I'm fascinated why so few people spend so little time.
Actually, I'm surprised why so few people spend any time thinking about the connotations, the message.
The dynamics of an earthquake, of this concept of subduction and how precarious we are floating on this ball of magma with sliding tectonic plates.
But the fascinating question that even is to me in someone who is Absolutely, admittedly irreligious.
Is the notion of, is this God sending a message?
This is what I find to be the most fascinating.
And it's something which I think we all need to address.
Whether you believe in anything or anything at all.
Let me read to you this.
And this is the inspiration from Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Who is fascinating to me because she will...
Teeter from almost profound visionary, sometimes to seeming, you know, bansheed lunatic, depending upon your perspective.
This is what she wrote.
God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent.
This is a Christian message.
This is a Christian message.
Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come.
The eclipse is a sign for us to repent.
I pray that our country listens.
Will any amount of time be spent with this?
No.
Should it?
Absolutely.
This evinces a phenomenon that has been with the human form since we first Walked around.
It's the ability and the need for the ability to make a connection between that which we see and that which we don't understand.
And we connect the two.
It's as human and as reflexive as a patellar reflex.
That critical.
That important.
It's this critical, critical moment of connection.
That's all.
This connection.
It's fascinating.
Absolutely fascinating.
And when you see this, there are a lot of faiths and religions that don't understand the notion of repent, original sin, You know, the notion of you have sinned, though sometimes there is.
So this is obviously a Christian point of view.
You can ask yourself, do you think it in any way imposes a presumption on the rest of the world, as though they would understand what a Christian point of view is, or does it even matter?
If Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib Jerry Nadler, somebody were to suggest and point to what has happened as something referenced in Mohammedan faith or something Talmudic or Abrahamic or what have you.
A lot of folks would say, wait a minute, aren't you presumptuous?
Aren't we a Christian nation?
Well, not necessarily.
No, we're not.
Especially due to the Treaty of Tripoli.
But it's fascinating.
And while I don't chide or object to this, I don't say anybody's right or wrong, I'm not saying that at all.
What I'm saying, and what fascinates me, more than anything, is how we always want to put something to it.
We love, we are in the year 2024.
Acting as though we are still looking at fire in the sky.
Attributing it to the days of Norse mythology and Greek and Roman and gods and Aries.
It is so human.
And for God to say, that didn't do anything.
You had a little earthquake and an aftershock.
What does that mean?
Repent?
Is that the way God shows?
In 1960, in Chile, that 9.5 world historical record, that might have made more sense.
Do you know what a 10 magnitude would be?
A 10?
It would be unbelievable.
Don't let that phone bother you.
I'm not getting it.
And by the way, I won't tell him you're here.
But this is something which is the most interesting of all.
And I say it right now.
I am a person who is fascinated by everything.
And I mean that.
I, from current technology to the way we think politically, the way we think, especially en masse.
I love our behavior.
I love our superstitions.
I love the way we think.
And I love the way we don't ever question anything.
And when this happened, when this earthquake happened, at 10.23, on April the 5th, 4.05, I immediately was pulled to just spend the day researching and listening and learning.
Understanding, I mean, I had a kind of a rudimentary understanding of how these things work, but not really anything that deep.
And when I saw this this morning, Marjorie Taylor Greene, who, by the way, recently when she was on Tucker Carlson, I think she was absolutely superb.
Superb.
And then there are some other times when she says things which might be for various reasons, but in my humble opinion, I don't think she's at all insane or anything, but she says things that are rather, well, rather pedestrian.
Sometimes a tad rougher on the edges, but still important, still in making a point.
You know that politics is theater.
And that theater is improv.
And there is no script and there's no direction.
And sometimes incredible moments of scintillating poignancy are made.
And other times it's just throwaway.
So think about this.
Do you believe God is asking us to repent?
And if we said, all of us, Okay, we repent.
Does that mean to repent or to change?
And what if you do not believe in God?
What if you are an atheist?
What if you are irreligious?
What if you are a Buddhist?
What if you do not enjoy atheism?
What happens then?
I so enjoy your comments, so enjoy your analysis and analyses.
