Trump Sends in the FEDS — DC Deep State Crime Lords Panic!

My friends, my friends, I'm going to be explaining something to you now, which politically we are thrilled about.
Politically we are thrilled about.
Politically, it sounds wonderful.
Practically speaking, constitutionally speaking, this is something that we may not want.
We would be going crazy, crazy in the event that it were booty giggy giggity or some Democrat trying this.
We would go nuts if this were someone else.
But because it is President Trump and because the Democrats are going crazy, I and we love it.
We are thrilled beyond explication, ladies and gentlemen.
We are beyond thrilled as to what's happening.
President Trump Trump has said, I am going to apply my full faith, credit, and force once and for all.
And you can talk about federalizing Washington, DC.
And I want you to be very excited about this.
And I'm going to tell you something.
The reason why I am excited about it and you should be is because the Democrats in the deep state are losing their minds.
Do you hear me?
They are losing their minds.
And when they lose their minds, I am happy.
And you should be happy.
And we are happy.
Isn't it grand?
Isn't it beyond grand?
Now a little background about what's going on here.
Dear, dear friends, and thank you so much.
We're starting to do a little bit different tonight.
They're going to be arguing there's a loss of self-governance.
This is the most important thing in the world.
This is what they're going to be saying.
They're going to be saying.
that this is a situation in which D.C. residents already have a lack of full voting representation in the Congress.
So further stripping local authority, they're going to say, would deepen the taxation without representation argument.
This is about chapter or section 740.
This is the Home Rule Act of 1973.
That gave D.C. limited self-government.
Federalizing it would reverse 50 years of local decision making.
If the president can take direct control over a city's local authority, affairs, they're saying.
Critics argue that it could set a precedent for similar actions, similar in the name of national security or border.
And opponents say that a slippery slope could indeed be the case.
But you don't care.
And I don't blame you because they're going berserk.
They're going crazy.
And we must be doing something right.
Is that the correct way to look at this intellectually?
Maybe not.
So sue me.
Big deal.
DC voters are already leaning very heavily towards Democratic.
And they may now view this federalization as more partisan retaliation rather than some neutral governance.
That's the way it goes.
Congress has constitutional authority over DC, but transferring that authority entirely to the executive branch without legislation could trigger lawsuits.
And I say, oh well, what are you going to do?
Under Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, it gives Congress exclusive legislative control over the district.
Federalization would simply reassert the control of the Constitution, people would say.
Supporters would argue that home rule set up is a privilege granted by Congress, not a right, it's a privilege and can be changed or revoked at any time.
And as the seat of the federal government, DC is a high-value target for terrorism, foreign influence, and organized protests and the like.
Advocates are also suggesting and arguing that Only direct federal oversight would ensure unified, decisive law.
But that's not necessarily the only way to do it.
DC was directly controlled by Congress for much of the history of home rule in 1973.
Now here is the rule.
What specifically does President Trump have to do?
What does he order?
How long will he allow or be permitted this specific order?
What jurisdiction does he have and for how long?
What can he do?
That's what you need to know.
That's what we need to know.
And that's what's critical about this.
Here's the deal.
The Home Rule Act of 1973 puts DC.
under the local control delegated from Congress.
The Constitution, Article 1, Section 8, gives Congress, not the president, exclusive legislation, power over the district.
That means Trump can't simply abolish D.C.'s mayor or city council by executive.
He needs to get Congress to act on that.
But he can order immediately some things without Congress.
First of all, National Guard and Security.
The president already commands, pretty much controls the DC National Guard.
Unlike states where governors are in charge, DC's guard answers directly to the president via the Secretary of Defense.
Okay.
He could federalize law enforcement operationally during unrest by deploying guard units, U.S. Marshals, and federal police forces, Capitol Police, Park Police.
Did you know there's about 40?
There's about 40.
40 separate law enforcement agencies right there anyway.
If there's insurrection or domestic violence or unlawful combinations or conspiracies obstructing federal law.
President Trump can invoke the Insurrection Act to deploy active duty military and take over policing in D.C. This would effectively suspend local control over law enforcement while the order is active.
And it's interesting because it provides for some immediate triggers and some rules and the like.
What's interesting and what I love about this is this is payback.
This is politically beautiful.

I can argue, argue against this all day long.
It's wrong, is it?

He can direct D.C. police to protect federal property, monuments, or other other designated federal interests the dc's guard is always under presidential control unlike state guards It can be used before ordinary law enforcement in DC without triggering posse comitatis.
This is the separation between the firewall, so to speak, historically used with local cooperation.
Here it's unilateral, which invites political and legal challenges.
Trump already has commands and agencies like the FBI, Marshals, Secret Service, Park Police, DHS units.
They've got 40 plus.
