DIVINIA WATER UPDATE - AUGUST 16, 2019
| Copy link to current segment

Time Text
Thank you.
Thank you.
We have sort of a mixed show today.
We've got Davinia Water, the representatives and really the owner and his daughter here on the show and then we're going to have Jane who is the organizer.
Of the Yelm UFO conference that is happening on Labor Day weekend.
So it's kind of, like I say, a mixed show.
And I want to welcome both of you, Kirsten Settlemyer and Steve Settlemyer.
And Kirsten, I apologize.
I don't know what your actual title is.
I know you do a great deal over there.
So is it marketing?
Are you head of marketing?
Yeah, technically director of marketing.
Okay, great.
And Steve, of course, is the originator of the water and the process by which you get the water filtered and all of that.
So perhaps the best way to start here For people that aren't familiar already with Davinia water and I've been using it for a while.
It's really excellent water.
I just have to say that.
I guess you might call it a disclaimer.
And we're going to have an update about the company and I've done several interviews already with them.
So if you guys would like to update us First of all, introducing the water, Steve, if you could, and how you ended up getting involved in this very interesting field.
Yes, the name of the water is Divinia Water.
You can find it on the internet when you Google it.
D-I-V-I-N-I-A. And I started this process because my wife was drinking water out of bottles, plastic bottles.
Which I did not think we needed to spend the money on.
And also it seemed like a waste to me.
And because most of the water, 60% of the water is just tap water that you buy.
And now they're starting to run it through some filters and maybe process it a little bit more.
But basically it's contaminated tap water.
So I decided I could Invent a better way of coming up with distilling water.
And during the process of inventing this, we found out that it does more than just distill water.
It actually changed the water.
Actually, it's very germane right now.
Our water is in glass.
It's recyclable.
We don't use any plastics.
And if you are looking at the news recently about the plastics that are in the oceans and now they found it in the Great Lakes.
They found it in all the fish down in the Mariana Trench.
And just this morning I was reading another article about how the Arctic and the Antarctic are now polluted with microplastics too.
So they traced it, found out that we are just now constantly being rained on by plastic 24 hours a day.
Not with just rain, but it's just falling out of the sky.
So it's now atmospheric transport.
They also have found a corset in all the Great Lakes.
They found it, they took samples of human waste, feces, here in Europe.
And they found out that we are pooping plastic out now.
And also they found out that it's raining on all our food crops.
It's getting into the food itself, into the vegetables.
And all the animals are now contaminated with plastic too.
So we now live in a very plastic world in more ways than one.
So that means that there is no good sources of water.
In fact, about a year ago, they started looking at what you drink in plastic bottles.
They found out not only were there between 150,000 to 10,000 particles of plastic in the water you drink out of plastic bottles, but it's also leaching the plastic too.
So we are on an effort to try to remove that plastic from the water that you drink, and we have no plastic Whatsoever ours is all glass, it's all recyclable, and our water is so extremely pure that we have no plastic particles in it whatsoever.
And even further than that, it goes through a process that ozonates it, kills all the virus, all the bacteria, goes through filters, it's deionized, so there's no minerals in it.
It then goes through vapor compression, And it's above medical grade.
Then it runs through my water processors, but it actually causes a molecular change to the water itself.
That molecular change, we have found out, helps individuals that might have problems, chronic problems.
We're not advocating that this cures anything All we're saying is that it will help you maintain your health and return you back to normal.
It normalizes you.
And so there's a lot of different aspects to this water, much more than I just mentioned.
Okay, excellent.
Yeah, I think that's a really good introduction, and maybe we could have Kirsten talk a little bit about the water as she understands it, and maybe the short history of how you got, sort of how long you've been operational, and then we can also get into the fact that you've now had a I think a television show based on your story.
Yeah, as the viewers might have gathered at this point now, I am Stephen's daughter.
And this is something we've been pursuing for about 15 or 16 years now.
So approximately half my life.
And it really just started, as Stephen said, you know, he was trying to provide clean water for the family.
And it just snowballed into something that was very special.
We didn't realize initially just how special and how nuanced this particular water is.
But after having it researched that universities like Penn State, Arizona State, University of Washington, Loyola Marymount, etc., etc., we began to discover that there are some certain properties associated with this water that's very unique to this water that no other water at this particular point could claim.
At least all together in one water.
There are deuterium-depleted waters, which ours is.
We are an exclusion zone water, highly oxygenated, very pure.
So it's kind of an amalgamation of all sorts of wonderful things in one bottle.
So that's where we really feel like we have a stance in health and wellness, in the health and wellness marketplace.
So that people can come to Davinia and essentially tackle perhaps maybe some health issues they might be facing.
Or if they're just interested in really maintaining their health, it's a great product to have.
We all have to drink water anyway.
So why not just drink something that you know is very pure and hydrating?
What I love about our product, in fact, is that we offer benefits with nothing in it.
There's no other water that can say that it does this, this, and this with nothing in it.
There's no additives.
There's no electrolytes.
There's no salts.
There's nothing added for flavor.
There's nothing added for taste.
There's nothing added to make it more beneficial or more hydrating.
So a lot of people turn to our product because they can trust that they're just getting pure, clean hydration.
And as Stephen alluded to, in a world where you can't find clean water, This is very special for a lot of people.
So that's really our mission.
That's what gets us out of bed every day.
And that's what really compels us to keep pushing the envelope and to give our customers, our friends, our family something that they can rely on on a regular basis.
Right.
Now, can you talk, either you or Steve, about the, if I understand it, the deuterium, if it's called?
In other words, you go through all these processes to make sure the water is pure, and it's also, I think it's called, I don't know, is it water H3O or H203, or what is that deuterium situation about?
Well, from what I understand, deuterium and the H3O2 are two totally different ways to qualify the water.
Deuterium, heavy water, heavy deteriorated water, is water that has an extra hydrogen ion.
Extra neutron.
Neutron.
So what it does is it actually makes the atom heavier.
Or the molecule heavier, atomically speaking.
So it's much harder for the body to absorb.
It's harder for the cells to use it to actually separate the hydrogen and oxygen.
And for biological purposes, it's very difficult for the body to break apart because there's this extra hydrogen floating around that your body just isn't sure what to do with.
So when you actually start depleting these extra hydrogen molecules, Molecules, you're making it easy for your body to absorb, so more rapid hydration.
Water naturally is about 155 parts per million deuterium, and it really was used by scientists to measure the age of materials, natural materials, on the planet.
It's now being used to measure water, and that translation of lower deuterium means that it could have More benefits to the people that are drinking it.
Let me give you an example that might help.
If you go bowling and you try to knock pins over with a balloon, it's not very effective, right?
And the pins are your cells, so there's no damage to it.
If you use a regular bowling ball, of course when you hit the pins, Depending on how you hit them, they jump up in there and explode a little bit and rock around.
If you use a bowling ball that's twice as heavy, when it hits those pins, it really knocks them all over the place.
Maybe even breaks the pins.
Well, deuterium water is heavy water.
And biologically, it's not used.
In fact, if you drink too much heavy water, it kills you.
The government, of course, uses heavy water to stop and regulate nuclear fusion and fission.
And so you hear of heavy water reactors because it slows things down, can't penetrate.
Well, when this heavy water is in your body, it causes some ill effects to it and it stops biological functions.
It stops your liver from functioning properly, stops your kidneys from functioning properly, makes your heart work harder, etc., etc.
So what we do is we deplete that deuterium, we take some of that heavy water out, and we take it out so that it's in the optimal range for health, so that there's still a little bit left in it, but it's where your body can function properly.
So, you don't want heavy water.
In fact, water has 16 different forms that I can spout off, but there's 16 different forms of water.
And you want actually the lightest water possible because it's the easiest for you to biologically digest and use.
Another example is if I drink water or soup, that's pretty easy for me to digest and I don't feel sluggish, right?
It doesn't stop me.
But if I sit down and eat a heavy meal of steak and potatoes and ice cream and everything, I'm sluggish for two hours after I eat.
Well, that steak and potatoes and all that heavy food is heavy water.
That's deuterium.
The soups and the water are normal water.
So it's easy.
So what we want to do is try to balance the water to the lightest, easiest form that's digestible to your body.
As a result, I don't know if you've heard of hydrogen water now, Karen?
I guess sort of.
Yeah, and you know it's starting to get popular because they found out that hydrogen actually does a lot of the biological functioning in the body.
So you want a water that donates the hydrogen readily.
When you take water into your body, it's used as a chemical reaction and it separates the hydrogen and the hydroxide, which is called OH, and it uses those different atoms to do these different chemical reactions.
So your body actively uses water.
And it uses it for chemical reactions.
So you want the hydrogen to be readily available.
And that's why they're starting to make this hydrogen water.
They actually put hydrogen gas in it and fuse it.
Well, hydrogen also is an antioxidant.
Hydrogen also kills bacteria and viruses and that sort of stuff.
So that's why people are starting to use hydrogen gas in their water.
The problem with the hydrogen gas and water is that the minute you open any bottle that has hydrogen gas in it, the hydrogen gas dissipates and is gone within two to three minutes.
Well, with our water, the way that we've done it, it allows you to use the hydrogen four to seven times easier than normal water, yet when you open the top, the hydrogen doesn't fly out.
It still consists of water.
It's still water.
But the hydrogen is a very loose hydrogen.
And so when you need it, your body takes it.
And it doesn't take any energy to take it.
It's a very loose hydrogen.
So that we have the effect of what's called hydrogen water.
And of course, easy water, we've got more oxygen in it.
We were speaking to someone yesterday, and this isn't the first time it's happened.
And of course, this is anecdotal, what I'm telling you.
We aren't claiming anything.
But this person's sister had some pretty heavy fungi in her, some moss.
And they were trying to kill with antibiotics and all sorts of stuff, and it wasn't very effective.
She got underwater, and within about three weeks to a month, it killed all the The mold in her body and she was mold free.
And she's been trying to go mold free for 10 years.
They couldn't accomplish it.
One month on our water.
Again this anecdotal.
One month on our water and all the mold was gone out of her body.
We're asking for some anecdotal information from Steve about things that people have reported to them.
And there was a nuclear plant, I think, accident that your water kind of, according to the people themselves, and we did have a witness on our show several years ago, I believe.
Can you talk a little bit about that?
Yeah, and I would also please urge your listeners, your viewers, to go look at some of Carrie's podcasts in the past.
Where we talk about this and just look at our podcast in general.
She's very informative, very knowledgeable, but what she's referring to is someone that we had on the show and this person had received radiation through an accident out at the Idaho National Labs, which is the premier site for testing nuclear reactors.
That's where they also The Navy trains all their operators for nuclear sites and all the nuclear sites and their operators there to get trained.
And so this person opened up a what's called a clamshell that was storing nuclear material in it and he actually breathed the dust of the nuclear material and he received between 200 to 300 gram of material within a 30 seconds.
Which is somewhere around 30,000 times the amount the average person will receive in radiation over their entire lifetime.
Including x-rays and teeth x-rays and everything.
This guy received it in 30 seconds.
15,000 times.
And of course what that was doing was causing chronic failure of the kidneys, the liver, the esophagus, He was sick.
He was thrown up.
He actually at one time had turned into an alcoholic because he was depressed and figured that maybe that was the easy way out.
He was in pain, extreme pain.
He was losing weight.
And so the uranium, plutonium, and cesium He had entered into his bone marrow, and it was actually just part of him.
He began drinking our water, and within six months, his kidneys and his liver had returned back to normal.
And over the period of a year to a year and a half, it removed all the contamination out of his body, so he no longer had any uranium or cesium or plutonium in it.
It sucked it right out of the bone marrow.
And all his markers returned back to normal.
And that's been several years now.
At one time they thought his life expectancy was going to be very short.
And I think it's been, oh gosh, six, seven years since the accident now.
And usually those people only have, at the most, a two to three year lifespan after that.
And he's gone on six, seven years.
He's totally healthy now.
Yeah, that's so amazing.
So, we also wanted to talk about the television special, or I'm not even sure, can you define what it is that they decided to do a television special about your water, and can you talk about that?
Yeah, we were very lucky to be put in touch with the producers of a show on A nationally syndicated PBS show called Startup.
And it's actually one of the largest shows in the nation, some of the highest viewership in the nation for shows on entrepreneurship and business.
Actually, the viewership is just right underneath Shark Tank.
So we're very lucky to have the opportunity to share our story and continue to share our story on a massive scale.
And so they were really intrigued with our story where we started.
I don't know if we ever touched on this on your podcast, but we were essentially homeless when we endeavored to grow this business.
And just by the grace of God, the universe, wonderful people that have been involved, we've been able to grow this and offer this to more and more people as we've grown.
So they were really intrigued with our story.
Our mission to offer very clean water in eco-friendly ways.
And, you know, a mission to give people clean water that they can rely on in a very industrialized world.
So, yeah, they're very excited to come in.
They spent two days with us, spoke to Stephen, myself, the rest of the team.
And so we're going to have that show airing in September.
We're the second episode of the season.
I'm not sure of the date yet, but they say to check your local listings.
It airs on Sundays, so you can find us on one of those Sunday airings in the next few weeks here.
That's really great.
And so we'll do that.
And please do keep me up to date on that so we can give our audience the heads up on all of that and help you advertise to get lots of viewers and that type of thing.
Because what you have done is so amazing and I love to bring people's awareness to it.
So, in terms of the newest things that are going on with your company, and I'm just going to look really quickly at the time.
We're going to have to wrap this up quite quickly.
But we have about five minutes.
So, can you talk about anything that you would like to get out there while we're doing this update?
Anything new going on in your company and with the water?
Anything Anything to do with shipping processes or whatever happens to be useful.
And then someone is asking in the chat what you're considering an important amount of water to drink per day of the bottles.
I think maybe since we've spoken last, we've been able to hire a few more employees.
So our operations are expanding.
The company itself is expanding.
We're getting more and more people, more and more resources online to be able to produce more of this water at a faster rate.
I do say that with the caveat, though, that as we continue to grow, adding more purifiers, we hit capacity and then we kind of plateau.
Then we add more purifiers and it grows and then we hit capacity and plateau.
And so it's a learning curve for us.
We're trying to get ahead of the curve.
At any rate, we're continuously working day in, day out to keep up with demand.
We're in grocery stores, in particular Air One in Los Angeles.
We're getting into another high-end store in Las Vegas.
We're in a grocery store here in Idaho Falls and a few grocery stores in Jackson.
We're really working hard to make sure that this water is available to more and more people on an as-needed basis by supplying retail outlets.
You can go on and order through our website as well.
When you'd like to purchase the water, we can have it shipped right to your door.
We are also supplying Amazon, so we're on Amazon again.
We had a little bit of an issue with Amazon, but I believe we have that fixed as well.
So, really just working on faster turnover.
We're about ten days out, five to nine business days, but as I said, we just continuously add more of our own purifiers built in-house so that we can keep purifying more Davinia, giving it to more people.
And then do you want to speak to how much water people should be drinking?
We believe that most people should drink between four to six Glasses or bottles of these a day, depending upon their needs for it.
One thing that we haven't mentioned is we're starting to ship some water over to England now.
We actually are now shipping our first truckload of water, and it's going to England.
And it looks like they're selling it over there now on a mass basis.
We're starting to.
And we're hoping that one of their premier football teams, which is their soccer teams over there, and their rugby teams might be going on this water to enhance their performance too, because a lot of athletes are starting to find that this water enhances their reaction time and is enhancing their thinking and their clarity.
So just not only physically will you feel a difference with this, you feel a mental difference with it.
As you probably can testify yourself, Carrie, it seems to clarify your thinking a little bit, which I need quite a bit myself.
I do think that it is very vibrant, this water, and I know it has healing properties.
I always feel that if If I have anything in my system that's not right, if I feel not well, then I can just drink the water.
You don't need medicine or anything.
This is my view of it on a personal level.
In a sense, it's healing water.
That's how I view it and how I use it in a sense, too.
I just want to say that.
Thank you.
And we feel the same way too.
So depending upon what your goals are, our goals are not to drink dirty water, period.
Just period.
We don't want to drink unhealthy water that causes our body to have problems.
So this is all we drink in the first place.
And every employee in this building one way or another now believes that too.
Because we've had some of the people, their wives were pregnant and they were going through morning sickness and throwing up and all the other things that you might feel when you're pregnant.
And they put their wives on the water and instantly that went away.
So every single one of our employees drinks this water by choice.
They aren't forced to.
They didn't drink whatever they want, but they found out that they'd rather drink this water than anything else.
And they now are themselves firm believers that other water is contaminated.
So it's your choice whether you want to drink contaminated water or the purest water on the face of the earth.
And if you can't afford To drink this all the time, we urge that maybe in between you drink distilled water.
The problem is most of the distilled water that you drink is in plastic cartons that has particles of plastic floating around in it.
And the other reason we have to bottle, and I'll try to make this quick, in glass, is our water actually will dissolve plastic.
It cannot be stored in plastic containers.
It either has to be in a stainless steel or it has to be in glass.
And that same plastic that you're breathing and is trapped in your body, this will remove.
It will eventually dissolve it out of you.
Yep.
Well, and most waters dissolve plastic in materials over time.
Anyway, it's just because it's so energetic that this just happens at a faster rate.
We've had people say, I've poured it in styrofoam or I've let it sit in plastic and I sat and watched it and I didn't see anything happen.
It varies depending upon the plastic or the material that you're putting in the water.
There's so many variables associated.
It doesn't make sense for you to sit and watch it.
We have a lot of scientific research behind the energetic state of the water, but what we are trying to suggest is just that this water is very energetic.
And it can help remove those toxins and those materials from your biological system at a faster rate.
Okay.
Sorry, go ahead.
Well, I don't want to keep putting plastic into my body every time I drink water.
I would like to go plastic-free.
I would like to stop drinking plastic.
I'd like to stop eating it, too.
So, when we drink this water...
There is no plastic in it.
So I know I'm not adding more plastic to my body.
Obviously, very important.
So for the people, could you please give them your website?
I believe it's diviniawater.com.
Is that correct?
www.diviniawater.com.
And Divinia is spelled D-I-V-I-N-I-A. Okay, very good.
So what we want to do is have an update with you perhaps after your show airs or, you know, even, you know, just give me a heads up so we can let people know about that because I know they'd love to see that.
I know I would.
And then, you know, be in touch with me after that and maybe we can do an update and see.
If the show has any impact on your operations and gets the word out about the wonderful water you have.
So thank you so much for having the time to come on my show and taking the time.
And I wonder, you know, any parting remarks from either one or both of you?
Well, if they would like to also contribute to our cause, we do have a fundraising going on for another event.
Approximately three weeks.
If they go to startengine.com slash Davinia Water, there's a lot more documents up there they can take a look at, a lot more testimonials, and you can also get to that page from our Davinia Water.
But if they'd like to be part of this also, they can contribute to the cause and receive some stock for it.
And, you know, as always, thank you for letting us come on and just maintain communication and transparency with everyone, letting us explain where we're at and how we're doing and how we're growing.
I do know that a lot of concern for a lot of people, and they're justified in feeling this way, is the cost.
And I ask, please just understand we're small, we're growing, We don't go through traditional distribution channels that Coca-Cola or Pepsi goes through.
We're small guys.
We pay for the ground shipping through ground carriers.
We pay for all of the custom unboxing to ensure safe shipment of glass bottles.
You know, so I understand that the pricing isn't maybe where people would hope or what they would expect, but I'm asking, you know, please If you have questions, let us do and see what we can to make it affordable for you in any way, because we might be able to.
But also, just understand every year, every month, every day, we work very hard to find where we can reduce costs to make it more affordable over time.
And that's why we're putting such effort into trying to secure placement in grocery stores.
And part of our overall big plan, setting up local distribution plants That will service areas so that people can go to their local Divinia and purchase water without having to pay the last mile costs, and it reduces our carbon emissions.
So, you know, we're small.
This is our pilot plant.
We've only been around for a few years.
So, you know, just bear with us as we navigate these growing pains.
But please understand, too, we're really not trying to take advantage.
We're just trying to fund and develop this company into something that could be very beneficial for a lot of people in the future.
Absolutely, and I always like the fact, Steve, that you've talked about how The glass that water is stored in is much more biodegradable than people realize, and I think that's key because some people get the misunderstanding for some reason that glass is difficult to go back into the earth and all that.
I don't know if we have time really today to talk about The process that you went into, but I think it was in my previous interview with you.
But can you simply maybe give us a sentence or two about that process of the biodegradable nature of glass?
What's nice about glass is it's basically sand.
You heat it up and put it under pressure and it forms glass.
And then when you want to get rid of glass, you grind it back to sand again.
A lot of the Arab nations are taking all their glass and they're building their beaches and their islands with it.
New Zealand has a machine that when you are done drinking your pint of ale, you throw it in the machine, it grinds it up.
The beach people come along, get their bags of sand and put it back on the beach again.
So, from earth to earth.
Right.
Absolutely.
All right.
So I'm going to have to let you guys go.
I want to thank you again for coming on the show and, you know, can't wait to see the show that's coming out about your startup and hope people will watch this video and very seriously consider changing over to your water if they're not already using it because it is so wonderful.
And thank you again.
So take care.
You too.
Thanks, Carrie.
Thank you very much, Carrie.
Okay.
And I'll be right back.
We have to start up again for our next guest, whose name is Jane, and she is a wonderful entrepreneur, and she is doing a conference in Yelm over Labor Day, and I'm speaking at that conference.
So I'll let you guys go here, close this down, and we'll be back shortly.
Terrific.
Thank you.
Alright.
Take care.
Goodbye.
