Daily Truth host challenges listeners to recognize death not as a natural friend but as God's just judgment on sin, citing Genesis 5 where only Enoch escapes the "death bell." While culture attempts to beautify this enemy of Christ, the host argues that acknowledging both God's grace through Jesus and impending righteous judgment is essential for true holiness. Ultimately, standing before God will expose every hidden heart motive, urging believers to reject naive comfort and embrace the reality of divine accountability. [Automatically generated summary]

Death As An Enemy00:02:31
Hey guys, real quick before we get started, I have a small request.
If you've been blessed by our content and you like this show, would you take just a brief moment and leave us a five star review?
This is quite possibly the most effective thing that you can do to ensure that this content gets out to as many people as possible.
Thanks.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
We must be very careful not to call what our Lord Jesus Himself calls an enemy our friend.
That should be a warning to us.
When Jesus calls something an enemy and you and I call it our friend, death is not our friend.
Death is not beautiful.
Death is not natural.
Death is a vivid reminder that each of us have rebelled against God and that our God is.
Is holy, holy, holy, and that he justly sins his righteous judgments toward those who sin against him.
Genesis chapter 5, our text today, is God's memento mori.
It is a reminder of the death bell that tolls for all save one in our text.
And we'll look at the person of Enoch here in a moment.
But you and I must understand that death is coming for each of us.
Our culture tries to distract us from death.
Our culture attempts to hide death behind a corner, to where it's something that we don't think about.
It's something that we don't truly acknowledge.
And when certain things happen in our culture, certain natural disasters, certain current events, war, and all these kinds of things, where death is so prevalent it is inescapable, where we're forced to look at death in the face.
What we do is we, as a culture, paint a smile on death's face.
So if we cannot distract people from death, we try to beautify death.
We try to make it something wonderful.
We don't acknowledge death for what God says it is.
Death is not wonderful.
Death is not beautiful.
Death is not natural.
Death is an enemy of Christ, and it is God's just judgment for sinners.
Gospel Motivation Toward Holiness00:01:15
The grace of God through Jesus Christ, the gospel, is a powerful motivator towards holiness.
And the holiness and judgment. Of God and our impending death is also a powerful motivator towards holiness.
Let us not be so naive, let us not be so narrow that we accept one motivation while rejecting the other.
Are we gospel centered?
Yes.
Is the gospel a strong wind in our sails propelling us towards a life of holiness?
Yes.
But is the holiness of God Himself?
And the fact that each one of us one day will stand before him and that everything in our hearts will be laid bare, is that also a great motivation for us to put sin to death in this life by grace?
Yes, we should remember both.
Thanks so much for listening.
But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor, take a moment, and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
This is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible.
