So I did something really crazy this last week, and you guys are not gonna believe it.
I went outside.
I think I'm gonna have to run in the woods since I've got all this New York stuff on.
I think I'm gonna have to run in the woods.
To be more specific, I went all the way to Florida right after the stay-at-home order was lifted and wanted to share my experience with you guys.
From having to go through a police checkpoint at the Florida, Georgia line to eating at restaurants one day after they opened to watching police go store to store to make sure they were complying with the governor's orders.
It was a pretty surreal trip.
And if you guys have been subscribed to the channel for a while now, you'll know that I love interviewing people in downtown St. Augustine.
What you call self-defense, more people get killed with their own AR-15 than get Oh, it is more people get killed with.
Where statistic do you go?
Good and got my sons of cop in.
It's like pretty easy.
The oldest city in the United States, St. Augustine is always completely packed, no matter what time of the year you go.
And that's why we've gotten some of our best interviews down there.
But here's what the city looked like this week: a complete ghost town.
I can't even keep count of how many times I've been to Florida in my life.
And I never thought in a million years I'd see my favorite city completely empty.
I wanted to tell you more of the crazy things that happened during my trip and just how insane things are truly getting in this country.

So after spending pretty much the last two months inside, my family and I took a little trip down to Florida this last week.
And to avoid unnecessary contact at the airport, we drove 14 long hours down the east coast to get there.
Every time we stopped along the way, almost everybody had masks on, even at fast food restaurants.
Well, at least they tried to put them on.
But the reality of just how crazy things are really started to set in when we got to the Florida border, and they had a police checkpoint to make sure New Yorkers weren't getting into the state.
And of course, as usual, Justin was decked out in nothing but New York Mets attire.
So I felt like he was gonna have to run for his life.
I think I'm gonna have to run in the woods since I've got all this New York stuff on.
Here's what the checkpoint looked like.
If it pleases the crown.
If you get ran over to the back lot, you're in trouble.
Just stick it right in the window.
Oh nothing.
What?
We got nothing out of that.
Then when we finally got to the state, even though the stay-at-home order was lifted and restaurants and retail stores could open at 25% capacity, most didn't.
I think that's the most telling thing about our trip, and perhaps a good indicator of what's to come for our country.
We've seen numerous rallies across the country to end the shutdowns to get people back to work.
But that can only happen if companies decide to open up.
And in Florida, even though they can, it seems like most haven't.
Let me show you what downtown St. Augustine looked like.
As empty as a Joe Biden rally.
Anyone who's been to St. Augustine knows that this place is always packed with tons of people.
This one lady literally begged us to come into her store Because we were some of the only ones there in the city.
And after we got out of the store, we noticed a police officer walking around with a notepad, going store to store, presumably to make sure nothing was open that shouldn't be.
A small part of me wanted to go interview him to see what he was up to, but I didn't want to be rude.
See, Caitlin Bennett isn't so bad after all.
Although the officer would be hard pressed to find anyone not complying with the orders.
Even the statues in town were considerate of people's health.
Some stores were actually running exclusive sales because of everything going on.
And if you look closely in the reflection, you'll see this guy has a mask on.
Let's give him a gold star.
Since pretty much every store on St. George Street could be open, but most have chosen not to yet.
One restaurant had a sign on their window that said, not opened yet.
But they did have a second sign that says they'll be open next week.
But I want to tell you guys about my experience at restaurants that were open.
Since Florida is probably one of the first states in the country to let them open back up.
Thankfully, my favorite restaurant, Alice Pizza, was open.
And right at the front door, we were greeted by a social distancing sign that encouraged customers to keep a distance of six feet between people.
In fact, there were a ton of social distancing signs by the cash register, and every single employee was wearing a face mask.
We were able to eat outside and enjoyed a nice view of the empty St. Augustine streets.
Another restaurant we ate at was an even stranger experience, however, since I had more customers.
Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill was probably the most popular restaurant in town while we were there because it was one of the only few restaurants that were open, and it had tons of outdoor seating.
Right at the front of the restaurant, they had a big sign that read, for the safety of our staff and guests, please be advised that social distancing is required while dining at Harry's.
Do not enter if you are positive for the C word or experiencing fever, cough, or shortness of breath.
We appreciate your understanding.
All the tables available for seating were very well spread apart, and there was a bottle of hand sanitizer on every single table.
They served us with plastic utensils and paper cups, and even threw away the menus after we ordered so that no one had to touch the same menu as someone else.
All the workers had on masks, and our server said they were thrilled to be back at work finally.
This restaurant is so popular right now that there was actually a long line to be seated later that night, which you can see behind me in this selfie.
But other than that, this town was just completely empty.
And even though virtually everything in the city could be open right now, most still haven't.
There was surprisingly no one else sailing and no one out by the water.
No one on the fort either.
Here's Justin walking down an empty street, probably while on Twitter, and there was at least one pesky resident roaming the city without a mask.
We weren't in Florida very long, but it was certainly a very strange and different experience.
And I think a glimpse into what the rest of the country may go through as things start to open back up.
Luckily, we're about to enter into the summer months, which will make it easier for restaurants with outdoor seating to open up like Harry's and Al's Pizza.
So I'm excited to see the country start getting back on its feet.
Hopefully things can return to normal soon because I know you guys are hoping to go to some Trump rallies just as badly as I want to.
and I know that once they kick off again they're going to be huge.
I have a cough.
I tickled my throat.
All right.
Oh.
