And now, just to show you how up-to-date we are, We don't ordinarily pay too much attention to American electoral politics, but there are some things that are occasionally worth our interest, and I'd like to talk very briefly about Bernie Sanders' win in the New Hampshire primary.
What I thought was of significance was the non-white vote that Bernie Sanders won.
He came in, he just pipped Buttigieg at the post.
Apparently, as far as white voters are concerned, he had 26%, Buttigieg's 25%, and then Klobuchar was third with 21% now.
When it comes to overall non-white votes, as opposed to Sanders' 26% of the white, he got 32% of the non-white vote.
That was double Joe Biden's 16%.
Joe Biden has, of course, been counting on the non-white vote to put him over the top.
And Buttigieg was in third place with a mere 15%.
It appears the brothers and the sisters, and perhaps the señoras and the señoritas, don't too much care for Mr. Buttigieg.
In fact, if you look at Hispanic votes, Bernie Sanders got 42%,
and in the number two spot was Klobuchar at 14%, Buttigieg at 11%, and poor Joe Biden, only 8%.
What percent of the New Hampshire electorate is actually non-white?
I was afraid you were going to ask.
I was afraid you were going to ask.
This is, of course, an important issue because it is so small.
Yeah, it's a very small sample size.
But this may be a sign of things to come.
And if Bernie, if Bernie's going to pull this one out of the hat, and if, in fact, Joe Biden has gotten the black support that he claims to have.
It will be very important for Bernie to get Hispanic support.
But we'll see.
This is just the first little inkling of which way the nonwhite vote is going to tilt.
So Joe Biden decamped from New Hampshire before.
The votes were all tallied.
Went down to South Carolina, went down to his friends down there, went down to a bunch of blacks, black voters, and said, listen, guys, 99.9% of you, of blacks, haven't even voted yet.
Your voice is going to be heard.
You've got to help me out.
Yes, that's right.
And he's still trying.
But, well, I think the bell may have tolled for old Sleepy Joe.
I'm going to throw a curveball at you real quick.
Have you been shocked to see how many of the personalities on MSNBC and CNN are continuing to use white as a pejorative when they describe why do we continue to allow Iowa and New Hampshire to dictate?
Not at all surprised.
I'd be astonished if they didn't.
Astonished if they didn't.
Yes, yes.
The fact that it's white and old.
White and old.
Especially Iowa.
White and old.
Can't have those people being first.
But anyway, let's move along to yet another candidate just to show you how hip and well-informed and up-to-date and how politically up to speed we are.
And this is Mike Bloomberg.
And what of course was particularly noteworthy this week was the 2015 tape that has emerged in which he says some irrepressible things about stop and frisk.
And let me quote, 95% of your murders, murderers and murder victims fit one M.O.
by which he means modus operandi, I suppose.
You can just take the description, Xerox it and pass it out to all the cops.
They are male minorities, 16 to 25.
That's true in New York.
That's true in virtually every city.
And then he went on to say, defending stop and frisk.
The way to get the guns out of the kids' hands is to throw them up against the wall and frisk them!
There he goes.
And then he complained we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little.
Well, this, of course, is anathema, and everyone in the sky fell upon him.
This has been called racist to the worst of the deepest die.
But let us see whether Michael Bloomberg was right when he said that 95% of the murders fit this description.
That was the figure he used.
Well, let's take murder last year.
According to NYPD statistics, 95.1% of murder victims in New York were minorities.
Mr. Bloomberg was spot on when he said 95%.
Absolute spot on.
Suspects, 93% were black or Hispanic, even though they accounted for only 51% of the population.
And arrest figures, likewise.
Arrest for murder, 93% were black or Hispanic.
Whites, 35% of the population, but accounted for only 3% of murder suspects and 3.3% of arrests.
Deeply, deeply underrepresented.
But the so-called conservatives piled on, including Donald Trump Jr., who called Mr. Bloomberg's comments shocking by any reasonable standard of today.
It's this irrepressible truth-telling.
You know, that's the problem.
In private, they really know the score.
Now, what was most disgusting But apparently only temporarily disgusting was Donald Trump's reaction.
He tweeted, wow, Bloomberg is a total racist, in full caps no less.
Embarrassing moment.
Now he later deleted this tweet.
But if you go back to 2013, there was a time in which he tweeted, sadly, The overwhelming amount of violent crime in our major cities is committed by blacks and Hispanics.
A tough subject.
Must be discussed.
Now this is, as you said, 2013.
Before he was even a candidate.
That was, mind you, Bloomberg's last year as the mayor.
He was doing great things with Stop and Frisk.
That's right.
But now, now, well, in any case, you know, I've got two questions about this tweet, though.
Sadly, The overwhelming amount is black and Hispanic.
Does he want white people to be committing more crime?
Why is it sad?
I don't think it's sad.
It's just a fact.
It's a fact.
It's neither sad nor happy.
Exactly.
We're supposed to weep over it?
Then the other thing is, and this is where I would really stick it to the Commander-in-Chief, he says, all this crime committed by blacks and Hispanics, a tough subject, must be discussed.
Well, now he's got the bully pulpit.
Have we ever heard one peep out of his mouth about the overwhelming representation of blacks and Hispanics in violent crime?
Back in September of 2016, he came out and said he wanted nationwide stop and frisk during a debate with Hillary Clinton.
Or it was after.
It was actually on a Fox News channel.
And he said some things after the Black Lives Matter terrorist attack in Dallas right after July 4th.
2016 but no nobody... No he doesn't talk about it. Doesn't talk about it. Not to the extent that
Bloomberg did. I want to point something out about this whole Bloomberg audio tape that was released.
You said quite succinctly earlier when we were chatting about today's program
it was a Bernie Sanders supporter who leaked this correct?
That's correct.
Because they're worried about him.
And rightfully so.
How much money has he spent so far?
$350 million.
And he sat out the first two because he can still accumulate a lot of delegates with all of the upcoming primaries.
But Steve, when this story broke, I thought to myself, wait a second, I heard this before.
And as so It happens quite substantially when something breaks like this.
Saylor's already done it.
Steve Saylor wrote back on February 7th, 2015.
He found an account in the Aspen Times, Mr. Taylor and dear listener, about this very speech.
And in that article, it mentioned that Bloomberg claimed that 95% of murders fall into a specific category.
Male minority between the ages of 15 and 25.
Nobody batted an eye about this.
Well, it was... I'm sure people were clucking and snorting, and this opposition research guy just luckily tumbled upon it.
But, to me, it is quite fascinating the way the Bloomberg campaign is trying to twist this thing.
When his campaign manager, Kevin Schicke, was asked about this, He turned right on a dime and said that this is an indication Trump is worried about Mr. Bloomberg's rise.
He says, when you threaten Trump, you become a target.
And that's why Donald Trump is calling him a racist.
Now, obviously, he's not answering any question about, well, your guys are racist.
No, no, no.
He's saying, well, this is just proof that he's a threat.
And to me, it's rather astonishing that the media should report it in those terms, rather than holding his feet to the fire on this alleged racist comment he made.
But, I thought further interesting, within hours of this recording surfacing, Mr. Bloomberg met with more than 20 what are called black faith leaders.
Okay.
Black faith leaders.
They used to be called black preachers.
Now it sounds like black faith healers.
In any case, he met with 20 of them at his campaign headquarters in New York and then released a statement from them voicing continued support.
I wonder if, oh, I dare not even suggest this, but I wonder if any palms were greased in the process.
No, of course not.
This is America.
We don't do things like that.
Well, two quick thoughts.
One, I want to point out that back in 2015, during this speech in Aspen, he actually said this, Mr. Taylor.
He said that during his last year in office, a minister in a black Baptist church in Harlem invited him to speak, and he said, While I'm sitting there waiting for him to introduce me, he said to his congregation, you know, if every one of you stopped and frisked your kid before they went out at night, the mayor wouldn't have to do it, Bloomberg said.
And so I knew I was going to be okay with that audience.
That was in the Aspen Times story about this speech that he gave.
Now think about all that has changed.
Obviously the left is going further left because they fear that Trump is somehow this fascist in office, even though he continues to say, In whatever situation he's presented with, he's going to monitor it.
He never does anything, never exercises any executive power, really to actually turn the tide on a number of things that he could have done day one in office.
We've talked about it on this podcast.
Many times.
Now, my main point, though, is Bloomberg is worth what?
55?
I think 55, 60 billion.
He's got all the facts on his side, and to think how cowardly that he would be.
He saved... how many black lives did he actually save?
How many brown lives did he save with Stop and Frisk?
I'm just throwing it out there, seriously.
Yes, we don't know the actual numbers, but probably a substantial number.
Now, this conversation reminds me of the stuff that keeps coming to light.
Nixon, for example, in his conversations with Daniel Patrick Moynihan, talking about race and IQ.
He knew the score, but he didn't ever dare.
In fact, he said, we need to know these things, but never talk about them.
Look where it gets us.
Yes.
Here is Michael Bloomberg.
He knows the score.
He knows what the statistics are.
And now when they come out, he's got the backpedal and kissed the toe of 20 black faith leaders.
What about Ronald Reagan?
Oh, Ronald Reagan.
Same way?
Well, I know.
He said uncomplimentary things about black people when he was younger and when he was out of office, or not in the White House anyway.
They all just clam up.
Once they get into the opportunity where their voice must be heard, where they have the largest possible audience, then they refuse to say what they know to be true.
This is an act of cowardice across the board, Democrat, Republican, but while we're on the subject of Democrats, at least Mr. Buttigieg is saying what he appears to believe.
Well, one last thing on Bloomberg.
He is a horribly anti-white candidate.
I don't want anybody listening to this program to think that we're saying, oh man, he did such great things for New York.
All he did was what Martin O'Malley did when he was the mayor of Baltimore.
He realized, hey, this violent crime is getting out of hand.
We have to do something.
And you know what?
Who are the people who are committing it?
That's who we target.
We don't go after White people who are commuting to the cities to work and then get the heck back to their suburbs.
We go after the people who are committing the crime.
Bloomberg wants to flood our country, open the borders up, destroy sovereignty.
He wants to continue to fund radically anti-gun candidates across the nation who want to do one thing, and that is disarm law-abiding white gun owners.
But what does Pete Buttigieg want to do?
Well, he's probably a number of things, but this is a family program, so we're going to talk about what he wants to do when he's touting a new visa program to flood small American towns with legal immigrants to grow the region's populations that are dwindling, they're dying off.
Obviously because, you know, white people.
I think it was Artiste who said this, Mr. Taylor, don't breed in captivity.
That's a good line.
White people don't breed in captivity.
Well, we're certainly in captivity now.
Yeah, well, this article that discusses Buttigieg's program, they say that it's going to be a boon to corporate investors, housing developers, and big business.
Because guess what?
If you have more people, you got to do what?
Feed them, house them, clothe them.
You've got to create this whole system of capital around them.
Yes, and you have to hire interpreters for when they get drunk and stab each other and don't speak English, and you have to have schools for them, you have to have prisons for them, you know, you have to have welfare for them.
Yes, they're great for the economy.
We know the New York Times last year in 2019 So, during a campaign stop in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Buttigieg touted this new plan to inundate small-town American cities and rural communities with legal immigrants, all with the sole purpose of driving up population growth.
He said this, I'm proposing what we call community renewal visas.
That when a community that is very much in need of growing its population, recognizes that and makes a choice to welcome more than its share of new Americans.
Well see, that's why I oppose to the word inundate.
Because apparently this is voluntary.
All of these poor underpopulated places, like which mayor of which town was it in Maine that says, we're too white, our state's too white.
Apparently there are going to be people, he's counting on people saying, send us these tired, these poor, this wretched refuge.
It's going to be voluntary, I gather.
It's kind of hard to say.
I mean, in this, again, we all thought everything was going to be voluntary.
We thought the 1965 Immigration Act.
We thought that we were all going to still have freedom of association.
So whenever there's a program instituted, especially by somebody who understands that,
just like Joe Scarborough says, there's a freight train of demographic change coming
and the GOP is about to be steamrolled.
The Los Angeles Times said the same thing.
Demographic change in that state dooms the GOP even further.
And, you know, Buttigieg's plan, it seeks to create a heartland visa.
Again, it's to bring more legal immigrants because With business, they need to have an excuse to continue to grow, to build more housing tracts, to plow over farms, and to continue to drive up.
It doesn't make any difference where they're from.
It doesn't make any difference if they have any job skills.
It doesn't make a difference if they speak English.
It doesn't make any difference what their IQ or their educational record is.
That'll be just fine.
And he's all about increasing legal immigration.
That's right.
These candidates are well aware that the demographic wind blows in the face of white America and they only want to accelerate that wind.
They sure do, and it's perfectly logical.
Now, perhaps all of this has contributed to something that the Anti-Defamation League has called to our attention.
According to a recent report of theirs, white supremacist propaganda distribution more than doubled in 2019 over the previous year, making it the highest year on record for such activity in the United States.
A total of, and boy they must be counting carefully, there were a total of 2,713 cases of literature distribution.
An average of more than four a day.
Can you believe that?
And this was compared to a mere 1,214 in 2018.
1,214 in 2018, every state except Hawaii reported at least one such incident.
Now, what this is is people putting up leaflets, distributing flyers.
And as the ADL puts it, this distribution powerfully demonstrates how bigots
are able to spread their message without compromising their anonymity.
Now, at the same time, the ADL documented 20% fewer white supremacist events in 2019, down from 95 to 76.
I don't know how they define a white supremacist event.
I suspect they would call an American Renaissance conference a white supremacist event.
But face-to-face meetings apparently are down.
Distribution is up.
I was struck by the fact that according to the Anti-Defamation League, 66% of all of these leafleting and flyering incidents are attributed to something in Texas called the Patriot Front.
And according to the ADL, this leafleting is quote, An effort to normalize white supremacists' message and bolster recruitment efforts while targeting minority groups including Jews, Blacks, Muslims, non-white immigrants, and the LGBTQ community.
Okay, got that?
It's all hate, specific targets.
Well, I didn't really know much about this Patriot Front outfit, so I went to the ADL and I discovered what their message is.
They have photographs of some of these leaflets.
Do you know what their message is?
Do tell.
Do tell.
Well, here's one.
For the nation, against the state.
Now, does that sound like it's anti-LGBTQ to you?
Another one is, America is not for sale.
Does that sound anti-black?
And here's another one.
Revolution is tradition.
Now see, they'll just have a slogan, and then they're on a website.
And these are all red, white, and blue.
But this is white supremacist hate propaganda.
Now here's one.
One nation against invasion.
They seem to like these sort of rhythmic rhyming things.
And so I did go to their website, and they have these sort of mild essays about race, but it's all sort of red, white, and blue.
The only thing that sort of put me off is that they do flash demonstrations in which they wear face masks, but it's understandable given the dangerous climate in which we live.
But it's striking to me that if you say something like, one nation against invasion, for the nation against the state, America is not for sale, Then, according to the ADL, this is white supremacist hate activity.
They're really straining.
But anyway, this was a matter of such importance that, as I say, they went to the trouble of counting 2,713 instances in which this kind of hateful white supremacist shocking literature and leafleting took place.
Now, let us move to something that is, in fact, something rather more serious than people leafleting messages that say, for the nation against the state.
Namely, this terrible ceasefire weekend in Baltimore.
I always thought we were actually going to talk about something serious.
Baltimore, a couple years ago, as the homicide rate began to really accelerate in that city, obviously that was another city that actually did institute stop and frisk as well.
Back when Martin O'Malley, there was a white mayor, Who did some great things in that city.
He did stem the bloodshed for a few years, but then when he ran for office back in 2016 to be the Democrat nominee, Mr. Taylor, he also apologized for stop and frisk and a lot of his pro-stopping crime measures, pro-police measures.
You've got to apologize for anything that works, because anything that works is going to affect a certain population.
It's as simple as that.
The people who commit crimes!
Yes, yes.
How dare it?
How dare it?
So a couple years ago they started the Ceasefire Week.
I remember I think the first time they did it there were like three shootings, a couple deaths.
Sad stuff because again you'd think that maybe for 72 hours with all of this pressure that you could convince people And 70% black Baltimore.
Hey, put the gun down, dude.
Just for 72 hours.
Just for the weekend.
We need some good publicity.
Well, February 7th through 9th, 2020, was the first ceasefire of this decade.
And it didn't go too well.
It didn't go too well.
It didn't go too well at all.
As there's officially licensed, and I'm sure there is Black Market bootlegged ceasefire merchandise you can buy.
Oh, I don't know if it's Black Market.
It's right there on their website.
It's right there on their website.
You can buy t-shirts, hoodies.
Yes, I think I'll get one.
You should get a ceasefire hoodie.
You look good in that.
Well, it didn't work.
It didn't work.
There were 15 people shot.
Four people dead in Baltimore.
You know, we're talking about a city that has, you know, New York City has 14 times the population of Baltimore.
And in 2019, there were 358 homicides in Baltimore.
There were only 308 in New York City.
Think about that for a second.
It's very sad.
57 homicides per 100,000 in Baltimore.
Just shocking numbers.
If that were a nation, it would probably be the most dangerous in the world.
Maybe El Salvador would be in competition.
Maybe, but again, just think if you took out the 25% white population and you just had the black homicide rate in Baltimore.
That would probably be close to 100?
Perhaps?
Probably.
Maybe.
Yes.
But anyway, this is all very sad.
Again, we can't talk about this.
One of the richest men in the world is now apologizing for making New York City a safer place.
He's on the ground apologizing, and as you said... He's on the ground.
He's on his stomach.
He's on the floor.
He's on the ground.
He's on his knees.
Yes.
And again, as you said, Trump, Trump Jr., the goofballs from Turning Point USA.
Yes.
You've got Brad Parscale, the communications director.
You had Sean Hannity go on his show last night and just sit there and say, what a racist this Bloomberg is.
Even Sean Hannity?
Don't say even Sean Hannity.
He's the worst of the worst of the worst.
Like you said, Giuliani is the only one who would never apologize.
That's right.
Giuliani was great.
He locked them up, threw away the key.
Well, didn't throw away the key, but he made sure that they stayed put away long enough to change their minds.
Yes, sir.
But I guess he's kind of lying low these days for various reasons.
Well, we do have some good news.
We do have some good news.
You'll recall about a year ago, Jussie Smollett, or Smollett.
I never know how he's pronounced.
Smollett.
Is it Smollett?
It is Smollett.
Well, he claimed to have been a victim of a vicious hate crime.
This is in Chicago, and blacks swarmed to his defense.
It was a national scandal.
The Chicago police put in overtime to the tune of $130,000 to solve this vicious hate crime.
Turned out to be a hoax.
We all know about that now.
And he was charged with disorderly conduct.
It strikes me as a kind of an odd, which seemed to me that making a false police report is what you, but he was charged with disorderly conduct.
Then, all of a sudden, Prosecutor Kim Fox's office mysteriously dropped all charges, remember?
And without requiring Mr. Smollett to admit guilt, He got credit for two whole days of community service and he paid no restitution.
He just forfeited $10,000 in bond money and walked out with a big smile on his face.
Kim Fox, prosecutor.
She had recused herself, theoretically, from overseeing the prosecution after admitting that a member of Mr. Smollett's family had gotten in touch with her and also Tina Tchen, Michelle Obama's former chief of staff, had been in touch saying, come on, go easy on our friend Jussie.
Yeah, he's a good guy.
Yeah, he's a good guy.
Astonishingly enough, a special prosecutor was appointed to look into this sudden change.
Why was this guy, Jussie Smollett, let off?
And it turns out that Kim Foxx had not recused herself, she was still caught in the shots in what was done, and all of a sudden this guy who was clearly guilty of finding a false police report, fabricating the whole story, it was a complete hoax start to finish.
He walks off with No problem.
Well, Special Prosecutor Dan Webb was appointed six months ago to investigate all aspects.
And he has said now that prosecuting the actor, charging him, is in the interest of justice and in a special announcement he said, and I quote, Jussie Smollett planned and participated in a staged hate crime attack and thereafter made numerous false statements to Chicago police on multiple occasions reporting a heinous hate crime that he in fact knew had not occurred.
So on February 24th, he will be arraigned.
I find it interesting.
Mr. Webb was appointed to his post by Cook County Judge Michael Tooman.
And he says that he is investigating the way Ms.
Fox handled the entire case, and a final report will be issued.
That might make very interesting reading.
Now, the whole thing has become a bit of a flashpoint in Foxy Kim Fox's re-election campaign.
All three of her primary challenges are using this to attack her credibility.
She was bad, bad, bad, bad, bad.
Only 35 days until the primary election.
I don't wish, I really don't wish to pretend that there are any patterns here.
But Kim Foxx and Justice Smollett are both black.
The family members who contacted Ms.
Foxx were also no doubt black.
Tina Tchen, who sort of intervened too, she's not exactly black, but she's not exactly white either.
Whereas the judge Michael Tooman, who appointed the prosecutor, is pretty light-skinned and so is Special Prosecutor Dan Webb.
Now, you know, I just point this out because these appear to be facts but I draw no conclusions and I see no patterns and I hope our readers do the same.
So, from Chicago, let us move along to another cold city, namely Minneapolis.
Speak to us of Minneapolis.
Well, it might be a cold city, but it is not exactly boasting the population it did back in 1990, as we've seen the influx of refugee resettlement, primarily from Somalia.
Let's talk about what's going on with the police officers and how they're no longer going to ticket motorists.
For broken headlights or turn signals.
Instead, they're going to hand out vouchers to pay for vehicle repairs under a new department policy unveiled on January 30th of 2020.
Now, in other words, if your taillight's out... Have you ever been pulled over for having a taillight out?
I've been pulled over for all kinds of things.
Don't get me on that.
But now, it sounds to me, if you need a taillight, what you need to do is find a police officer and wag your broken taillight in front of him and get yourself a free voucher.
Let's tell the reason why this program is now, why this whole change, this whole show change is going on.
Has a lot to do with the demographic changes going on in Minneapolis.
Hear this.
So, roughly a year ago, there was a debate in City Hall over a possible moratorium on certain traffic stops.
I think you can imagine why they might be doing this, as some council members saw the move as a way to ease the racial disparities in rates of traffic stops.
Others worried that it's only going to harm residents in poorer neighborhoods, Those are of course disproportionately non-white.
They can't afford a taillight.
Where gun violence is prevalent.
Now I have no idea what gun violence has to do with broken headlights or turned signals perhaps.
That was part of the thank you?
Yes!
Well when the word gun violence is prevalent you can't make them pay for a taillight.
I mean that's just all there is to it.
So, weeks and weeks after community forum where residents aired their frustrations with what they claimed was years and years of harassment and discrimination at the hands of the predominantly white police force, this went into effect.
So, I'm going to leave out some of these names, but just get the point.
Under the new policy, instead of writing a ticket for failing to maintain your car, that's basically what this is.
It's failing to maintain your car.
Officers will now have the option of issuing drivers a voucher from the Lights On program.
Oh, it's an option.
In other words, if you're white, they can ticket you.
They could.
That's left out.
It all makes sense now.
That's not all good.
Don't jump to conclusions here.
Again, financed by the non-profit group Micro Grants, which partners with local organizations to promote economic self-sufficiency among lower-income residents, the vouchers can be redeemed at participating auto shops to cover the costs of services such as replacing a bulb from a rear taillight.
Now obviously these poor pitiful Non-whites can't do it on their own.
They can't go to an auto parts store and say, here's three dollars for a new bulb, let's get this fixed.
No, no, no.
They're going to drive around with a broken taillight, broken headlight, find a police officer and say, hey, where's my voucher?
Where's my voucher?
That's what I would do.
Well, you know, maybe they'll do it on how old the car is.
If the car is older than a certain... Because, you know, it would be a little bit fishy if they wrote tickets to every white person and handed out free vouchers.
You've got some white guy driving around in a Tesla.
The voucher's got to be for, you know, $80 versus... Yeah, yeah.
Anyway.
Here we go.
There's one important line we got to bring up.
Civil rights attorney Nekima Levy-Armstrong applauded the move, calling it a step in the right direction toward reversing age-old racial disparities Between black and white motorists.
Age old.
She said this.
I mean, automobiles have only been around since the 20th century.
Age old.
Age old.
19th century.
Ultimately, we want police officers to be problem solvers and not gateways into the justice system for poor people of color.
Now, another person said this, Pete.
Gamarez, a community organizer, I'm not sure how you get that title, what type of credentials you have to have, but he said the guidelines don't go far enough.
He said this, quote, how does that reduce the racial disparities and the stops to begin with?
And I don't see that this is policy changes that.
What?
One of our goals was to illuminate this.
One of our goals was to illuminate.
Illuminate.
It's late.
The stops completely and potentially mail a coupon to the owner of the car and hence remove the interaction with the cop that could not end well for either side.
So, wow!
Let me try to figure this out.
He's saying the police are supposed to be out there keeping an eye on and if they see somebody drive by with a taillight out, they don't go talk to him.
They get his license number and they mail him a coupon.
That way, you get out of jail free, get a free light bulb, and you don't even have to talk to a policeman.
No, they'll mail it to you.
They see you exactly.
They get your license plate.
Again, we're just one step away from not only basically making it illegal to arrest black or brown people, but not only that, but you get a voucher if you commit a crime.
So, hey, you break into someone's house, you steal something, hey, here's a voucher, go to Amazon, here's a $50 Amazon card.
Right, right.
You can buy it instead.
You don't have to break in.
Here's the craziest thing, and this is the kicker from the story.
A 2018 Hennepin County Public Defender's Office report found that more than half of motorist stops citywide for equipment violations were black, even though blacks make up only about a fifth of the city's population.
The disparity was particularly glaring in the ethnically diverse neighborhoods of North Minneapolis, Where the study found that 80% of drivers pulled over were black, compared with 12% who were white.
Now again, that's the last line.
You read that, you say to yourself, wait a second.
If these ethnically diverse neighborhoods in North Minneapolis, how many white people live there?
Is it 12% white?
Then that means that it's...
You know, it's proportionally there.
It's just crazy.
The point is, they're pulled over because they have an equipment problem.
Yes.
Now, is that the police fault?
I guess it is.
That's society's fault.
And we're going to have to... What if you go in for inspection?
Your brakes don't work.
You get a voucher for that too?
I guess.
I mean, golly.
Ultimately, you know, you get a voucher.
You know, you get, I don't know, a $15 gift card if you brush your teeth.
There's just no end to this.
If you're driving 15 miles over and you're black, guess what?
You get a $15 coupon to go to McDonald's.
I have a Mike Bloomberg update I want to read to you real quick.
I'll let you move on.
At the height of the 2008 economic collapse, then New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said
the elimination of discriminatory housing practice known as redlining
was responsible for instigating the meltdown. Did you know he said that?
I did not know he said that. He's worse than I thought.
Well, anyway, from Minneapolis, let us hop over to Philadelphia, the new police chief.
Tell us about the new police chief.
Oh, I was hoping we'd save this one for last because this is hilarious.
Well, we can always use it.
No, let's just let's just roll with it.
So Danielle Outlaw has taken over as the new city police commissioner.
This is a Oh my gosh, I can't believe I'm blanking on this amazing man's name.
Frank Rizzo, whose statue was removed.
We talked about this a couple years ago.
They removed the statue because he didn't defend white hegemony, but he was very tough on crime and the people who committed it.
And they happened to not be Caucasian.
Well, the new police chief, Danielle Outlaw, is, well, she's not Caucasian.
And you know what her first act was?
What do you think her first act was?
Homicides are way up right now in Philadelphia.
Non-fatal shootings way up.
Crime is way up.
You got a DA who is refusing to keep criminals in.
Free transit on the subway.
No, and they don't even get vouchers for failing to maintain their cars.
Here's her first act.
The nail polish she wore this week, it's been among the last things on her mind on her first day on the job, but she was making the rounds, introducing herself to the troops.
Outlaw said people kept pointing out that her black nail polish that she was wearing on these long fingernails technically violated the department's directives on appearance.
So what is Police Commissioner Outlaw Due.
Her first official actions as top cop of Philadelphia.
Outlaw changed the rule to allow for more stylish nails.
More diverse nails.
I wonder if male police officers now can wear black nail polish.
Get this monolithic nails out of the way.
We gotta have diversity.
So, during an interview Wednesday, her firsts taking over, outlawed the first black woman to lead the 6,500 proud member department.
Said although her action might have seemed narrow, it reflects the type of broader change she believes she is needed in policing.
Here we go.
Let's roll with it.
Ready for this?
Quote, it's the small things that allow us to feel not only welcome, but supported.
It's one thing to recruit me and say, oh, yes, we want you.
But if there's no support system in place to say, not only do we want you, but we celebrate you.
And we recognize that you bring something different.
We're not going to get the people that we say that we want.
Now, tell me something.
Is black fingernails, is that a black thing?
Is that a black pride thing?
Did I miss this?
I don't know.
Big, long, black fingernails.
She certainly seems to be suggesting that, doesn't she?
Well, here's what she suggested, though.
She went further.
She said minority communities have deeply rooted mistrust of police because the profession was conceived as slave patrols.
Groups who sought to control behavior and movements of slaves.
And she added that in And she's talking about Philadelphia.
Slave patrols in Philadelphia.
You gotta go back quite a ways, but oh, she's got an institutional memory, doesn't she?
I've got great news.
Her fingernails are liberated and all the fingernails of the black female cops on that Proud Force.
They can paint it whatever color they want to because that was Commissioner Outlaw's first decision.
First official act.
Well, I wonder if red, white, and blue is banned.
Anyway.
Green, red, and black won't be.
No, no, you're right about that.
Well, moving from Philadelphia to New York City with yet another police story.
This has to do, our hero of this story is named Robert Williams.
Last Friday night, he walked up to a marked NYPD van at Hunts Point in the Bronx and started yelling at two officers inside.
Just unprovoked yelling.
And they told him, you know, look, we've had enough of this.
And he backed off and went away.
Well, the very next night, Saturday night, he came back the same cross street, same corner, and there was a different NYPD van parked there, and he opened fire.
Opened fire, and he wounded Officer Paul Stroffolino.
Hit him in the neck and chin, but Officer Strofolino survived.
Well, that was Saturday.
Sunday morning, he walked a couple of blocks from where he'd been before to the 41st Precinct in the Bronx and started shooting with a Sig Sauer 9mm until he ran out of ammo apparently.
He managed to wound one police lieutenant before they scuffled and got him to the ground.
Now, I'd really like to know a little bit more about what happened in that precinct.
Did this guy have really bad aim?
Or was it just only one round?
You got a 9mm and you just emptied the magazine and you managed to shoot one guy and you wounded him not very badly.
Very poor shot.
In any case, He was roughed up in the process of being arrested and in his hospital bed, he vowed that he would shoot another cop if he gets a chance.
He is utterly unrepentant.
Now, at that point, Bill de Blasio did say that he said that this was an assassination attempt against a premeditated assassination attempt against New York's finest.
This is Bill de Blasio saying what he's supposed to say.
Well, I found it quite fascinating that Bill de Blasio has so alienated the NYPD that the Sergeants Benevolent Association on that moment said They were declaring war on Mayor Bill de Blasio.
He says, do not visit us in hospitals.
We do not respect you.
I think this is really quite extraordinary.
Then he went on to say, NYPD cops have been assassinated because of you, before adding, this isn't over.
Game on.
This is an extraordinary expression of hostility made by the police force.
It is.
And he just actually met with President Trump at the White House today on Wednesday, February 12th.
Or the Sergeant Benevolent Association.
Correct.
But, you know, you can certainly understand this.
de Blasio has been so insulting of the police, cited every time with some crook or criminal or murderer.
And remember back in 2014, officers just turned their backs On Bill de Blasio, on a number of formal occasions.
Correct.
This is such a terrible, terrible commentary on the morale of a police force and how a city is policed.
But this is the kind of world we now live in, where mayors are constantly insulting their police.
And so even if he tweets out something that is, on the face of it, quite sympathetic, they say, get lost.
This is war.
Don't even visit us in the hospital.
I was also wrong about something.
In 2019, murders rose to 318 in New York City, not 308.
Of course, a lot of that does have to do with criminal justice reform and the fact that now we're seeing the situation where no bail is being instituted for a lot of crimes that are considered felonies in that state and in that city.
Yes, well let us turn to a lighter but heavy in its own way question.
Victoria Fuller, a name not very well known probably to our listeners, but she's one of these young pop-tarts who was chosen to be on the cover of Cosmopolitan wearing a bikini.
She wore a photo contest and her spirit and her verve were such that they didn't know the names of any of these people, the backgrounds of any of them, but she was the people's choice.
Well, turns out She has now been deprived of her appearance on the cover of Cosmopolitan.
The reason is, she had done a photo shoot in which she is said to have been wearing white lives matter paraphernalia.
She had a hat that said white lives matter on it.
She had a t-shirt that said white lives matter on it.
Now, this is not however what you think.
She was doing a model photo shoot for a company called We Love Marlins.
Marlins?
Marlins, the fish.
And you see, apparently blue marlins and white marlins are being overfished.
So when they say White Lives Matter or Blue Lives Matter, they have pictures of fish on them.
But since she had a hat that said WHM, I'm sorry, WLM, White Lives Matter on it, She was told that she was not going to be on the cover after all.
Cosmopolitan said, unequivocally, the white lives matter movement does not reflect the
values of the Cosmo brand.
We stand in solidarity with black lives matter and any cause that fights to end injustice
for people of color.
Now Victoria Fuller said, I apologize immensely.
I suppose that's like apologizing bigly.
But in any case, it was no good.
It was no good.
She is off the cover of Cosmopolitan because she also wore t-shirts that said Blue Lives Matter with pictures of blue fish on it.
But white lives matter, even if we're talking about saving the Marlins.
Well, get your contract jerked.
So, as I say, a light story but with a heavy and unfortunate moral to it.
Let's move along to William Barr and what he had to say.
Well, this is going to be filed under that too little too late.
William Barr is, of course, Attorney General and he announced on Monday in the late stages of year three of President Trump's First term, we'll see if it's his only term, that there will be a significant escalation from the government against sanctuary cities.
Finally, low-hanging fruit, guys.
So how's it going to work?
Tell me the details.
What are the details?
So, the government against sanctuary cities, counties, states, including lawsuits against localities opposed to Trump's administration's hardline immigration policies.
So what they're going to do is attempt to crack down on local and state governments that have pledged to protect undocumented immigrants, illegal aliens from deportation.
First, lawsuits were announced against the state of New Jersey and one of our favorite topics, King County, Washington, which includes Seattle.
So Barr said this, quote, unfortunately, in various jurisdictions, so-called progressive politicians, Are jeopardizing the public safety by putting the interests of criminal aliens before those of law-abiding citizens.
Now, we've talked about King County, where they don't honor any detainers, and a number of these illegal aliens, you know, they just won't tell ICE what's going on, and they're just let back out, and then they commit heinous, barbaric crimes, murders, sex assaults, whatever.
That's happening all over the country?
Happening all over the country.
So Barr, he was speaking at the National Sheriffs Association 2020 Winter Legislative and Technology Conference, said his department is reviewing the practices, policies, and laws of other jurisdictions across the country to find out if they follow laws banning the harboring or shielding of illegal immigrants.
So the suit against New Jersey is going to attempt to prevent states from enforcing law that stops them from sharing information So this is harboring an illegal alien?
Correct.
Well, I mean, this is such an obvious thing.
If that was the law, they could have and should have done it on day one.
So the King County case is going to fight a law that bans the Department of Homeland Security from, quote, deporting illegal aliens from the United States through the county airport, unquote.
Barr also mentioned a lawsuit against California over legislation forbidding private detention facilities.
Now again, This is great.
Obviously, we all know what happened the moment President Trump got elected, the whole Russia in stuff.
There was a lot hanging over this administration.
That's all gone now.
You've got what?
We are eight months away from an election?
Yes.
If he wants to be re-elected, he's got to start doing all the stuff that he promised people back in 2015-2016.
The lawsuits will have only gone through a few preliminary motions in the next eight months.
Bingo.
If he is not re-elected, those lawsuits are going nowhere.
Just like the border.
Actually, the border is going somewhere.
It's going to be nowhere.
It won't be a border.
Well, let's move on to one of our favorite organizations, the Southern Poverty Law Center.
As you recall, about a year ago, it had to fire its co-founder, Morris Deans, as well as its chief.
His name was Cohen, Richard Cohen.
Richard, yeah.
Yes, Richard.
And because they were accused of racial discrimination, sexual harassment, and all sorts of wickedness.
And the lady that we mentioned earlier, the former chief of staff of Michelle Obama, was
brought in, Tina Tchen, to clean house and rid the SPLC of racial discrimination, sexual
harassment, and all of the other wicked things that it's supposed to be policing all around
the world, but of which itself was guilty.
Now, after all this house cleaning, the SPLC is proud to announce that it's got a new chief
executive coming in.
And I'll see you in the next video.
And I can't help noticing these strange patterns.
Go ahead.
But they had an Asian lady who cleaned house.
And after having pitched out two white men, who's coming in?
Who's coming in?
Another Asian lady.
Okay.
Her name is Margaret Huang.
And up until now, she'd been the executive director of Amnesty International USA.
She's going to be the top dog at the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Now, as she said, I'm excited to take on the role of president and CEO and to join the team there in fighting hate and discrimination in all its forms.
And I guess she's going to start right at SPLC headquarters because apparently there's lots of hate and discrimination going on right inside the building.
She better get to work.
She'll cut her teeth on that.
Now, let's see what she's been up to.
She has petitioned the federal government to adopt socialized medicine because health care is a human right.
And she has condemned ICE for, quote, human rights violations.
And she has a very dim view of gun rights.
And let's see, as far as the Trump administration scaling back on refugee resettlement, didn't they reduce to 18,000 this time around?
Very small amount.
Yes, compared to... I recall Hillary was going to double the figure from 100,000 to 200,000.
And she called this cruel, inhumane, bigoted, and she said that the Muslim ban was a policy rooted in hate, white supremacy, and racism, so she's gonna fit right in at the SBOC.
So, I wish you well, Margaret Hoang, and I suspect we'll be hearing more from you in the future.
And while we're on the subject of non-white activism here, I must not overlook Jorge Ramos, who wrote this lovely editorial in the New York Times.
You know, if you've never seen a picture of Jorge Ramos, listener, go take a look at him real quick.
He's probably whiter than Jared Taylor.
That's right, he is pretty white.
He's got blue eyes.
Yes, I should not say non-white activism, but let's say anti-American, anti-original American activism.
In any case, he's all upset that the Mexican National Guard troops, as he says, equipped with helmets, batons, and shields, they're on the highway connecting Mexican cities of Ciudad Hidalgo to stop a caravan of migrants heading into the United States from Central America.
Because as we know, Mexico has now become the wall.
It has been.
It's wonderful.
He says the guardsmen used pepper spray on the caravan.
And then he says hundreds were detained, sent back to Guatemala, or deported to Honduras.
And as he says, Mexico has effectively turned into an extension of Mr. Trump's immigration police.
He's right.
He's right.
And he's bemoaning the fact that as of November 2019, those who are seeking asylum in the United States, 56,000 of them have been pitched back across the border to Mexico to wait for the outcome of their applications.
So, he is absolutely incensed at this.
Now, this was sort of the key phrase I thought.
He says, I am surprised by the indifference shown by so many Mexicans over the abuses of the National Guard.
Because Mexicans themselves don't want these people tramping through Mexico, even if they're on their way to the United States.
They're sick and tired of it.
Remember they camped out in Tijuana?
Yes.
Made a terrible pest of themselves.
He says, and he's appalled by, quote, the vicious attacks on social media aimed at Central Americans.
He says, just let them go through and protect them.
That's what Mexico should do.
So he's appalled at his own people.
Well, I guess none of them have camped out in his backyard.
So, I think that is all the stories.
Oh, no, no, no.
There was a little item about the Mexican police.
Now, despite the fact the National Guard is doing a great job, the Mexican police, did you know that there's a certification standard intended to show that the police in Mexico are Trustworthy.
Okay.
Competent.
Okay.
Physically fit.
Makes sense.
Meet performance standards.
Don't take drugs.
Don't have a criminal record and have no links to organized crime.
But can they have long black fingernails?
Probably not.
Probably not.
We need to get Commissioner Outlaw down there immediately.
Yes.
Well, this all sounds pretty good to me, but the national average is only 43% of police actually meet those standards.
Now, It depends on the state, too.
Jalisco State, only 2.7% of the officers passed.
And in Mexico City, only 14.3%.
Our new country is going to be great.
A lot of social capital heading up north.
Now, and this is particularly good.
Last year, when they had the test, 26,700 officers flunked the test.
Flunked.
And according to the law, they're supposed to be fired.
Okay.
Out of that 26,700 officers who failed, guess how many were fired?
20.
Oh, you're way off.
392.
Okay.
392.
They cleaned house, man!
Well, you know, the trouble is, but that was just 1.4%.
1.4% were actually fired.
So, the thing is, it looks like they've got a situation in which they actually fired all the people who flunked, yet have no police.
Now, my question to you, and to our ladies and gentlemen in the audience, would they be better off with no police, or the people who fail this test?
I'll tell you what.
If you're in Minneapolis, I'm sure that they'd love to get those vouchers.
I'm sure the people of Mexico City are driving around with a lot of broken taillights and they would love, love to have those lights on vouchers.
Welcome to the new America, right?
Welcome to the New America.
That's heading our way, heading our way, and Mr. Buddy Gig wants to fill your town with these people.
That's all he wants to fill your town with.
Hey!
On that note, make sure that you like this episode, give us a thumbs up, and make sure you subscribe to Renaissance Radio.
So for Jared Taylor, this has been Paul Kersey.
We'll see you next week.
