She wants to use an executive action if she were to get into the presidency to ban AR-15s in this country.
Is that something you guys would back her for doing?
A hundred percent.

Why would you guys support that?
Um, I just think that there's not really a need for an assault weapon like that.
If elected president, Kamala Harris has vowed to ban AR-15s in our country with the use of an executive order.
Let's see if the people at Edgewater Beach today think that that's acceptable.
Edgewater Beach Kamala Harris is running for president and she wants to use an executive action or an executive order to implement gun control in this country.
Do you think it's appropriate if she were to use an executive order to ban AR-15s all across the United States?
All across the United States.

Because I I believe Americans, there's gun rights.
They deserve to have their guns, right?
Would you guys support banning AR-15 rifles?
Absolutely not.

I think so.
I just like the idea of it coming through a process of checks and balances as opposed to maybe an executive order.

Yeah, I don't think that there's really a need for it for everyday people.
You said handguns are okay, but AR-15s are not.
Yeah, I mean, just like I mean, there's bans on all types of stuff.
You can't have bombs, you can't have all types of things.
Weapons of mass destruction.
I mean, I that's what I would consider one of those guns for sure.
So an AR-15 is a weapon of mass destruction.
What do you base that?

I mean just the fact that it can kill, you know, a large amount of people quickly.

I mean, unless you're in the military, I mean you can have access to it, but other than that, why does a regular everyday person need one?

She would like to ban AR-15s with the use of an executive action if Congress didn't pass any type of gun control to do so within the first 100 days of her taking office.
Is that something you would support?
Yeah, absolutely.
I'd support that.
Why?
Uh because those are weapons of war and unless we're over trying to overthrow our government, we don't need them.
So which branch of the military uses AR-15s?
I didn't say that the branch of the military used AR-15s, I said they were weapons of war.
What war did we use them in?
Again, they're just weapons of war.
What are AR-AR-15s?
Are those property?
My couch is my property, but my couch can't kill anyone.
Oh yes, it can.
A baby drowns in the couches that would think like couch drowning.
AR-15s do shoot more powerful and they shoot more than I have good wheel at one time.
So I mean if you were to just to shoot an AR like that across across here, you'll kill a lot of people.
But we just put an automatic handgun.
You've got to pick your spots.

I think we need stricter gun laws anyway.
Um be that handguns, whatever.
So I would definitely need to look more into the AR-15 and see exactly what it does, what it's about.
But I think in general, um, there needs to be a little bit more restrictions when it comes to purchasing weapons.
Would you guys support that?

No, because Americans right.
It's constitutional right to bear arms.
I mean, because just because it fires more rounds at a higher rate than you know, it's in the handgun, it's not the gun that's doing the damage, it's the person behind the gun.
What if I told you that it actually fires the exact same rate as a handgun?
So it's not any different than a handgun.
Well, it's only the right to bear arms.
They didn't give a definition of what type of arms we can bear.
So sit there and dictate to us what type of arms that we should have to bear or not.
It's totally against the Constitution, period.

As absolutely, you guys are probably the most forthcoming about saying like, heck no, that's not okay.
Why do you think these politicians are so hellbent on banning the AR-15?
Because they just want votes.
They're gonna sit there and get the votes of who don't agree with guns to who who does agree with guns, and to me that's just not how you voice your opinion politically.
Cars kill more people than rifles, knives kill more people than rifles, blunt objects kill more people than rifles.
So why are we focused on the rifles and not all of these other things?
Poles kill more children, like swimming pools are the cause drowning for children in this country more than rifles.

Lake Erie, you're done.
We're banning you.
Every year, more more people are killed by knives than they are by rifles, by blunt objects than they are by rifles, cars than they are by rifles, drowning in a swimming pool than they are by rifles, handguns than they are by rifles.
So right are rifles what we should be focused on?
Well, no, because that's just one person.
I mean if somebody is, you know, the way you hear about you know, AR-15s, if there's shoot up a school or something like that, if they have a knife, they're not gonna be able to do as much as they can with something like that.
I mean, a knife, yeah, maybe it kills the most people like you said, but that's just you know single altercations.
I support the second amendment when it comes to anything abuses a weapon, terrorists use vehicles as weapons, terrorists hijack vehicles, run the men and whoever they proclaim their peace to.
I mean, that's a anybody, it's the person.
The guns don't kill people, people kill people.
If we were over if America, which is unlikely because we have the world's best military because of leadership, other countries don't have the kind of leadership.
Why ask them?
If we do not have this leadership and we don't have these weapons and we don't have a country was overtaken, we have to have a militia.
Banning AR-15s in general, do you support that?
Uh no, I don't.
Why not?
Um, because we've already I mean there's already I guess it depends on the age of individual that's using the gun.
Not everybody is gonna use it for violence.
So she wants to do a whole sweep, no more, they can't come into the country, nobody can buy them, no one can even have them anymore.
I don't think that's gonna face the problem because they're gonna find a way to get around it.
Especially, that's a good point, especially when handguns account for most deaths and firearm related.
Yeah, so it's still gonna be a problem there.
That's not gonna face the problem.
Would you support banning any type of weapon at all?
Yes and no.
Uh for real, like um, I take I'd stand on both sides.
Like sometimes they could be banned because they could get into the wrong hands.
And sometimes they're necessary, so no, I would not support the ban of any arms.
No.
But I don't think the everyday person needs that type of weapon.
Okay.
So what does an AR-15 do?
How does it function that would make it an assault weapon?
That I don't know.
Um, I don't know how many like what it can produce, you know, a minute, like how many bullets it can shoot.
Um, I do know that people can modify them.
That's that's all I know about it.
Okay.
So the definition of an assault weapon um or an assault rifle from the government is a rifle that can switch from semi-automatic to fully automatic and can release the whole mag in one pull of the trigger.
An AR-15 does not do that.
So it is not an assault weapon, it's not an assault rifle, it fires the same rate as a handgun, actually.
Do you think that AR-15s are the most commonly used weapon in mass shootings?
No, I don't I don't think that really matters.
Okay.
I mean, it's just when they're used, they're I mean, when you hear about them being used, they're used to kill a lot of people, you know what I'm saying?
Within the first 100 days of her service to our country as president, she wants to implement gun control, specifically AR-15 ban with the use of an executive action.

No.
Why not?

I'd have to tell you I'm conservative.
Uh-oh.
That's a problem.
That's a dangerous word in today's world.
I would support um regulating guns in a safe way, but not taking them out completely.
That's a wrong move.
I don't think that we need them, but I also have a ton of ex-military friends and family who love them.
So they have I my I know my aunt's got one.
She's allowed to have it.
30 something acres, nobody cares.
But out here, I think it might be a little too much.
But I don't think I think it's a really bad idea to try and take Americans' guns away and expect to get enough votes to win.
Why do you think she would want to ban specifically an AR-15 when handguns are the cause for most homicides that are gun related in this country?
I wanna know because you would not go see too many people with an AR-15 doing murders at all.
So I don't I don't really now I really don't even feel like it's a good option because that's not really what's killing people.
Why do you think these politicians are so hell-bent on specifically talking about the AR-15?
Uh they don't got nothing else.
Yeah, they really are not nothing else.
There's more important stuff out here more important stuff.
What do you think would fix the problem?
That I don't know the answer to.
I really don't know.
What if we took away all the gun laws in the country?
No more gun laws, no more gun control at all.
Do you think that would help solve the problem?
Um, I don't know.
I really don't know.
I think it would.
