All the front runners for the Democratic Party are white people.
Does it bother you guys?
Yes.
Does that bother you?
Yes.
It's disappointing.
Um I I hope that at the very least we can be good allies.
Does that bother you?
Does it concern you?
Um, yeah, I guess.
Yeah.
I would like to see some representation.
It would be preferable not to have them all be white.
So I don't know if you guys have noticed, but all of the Democratic front runners are white.
We're here at the women's march in Washington DC on MLK weekend to see if these women will judge people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up, live out the true meaning of its dreams.
So the Democratic front runners are all white.
How does that make you feel?
Um not very well, but I I like that they're women, but I would like to see more women of color in there.
I mean it's difficult, especially because things are younger generation.
So when you're younger and you're looking into office or anything in general, if you don't see people that look like you, it's gonna be difficult to want to go on ahead and feel as though you can do the same exact thing.
So then it goes back to eco-representation.
What do you guys think about how all the democratic front runners are white?
Does that bother you?
Does it concern you?
Um, yeah, I guess.
Yeah, yeah.
I would like to see some representation.
Yeah.
So how do you guys feel that all the frontrunners of the Democrats are white?
Well, it is a challenge.
Let's hope we can get a woman in office.
This will it be okay if it's just a white woman?
Well, that's what those are the choices we have at the moment.
Okay.
Are you disappointed with the choices that they're all white?
Um, I am kind of disappointed, but I see you know a couple of women.
Couple of women in there, so that's uh that's I'm satisfied with that.
All the front runners for the Democrats are white.
Correct.
Do you think that's okay?
I wish it wasn't that way.
I wish there were more choices.
I feel sorry that it seems to come down to money and raising money in order to remain a con a candidate and to stay on the um what do you call it where they the debate circuit?
You know, when Kamala Harris had to step down and it's all because of money that made me feel sad.
Like I feel like that should be changed.
Okay.
And real quick guys, don't forget, go to patreon.com slash Caitlin Bennett to support my work.
Keep me coming out here and exposing these radical leftists.
The front runners for the Democratic Party are all white.
What do you think about that?
Well, I mean of course you want more diversity in anything that you do.
Um so it would be preferable not to have them all be white.
But that's kind of where we find ourselves.
Unfortunately.
Unfortunately.
Yeah.
Because like it's wrong to like judge someone based on the color of their skin, right?
It is wrong to judge someone based on the color of their skin for sure.
Um and so I have this like I truly believe that we need more diversity, but I also think we need to have more inclusion, and I think until we can bring that inclusion in, um, it's really hard to have it be more diverse.
The front runners of the Democratic Party, they're all white.
Does that bother you?
Yes.
Why?
Because I think we need more diverse voices being heard and I think that white people have done just a bang up job of screwing stuff up.
And maybe we should hear more.
They gave you the right to vote.
They did.
I like your science.
Thank you.
What's that what's that mean?
Like what when we look at it, when we read it, what does it mean to you?
Um people should stop appropriating appropriating black culture.
Okay.
Um, especially without credit.
Um, I feel like as black women we set a lot of trends, whether it's politically, socially, fashionably, and other cultures, specifically white women tend to copy it and say, oh, there's like a trend on TikTok now, like give it back, may I have it back, and it was never theirs to begin with.
Um so just acknowledging the origins of most of pop culture, essentially.
All the front runners for the Democratic Party are white people.
Does it bother you guys?
Yes, and unfortunately it's expected for Me.
Um especially after Kamala dropped out.
I kind of just figured that it was just downhill from there to be honest.
I don't even know who to vote for.
Because all of them are white.
No, just because I'm not sure.
I mean the last debate didn't do enough for me.
I will say that out of all of them I'm a Warren fan, but um I'm still not sure.
And I know it's a huge problem at the first states to vote in the primaries are the ones that are predominantly white, so it's not necessarily um representative of a lot of the stuff that we want to see in the White House.
Also most of their political teams are white, so there isn't even representation there of the organizers and the people out on the field doing half the job for the candidates themselves.
Do you think it's wrong to judge people and their ability to do things on the color of their skin though?
No, no, absolutely not.
So I think that gets lost a lot in I'm shocked because if I like you think it's okay to judge people based on the color of their skin?
No.
That was my question.
Okay.
Okay, that was my question.
It's not a sign because I've heard this argument before that um we should only vote for people in office based on the color of their skin.
Yes, that is what I disagree with.
Okay.
Does it bother you guys?
Yes.
I noticed your sign says respect women of color.
What do you think about the fact that all the democratic front runners are white?
It's disappointing.
Um I I hope that at the very least we can be good allies.
I think maybe the system is not doing right if we are not hearing the voices of so many democratic constituents.
Um that whether it's the mechanism by how you get on the debates, the money or the engagement or whatever, we're obviously missing something.
Um so at the very least I hope that the remaining candidates um do more than pay lip service to the commitment to our communities of color.
So if I were disappointed to say at an all black Congress one day, if I said that's disappointing that they're all black.
Would that be I guess it depends on where you're coming from.
If you felt like there was a perspective that was gonna be missed because of this, um, then perhaps not.
I think that we're not really at risk for traditional white perspectives not being heard.
Um so they like that's a different different angle.
So when we look at the democratic front runners, they're all white.
They're all white.
Yeah.
Is that bothersome to you?
No.
I mean, like it it is what it is because it did start off a lot more colorful, multicultural, a lot more, you know, and then just the restrictions on what you have to do to get to the caucuses and to the debates just limited those that didn't have the funds really.
Yeah, yeah.
So I've talked to a lot of people here today that said it does bother them because it's white voices.
There's not enough diversity.
I I get that.
I get that.
I totally get that.
I'm I'm a half Latino, so I totally get that.
But at the same time, it's I think we can't be catty about it.
We can't be uh I want to make sure he wasn't needing to get through.
I think I think we just we can't um we can't be fighting about that.
Like I feel like we just this is time to unite.
So yes, they're all white right now, but like there's a more there's a bigger fish to fry.
Yeah, and so I don't think we can get caught up on that.
I do think it's something that should be addressed and is important.
Yeah, but I don't think we should like you know d divide.
It's not because we won't conquer if we're not.
