DAILY TRUTH - The Tale of Two Kings

Hosts of DAILY TRUTH - The Tale of Two Kings dissect the cosmic conflict between God and Satan, tracing death's reign from Adam's Genesis 3 rebellion to Moses. Citing Romans 5:17 and Hebrews 2:14-15, they argue that while one man's trespass brought death, Christ's flesh and blood destroy the devil's power. The episode concludes that only two kings rule the universe: God, wielding an iron scepter of life fueled by righteousness, and Satan, ruling the kingdom of death with an iron rod powered by sin since the fall. Thanks.
Jesus said, Man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
You're listening to Daily Truth.
Adam and Eve broke all of God's law.
All 11 commandments, 10 natural laws, and one positive law.
And the result was catastrophic.
Verse 17.
Before we proceed, notice that in verse 14 of our text, death is actually represented.
It's personified by Paul as a king.
Death reigned from Adam to Moses.
So how is it that death exercises his dominion over all the inhabitants of the earth?
Death reigns by sin.
And Satan reigns by both death and sin.
These empires rise and fall together.
Notice that in Job chapter 18, verse 14, Bildad actually refers to death as the king of terrors.
And a formidable king death is.
The dominion of death is massive.
And the dread of death is terrible, especially among those who are separate from Christ.
The dread of death, the fear of death is terrible for all people, but especially those who are apart from Christ.
Hebrews chapter 2, verse 14 through 15 illustrates this point.
It says, Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, Christ likewise partook of these same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has power over death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
Continuing in your notes, I've written this, now focusing our attention on verse 17.
For if because of one man's trespass, death reigned, Through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
Both Adam and Christ are the sole authors of what they convey to their respective descendants.
Adam conveys death by virtue of his sin, and Christ conveys life by his righteousness.
In short, it is theologically and biblically proper to say the following.
Satan reigns by death, and death reigns by sin through Adam.
In contrast, God rules by life, and life rules by righteousness through Christ Jesus.
Brothers and sisters, there are only two kings in this universe, and they are not co-equals.
One, namely God, is infinitely more powerful and glorious than the other.
But there are two kings, a greater and a lesser.
Those two kings are God and Satan.
God is the king of the kingdom of life.
He rules with an iron scepter of life.
And the scepter of life that he wields in his right hand is fueled and powered by righteousness.
And righteousness extends its dominion throughout all the earth by virtue of Jesus Christ.
And there is another king, King Satan.
And he rules the kingdom of death.
And he wields this death as an iron rod.
And this death, this rod of death, it is fueled and powered by sin.
In sin, it extends its dominion and has from the creation of the world, from Genesis chapter 3, from the moment of Adam's rebellion, sin has extended its dominion throughout all of mankind.
There are two kings, God and Satan, two kingdoms, life and death, two sources of power, if you will, righteousness and sin, and two federal heads, two covenant fathers, two representatives in Adam.
Satan's Iron Rod of Sin 00:00:18
Or in Christ.
