Daily Truth host argues Biblical masculinity faces an existential threat as culture, influenced by sitcoms like Everybody Loves Raymond, shifts from abusive men to apathetic, passive figures. Citing Genesis 1 and 2, the speaker asserts God ordained women as non-mutual helpmates before sin entered, meaning feminism stems from the curse rather than Christ's conquest. While acknowledging male abuse, the host emphasizes Adam's failure over dominance, warning that society has discarded vital leadership by accepting media portrayals of lazy husbands. Ultimately, this cultural emasculation requires repentance to restore the original divine order where men lead and women serve as helpmates. [Automatically generated summary]

Culture Intentionally Emasculates Men00:02:43

Thanks.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
What do we see in Genesis 1 and 2?
That God created man and woman at the same time?
No.
First the man, then the woman.
But God created both of them from the dust of the ground?
No.
The man from the dust of the ground.
The woman was formed from man and for man.
And then both were assigned to be mutual helpmates of one another?
No.
The woman was called to be a helpmate of her husband and not the other way around.
That does not mean that a husband can't ever help his wife.
But there is a difference.
It is not a mutual flowing both direction kind of situation.
It's not.
A husband can lovingly help his wife and should, but he is not called and ordained by God to be her helpmate in the way that she has been uniquely called and ordained by God to be his helpmate.
And so all of this is before sin ever entered the world.
All this is pre Genesis chapter 3.
We see very clearly that God's good created order.
Introduces complementarian relationships between men and women.
So Christ conquering the curse has nothing to do with it.
Because the curse isn't what introduced complementarianism.
What did the curse introduce?
Complementarianism?
No.
Your aversion to complementarianism.
That's what the text says very clearly.
So what's the result of the curse?
That men are called to leave?
The result of the curse is that women.
Won't want men to lead.
The result of the curse is feminism.
It's very clear.
And we need to recognize that.
Have men abused leadership?
Yes, absolutely.
But again, that's not our text.
So our text is not primarily talking about Adam being abusive.
Now, it does speak to great lengths of Adam's failure.
But in this case, it's not Adam's over dominance or Adam's abusive tendencies.
Rather, a man can fail in his leadership by being abusive.
He can also fail on the other end by being apathetic.
Adam's Failure, Not Abuse00:01:21
And that's what we see, I think, in our culture today.
Because there have been past abuses, all of a sudden we've thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
We have a culture that is earnestly seeking to emasculate men.
And now what we have is no longer abusive men, not saying that there's not any at all, but at large, no longer abusive men, but apathetic, lazy.
Passive, uninvolved men.
That's what we have.
And culture has been pushing this for decades.
Whether it's Everybody Loves Raymond, which I enjoy, but in every sitcom, The Simpsons, Everybody Loves Raymond, I mean, everything you could think of, what do you have?
Attractive, smart, courageous wife, and a fat, out of shape, lazy, dumb husband.
Our culture has been working very intentionally on this.
For years.
And I think we bought it.
And we need to repent.
Thanks so much for listening.
But, real quick, before you go, do us a small favor take a moment and leave us a five star review if you enjoyed the show.
This is undoubtedly the best way that you can help us get this biblically faithful content to as many people as possible.
