I am not a mental health...
Professional.
I have a BA in psychology which means nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
But I am seeing in people a feeling of anhedonia, inertia, a feeling of complete and total loss, this feeling of I don't know where to go when it comes to the world of Politics.
Politics.
Global issues.
Foreign policy.
What is happening here?
You've heard of TDS, Trump derangement syndrome.
And it goes both ways, by the way.
What I mean by this is there are people who have this overwhelming sense of this deranged, deranged Trump hatred.
Absolute.
Hatred.
But then, which is interesting, but then we see something interesting as well.
We see this odd thing.
And this is people who show this inordinate love of Trump to the point where it's almost like some deistic, I don't know what the word is, not deistic, that he's a deity.
There's almost this fanaticism.
I don't understand that either.
And I think that qualifies as a form of Trump derangement syndrome as well.
It's horrible because you don't know where to go because there is no such thing as a clear-cut issue.
Where do I...
What do I believe in?
What, left, right?
What does that even mean?
You've got Bobby Kennedy Jr., who sounds more...
Like a center-right, in some cases like what used to be Fox News before they went completely ESG, but anyway, or DEI or whatever you want to call them now.
You've got Bobby Kennedy Jr. doing this.
Wait a minute.
What?
What?
You've got, this is the most interesting, you've got people now who are for the first time espousing in some cases what is nothing more than just Common sense being called, being likened to, being referred to as right-wing.
You have great and proud and wonderful friends of mine from the left, from the democratic world, who for years had a moderate, kind of a common sense approach to rational thought, rational politics, rational polity and policy.
And comity, that's not comedy.
And now they're wondering, I don't know where I go.
I don't understand what's going on here.
I don't understand.
There is a world right now, there is a world of various activism, whether it's MLB, Major League Baseball, Disney, or Target, or Anheuser-Busch, and people are saying, wait a minute, I don't understand what's going on here.
I thought I was a progressive.
I thought I was a liberal.
I thought I believed in kind of a common sense inclusion.
I don't feel necessarily a part of this.
There are people on the right who for years thought, who believed in a prototypical, archetypical, archetypal, Ronald Reagan, Barry Goldwater, kind of a fundamentalist, free market, You know, low tax, personal freedom, belief, they feel abandoned.
You have now some left proponents, those who are prototypically democratic, who are looking and saying, who are these left proponents, these individuals, calling for war?
The hawkish war profiteering, even that doesn't make any sense.
And what happens?
When you lose control, when you lose the ability to detect control, when you lose the locus, the place, the situs of control, you get depressed!
I'm dead serious!
And you see it not just in kids, and in adolescents, and people in schools, but you see it in adults, and they don't know what to do because none of this makes any sense anymore.
And when you see this, You get, as a result, depression.
And the depression is the part which is very, very frightening, very, very disconcerting, very, very...
Well, it goes without saying.
And this is after post-COVID.
COVID put the world through such stress by being disconnected, disjointed, untethered, uninvolved, un...
Unstructured.
From remote learning and remote viewing and remote school and remote employment and being away and six foot distance and a sense of isolation.
Throw that into the mix.
And then all of a sudden they say, okay, that's it.
It's over.
That's why we still see people driving around, driving around in cars by themselves wearing a mask.
I will never understand this as long as I live.
But it goes to show you what is happening to people.
And it goes to show you.
You're seeing rates of...
Well, I don't want to use...
You've got to be very, very careful.
You've got to be...
Let's just say that very, very...
Very, very troubling rates of severe depression.
I'll just leave it at that.
And we also have people today who, by virtue of using recreational drugs and the like, more and more parents are indicating and reporting cases of schizoaffective schizoid behaviors via these weird hyper-emetic responses.
To high THC amount of cannabinoids and cannabis.
I mean, throw this into this huge stew pot, this slumgolion, this gumbo, this admixture of everything, and you've got a level of detached discoalescence, the likes of which I've never seen.
And it comes down primarily also to political depression.
And it's understandable.
And that's why my suggestion, listen to me, stay here, try to explain incrementally what these problems are, what these issues are, what is actually happening.
Look at them and try to understand how they fit in.
And together we're going to make this thing work.
Together we're going to pull you through this.
Because nobody really wants to say anymore.
I mean, certain things you can...
You can say, you know, I'm feeling anxious.
You may have a service.
I've seen more.
I've seen more service dogs and cats and pets and utility critters.
Some of them I don't think are necessarily authentic.
I think sometimes people want to bring their dog.
But who am I?
A mind reader?
I don't know.
These are perilous times.
They're very sensitive times.
And we can get through it.
But listen to what I'm saying.
We'll take it one step at a time.
One step, one day at a time, one issue at a time.
Alright?
Okay.
