What's good? | |
This is Tony Boswell. | |
Welcome to Ward is Bond TV, the podcast.
I am so pumped to get this going.
It's been a long time since I've been able to open your ears.
And I couldn't not have that.
I had to be a voice inside someone's head.
So I'm back with a new show.
And you know, the universe, the universe decides it has different plans for you than what you plan on doing sometimes.
And uh sometimes you're lucky enough to um already have a premiere episode in the bag, but then you actually have a schedule uh, you know, a really amazing guest who happens to be one of your good friends, who's um one of the funniest people you know.
Um come on the day that something um absolutely insane happens and uh makes major news.
So luckily you get to have uh have them on and you can talk about it.
No, no, no, no introduction needed for the real heads, but uh a lot of you won't know who this is.
And and um he's he's the man.
This is one of my good friends um from comedian uh host of of Pod Damn America, uh Jake Flores.
Jake, thanks for coming, dude.
Hey, what's up? | |
I think it was a great idea to um establish this as an alibi that we are definitely not in Utah right now, and uh had no idea what was happening today.
Um, good to be here. | |
Welcome back from the dead, Tony Boswell.
God damn, you uh you scared me for a moment that you weren't gonna be a podcaster.
Yeah, I know. | |
You were gonna have to stop hanging out.
I know. | |
There's no social like benefit for me hanging out with you anymore, you know.
So I'd have to be like, oh I was kind of shook when last time we hung out.
I went in for the secret handshake, and you were like, can you even do this anymore, bro?
We changed it. | |
And um, and you're right.
And so I actually won't get the updated, the updated handshake until I upload this uh uh tomorrow.
Um actually I don't think you even get it until one person listens.
Once there's been confirmation that one person is downloaded this, I will get the email with the instructional video of the new secret handshake, and I will be able to um to socialize with other podcasters once again.
Yeah, it has to be a real human.
It can't be like one of those SoundCloud messages you get that are like, hello, I loved your track podcast about the joker two.
What a fire track. | |
Uh I'd be interested in producing it for you, and it's all written by AI and shit.
Anyways, yeah, good. | |
Uh unfortunately, some people don't know that uh the real resources that AI are dumping itself into are um really poorly written emails that also have small details about podcasts that the AI had listened to to pitch you to have a guest on who you would never have on in a million years.
Um not even because they might not be relevant to anything, but also they might even be like completely antithetical to what you're about.
Uh so AI is fucking crushing it.
Um, you know, fuck that freshwater, uh fuck those communities, I guess.
Yeah, do you get those? | |
I got one while back that was like it was like it sounded like a person almost because it was picking through a bunch of jokes we did on the show, and it was like the Curtis Sleewa Street Fighter bit was so funny, which is why you should have the CEO of this healthcare company on your show.
And I'm like, we're like a Luigi Mangioni type thing going on here.
That's the exact type of person we shouldn't have on the show or wouldn't, I guess.
But uh you just have them on the show, and you're like, so like um, you know, where can people find you throughout the day?
What's a good uh home address for you?
And that's the entire that's the entire episode.
Yeah, yeah. | |
We yeah, we record in person.
Please be at this exact address.
Listen, you know, I I was gonna wait for this for a minute, but I gotta be honest, like we we shouldn't we shouldn't be joking about things like that right now.
Um I spent some time today.
Uh I saw something today on the internet um that really shook Me and um I'm gonna I want you to kind of brace yourself.
I don't have a little bit of a trigger warning.
Um, this is gonna be upsetting.
I'm just worried about the youth.
Um, so we we really shouldn't be making jokes about you know things like that after uh after seeing this.
I'm gonna go ahead and play this for you.
Um Jake. | |
Uh for those for those listening.
Um we're in the interior of a of a in and out, a popular Southern California food chain, um, known for their delicious affordable burgers, uh well paid serving staff, um, and Bible verses on their cups and fry tins, and they are calling out numbers.
Um, they are calling out numbers for people for people's orders.
Yeah, here we go. | |
Okay, 68 please. | |
Now you think what you're about to witness is uh there's there's lots of loud seemingly teens were terribly disappointed.
Um because you were anticipating a number, and um, and the the guy called out 68.
Um with some gusto, he knew that they were waiting for the number, and he knew this wasn't the number they were gonna do it with.
So here I am, you know, and and um and what happened next is pretty shocking.
Looks like a new number is about to be announced.
6'7, yeah. | |
I I regret to report that they were not anticipating 69, but they were in fact anticipating six seven.
It was going down. | |
Um yeah, he skipped six sixty seven.
Um, and when it finally came there, it uh was received with huge applause.
Um I I was upset because I was really I thought they were doing what generations of Americans have been doing, which is cheering for number sixty-nine.
Yeah, but they didn't. | |
Are you familiar with six seven?
No, Jake Flores. | |
No. | |
That looks like a high school, like a bunch of kids.
What is six seven? | |
What does six seven mean to them?
Well, it I apparently it means everything.
Um, my my 12 year old has informed me that uh 6'7 um at best, at best is a reference to a song, um, a rap song where the guide says something something six seven, and it's and it seemingly to me is referencing like murder, but apparently it's just like skivity.
Yeah, apparently it's just like that type of thing where it's like, you know, how's your day?
Six seven. | |
What are you doing later?
Six seven. | |
Man, I'm glad I know this so that I can look cool and youthful as I try to continue and sell my wares to the children of the world.
And I I was on I was on board for a stupid thing because obviously I'm not doing it, but you know, I I kind of appreciate a petty thing that's harmless, it's driving teachers nuts.
Uh-huh. | |
Um, when I went to my kids' parent teacher conference in her band room, um, he had a a list of band brain rot, like brain rot you're not allowed to bring up in class.
And six seven was on there.
Okay. | |
I'm like, this is great.
It's even getting to like the cool band teacher.
But the problem is it is now impeding on 69 jokes.
Yeah. | |
And I I'm worried now. | |
Now I'm worried. | |
Those kids, yeah, those kids don't even know, they don't know the good, the pleasure of uh a hard day's work and a 69 nice joke you tweet at your friend at the end of the day.
Well, they're the worst generation yet, I tell you.
Honestly, do you ever like do you ever catch like stuff like like 69 nice and then realize like how long we've been making these jokes and like kind of realize like, oh, this is old people shit now.
Well, I think they've I think that one has existed since like 1970.
But it's they were like, yo, last year ruled, and it looks like a sex position a little bit.
Let's run with this. | |
Yeah, but it had like a fucking like uh like the thing that happened with Borat, where it was like yeah, people thought it was funny, and then they were like annoyed because it was people said it's it's much bigger than Borat.
It's bigger than Borat.
It's bigger than any meme, anything we've ever because our parents did this one.
But that's what I'm saying, right?
The borat thing is a it's a recursion effect because there was a there was a a valley, right?
Where there was it was considered very annoying because it was a frat guy joke, and then it came back ironically, like years after the original Borat film and became like a comedy nerd hipster thing to ironically do borat, and it's like ebbed and flowed like that.
And I feel like our our generation 69 thing was like kind of making fun of like boomers, actual their actual.
Absolutely, absolutely.
I do like to imagine like um a boomer or or millennial, or maybe even a cross-generational team of a couple, uh couple bros in that in and out who when they did say 69, they they tried to like out laugh that cheer.
Uh-huh. | |
And they were like, they don't even know what what funny is.
This is the funny one. | |
This one right here is funny.
Now that I understand this is very funny that there are a bunch of kids like six seven, because it's a skibbedy toilet ass joke that doesn't.
Yeah, it's a skippy, like I like to imagine there's like a couple of wit guys in wizard robes on the side, and they're like, six six six, it's coming up, but it never comes up.
Look at this group of kids one more time.
Like, look at the this group is amazing.
I'm like, it's funny because it's it's it's straight wholesome at the end of the day, even though at you know, there is it could be a reference to murdering somebody.
Yes, six seven. | |
did you see the group It's like 40 kids in the internet.
Yeah, what the first of all, what the fuck is going on there, man?
It's it fucking rules, and yeah, I I mean, I hopefully one day there we can have a we can go get fast food and laugh twice.
Um, but I don't know because what I see now in our generation with comedians is uh is what I consider to be a hack joke, a lazy joke, is the joke that uh 69 is no good, that 69ing isn't cool and and good and fun.
You I it's not even like a joke.
That joke sucks. | |
It's a joke sucks. | |
It's not even I don't think it's a joke.
I see this on Twitter all the time.
I see it's a sincere take.
Like it's a but it's like it is something like it's kind of a hot take.
Like the person feels kind of special by saying, like, hey, look, can we all admit this position sucks?
Like as if they're speaking out against the norm being that 69 is good, and like I gotta be honest with you, I fucking love the 69 position.
I don't know, it does something to my ADD where it's like an enough shit.
It's not too much shit where you can't concentrate at all, and it's not like all focused on one thing, so you're just like this is happening, I'm gonna bust.
It's perfect. | |
It's it's it's the best.
It's the best. | |
And my theory is I think that people are people are doing it wrong.
I think people are probably doing it wrong.
Um, I think people need to understand that you can go ahead and like you can you can you know it still counts if you're like both on your side.
Um, you know, there's all kinds of things you can be doing here.
Um, you know, and like I don't know, it's you just you're just doing it wrong, and and that joke sucks.
Cause like you said, like it it's it's you know, it's the it's like an ultimate stim, you know.
You got you got like earmuffs on, you know, you're focused on what you're doing, you know, you're also receiving something very nice.
Um you know, and also it's like it's one of those kind of like uh uh it's a it's it's it's almost it's good because you know what you don't you don't need to come from sex all the time, all right?
Doesn't always have to be actually it doesn't have to be penetrative sex all the time, all right.
Do some hand in mouth stuff, it's it's good for you.
And don't knock, don't knock it.
And and you know, I want to know I want to know what your partner thinks about that.
Yeah, really what they really think about that.
What do you what is the six seven position?
You think what is those zoomer kids doing when they're in their little Riverdale hot rods?
That's where you one person is the other how do you be a seven? |
