A white UC Berkeley student was shot in the back of the head, murdered in cold blood.
And what does the school want you to think about during this terrible time for their community?
George Floyd and Black Lives Matter.
News broke this month about a UC Berkeley student being shot in the middle of the street in Berkeley.
This article says the young man found on Dwight Way late Monday night with a fatal gunshot wound to the head has been identified as a 19-year-old student who was set to begin his third year at UC Berkeley.
And the article goes on to say he was found Monday night.
This was written on June 17th with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
And his mother, you know, was saying that he was such a good student.
He was very smart.
He was very bright.
Everybody loved being around him.
The cops don't know the motive yet.
They're still investigating.
That hasn't come out about why this may have happened.
But it's pretty freaking terrible, right?
This is pretty terrible, especially to the UC Berkeley community.
He was a student there, and unfortunately, the chancellor at the school really doesn't seem to think that this is what people should mainly be focusing about.
The school's chancellor then put out a statement, and I want you guys to let me know in the comments below what you think about this statement.
Was it appropriate?
Was it insensitive?
Was it just downright disgusting?
Or was it appropriate?
Was it fine?
Let me know your thoughts.
I'll let you know mine after I read it.
But here we go.
We realize this is a difficult time for those of you who knew Seth.
It is important to know that individuals may express their grief differently, and we need to respect the different ways people react and support each other in the days and weeks ahead.
Many of you may have had a close relationship with Seth and are feeling a sense of loss and disbelief.
Now, this is where the issue starts with me.
Others, like many of us, are experiencing stress, grief, and anxiety related to the virus pandemic and the recent murders of George Floyd, Reha Milton, and other black Americans.
I don't know about you guys, but uh personally, if I were the mother of this 19-year-old student, and this is what their school puts out regarding their death, their murder, I would be so freaking enraged.
This has nothing to do with Black Lives Matter.
And the Black Lives Matter community keeps saying we want more attention, we need this, we need this from you.
Everybody pander to us.
We have gone so far down this rabbit hole of pandering to Black Lives Matter that when a white student gets murdered, a school has to make sure they make it about Black Lives Matter.
Do not tell me that you are oppressed in this country if you are black when a white student can't even have their own little paragraph from a chancellor specifically about them.
As you guys probably know, I am being very mild about my opinions and my outrage about this.

George Floyd, as many of you know, didn't go to this school.
He has nothing to do with this situation.
And how dare the school chancellor sit there and say, Yes, I know it's sad what happened, and yes, you may be sad.
But I and the rest of the school, we're already upset about Black Lives Matter and the pandemic.
So, you know, we're just gonna have to you deal with that.
We will focus on what we think is important, and it's not our own student.
Now let's compare this with the same Chancellor's response to George Floyd's death and the Black Lives Matter protest.
You won't be shocked with what I'm about to read you.
I have been profoundly affected by what recent events have revealed about the state of race relations in our country and the indisputable evidence of those events provide of police brutality.
I hear the pain, anger, exhaustion, and calls for accountability that members of Our community have shared with me in the many letters that I have received and the many conversations I have had in recent weeks.
So she is personally affected by someone hundreds of miles away, and whatever, you can be affected by that, but not any personal response and grief from her.
No personal accounts of being affected by grief and whatever from a student of hers at the school she helps administrate.
That's dirty.
That is dirty.
That is vile.
And I think it is so irresponsible and inappropriate.
She could have just made statements about Seth, talking about how much it hurts her as someone who is an administrator to Seth and his friends that go to that school and people like him, but instead she had to pander, fit in a little bit of Black Lives Matter in there, probably to appease everybody who say, Oh, you're freaking out about this white student.
What about all the black students that are dying every day?
What about all the black people that are dying every day?
Now I'm willing to bet everything on my life that if this student were a black student, her response would be a lot more heartfelt, a lot different, a lot longer, and a lot more importance would be given to the individual, Seth.
Seth couldn't even have a whole paragraph dedicated to him because someone who has been in the news for over a month now, a whole movement, Black Lives Matter, that has been in the news for over a month now, they've had their limelight, and they still manage to overshadow the murder of a white student because we all know uh outrage probably would have ensued if they weren't given any type of spotlight uh to counteract the death of a white person.
