Wanted to start off with some original reporting here.
Let me pull up the screen.
Alright.
Our first story today, uh, we're going to Nancy Diaz on Facebook.
Uh, Nancy Diaz is with Tim Frohman and 56 others.
Nancy Diaz reports, the man who shanked officer Derek Chauvin was allegedly a member of the Mexican mafia who is scheduled to be released from prison in three years.
His name is John Turscak, a Croatian, but his prison record has him listed as white?
I am so confused already.
Wait, is he part of the Mexican Mafia, or is he a non-white Croatian?
There's a lot of moving parts there.
He was a member of the Mexican Mafia.
He looks white as fuck.
He looks like Rob Reiner, dude.
He looks funny.
He looks at me.
Have you seen a photo of him?
No.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
I got to send you a photo, dude.
Let me, all right, let me pull it up.
I can, I can look it up real quick.
This is what being an ally looks like folks really put putting yourself on the line.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It looks like a, like a pretty like regular dude.
I like it.
This dude looks like he, he directed a movie about new year's Eve.
Almost stabbed Derek Chauvin to death.
Almost.
More reporting.
By the way, I love this reporting style.
His name is John Turskak, a Croatian, but his prison record has him listed as white?
Which is odd to be in the Mexican Mafia?
However, which makes this story even more strange is this prison inmate who had already served 22 years of his 25-year sentence, was scheduled for release in June of 26, would try to commit a murder so close to his date of release?
This is the best way to report the news.
This is actually the way you have to report the news on Facebook.
This is smart, yeah.
Because they can't get you for fake news, you know, the liars, the cheats, the scumbag fact checkers on fake book news can't actually accuse you of lying if you put a question mark after every statement.
Yeah, which if you haven't caught on to the inflection, there has not been a period yet.
It has only been question marks.
Sometimes two.
Sometimes multiple, yeah.
Which is like double, you're really doubling down on not being libelous.
A high-profile murder at that?
Here's another thing about this man.
He is 52 years old, and he has been a longtime FBI informant, too, who had worked undercover and flipped on dozens of people resulting in their prosecutions and arrests.
Let's break this one down.
Yeah, long-time FBI informant dating back to the 2000s.
Prior to the 2000s, he was apparently in charge of some section of the Mexican Mafia and acted as an informant for the FBI, but he did too many crimes while being an informant.
That they threw that they indicted 40 people they indicted from what I can tell from the reporting because the Reporting that everybody's citing is this New York Times article or maybe it's LA Times.
I don't know I read it either way from 2001 that reports about this guy's Situation who he is He there was like the evidence he collected through his, you know, being an informant led to the indictment of 40 members of the Mexican Mafia.
But the prosecutor had to throw him out as a fucking witness because he had committed so many crimes while as a while being an informant.
So then I'm pretty sure that case fell apart.
The case against the 40 Mexican Mafia guys.
Oh, wow.
Or guys and gals and non-binary pals in the Mexican Mafia.
It refers every all this reporting refers to that case as 40 alleged members of the Mexican Mafia.
And I was like, why are they saying alleged?
Like if it was an indictment, if it resulted in the indictment of these 40 whatever, why is it still alleged?
And I'm like, I bet something happened.
And so I went back and it was just like, yeah, they had to throw the whole case out.
And I'm pretty sure they didn't actually get convicted of anything.
And instead he got convicted of Of, yeah, the extortion and, like, whatever felon conspiring to assault, like ordering the beatings of people, I'm pretty sure I read.
Yeah, got 30 years in federal prison.
So that's, he was, yeah, like she said, three years away from finishing his sentence.
But I think if we're wondering, like, why he would have done, did you have something to add before we go to the next step?
Oh no, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like looking at him and I'm thinking, um, I want this movie.
I think that he was, he was, I think, cause I think he might've been like a smart rat.
I think he was a reverse rat.
I think he was like being a rat, but knowing that he was going to make it not worth it.
Not stick.
And he, and not stick.
And he was going to take, he's going to take the dive for everybody.
And he's probably, cause the thing is, If you flip on 40 members of the Mexican Mafia, um, you probably want to be locked up because you don't want to be, but you also don't want to be locked up because they still have access to you.
So if this guy's still alive, this guy's, this guy's a player.
This guy's a player.
And like, I love that this is a little, little, uh, end cap to his career.
I think he was like running his own prison gangs too.
Yeah.
Oh, for sure.
For sure.
He, he was, he, he doesn't want to, he's chilling.
He's chilling in prison.
Right.
It's so funny.
It's so funny.
Yeah.
That's, that's, that's like the easiest explanation, explanation that comes to mind.
Like you're, you're responsible for 40 fucking members of the Mexican mafia being named and dragged to court, even if they didn't actually get prosecuted or whatever.
Are you fucking kidding me?
Like, it's kind of crazy that you're still alive to begin with.
Dude, I remember this.
I remember this happening because my dad got remarried in 1997 and his limo driver got arrested at the wedding and couldn't take him away.
And he got roped in with this case.
What the fuck?
It was this case.
Your dad had a Mexican mafia affiliated limo driver for his wedding?
Yeah, because he wasn't supposed to be driving, but the driver didn't show up.
So, like, the guy who owned it ended up driving.
And he wasn't supposed to be driving.
