Think of it, 104%.
Now, it sounds ridiculous, but they charged us for many items, 100%, 125%.
Many countries have.
They've ripped us off left and right.
But now it's our turn to do the ripping.
104% tariffs in China are not enough.
I'm advocating 400%.
I do business in China.
They don't play by the rules.
They've been in the WTO for decades.
They have never abided by any of the rules they agreed to when they came in for decades.
They cheat.
They steal.
They steal IP.
I can't litigate in their courts.
They take product, technology.
They steal it.
They manufacture it and sell it back here.

President Trump just taught the entire world the art of the deal.
In fact, the art of the great deal.
What did he tell you?
What did he tell you this morning?
He tweeted out, he put it up on Truth.
Now would be a good time to buy.
And as we sit 2 p.m. Eastern on the eastern coast of the American Republic, President Trump has just stated there will be a 90-day pause for every country on the reciprocal tariffs.
We keep the 10%.
But China, which was the only country that chose to retaliate, is now getting their tariffs up, increased to $120.
You hear that China?
You hear that Beijing?
You hear that Chairman Xi?
You are going to get your tariffs placed on you harder and faster than ever before.
We can get that truth back up, guys, because I want people to see this.
I want President Trump's truth to ring around the entire world.
Do you see what just happened?
Markets are now having a historic rally, and we get to keep the 125% tariffs on China, plus 10% on the rest of the world.
The greatest dealmaker to ever live.
He wrote the entire book on it, and nobody wanted to listen.
Now, some of you look really stupid right now.
All the panikins out there, you look dumb.
How many times does he have to do stuff like this before you're ever going to understand what's happening?
The reciprocal tariffs were meant to get people to move and it was also a test.
Who was the only country that failed that test?
Oh, it was China.
And guess what?
Not only did they fail, they failed that test in front of the entire world.
The entire planet.
So, now...
You have the entire world, with President Trump and the United States in the lead, focused squarely on China.
Do you get it?
Do you even understand what's happening?
The markets are rallying.

We are looking in and we are locking in on all of the news.
This is breaking out.
US markets are currently soaring.
The NASDAQ is up 10%.
This is the biggest jump in the NASDAQ since 2008.
We're seeing it right now.
Elon Musk is tweeting out his support.
Secretary Besant talking about how economic security is, of course, national security.
And guess what?
Guess what?
The 10% tariffs globally are still going to be in place.
They're still in place!
It's all going on, folks.
This is something that people could not see this.
People could not see this.
People were freaking out.
People were going, the sky is falling.
They were losing their minds when ultimately, and I was on War Room this morning, this was all about China.
China was always the biggest malefactor here.
They were the biggest offender.
They were the worst one of all.
They were the one that was always going to be locked in on this.
And I posted a little
on this last night on X where I was thinking about this some more.
And then Kevin O'Leary had his thing this morning where he was talking about we got to squeeze their heads against the wall.
They're cheating.
They're undercutting.
They're stealing IP.
But guess what?
They're doing that because they actually put their country first.
They actually do whatever they can.
And yes, it's cutthroat.
And yes, they'll use exploitative labor practices and all of these things.
They don't care.
Because they are acting in the best interest in their mind from their perspective of their country.
So when I lived in China, first was there in 2006, spent time there between 2006-2008, almost two years in total, learned Chinese Mandarin, traveled all throughout the country, traveled throughout Hong Kong, traveled throughout Taiwan,
learned a lot.
But one thing that I also learned is that it's almost impossible to sell anything Into China.
And we talked about the system of globalization here when we did the China Files a couple years ago.

And of course, the China Files was later turned into a chapter on the Unhuman Republic of China, which is, I believe it's chapter 8 or 9, of Unhumans, the Secret History of Communist Revolutions and How to Crush Them.
And we talked about how globalization and the system of globalism was built on the bloody squares, the bloody cobblestones of Tiananmen Square.
And that there was this idea that if we treated the CCP regime the same way the United States and the world treated Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, had isolated them back on June 4th, June 5th, 1989, the day after, and had said, hey, we're going to stop doing business with you,
we're not going to inject you with any more of this liquidity.
of the foreign direct investment.
We are instead going to pull out.
We're going to end trade relations.
We're going to end everything with you until you apologize, etc.
We didn't do that.
We didn't do that at all.
The deal was grant the Chinese Communist Party access to the Western capital markets in exchange for Western IP and the use of the Chinese exploitative labor as the global workforce.
They turned China into the factory.
This is between the elites.
U.S. elites and the Chinese Communist Party did this in secret.
And then they rolled out and said, oh, it's going to be most favored nation status and it's going to be the PNTR.
And we had Oren Kass on yesterday discussing this, how the permanent normal trade relations between the U.S. and China, their accession to the World Trade Organization, the WTO, gave them the ability to have access to all of these things.
And it was done on purpose.
To line their pockets while who got screwed over?
Americans. It turned the steel belt into the rust belt.
It turned our manufacturing centers into rotted out pores that are flooded with fentanyl and migrants.
We'll know more.
It's all coming screeching to a halt.
This has always been about China.
This isn't about tariffs anymore.
And we've got Secretary Scott Besant now with an update.
I want to go to that immediately.
This was driven by the president's strategy.
He and I had a long talk on Sunday, and this was his strategy all along.
And you might even say that he goaded China into a bad position.
They responded.
They have shown themselves to the world to be the bad actors.
And we are willing to cooperate with our allies and with our trading partners who did not retaliate.
So think about that.
What is Secretary Besson saying there?
Secretary Besson is explaining that of all the countries in the world, the one country that retaliated in the way they did was China.
Not the European Union.
Certainly not our allies in Japan.
We know Besson and the ambassador had dinner last night.
Not the South Koreans.
No. And what's going on right now is the ASEAN meeting.
So the ASEAN meeting is taking place.
That's the Association of Southeastern Asian Nations.
Xi Jinping is now going Xi Jinping
is terrified of what's going to come out of the ASEAN meeting and the ASEAN dialogue.
He's never done this before.
Why is he doing it?
He's doing it because he realizes that for once, the Chinese Communist Party isn't going to get their way.
For once, the dragon is going to be defanged, and now the dragon has to actually talk.
And now the dragon has to actually figure out what they're going to do.
And try to get people on board.
Look, the yuan's in free fall.
And it's been in free fall since yesterday.
And guess what?
It's only going to get worse.

I think this is mostly accurate.
Look at that.

That's a one-finger salute to the Chinese Communist Party right there.
This thing is going up.
It's broken up.
As I look right now, it's up 2,500 points.
I have no idea if this is a record or how much of this for a one day is.
But I do want to say, though, that people need to start understanding.
You think Donald Trump understands how the stock market works?
Just guys, try to think a little bit here.
Someone who has been writing about this for a long time and understands it quite greatly is Kenny Cody.
He hails from Appalachia, but he's also the opinion editor of humanevents.com.

Kenny, how are you doing?
And walk us through some of your analysis of what we've just seen over really the past 48 hours.
Just an amazing deal has been brought.
You know, it is now the world against China.
You know, Trump emphasized, and as Secretary of Treasury Scott Bassett emphasized, that if you all do not retaliate, if countries do not retaliate with reciprocal tariffs on us, that we're imposing on them with a 10% baseline, that things will work out and things will succeed.
And that obviously has happened.
With the NASDAQ, with the Dow, with the S&P 500, you're seeing all those markets explode positively because they know.
And investors know, businesses know, corporations know, and these governments that are coming to the table to negotiate know that China has abused America and the rest of the world for far too long.
We knew last night, whenever Trump announced that there was going to be 104% tariffs put on China, that something was going to happen that was going to be monumental within the next 48 hours or 24 hours.
And it has.
Now there's been a 90-day pause.
Emphasized by Scott Bessett, emphasized by many in Trump's cabinet, and Trump himself, that this was the negotiating strategy all along.
Anybody in their right mind who actually thinks that Trump caved on this, that he caved on tariffs, is so wrong, and just like they've been about his entire political career.
Trump has brought every country in the world that we have trade negotiations with whatsoever to the table.
They have not retaliated, and now deals are going to be met to make a more fair trade for America worldwide.
Every country that has come to the table is going to retaliate against China.
And it's now America and the rest of the world and their trade partners against communist China.
And it's a huge win for America, a huge win for MAGA, and a huge win for President Trump.
I mean, people, I don't understand.
You know, it'll be almost 10 years.
It'll be 10 years in June since President Trump first came down the golden escalator.
So we are just two months away from the...
One decade anniversary of President Trump's start of his political career.
And Kenny, there are still people that haven't sat down and actually read the art of the deal yet.
They don't get that his opening bid is always designed to shock you.
So that he gets everyone talking about it, and then he walks you back.
He creates that leverage.
He creates that leverage.
And that's why, by the way, he wasn't taking the calls.
That's why he wasn't reaching out to anyone.
He was saying no, no, no to everyone because he had to get to the point where everybody thought it was dead serious and then move it back to what he actually wants.

This is the same strategy he's used again and again in business.

So something I was talking about about this is, folks, when you look at all of these issues, the hollowing out of the middle of America, the destruction of our steel belt, our manufacturing base in America, the fentanyl, the border, all of the issues,
one by one by one, what does it come back to?
It comes back to China.
And I was talking about this last night on X. I said, look, this is something I've learned for a period of almost 20 years now, talking about this, and President Trump has been talking about it for even longer.
And it's time, it's high time, finally, that we had a president who actually took the China question seriously.
Kenny Cody is our guest.
Tell us some more, and I'm just going to pull in some of the headlines as we go.
Tell us about what it means that we actually have a president who's putting middle America first.
Well, middle America has suffered from the constraints of China for far too long.
When we have factories and corporations that are sending businesses over there and outsourcing resources, outsourcing employment, outsourcing products that could be made here in this country, that allowed China to become the number one superpower in the world when it comes to economics.
And for so long, we were the concentration.
We were the superpower.
Back in 2000, America was the one that was manufacturing all products here, whether it was the auto industry, whether it was the steel industry, whether it was the car industry, whatever it might be, we had all of those jobs here.
But now, China has become that one because they benefit from child slave labor, they benefit from low costs, and corporations have bought into that for so long because no executive will stand up and say, we need to make these things here, we need to bring businesses back here, and let America manufacture what we were always supposed to manufacture.
And give Americans jobs, give small businesses and corporations that are founded here the opportunity to employ Americans first.
And now we have seen the art of the deal really take place.
We've seen an extreme position created.
We've seen a compromise created.
We've seen statements be made that will control the narrative and shift the markets to a version of a panic.
And now everybody has came to the table.
All these other countries, the 50-plus countries, the 70-plus countries, have all came to a compromise to not retaliate against America.
But yet the only retaliatory country that happened was China.
What Trump, Besant, and so many others always thought would happen, that China would be the only one to say, we have abused America for now, and we're going to continue to abuse them.
And now America is paying it back in full and aligning with all their trade partners against the main enemy in the world that is the country of China and the Chinese Communist Party.
And now that that has happened, America will benefit.
America has executed the hour of the deal.
The markets will prosper.
American companies and corporations will prosper.
It's amazing because this is one thing where once again we have the sort of one movie on two screens situation.
You know, people are, the Panikins, some of the Panikins, who, and God forbid, by the way, Panikins are not welcome here on Human Events Daily.
We don't serve you in this restaurant.
You are not allowed to sit with us at the table for lunch.
Panikins are not welcome.
No, this is a show that is made by Patriots for Patriots, and it's about Patriots.
And so you look at some of this stuff and, you know, here's something up from, you know, a guy on Twitter.
it just says, look, Trump got exactly what he wanted all along.
The Yuan has been massively devalued.
China's economy is imploding and boxed in.
Countries are lining up to, literally lining up, to make new deals with the United States of America.
The GOP is now working on a new reconciliation bill that will allow for corporate tax cuts to become permanent,
Why do you want the corporate tax cuts in right now?
Because we want corporations building here in the United States of America.
You have to have an incentive for them to want to come in.
And then finally, the 10% tariffs across the board.
Think of this.
It's actually kind of funny.
If Trump had just said, we're going to do 10% tariffs across the board, everybody freaking out, right?
But he doesn't do that.
He says, no, we're going to do reciprocal tariffs, and there's going to be this formula, there's going to be all this stuff, and it's going to be this nonsense, this huge high number.
And then all of a sudden he goes, he leaves that for a couple days and says, all right, how about just 10%?
Yay! And everybody's cheering, and the stock market goes up when people say, wait a minute, did Trump just raise tariffs on the entire country and got everyone to cheer for it at the same time?
Yeah, he did.
And in the middle, what did he do?
125% on China, plus exposed them to the entire world.
So, you made a fatal error, Mr. Xi.
You didn't trust the plan.
You panicked.
You blinked.
You bet against President Trump, and you bet against America.
That wasn't a very wise idea.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
No, and this is something...
No one has ever dealt with China...
Again, in 20 years that I've been traveling back and forth from China, that I've been learning about China, no one in the United States has ever dealt with them like this.
Kenny Cody, there's so many politicians who say they want to change this to
Exactly. I mean, he has followed through Promises made, promises kept.
And he's the only politician of my lifetime or in many different lifetimes that has followed through on everything.
He promised these tariffs.
He has promised since 2012 to fight back against China and trade partners that were abusing the United States.
So I don't know why anybody is panicking or anybody is surprised that he's got what he wanted.
Anybody who has ever watched Donald Trump operate in politics, business, or anything else knows that in the end, he sets out an extreme position.
He looks for a compromise, and he comes to the deal that he wanted in the original in the first place.
And that has happened with keeping these 10% baseline tariffs, removing reciprocal tariffs, and increasing it to a 125% tariff on America's number one economic enemy, that is the Chinese Communist Party.
And another thing
The fact that we have 125% China on their biggest trade partner that is the United States, some of these countries are literally funded by China.
They move their companies or corporations.
Corporations have foundations in some of these smaller countries.
They are so relieved right now that not only are these reciprocal tariffs being lifted off of them, but they want to see somebody take China Because they know they can't.
And they are going to be more willing to bring jobs here.
They're going to be more willing to move for some corporations here to give American workers jobs and to have a better trade relationship because China finally has an enemy in the United States for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.
And now that we're going to be able to do that, America is going to be put first.
The American worker will be put first.
And all these other countries that we have trade relationships will be salivating and celebrating along with President Trump.
Look, and that's why you have Kevin O'Leary out there going up and saying that we shouldn't have a hundred.
Kevin O'Leary, by the way, got his wish because he was saying we have 104% or 104%, yeah, 104% tariffs.
And he said, that's not enough.
He said, my problem in it, it should be higher.
He said, why not go to 400?
So President Trump said, all right, he said, all right, Kevin, maybe not 400 yet, but let's go to 125.
Let's crank it up just a little bit.
We're going to crank it up a little bit.
And Kevin O'Leary said, he said, let's squeeze their heads against the wall because nobody's ever treated China.
I've talked about this.
People would go over there and you would have these leaders and they would say, oh, you know, China, it's so wonderful.
And we could have a system like that in the United States and a lot of COVID-19 and a lot of the World Economic Forum, the Great Reset stuff that we saw was actually just a transfer of the China model and the China system.
To the United States.
And the idea was that, you know, we would have these new policies and this new technocratic government and we were going to make China into the factory of the world.
And it was never true.
It was always a lie.
We became more like China.
They did not become more free.
They did not become more like us.
They became the same way they were and they made us more authoritarian on top of it.
Last minute, Kenny Cody.
We need to be celebrating this win.
Not only can we be celebrating the stocks, the NASDAQ, the Dow, the S&P 500, but we need to be thankful that the world will now look to us as the one country that can fight back against the country that has controlled all of these smaller nations for so long.
America has the power, America has the compromise, and we have an executive that is finally going to fight back against the...
Chinese Communist Party that has deserved backlash for so long.
And I'm so glad that this has worked out.

So folks know that, you know, I've been talking about this for years, really, on social media and others.
But Narnia, the new Netflix adaptation, has just been announced.
And there are very disturbing reports circulating in the trades, circulating online, that Netflix is in discussions with Meryl Streep for their new Narnia adaptation, not to play
the role of, say, the White Witch or Mrs. Beaver or, you know, one of these, you know, prominent female characters in Narnia.
But no, they want to make her...
Now, the question, of course, is why would the C.S. Lewis estate allow something like this to take place?
Well, to discuss this and more with us, As a Catholic,
my mind is absolutely blown that they would try to ruin Narnia.
C.S. Lewis was a devout Catholic, and it's obvious that Aslan was a representation of Jesus Christ in these movies.
So it's really a shame that Hollywood is...
Well, they're already digging themselves a deeper and deeper hole every single day.
We saw with Snow White.
But the fact that they're going to try and ruin Narnia, it's a shame.
And quite honestly, it's disgusting that they're going to take away the faith from the movie.
No, as for a devout Christian, I think it was Anglican.
I don't know if he actually converted over to Catholicism.
I know Tolkien was Catholic.
But even again, as a devout Christian, someone who clearly had...

Again, Ashland has his mane cut off at one part of the story.
So it's like you actually need it to be a male lion or else the story doesn't even work because a female lion can't get her mane cut off because for the biology fans out there, female lions don't have manes.
Like you could literally just, I don't know, watch Lion King and maybe understand that.

Moving through Hollywood very quickly, but also there's probably money behind it.
And we've seen with DEI quotas across schools and businesses across the nation.
And there's no doubt that DEI quotas, to some extent, are infiltrating Hollywood as well.
So of course, they have to modernize movies and completely ruin it.
But going back to Revelations 5.5, we see the biblical description of Jesus Christ is Lion of Judah, a male with divine power.

And, you know, it's amazing because I actually just finished reading the...
We read the entire series with my oldest son.
He's six years old.
He'll be seven in a month.
And we just finished the last book of Narnia, the last battle, where, in fact, the whole thing turns into this final battle of Narnia because of a false Aslan.
It's literally the plot of the books that everything goes crazy.
And, you know, I'll just say it.
They end up accidentally summoning a demon who starts, like, devouring all of Narnia because they use a false weapon.
It's like, did they even read the book series that they're making?
I was going to say, they probably haven't even read the books or watched the movies at that.
And it's really sad because Narnia has a very, very large conservative and Christian fan base.
And quite honestly, making a mockery of this faith by, you know, removing the male figure that's, you know, the whole plot of the story, it's going to lose the fan base and the movie is 100% going to flop.
No, I think what they're doing on Netflix is disgusting.
I think we need to turn this into the next Snow White.
But who knows?
Hopefully, maybe I'm being naive a little bit, but I do have hope that perhaps, perhaps, if there's enough of a backlash now that people can finally, or maybe the state will get involved, and I've been tweeting at them every day to put the brakes on this and say,
