I changed my gender today.
I'm a woman.
I changed my name.
My name now?
Lashandra Jackson.
Oh!
And I changed my race.
I'm African American.
I prefer to be called a Negress, if you don't mind.
I've also changed my age.
I'm 27 years old.
And my height.
I'm 6 '3".
My weight as well.
I upped it.
I weigh 250 pounds.
I've changed my eye color.
I've also changed my ethnicity.
I'm not American.
I'm French.
Now, you might ask yourself, how did you do this?
It's simple.
I just did it.
Because I wanted to do it.
And that is the message of Leah Thomas.
I just changed.
And it's very easy for me, at least in the case of a professional athlete or an amateur athlete, As was indicated by the lawsuit by Riley Gaines and others, it was posited that in order to compete as a woman,
you either decrease or affect testosterone levels, and you just evince and indicate a desire to be a woman.
Now, with that in mind, that might be the most difficult in terms of actual biological metrics because you could very well say there is something that is indicative of gender via genetics and the like.
But you see, when it comes to race, what is race?
What does it even mean?
What does it even mean?
It's anything I want it to mean.
Because there is no such thing as race.
What does race mean?
I don't know.
You look at Barack Obama and you say, he's black.
Oh, I think he's white.
Well, who wins?
Who's right?
Do you say mixed?
Or is that, that sounds almost like some kind of weird pedigree or something.
Like one of these weird, you know, it's a cock-a-doodle.
No, we don't speak like that.
But what is race?
I don't know what race is.
Is there something actual, tangibly, biologically measurable?
Is there a racial metric?
I don't believe so.
Because you can be biracial.
And I guess you could say tri-racial.
But you can't be...
Bigendered.
You can be bisexual, but bigendered, technically speaking, is hermaphroditic.
And, in some cases, that is considered to be a medical anomaly.
A pathology, even.
So it gets very, very complicated.
Very complicated, indeed.
Rachel Dolezal claimed to be black.
They said she wasn't.
And the people who took most offense at this were black folks who said, you are not black.
Well, what does black mean?
Why is Barack Obama black?
Well, because you could say his father was black, but his mother was white.
Does one negate the other?
No.
So could he call himself white?
Not by convention.
You see, the depiction, the appellation that is used, the taxonomy, As to race, the rules of, by the way, these rules are not enforced, they're not written down,
but the rule seems to be, if a person enjoys a significant racial component that is non-white, then that person becomes That non-white component.
Now, there was a time in the old days when we would consider race, using the old Margaret Mead definitions, as Caucasoid, Negroid, and Mongoloid.
We don't go that.
There was also Malay and other versions of this.
So, an Asian, well, not Asian-American, that's national, but an Asian, a Chinese mother and a Caucasoid father could claim to be Asian.
The term that we use, kind of a misnomer.
Now there's an unwritten rule also that works this way.
Depending upon how you look aesthetically, and this is never discussed, never discussed by any stretch of the imagination, we don't get that, but how you look and the degree by which you carry Certain traits on this.
Think of it as an Overton window.
Purely aesthetic.
Purely based upon your ideas of what is and isn't prototypical for a race.
Think about it this way.
If you were describing to a police officer somebody who robbed you or who was the victim and you had to describe somebody.
How would you do it?
What would you say?
That's the best indicator of how you truly feel, how you truly see the world.
Now, I also mentioned age.
Why must I be stuck with my chronological age?
I am 65 years, but that's what my parents told me.
That's what was on my birth certificate.
You see...
Years ago or a while back, we had cisgendered.
Cisgendered people were told or said that I was listed as male on my birth certificate.
I agree and comport and comply with that which is listed on my birth certificate.
I adhere to that version.
I accept it.
I consent.
To that which was indicated at the time of my birth.
Now, of course, genitalia, pudenda, the accoutrement of genitalia, that apparently has something to do with it.
So, if I can take that, that cisgender attitude as accepting or not accepting that which is on my birth certificate, then why?
Why should I have to accept the age that was provided to me on my birth certificate?
Why?
What's the point of that?
Why must I acknowledge your version of height?
Why should I recognize inches, centimeters by virtue of you trying to take my stature and reduce it to a number that you call Inches or feet or what have you?
Meters?
Oh, no, no, no, no, no.
No, I reject that completely.
And the same thing goes for weight.
You're telling me that my weight, that I must comply and comport and remain consistent with your depiction, your ideation, your ideology of what weight is?
Oh, no, no, no, no.
I'm a 27-year-old black woman who is 6 '3 and weighs 250 pounds.
And I defy you to tell me why what I just told you, why is that absurd?
If Leah Thomas, 6 '4, whatever it was, could just...
Compete against women.
If Michael Phelps or LeBron James put on a wig or just one day said, you know, I'm making some form of adaptational tweak to my...
testosterone levels, I'm acting accordingly.
You would probably think that's one of the silliest things anybody said.
He's LeBron James.
He's Michael Phelps.
You can't do this.
No.
Because the moral of the story is whether you're talking about Caucasians, negritude, gender, combinations there are, you must allow a certain Cadre of individuals, all the rights, all the abilities, all the regulatory rules to think and do anything they want.
Whether it's regarding gender, whether it's regarding sex or participatory bases.
And it is frankly absurd.
And they are just trying to see how far they can push you before you say enough.
This is insanity.
You know it and I know it.
You're a rational person who means no one, no harm.
