There was something called Trump Derangement Syndrome.
And it is defined as a disparaging term often employed to characterize critiques or negative responses directed at former President Donald Trump.
It implies that these reactions are perceived as irrational and demonstrate a lack of consideration for Trump's actual policy stances.
It indicates a psychopathology, a kind of an aberrant behavior that is unwarranted regarding this absolutely maniacal hatred of Trump.
Move that out of the way and enter...
Israeli or Israel derangement syndrome, which I believe is a term that might have been coined initially by Alan Dershowitz.
Now, as you know, today in our country, we go berserk over everything.
The newest craze?
Going nuts when somebody in an airline or airplane drops or reclines their seat.
You can do anything short of killing the person.
It doesn't matter.
We have Karens who scream about masks or used to.
We have people who will scream at you if you dare to question climate change.
Scream at you if you dare to question the efficacy of vaccines.
Scream at you.
When you arrested, were you to ever in any way suggest that perhaps the 2020 election was anything short of absolutely perfect?
We overdo it.
We love to hate.
Now, for some particular reason, I don't know why.
People are having a difficult time understanding the difference between Israel and Judaism or Jews.
You, let me clarify this, can be absolutely against the Israeli government's position as to Palestine, Gaza, West Bank, Hamas, whatever you want.
There are people in Israel who are Jewish who would agree with that.
There are people who are in Israel who are anti-Zionist who are Jewish and in Israel.
There are people who live in Israel who aren't even Jewish and who are Arab or Baha 'i and they happen to live.
They are citizens of Israel.
So these are things which anybody with two working neurons knows.
I know.
You know.
But...
It doesn't matter, because today we love to hate, and especially among the younger folks, the easily manipulated, easily confused, easily, I guess, stirred up, if you will, people who love these concocted hate.
Of vectors, of whatever.
They are having a field day going after everything and anything that is either Israeli but unfortunately Jewish.
I have a friend.
A friend happens to be Jewish.
He owns a business.
He has a, he decided to put up some little flags, little Israeli flags, on his site, on his, in front of his business.
17-year-old kid walks by, grabs it, stamps on it, and throws it away.
I said, you know, it's probably not a good idea for you to do this.
He says, but I have a right to do it.
I said, yes, you do have a right to do it.
There are folks who dared to bring up, you know, Charlie Hebdo.
And you know what happened with that?
These people are crazy.
These people are nuts.
I am telling you.
It's this new world we live in.
And even though I know what you're saying is true, even though I know that you can support your country, I don't know one thing my country has done, my government has done, maybe since World War II, that I would say, sign me up for that.
I agree.
So I've never thought of myself as un-American.
I understand how I can support my country, but not my government.
Try making that distinction today.
Because it is now much like the same mindless fad magnet, magnetism if you will, this weird pathology and addiction that we have to fads that make people walk around with these hideous tattoos because they want above all to fit in.
And if fitting in is to scream and yell against Israel and to confuse the issue of Israeli military action with Judaism, don't worry about it.
It doesn't matter.
Nobody's going to correct you because we're stupid today.
Now let me fill you in on a few things.
I have been saying...
Since October the 7th, Israeli government, Israeli military, you really should be rethinking this.
I understand what you are saying.
I understand what Hamas means.
I understand all of this.
I recognize the arguments that are being made.
I understand how Gaza has been used as basically a launching.
platform for missiles and the like, and how unfortunately the people of Gaza have been caught in the crossfire.
And I understand that.
But I have been saying, you're being played by Hamas!
They are playing you.
They're pulling you into this.
You can't do this.
The only solution is going to be from some third party, maybe like an MBS or Jordan or Xi Jinping or Putin or somebody coming in to say, we're going to do this.
It's not going to be the United States who helps.
It's not going to be sheer military brute force.
If you pulverize, if you destroy, if you level Gaza, this is the worst thing on earth.
So many levels.
It sounds crass to say from a public relations point of view or from a political point of view.
No!
This is not the way to do it.
You are right.
You are right.
And by the way, folks of Palestinian origin, those living in there, Palestinian, you are correct too.
The pictures that you're showing, I don't dispute them.
You've got a tremendously valid and heart-wrenching story.
This has got to stop.
Now, you hear what I just said?
Did I say anything anti-Israel?
Did I say anything anti-Palestinian?
Anti-Abou Mazin?
Anti-West Bank?
Did I say anything like that?
I talked about this.
And by the way, do you want me to sit and explain, to go on the record, is Hamas a terrorist organization?
Do you think that's the litmus test?
Do you think that's it?
If you're in Gaza, and you see Hamas as, for the first time, for the first time, calling attention to your plight, even though you might disagree with a particular methodology, you don't see?
How they might think differently about it than you do.
If you can't see it, you have no business opining about foreign policy.
You have no sense of realism.
That being said, I've got to tell you two stories.
One, on Twitter, or X, whatever it's called this week, I noticed I was blocked by a friend of mine.
Very good friend of mine.
I thought, maybe he made a mistake.
Sometimes people are blocked.
And he said, sorry, old friend.
Palestine is a red line for me.
I'm thinking, what the hell does that mean?
What?
What, am I in the government?
Did I do something?
What?
Who the hell am I?
Thank you very much for considering me of being of such magnitude that I have a particular active say in this, but what do you think I did precisely?
What?
It doesn't matter.
We're not friends anymore.
Okay, fine.
Another one.
There was a show.
Somebody suggested, maybe you should come on, but, you know, I don't know.
We're pretty adamant about Israel, whatever it is.
I said, okay, so am I. What are you talking about?
Because I did not Have or possess that fire-breathing anti-Israel position versus, as I've said, the military position of Israel is ridiculous.
This is not working.
This is not good.
Do you want me to go back and undo 1948?
Is this the Nakba argument?
I don't understand this.
During Vietnam, I remember saying, I respect and want our brave men and women to come back from this war, this terrible place, as they are involved in a world or in a war that is so barbaric and so wrong.
I never turn my back.
I never call them baby killers.
I never...
I never lost allegiance to my fellow Americans who got sucked into a war.
But I saw the point of view of the Vietnamese.
And I understood how they felt.
And how we look like terrorists vis-a-vis them.
The same way the Japanese looked at Tibbetts and the Enola Gay as not exactly being purveyors of peace either.
I'm able to understand.
I like...
F. Scott Fitzgerald suggested that a great mind is able to hold two seemingly inconsistent ideas simultaneously without losing one's perspective.
So enough with this.
Be able to recognize the fact that there is Israel the state, Israel the government, Israeli citizens who themselves could be very well.
Arab and Muslim and Baha 'i and Catholic and Coptic and name it.
Understand the plight of the Palestinian citizen who never signed off on Hamas.
Never signed off on it.
You might say, well, you were responsible for voting them in.
Really?
You want to blame me for Biden?
Do you understand how this thing works?
We're losing our mind.
We're losing our mind.
And this anti-Semitism, and this is, there are some folks who are anti-Israel, I dig it, but there are now people who are, this anti-Israeli sentiment is bleeding over into a hatred for Jews, Judaism, people of a religious faith.
Does this not scare the living shit out of you?
If it doesn't...
If it doesn't, if you think, well, this is just a natural reaction, then you are the most dangerous citizen because, as Santayana said, you're not learning from history and apparently you're going to be forced or sentenced to repeat it.
I'm going to be talking about this again.
But I ask you, very simply, for the love of God, Calm down and understand where we're going here.
We're losing our minds.
And this has to stop.
The bloodshed has to stop.
This is barbaric.
Stop it.
You want to call it a ceasefire?
You want to call it a ceasing?
You want to call it withdrawal?
I don't give a damn what you call it.
But it's not going to be handled.
By Joe Biden or Blinken.
It's going to take a third party.
