Kamala Harris has finally conceded and her speech was fine.
I think people are overstating how good her speech was.
Yes, it was the most coherent we've ever heard her.
Yes, she was gracious, I suppose relatively gracious.
But first of all, it's a scandal that she gave this speech 12 hours late.
It was clear last night that she had lost.
She lost in a landslide, an electoral vote landslide.
She lost the popular vote.
First time a Republican won the popular vote in 20 years.
It was over.
The fact that she waited this long is disrespectful to the American people and to her voters in particular.
But okay, she does an okay job 12 hours later.
Fine.
She was gracious.
Fine.
It was easy for her to be gracious.
She had no business being the Democrat nominee in the first place.
When someone runs and wins primary after primary and earns the votes of members of his or her own party and then loses, you can understand why it's so emotional.
This woman got further in politics than she ever deserved to get.
She was picked as, in Joe Biden's own words, a DEI hire as VP and then There was a palace coup that installed her as the Democrat nominee without ever having to win a single vote in a primary.
So, yeah, easy come, easy go.
It was relatively easy for her to be gracious.
And, in fact, the graciousness of the speech was in itself a scandal because the entire basis of the Kamala campaign and of the Biden campaign was that Trump posed an existential threat to the republic, that Trump's Hitler.
Well, if Trump is Hitler, if Trump poses an existential threat to the republic, then it's actually bizarre and wrong for her to be so gracious in handing over power, for her to be so sanguine.
Okay, look, we had a hard-fought fight, but now Hitler is president.
Okay, and it's going to be fine.
This man who in his very person is going to destroy the republic and the constitution, pose an existential threat to her, it's fine, it's no big deal.
She is admitting in that kind of a concession.
That she was lying, or that she has just no judgment whatsoever now, but really it's the former.
That they were lying when they said that Trump was Hitler, that he posed an existential threat to the Republic.
And those lies justified his assassination, which nearly occurred.
Came very near to occurring when he got shot in the ear, and then almost occurred a second time too.
So, yeah, okay.
By the way, had that candidate really shown up the whole time, that candidate who was a little more coherent and a little more gracious and normal, fewer cackles, I don't think it would have made much of a difference either.
Maybe she would have gotten an extra few electoral votes.
But the landslide was baked in.
And the reason that Kamala could be cajoled into conceding even half a day late It's because the American people made their preference so clear.
Nobody really wanted this woman to be president.
And the majority of Americans in their states through their electors made clear they wanted Trump to be the 47th president.
And just the outright majority of Americans wanted him to be president.
They don't want to hear from this woman anymore.
And now we will not have to.
