- Hi, I'd like to welcome you to our show.
I'm your host, Prang Medic.
We're talking about life as a child of God and all things related to His Kingdom.
Thanks for joining us. | |
If you're a new listener to the show, you can find articles and books and other resources on my website www.prangmedic.com.
Now let's jump into this week's show.
We're trying to have energy.
Yes, we're trying to have energy.
It's kind of the end of the day.
Good evening in our part of the world.
But you know, if you're listening to this at four or five o'clock in the morning on Monday, it's going to be good morning for you.
Yeah, good morning. | |
So good morning from Praying Medic and Praying Medic's wife.
Yeah, we've had some busy times here again.
I feel like I say this every time we do a podcast.
We have been busier than normal, I think.
Oh, maybe. | |
My brain is so scrambled, I don't even know where to start with this podcast.
Well, we already did a podcast about what happened when we went to the Sid Roth taping.
Right. | |
And so now we're in the aftermath, some of the aftermath of that.
We're a little in the aftermath of the taping of the show, but the show hasn't aired yet.
It's going to air, we believe, sometime in April.
Right. | |
We think. | |
That's what they say. | |
But you know, the funny thing is now we're actually having to live out the advice we gave to people about how to quit your day job.
Scary, isn't it? | |
Because I have been talking about quitting my day job for a long time.
You're the first one who actually suggested I should think about that.
And I was terrified when you first brought it up.
But now that I actually have seen a plan develop, I'm excited about it.
It's just not happening fast enough.
So I've been burning the candle up with fans trying to make it happen.
You are probably more motivated than anybody I know right now.
The only reason I get anything done is because you know I never get more than three feet away from a cup of coffee.
What was that sign I just bought for your office?
Behind every successful person is a substantial amount of coffee.
And I am no exception to the rule.
Although whether I'm successful or not has yet to be determined, I think.
I am now in a period in my life of transition.
I'm finding myself transitioning into things just a month or two ago I did not see coming.
And this is something that some of you might be able to relate to.
A couple of you, maybe a couple hundred.
I don't know. | |
I suddenly had put on my plate something so big.
I was thinking, wow, how in the world am I ever going to get this done?
Because now I have a plan to quit my day job.
Nothing wrong with being a paramedic, if that's what God has called you to be.
But I don't actually think God ever called me to be a paramedic.
Except I do think it is a precursor or it was a precursor to what you're doing now.
Maybe if you weren't a paramedic, you wouldn't have been called praying medic.
You wouldn't have had so many people to pray with and for over the years.
So I think it's a valuable, it was a really valuable part of your progression.
It has been a valuable experience, but looking back on my life, I can't help but wonder what my life would have been like had I listened to God 35 years ago and maybe gone into and done something else.
Like writing? | |
Well, maybe like writing.
Like teaching? | |
Well, you are teaching even when you write.
But the thing is, what do you write about when you're 22 years old?
What do you teach people about?
What life experience do you have when you're that young and you don't really have much mojo to teach from or to write about?
So you have to do something to gain some life experience, to get a history with God, and to figure out life, at least in some respect.
Well, through a lot of trial and error, we all get to where we're supposed to be, hopefully.
What it comes down to for me is I am now transitioning out of being a paramedic into being a teacher.
I think that's what I may be doing.
Well, I don't know about the rest of my life, but for the next few years, I really feel like the Holy Spirit is eager for me to start teaching, to put together some classes, take the knowledge and experiences that I've gained and share them with other people.
In ways that I haven't done yet.
Now, I've written books.
I mean, I could say the same thing to you that I said when I encouraged you to write.
I said you are already a writer.
And now I say you are already a teacher.
Because you have been teaching people.
That I can see. | |
I mean, through writing, through Facebook.
That I can see. | |
I couldn't see the writer thing.
I can see the teacher thing.
Because I've always taught.
I've always been teaching classes all through my career.
Paramedic training. | |
Teaching medical classes.
When I was doing field training, I loved doing that.
And now that I have an opportunity to do teaching on things I'm really interested in, like healing, and seeing the Spirit, and traveling in the Spirit, and emotional healing and deliverance, I am so excited and so jazzed to have an opportunity to teach on those things.
You know, when I'm at work, people say, you know, Hey, there's a field training officer position open.
Would you think about putting in for it?
I was like, no, I'm absolutely not interested.
I'm just 10 years ago. | |
I loved it. | |
I love doing field training.
I love teaching people the ropes about EMS.
And, uh, but now I have no interest in it at all.
None. | |
I just want to teach people about the kingdom.
I feel really fortunate to have this opportunity to start taking my teaching skills and using them.
That's something I'm passionate about.
Yeah. | |
I don't know. | |
Maybe you shouldn't say on the air that you're going to quit your day job.
It could get out to the company.
Honey, it's, it's coming.
Yeah, I know. | |
Well, and the whole reason now that you have, and I guess we should say that you're talking about teaching classes online.
Online teaching. | |
I would love to have 5,000 people come into my house and have me teach them, kind of like Jesus taught, you know, out on the mountainside.
Just sit around and multiply some food.
Right. | |
That would be awesome. | |
That would not be practical.
And if it's July here in Phoenix, you do not want to be the one sitting out in my backyard when it's 112 degrees.
Well, unless you're in the pool.
Unless you're in the pool.
And then we can't really fit 5,000 in that pool.
Probably only two or three hundred.
Yeah, so thankfully the internet is a way to reach a lot of people, just like the books are.
Right. | |
So the Lord has been giving me a crazy number of dreams over the last three weeks.
Almost all of my dreams have been about developing landing pages, creating videos, creating lessons, and getting all this work done to get these classes put together so that people can take them online.
So the cat is kind of coming out of the bag.
And the reason that you're considering doing this, first of all, is you did have dreams about it, but also that once the Sid Roth episode airs, then your face and your identity is blown.
Your cover is blown. | |
My cover is blown. | |
And since I'm going to be out there for all the public to see, I might as well be out there for all the public to see in some ways it can help people.
Learn through video teaching.
Maybe webinars. | |
Probably do some webinars if I can figure out how to do them.
I will say this, I feel like I've taken a software engineering class in the last two weeks because the software that I've been working with to integrate the classes onto my website, it has been a crazy journey of purchasing and installing new software and then working out the glitches and conflicts.
I'm having all kinds of conflicts between different programs I'm using on my website, so I'm calling tech support to get You're watching tutorials.
How to figure out the conflicts and watching tutorials.
And I'm doing things on Bluehost on my server I never thought I would be doing.
I'm going in there and changing files.
And if you would have told me I'd be doing this two months ago, I would have said you're crazy.
There's no way I would do that stuff.
You're getting braver.
I have been doing some really crazy things.
Really because I feel so passionate about getting these classes out there.
So, in addition to adding new software to the website, I'm having to learn how to produce videos.
Now, unlike a lot of people who are doing YouTube videos, you take your cell phone or you use your webcam on your computer to do a little video of yourself.
That's not what I'm doing.
Yeah, you wanted to upscale it a little more than that.
We are going to try to do really good professional quality video.
I bought some microphones and some cameras.
We have just bought some lighting equipment today.
We are learning how to do video lighting.
We're learning how to do good sound production and video production.
This is not going to be amateur YouTube video stuff.
We hope! | |
We hope it's going to be really good.
We're working on it. | |
Good quality. | |
Well, you're not going to let something junky go out there.
That's just how you are.
I don't want to, no. | |
If it doesn't look good, sound good.
Neither do you. | |
It's not going out there.
So, we are on the steep end of the learning curve on putting all this stuff together.
And I will tell you, it is exhausting.
The reason I haven't been writing much in the way of blog posts or posting on Twitter or on Facebook is I have been spending most of my time over the last month learning about how to put together video classes.
And there is a lot to learn.
And most nights I go to bed exhausted.
And your brain is constantly in gear.
It seems like you're often in another world.
When we're driving to the store, we're going to a restaurant for dinner, you look at me and go, you're processing, aren't you?
And I'm like, yep, I can't shut it down.
I'm just processing and processing and trying to figure out what am I gonna do next?
And how does this work? | |
And how does that integrate with this?
And what conflicts am I going to have?
So, it has been a wild couple of weeks, and I apologize for my absence on the podcast and the social media, but we have been learning so much about what we're going to be doing next.
And I think it's going to be something really good for people who want to learn about the supernatural.
And you have been doing some cool stuff, too.
Yeah, I guess it was a few weeks ago, maybe it was as much as a month ago.
Time is flying, so it's hard for me to When you talked to Matt?
Estimate, yeah. | |
That was probably a couple months ago.
We were catching up by telephone with Matt Evans, our friend from Washington State.
And we hadn't talked to him in quite a while.
And he is very into inner healing and deliverance.
He's done a lot of work in that area with different ministries.
And he has a book that he's writing about.
He's writing a book, yeah.
Which ought to be really good.
I'm getting to read it. | |
I'm getting to be one of the first people to read it.
But as always, when we get together with Matt, He, he's so willing to do healing with you.
Um, I expressed some troubles that I was having just some, uh, sort of malaise and, and just feeling a little depressed or just not being motivated to do my art, even though it's what I want to do deep down.
And I know it's what I'm called to do.
I just didn't have the, the energy and the motivation.
So this is an encouragement to you.
If you have something that you want to get done, something you want to accomplish, but you don't have the energy or the motivation, you just feel like it's not flowing, you may need some inner healing.
You may need some inner healing and deliverance.
So she's going to share her story.
Yeah. | |
So Matt, like I said, we were on the phone with him and he said, well, do you have a few minutes?
I can help. | |
I can walk you through some prayers.
And I said, yeah, if you have time, I do.
So we ended up talking, I don't know, probably between a half an hour and an hour.
And he walked me through some generational prayers to get rid of some things that are in my family line.
And he at first started the prayers where I would just kind of repeat after him.
And then Holy Spirit started speaking things to me.
Um, that I recognized as things in my family line.
So we, so Matt said, you just take it from here, whatever the Holy Spirit is speaking to you that now we're going to pray about that.
So then he would help walk me through those things, you know, renouncing, really repenting and renouncing these things over my ancestors and myself.
And, uh, You know, at one point I got emotional, I was crying a bit, and there was a point where sometimes I felt relief over the things we prayed, and then another time I felt this oppression, like something on my chest, it just felt like a heaviness.
And Matt said, I think there's something there that's not going and it needs to go, and he looked in the spirit and he said, I see a rat stealing your cheese!
I thought that was hysterical and so we he prayed to get rid of that and then I felt it lift everything lifted and then you know we were done we hung up about a week later he contacted me through a private message on Facebook and he asked me how's it going how did everything turn out
And that was the first time I really connected the dots because I realized within that week, it was from a Saturday to Saturday or Friday to Friday or something, within that week I suddenly had all this ability, energy, motivation to work on my paintings.
I almost really developed a style I would say for my acrylic work which had been a struggle for me before because it's a new medium for me.
I was so used to working in oils in the past.
Working with acrylics was a big change.
Everything dries so fast you know.
So I ended up that week Producing all this work.
I painted every single day, which hadn't really happened prior to that.
And at the end of the week, I had nine paintings photographed, ready to go up on my website, which I have not publicized to anyone yet because it's not quite ready.
Which, by the way, if you're interested in seeing her paintings... Not yet.
Not yet. | |
But I will be. | |
But you have them photographed.
Yeah, I will be putting them up and trying to get some feedback on them.
We're working on building her website, too.
But anyway, I said to Matt, wow, I just realized this whole week was super productive and there was a flow to it.
There was no stress over it.
Everything went so well.
And I really do attribute it to going through those prayers and getting rid of some stuff that was kind of weighing on me.
So, wow. | |
I can't say how good I feel compared to back then.
You know, things are moving.
You've been getting a lot of stuff done.
You've been helping me a lot.
Yeah. | |
And we had, well, that was, was that before Sid Roth?
I can't remember. | |
I think it was before Sid Roth.
Yeah. | |
So then we had to get ready for Sid Roth and all that.
So that was over a month ago.
So I've been kind of helping you since then, but.
I need a lot of help. | |
Yeah. | |
And yeah, you do. | |
Well, you're doing so much.
You're so productive. | |
I don't know how you, well, you do it through caffeine, but I can't drink as much coffee as you can.
So. | |
I shouldn't drink as much as I do, but I'm kind of keeps me going.
I'm kind of working a little and then take a nap and then drink another, maybe half a cup of coffee.
But yeah, so we've both been coming into some things that we hadn't done before and it's, it is, I feel exhausted, but in a good way, I guess.
We're getting a lot done, and we're learning a lot, and it's tiring work.
I mean, I feel like I need a vacation.
And because you're doing it outside of your regular job, it's like you already work over 48 hours a week as a paramedic, and then the rest of your time you have just been busy with all this, so it's not like we get a lot of time to just relax.
We don't get much time to relax.
We go out to dinner once in a while and have a business meeting.
While we're eating, that's our downtime, I guess.
Yeah, and it's good downtime, but we don't have enough downtime.
I think we need to find a way to have a little more time away from the busy hustle and bustle of what we're doing.
Hopefully, when I'm not working as a medic anymore, and I'm doing just teaching and writing, we'll have more time to do the things we want to do.
Yeah, maybe we'll actually exercise.
Hey, I think we should do that every day.
That might be a good plan.
That might be a good plan.
Yeah, we kind of neglect some things.
I was talking to our friend Amy Martin a few weeks ago.
You know, people think that everything's going real smooth.
And I said, but we're neglecting our bodies.
We're doing all this stuff but we neglect some things.
Yeah, things are not going as smoothly as they could, that's for sure.
We do have our ups and downs and our bumps but I think all in all things are moving in a very good direction and I'm really glad to see you painting, getting your website closer to having it ready to go, getting things up and running and maybe selling some paintings and prints.
Yeah, and then there's plans for perhaps you to do some Periscope once you get a phone that will work with that.
Once I get a phone that was built in this century, I will be doing Periscope, probably Facebook videos.
We are quite frustrated with our phones right now.
Yeah, I just got on Instagram a couple weeks ago.
If you want to look me up there, I'm just posting some simple little memes.
Yeah, and I might be doing some videos of, you know, drawing or painting processes, perhaps color mixing for those of you who are artistically inclined and want to learn a little bit.
I am professionally trained, but You're pretty good.
It's been a while. | |
You're a good artist and you're a good teacher.
I can really see you doing some extensive teaching in the future with budding, aspiring artists.
Yeah, I like to encourage artists.
And relationships. | |
And we might talk about relationships.
We might A marriage podcast.
Maybe marriage and relationships.
Yeah. | |
We've learned a lot about that through our mistakes.
We have learned a lot through our mistakes.
I wish I could say I didn't make all those mistakes, but we're a little wiser now because of it.
Yeah. | |
We have very few conflicts.
Things are pretty hunky dory.
Yes, they are. | |
Amen. | |
So thanks for tuning in again to our little podcast here.
Just wanted to bring you up to date on what we've been doing and what we haven't been doing.
I haven't been working too heavily on my books.
So Traveling in the Spirit Made Simple and the Bogren Novel have been on hold for about a month.
But don't be too angry with me.
I got a lot done before we took the break.
Traveling in the Spirit Made Simple, most of the content is there.
I just need to reorganize that, add a few testimonies, and that shouldn't take too much time to get it whipped into shape.
And then the Bogren novel, I'll work on that as I get more time.
I apologize. | |
And we do have the compilation book coming out.
Maybe we should talk about that for just a second.
We have a compilation book coming out.
Yeah, so I recruited about 30 of my friends to contribute essays on hearing God's voice.
And so people like Jesse Berkey and Christina Clover and Ginny Wilcox, who have contributed essays on how to hear God's voice.
Each of them is a little unique.
They're all coming from a different perspective.
We have those essays edited, and we're going to put them out in an e-book.
Lydia said she feels like she may have the editing done by the end of the month.
Once we have it edited, I can flow it into... I have to make a cover.
You have to come up with a cover design, and then I have to flow it into an e-book program, and we will have a compilation book available pretty soon, I think.
Yeah, I think it'll be a fun book.
There are some really inspiring, very cool essays in that book.
Different viewpoints.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes out.
Me too. | |
So we have that to look forward to.
Busy, busy, busy. | |
Lots of stuff going on. | |
Yes. | |
But now it's time for steak and a glass of wine.
Yeah. | |
All right. | |
Well, y'all have a good week.
Hopefully we'll have another podcast for you next week.
Yes. | |
Hopefully. | |
Until then, Praying Medic out.
