Daily Truth host argues that modern society wrongly defines victims based on emotional social media narratives rather than formal trials, citing Deuteronomy 19:20-21 to demand equal punishment for false witnesses. He contends that platforms like Facebook and Twitter act as unauthorized judges, often punishing the falsely accused while ignoring biblical standards of diligence. Ultimately, the episode asserts that true justice requires verifying truth over speed, urging listeners to support this biblically faithful perspective through reviews to combat shadow banning. Victim Is Who Arrives First00:03:28
All right, listen, guys, I get it.
Many of you are unable to financially support this ministry because you're spending your cash and your lives on raising young children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Praise God for you and that endeavor.
However, algorithms are a thing.
Shadow banning, sadly, is a thing.
And one major way that you can help to expand the reach and effectiveness of this ministry that doesn't cost you a dime is by spending just a few moments leaving us a five star review.
Also, perhaps even more effective than that, you can share our podcast with a friend.
We hope you'll take the time to do so.
Thank you so much.
God bless.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
Deuteronomy 19, look at verse 20.
And the rest shall hear and fear, and shall never again commit any such evil among you.
Then, verse 21, your eye shall not pity.
Could you imagine how accurate and how truthful justice would actually be carried out in our nation if we said, if you bear false witness and you are found out, the very same punishment for the alleged criminal you're bearing false witness about will come down on your head?
That's God's law.
That's good.
It's righteous.
Right?
So, if you're bearing false witness, That this person has abused you, perhaps sexually, abused you, but it's not true, it's false.
Then, whatever the punishment for that crime would have been for him, if it is found out that you bore false witness, you go to jail.
See, in our society, the victim is whoever makes it into the room first.
Have you noticed that?
The victim is whoever makes it into the room first.
But by God's standard, the victim is whoever truly was victimized.
See, because if somebody comes into my office as a pastor and says, Pastor Joel, Pastor Joel, da and then all of a sudden, the alleged guilty party that that person is indicting, they come into my office and they say something else, and then me and the elders as judges, we inquire diligently, like Deuteronomy tells us to do, and then we find that the first person who came into the office who was saying, you know, this happened to me, injustice happened,
I was treated unfairly, it turns out that that's false.
Well, then, you know who the victim is?
The victim is the person who's falsely accused.
See, we only think in terms of victim as far as who can weave together the most poignant, heart wrenching, violent, throbbing narrative, and whoever makes it into the room first.
So, whoever makes it into the room, the room can be the proverbial room of Facebook, the proverbial room of Twitter, it can be the pastor's office, it can be whatever.
It can be that side little social hangout where there's 15 people there and someone's gossiping.
That's a room, right, where the story is told.
And what we do is we say, whoever makes it to the room first, whoever tells their story first, if it's a story that comes first and it's a good story, those are the only two criteria for justice in our culture today.
Justice For The Best Story00:01:09
I'm serious.
Fast story, good story.
Fast story, good story.
That's it.
If you can get the story out fast and you can make it pulling the strings of the heart enough, you win.
And if it never goes to any formal trial, it doesn't matter.
Because you function as the judge, jury, executioner, all in the platform of social media.
You're able to try the person, hang them up, and crucify them.
It's done.
But what the Bible teaches us is that if somebody comes in claiming to be a victim, but it turns out that what they're saying is untrue, then the person that they cited as the victimizer is actually the true victim.
The Bible says, do justice, not social justice.
Do justice, but also at the same time, while loving mercy and walking humbly before you go.
Thanks so much for listening.
But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor.
Take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
This is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible.
