Holly and Rodney Peete share their journey through RJ's autism diagnosis, detailing how rejecting a bleak prognosis and adopting gluten-free diets improved his connection. The episode then highlights eight-year-old Chrissy Turner, the youngest mastectomy patient for rare breast cancer, now thriving with a 100% survival rate. Dr. Christy Funk follows with lifestyle tips to halve cancer risks via vitamin D and green tea, while the "Voice Your Choice" campaign targets narcotic addiction. Finally, practical advice covers cutting grocery bills by buying individual produce and Lisa Lillien demonstrates calorie-reduced recipes like black bean brownies, proving healthy eating saves money and energy. Fighting Autism With Love00:12:44
Holly Robinson Pete and Rodney Pete.
Tell me about the moment you noticed that something just wasn't right.
The diagnosis they never expected.
I just noticed that he was just disconnected.
I went in denial.
I was doing all the wrong things.
How they found the strength to fight for their family.
Plus, how they let go of stress and juggle it all.
I rolled up my sleeves and I went to work.
Coming up next.
We'll save lives today.
You guys ready to look healthy?
This show is all about getting real, real answers to all of your health questions.
Now, we're going to start with a real power couple at the forefront of a disease that the CDC says now affects one in 45 children.
Holly Robinson Pete and her husband, Rodney Pete, are here.
Then, if you're looking to cut your risk of cancer in half, we've got the real steps to make it happen.
And Hungry Girl is back.
She's got the real ways to eat clean and lose half the calories.
But first, Holly Robinson Pete and her husband, Rodney Pete, seem to have it all.
The perfect marriage, successful careers, and four beautiful children.
But behind the scenes, this power couple was struggling with something personal and private.
It was a match made in celebrity heaven.
Holly Robinson Pete, famous for her roles on 21 Jump Street and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, married former NFL player Rodney Pete after he proposed on an episode of the show.
Yes!
The happy couple gave birth to twins just two years later.
But when their son, RJ, turned two, Holly and Rodney noticed something was wrong.
RJ was having trouble making eye contact and stopped responding to his parents.
Doctors diagnosed RJ on the autism spectrum.
RJ's diagnosis inspired the Pete family to create the Holly Rod Foundation, which provides support and resources to families affected by autism.
Today, Rodney and Holly Robinson Pete Share how family strength and positivity help them face all of life's obstacles.
Please welcome Holly Robinson Pete and Rodney Pete.
How are you?
Good to see you again.
Good to see you.
Hey.
Well, first of all, before we get started, congratulations.
I know what it takes to have a long term marriage.
You guys are talking about your 20th anniversary.
What a year.
What a year.
But here's the catch Holly says it was not love at first sight.
You didn't fall in love with this adorable man.
Can you believe it?
I was not trying to check for a quarterback in the NFL.
I didn't want an athlete.
That just wasn't what I was looking for.
I was looking for a nice doctor.
A doctor?
Dr. Pete.
But, you know, he got me.
What can I say?
He has good taste in women.
Yes, I do.
So, a lot of folks don't know this about your past, and I appreciate you sharing it to the end of the show.
But, of yours, RJ has autism.
And this is an ailment that is a lifelong process for a lot of families.
Tell me about what happened in the very beginning, the moment you noticed that something just wasn't right.
Well, I noticed when he was two that he stopped making eye contact with his twin sister, right?
So he has a twin sister and they're, you know, on the same track milestone wise.
And he withdrew from her and he disconnected.
He stopped answering to his name.
I just noticed that he was just disconnected.
And I went to Rodney and I was like, you know, what's up with him?
And Rodney was like, oh, he's fine.
He's a boy.
And, you know, his.
He's fine.
He's a boy.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I was being told, Doc.
You know, boys, twins, you know, the boys a little bit behind the girls.
The girls will develop a little bit faster.
I was like, he'll be all right, he'll grow out of this and he'll be okay.
Right.
That's what I was thinking.
So let me just go through this.
You mentioned a couple quickly, but wasn't making eye contact.
Right.
Right?
Didn't smile when he was being smiled at.
Didn't connect, didn't, and then really regressed in his language.
I mean, he just sort of went within.
Went backwards.
He regressed.
So you took him to a physician.
Rodney, what did the specialist tell you was going on and what did he tell you about the future?
Well, it was the darkest day because it was a she and you expect her to have a little bit of a bedside manner, but it was the, we call it the never day.
She said he will never look you in the eye.
He will never mainstream.
He will never say, I love you.
Never say, I love you.
Never live on his own.
Never play team sports.
And for him, that was a big deal.
Yeah, that hit hard.
Wasn't too hopeful.
Wasn't too hopeful.
That's pretty negative for almost anybody.
And we didn't see anybody advocating.
We didn't see anybody with a platform like ours having a conversation nationally about a child with autism.
What did that feel like to you, witnessing an expert?
Telling you there really wasn't a future for RJ?
Oh, it was bleak.
Cried a lot.
And then I rolled up my sleeves and I went to work, right?
Like I cried and I moved past and I was like, you know, I got my, you know, Norma Ray on and I was like, okay, I'm about to go advocate for this kid.
Rodney had a little different journey.
And what was yours?
How did it change fatherhood for you?
Well, first off, I went in denial.
You know, I didn't believe it.
First of all, I didn't know what autism was, right?
So I didn't understand it.
She educated herself and I went to the mode of, I can fix him.
You know, let me fix my son.
Let me coach him.
Let me get him right.
And I was doing all the wrong things.
And it caused friction in our relationship and it wasn't working.
Yeah.
So you went into this proactive crazy mama.
Crazy mama mode.
What do you actually do to be crazy mama?
I tried to intervene with him.
Like I tried to get in his face and just, you know, almost like, you know, like Roddy said he wanted to coach the autism out of him.
I wanted to mama the autism out of him.
But I got on my knees and I did something called Floor Time, which is a therapy that you do to help children with autism interact.
So I was just really in his face.
Face constantly and trying to, you know, pull him into our world.
And how long until you started to think this might work?
Do you have a glimmer of hope despite what the experts said?
There were moments, you know, with autism, it's like small wins, right?
So if he would react to something his sister did, you know, if he would just like connect with her and like roll his eyes at her, we were like, yes, he rolled his eyes at his sister.
Like it would sound so normal.
Right, like just normal, typical behavior.
And then later on, when we had younger kids, little brothers, they annoyed.
The heck out of them, right?
And that kind of helped him.
You know, they were like little therapists because nothing's more annoying than a little brother, right?
And so we would see him and he told his brother to shut up, and Rodney and I were like, Yes, did you hear that, baby?
Did you hear that?
He told him to shut up.
So little stuff like that.
But we also did, though, take him to an allergist.
And we wanted to discover what his sensitivities were.
And him and his sister, twin sister, had a very, very high gluten sensitivity.
Now, I didn't know what gluten was.
I'm like, is that something you Elmer's?
Like, what is that?
So I really did.
And I felt so uneducated.
I swear I have a college degree, but I didn't know what was going on.
So gluten is wheat, basically, and it's in everything.
And we found that when he ate wheat, he was disconnected more.
You could see it that way.
You could see it like sugar.
You know how sugar makes your kids go on a sugar high?
He would go on a gluten high.
So we removed that from his diet.
We saw that helped a little bit.
So we just tried little things along the way.
I'm sure that as much as the kids affected RJ, he affected them.
And we teamed up with Rod, and he's good at building teams.
I made a little video for you.
I want you all to see this because it's a home video with RJ, who you're going to get to meet.
But I got to say, that little character, Roman, to pay attention to a superstar in the making, a little surprise.
Take a look.
Thank you, Mom, for always being there for me.
Thanks, Mom.
I love you, and I appreciate everything you do.
Thank you, Mom, because without you, I wouldn't be here, because that's how it works.
Hey, yo, Mom, thank you for raising me, my mother.
You're the best mother anybody can have.
Thank you, Mom.
Thank you, Mom.
Aww.
Hello, Mommy, love.
Hey, Mama, you teaching that?
We need to hear that every now and then, right?
Well, you deserve to hear that.
Oh, thank you.
Yeah, that Roman, I don't know where he comes up with these accents from.
He's not from the South.
I don't know what's happening.
Oh, that's awesome.
Thank you.
Well, thank you for letting us do it.
What amazed me was RJ.
If you don't want to stop there, you know, he didn't perfectly interact, but that is darn good.
He's a high school student now, right?
I heard a rumor that he said, I love you.
Oh, he says it all the time, especially when he wants Rihanna tickets.
Yeah.
When he wants something.
So, here's a big question How do Holly and Ronnie jingle four kids, two dogs, and then hectic careers?
When we come back with good looking family there, Holly and her quarterback husband share their halftime shortcuts.
Check it out.
Next, from kids' sports to big family dinners, Holly and Rodney reveal their go-to recipes and tips all parents should have on hand.
Even my 50-year-old child loves meatball.
Everyday secrets to cut down on stress so you have more time to yourselves.
Next.
We bust the number one biggest health myth Americans believe.
You'll never guess what it is.
Then, ear stapling.
Is it the weight loss shortcut you've been waiting for or a dangerous scam?
And, Kristen Cavallari speaks out on her car accident and her brother's sudden death.
All nuance.
That's coming up tomorrow.
I have all these people calling me, a team from Hollyrod calling me every day.
I got sponsorships I got to sell.
There's no way in the world I can go away.
But maybe after it airs.
So, for 20 years, all we're going to do is go to dinner for 20 years.
Well, I don't know.
But we can do something like local.
Staycation it is.
We'll stay here.
I got it.
I'll take care of it.
I'll take care of everything.
I have no idea what I'm going to do.
She doesn't seem so confident now.
That was a scene from their new docu series, For Pete's Sake, which airs unknown.
Whose idea was it to have cameras follow you around for 24 7?
Hers.
She made me do it.
Yeah, he made me do it.
We woke up and, you know, 35 people were in our house.
You know, just a typical Tuesday.
It was a little day.
Taking care of business.
Yeah, yeah, why not?
Why not?
Yeah, Rodney went along with it.
Made it happen.
It worked out.
All right, since you're a football loving family, you decided to share with us your halftime tips.
These things are going to cut the chore time in half.
There's one coming over.
Holly's got the first one.
Yeah.
How do you feed a hungry family a six?
Well, when you don't have a lot of time.
You got to keep it moving, Dr. Oz.
And one of the things I do is I make a beef stew, I throw in crock pots, save so much time.
You throw in beef, obviously.
You got your seasonings and your broth, your potatoes, and it just smells good, right?
It does smell good.
And tons of vegetables, and it just cooks all day.
You like, you know, set it and forget it, or so they say, right?
And so I'm just going to pour you a little bit here.
And I'll pour this.
Yeah, there you go.
Why is this so fast?
Chicken pot pie, right?
So every kid loves chicken pot pie.
You get the store bought crust already made, and you just put it in, and you can actually put some of this in here and cook it up, but I actually like to put Chicken pot pie stuff in there.
Love it.
So simple, so easy.
This is to die for, by the way.
I was up all night making that.
Okay.
That's how she saves time.
Now, speaking of saving time, meatballs.
I mean, what kid doesn't love meatballs?
All my kids do.
Even the big kids.
Even a big kid.
Even my 50 year old child loves meatballs.
And here's meatballs.
And you just have to freeze them because then you just take them out of the freezer and you have an instant meal.
And every kid loves spaghetti and meatballs.
We do turkey, we do beef, we do it all.
Kids help you make them or you make them on your own?
One of them likes to cook, the rest of them just like to be served.
I can't imagine what Roman is on that list.
Yeah, that's Roman.
Now, the other thing we got to do, of course, is take the kids to activities, and sports is a big part of that.
And you got to have a halftime tip.
The Miracle Child Story00:04:56
Maybe, Rodney, you can help us with this.
With all those things going on in your life and heading off to watch these kids perform, what makes it all happen without you forgetting 50 things?
Well, you got to store the car.
So you got to have the car ready for everything.
And first off, you got to make sure you have a chair, right?
So you have something.
Holly's got to be comfortable.
You know, the queen's got to be comfortable, so we got to have that.
Although you would have had yours again.
Cardinal in gold.
Probably for USC, yes, absolutely.
You never know when it's going to rain, so we've got to have the umbrella ready to go.
There's your umbrella.
No, sunscreen for the kids.
One thing you don't want to do is you want to have to go back home and pick up things.
You want to have this in your car at all times.
And what's in there?
So these are snacks, just in case you get a little hungry.
Kids come over, whatever.
Holly gets hungry and snacks, you know.
Holly.
Got to keep the woman happy.
Holly is good, man.
I'm going to imagine.
Plenty of water, plenty of fluids.
All right.
You're ready to go.
So listen.
As stressed out as you guys are with all the things you have in your life.
Ooh.
What are these?
Oh, car keys.
Oh, they're not yours, they're mine.
Oh, darn.
Yeah, sorry about that.
Oh, I had a new car.
That was a mean one.
And you have a car, and you have a car.
No, I got you a bottle of wine and a jazz CD so you can cut your stress in half and double your romance.
Thank you.
Yeah, baby.
Congratulations on all you guys have done.
It's wonderful.
Holly and Roddy TV show.
For Pete's sake, Air Sun Owned.
You got to check your local listings.
It's a great show.
Be right back.
Next, imagine being told your eight-year-old daughter has breast cancer.
Total collapse.
Disbelief.
Meet this brave little girl and her family.
She's the youngest ever to have undergone a mastectomy.
Her unbelievable story is that.
Heard about the bravery of eight year old Chrissy Turner.
I immediately wanted to meet her and her amazing parents.
She's the youngest person to have undergone a medical procedure of its kind.
This little girl is a real fighter and she's an inspiration to us all.
It's a story making headlines around the world.
A startling medical case that's gone viral and has everyone talking.
An eight year old girl diagnosed with breast cancer.
In October, after Chrissy Turner pointed out a lump in her chest to her mother, She was immediately taken to the doctor.
The family was stunned when a biopsy revealed secretory breast carcinoma, an extremely rare and slow growing form of breast cancer that affects only one in a million.
Breast cancer is almost unheard of in children, making this third grader's case even more exceptional.
In early December, Chrissy underwent a single mastectomy.
Now her family and the world wait, watch, and hope this courageous eight year old can go back to the business of being a kid.
Chrissy's parents, Annette and Troy, are here.
Thank you very much for being here.
Chrissy's going to come out in a few minutes, but I want to start off with the two of you.
Take me back to the moment you first heard that Chrissy had breast cancer devastation, total collapse, disbelief, fear.
Absolutely.
It was terrifying.
I mean, your whole world flashes before your eyes, you know, or rather stops, stands still, and you just realize that, you know, things are never going to be the same.
So, how did you tell your beautiful eight year old daughter that she has breast cancer?
That was the toughest thing.
The look on her face was like she'd seen a ghost.
And the only cancer that she'd ever dealt with is she lost her grandfather to leukemia, and daddy lost all his hair.
She was only one year old when he was diagnosed.
So, for her, she just has really, you know, bad memories of cancer, obviously.
So, the good news is, A couple weeks ago, Chrissy underwent a mastectomy on her right side.
Surgery went well.
And the other good news is that young, beautiful patients like your daughter have 100% survival rate pretty much.
Yeah.
Which is so fabulous, although she had to go through a lot to get there.
So, y'all want to meet Chrissy?
Come on now.
Chrissy, come join us.
Smile, you have.
Thank you.
Are you feeling okay?
Yeah.
That was a little bit of a scary surgery, wasn't it?
Yeah.
I tell you, I love your earrings.
I love your blouse.
Cutting Cancer Risks Naturally00:10:40
Can I see those a little better?
So, what's your favorite thing to do in school?
Probably art and just hanging out with my friends.
Art and hanging out with your friends.
That may never change, by the way, for the rest of your life.
So, if I understand correctly, your big sister Brianna has been a little helpful, pretty cool about all this.
Yeah.
Do you see her over there?
Yeah.
What are your biggest supporters?
Probably my family.
Was it good to have her around?
Yeah.
You get to play with her toys now?
Yeah.
You get to wear her clothes once in a while?
Yeah, she did give me a few shirts.
What's these balloons you've been playing with?
What are they about?
Well, I got a gift just.
Hanging well, tied onto my doorknob, so we decided to write messages on our balloons.
I wrote some of my favorite things.
What kinds of favorite things did you write in the balloons?
So I wrote one message and then I wrote like velociraptor balloon.
Velociraptor?
Yeah.
Make it be deadly, you know.
But you're not scared by velociraptors, you just beat cancer.
Is that right?
Yeah.
What's left?
All right.
So, I want to ask you if you want to say something to all the folks out there who are wondering how you stayed so brave in the face of all this.
I just looked up to God and my family and just hung on.
And I spent time and just kept my mind off of it.
You know what you said that's so beautiful and so true?
You just hung on.
People just came.
All you gotta do is hang on, and people will come.
Hope you never forget that.
And thanks for sharing your wonderful wisdom with us.
Listen, I got a little something for you.
I want you, if you don't mind.
I know you like drawing stuff.
So I didn't pick all these up myself, but this is what my kids would have wanted at your age.
So you can pick anyone you want.
I'm kidding, get the whole thing.
Thank you for being here.
Christine's story has touched so many of us and more than 1,500 people have already donated to help her family with medical expenses, be part of the cause at the Christine's GoFundMe account.
Thank you all very much and have a great day.
Good luck, Gabriel.
We'll be right back.
Next, is it possible to cut your cancer risk in half?
We check in with Angelina Jolie's oncologist to find out.
Learn how to harness the power of your diet to fight back against cancer.
Simple things you can do today to reduce your risk tomorrow.
Next.
We bust the biggest health myth Americans believe.
You'll never guess what it is.
Then, ear stapling.
Is it a weight loss shortcut or a dangerous scam?
All nuance.
That's coming up tomorrow.
This show is all about cutting it in half.
But can you cut your cancer risk in half?
The answer may surprise you.
Many cancers are linked to lifestyle, which is within your control.
Now, you all know the obvious changes you need to make, right?
You know about the sun exposure, too much of that, and making sure your weight's the right weight, and forget those cigarettes.
But in addition to these, there are simple things you can do today to reduce your risk of cancer tomorrow.
World renowned surgical oncologist Dr. Christy Funk is here.
Now, you may know her as the surgeon who did Angelina Jolie's procedures, her operations.
How are you?
I'm great.
How are you?
Told everyone that I thought we could cut down our cancer risk quite dramatically.
I know how to do that.
How are you going to do it?
Well, you know, everybody wants that magical super berry that they just pop that and cancer doesn't have a chance.
But unfortunately, it takes a daily, deliberate choice.
You want to infuse known cancer fighting compounds into breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
And it's that compound effect of all these working together that don't give cancer a chance.
So, we're going to give everyone three tips.
The first one the way you're going to cut your cancer risk has to do with vitamin D and your breakfast.
Why are folks so excited about this?
And what's the actual tip?
Okay, so vitamin D is like this sexy newcomer, even though it's been around well since we were born.
But it's the sunshine vitamin, and it is important for everyone to listen up because over 40% of Americans are vitamin D deficient.
And if you could optimize and harness the power in vitamin D, adding to your breakfast things like portobello mushroom and eggs, the D's in the yolk, so eat that, you literally can cut over 16 different types of cancer, including well known pancreas, breast, ovary, prostate, lung, and skin.
Vitamin D. All right, the next way to cut your cancer risk.
Now, for a lot of you guys, if you're especially glass half full kind of people, is that half full or half empty, guys?
What do you think?
Hard to tell.
With cancer, it's scary no matter what.
So you've got a way of finishing out the glass.
Yes, you've got to power up that water with green tea.
So I love green tea.
Honestly, truly, the evidence is so strong about green tea and cutting cancer risk, particularly breast cancer risk, I know can be cut in half by three cups of green tea a day.
All right, the final rule, the number one rule, Is a food rule around cancer and has to do with anti inflammatory foods.
So, what foods do we have to actually incorporate into our diets besides the chickens of the world?
Right, so lean meats are good, but you want to eat things that spring up naturally out of the ground.
Green leafy vegetables like spinach and kale, you top that with some peppers and tomatoes and anti inflammatory walnuts, and basically all of those toxins and free radicals in your body don't stand a chance against this cancer kicking dinner.
Cancer kicker?
I'm gonna.
We're always one upping ourselves between the heart surgeon and the cancer surgeon, so this is my little surprise for you all.
This is my little secret.
I don't want you to forget to use spices to turn any meal into an anti inflammatory meal.
So, this is a tip that I've just learned, but it's becoming very popular.
You take curcumin, right?
That's a compound in turmeric.
Looks like this.
Beautiful color.
The American Cancer Society argues that you mix that with a teaspoonful of olive oil, a little bit of black pepper to help the absorption.
And you can add it.
You can do it the way Christy's doing it as well.
Put it on your chicken, for example.
Put it on any protein you're having, and it makes it into an anti inflammatory meal.
Now, I want to ask one more favor of you.
We've been talking this season a lot about the problems with narcotics being prescribed to patients, which is, I think, giving rise to a lot of the addiction.
You know, the number one cause of accidental death in Americans under age 50 is now related to addiction.
And a lot of that's because people are getting narcotics in a doctor's office.
You're part of a campaign that doesn't use narcotics.
Please explain this.
Well, the Voice Your Choice campaign is headed up by healthywomen.org.
And basically, we're trying to educate women and all people that there are non narcotic ways to control pain before, during, and after.
After operations, such that the pain is already under such great control, narcotics on the back end can be limited or eliminated altogether.
It's a serious problem.
Narcotic addiction needs to stop with the doctors who are prescribing it.
50% of women who get addicted had their first narcotic taste from normal post operative pain, like a C section.
Yeah, and people don't realize how addictive it is.
I know how passionate you are about it because you joined the campaign.
Thanks for being here and sharing all this wonderful information.
Dr. Funk, we'll be right back.
Has the cost of your grocery become your number one obstacle for not eating right?

And all show long, we've been cutting everything in half.
And now, your grocery bill.
It's the number one obstacle to eating healthy the cost.
That stops today.
We have found the best secrets to save big at the supermarket.
And I sent my friend and my go to, Renata, to put them to the test to find out how well they really work.
Dr. Oz, you don't have to be rich in order to be healthy.
All you have to have is saving swagger to be a savvy shopper.
I'm putting some of my best.
Money saving tips to the test to make sure that you know how to cut your grocery bill in half.
Tip number one don't buy produce in bulk.
Individual tomatoes, avocados, peppers, and carrots are almost always cheaper individually than in multi packs or in mesh bags.
Tip number two buy a larger cut of meat and have the butcher trim it for you.
You don't need to buy individual packets of meat to get your healthy dose of protein because that'll cost you.
You can just buy one big roast and have the butcher cut this up for you for some soup, grind it up for patties, and you can make a pot roast.
This piece of meat is equivalent to all these right here.
Tip number three save money on seafood by thawing it yourself.
You don't have to spend mega money on omega 3s.
I get it.
Seafood labeled thawed or previously frozen can often be found in the frozen aisle.
Thawed fish can be marked up almost 50%.
Tip number four check the unit price per size for the best deal.
Now, look here.
This 13 ounce box of brand cereal filled with fiber is $5.59.
But this box, twice the size at 25 ounces, is $6.29.
Now, say you buy one large box for once a month for a year, that's $75.
Compared to buying two smaller boxes, which adds up to $135 a year.
Now that does not make any sense, so I'm going to get the bigger box and I can do my squats at the same time.
Smart Grocery Shopping Hacks00:02:23
Yes, watch me now.
Okay, it's time for me to check out.
I've got my coupons and my manager specials.
Let's see if I cut my grocery bill in half.
Gosh, I love you now.
The squats, huh?
The squats.
So, you were so many surprises.
What motivated you to be such a savvy shopper?
Well, I mean, you know I'm a girl of many talents, right?
I have learned that.
Okay, hello, yes.
But I also have a degree in economics from Drew University.
Any druids in the house?
You do?
Yeah, I do.
That's wonderful.
Yeah, so listen, I can't have a degree in economics and not be mindful about my coin, okay?
No, I can't do that.
Okay, so that makes me a savvy shopper and a penny pincher, and I can't.
Standpan retail, okay?
So, with my coupons and my savvy shopping, the grocery bill is cut in half.
All right, so you see, there's one health item that you are better off buying online than in that grocery store you're in.
What's that?
Toilet paper.
Yeah.
Toilet paper?
Toilet paper.
Don't touch your pearls, not you, but I see you.
Don't touch your pearls.
Toilet paper.
Toilet paper is cheaper when you buy it online than in the grocery store, okay?
Yes, it's cheaper.
All right, so you got a little challenge.
For me, I have a little challenge.
Come on over here.
This is called the toilet paper challenge.
Yes.
So, what am I challenged over here?
What do you have and what do I have?
All right.
So, let me let you in on a little secret, okay?
This is our secret, okay?
Just the two of us.
Yeah, just the two of us.
So, two ply toilet tissue, okay?
I want you to take this, okay?
You're going to take that and I'm going to take the one ply, all right?
You have one ply.
One ply, yes.
So, two ply is a little softer, you know?
Two ply is softer, but I mean, it's all going in the same place, right?
Yes.
Okay, hello.
So, okay, so the two ply toilet paper is $57.
Feet per roll at 70 cents.
Uh huh.
Uh huh.
I'm going.
I'm going.
Okay.
So, and the one ply is 341 feet at 75 cents, and it's only five cents more.
Hello.
Okay.
So, I think I'm going to go with the one ply.
All right.
Now, all you, you know, bougie, half a looting folk, y'all can go on with the two ply, but I'm going with the one ply.
See, I'm just going.
I'm going.
Delicious Low-Calorie Oatmeal00:12:07
Oh, my God.
She's still going.
I'm going.
She's walking through the whole studio.
Here I come.
While you're doing that, look at this, it's unbelievable.
So while she's doing that, the grocery bill, when she went shopping, right?
Remember, we're going to slash all those prices?
I'm here.
Oh, you're back here already?
I'm still going.
I'm still going.
You still have toilet paper?
How much is in that thing?
341 feet for five feet more.
Go around you.
Go around.
Okay, can you get that out of my way, please?
Thank you.
I could have used them, but this is crazy.
Yeah, and I still have more left.
Five cents more.
Get the OnePlus.
I learned about the OnePlus.
So, before all those price slashing secrets, a week at groceries would have cost $165, but thanks to Renata, she only spent $81.
That's less than half of what you've already spent.
She cut it in half, and she's still going.
You did it, babe.
You did it.
Nice job.
We'll be right back.
Next, hungry girl Lisa Lillian is teaching millions how to eat clean.
I really pay attention to what people want.
Easy to make recipes that cut calories in half and keep you satisfied.
Her new spin on how to lose weight and keep it on.
That's coming up next.
We bust the biggest health myth Americans believe.
You'll never guess what it is.
Then, ear stapling.
Is it a weight loss shortcut or a dangerous scam?
All nuance.
That's coming up tomorrow.
Listeners to your real diet questions, and it continues with cutting everything in half, including your calories.
Hungry Girl Lisa Lillian is back.
Lisa Lillian, I gotta say her name right.
She's Hungry Girl, you all know her.
She's gonna help make recipes that will help you lose weight and keep you satisfied.
And she's doing it with an all new spin.
She's using only all natural ingredients, little to no added sugar.
It's gonna be high in protein and fiber, you all know that's important.
And of course, low in calories and low in carbs.
So you're gonna lose the weight and you're gonna keep it off because these principles are sound.
Lisa is joining us.
How are you, Lisa?
Good to see you.
So, what's inspired you to adopt these new principles?
Well, as many people know, I've been sending my Hungry Girl Daily emails out for a dozen years, and I really pay attention to what people want.
And over the past year, I've been hearing about people wanting cleaner ingredients, more all natural ingredients, and they want to eat clean, but they're confused by the concept, and it's a little bit intimidating.
So, I thought it would be a great idea to really break it down and simplify it and help people eat clean in the real world.
And another part of that is people think if they're eating clean ingredients that they're automatically going to lose weight.
But that's just not the case.
So you have to really watch your calories.
And I'm all about huge portions, great calorie counts.
Everything in the book has 375 calories or less.
Thank you for clapping for the low calories.
And they're all delicious.
It's hard to put it all together.
That's why you're so successful.
In fact, Hungry Girl has a track record of helping millions of people lose weight without feeling hungry.
That's why it works.
Now, here's what one of Lisa's biggest fans has to say.
Take a look.
Hi, Lisa.
It's Melissa.
You know, I was 252 pounds at my heaviest, and I did not know how I was going to lose the weight.
And someone told me about your website, hungrygirl.com, and you've been such a huge part of my weight loss journey.
Thank you so much.
I can never say it enough because you've changed my life.
So, Lisa is going to show everybody at home how you can all be as successful as Melissa was.
What a remarkable transformation.
She looks amazing.
And it happens again because there are simple things done right every day.
So, Lisa's got a peach.
Cobbler breakfast, and it's a no cook option.
No cook, it is so easy, and I love it.
Never goes in the oven.
Never goes in the oven.
It cooks while you sleep, which is even better.
You should clap for that too.
And peach cobbler, I love dessert inspired breakfast.
This is an overnight oats.
I don't know if you're familiar with overnight oats, but they're so easy to make.
You use old fashioned oats.
I use a little almond milk.
It stays in the fridge overnight, and in the morning, you just assemble the ingredients.
And you're gonna make a parfait now.
I hope, don't, you know, are you up for it?
I'm up for it.
Let's go for it.
So this is the overnight oats.
That's the first layer.
Oh, we're going to do half.
Yes, sorry.
That's my fault.
Yeah, I thought you'd watch.
Half the oats, then half the Greek yogurt.
This is Greek yogurt mixed with a little bit of sweetener, a little bit of vanilla.
And then here's the peach cobbler part.
This is peaches with a little cinnamon.
You don't have to.
It could be messy.
The messier, the better, right?
We like to be messy in the kitchen.
You put the oats in the fridge.
Yes.
You baste it in milk.
Is it all one?
Yeah, you know, you add the almond milk and the oats and a little sweetener, a little salt, a little vanilla.
And the flavor is phenomenal, and the texture is perfect, and the almond milk makes it really, really creamy.
And honestly, you would never know that this is not like a fantastic, delicious dessert parfait.
It's a dessert, and it's a breakfast.
Who's this back?
This was a race, by the way.
Yours, oh, I lost.
It's a race.
It looks good, but most importantly, obviously, you said it earlier, it makes itself while you're sleeping.
Yes, while you're sleeping.
And then you do the little assembly in the morning.
This has almost 20 grams of protein, like 18 and a half grams of protein, so it's great.
It's a really good breakfast.
And the day off diet, that was our recommendation that you have 20 grams of protein in the morning because that way you'll feel satiated all day.
So, regular serving of peach cobbler, which you all love, 419 calories.
Hungry Girls Peach Cobbler Parfait for breakfast, 284 calories.
That's worth it.
I know, I know everything you make.
Actually, you know what?
I'm going to taste the oats because the oats are the only problem I have in this thing.
Oh, you're going to love them.
They're sweet.
They're good.
All right.
Hungry Girls has another little thing.
I want you to take a look at this.
You're going to love it.
It's her five step slow cooker chicken fajitas.
this.
Weren't my hands fast in that?
Yeah, oh, perfect.
But they're not my hands.
We actually have a wonderful web team.
They made these videos, make a lot of them.
They're all over DrOz.com.
You check them out.
But this one's particularly good.
And show me what you actually do with it.
So it looks like this when we're done.
It is such a great, easy recipe.
Again, slow cooker recipes.
You set it and forget it.
You can go to work.
You could let them cook.
You do whatever you need to do.
And you can use a traditional flour or corn tortilla.
Or if you want to save more calories and carbs, you could use lettuce to wrap your fajitas in.
So watch this.
If you really want to show off.
Yeah, if you really want to watch this.
Come on, get ready.
I'm going to make it all messy.
There it is.
You saw how neat I was with the oatmeal.
This is so embarrassing to spill that.
And it looks like this.
Yeah, and it's really delicious.
It tastes like traditional fajitas for a fraction of the calories.
Again, 20 more grams of protein, so you can't beat it.
A regular serving of chicken fajitas in a restaurant, go out today, 437 calories on average.
We're going to keep saying that until you get that joke.
So low, Maine.
So low, Maine.
It takes only 30 minutes to prepare.
So, how do you do it?
So, yeah, I mean, the key here is to use a spiralizer.
Do you have one of these, babies?
Have you seen one of these?
I'll cook this one.
You want to try it?
Because I'll let you do it or I'll do it.
Up to you.
We don't practice this much.
But do you guys have spiralizers?
They're amazing and it's so easy.
It's all about the zucchini noodles, okay?
Now, the beauty of zucchini noodles, you save hundreds of calories.
Tons of carbs.
The problem with Lomaine is it's so starchy, so many carbs, and tons of oil, which you just don't have in this recipe at all.
Okay, look at this.
Look at these.
Beautiful.
This is like a pencil.
Do not try to use it as a pencil.
But yeah, I don't know if you've ever made zucchini noodles.
If you don't have a spiralizer, you could just use like a vegetable peeler, but these things are so affordable.
They're inexpensive, they're easy to use, and they make magical, magical recipes.
The low main is just one of many in the book.
So, low main is one of the most popular dishes in America.
If you go to a neighborhood Chinese restaurant, it's going to take you 730 calories of activity to get done because that's how much it will have in it.
If you go for Hungry Girls Slow Main, now you'll be so low main, you'll be applauding this one 266 calories.
The Slow Main.
I am posting all these recipes to y'all at drrhars.com.
Take advantage of them.
You'll end up with a nice pencil when you're done as well.
But we're not finished yet.
Up next, Hungry Girls Decadent Peanut Butter Brownie with only half the calories.

Hungry Girl Lisa Lillian is cutting calories in half without sacrificing taste.
We're putting her to the test, even with my favorite part of a meal, which is dessert.
Now, our audience has been tasting these peanut butter brownies.
I can see from the looks in your face, you seem to enjoy them.
Describe the taste to me.
It's like creamy, fudgy, it's delicious.
Creamy, fudgy?
It's delectable.
It reminds me of a Reese's peanut butter cup.
Ooh, I've got some twins up here.
Yeah, different words now.
They're really rich.
They're not too sweet, but they're really good.
You were going to say rich, weren't you?
Yeah.
Twins always do that.
All right.
What's the secret?
How do you do it?
Believe it or not, these brownies, the main ingredient is black beans, okay?
Black beans!
And you would never taste it.
My 12 year old nephew said it's the best brownie he's ever eaten.
So there's cocoa powder, black beans, pumpkin, applesauce, egg whites, all good for your ingredients, loaded with fiber.
They have protein.
And did you use powdered peanut butter?
Here's the thing the topping is a part powdered peanut butter.
Part regular peanut butter, so you save the calories and fat there.
Powdered peanut butter is magical.
Again, it's like defatted peanut flour.
You mix it a little bit with water, and it's perfect.
So, a normal brownie of this size is 440 calories.
This one is 9,000.
No.
This one, how many girls, peanut butter brownie?
116 calories.
Look how big this is.
Look how big it is.
Now, for this peanut butter brownie recipe, and you get the 411 on baking with beans, you head over to draz.com and see all the things Lisa's been doing.
Is this all they're getting is brownies today?
