Well, Chinese authorities claimed the first explosion had been triggered when the summer heat caused a highly flammable compound called nitrocellulose to spontaneously ignite.
Nearby stores of ammonium nitrate then caught fire and exploded in the major port city.
It's hard to believe that just the heat of Beirut.
Caused this.
Oh my god.
It's a horrible thing.
Then as now witnesses filmed apocalyptic, almost surreal footage showing the scale of the inferno.
150 people at least are dead.
Thousands have been injured.
Massive damage.
And Lebanon was already in...
In a terrible state.
Sort of like in a failed state.
I was mentioning to the living martyr earlier during a break, Hezbollah has ruined Lebanon.
Lebanon was the garden of the Middle East, of the Arab Middle East.
It's where the rich went to enjoy themselves.
I was in Beirut a long time ago.
And it was a thriving city.
And then the Civil War was the beginning of the end.
The radical Muslims against the rest of society.
And it's an amazing thing because people keep voting in Hezbollah like it's done any good for them.
You realize the power of emotions in the human...
Species?
How little is governed by reason?
Why would anybody vote for Hezbollah for a rational reason?
It's just a terror, totalitarian organization.
That's what it is.
I'm sure it feeds some people.
They all do.
The Nazis fed people too.
Every disgusting organization feeds people.
Otherwise they die.
Local reports that the warehouse contained fireworks.
They kept fireworks with this ammonium nitrate.
They also have lighter fluid just, you know, to help.
The picture of the, oh, the devastation.
Yeah, it's like a bomb fell, a major bomb, right?
I'm not comparing the Democrats to Hezbollah.
I want to make that clear.
But it does make me think, why do people keep re-electing Democrats in failed cities?
We have failed cities like Lebanon is a failed state.
