DAILY TRUTH - The Ministry Of The Holy Spirit

Daily Truth host Joel explores the Holy Spirit's ministry, linking Genesis 2's hovering Spirit to Luke 1:34-35 where the Spirit conceives Jesus. He emphasizes that God is relational and triune, asserting the Spirit fills believers as indwelt temples rather than leaving them orphaned. By providing grace through the Advocate, Counselor, and Comforter, the segment concludes that this divine filling offers profound comfort to those wrestling with doubts about God's love. Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
God is personal.
And in this, I might add that God is relational.
He is triune.
And we see the Trinity in the very beginning of the book of Genesis.
The Spirit of God, we see in verse 2 of our text, is hovering, or some translations say, brooding above the waters.
It's the very same verbiage that's used of the Holy Spirit in Luke chapter 1.
I believe it's verse 34 and 35, with Mary, the mother of Jesus.
She asked, Well, how can this be?
Since I have never known a man, how could I be the mother of the Savior as a virgin?
And Gabriel, the angel, says, The Holy Spirit will come and he will hover above you.
He will brood and you will conceive.
Did you know that one of the chief ministries of the Holy Spirit is that he has a filling ministry?
He filled the womb of the Virgin with the Son of God.
He filled the waters and the sky with birds and fish as he brooded above the sea.
And to this very day, in his salvific work, he fills the new creature.
The new creation with his very own indwelt presence as we become the temple of the Holy Spirit himself.
The Holy Spirit fills creation.
And in the same way that the Holy Spirit fills original creation that we see in Genesis chapter 1, he fills the new creation, not leaving us as orphans as Jesus promised, but giving to us the advocate, the helper, the counselor, the comforter who fills us and gives us grace.
