Informed Talk Radio Show.
I'm your host, Craig James.
It's Monday, and we're back.
I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend.
We're going to get into some of the big stories just in a bit.
But before that, you know what we do every Monday?
We listen to a sermon from Pastor Dean Miller over at Front Range Baptist Church here in Fort Collins, Colorado.
And today's no different.
We're going to jump over to his sermon about what are ways that seem right.
It's a very interesting sermon, and I'm glad to share it with all of you out there listening.
Let's go over that.
I told you last week as we go into the book of Ecclesiastes that for many people Ecclesiastes is a pessimistic book.
Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.
Everything in life is empty.
And Solomon left us his journal and I'm glad that he did because he's trying to find the great answers to what life is all about.
And he had an inquiring mind on how to live life to the fullest.
And I want you to know that as we go through this study of Ecclesiastes, we're not going to just deal with Solomon's futility and emptiness and vanity of life.
We're going to take Solomon's quest for satisfaction and how he turned his life into a futile, empty life.
And we're going to see how you and I can have a flourishing, fruitful, happy life, a satisfied life, a joyful life.
And we don't have to make the same mistake.
We don't have to go the same way.
God did not make you to be a pessimist.
He did not make you to be down and in the dumps.
Jesus said, my joy I am giving to you, that your joy may be full.
I want to ask you this question today.
Are you a joyful person?
Do you have the joy of the Lord in you?
Do you really know the joy of Christ?
Are you able to smile?
In the face of adversity.
Now, I understand there are tears and there are burdens, there are heartaches in life.
I get it.
Life is filled with trouble.
The Bible says, as Job said, the man that is born of a woman is a few days and full of trouble.
All of us have trouble.
But if you just pursue life your way, you're going to find out that life is empty.
And life is vain and vanity.
And here's a reason for it.
God made it that way.
Romans chapter 8, we saw last week, Romans chapter 8 verse 20. That the creature was made subject unto vanity.
Not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope.
Listen to me.
God in his grace made life empty and vain and unsatisfying because you in your sinful condition, if you could find satisfaction in anything outside of him, you would do it.
You would do it.
And you would have a ton of money and you wouldn't know him.
And so God in his grace said, I'm not going to allow anything in life to satisfy you apart from me.
And anything that you have in life that comes from me, you can have joy in it.
And that's the answer.
And I want us to have a happy life.
I want us to have a flourishing life and a full life.
Solomon basically lived by the same philosophy that has been around for the ages.
And several years ago, it was a popular saying among young people.
I don't think it's in vogue anymore, but people were saying, YOLO, you only live once.
And Solomon kind of had that same mindset.
You only live once.
And while it's true, it's not totally accurate.
We don't just live once.
We're going to die once.
And then there's life after that.
And where we go after that is everything.
So we're not just living once.
We're dying once.
But when you live in a mindset of, I only have this one life to live.
I've got to get it right.
You'll begin to grasp at anything and everything that comes along trying to figure out what can make me happy.
What is the answer of life?
And you'll take anything that you can get.
And Solomon was no different.
He was looking for happiness and fulfillment as well.
And we have his journal on it, and I'm glad that we have his journal.
Solomon wrote this book, and it was very much like a master's thesis or a doctrinal dissertation, if you've ever had to do one of those.
You have to write this dissertation or a thesis, and you have to examine subjects from every angle and make your arguments and put every bit of information.
And that's what Solomon is doing in the book of Ecclesiastes.
He's like, I am looking for the answers, and I can't find them.
Everything I think I have in my hands is gone and it's empty and I found satisfaction in nothing.
30 countries were interviewed over a decade and hundreds of thousands of people were asked.
They were trying to find out where the happiest places on earth to live were and so they interviewed people from 30 nations.
Hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people were surveyed and at the end of that survey, here's what they found.
Only 52% Of all the people surveyed said that they were somewhat happy.
And they were just somewhat happy.
Only 52%.
And here's the reasons why they gave them happiness.
Here was the top four reasons.
Number one, my personal financial situation.
People said, I've invested well.
I've got good retirement.
I'm pretty well set.
I can buy things.
My personal financial situation, I'm somewhat happy because of that.
Some said, oh, you know, I'm happy because of my hobbies and my interests.
And I have things that I have found in life that I really enjoy and they make me somewhat happy.
Some said it was in being in nature.
I live in a part of the world where I can walk through the Alps.
I can go to the ocean.
I can sit by the beach.
I can go out into nature and I can observe beautiful things.
I live in a beautiful part of the world.
And just being out in nature makes me somewhat happy.
And then the final answer, people said, I'm somewhat happy because I have found someone to live life with.
And, you know, I think Solomon would have answered all of those questions.
If you had asked Solomon, Solomon, what have you been looking for to make you happy?
Well, my personal financial situation.
Being in nature.
Solomon didn't just plant gardens, he planted forests.
He had all kinds of things that he did.
We'll talk about that in a minute.
But he had all kinds of hobbies and interests.
And he found...
That special someone.
All 1,000 of them.
And he was looking for that special one and couldn't find her.
And he just got a bunch of them.
You know, it's sad that people have answered the same way.
Today, they're looking for happiness in all of those things.
Financial standing.
The people around us.
Our hobbies and interests.
We're looking for all kinds of external things to make us happy.
And one of the saddest things I ever heard, I heard Tom Brady on a...
I got a clip of Tom Brady talking about it after he had won his third Super Bowl ring.
Tom Brady, if you don't know, he was the quarterback for the New England Patriots and was one of the most winning quarterbacks that there was.
And he had everything in life.
He was tall, he's handsome, got great health, athletic prowess.
He was at the top of his game.
He had accomplished more than many quarterbacks before him had accomplished.
And here's what he said on that interview.
Listen to this carefully.
He said, why do I have three Super Bowl rings and still feel like there's something greater out there?
Then he said this, and this is his words, I'm quoting him, God, it's got to be more than this.
I mean, here's a man who has been at the top of his craft, money, athleticism, all of that, and he says, it's got to be more than this.
You know what he was saying with Solomon?
It's vanity.
It's vanity.
Jim Carrey is one of the funniest guys that ever graced the planet.
And he went downhill fast, but had incredible ability to make people laugh, could fill stadiums as a stand-up comedian, starred in all kinds of Hollywood movies.
And yet, he began to struggle so much with depression and unhappiness and the abuse that he'd been through in his life.
He went out into his California home in the mountains and he built a private, little, tiny house, box, that...
Had a private entrance.
Nobody knew how to get to it.
And he would go out there and just sit for days in solitude.
And he said in an interview that I have never been able to quiet my mind and find satisfaction in anything.
And nothing satisfies.
And that story could be told over and over and over again.
And Solomon wrote two times in the book of Proverbs.
In Proverbs 14 and Proverbs 16, Solomon wrote two times.
There is a way.
It seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
All right, we'll be back.
Mama told me.
We'll be right back.

I never knew there'd come a day When I'd be saying to you,

real and the feeling comes shining through I'm so caught up in you, little girl And I never get to spend a lot of time So caught up in you
Solomon said, you know, there's a way that seems right to a man, but when you get to the end of that thing, there's nothing there but emptiness and death and futility.
And we're going to show you today in Ecclesiastes chapter 1. Look in your Bible, Ecclesiastes chapter 1. I'm going to show you the four main paths that Solomon walked.
Ways, this is what we're going to title today, ways that seem right.
I mean, these are ways that seem right.
And listen, this is the path that many people, even believers, are on these paths.
And we need to see him in living color.
Look at him.
Ecclesiastes chapter 1 and verse 12. I, the preacher, and remember the preacher there, we learned last week, he's the gatherer.
He's the collector.
He is really a searcher.
He's not a guy standing up preaching the word.
He's a man who's ecclesying.
That's why it's called Ecclesiastes.
He's a gatherer.
He's trying to find information.
He's gathering up knowledge and wisdom and sorting it all through, trying to find these answers.
I, the preacher, was king over Israel and Jerusalem.
And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven.
This sore travail hath God given to the sons of men to be exercised therewith.
I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.
That which is crooked cannot be made straight.
That which is wanting cannot be numbered.
I communed with my own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate and have gotten more wisdom than all day that have been before me in Jerusalem.
Yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge, and I gave my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly.
And I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit, for in much wisdom is much grief.
And he that increaseth knowledge, increaseth spirit.
Man, what a pessimistic view of life.
And why is it?
Because Solomon said this.
He said, you know what?
I've been given this gift of wisdom and I have more wisdom than everybody and I'm the king.
I'm going to give myself.
I'm going to set my heart to know.
So Solomon walked the path that everybody thinks that they can walk to find the meaning of life, and that is the way of education.
Solomon thought, I'm going to just learn as much as I can learn.
I'm going to acquire as much information as I can give.
I'm going to learn everything there is to know.
By the way, you read about it in 1 Kings chapter 4. Solomon, kings of the world were sending honorages to him.
To come and learn about everything.
You read about it in 1 Kings 4. They came and they discussed trees.
They discussed everything from the cedars of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of the crack of a wall.
They discussed animals and birds and flowers.
They discussed zoology and botany and minerals.
They discussed everything with him.
The way of life.
Solomon talked about their customs and their cultures.
And they sat in these rooms.
And Solomon just basically ran these lecture halls where kings and caravans would come from all over the world.
And they would just sit to hear Solomon talk about everything that he knew.
He would gain from them, and he was just gaining so much knowledge.
And he said, all it did was increase my sorrow.
The more I knew, the less I wanted to know.
You ever been there?
I asked you about that last week.
Have you ever learned something that you wished you didn't know?
You know, when you're young, people say, hey, did you hear?
What, what, what, what?
As you get older, you're like, I don't even want to know.
Everything I've ever learned has just got me in trouble.
I don't want to know that.
The less I know, ignorance is bliss.
Solomon is just looking for anything that he can to gain knowledge.
He was the king.
And he thought, you know, when I became king, that's it, you know.
Like the Lion King, you know.
I can't wait to be king.
When I'm king, I've got it all.
Well, Solomon had it all.
And yet he didn't have it all.
Jerusalem was at peace.
Forty years Jerusalem was at peace.
Jerusalem was at peace under Solomon's reign more than it's ever been at peace.
It's not at peace today.
He had nothing to do.
He had no wars to fight.
He had massive resources.
And he was meeting with all of these other kings and kingdoms.
Acquiring all this understanding.
And he thought that he had acquired wisdom.
Verse number 16. He said, I said, I said, Lo, I have come to greatest day.
I have gotten more wisdom than all day that had been before me.
Wrong, Solomon.
You did not get wisdom.
You did not acquire wisdom.
God gave that to you.
God gave it to you.
And I think one of the things that you're going to find is that Solomon is learning all this stuff.
And Solomon, at this stage in his life, had become arrogant.
He was an arrogant man.
You're going to see in this passage of scripture that early on in the book of Ecclesiastes, he's been writing in a third person, but all of a sudden now it becomes very personal.
I, and I got, and I did, and I did this, and I did this for me, and I talked to my heart, and he was just filled with himself.
And that's what Paul told us.
Paul said, knowledge puffeth up.
That happens to a lot of smart people.
You know, there's a lot of educated people that are full of themselves.
They're the smartest person in the room, and they really are.
There are people you can talk to, they know everything.
I mean, they know it all.
You can't tell them anything that they don't know.
And if they were to come to you and say, what's wrong with you?
Why aren't you talking to me anymore?
And you said, you know, just because you're a know-it-all.
I knew that.
I knew that's what it was.
I mean, you can't teach them anything.
They're just arrogant.
That's what Solomon was.
He had gotten so much knowledge and so much information.
He had been puffed up in his life.
And he's...
Looking at the horizontal view of life under the sun.
He's looking at life horizontally.
And he's trying from end of the world to end of the world and everything in between to figure out the meaning of life.
He's studying the flowers, the bees, the trees, everything that he can find.
And he's coming up empty.
Three different times.
Look at it.
Look at verse 13. I gave my heart to seek.
Look at verse number 16. I communed with my own heart.
Look at verse number 1 of chapter 2. I said in my heart.
Solomon has been, watch this, he's been meeting with all of these honorages and all of these kings and kingdoms.
I mean, the queen of Sheba, everybody's coming to him.
He's meeting with all of them.
He's trying to acquire all this information.
He finally says, you know what?
I'm smarter than everybody.
I've acquired more wisdom than everybody.
So you know who I'm going to talk to?
I'm going to talk to myself.
I'm going to figure it out on my own.
Somebody once wisely said, look around, be distressed.
Look within, be depressed.
Look to Jesus, be at rest.
Solomon was looking around and he was distressed.
He looked in and he got more depressed.
Just vexation of spirit.
Nothing. I got nothing.
You know what Solomon, one of Solomon's conclusions about education was?
Verse 15, that which is crooked cannot be made straight.
You know what Solomon realized?
There is something inherently wrong with mankind.
Mankind is crooked in his very heart.
And I don't care how much information you get.
Listen, listen, listen.
You can have public schools and universities and you can throw billions of dollars into the Department of Education at them.
You can tax the people and tell that you are squeezing money out of every citizen.
You can raise their property taxes.
You can build bigger schools, better schools.
You can get all the technology.
You can try to get as much information into the kids' heads as possible.
And there's just something wrong with people.
Education is not the answer.
It cannot straighten out what is crooked.
You know why?
God told us that that which is born of the flesh is flesh.
And you have to be born again.
I need to be straightened out.
You need to be straightened out.
And education isn't going to do it.
By the way, if education was the way to fulfillment and joy and happiness and the fullness of life, our university campuses would be the paragon of joy and happiness.
And are they?
Man, they're the most oppressed, depressed.
Seekers, they are looking for all kinds of sin.
They're doing everything they can to find the answers to life.
They're protesting everybody.
They are the most miserable, unhappy lot of people.
Why? Because education doesn't have the answers.
Somebody once said that if you were to take a timeline of the world and you were to take all the information, all the knowledge that man had acquired in the numbers of centuries, millennia before it, up to the 1800s, it would be about an inch on the line.
And then all of the knowledge that man had acquired from the 1800s up to 1975 would be about three inches.
The exponential growth of wisdom and knowledge.
And then you were to take all of the knowledge that man has acquired from 1975 to present day, on that same line it would be about the height of the Washington Monument.
Knowledge is doubling every year.
I mean, think about it.
Think about it.
With the advent of the internet, you can today, you can find out the gross national product of Saudi Arabia.
You can find out all kinds of genetic things about monkeys.
I remember when I was a kid, and I was a teenager when the internet first came out, remember that?
Had the little tower, put in my floppy disk, got my dial up.
How many of you remember that sound?
Some of you young people are like, what is he talking about?
And I tell everybody, don't get on the phone!
I'm doing research!
And it's dialing.
And all of a sudden it loads up.
And I had this thing.
It was the Encyclopedia Britannica.
It was crazy.
You could go to a musical instrument.
You could pull up a musical instrument.
I did not even know what an oboe did.
I could pull up an oboe and you could click on it and you could hear an oboe.
It would take a second.
But then you'd hear...
Now listen, I learned all about an oboe.
I learned about xylophones.
I learned about saxophones.
I learned about all kinds of stuff.
Can't play one of them.
You can learn anything you want today.
With social media, you can learn about anybody, anything, anywhere, at any time.
I mean, listen to me.
Knowledge has exploded.
But you know what we can't find with all of our learning?
How to be happy.
How do I make relationships work?
How can I satisfy my life?
How can I live a full life?
How do I find the meaning of life?
Education doesn't work.
And here's Solomon's great conclusion.
Are you ready?
Solomon's great conclusion is verse 18. In much wisdom is much grief.
And he that increases knowledge increases sorrow.
I learned that verse in seminary.
I mean, I didn't learn that verse in seminary.
I learned that verse in seminary.
The more I had to learn, the more sorrowful I was.
All these papers, all these tests, all these quizzes, all this stuff that I've been taught, now you've got to give an answer for it.
And I want to just tell you, you increase your knowledge, you increase your sorrow.
Because what you know now, you're responsible for.
And Solomon just said, it's miserable.
And I'll tell you what, that is the first path that he went down.
That's the path of education.
And education, listen to me, education will not satisfy a man.
Is education wrong?
No. No.
But education for education's sake will never answer man's deepest questions.
You're never going to find the answers that you need in the university, in the degree.
Number two, Solomon went down another road.
He got sick and tired of being in the lecture hall.
He got sick and tired of talking about botany and zoology.
Wouldn't you?
He got tired of that.
So look what he said in chapter 2, verse 1. I said in my heart, go to now.
I will prove thee with mirth.
Therefore enjoy pleasure.
And behold, this also is vanity.
I said of laughter, it is mad.
And of mirth, why doth it?
I sought in my heart to give myself unto wine, yet acquainting my heart with wisdom and to lay hold on folly till I might see that was good for the sons of men, which they should do unto the heaven all the days of their life.
Here's what Solomon did.
He gave himself to the way of pleasure.
I mean, Solomon said this.
I've been sitting in these lecture halls talking about stuff.
It's boring.
I don't even want to know anymore.
I know more than everybody.
My knowledge is huge.
I got more knowledge than everyone.
And I'm bored with it.
So he just decided to become a pleasure seeker.
Solomon started partying.
He said, I'm going to give myself the pleasure.
Look, but listen.
He began to party.
And nobody could party like Solomon.
Nobody could do what Solomon could do.
Solomon had unlimited resources.
Solomon had insatiable desires.
He had tons of curiosity.
And he had time.
So Solomon just threw parties.
And what parties they were.
I mean, listen, nobody could...
I mean, just think about it for a minute.
Just let your imagination go to the grounds of Solomon's palace and just hear the music.
See the masses of people.
All the things that are taking place and everything they're eating.
1 Kings chapter 4 tells us Solomon's daily provision.
And the key word here is daily.
What they had to eat every day to sustain his household.
Are you ready for this?
I don't think you're ready for it.
Think about this grocery list.
Every day, Solomon's household consumed 150 bushels of choice flour, 300 bushels of meal, 10 oxen from the fattening pens, 20 oxen that were pasture-fed,
100 sheep, plus deer, gazelles, roebucks, and the choicest of fowls.
One day, who's eaten 30 cows in a day?
Plus a hundred sheep.
Nothing like a mutton lettuce and tomato sandwich.
I mean, listen, they're eating, man.
They are loading up and partying down.
They are satisfying every urge, every craving, everything.
Solomon is bringing in the best comedians.
He wants to give himself the laughter.
He is rolling on the floor, holding his sides.
I mean, the best comedians of the day were there.
The best music, the best bands, they had it all.
And he was just partying hardy.
He was having a great time.
But he said, you know what?
At the end of the day, when the laughter's over, I'm as empty as I was when it started.
Listen, laughter's a gift from God.
The Bible says of God that He fills our mouth with laughter.
I really believe today we don't laugh enough.
I've had people tell me before when I preach, they say, you know, you tell too many jokes or stories or you just kind of get too lighthearted when you preach.
I can't believe that you would say something like that and make everybody laugh.
And I think, you know, if you just knew the stuff that I didn't say, you would give me a medal.
There's stuff that pops in my head that I want to say and the Holy Spirit's like, uh-uh, no, check that.
But Lord, that would be hilarious.
Okay. Keep that to yourself.
All right, we'll be back.
Have you considered what it takes to truly follow Jesus?

Reasons to Own Gold.
Brought to you by the Patriot Trading Group at allamericangold.com.
Reason number 647.
Most people don't even know that the courts have already ruled.
Once money is deposited into the bank, the bank owns the money, and the depositor is merely an unsecured creditor of the bank.
Which means if the bank goes under, you get paid last.
After the financial crisis, instead of breaking up too big to fail, the government and the Federal Reserve created Dodd-Frank and made too big to fail banks even bigger while putting your deposits more at risk.

Suck a punch, somebody on the sidewalk.
Carjacking old lady at a red light.
Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store.
You think it's cool, act a fool if you like.
Cuss out a cop, spit in his face.
Stomp on the flag and light it up.
Yeah, you think it's tough.
Try that in a small town.
See how far you make it down the road.
We're going right back to Pastor Dean Miller's sermon.
I mean, listen, I think we don't laugh enough.
I've told young parents through the years when they're setting up the philosophy of their home, the three great keys to a successful family.
Number one, be firm.
Have some rules and stick to them.
But number two, be fair.
Make sure that the rules that you have, that you're not too harsh, that you're not too soft, that you're consistent.
Be firm and be fair.
But be fun.
Laughter should fill the home.
Listen, you ought to laugh more.
Listen, laugh at yourself.
You'll never run out of material.
Just laugh at you.
Listen, I do the dumbest things.
Sometimes I do the stupidest things and I'll say, I'm such an idiot.
Michelle will say, amen.
We laugh.
We have fun.
My wife, listen, my wife, when we were first married, she found out that I have a really bad startle instinct.
And so, like, she loved to walk.
She loved to scare me.
And she would find all kinds of ways to scare me.
My wife put a mask on one time.
I was super tired.
I'd come home late.
I'm walking down the hallway, and she was wearing a denim skirt, like a denim dress, a jean skirt, and a dark shirt, and she had this boogery mask.
I mean, it was a demon-looking thing.
And she's walking out of a dark room, and she's just walking.
All she's doing is walking at me.
She's not saying anything.
And because of the light and what she was wearing, it looked like she was floating.
And I literally thought, This is it.
This is the angel of death, man.
It's the big one, sister.
I'm going home.
And I was so scared, I couldn't even talk.
I'm just going, and I'm walking backwards.
I hit the wall.
I slid to the floor and I slid to the floor and I'm thinking, why is the demon of death wearing a skirt?
We had a garage door that didn't open.
I had to, and it was cold.
She's a Florida girl.
We'd moved to Colorado.
It was freezing cold.
So I'd pull up in the driveway.
Leave her in the warm car.
I'd run in the house, go around to the garage, and I would have to open the garage door.
And every single time, every time, I'm trying to be a good husband, I'm going to drive her into the garage where it's warm and she can go right in the house.
Every single time I opened that garage, she would lay on the horn.
I would just, every time, every single time.
Except one time she didn't, and I opened it up and I was ready for it too.
And then she didn't, and I'm like, and I started walking to the car.
And then I just got, it got me again.
Listen, you need to learn to laugh.
But you know what laughter is without God?
It's a temporary reprieve.
So many comedians, so many people who give themselves to making other people laugh have lonely and depressed hearts.
I mean, men like Jim Carrey, men like Robin Williams.
Some of these people who were the funniest people on the planet were just using humor to mask their deep pain.
And it could never fix it.
Solomon said, you know what?
Pleasure is not the way.
You can party yourself to death.
And that's just what you get.
Emptiness. Vanity.
I'll hustle through this one, but number three.
Solomon chose another path.
Education wasn't it.
Pleasure wasn't it.
So look what he gave himself to.
Look at verse four.
Look at the pride and arrogance here.
Are you ready?
Look at the personal pronouns.
I made me great works.
I builded me houses.
I planted me vineyards.
I made me gardens and orchards and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit.
I made me pools of water to water there with the wood that bring a four trees.
I got me servants and maidens and had servants born in my house.
I also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me.
Let me tell you what Solomon did.
Watch this carefully.
Education wasn't cutting it.
He was more empty than ever before.
Pleasure left him empty and longing for more.
So he gave himself to ambition.
I'm going to build something.
I'm going to build houses.
And man, what a builder he was.
Solomon was an amazing builder.
He's 20 years in building the temple and his own house.
The temple became one of the wonders of the world.
It was an amazing edifice.
It was an incredible artifact.
I mean, the way that they cut the stones, the furniture that was in it, it was unbelievable the beauty of that temple.
And then Solomon spent 13 years building his own house.
Spared no expense.
Built one of the daughters of Pharaoh that he had married a summer home up in the forests of Lebanon.
Then he went down and he rebuilt the city of Hezor.
Then he went down and he built another city of Beth Horan and the city of Gezer and the city of Hauser.
And then out in the wilderness, he built the city of Tenor.
You can still go to some of these places and see them.
I mean, Solomon built massive cities.
And listen, these were places that were filled with intricate detail.
Edifices, spared no expense, shipped in limestone and marble from all over the east and brought them in to build these buildings.
I mean, Solomon had everything.
He wasn't just planting gardens.
He was planting vineyards and he was planting forests.
He was creating incredible water systems to build these forests up, to water these forests.
I mean, when he said in verse number 6 that I made any pools of water, they've uncovered down in the desert, down there by...
By one of the cities that Solomon had built, Solomon built these massive pools of water, numbers of them, and they believe that these are the ones that Solomon built.
They were 420 feet long, 230 feet wide, 50 feet deep.
Out in the desert, pools of water, massive amounts of water filled with all kinds of fish that watered all the vegetation and all these forests and all of the vineyards.
And listen, Solomon built all of this.
He just got himself, he had resources, he got himself ambitious and just said, I'm going to build.
Now listen, there's nothing wrong with that.
I wish to God that God would raise up some young people again and out of our church that have a desire to go do something with their life, build something with your life.
It's good.
You ought to get a vision.
You ought to have a dream.
You ought to be a builder and build a business and build a family and build a home and build things with your life.
Do something with your life.
Get some God-filled goals in your life to do something and set out to do it.
But Solomon built to build.
He could stand back at the end of the day and see the things that he had built.
And it was nothing.
Because it was built without God.
And for his own heart.
Building wasn't it.
Ambition wasn't it.
I want to just tell you right now.
Listen. Many CEOs who fly around this country in private planes.
Who dine at the nicest restaurants.
Stay in the nicest hotels.
Have built great businesses.
I will tell you this.
I know this for a fact.
Many of them have to go to coaching sessions on how to deal with anxiety How to deal with stress.
How to manage all of their emotions.
Many of them, right in our backyard, when I pastored in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, right in our backyard, was a place called Pine Grove.
And it was one of the largest and most well-equipped rehabilitation centers for CEOs and for successful people.
That's where Tiger Woods went when he had his sexual addiction and all of his problems that he ran into many years ago.
They flew him into Pine Grove, and that's where he was to rehabilitate.
I tried on several occasions to go see him, made it through several layers of the onion, right up to his people, and left a letter with them.
I was really hoping one day that...
He would win the Masters and say, I've got to give credit to this pastor in Mississippi.
I got saved.
I'm sending a tithe check to him.
It never happened.
But anyway.
But how sad!
You have millions of dollars, Tom Brady.
You've won every kind of...
You've done the Grand Slam, Tiger Woods.
You're the pinnacle of your sport.
The prowess of athletic ability.
And yet, empty.
I've seen pastors do it.
I've seen some of these churches where these pastors set themselves into attractional ministry and we're going to design stages and we're going to put on shows and we're going to get people to come and I'm going to work on my oratory and I'm going to give people positive things and I'm going to really build, I'm going to become a well-known speaker and we're going to grow something and they grow mega churches,
thousands of people, major ministries and then you find out they've been in sin.
Because just to build something, to build it, to look at your success, will never satisfy you.
There are all kinds of things.
There are marketing things.
There are techniques that I could employ in this church to build a big church.
We could do all kinds of things.
And we could try to get thousands of people to come.
And we could do it.
But I will tell you something.
It would never satisfy me.
It won't satisfy me.
Not against building.
Not against doing it better.
Not against work.
All of that is what God gave us to do, but it won't satisfy by itself.
Lastly, here's his last path.
So what do you do when you know everything?
Listen to me.
What do you do when you've done everything?
All right, we'll be back.
All right.

that a man can't.
You can imagine.
You have learned it all, you have done it all, and you have built everything that you've set your mind to build.
From the temple for God, to cities, to palaces for your wives.
What do you do?
You have filled all of this with servants, you've filled all of this with all your people.
What do you do?
Well, in verse number 7, He said, I got me men servants.
Notice that word got me.
I acquired me men servants and maidens and servants born in my house.
I also had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me.
I gathered me also silver and gold and the peculiar treasures of kings and the provinces.
I got me men singers and women singers and the delights of the sons of men as musical instruments and that of all sorts.
So I was great and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem.
Also my wisdom remained with me.
Yeah, right.
Yeah, right.
Solomon was no longer wise.
He had become a clever devil.
Education without God will not make you wise.
It'll just make you a more clever sinner.
Partying and all these things without God, there was no wisdom in that.
All the things that Solomon had done and what he had been around, yet my wisdom remained to me.
Yeah. Verse number 10. The last thing that Solomon gave himself to,
listen, he gave himself to acquisition.
I got me this.
I got me that.
I got me this.
If you and I needed friends, we'd have to go out and become friendly and find some friends.
Not Solomon.
Solomon went out and bought them.
He filled his palaces with people so he could be around people.
He had singers of every kind.
He had everything.
And listen, he just started acquiring everything.
Nothing that he could see that he thought, you know, I want that.
I got it.
He bought art.
He bought new chariots.
He bought more cattle.
He bought peacocks and apes.
And he had the money to do it.
He just began to count his money, began to count his material things.
He became a materialist.
I'll just have more things.
The Bible tells us that Solomon had ships that came in every year, laid it down with gold.
Listen to this very carefully.
The ships that came from charges every year.
Listen, 25 tons of gold every year.
I looked in at what that was worth in today's dollars.
25 tons of gold in today's dollars.
On Monday, it was like 2.3 billion.
By Wednesday it was like 2.8 billion.
The fluctuation of our markets.
But on average it was about 2.3 billion dollars annually just in gold.
Not counting the silver.
Not counting all the precious stones and all the other precious treasures that he was getting from all these other kings.
Listen to me.
Solomon had massive wealth.
Billions of dollars.
He made silver to be so plentiful in Jerusalem.
The Bible says it was more plentiful than stones.
You would have a better chance of stepping on money than stones in Israel.
I mean, Solomon had everything.
Got all of it.
He just had stuff.
Benjamin Franklin said, a man has never achieved happiness through money and never will.
Young Rockefeller was eaten up with all kinds of ulcers and he had a horrible digestive system and he was fading away.
And he was working feverishly.
And the man had...
More money than anybody in his lifetime.
And people asked him, how much more is enough?
And he said, a little bit more.
It was when J.D. Rockefeller realized that giving was actually the blessing and he became a philanthropist and he began to give.
He began to fund missions and church work and he had a come to Jesus meeting in his life.
His health improved.
His way of life improved.
His family improved.
You can go back and read the story.
That man began to do more with his money.
He began to try to give it away as fast as he could.
You know why?
He found out that acquiring never satisfies.
I mean, just walk around your house sometime and look at all the stuff that you have to move one day.
Go up in your attic or in your crawl space or out to the shed and all the stuff that somebody has to pilfer through when you're gone.
And they're going to be like, what is this?
And your ghost is going to be like, it was my favorite thing.
Well, we're throwing that out.
I mean, listen, someone's going to go through your treasures one day and throw it all out.
Solomon is going to say this later.
He's like, I'm going to live, I'm going to acquire, I'm going to die, and somebody else is going to enjoy what I have.
It's all empty and vanity.
Education didn't do it.
Pleasure didn't do it.
Ambition didn't do it.
Acquisition didn't do it.
A dad took his little boy to the pet shop one day and said, son, I'm going to buy you a puppy.
That was his first mistake.
But the little boy got there and he began to press his little nose against all the little windows and look at all them puppies in there.
And he went one by one by one by one looking at all those puppies.
Up and down he went.
And his dad said, come on, son.
Which one are you going to do?
And he said, just a minute.
And he just kept looking, kept looking.
And he kept going back to this one window.
And he'd peek in there.
And there was this little dog.
It was not real cute, kind of ugly.
But that dog, every time that boy would peek in, that little tail on that dog would just go crazy.
And it was the tail wagging the whole dog.
And he said, I want that one.
And his dad said, why that one?
He said, because he has a happy ending.
You know what everyone is looking for in life?
We're looking for a happy ending.
We want a life that's going to give us a happy ending.
Solomon came to the end of his life.
He wrote a book when he was young and in love, The Song of Solomon.
He wrote a book as a middle-aged man, teaching his children the book of Proverbs.
And then he wrote a book when he was old.
At the futility of life, Solomon had everything.
But he didn't have a happy ending.
And I'll tell you why he didn't.
When we get to the conclusion of the whole thing, he's going to say, remember now your creator.
Solomon was living life in the horizontal.
He was not living life in the vertical.
Listen to what I'm going to say right now.
I'm going to tie the whole message up and we're going to go home.
Listen to me carefully.
Education will never satisfy you, but watch this.
God wants you to learn.
He wants you to be educated.
He wants you to grow in your knowledge.
But listen, everything that we learn, It's just rediscovering what God has already done.
All of our science is just kind of discovering what God has made.
And it's exploring the mysteries of the universe.
Our education should glorify God.
Our education should make us see more of God.
And we need to put God in the middle of it.
Pleasure. God in the presence of God is...
Is the joy and in his right hand are pleasures forevermore.
God knows how to give people pleasure.
God knows how to make you enjoy life.
But pleasure apart from God is empty.
But God plus pleasure is satisfaction.
In other words, here's what I want to say.
In all of our acquisition, in all of our ambition, in all of our pleasure, in all of our education, watch this very carefully.
None of it's for you.
Solomon started off with the wrong thing.
He said, I was king.
When he should have said, I am a steward.
All right, we'll be back.

Bye. There's something happening here What it is ain't exactly clear There's a man with a gun over there Telling me I've got to beware.
I think it's time we stop.
Children, what's that sign?
Everybody look what's going down.
I am a manager of the things that God has given me.
And I want to steward this for God.
What could Solomon have done with that wealth for God?
What could he have done with his wisdom for God?
What could Solomon have done with his pursuits for God?
How many of those godless nations who were idol worshippers and demon worshippers who had come to learn from Solomon could have gone away knowing about God?
And yet, over and over and over in this book, when Solomon references God, when Solomon talks about God, he doesn't use the word Yahweh.
The covenant name of God, the relationship name of God, the personal name of God that Israel knew Him by, the God of the burning bush, the God of the Red Sea, the God of the Passover, the God of the wilderness, the God of bringing Him into Canaan, the God who makes promises and loves His people, the God who knows us and made us and made us to know Him.
He never used that name, not once in the book of Ecclesiastes.
It's always Elohim.
You say, well, what's wrong with that?
That is the God of the general.
That's like people saying today, there's an intelligent designer out there.
We don't know who he is, but we know there's a force out there, a knowledge out there.
There's somebody out there.
It's the unknown God.
It's the force of the universe.
It's the big man upstairs.
It's the people think about him as some untouchable, unknowable, invisible, apart from my life.
I'm living my life down here and I have nothing to do with him up there.
That's what Solomon was doing.
His whole life was lived under this son apart from God when he could have been a steward of the things that God had put in his hand.
Think about what God has put in your hand.
Steward that for God.
Build that business for God.
Build that family for God.
Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain to build it.
Except the Lord do it.
God has called me to be a steward.
What God gives me, I give to him.
David learned it the hard way, didn't he?
David was a faithful steward.
He was a shepherd.
He was a shepherd king.
David did not become arrogant in his kingdom until later in his life.
And then David said, I'm king, I can take what I want.
Oh, he ruined his life.
Saul of Tarshish.
He was a man full of education.
He was a Pharisee of the Pharisees.
He was a man who knew the Old Testament law better than anybody.
Saul said, I had acquired all these things, but here's what he said.
I count all those things but dung, that I may win the excellency of him.
I want to know him!
I want to know him.
And I'll tell you, when Paul said, Lord, what will you have me to do?
And put everything in God's hand and became a steward of what God had given him.
All of that Jewish knowledge that he had filtered into the book of Romans and the book of Corinthians and the book of Galatians.
And we are enriched today because what God had given him, he used to God and gave it to God and God used it mightily.
That's why at the end of Paul's life, he said, I am now ready to be offered.
Henceforth has laid up for me a crown of rejoicing.
He had a happy ending.
If you want to have a happy ending today, put everything you've got into God's hand.
Let your pleasures come from Him.
Let your education glorify Him.
Let your ambition glorify Him.
Let all your acquisition be for Him.
Give your life to Him.
Alright, we're going to take a break.
Come back.

Okay, so we're back, and of course it's Monday.
We're starting off with some interesting news that a lot of people are talking about.
What's been kind of going viral on the internet, you know, is this trade war with China.
And it's been going viral for a few weird reasons.
One is, obviously, you know, the...
Fake news is writing story after story, making it seem as though Trump is trying to destroy America, right?
60 Minutes and CBS running fake news segments over the weekend trying to put the fear of you-know-what in people.
And here's the whole thing, right?
You're going to understand, hopefully, by the time I'm done explaining this, why the fake news is so...
Intent upon creating this narrative to dissuade people from wanting to support Trump in his battle against China with imposing these tariffs.
And who the tariffs are really directed at, right?
It's going to be an interesting, fun ride, I think, if we hang on here for a minute.
But the story is as follows, you know.
President Trump has these tariffs that have been levied against China.
The battle has been ramping up.
Every time we raise the tariff, China raises their tariff, and it's seeming to be a battle.
But again, China being the surplus country, it means that it's a different story for them.
They need us more than we need them.
And that's just the truth.
No matter how many people want to say, oh, well, you know, the U.S. only accounts for 15% of Chinese exports and da-da-da-da-da.
But in the—I don't even know if that's an accurate number.
But the truth is that in this battle, we are in a different position.
Yes, we depend on China for, you know, tchotchkes that we buy at Walmart.
You know, cheap hangers and, you know, cheap electronics and things like that.
But ultimately, what it seems to be a battle of is a battle against these exploitative corporations, how they've destroyed America.
And I think that's what Trump's going after.
And I think that's why the fake news is losing their mind, because you've got to remember.
What drives the fake news?
What keeps it going?
Why is it so powerful?
It's money.
Where does the money come from?
They're not making money off of writing fake news articles.
They're not making money off of doing actual journalism.
They're making money off of selling advertisers.
Selling advertisements to corporations, I should say more specifically.
Every time you see a commercial for Nike or this brand or that brand or this luxury brand or that luxury brand, that's all billions of dollars that goes into these fake news organizations and keeps them afloat and keeps them profitable and keeps them able to control the narrative.
Now, the byproduct of that, of course, is the infiltration we see, mockingbird media, etc., etc.
But ultimately, The fuel that runs the engine is advertising.
And this is where it gets interesting.
Because people are pointing out, and I think rightfully so, that what we're seeing with these tariffs is an interesting situation that's arising.
One thing that's been happening over the weekend, if nobody's been noticing, if you haven't been on social media, God bless you.
Your life's probably ten times better than mine, because even though I don't get on it often, I have to check it, and that's a horrific thing to do.
But I hate social media.
Listen, one day I'm going to stop doing this, I'm sure.
God will have me doing something else, I'm sure, unless I keep doing this forever, which I hope not.
Although, I'm not going to get ahead of myself.
Who knows?
I let God guide me.
But if I'm ever off this, I'm off social media altogether because it is poison.
And the only reason I'm on is because I have to report on this stuff.
So you don't have to if you don't want to.
Which I'm glad to take that bullet, I guess, because it helps those out there who need it.
But what's been going viral on social media over the weekend is Chinese...
Export manufacturers basically exposing the fact that the markup on these designer clothes and designer handbags and designer shoes is insane.
And that the tariffs are not on the price that you think they're on.
They're not really being...
Put on Chinese manufacturers as much as they're put on big corporations and their markup.
And they are the ones who are freaking out now because it's not that big a deal for them.
But it is a big deal if you think about in the aggregate, right?
Because that's what Trump's going after, the aggregate.
But on an individual level, these corporations are facing a crisis.
And we'll talk about it when we come back.
Generally speaking, for instance, there's video after video after video online where you have, and this has somehow become a viral trend on Chinese TikTok, where you have plant and factory owners explaining that $38,000
Birkin bag, which is apparently a high-end brand of purse that I'd never heard of, It costs $38,000 in a U.S. retail store.
Well, you know how much it costs them to make?
About $1,400.
Yeah. So that's the kind of thing they're exposing.
Stay tuned.
We're coming back.
Okay, I've been hearing a lot about the LifeWave patches, and they sound amazing.
And I'm thinking I want to try them for myself.
But can you tell me how they work?
Okay, well, you wear the patch, which is about the size of a quarter, 12 hours a day, 12 on, 12 off.
And the patch uses your body's own light and energy and copper peptides to reactivate the dormant stem cells in your body.
Once a stem cell has been reactivated, it can be used by any of the cells in your body that need it, creating a healing and growth process you haven't experienced since your youth.
So in a nutshell, This is how the LifeWave X39 patch works.

Why does it seem America is slowly sinking?
Whose fault is it?
It's not Biden, Obama or Trump.
It's not the Democrats or Republicans.
It's not the military, corporations or foreign countries.
It's the Federal Reserve.
A central banking system made up of private bankers that corrupt and control virtually all aspects of the world's money supply and the economy.
All of the major problems of the world can be traced back to the Federal Reserve and central banks of other countries.

I'm your host, Craig James.
And we're kind of talking about this trend that's happened over the weekend where Chinese TikTok went crazy.
The export manufacturing business, right, that supplies all of these big corporations, whether it's Nike or Coach or Gucci or Birkin or you name the high-end designer brand,
right? The majority of this stuff is manufactured for pennies on the dollar in China and then shipped to the United States and sold at an extreme markup.
And what they're saying during this Chinese TikTok trend is that the tariffs are simply a way for U.S. manufacturers to...
Basically, it's simply a way that Trump is putting a tax on these corporations and their markups and their exploitation of cheap labor in China.
And they're encouraging people to circumvent the tariffs by essentially buying direct from the Chinese manufacturers for a fraction of the cost as if they bought it in retail.
And China's basically pulled back the restrictions on it because...
Formerly, what China had made a deal or arrangement with these U.S. corporations and these European manufacturers, etc., was that China would make their products for cheap using high-quality stuff,
but not the price that they're charging, right?
Like, the example I gave was that there was a purse, a Birkin bag, that I guess these retail for like $30,000, $40,000, and really it costs about $1,200 to make one, right?
So, you see the markup there.
That's insane.
First of all, whoever pays $30,000 or $40,000 for a bag is crazy.
You know, I go to the store.
I, you know, buy a nice bag for my wife, and it's a leather bag, really nice.
Not really, not a name brand, just a nice leather, genuine, high-quality leather bag.
I mean, that's like $300.
And I feel like that's expensive.
I'm like, that's insane.
That's a lot of money.
But I understand, you know, there's craftsmanship.
There's leather.
It's made in America.
It's, you know, da-da-da-da-da.
Whatever. I'm willing to pay it.
Right? For a nice product that'll last years.
Right? But these people paying $30,000, $40,000 for a bag.
That's insane.
Right? That's insane.
But Chinese TikTok's gone viral with these videos of these manufacturers saying...
Well, you know, you can buy the exact same bag, and they're going through it piece by piece.
They're saying they're using the high-quality leather.
They're using the high-quality zippers.
They're using the high-quality, you know, stainless steel plating for all the attachments and stuff.
They're saying, basically, the only thing they don't have is the symbol, like the brand name, right?
So it doesn't say Birkin on it.
It doesn't say...
Gucci on it, but it is exactly the same because it's where it's manufactured, right?
So they're saying, well, you know, why don't you just buy directly from us and circumvent the corporate markup and pay the tariff, but even paying the tariff by buying it direct is going to be thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than buying it from the retailer with the tariff.
And this is something China's basically opened the floodgates and said, okay, you know, if this is how they're going to play it, then we're just going to stop honoring their, you know, trademark agreements and their patents and all the other stuff.
Which they weren't really honoring in the first place anyway to begin with, but this seems to be the trend.
And I'm like, okay, that's interesting.
And I'm watching this all kind of unfold.
I mean, it's like video after video after video.
It was an odd viral trend.
And, you know, I've already said, my opinion is that the internet is completely curated.
All social media, all the algorithms are ran by AIs that tailor it specifically to your individual experience.
So there's no unique...
There is no...
Singular experience we all have together.
We all get tailored, custom versions of the world presented to us to form and shape our opinion per whatever the influence operation is at hand, if that makes sense.
So I don't know, maybe I'm the only one seeing this, but I saw video after video after video of it, and it seemed to be sort of a trend that was going viral.
And so you watch this and you're like, okay, that's interesting.
That's interesting.
So you have all these export manufacturers sitting there telling you, why don't you just buy straight from us?
They even were videos explaining how you can avoid the tariffs altogether by going directly to China and, you know, doing this, what is it called?
It was personal shopping assistant type deal and then declaring all of the things you buy as personal items and then it's not technically, it can't be taxed in terraform and then you can bring it back and sell it for a, you know, a pretty good...
So they're doing everything they can to sort of work this into the...
To work this into the idea of Americans that, you know, A, they're saying come to China and buy our cheap crap and circumvent the tariffs.
B, they're also saying the expensive crap you buy is way cheaper than you think, and it's all made here anyway, so just buy it from us, pay the tariff, and circumvent the, you know, 1,200% markup or whatever that these fancy brands are doing,
which we all knew that, right?
I mean, am I crazy in assuming that you guys were as aware of this as I was?
Like, you are literally, when you go to the store, if it's a nice store, if it's like Coach or Louis Vuitton, most of the time, and sometimes there's some different places where it's a little bit higher end,
but like nine times out of ten, you're literally just paying for that name brand.
You know?
There's like a thousand different brands that do it.
You're paying the markup.
The markup is, oh, this is a coach bag.
Oh, fancy.
You're just a fancy person, right?
Or Louis Vuitton or Gucci or whatever.
But I think that there's something funny about how this is working out.
And it looks like what's becoming apparent is, I mean, the tariffs are across the board.
So there are a lot of things.
There are some.
Points where, as I understand it, Trump's made exceptions.
For instance, with like smartphones and laptops, that kind of stuff, where I don't think the tariffs apply.
But that even goes further to the point that I found on this video.
Somebody put this up online and I thought, man, this guy's making a good point.
He basically explains how the Chinese producers are exposing who Trump's really putting this tariff on.
Right? Because, for instance, if it's a 25% tariff, just using some round numbers here, and he explains this in his video, and it costs $10 to make, that's a $2.50 tariff that they're paying.
Right? But then if they charge $1,200 when it gets to America, or let's say that they charge $100, they've only paid $2.50 extra, $2.50, and they still have their whatever the markup is, eight times markup.
Or nine times markup.
And even if they pass that cost onto you, it doesn't matter.
So I want to play this video, though, because this guy explains it fairly well.
Let's listen to this.
Chinese producers are all over social media right now, and they're exposing just who is targeted by Trump's tariffs.
And it's not the American consumers, and it's not the Chinese producers.
It's actually our international corporations who have sold out American prosperity for their own profits.
Let me illustrate.
Let's use this example of Nike.
Now, these are fictitious numbers just for example.
But let's say that Nike buys shoes from this company that manufactures Nike shoes for $10 a Nike shoe, which isn't very far off.
Nike turns around and sells that shoe at retail for $100.
Here's the interesting part about tariffs.
You're not paying tariffs on the retail price.
This is not a tax in the classic sense.
The way the economists who are bought and paid for are trying to conflate it as.
It is a tax on the import.
This means with a 25% tariff, Nike's going to have to pay $2.50 to the U.S. government every time it imports a Nike shoe at $10.
So this $2.50 gets remitted to the American government, to American citizens.
Now Nike's cost...
$10 for the shoe, $2.50 for the import tax.
This means they're netting $87 per shoe.
Now that's net, not profit.
There are going to be other costs that are going to have to come from that.
But you can see that the increase in cost is $2.50.
So let's say that Nike passes the entire cost onto the consumer, even a little more, just because of the fear of tariffs.
$103 a shoe now.
That is the impact of a 25% tariff.
So what the Chinese producers on TikTok are saying, instead of the American consumer buying it for $103, or let's just say that the company Nike eats all $2.50 of the tariff and still sells it for $100, you're way better off over here paying directly to China,
including the tariff, $12.50 a shoe plus shipping.
So as you can see, the tariffs are not meant to hurt consumers.
They're not meant to hurt China.
They don't really affect China.
At all.
They're meant to protect American industry.
They're meant to protect Americans from their corporations who will sell them out for a profit.
So if you look hard, you'll notice that the people who are screaming about how bad tariffs are for consumers, it's these companies right here.
It's Wall Street.
It's all the investors in these companies.
Because they don't want American citizens to realize these companies have sold them out and that they're not doing Americans any favors.
Yeah, I think that guy made a good point.
I mean, it's a reasonable point to say that if these tariffs are directed at anyone, it's more overly directed at these companies that have been exploiting the cheap manufacturing in China.
And that's the thing.
When we say exploitation, I often, in my mind, conjure the idea that it's like a one-way street.
So, like, they're just doing it to an issue.
I have to remind myself, it's not just them exploiting the cheap labor of China.
They're then turning around and selling us this extreme markup for what?
For being the middleman?
For having a guy who knows a guy in China?
That's literally what we're paying hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in markup for.
And I'm not even saying we should just go to direct purchase from China.
I am a believer in America.
I'm a believer in American manufacturing and industry.
And, you know, it's funny.
I see a lot of interesting comments, right?
Some of the commentary has been like, well, you know, we don't have the manufacturing, so what are we complaining about?
Or they'll say something like, well, you know, we're too lazy.
Americans, and there's like viral videos like of, you know, Americans in sweatshops and doing this labor.
But the truth is, at what point do we realize that cheap and easy is not good?
Like, it to me is kind of like one of those things where, yeah, you're going to have to work hard.
Like, it's going to be a hard path.
There's not going to be some easy, get-rich-quick-scheme-fix-it-all solution, which, for some reason, we've been, like, trained as a population to believe that everything in life should be easy and just hear, you know, oh, yeah, everything should be $2.
You know, people complain when the dollar store went from being, you know, everything was $1 to now everything's like $5.
You know, but they didn't care because it's still five bucks.
You know, hey, whatever.
But they didn't realize why the price was increasing, or they didn't care to realize it.
And they also didn't care to think, well, what is going to happen in the future as all this stuff keeps getting more expensive, and our wages keep stagnating or going down, and our national security is threatened when China decides that it doesn't want to refine our rare earth minerals.
I mean, we need to bring it back home.
I know it's not easy.
I know it's going to be tough.
I know people are going to have to work hard, and it's going to be a lot of real difficult labor involved in changing our consumption patterns.
But I'm optimistic.
I think we can do it.
It might not be easy, but what in life that's worth having is easy?
Ever. Exactly.
Stay tuned.
We're coming back.

KHNC.com Welcome
back to Just Form Talk Radio.
I'm your host, Craig James.
And just to kind of wrap up one of the stories here, to give you an idea of what's happening, you know, we have China halting rare earth exports to the United States, which, of course, is going to hurt supply chains when it comes to cars or semiconductors or aerospace industries.
You know, a lot of their rare earth exports are from the refinery, though.
That's what I found interesting.
I kind of figured this out over the weekend.
One of the things that people often don't understand or know, which I wasn't really fully aware of this, I kind of had an idea of it, but it was made more clear to me over the last weekend, was that, you know, we know rare earths are abundant in every...
We have rare earth minerals here, we have rare earth minerals in many countries across the globe, and it's not that the resources themselves are that rare, I mean, although they are called rare earth minerals, so they're...
Rare enough to be in scarcity, but they're not, like, rare as in can't be found anywhere.
But that China's got one of the largest refining industries.
And a lot of what they produce and sell abroad are refined rare earth minerals, which are, it's a whole different beast because then you're talking about needing infrastructure and you need factories and you need operations running with skilled experts on how to do it.
And this is something that they've been...
Threatening to withhold, and now they're halting.
Exports of seven critical rare earth elements, the United States.
They're going to try to disrupt our supply chains and this sort of tit for tat.
Some of the, I can't even pronounce some of these names, but the rare earth elements include dysprosium, terbium, lutetium.
A lot of these are essential for high-performance magnets, which are used in electric cars, advanced weaponry, and consumer electronics.
This is all following President Trump announcing the imposition of a 145% tariff on Chinese imports, which has prompted Beijing to include new trade barriers and a 125% tariff on U.S. goods.
And the current rare earth halting of exports.
So, we are relying on China in this regard.
They account for 60% of global rare earth production.
And rare earth production, I mean, with the refining and all.
And nearly 90% of the processing in the refining process, right?
So, that's, you know.
Obviously, like I was saying, 60% of the rare earth production, but then 90% of the refining, the processing.
This is pretty interesting, but think of it this way.
Think of it this way.
If we don't go through this now, when?
Never? Do you want to live in a country where we wake up 10 years from now and we all have to learn Mandarin because China is the new and we trade our currency for yuans so we can make deals abroad?
And look, I'm no fan of the big Federal Reserve Bank.
I'm no fan of it all.
But we've been put in such a position that the answers are not as simple as some people like to make them.
And I mean that in the sense that, yeah, I want to change the fiat currency, get rid of it.
But you don't do that overnight.
You do it over time.
If you did it overnight, you could.
It'd just be very difficult.
Life would be very difficult.
If it lost the world reserve currency status, that would make our economy quite susceptible to, Turmoil.
It's the same thing with the China thing.
This is actually slow.
I mean, I guess the scenario that could play out is we go to war with China and then they cut off all trade.
And then we have real economic problems here.
Like serious ones where people can't eat and things get out of hand quickly.
And then, you know, countries are...
Forced to pick sides.
And who knows?
A lot of the other countries we rely on may choose our side.
They may choose China's side.
Who knows?
Where would India go?
I mean, presumably they would come to the United States.
But they also have a problem with, you know, geography and all.
There's so many questions.
I'm not an expert on all this by any means.
I try to think it all out and wargame it and try to understand it, but boy, it is a much more complicated situation than most people even want to admit.
And that's why I know for a fact that you see these people on the street protesting with their signs about how evil Trump is and how bad tariffs are.
They don't know the first thing about economics, tariffs, or anything in between.
It's a lot to handle.
So let's get a couple of texts in.
Somebody from the 970 said this, Hey Craig, you just gave me a great idea.
Once the bottom drops out of the market, I'll have to buy some cheap Birkenstocks.
That's a clever pun.
I'll give credit where it's due.
I think it's a play on the Birkin bag versus the Birkin stock shoes and stock being something you trade on the market.
I get it.
That's funny.
I give credit where it's due.
That's kind of funny.
Also, someone from the 720 texted in and said...
Plus, China does not have the regulations that America has to protect the environment so they can dump most toxins into the atmosphere without backlash.
And in America, it's regulated so no factories want to be here because the fines are astronomical.
Yeah, I mean, it's not going to be easy.
I mean, that's a lot of what we've paid China to do is to pollute their own country.
And trust me when I say it is polluted.
They have problems.
A lot of areas in China are highly polluted.
A lot of corners are cut.
It's actually a very common thing in Chinese culture to pay off government officials to turn a blind eye while you dump, you know, radioactive waste into the water or into the land.
And then there's, you know...
They dump it in the environment around the factory, and then there's people living all around the factory who have farms, who grow vegetables, and then take the vegetables and sell them in the market, you know, the wet markets and the dry markets or whatever.
And they end up poisoning the population because there's no regulation or oversight.
And that's just one example.
And you could argue we went through that period here in the United States.
Heck, we still have problems like that to this day.
Remember East Palestine, Ohio?
And the toxic cloud that was unleashed upon them?
But, as the texture pointed out, there's regulations, there's fines, there's controls.
And there are those things in China.
Don't fool yourself into thinking that China doesn't have it.
It's just whether or not China enforces it is very selective.
Meaning, if it's a company that is in good with the Communist Party, most likely they'll turn a blind eye to it.
But if it's a company that's kind of on the...
The Chinese Communist Party's you-know-what list, their S-list, S-H-you-know-what list, then they may suffer very severe fines.
They may be put out of business.
And so this is the system that we're working with here.
So, when we come back, I want to get into some other stories and maybe get my voice back here for a minute.
Dang allergies.
I love spring in Colorado.
It's supposed to snow next week.
How about that?
Anyway, stay tuned.

Hi, this is Joe Jaquin, owner of the Patriot Trading Group.
I'm sure you're probably aware of the reputations of many of the precious metals dealers here in the front range.
I talk to customers all the time that know gold and silver are strong investments, that they are a hedge against a volatile economy.
But these customers don't know where to buy gold and silver and are very justifiably concerned that they'll get ripped off.
So I want to make you this promise.
At Patriot Trading Group, there are no commission sales.
We don't make outbound phone calls.
We don't try to upsell you into some scam or package that we created.
We don't disclose your information to anyone ever.
The majority of our business comes from referrals and long-time repeat customers.
If you're looking to learn about or invest in precious metals, give us a call at 800-951-0592 or go to allamericangold.com.

Welcome back to Just Forum Talk Radio.
I am your host, Craig James.
And, you know, I was saying earlier how I was going to tie this all together and just give you an idea of why the corporate media is really freaking out over it.
It's, you know, there are a number of reasons, right?
We all know they have the, you know, Trump derangement syndrome, the predisposed.
You know, agitation that comes with being an anchor on these networks where it's like, oh, you know, you're just so mad at Trump.
You got to be angry at everyone and everything.
But it goes well.
It goes into advertising, too.
Like, the dollars, like, if these corporations get hurt, then they're not going to have money to spend on advertising.
They're going to lose that ability to fund the fake news, you know, apparatus.
And it will have this sort of trickle-down effect that, you know, they see as a threat.
That in of itself is reason enough for them to say, you know, Trump's this evil, you know, malignant person who's going to be, you know, destroying the entire country.
Look, Trump or not, I hate to burst everyone's bubble, especially on the left who hate Trump.
Whether Trump was there or not, they were going to destroy this country.
It was already on that path.
I mean, Obama and Biden and Bush.
They were already well on a path to destroying it.
At minimum, with Trump, you're at least getting some return on investment.
You're at least getting some transparency.
You're at least getting some progress in the direction that may help right the ship somewhat.
But the path was already laid.
It's clear.
It's like slowing down a freight train and then trying to make it...
Do a 180 simultaneously.
Well, that's impossible.
You can slow it down and maybe have it start, you know, backing up.
But trains on tracks, the tracks go one direction.
The train decides which direction to go.
You can't just flip it around and go the other way.
You gotta just back it up.
So, that's what I see.
And I'm pragmatically realistic about it all.
I don't have any delusions about, you know...
Trump or any other single person that's going to come in and fix everything and save everyone.
I don't believe that for one second.
What I do believe is that there are people who come along every now and then who, if you give them time and you give them, you know, some aid, they can make a difference for the better.
Right? That's kind of the way I see Trump.
You know, I see him working towards some things that I agree with and I think are good for our country.
Do I like the way he handles everything?
Probably not.
Some stuff I disagree with him on, surely.
For instance, his views on, you know, abortions and his, you know, sort of not so strong position on Second Amendment.
There are other things, but it's not a list of things I don't like about Trump.
It's more overly a list of things that I see, you know, Trump doing both good and bad that I think are worth, you know, you encourage and you congratulate and you get somebody to keep doing the things that are good and you tell them what they do that's bad.
So here's what it is, though.
The fake news losing their mind.
Sunday night, they had another explosive chapter in this battle with the fake news.
Apparently, 60 Minutes was running deliberately false reports in order to take down Trump, right?
So this is all, I think, referencing back to when...
Kamala Harris had the nonsensical answer to a question, and then they replaced it with a completely separate thing.
And they basically reworked the episode to make her sound intelligent, which is not an easy thing to do.
You've got to give credit where it's due.
To make Kamala sound intelligent is a difficult task, which they endeavored upon.
But recently...
CBS is now considering settling a $10 billion lawsuit brought by Trump because of this deceptively edited 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris.
This is being reported by CNN.
There are discussions of a potential settlement, which have sparked outrage in the newsroom.
I mean, these are the same people who sat down and were like...
We're going to go ahead and basically, Kamala sounds like a moron, so we're just going to take and rework and edit the entire thing together to make it sound intelligent when it wasn't.
And they're losing their minds over it.
And they're also fearful that this lawsuit could derail the high-profile merger talks that are happening over there in CBS.
I guess the Skydance media is looking at it.
Trump went on social media, though, and said something very funny.
He said, I just finished watching 60 Minutes, the fake news show that was scandalously responsible for removing a terrible and incompetently delivered answer by failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris to an interview on 60 Minutes just prior to Election Day and putting in its place a completely different answer to a completely different question or to make Kamala look Coherent.
Now, tonight, with two separate but highly inaccurate stories about Trump, they're at it again.
The people at CBS Fake News just don't get it.
So they ran a couple stories.
I think one was about Greenland.
I think the other one was about tariffs.
So, I mean, look.
Their interest, as I said before, they're all self-serving, right, at the end of the day.
And you could even probably say the same about Trump, and people will say, well, who do you think he's serving?
I think he's self-serving in the sense that, you know, he's got a family, they have a business, you know.
He wants his family to have prosperity and happiness, and that includes the American dream.
Some people scoff at that.
That's fine.
That's my opinion.
But... What are the interests of these big corporate media companies?
Well, you know, they want to control the narrative.
They want to enrich themselves off of advertising.
They want to exploit the American public.
In the same way, think of it this way.
In the same way that corporations like Nike and all these other big, you know, shoe manufacturer, clothing manufacturer, luxury brands.
You could just think of that same way with regard to money and influence and control in how fake news organizations operate here in America.
So it's the same.
It's like six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.
We're really just seeing all of this sort of crumble.
Like, okay, this is great.
Let's get rid of all of the crap.
At least try.
Anyway, that's it.
We're coming back.
One more segment.
Stay tuned.
Any major disaster, especially weather-related, when the power goes out can cause people to suddenly panic.
Within hours, grocery store shelves in your area can be picked clean.
Food supply lines get interrupted and food is hard to find.
At that point, it's too late to do anything about it.
You must survive only on the food you already have in your home or risk waiting for the government to respond while you're standing in food lines.
So ask yourself, do you have enough food in your home to last for weeks or months?
That's why the smart move is to secure your family's personal supply of the most reliable emergency food you can buy.
Having at least four weeks worth of food is not a luxury.
It's mandatory.

When I was broken at the bottom, I found you're my healer and redeemer, Jesus.
That's who you are.
You brought me blessings out of a tragedy.
You turned my old song into a symphony.
And with your spirit living inside of me, I'm a new creation.
I'm a new creation.
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
But it rose until I stumbled and made my mistakes.
Then I could know in my soul how amazing was grace.
Hey!
Welcome back to Just Forum Talk Radio.
Your host, Craig James.
It's the final segment.
Yes, time flies, right?
We're going to, real quick, do what we do at the end of every episode, which is our God's Grace is Greater segment.
We share some scripture to leave you guys with some hope and encouragement and send you off into the day and into the week with a positive outlook.
Because I know a lot of the stuff we cover here is negative.
And a lot of the stuff we cover does deal with people who, you know...
Have looked at the world and sought to exploit it.
You know, like we heard from that message earlier about Solomon and how he attained everything and lost sight of what truly fulfills us, right?
You can have all the money in the world.
You can have all the power in the world.
You can have all the fulfillments of our lusts, of our flesh.
But at the end of the day, if you do these things, And then you lose sight of God.
You really lose sight of what this life's about.
And that's why I'm going to share these words with you.
And I'm sharing them not just for you, for me as well.
I use these scriptures just as much myself in the week and days ahead as an encouragement, as a way to find discernment.
And this is no different.
So we're in 1 John 2. And it's verse 15 through 17. It's a warning about the world, but I want to leave you guys with this warning.
It says, Do not love the world or the things that belong to the world.
If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.
For everything that belongs to the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride in one's lifestyle, is not from the Father, but from the world.
And the world, with its lust, is passing away.
But the one who does God's will remains forever.
And that's it.
That's the simplest message I can leave you with in understanding how to avoid falling into the traps that we've seen throughout this show and every time we talk about the things that are happening in this world, you know,
at least the bad things, when we cover those.
Which happens more often because there's more, I guess, that come up every day.
But remind yourself that when you love the things that are of this world, you're going to lose love for the Lord.
And I think that for me, on a daily basis, this is why my prayer always is that God will give me clarity of mind to see what is important and how to help others and how to do what is right.
I don't do any of this to fulfill the desire of the things that I want in this world because I know God will provide for me what I need when I need it.
I do it because I would like to help others find the peace and solace that I've found in my heart through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you don't have that, I offer you now, open your heart, say a prayer, call upon His name, accept Him as your Lord and Savior, Jesus that is.
Watch Him fulfill you and give you purpose and great things that can happen from that.
That's where I'm going to leave it.
Thanks for joining us.
We'll be back tomorrow, God willing, same time, same place.
Until then, I'm your host, Craig James.
