This week we cover Trump's incredible "I like taking the guns" comments and the implosion at r/the_donald because of them. Also: a good-boy college republican goes on Tucker Carlson's Fox News program to show the entire nation a meme about him being a cracker.
Okay, so today we are talking about a couple things.
The reason for this quick turnaround is because just a hot, hot news item flew across our desks, which is of course Trump seizing everybody's gun without due process.
This was an amazing revelation that happened on screen live before all of our eyes.
So we're going to be going over that, going over the Reddit reaction in the Donald subreddit, which is incredible and a lot of fun.
The redaction.
And then we'll be finishing off this episode with a segment on a young boy who went on to Tucker Carlson to show a meme about himself being a cracker to the whole nation.
A brave young boy.
A smart young man.
Smart young man.
Okay, so let's just get into it because we're going quick here.
So basically what happened was Dealmaker Donald decided to have a meeting on camera with members of the Senate from both parties because this is literally the only way people will believe that he's actually doing any work is if he televises it.
So he's in this boardroom meeting, you know, with Dianne Feinstein and Steve Scalise and his vice president, Mike Pence, and they're talking guns.
They're talking gun control.
What are we going to do about this gun control thing?
And you know, of course, they're talking about all the usual Republican talking points about mental illness or, you know, arming school teachers, which is just now a new Republican talking point.
That's Shana over here is going to be carrying a Glock to her high school.
And, uh, so Mike Pence said something about, you know, oh, well with mental illness, you know, we get due process and we can hopefully get some dangerous people off the streets, etc.
And Trump just offers, per nothing, unnecessarily, you know what, I like taking the guns early.
We'll do due process later.
It takes a long time, a lot of paperwork.
Let's take them first.
We'll take the guns first with...
Illegally, and then we'll do the due process later, after the fact.
That's, you know, you could just do the due process, do the due later, you know?
Do the due.
How many fucking heads imploded when this happened?
Trump, their worst fears, the right wing's, you know, next to abortion.
I don't think I could pick a bigger issue on the right wing than guns and their fucking beautiful man-child-in-chief Yeah I like taking the guns.
Literally take he used the word take let's take them first and we'll do the deposit like it was it was that cavalier that casual it was insane and it was beautiful to watch because you watch the right like you watch them melt in real time they were like
A couple people mentioned that, like, in that Reddit, a couple people mentioned, like, the only good thing about this meeting was that it was held during Shep Smith's block on Fox News, who's, like, the kind of token pragmatist on Fox News, you know?
The lesser.
Yeah, is he gay?
Oh, I have no fucking clue what you're talking about, but I'm sure he's, like, a lame, like, Fox, like, the, like, Contextually lame.
Well let me tell you who he is because he's a fairly popular figure because he's like the only one who's willing to like say common sense things on Fox News and he's like relegated to the middle of the day.
Sure.
He's like a time block.
He's a Bush-era conservative I would say.
I don't even know if he's a conservative.
He just seems like a normal dude reacting to wild-ass news.
But anyway, people weren't watching, is basically what I was saying.
So they're stoked that they didn't have to see that guy.
How crazy is it that we look forward to, you know, Bush-era conservatives.
I don't look forward to that show.
Remember that?
Remember the Bush-era conservatives?
They made sense.
I get that sentiment, but they can all burn.
Absolutely.
Let me just read a couple comments from Facebook and Breitbart.
The reaction in these deplorables groups was just nothing.
Every day there's like three posts in the deplorables groups that's like, I voted for Donald Trump and I'm not afraid to say it.
How many likes can I get?
And a bunch of racist shit.
That happens three times a day.
Somebody posts, hey, Donald Trump just talked about...
Grabbing our guns literally like said he liked it and there's eight comments.
Yeah There's eight comments and they're all like you're lying Scratching their dome on this one.
They're not talking.
They're not commenting.
They're scratching.
So our first comment This is what I love from Brian Bach Holt Says, this is how he makes deals.
First offer is extreme, then eventually they meet in the middle.
Precisely.
So what you do is you make an extreme offer for the opposite party and you trick them.
And then they're like, oh no, whoa, that's, I would like that too much.
And then so they walk it back and they're like, how about we just do some sort of mental health evaluation thing?
This is how you make deals.
So optimistic Brian is.
Just optimistic and not even really thinking about what he's saying?
USMCLT, which I think stands for... U.S.
Marine Corps Lieutenant?
I was gonna say Uncle Sam's Misguided Corporal Lieutenant.
Oh, there it is.
That's who it is.
Uncle Sam's Misguided Child Lieutenant says, I hate to say it, but I see the President's thinking here.
Due process today requires the cooperation of leftist lawyers and judges.
These same leftist lawyers and judges have stood by for decades allowing crazies like Cruz to create the next crisis.
And each crisis brings us closer to the leftist goal of mass gun seizures.
This is a lesser of two evils proposition.
So, he wants to circumvent the justice system, which is controlled by leftists, so that the leftists can't take the guns.
Like, you gotta be the one to take the guns, because you don't want the leftists taking the guns from citizens.
Who's gonna do it first?
As a conservative, we gotta do it first.
Because otherwise you'll look like a copycat.
Yeah, you gotta set the trends.
Can I just say, I absolutely love the excuse making on this.
Like, I like to frequent, uh, Our Conspiracy.
Oh, yeah.
Just to read the comic, because they're so fucking funny.
Like, no, he's doing this so the globalists can't have the guns, and then make it easier for the patriots to have the guns.
It's like, what the fuck are you talking about?
Anything to rationalize your bad choices.
I love it.
Well, if we get the guns, we can control them.
If they get the guns, abortions will be much faster.
Get a bump stock attached to your abortion vacuum.
Abort like 12 babies in a row.
Line them up.
That's a bayonet, dude.
They could have taken care of that octomom fucking quick.
Think about how many babies they would save if they just had to reload.
Okay, so now we're getting into Reddit, and I sort of lined these comments.
These first comments are meta comments about what's going on in the subreddit.
Have I described that on the air, what happened, actually?
No, we just said it imploded.
It imploded because rightfully, the right-wing members of the Donald were like, uh, what the fuck is going on?
Maybe Trump made a mistake here, or maybe I don't like this thing that Trump said, and that did not fly in the Donald subreddit.
They could not calculate.
They were deleting dozens of comments by the second, banning users left and right, banning longtime users who even dared to criticize Trump, which is amazing.
And I know Matt, you are a big-time moderator on Reddit.
I think we may have alluded to it on this show before.
