Karano has been criticized on social media after she shared a post on Instagram that has since been removed comparing the persecution of Jews during Nazi Germany toward current hate toward people with different political views.
Oh, I've heard that one before.
Yeah.
She, um, she posted like a screenshot of just like a Facebook meme.
Yeah.
I love that.
And it was, uh, the, the meme said Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbors.
Dot, dot, dot.
Even by children.
The 38 year old Texan native wrote, uh, Because history is edited, this is still the meme, because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews, the post continues.
How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?
Oh man.
How is hating someone for being Jewish any different than hating someone for being a white nationalist?
Or a small government conservative who actually wants to turn Afghanistan into glass?
Well, the thing that's interesting about this, too, is it's coming from inside Hollywood.
And she's very brave.
This is on par with, like, the King and Queens lady who outed Scientology.
Like, she's just speaking big truths, and they're gonna get rid of her.
What if she was like trying to make an overture to Hollywood?
She was like, listen, I know all you guys are Jews, right?
So what I'm facing is like what your guys were facing back in Nazi Germany.
Yeah, it's the same thing.
And they didn't even get it.
No, no, no.
They couldn't empathize with what she was going through.
I love, I love, I mean, this meme is great.
It's total dumb guy, dumb girl Facebook meme.
I love it so much.
I love that the meme, the big gotcha point for the meme is like, because history is censored, you're not allowed to know that people hated Jews in Nazi Germany.
Yeah, that's the big secret.
What they don't want you to know is they actually hated Jews and they had nothing to do with anything else.
It's so funny, too, because it's that whole thing where this whole thing is exactly our talking points, except for it's just totally misguided.
What do you mean?
Elaborate.
I mean, we talked about how some of the importance of what we do on this show is to document the The normal people who were saying incredibly awful things, who are contributing to the bad things, right?
And she's saying, and we cited that picture of the regular people during the cigarette break with the swastikas on their arms, and they're just regular folks, but they were still part of the problem, because they were part of the problem.
So they're using the same exact talking point, but it's just going in the completely wrong direction, because like, what you're saying is that You know, roundaboutly and pretty directly too, what she's saying is, I should have the right to want to have another holocaust.
And you preventing me from saying that out loud is my own holocaust.
Okay, I mean, it's a fair point.
I don't know if she really wants another Holocaust.
We shouldn't put words in her big beautiful mouth.
But you're right in that The Nazis had a political ideology, right?
Yeah.
The Nazis had a set of politics that were very bad, we should say.
The Jewish people were just Jews.
Yeah.
They were just people.
They were just people who happened to be Jews.
Being Jewish is not having political beliefs.
No.
It's not quite the same thing.
Being Jewish is having a Jewish mom.
If you're, well it depends on who you ask, you know, but if you're trying to make the case that you are being persecuted or that Being persecuted for your political beliefs is as bad as being persecuted for your identity.
