It's always a good idea, I think, to start off with not a disclaimer, but as a frame of reference, which gives the consumer of the opinion and the analysis a kind of a basis to act upon.
I am of the opinion.
That there are indeed people and have always been people since the beginning of time who despite the genital and genitourinary and pudendal and phallic accoutrement that they may have been born with,
there is something different that allows them to say, you know, I may be technically male or female, but I don't relate to that.
I get it.
I've always understood that.
I think it was a rarity, but it was there.
It was there, certainly.
There are people who constantly find themselves ideologically, philosophically, whether it's in music, where people say, you know, I'm not really sure.
Why should gender and the expression of gender be any different?
Just because you were born with a certain list of equipment does not mean that you will necessarily comport with that.
And I don't believe, by the way, it makes you crazy or you're demented.
I don't think it's a mental illness or anything like that.
Nothing.
No, they never have.
Never.
And there are gradations of it.
There are people who I know.
I know so many gay people.
My wife included.
She's been in the theater world and music for her whole life.
It means nothing to us.
There are men in particular who have taken on basically sometimes wearing women's clothes.
I mean, looking just dressed like a woman, but they identify as a man.
They don't want any kind of reassignment.
They're saying, oh, no, no, no, I'm a man.
This is who I am.
But I either reference this, I appreciate this, whatever it is, it's fascinating.
Same thing for women.
There was a period where burlesque shows were incredibly interesting in New York.
We went to STEM as part of a media tour and met a lot of people.
No big deal.
No big deal.
But the difference is children.
Why?
As this graphic, as this thumbnail indicates, why?
Why?
Why?
Why now?
Why?
Why the acceleration?
We'll talk about that.

You know, all of a sudden, the other day, somebody said, hey, this chat GPT just came out of nowhere.
I said, that's interesting.
And all of a sudden, AI, artificial intelligence and AGI, that's the one you got to worry about.
Not AI.
AI is for kids.
Artificial general intelligence, that's the one we'll get.
We'll talk about that later.
But don't confuse the two.
Somewhere along the line, somebody said, we are going to accelerate this movement.
As it pertains to children.
And we're going to speed through this.
We are going to push for puberty blockers to reassignment surgery, children, transgender health.
And I wanted to tell you a story about something I heard.
I was at a symposium of sorts.
And there was a teacher, well, actually, we heard someone who spoke who'd had gender surgery as an adult, and then later on was explaining the problems that are attendant there, too.
But in any event, there was a story about a teacher.
And a teacher had a child in his class who had diabetes and would sometimes have to use the restroom.
This little girl, I believe, had to use the restroom.
So what he did was, he says, I'm going to take care of this.
So that these kids don't think this little girl all of a sudden is being opprobrious or rude and just getting up and just marching out the door.
I'll explain this to them and I'll do the best job.
He says, now class, little Megan may get up and leave sometimes and go to, just leave.
Well, she's going to the ladies room, the girls room, whatever you want to call it.
Because she has something called diabetes.
And it's not a lethal disease, no reason to worry, but sometimes she has to go to the bathroom.
So we told her, whenever you have to go, just go.
You don't have to ask.
Just go and come back.
So that's why you might see little Megan Lee.
That's all.
Because she has diabetes.
Okay?
He thought, I'm going to get an award for being the best teacher there is.
I did such a great job.
I nailed it!
He explained it, defused and redirected any fears he might have.
I'm the best teacher in the world.
Well, not so fast.
The next day, the principal calls and says, what did you tell these kids yesterday?
And he said, what are you talking about?
He says, I got 10 parents calling me, screaming because you told their kids they've got diabetes and now the kids won't come to school because they're diabetic.
And he said, I didn't say that.
Well, that's what they heard.
So here's the point.
How do you take kids who don't even know their favorite color?
How do you know kids who don't know very deep and critical issues, who don't understand nuance and perspective?
How do you do this?
How do you explain gender?
But not only that...
Feelings that you have now when you don't know your favorite color, when you might think you're, I don't know, a superhero, or you might be, for a variety of reasons, rather intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, or psychologically tenuous about a host of things.
And you have teachers and counselors who, upon hearing the slightest question as to gender, might immediately push them for this next step.
Puberty blocking surgery and finding out, do your parents understand you?
Because that's what they're going to do next.
Do your parents understand you?
Do they?
Do they understand you?
Because if they don't, let us know.
Because they have to understand you.
They have to listen to you.
This may be grounds for some type of court or CPS, Child Protective Services intervention, if they don't understand you.
And the ball is running.
Kids especially don't understand nuances.
I've got to tell you another story.
One of my favorites.
Just to show you how kids misunderstand and why it's very dangerous for you to be talking about.
Gender and gender assignment and reassignment and the like.
Little kid asks his father.
Father's a very good man, smart man, very progressive, very open-minded.
He says, Daddy, why do my teachers have...
No, why are my teachers different colors?
So he sat down and he said, Well, let me explain this to you.
Have a seat, little Morgan.
You see, The world, as you know, 23-whatever-degree angle, the world is affected by the sun more, and countries at or near the equator tend to be perhaps darker-complected citizens because of the fact that they're propinquity to the sun.
The angle in melanin is an adaptive behavior.
It's a Darwinian adaptation.
Selective.
And he was talking about melanin.
That's why the darkness is sometimes in Iceland.
You see blue eyes, more whiter skin, less sunlight.
And his daughters look at him like, what the hell are you talking about?
So finally he asked a question that he should have asked right away.
He said, why do you ask?
And she said, because my teachers.
You know, the colors.
Mr. Brown, Mrs. Green, Mr. White.
Sounds like a routine, but he swears it's a true story.
This is why kids don't understand nuance, subtlety.
What may be of interest today may pass.
May not be worth following up on.
Always, of course, invite yourself.
To be asked any question regarding any subject.
But if we precipitate, if we are too celeritous, if we move too quickly to try to get to the bottom of this, to find out immediately what this is all about, if we get to that point, the question then becomes, what if we make a mistake?
And you can't go back on a mastectomy, a hysterectomy, a panectomy, an orchiectomy, castration, genital mutilation, incontinence, people report, no children, infertility, sterility, whatever.
I mean, all because somebody might have said, might have uttered a desire to maybe think about, oh, no, no, no, no.
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my dear friends, what adults do is one thing, God bless them, you have my blessing, whatever that means.
But kids?
Oh, no, no.
No, no, no, no, no.
Now, does that mean that this surgery should never be able to take place?
Of course not!
But it's becoming faddish.
It's becoming too much of a cultural constant, and it scares me.
And when you have people who just love to precipitate and accelerate this very serious ultimate surgery, the problems that ensue, the problems that are attendant can prove to be catastrophic.
Thank you, my friend.
I thank you.
