Good evening, dear friends.
This is the Saturday version of This Thing of Ours, May the 18th, evening version, 7 p.m., 7.20 p.m., no, 7.12 p.m., roughly.
Eastern Time.
A hearty hello and a hi-yo sober and a welcome to you.
We have a lot to talk about.
A variety of, a cacophony of subjects.
We're going to be talking about Harrison Butker.
We're going to be talking about a lot of things.
We're going to be talking about a fellow by the name of Andrew Linder.
And you can say, who is that?
This is one of the most remarkable young men that we had the, I had the opportunity of meeting today and I will tell you about that.
Why this is so critical.
So why all this matters.
We're going to be talking about Charlie Chaplin and what we've learned about that and how do we apply Charlie Chaplin to podcasting.
We're going to be talking to street parades, how I see a revitalization of community, of people coming back, coming out of the recesses of this horrible world that we lived in post-COVID.
Also, we're going to be talking about some wonderful news, I think.
Well, a celebration of incoherence.
I'm going to tell you about something that I saw from a lot of young people who were trying their best, I guess, to make a statement.
It was one of the most ludicrous statements I've seen regarding the Israeli-Palestinian issue.
And this is one of those things where I don't understand why people don't care more about trying not to be elucid.
Why they don't care about Paying attention.
In any event, dear friends, before we begin, let me say, first of all, please subscribe.
Make sure you are subscribed.
Make sure you are a part of this.
Make sure you are connected to this.
Make sure you like these videos.
Make sure you are a part of the notification structure because it's so critical to us and to you.
And before we begin...
This very, very, very important and critical world.
Listen to me now, especially with what's going on post-COVID.
Listen to this one.
This one is really important about what you do if they do a COVID round two.
What are you going to do?
Pay attention.
Pay attention.
It blows my mind that more people aren't talking about this, that everyone's not talking about this.
The fact is that on Thursday, March 21st, the court ruled that the FDA must delete every social media post addressing the use of ivermectin for treatment or prevention of COVID-19.
It's been determined that the FDA lied into demonizing of ivermectin and other effective drugs for the last four years, vindicating doctors like Dr. Peter McCullough, who stood strong despite every cancellation campaign.
But the question is, okay, How do I get ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine HCQ?
Most doctors still won't even consider prescribing it.
Remember, there will be a next time.
And the Wellness Company's Contagion Emergency Kit, complete with the McCullough Protocol, has you covered.
The only one of its kind, this prescription emergency kit, provides you with a carefully selected assortment.
of effective medications for COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
Ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, HCQ, Z-Pak, Tamiflu, and budesonide, along with a nebulizer so you can rest easy knowing that you have emergency meds on hand along with a guidebook for safe use.
The Wellness Company's Contagion Emergency Kit is a must-have.
Go to twc.health slash Lionel and grab your Contagion Emergency Kit right now That's twc.health slash Lionel and use code Lionel to save $30 and free shipping at checkout.
Kits are only available in the U.S. How poignant is that?
How poignant is that?
Pay attention to that one, dear friends.
Now, as we move on, let me remind you of a couple of things.
And first and foremost, number one.
This morning, Mrs. L and I, immediately after our morning show, went to Central Park.
And I got to tell you something, it was one of the most beautiful days you have ever seen.
It was, first of all, we had, the park was packed.
And we had about 100, we see about 100 cops from the UK, from...
Essex, I think, or Sussex.
They were running with their bobby helmets and the whole thing.
It was packed.
And then there were more people than you could just imagine.
They had an age.
It was the most beautiful thing in the world.
Most beautiful, beautiful thing.
The weather was terrific and the park was filled and it was wonderful.
Well, we went to see a young man who was a member of the Capitol Police who ran from Santa Monica, it's called Pier to Park, from Santa Monica, correct?
Santa Monica Pier to Central Park, over 3,100 miles, with a 15-pound pack to symbolize the...
The struggle and the burden that victims of human trafficking have.
And we were there with a group from Lifeway and this was wonderful.
A group of people working with Mrs. L and Lynn's Warriors to try to help women who are...
Trying to get away to safe houses.
Anyway, it was the most beautiful thing in the world.
And we were there.
New York's finest were there.
They had a contingent.
And he came in and he broke the tape.
And he did it.
I mean, it was something.
It's called Pier to Park.
You can read what he did.
Incredible.
Absolutely incredible.
How many miles does he run a day?
42 miles a day.
It was wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful.
Showing you the spirit of individuals, not the government.
You can forget the government, because the government, if you want to know, probably is more responsible for encouraging human trafficking than anything else, up to and including the music industry, which is what the ditty deal is all about.
So that's number one.
Keep that in mind.
Very, very critical.
Number two.
Uh.
I, I, I, I. I just did a...
If you are a member, a Lionel member, you will see a droplet.
I did a video, a piece, on this man that I respect and I like him, Harrison Butker.
He spoke recently before some folks.
He gave a speech.
And it was to the Benedictine College graduates over the weekend.
He appeared to be rooted in his Christian values.
Jones and Cole Beasley were two of the few players in the league who are related to the NFL.
Anyway, two weeks, people are expressing support.
And basically, he said the following.
I'm going to play this for you.
And the reason why I love it is, number one, it pisses everybody off.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
And if the radical left, radical left, if these rat bastards are upset by this, then I'm for it 100%.
You must be right because you don't catch flack unless you're over the target.
And he's over the target.
And I think it's wonderful and good for him.
God bless him for being...
100% over the target.
Good for you.
Now what did he say exactly?
What did he say that was so horrible?
What did he say that was so problematic?
What was it?
What was the big deal?
What?
What made everybody so upset?
What?
Well, you tell me what he said.
That's problematic.
I'm trying this.
Okay.
Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment.
You should be proud of all that you have achieved to this point in your young lives.
I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you.
How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?
Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
Your marriage and the children you bring into the world?
But what do you mean, children?
We want abortion.
Abortion rights.
Dobbs.
Roe.
Roe against Wade.
Isn't that what we're all about?
The termination of human life?
The expunction?
The expurgation?
The human polarization?
The ablation of human life?
What are you talking about?
Having babies and being a wife?
Wait a minute.
That's gender shaming.
I don't know what the hell that means.
Be a wife.
You mean married?
As to a man?
You mean traditional?
What the hell are you talking about?
What are you talking about?
Don't you love this?
By the way, he said at Benedictine College, and last time I checked, he could say any goddamn thing he wants.
I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabel, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.
a mother.
Good.
I'm on this stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.
I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school.
Good.
Good.
Aw.
And embrace one of the most important titles of all.
Homemaker.
Homemaker!
I love this!
Love this!
Oh, they're going...
Imagine these pink-haired freaks with their...
My pronoun is...
With the studs and the nose and...
Good for you.
Good for you.
Sorry about that, Chief.
Let me get that one again.
This is like the most sensitive thing.
My God!
Let me bring it up again.
Hang on a second.
Let me bring it up again.
Wait a minute.
There we go.
Okay.
There we go.
Gentlemen of the class of 2024.
Hang on.
I'm sorry about that.
I don't want to make you go through this again.
No, it was very good.
Nothing wrong with it.
Let me see where...
Right around here, maybe.
Let's see.
Most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
Yeah.
I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabel, would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living.
living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.
I'm on this stage today and able to be the man I am because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.
I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated.
That all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all, homemaker.
Homemaker!
Homemaker!
Housewife!
Say it!
Housewife!
Mom!
Love it.
Thank you.
She's the primary educator to our children.
She's the one who ensures I never let football or my business become a distraction from that of a husband and father.
She's the person that knows me best at my core, and it is through our marriage that, Lord willing, we will both attain salvation.
I say all of this to you because I have seen it firsthand, how much happier someone can be There you go.
Isabel's dream of having a career might not have come true, but if you asked her today if she has any regrets on her decision, she would laugh out loud without hesitation and say, heck no.
Thank you.
As a man who gets a lot of praise and has been given a platform to speak to audiences like this one today, I pray that I always use my voice for God and not for myself.
Everything I am saying to you is not from a place of wisdom, but rather a place of experience.
I am hopeful that these words will be seen as those from a man not much older than you who feels it is imperative that this class, this generation, and this time in our society stop pretending that the things we see around us are normal.
Isn't that wonderful?
Isn't that wonderful?
I mean, I...
And the reason why I love it, for other reasons...
It's because it makes the people I despise so angry.
It makes the people I despise so angry.
There is absolutely nothing but respect that I have for somebody who says, I want to be a mother.
And if you want to be the wife, that's fine.
Okay, okay.
But mother, homemaker, do you know how difficult that is?
You see, when we were kids, when we lived in the 60s, we had mothers, a mom, and everybody's mother was home.
Nobody's mother worked.
Nobody.
That's what I know.
And when you went, we would play at people's homes.
It was a different time than we'd go to this guy's house, and then we'd just kind of amass.
It was like a swarm.
And eventually we would just, you know, be on bikes, we'd go over here.
And we didn't necessarily know who these people, I mean, we knew who they were, but the mothers would just let us in.
And they were called Mrs. So-and-so.
And we played there, and they were like our mom, and they looked like moms, and they didn't have horrible, hideous tattoos and tramp stamps, and they weren't always trying to be sexy and take pictures of themselves and use filters and live this weird kind of a demented fantasy where all they cared about was themselves.
They didn't go to gyms.
They didn't jog.
They didn't do Pilates.
They didn't do any of that stuff.
I mean, I remember the only time it ever really happened was maybe during Jane Fonda.
It was a big deal when people would do exercises and working at home.
Maybe Jack LaLanne before that.
But they weren't selfish.
And they drove station wagons.
And they picked their kids up and they took kids to doctors and lessons and speech therapy or clarinet lessons or ballet class or tap or whatever it was.
They did this.
And then the father came home and you ate and we took it for granted.
It seemed like, oh, this is rather pedestrian.
It was so American.
Philo Patrick I am.
Philo Patrick, look it up.
And I don't know, somewhere along the line, now by the way, I don't think that's exclusive.
I think there are people who can help in many other ways.
We saw some marvelous nuns today who were part of the, is it LifeWay League or LifeWay Network?
They were wonderful and still are.
Devoting their life to God in a different way.
And if you don't want to have children, that's fine too.
That's fine too.
And if you don't want to get married, that's fine too.
And if you're gay and you want to marry a woman or a man, depending upon whatever, that's fine too.
That's okay.
I mean that.
I'm not saying that.
Nothing wrong with that.
So what?
Good for you.
Be happy.
If you don't want to have kids.
Fine.
If you want to adopt, fine.
Be whatever it is that is a fulfillment, but do not shelve and compartmentalize and mock and demean people who believe in being mothers, who actually go to stores and can cook.
Do you remember?
When your mother cooked, now I know people whose mother, my mother was a great cook.
And she always shared her, passed on her love for cooking and experimenting.
And at the time, cooking, when Julia Child came along, and the Galloping Gourmet, and James Beard, really before that, and then Julia Child really changed this.
And mothers had to do things.
And they watched, maybe they had soap operas.
And it was very 60s, very, very 60s.
And they looked like moms.
And I think, and I say this with all due respect, I think they were beautiful.
I think they looked like women of their age.
I think they looked like, I remember, I can see pictures in my head.
In my head, I can see them.
Pictures of during birthday parties.
We would always go to a birthday party.
And I can see the mothers standing around.
And they must have been just in their 30s.
Maybe, maybe late 20s.
They looked old.
They weren't older looking.
They were mature.
They had responsibility.
And everybody's mother was like your mother.
You know what I mean?
You spoke of Mrs. So-and-so or you spoke of, you know, whatever.
It was just...
And it was honorable and beautiful and important and proper and critical.
And it was...
If that was what you opted to do, fine.
But today we don't want that.
We don't want that because there are people right now, we want to destroy the genders and we also want to destroy women.
Do not kid yourself.
This is not about anything involving the liberation of women.
This is about men wanting to destroy women.
Men, Rachel Levine's encroaching into women's work.
Men destroying women's sports.
Men dressing up like women.
Okay, fine, you're trans, that's terrific.
But it's not...
Now, women, if you think about this, women being men, nobody cares.
Nobody cares.
Chaz Palmentieri, name for me.
How do you name to me the famous...
Cases of women turning to men.
There was that Ellen page, or whatever her page, right?
There was Chaz Palminteri.
Who else?
I mean, not Chaz Palminteri.
Chaz Bono.
Chaz Palminteri.
Chaz Bono.
Or Chaz.
Right?
Who?
Who else?
Nobody.
Nobody's interested in that.
Nobody pushes that.
Nobody's interested in that.
Trans always means men.
Co-opting or seizing upon the identity of a woman.
You don't see the other way around.
For some reason, I don't care.
How about women becoming a part of the NBA?
They can.
Why?
Because they suck.
They can't play against men.
You know it and I know it.
John McEnroe was correct.
If Serena Williams or Venus Williams or these people played, they'd be 700.
You see what's happening?
So this guy comes across, Harrison, all of a sudden he's saying things like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
He is saying something which is wonderful.
And I believe, only one thing I would add, if you don't want to do that, don't feel like you are irregular, atypical, strange, or what have you.
That's all I'm saying.
Do not feel like that's critical.
That is not important.
Be whatever you find fascinating.
And I laud it.
I praise it.
I love it.
And even though there was not one shred, Item of the substance, one scintilla, one atom of anything in me that you would call recognizable faith, religious faith and whatever it is, it doesn't matter.
I respect it.
And I love the idea of people believing in faith, exercising their faith, believing in something, putting themselves, getting themselves out of the equation.
Enough with the solipsistic.
We live in a world of narcissists.
And by the way, if I hear one more narcissist YouTube channel, I'm going to scream.
I know all about narcissists, okay?
You understand this?
I don't care about this anymore.
So good for you.
And all these people are going crazy over that.
You can say anything you want.
Harrison, at a Catholic congregation, say whatever you want.
Anything.
Now I've got to tell you another one too, which I think this is coherent.
This is Eldon and I were driving along right around 56th and Broadway.
Right around there.
Yeah, between 56 and 50...
55 and 56, correct.
Lo and behold, there was a group of people, young people, wearing the keffiyeh masks with their drum.
And I'm thinking, what is this?
What is happening here?
What is this?
Where is this?
Noise.
It sounds like a protest.
And there were a bunch of young people, maybe 10, maybe, in front of the Universal Music, the label, music label, with the sign Zionists Out of Music.
Did you hear what I said?
Zionists Out of Music.
Now listen to me.
Do you have any idea what the hell you're talking about?
Do you know how stupid that is?
What does Zionism in music have to do with the plight of Gazans basically in the middle of a massacre?
Do you expect there to be anything even remotely popular?
Look, there's one thing for you to say.
Stop funding Israel.
Okay, if that's your thing, you can say, all right, there's something that can be done easily.
Stop funding Israel.
Stop funding Israel.
And it ends.
Zionists out of the music business?
What does that even mean?
If I didn't know better, you're a bunch of agent provocateurs put in there to diminish, minimize, and destroy.
The legitimacy and the rational bases of, I think, pro-Palestinian protesters.
That's the most stupid thing I've ever seen in my life.
You're going to do what?
Universal has to disengage, disgorge, disentangle, disband Zionists from what?
Wait a minute, what?
Zionism is not against the law.
Zionism is not against the law.
You can say whatever you want and you can argue with it.
That's fine.
They're making it sound like this is Zionism, Communism, Nazism.
It's not.
We're losing our mind.
So you've got Harrison over here.
He's getting grief because he merely says, I think, women...
But yet, these people protesting Zionists out of the music business?
What does that even mean?
Hey, good news, all you folks in Rafa, ready for the big attack.
Guess what?
They're protesting against Zionism in the music business.
Yeah, they're on 56th Street, whatever, in Manhattan, in front of the Universal.
Yeah, they're good news.
Hey, great!
Because I know Zionism in the music business, in the music labels, is a real problem for you as you are basically barely hanging on.
Sub-subsistence.
Famine.
Disease, death, horror.
I know that your big concern is Zionism in the music business.
This goes to show you when children who have nothing better to do can contaminate portions of an otherwise legitimate cause.
I saw the same thing during Occupy Wall Street.
Case became incoherent.
At least that one was.
But let me remind you, in the world today, in the world, not here, because Americans are clueless, there is an absolute, very powerful voice, a powerful, powerful voice that speaks on behalf of Gazans.
This is absolutely serious business.
By the way, Barbara Bartolini is a new member.
Barbara, welcome aboard.
Have some crumb cake.
Now, before we move on, my friends, I want you to listen to this other important and critical word regarding a critical story, and that's involving food in the event of famine, in the event of stores closing, in the event of supply chain disasters.
Or some type of ransomware breakdown?
Remember that one weekend?
There were gas stations closed because of ransomware.
And if you can't move, if there's no truckers, if there's no delivery, there's no food.
And when there's no food, they will close these stores to avoid problems and riots.
And the insurance companies will close them down.
We can't stay open.
We can't.
We can't.
We don't want to entice and be the epicenter for unrest and the like.
So listen carefully, my friends.
Listen very, very carefully to these important, these critical words from our sponsors at preparewithlionel.com.
It's no longer a question of if something catastrophic is coming, it's when.

My friends, today it was, I said, a beautiful day as Mrs. L and I were walking back from Central Park.
We went down 9th Avenue, and right there in Hell's Kitchen, and lo and behold, it was a time for the annual 9th Avenue food festival.
It was wonderful, and it's better.
Years ago, they would have, like, tube socks, and I bought this thing of garlic powder one time.
I think I had a...
I never got...
I don't know why the hell I bought it.
It was...
You bought weird stuff.
Weird, weird, weird people.
They had, you know, of course, sausage and pepper, some kind of crappy games.
This year, it looked...
It was much, much better.
Much, much more eclectic.
And it was wonderful seeing people just having a great time.
It was so prototypically so...
So New York.
It's like from 56th, 9th Avenue, all the way to, I don't know, who knows.
It's wonderful.
Very, very, very New York.
People having good, kids loving it, and the smell of barbecue.
There was a place called, I put it up on my, I said, jerk off, the jerk off grill.
No, jerk off the grill.
It was jerk chicken.
But the smell of barbecue, oh my God, I just love that.
I just loved it.
And I'm telling you, it was the most beautiful, beautiful day.
It was exquisite.
Absolutely, positively exquisite.
Now, we also noticed some things which are interesting.
During the course, I came across, I was watching, And don't ask me how, but I've come across these various things.
Ladies and gentlemen, Dr. Murph is here.
Dr. Murph says, my mother always said the gym was silly.
She said managing the house, garden, and us kids was all the exercise anyone needs.
You know, Dr. Murph, and by the way, thank you, you're absolutely correct.
They always talk about gardening.
Gardening, bending over, you don't need to be running necessarily for bending and stretching and the benefits of being outside.
I absolutely agree.
And I'm going to say this again, and it of course has to do with the fact that this is what I remember, this is what I grew up with, but I remember, I think women were more attractive when they looked like women.
And they acted like women.
And they were mature.
And we didn't have, and also Dr. Murph, there was this thing where we might have had, and I swear to God, we might have had a, we had a lot of like picture books, you know, where you go and you keep the, you know, photo albums.
And you took a picture, you wait until you used up the role of film.
And we would go to Eckerd's and get the film and put them in.
And we did not constantly look at pictures of ourselves.
Constantly.
Our mothers would always say, Mom, what are you doing?
I'm looking at myself.
Why are you doing this?
There's this thing now on YouTube, I guess, where people are just, they're dancing in there.
They have this mom where they say, this is the mom, this is the daughter, this is...
And I say, oh boy, isn't the mom...
Isn't she so young?
And I'm thinking, this is all she cares about.
We didn't have pictures of ourselves then.
We didn't have pictures of ourselves constantly.
We weren't always looking in cameras.
Maybe we had a mirror.
We didn't even look at ourselves in a mirror.
Seriously.
If you were narcissistic, solipsistic, whatever the particularistic you were at the time, You didn't have a lot of times for it to manifest.
Social media changed everything.
You have no idea.
I saw something the other day and nobody understands what I'm saying.
If I put a picture of me and I post it and I have a white, long white beard And I really changed the color of my skin.
I look like a black man.
I really changed the hue of my skin.
I have a long white beard.
And maybe I have, I don't know, make my hair curly or like an afro or something.
And maybe I add 30 pounds or whatever.
And I put the picture in.
And I said, what is that?
Oh, that's a filter.
What?
I used a filter.
Ladies, do you use a filter?
Anybody have a filter?
By the way, Lizzie's got a new thumbnail.
Is that what I'm seeing there?
I can't.
My eyes are...
Lizzie's got it very nice.
By the way, walking is the greatest thing in the world.
Walking is one of the greatest things in the world.
I don't know why people think you have to run.
I don't know where that came from.
Do you think that marathon runners live exceedingly, they live longer than others?
No?
No?
Well, I mean, not that that's the sole criterion for this.
But anyway.
So if I did this, if somebody said, hey, why do you have a long white beard and an afro and you look like a black man?
You change your, oh no, no, that's a filter.
And they would say, no, no, that's not a filter.
You change the way you look.
So I know people who will drop 50 or more pounds.
50 pounds.
They will slim themselves up.
I don't even know who, and they call it a filter.
It's like, that's not a filter.
That's an adulteration.
You don't look like that.
Filter might be smooth out this, darken the shade, maybe clear, I don't know, maybe blur a picture, sharpen the picture, remove the background.
That's a filter.
Shaving 60 pounds off you is not a filter.
That's camouflage.
That's not you.
It's like me looking like Uncle Remus or something or looking like Van Johnson.
I don't look like that.
It's not a filter.
Do you hear what I'm saying?
There are people who are saying, no, I want to look like that.
You don't look like that.
This picture you're posting, that looks like, it doesn't even look like you.
It's a filter.
Goddammit, it's not a filter.
You are distorting yourself.
You don't look like this.
You want to look like this.
Well, it doesn't matter.
If I post it, I look like it.
Do you hear what I'm saying?
You people, not you people, but they talk about narcissism all the time.
There is something weird that's happening here.
There's a detached reality where people are saying, I want to look like something else.
I want to look like, I don't want to look like this.
So I'm going to say I look like this.
But you don't.
You're not fooling anybody.
It doesn't matter.
I don't live here.
Listen to me carefully.
I live in Instagram.
I live in Instagram.
Where I put music behind me.
Where I live there.
You don't understand.
It's a place I go to and I look at it and say, oh look.
Look how happy I am in that.
There's music behind this.
And there's stars.
Remember when it is demented.
And when I was a kid and you were a kid, We had maybe a snapshot.
Did any of you do...
What's that called?
What was the thing called?
Malls?
Fashion...
Fashion...
Oh, God, not fashion.
Fashion shots?
No.
Huh?
Beauty shots?
Yeah, I remember that with the...
Glam shots?
Glam shots.
There was a name for you.
You go in, and people would...
They had this one style where you would turn your head like you broke your neck.
What are they called?
You know what I'm talking about.
Come on.
What's the name of this?
It's called Fashion Shots.
There was a name for it.
Glamour Shots.
Yeah, Glamour Shots.
But there was a name for it.
It was called...
Anyway.
That was as close to it as anything.
That's it.
Yeah, Glamour Shots.
Okay.
That was at Glamour Shots.
Yeah.
Glamour Shots by Deb.
I love that.
Deb.
Yeah, Glamour Shots.
Remember that?
So 90s.
That's right.
That was maybe you went to a photographer.
Did you ever go to a photographer where you're standing there next to your sisters or your brothers and the old man and the mothers in front and you stood to the side and you put your hand on the shoulder and you have this stupid background like a babbling brook or a library.
It's stupid.
There was one of the BTK killers.
Remember him?
Dennis Reeder?
Yeah.
Ridgeway was a Green River killer.
Yeah, this is...
Anyway, he's in one of these things.
That's it.
Maybe you had a picture.
Maybe you had a picture of your...
from school.
Remember when you take a school picture?
Maybe you did that one.
When I was at Jesuit High School in 1972 was our first...
Actually, we started in 71. 72 was our freshman year.
And they had the worst photographer.
I've got my book here.
It is the worst thing.
And we had a guy whose father was the photographer.
And he wanted to say, say whiskey.
He thought that was like cheese, whiskey.
And he would say, say whiskey.
And he'd say, what?
And click.
They would do the click.
And all of a sudden we're like this.
Huh?
Huh?
We all look like we were like demented.
So I remember bringing my pictures to my mother.
Nah, it's okay.
She said, don't you want a picture?
We didn't have pictures of ourselves.
Today you've got a thousand.
Liz Zoluck says, I forgot how long to cook corn in the cob and the husk in the microwave.
I did it last year and it came out perfect.
Look at Liz.
Very, very simple.
I say three minutes.
Very, very, very simple.
You know how you cut the end off?
And you squeeze it?
I do a video on that.
Did you see my video on corn?
It's the greatest thing in the world.
Corn in the cob is...
But in the husk is the greatest.
Let me find it for you.
If you go on my...
It sounds very, very simple.
Kind of a simple thing.
It's also years ago there was a way we used to make roast beef that was perfect.
But in any event.
So, as I was saying.
It's three minutes by the way.
Liz.
Miss new thumbnail.
Now.
As I was saying.
I know you don't understand the picture.
It's the most profound thing you can imagine.
I'm telling you.
I'm.
I'm telling you.
It is so demented.
It is so scary.
It is so significant.
But you're so used to it, you don't think anything of it.
You don't think anything of it?
Anyway, so I was watching something, this wonderful piece on Chaplin.
Charlie Chaplin changed everything.
Charlie Chaplin changed everything.
Everything.
There was nothing.
Movies were just, they went from vaudeville to movies.
He was international.
They were silent.
He didn't need to know how to speak English.
The voices didn't matter.
He was a genius.
He created the Medium.
Now, one of these days, if you live, I'm sure you do, you will live, if you talk to kids, you're going to say, we were there during one of the greatest revolutions of all time, and that's the information revolution.
The only people who ever told us what was happening, It was somebody from one of the three networks.
And then this thing called the Internet came along.
And all of a sudden you could take a picture at home.
You could take your computer like this, put a light on, have a microphone, and you are giving the news.
And if somebody likes you, why is Joe Rogan so popular?
I mean, I could force myself, but I don't know why he's that popular.
I don't know.
Why is Lex Friedman this popular?
He's becoming greater and better and better than anything else.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I can give you an answer, but I don't know.
I think there are other people who are interesting as well.
Do you recognize the fact of what this means?
So what I'm trying to say is, Charlie Chaplin came along and he said, I'm going to invent this thing called movies.
Nobody even knew what they did.
It was always melodramatic, it was over the top, it was exaggerated, it was all kinds of stuff.
But he decided about lighting.
Then other people came along and they showed their own genius.
Their own style.
Their own means of precision.
Their own style.
And it's the style part which is the most interesting to me.
Not the fact that you're doing it, but there's a style.
So, one day, maybe you don't realize it, when you see things that are happening right now in the world, Before our very eyes, what you're seeing is like somebody watching the advent of silent movies.
What we're seeing right now is so important and so critical.
If you want to see what's going on regarding Tiffany Henier, Tiffany A. I got the T. Please watch my...
I'm fascinated by her.
Fascinated.
The best stuff is not what you're going to see on TV.
But what citizens put together.
This is revolutionary.
This is revolutionary.
What we're seeing right now is...
And everything that people thought about regarding news is over.
Everything.
Everything.
It's done.
The influence, the bias, it's done.
And it's one of the greatest things ever.
And you're a part of this.
You're seeing this.
It's not just me, but it's a lot of other people showing their stuff.
This is monumental.
Oh, and by the way, as I was walking by, we're driving by today, we saw the Universal Records Studios or whatever, and that's music.
I thought, you don't need that.
You don't need to.
You know, in the hood, there's a place called the Power Station.
Where Rick Beato goes there, and a lot of the big stories, Electric Ladyland, well, there used to be, there was one place, it used to be La Barba on 57th Street, but that was one of the studios, Electric Ladyland was there, and there were a lot of the Gibson Hit Factory and all this stuff, right around here.
You're not going to need this.
You don't need to go in there.
You don't need to go in there.

Let me go here.
Let's see if we got it.
Oh, Liz Solak says, I forgot.
Oh, sorry, I already read that.
Yes, I'm sorry.
I'm reading your Corrin question one more time.
You know, my friends...
I want you to just step back for a moment.
And always look and always ask, where am I right now?
And look how things are changing drastically.
Look how things are changing drastically.
I want, by the way, Liz, for others to remind you that for reasons I don't know, but when I was growing up as a kid, We had, maybe you were the same way.
Vegetables were, you know, it was okay.
In the 60s, we had salad.
And salad was like, okay.
Salad meant iceberg lettuce.
That was it.
With a tomato.
Maybe a cucumber.
And if you're crazy.
Maybe a little bit of green pepper or something.
Remember that Green Goddess dressing?
You had that little shaker, the carafe, where you put the stuff in, you shake it up, and it was the Italian dressing, and you pour it around.
That was as exciting as it got.
Iceberg lettuce.
That's it.
Iceberg.
Period.
Iceberg lettuce.
You got it?
Good.
It's as good as it got.
Iceberg lettuce.
Then all of a sudden somebody says, okay, if you're really, maybe if you're feeling kind of crazy, maybe if you're feeling a little crazy, maybe, maybe we'll go into something like, oh, I don't know, something like spinach salad.
Oh, my God.
That's right, spinach salad with bacon and...
Oh, that's exotic.
Remember that one?
Oh my God, spinach salad.
Jeez, that's God.
Right?
See how that thing works?
That was spinach salad.
Then maybe Caesar salad.
Whoa!
Now we're getting crazy.
Caesar salad.
Dear God.
Wow.
Remember that?
It was just...
And then growing up as a kid, remember when the, I don't know about you, but Chinese food?
Chinese food!
We didn't have Chinese.
It was Chongqing.
Remember that?
Remember Chongqing?
That was it.
Chongqing.
And then there was maybe there, by the way, here is the this is my corn Email for you, Liz.
This is for you.
This is my corn email.
This is one of the best things ever.
There we go.
You know who has one of the best cooking shows around?
I'm going to give you this guy's name.
I'm sure you found it.
I want to make sure I get his name correctly.
I want to make sure I get his name correct, because there is so much, and thank God, there's so much great stuff.
Hang on.
His name is Chef Jean-Pierre.
He has one of the best.
Chef Jean, like Karine Jean-Pierre?
That's J-E-A-N hyphen Pierre.
He goes, hello my friend, the onion.
It's the best, including things about how to chop onions, how to slice, how to do certain things, how to make sauces, little tricks, little whatever it is.
But going back to vegetables.
When we were kids, we didn't have them.
Maybe asparagus.
You can go to a store right now and get everything from kohlrabi to name it, star fruit to different kinds of mushrooms from lion's mane to trumpets to oysters and probably just the plethora of food today.
Please enjoy vegetables.
You will never need, and I know people don't understand this, and they don't want to hear this, and I'm not, I'm not, I am not preaching.
You never need meat.
Ever.
You don't need it.
And it's okay.
It tastes great.
Oh, my God.
But everything you know, beans and just everything you know, Everything you need, I should say.
Let me also tell you something.
While we're on this subject, if you really want to lose weight without trying, if you really want to, I mean really seriously, eat as much as you want until you're satisfied.
I know people, it goes against everything and believe me, I was one of those people.
There's no way I'm going to do this.
But you cannot believe how much there is to eat Without meat.
And you will not believe how much weight you lose.
And you're not even trying.
That's all I'm going to say.
And vegetables are just unbelievable.
And every culture, every country, everybody, everybody has it.
When it comes to things like meat, you can barbecue it, you can fry it, You can saute it.
You can stew it.
You can do whatever it is.
That's fine.
But vegetables?
Seemingly endless.
Try getting into something.
Use a tagine.
You ever done that before?
Oh!
Brilliant!
Brilliant!
Make your own bread.
Un...
Unreal.
There is nothing in the world.
And it's so easy.
No bread maker is required.
And everything you need to know is on YouTube.
Everything.
Start at whatever level.
And that's why I think it's important.
I don't think it's just women, but I think men.
You should be able to know how to cook for yourself.
It's one of those things in life.
You should be able to know what to do.
How to think when you go to the store.
How do you prepare stuff?
There are some people, it's one thing not to like how to cook, I understand it, but to not know, to not know how to cook, where you can't do it.
I remember one time there was a, I don't think I ever, my father never cooked anything in his life.
Maybe an egg or something for himself, but never.
Never.
I saw one time, the Honeymooners.
And it was Ralph?
No, no, no, no.
I love Lucy.
And the girls were out.
And it was Ricky and Fred.
They were upset.
And they had a can of, like, beans or something with the lid up.
They obviously used the...
And they were eating cold beans out of a can because Lucy and Ethel weren't able to cook for them.
They didn't know what to do.
They were lost.
It's the most stupid thing I've never...
How can you not know how to cook something?
How can you not know...
There are people that I know who cannot cook.
They don't know how to do anything.
They don't know how to do anything.
Let me also tell you something right now.
If you can get a hold of this, they're not a sponsor.
I'm just telling you the best.
The best tomato sauce in the world.
For a foundation.
Marinara is terrific.
If you think that you need meatballs in the spaghetti for marinara, the best is a company out of Brooklyn called Victoria.
You get it online.
It's the best.
Period.
End of discussion.
Go online.
See how they make it.
They got the vat.
It's simply the best there is.
And it's closest to a sweeter, kind of a southern Italian, more of a Sicilian, kind of a sweeter, more northern.
I don't want to say it's bitter.
It's a different style.
It's a different style.
I'm just telling you.
And now that the season's coming here, we have our farmer's markets are opening up.
We go to a place in New Jersey, in a place called Colts Neck.
I love it.
It's called Delicious Orchards.
And it is just holy cow.
And when Jersey corn comes in, that's it.
That's it.
And the tomatoes?
I swear to God, there is nothing.
You have never, you never knew.
Most of you wonderful people have never tasted something that's so sweet and so red.
And so, where you cut it, the water, I mean, because you get those kind of waxy, kind of waxy gourd, you know, those kind of tomatoes that are, oof.
No.
It is God's bounty.
Nature's bounty, my friends.
Okay?
I mean that sincerely.
Alright, dear friends.
The brand new video is up, I believe.
Hang on a second.
The video Please see this.
Please see the video.
Regarding my thoughts on Mr. Butker, as it were.
Let me see.

Just a minute.

Yep, there it is.
There it is.
