Uh so you were here in January, and then uh you took a trip to Israel and you wrote a or at least staged uh rainband in London, and you did a documentary for T VM and finished writing, just finished filming this East Texas miracle.
So let's start with the documentary and did a tour of reserve.
So TBM uh asked you to do a documentary of some things that were happening in Israel that were pretty profound.
Actually, I I came to TBN and I said I had an idea for a documentary that I think you guys are giving us.
And they and I knew some of the fellows over there, and they said, Well, what?
I said, ask you with Israel, and they said, Well, we've done a lot about Israel.
And I said, I don't think you've done this.
About female soldiers to the IDF.
But they don't do anything that you've ever seen in the headlines.
They have nothing to do with Palestinians.
One of them spends her entire military duty every night risking her life to go toward the Syrian border at that time within a kilometer or two of ISIS.
You'll see on the screen that's our crew, the producer, the other producer, myself, that's Micah Bernard.
Girl in the middle is uh names Rotem.
Uh she's 21-year-old uh conscript, and she's a medic.
She volunteered to be in the sea that at that time is a secret.
No one really knew about it.
Uh in the army we knew about it, but the public certainly did it.
We decided to begin treating Syrian refugees during the civil war.
And every night this young girl would get into her ambulance and go with a three-man crew.
Her driver was a Druze era who spoke Arabic, uh, and she had another medic with her in full combat gear, body armor, sabor assault, rifle, helmet, plus some medical gear.
She had no idea where they were going.
It was never something that she knew or wanted to know.
They knew they were near the Syrian border, they could hear gunfire.
There was a secret reconnaissance unit of the Israeli army that would reconnoiter with Syrian refugees.
They would bring Syrian wounded, and they would do triage.
She said there were some times where they had to operate under flashlights because they would live if they had to wait to get back to a hospital.
She said one time they brought in 11 wounded, and they have all they had was that one ambulance.
Well, and so she said most of the treatment had to be done in the field.
They never asked, she never asked, Who are you, what are you?
They never knew if these people were terrorists or weren't.
One guy said with her through the driver, today you're treating me, tomorrow I'm gonna find you and kill you.
And I said, Why did you treat them?
And she said, Because I'm a medic.
She said, if I have the skills to save a life, and I don't use them, then I'm a murderer.
So is this an ISIS warrior probably or she was probably ISIS?
No one ever asked.
They were just Syrian wounded.
They were up across the border, and then they put them in Israeli hostage.
Yes, yeah.
And then obviously those people they thought might be terrorists, they kept an eye on.
But um they could triage whoever could be released back that night, fine.
They had to be in the hospital, they were put in Israeli hospitals in the north of Israel, and we treated well over 2,000 uh wounded uh and saved numbers of children, and the reactions went from one guy saying, I'll kill you, to one mother of a child who is very badly wounded, just falling into arms and crying and thanking her and blessing her, and blessing her and blessing her.
And that was her entire military service.
There have been reports that Israel's been treating wounded Syrian rebel fighters in its hospitals on the border, including fighters from Nusra front, which is of course the Al-Qaeda proxy in Syria.
Um do those reports worry you that Israel's helping wounded Al-Qaeda aligned fighters.
As I said before, uh in a different context.
It's always useful also to deal with your enemies in a humane way.
And I think that when you have people who are wounded and you can deal with them in a humane way.
The considerations as to whether to take them in are not simply whether it's politically uh useful or whether it's politically.
It's purely humanitarian, you say.
So there's no tactical or political strategic.
I didn't say there's no tactical, I said the main consideration, the immediate consideration is humane.
But the tactical issues involved, I mean, you know better than me the phrase blowback.
You don't think there's gonna be blowback against Israel if you get into bed with a group like Nusra front?

Because I think that the unfortunately the rules of the game in Syria are such that you can do anything that is not able is not possible to be done anywhere else.

Would you also treat his balah fighters?

I think as far as uh uh fighters are concerned, with them we have a different uh account.
So let me be clear, you wouldn't have to be.

Al Qaeda, to the best of my recollection, has up to now not attacked Israel.

I uh first of all, uh when it comes to fighting Al Qaeda in intelligence and in other areas, yes, we are together with the United States on all these things.

But Israel did not specifically was not specifically targeted by Al Qaeda, and therefore it's a different kind of account than we have with Hisbalah.
