Let me give you a little brief overview as far as what the Supreme Court says as far as hate speech.
Or violent speech, or mean speech, or nasty speech, or speech that is likely to incite, or to cause people to lose their minds.
The case is Brandenburg against Ohio in 1969, and it involved a Klan rally that uttered the most despicable, vile, racist build you could ever imagine.
And the Supreme Court said that you can stop speech.
That is, A, directed at causing, inciting, producing violence, some unlawful reaction.
It is directed to accomplish that.
And number two, if it is likely to incite, invoke, inspire, cause, encourage, whatever it is, that.
It's got to be directed, and it's got to be likely.
No matter how horrible it is that someone says, whether it's anti-Semitic, if it's Islamophobic, if it is transphobic, if it is phobic, if it is vile and despicable and spews and it's execrable and it just is the most vile and
Humanly disgusting misinformation, disinformation, data information, you name it.
If it is not directed, if it is not directed at causing, inciting, whatever, and if it is not likely to inspire that which is directed, it's completely okie-dokie under the law to say it.
You hear that, Elon Musk?
It is completely okie-dokie.
And more than that, if you find yourself in any form of, I don't know what you want to call it, social media, whatever, and if there's something there that you found to be vile and disgusting and hateful, go away.
Make it go away.
Turn it off.
Go someplace else.
Don't watch it.
Yeah, but you don't understand.
That's anti-Semitic.
What about people who show vile video footage of kids beating the hell out of a New York City cop?
Or beating somebody because of their Jewish faith?
Or their clothing?
Or their kippah or yarmulke?
Or whatever.
Do you understand what we're talking about?
If somebody wears the kefir, I know I'm mispronouncing these terms, but if somebody wears something that is pronounced, pronouncedly Palestinian, and somebody's beaten up and you show people beaten up, why isn't that reportage, why isn't that considered in and of itself?
Inspiring heat and violence and the like.
Why?
Because it's reporting something.
That's it, because it's merely reporting something.
Now let me tell you something.
We are this close, this close from losing every bit of freedom of speech that we have.
Leave my social media alone.
And Elon Musk, leave him alone.
Okay?
I love the way they're so worried about, oh, we have to stop this because these people are saying things that are Nazi.
What about in Ukraine?
What about the right sector?
What about the Azov Battalion?
Oh, come on.
What do you mean it's a different story?
Do you or do you not care about Nazis?
Well, I do, sort of.
Do you know what a Nazi is?
Well...
Do you know National Socialism?
Do you mean Hitlerian?
Do you mean violent?
Do you mean anti-war?
What do you mean?
What the hell do you even mean?
Do half of the people who are, by the way, who are all of a sudden summoned, for some reason, 30 bucks a pop sometimes at these spontaneous rallies, could they find Gaza or the West Bank or East Jerusalem or Israel on a map?
On a globe?
Do you think so?
Or is this this Tunbergian version of a kind of a you know, this climate change stuff?
Now, I'm not saying everybody who feels one way or the other either pro-Israeli, pro-Palestinian, or pro-Hamas.
I'm not saying everybody is without the basic understanding of what's going on.
But a lot of them are.
And even if that's true, so what?
I want my speech to remain unfettered and to remain exactly such intact.
Unmolested by a bunch of, dare I say, do-gooders who want to make the world pure and devoid of nasty thoughts.
That ain't going to happen.
