	His war and his action, his politics, is based on some combination of metaphysics, eschatology, and politics, as in the ancient biblical times.
	So for him, the war he leads for Netanyahu, it is Yehovah war, the war of God.

	So that provokes huge criticism from the other part of Judaism, but that explains what Zionism is.

	And, you know, it's interesting to see that in the United States, you have a strong Christian Zionist movement.
	But if you look at Orthodox Christian countries like Russia, like Serbia, like other members of the Orthodox world, there isn't really a Christian Zionist movement to speak of.
	So I wanted to ask you, you know, you're an Orthodox Christian.
	Do we Christians have a religious obligation to support Bibi Netanyahu in the modern state of Israel?
	No, I think that is out of question for all kinds of normal Christianity.
	Orthodox Church has no such idea at all.
	More than less, I think that the generally relation to Judaism is rather very negative in Orthodox Christianity because there is the idea that there was a change, important change in the status of the chosen people after Christ.
	Jesus Christ was promised to Jews who were the chosen people, the real chosen people.
	So Jews were chosen.
	And as the final conclusion of their chooseness was the arrival among them of Savior and Son of God, Jesus Christ.
	After that, chosen people was transformed in the Christian church, based by Jews.
	Apostles.
	But this church was open to the other people.
	And from the people was invited to become chosen people.
	And after that, no more.
	No more chooseness of Israel.
	And more than that, those Jews who didn't accept Christ, they became damned and not chosen.
	So that was the totally, totally opposite.
	So pre-Christian Jews was saint people, the chosen people.
	After those Jews who didn't accept Christ were damned.
	So that is normal Christian attitude that was dominant one.
	That is still dominant in Christian Orthodoxy, Orthodox Church, that is still dominant in Catholicism, in spite of all declaration of political rightness.
	And the American Pope that they have.

	But at the same time, that is the majority, majority of Protestants as well.
	But there was some special sect starting from the 17th century that started to promote British Israelism.
	The idea was that there will be new Messiah, the first Messiah, Christ, had, according to them, some limitations, and there will be new Messiah that will appear among Jews.
	And British people, Anglo-Saxons, are 10 tribes, lost tribes of Israel, and they should link with Jews in order to meet this promised Jewish Messiah.
	And the part of them, they followed, being Christian, being evangelicals, they followed wrong pseudo-Messiah Sabbatai Tsevi that has appeared in Turkey and after that converted in the Islam.
	Sabbatai Tzvi.
	The very, very interesting idea.
	And he was the first Zionist because it was prohibited to Jews to return to Zionism, but Sabbatai Tsevi declared himself Messiah and invited the Jews to return to Israel.

	And this sect among the radical Protestants in Britain, England, in England, they have immigrated in the United States and they started to promote their sectarian vision of this Jewish Messiah.

	And Julian's point is, okay, all of you have rebelled against your native or indigenous traditions.
	That's point number one.
	And then you went over to the Jewish tradition, basically.
	You adopted or appropriated the Jewish scriptures, but then you did something really weird with that, too.
	You don't follow the actual Jewish law because none of you people sacrifice.
	None of you people circumcise for religious reasons.
	None of you people actually obey the Sabbath, at least the vast majority of you.
	And none of you do things like the Jewish holidays or anything like that.
	So there's a double apostasy.
	So you have apostasized from your native tradition.
	You have claimed the Jewish tradition and then you have apostasized from the Jewish tradition.
	And so what is Christianity for Julian?
	Julian says Christianity is the product of the double apostasy.
	And he uses pretty strong language here.
	He says, Christianity is like a leech that it gets attached to the body and it sucks out the worst blood.
	And it then produces, you know, whatever leeches produce, basically.
	So it's the worst possible form of appropriation and assimilation.
	And to give one example of this, so Julian, as a Neoplatonist, thinks that, you know, he makes a distinction between God and the Logos, that is the lower creator.
	And so there's a high God and then there's a lower creator who creates our world of matter.
	And he looks over to the Gospel of John and he says, this model of understanding how we got here is basically stolen by the author of the Gospel of John.
	And you, very sneakily, he says, you make the Logos into Jesus.
	You know, actually, it's not crystal clear when you read John's prologue that the Logos is Jesus.
	But despite that fact, Christians have universally seen, almost universally seen Jesus as the Logos.
	And, you know, Julian's complaint is this is an obvious borrowing from Hellenic theology.
	And instead of making the Logos into a worthy God like Dionysus or Attas or Helios the son, you have chosen basically a nobody.
	A Galilean.
	A Galilean dude who's really his only claim to fame in his life was, as Julian says, he cast out some minor demons in the local towns of Betzaida and Capernaum.
	And that's his claim to fame.
	Whereas if you compare him with people like Asclepius, Asclepius is universal.
	He heals people.
	He appears to people in dreams.
	He has helped thousands for thousands of years.
	Jesus, from Julian's perspective, only appeared about 300 years prior.
	So, you know, that's something to keep in mind.
	Like with time comes tradition and veneration.
	But Jesus is extremely young in world history, and he's not really the top of the list when you're talking about actual benefactors.
