future.
I've been avoiding this controversy because it's...
I've got better things to talk about, but I had to say something.
Pat McAfee is not a racist.
What he said about Caitlin Clark is not even remotely racist or bad or anything.
It was a compliment and nobody's even listening to what he said.
When I heard this notion about white bitch, I thought, well, that's not good.
In fact, the reason why I responded to that is like, you can't say that today because nobody will ever take whatever you say in the context of what you were intended.
See, it's the contextual part that nobody talks about.
Look, everything is homophobic and this and that and everything.
We have thrown so much hate and anti-Semitic and xenophobic and transphobic and now it's racist.
Racism means specifically that you either think that someone is inferior to you because of their race And you can throw an ethnicity.
Or that you think you're superior to somebody because of yours.
We never talk about that.
It's a statement that I'm better than you.
You're less than me because of your race.
Not a comment about race.
Not the fact that I mentioned race.
There are differences.
Look, I know we're in this world right now where everybody wants to talk about, you know, men and women.
Is it men?
Are they the same?
Can you define a woman?
Stop it!
Stop it!
But let's go listen.
Let's listen specifically to what Pat McAbee said.
And you tell me.
I defy you to tell me how what he said was in any way even remotely racist.
Alright?
Now listen to this and I'll tell you when to pay attention.
Is she what?
I don't know.
Just with my eyes.
Here we go.
The goat.
The goat.
Greatest of all time.
Okay.
Okay.
And by the way, before I forget, this is sports talk.
This is rough and tumble.
And ladies, if you want to be a part of sports, act like a man.
And what I mean by that is not look like a man, but be tough.
You know, these are not powder puffs.
These are tough broads who can play.
And they want to be treated the same.
And they don't want to be like, oh, no, my feelings.
Stop it!
Listen to what he's saying.
He's actually helping.
I'm glad WNBA is coming along.
I'm glad to see this.
And McAfee helps.
Is she what?
I don't know.
Just with my eyes.
I couldn't see if she's Caucasian.
Does that matter?
No, it matters!
It does matter!
Professional basketball is black!
It's predominantly black!
It's not racist!
That's like me saying, is she a man?
It's not sexist!
Merely talking about race doesn't make it racist.
Or not.
So I think what we're trying to say is what the WNBA currently has is what we like to describe as a cash cow.
There is a superstar.
Okay, does this sound racist to you?
And can a white man say something racist about a white woman?
I mean, this is so stupid!
It's stupid!
And we're not saying that the players on the court need to act any differently.
That's the athletes are going to do what athletes are going to do in any sport.
I think we're all learning that WNBA, that's old school football, baby.
Old school football.
I think that's good.
I think so far, Pat, we need more McAfee's.
We need more to play this up, to tell people, forget the W. It's great basketball.
Just happens to be ladies.
So what?
That's what I want to hear.
That is old school football.
But I would like the media people that continue to say, this rookie class, this rookie class, this rookie class, nah.
Just call it for what it is.
There's one white bitch for the Indiana team.
Stop.
Stop.
She didn't mean it that...
Way.
Who is a superstar.
And is it because she stayed in Iowa, put an entire state on her back, took a program from nothing to a multiple-year success story?
Is it because she would go on to break the entire points records in the history of the NCAA, not just the women's record by Kelsey Plum?
Shout out.
Does this sound like he doesn't like her?
Does this sound like a racist comment?
Or did he use...
The term euphemistic.
But also, Pistol Pete Maravich's, the dude's record as well.
Is there a chance that people just enjoy watching her play basketball because of how electrifying she is, what she did, what she stood for, how she went about going, what she went for?
Maybe.
But instead, we have to hear people say that we only like her because she's white.
And she's the only popular because the rest of the rookie class is doing what they're doing.
Well, that's a bunch of bullshit.
And we think the WNBA, more specifically, their refs need to stop trying to screw her over at every single turn.
What you have is somebody special.
And we're lucky she's here.
Now let me stomp right there.
Let me see if I can get this thing again.
They never mention...
Let's get the context.
There's one white bitch.
Excuse me for having to say this to you because you might be offended because you're going to say, I knew that.
I know you know that.
I know that.
Everybody knows this.
But what we're seeing here is not listening.
He's using it.
He's using it.
How do I say this?
In a rough way to make the point.
Like they say, oh yeah, they figure, yeah, here comes somebody, you know, powder puff broad in here.
Well, she's not.
Now, did I mean powder puff broad?
No!
I'm using the term to denote what other people might be saying.
If I say, oh yeah, guess what?
He can't, you know, let's say there's a black doctor.
Oh yeah, he's not going to be, he's going to be some, you know, DEI affirmative action quota.
He didn't say he was a DEI affirmative action court.
He says that's what people are saying!
And he's using it within the context of what a person would say.
Do I have to explain this?
And McAfee had to apologize.
He should have said, that's not what I said, Mr. Tough Guy.
Because he comes across, he's, hey, Jock, you know.
I mean, seriously, do we have to apologize if I say, hello, I'm offended, I'm sorry?
No, you're not sorry.
You didn't do anything wrong.
This is stupid.
This is stupid.
McAfee didn't say anything wrong.
Nothing.
I mean, and I think it's terrific.
And you got the black girls and they're pushing the, you know, the...
Body checking.
Make it!
Make it racial!
I don't care.
It doesn't matter.
Bring on heat.
This is what makes it exciting.
I come from the school of the old days of professional wrestling where you had the heel and the baby face and that's it.
Could you name anybody before other than Brittany Griner who was arrested in Russia?
That's it.
This is terrific.
Look.
Bottom line is simply this.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, find out what somebody's intention was, what their intent was.
Sometimes people will say some very nice things and be very racist.
Well, you know, she's doing the best she can.
No!
Stop that!
You're placating her.
You're patronizing her.
What are you getting at?
I said nothing wrong.
No, it's your tone of voice.
See, that would be racist or sexist or whatever it is, but I said nothing wrong.
It's the intent.
It's the inflection.
It's the purpose.
The fact that I have to even explain this is we are losing our minds.
All right?
So all I know is because of this young lady, I'm paying attention.
And I love when the black women get on there and they talk trash and they bring a kind of a street cred.
Somebody said, you know, Playground, ghetto, urban, whatever you want to call it, I don't care.
Make it interesting.
Think professional wrestling.
Give it a story.
Anybody who looks at the world of professional basketball and doesn't see a racial component is blind.
With all due respect to my sightless friends, you've got to be blind not to see what's going on.
That's what makes it exciting.
That's all.
The Great White Hope, Jerry Cooney, do we have to go through this?
Do we have to go through historically?
Doesn't matter.
All right, dear friends.
Thanks for walking.
What do you think?
Am I wrong?
Am I full of prunes?
As my mother would say, am I full of prunes?
Am I all wet?
I don't know.
I don't think so.
