites in America.
This is a very good country that the left is ruining.
So a guy called, and he goes, you know, Jews control Hollywood.
So most talk show hosts, and I'm not saying this at all derogatorily, Most would just probably, you know what, you're an anti-Semite, goodbye, or something like that, or, you know, go shove it, or something, I don't know what else they'd say.
So, that's what he said, and I said, you know, the truth is, Jews are disproportionately involved in Hollywood Studios.
I don't know if it's as true today as it was then, but I said, you know, that's true.
And then I used the two magic words.
So what?
And the guy was quiet.
He had nothing to say.
Yes, Jews are disproportionately involved in Hollywood.
Correct.
A disproportionate number of studio owners are Jews.
So what?
And the guy had nothing to say.
And because he thought it was just a self-evident damning point.
But it means nothing.
And I proved it.
I said, so can you give me an example of them using it to ever benefit Jews?
What was the last pro-Jew movie you ever saw?
What was the last pro-Israel movie?
The last pro-Israel movie I remember was from the 1960s, Exodus.
So it's a very powerful thing, so what?
So what?
That's a good one.
I got that in fourth grade.
Thank you, Valerie, in Fort Worth.
Okay.
Jacob in Columbus, Ohio.
Hello.
Hello, Dennis.
So, I've got a case of Joe Cam, I told your screener, and that is Joe Biden Kamala Harris Syndrome.
I may just have to use your "so what" and move on, but they're so disingenuous and with such lack of content of character with these two, I'm just struggling a mite any time I hear either of them speak.
They are irrelevant.
The irony is, there's a so-what individually, there's not a so-what ideologically.
If they were kidnapped by Martians, What difference would it make?
You would have two other Democrats, obedient to the New York Times and to the rest of the left.
So the two of them, they mean nothing to me.
They are both nothings.
But two other nothings would take their place.
That is why the issue is the left.
The issue isn't Harris or Biden.
It's the left.

Thank you.
The weeks go by fast, as I've often mentioned to you.
Oh, we've got a lot of good people out there.
You know, there's been a lot of pushback, more than I had anticipated.
People speaking up at school meetings.
Professors who are fighting back at the sheep that they work with.
I think it's the sheep-like behavior of so many Americans that has been the most stressing.
And I also believe that college education produces sheep.
One of the most dangerous humans is the sheep.
They enable the evil shepherds to do their work.
Shepherds are worthless without sheep.
That is why, by the way, the mask issue is a big issue.
The masks are worthless.
You understand?
Everybody knows that.
It is a joke that these cloth masks, which everyone knows allow viruses in, the particles are smaller than the masks and than the mask openings.
The mask openings are larger than the virus.
Yes, same thing.
And wearing it outdoors?
That's why the mask thing has been quote-unquote politicized.
Because half of this country knows the other half is living in irrational fear.
Irrational fears, even with sweet people, lead to bad things.
I fear the irrational outside of religion.
Where, not the irrational, but the non-rational.
The non-rational is a place in the arts, in love.
It's great.
But not in behavior.
Behavior has to be rational.
