| Here we have NATO kicking off nuclear war games on Monday. | |
| The North Atlantic Treaty Organization has begun its annual military drills in preparation for nuclear war on Monday. | |
| American B-52 bombers will be joined by advanced aircraft from other alliance members as they simulate a war of annihilation with Russia. | |
| Yep, there you go. | |
| The war games dubbed Steadfast Noon. | |
| We're scheduled to run through the end of October. | |
| Belgium is hosting the exercises which will take place over the North Sea and the United Kingdom. | |
| Some American aircraft will take off from bases in North Dakota, even. | |
| According to NATO press release, Exercise Stepfest Noon involves 14 countries and up to 60 aircrafts of various types, including 4th and 5th generation fighter jets, as well as surveillance and tanker aircraft. | |
| as in previous years, US B-52 long-range bombers will take part. | |
| As long as nuclear weapons exist, NATO will remain a nuclear alliance. | |
| This year's nuclear drills come as tensions between NATO and Moscow are at a multi-decade high. | |
| Moscow has accused the alliance of waging war against Russia and Ukraine. | |
| Washington has led its allies in providing Kiev with tens of billions in weapons, as well as in intelligence and training to kill Russian soldiers. | |
| NATO Secretary General Jen Stoltenberg stated it would send the wrong signal to cancel the war games. | |
| It would send a very strong or wrong signal if we suddenly now canceled a routine long-time planned exercise because of the war in Ukraine. | |
| That would be absolutely wrong to send that signal. | |
| So what signal are they trying to send, friends? | |

| Boston University has created a new COVID strain that has an 80% kill rate Oh, it's just echoing dangerous experiments feared to have started the pandemic in the first place. | |
| Apparently U.S. researchers have developed a new lethal strain of COVID in a laboratory, which is now a mutant variant, which is a hybrid of Omicron and the original Wuhan virus that killed 80% of mice infected with it at Boston University. | |
| Okay, so what do you think they're planning with all of this? | |
| I mean, let's just be honest here. | |
| Let's kind of unpack this piece by piece. | |
| So we have nuclear war drills being ran, simulations, wars of annihilation being simulated over in Europe as Russia has been threatening over and over and over again that they are willing and able, capable to use nuclear weapons as we are funding the training and arming of soldiers who are murdering or killing in war, Russian soldiers as we speak. | |
| And then at the same time, domestically here, we're just developing super COVID now that can kill 80% of people uninfected. | |
| It's not a big deal. | |
| Nothing to worry about, guys. | |
| It's not like you could get accidentally released under the population, you know? | |
| And think about how it all would work out. | |
| I mean, if you ask yourself some simple questions, well, why would they be working on a virus with 80% lethality after, you know, COVID did what it did? | |
| Well, the PSYOP, we've talked about this before, is what if the PSYOP, the whole thing from the get-go was to release a virus that had a less lethal capacity? | |
| That way, when people saw that it didn't work or it wasn't killing as many people as they were saying it was going to kill, then people would be, you know, certain groups of individuals, the conspiracy theorists, right, would be hesitant to take vaccines, which, I don't know, obliterate your immune system. | |
| And then they turn around and release a really deadly virus. | |
| And then the people who don't want to take the vaccine because they're hesitant and they think, oh, it's just another COVID, they end up getting hurt the worst. | |
| But at the same time, the people who've had their immune systems obliterated by these mRNA vaccines... | |
| That seemingly just have destroyed their own body's capability to fight off disease and infection. | |
| They get hurt as well. | |
| So then it's like, how do you control the population, depopulate the world without having a nuclear war? | |
| Because, you know, these rich people, right? | |
| The globalists, right? | |
| The power elite, whatever you want to call them. | |
| They don't want their beaches toxic and nuclear radiation on the beaches of Saint-Tropez. | |
| The south of France is very beautiful, especially in the summer, so you cannot have a nuclear war ruin that for them. | |
| So what do they want? | |
| A virus. | |
| They can go hide in their bunker until everybody's dead, or they have the cures in secret, whatever it is. | |
| Who's going to release the next variant? | |

| And what's it going to look like? | |

| As we see this story here, central Kiev has been hit by kamikaze drone strikes as heavy fighting rages in two hot spots in eastern Ukraine. | |
| Apparently, residential buildings in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev have been damaged after drone attacks on a central district this Monday morning. | |
| Kiev's mayor, Vitaly Klitschko, said 28 explosive-laden drones had headed to the capital this morning, and while many were intercepted, a small number had hit several locations with at least five explosions heard in the city. | |
| Four people are known to have died as a result of the drone attacks, including a pregnant woman Well, of course, you got to throw that in there for the Western propaganda. | |

| You know, they have to include that, right? | |
| Russia has stepped up its use of attacks carried out by drones in recent weeks with various targets hit in Ukraine, particularly energy infrastructure. | |

| We've seen the video of missiles hitting geothermal plants, power stations, everything else. | |

| It's been widely available on the internet. | |
| I showed you a bunch of a compilation of those in the last maybe two videos ago. | |

| And now it seems like they're using these Iranian-made suicide drones, I think is what they're being called. | |
| And the fact of the matter is now Israel's stepping in to offer assistance to Ukraine on how to deal with the suicide drones that are being manufactured in Iran and being given to Russia to use against Ukraine. | |
| Oh, Israel's involved. | |

| No, I just look at this and I think, man, we're in a very delicate, delicate situation. | |
| But then you think, well, what are they not telling us about, you know, other things happening in the world? | |
| Like, why is Russia sending these suicide drones into Ukraine's heart to hit targets of interest? | |
| Well, maybe it's because of things like this we're seeing over in Russia. | |
| A military jet has slammed into a residential building in Russia, igniting a huge blaze. | |
| Apparently, disaster has struck a southern Russian city called Yesisk, located on the Sea of Azov. | |
| Well, you guys know where Azov is near. | |
| After a Russian military jet crashed into a large residential apartment building on Monday evening local time when the plane suffered engine failure. | |
| Yep, engine failure. | |
| The incident happened far away from the fighting in Ukraine and appears unrelated. | |
| Yeah, totally unrelated. | |
| Don't look at this. | |
| This is nothing. | |
| It's just a routine training flight, guys. | |
| Anything else means you're a conspiracy theorist if you think this could be more than what it seems. | |
| But the building's been on fire, apparently, for quite some time, and it's a deadly incident with casualties being reported, but no reports on how many. | |
| The crew managed to eject us for the plane impact of the building, and this is a picture of the actual jet hitting it, I guess, this explosion. | |

| Just barely see it right up there. | |
| That's the big explosion where the plane hit in the building. | |
| Yeah, I mean, look, you guys do with it what you may. | |
| I mean, here's some more pictures of the apartment building on fire. | |

| So it's sad, and it's really, you know, dangerous to see the times in which we are living, right? | |
| But, yeah, don't, it's not, it's totally unrelated, guys. | |

| But anyway, you know, you see, we saw these other stories that we reported on, the attacks inside of, you know, they were sabotaging certain train systems inside Germany that had them halt systems. | |
| It's been this basic war going back and forth, you know, continuously escalating. | |
| And I think it's only going to get worse and worse. | |
| And, you know, people keep saying, you know, oh, you're a fear monger, you're just that. | |
| Yeah. | |
| The fact that the wars are escalating, the battles are spreading out beyond the borders of where they say the conflict has been contained to, which is supposedly just in Ukraine. | |
| And now you have NATO launching drills. | |
| And even if they're preplanned from a long time ago, the fact that they're launching them and having to launch them, but then in the midst of this, you got to understand that you don't run drills because, oh, it's never going to happen. | |
| You run drills because you're anticipating that this could happen. | |
| So I think we're very close to a very dangerous place. | |
| But I think Laura Logan does a great job summarizing it all. | |
| And this was a great video I found where they cut together basically exactly where we're at today and what this is and what it's being sold to us as and what it really is. | |

| We're being corralled into this box where we either have to hate Vladimir Putin and believe everything evil that's said about him and love Ukraine, and there's no in between. | |
| And that reminds me a lot of you're either a white supremacist or you go with the Democrat narrative on everything under the sun. | |

| In his July 25th phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky, the president badmouthed Yovanovitch calling her bad news. | |

| And then she's given a cushy job for life at Georgetown University. | |
| And we're told that the president of the United States cannot say to his foreign counterparts that we want you to look into something. | |
| If the prosecutor's not fired, you're not getting the money. | |

| And they put in place someone who was solid. | |
| There's so much hypocrisy and dishonesty here, and Ukraine is at the center of the goal. | |
| Yeah, I mean, I think that that summarizes exactly where we're at. | |

| And whether by design or by chance or whatever it is, they're the ones that are fighting to implode sovereignty in the West to get this globalist, literal system of command-control dictatorship. | |
| And that's what we're fighting against or standing up against. | |
| So speaking of that, as there's wars being fought on NATO and the doorstep of NATO with Ukraine and Russia, et cetera, proxy war being fought there. | |
| We seldom remember that there's also a war being fought right on our own borders. | |
| Cartel gunmen also have kidnapped a mayor just across the Texas border. | |
| Apparently there was a mayor in a Mexican city that was right across the border from Texas who was kidnapped with his whole family or with his wife and son and members of his staff. | |
| But then they were later released, of course, because the government put pressure on them because the government's in cahoots with the cartel. | |
| So it just listens to what the government says. | |
| But I mean, the level of violence happening, not just across the border in Mexico with these cartel wars, which are getting insanely out of hand, which we know what the cartels were. | |
| They're just, and are in a lot of ways, They're fronts for clandestine intelligence services, money laundering operations. | |
| Just the same that Ukraine was a front for the globalist money laundering operations to the politicians. | |
| And just the same that Chicago is a front for the, you know, money laundering, if you will, to local politicians in that area and also drug cartels that have infiltrated our own country. | |
| Look at Chicago, the level of death and despair in that city on a daily basis. | |
| It's reminiscent of what you're seeing in the cartel wars we're seeing on the southern border and even what we're seeing in parts of Ukraine, but maybe not even as bad to a certain if you look at it from a certain lens. | |
| But, yeah, remember, there is a war going on there as well. | |
| But with all of that happening, you know, you heard that video from Laura Logan talking about, you know, the corruption of the Bidens and how nobody says anything and how nobody says anything. | |
| And, you know, Trump got in trouble for having a call with Ukraine's President Zelensky about, you know, looking into certain things. | |
| And you saw the clip where Joe Biden's like, son of a, you know what, I got the prosecutor fired when I threatened to withhold billions of dollars in funding, you know, quid pro quo. | |
| But at the same time, I mean, look at this. | |
| You have this story here. | |
| You have the GOP senator coming out and saying the FBI is holding voluminous evidence of Biden family corruption in Ukraine and China. | |
| Chuck Grassley is coming out now saying that, you know, the FBI has a huge amount of corruption or in evidence of corruption. | |
| Grassley says whistleblowers revealed the FBI possesses significant, impactful and voluminous evidence with respect to potential criminal conduct by Hunter Biden related to China, including info provided by Bobulinski and to Ukraine tied to Burisma. | |
| So we know this already, right? | |
| But ask yourself this question. | |
| Look at how far we are into this. | |
| Look at how far they've basically propped up this coup, treasonous coup against this nation. | |
| They've installed a puppet president. | |
| They've gotten away with it scot-free. | |
| They're laughing at us as we try to hold them accountable for their crimes. | |
| And we are treated like second and third class citizens. | |
| We don't have a say. | |
| We are serfs. | |
| We are peasants. | |
| Our voice and our opinion doesn't matter. | |
| There is no government by the people for the people. | |
| There is a government for the elites by the elites that is run in a way that has a two-tier justice system because we have ample evidence and the FBI has ample evidence and everyone knows that Joe Biden's guilty of these crimes. | |

| Hunter Biden's real estate firm, Rosemont Realty, received a $40 million investment from a Swiss company owned by Russian oligarch Yelena Berturina. | |
| Recall, Hunter Biden also previously received $3.5 million from Yelena Berturina, the billionaire of the widow of a corrupt Moscow mayor. | |
| And apparently, we just... | |
| We're not going to do anything about it. | |
| Aren't we in this proxy war with Russia? | |
| Oh, it's not really a war with Russia. | |
| It's a war between the forces that are corrupt and the forces that... | |
| I don't know. | |
| It's two corrupt forces fighting for who can be more corrupt, I guess, at this point. | |
| That's essentially how you have to look at it. | |
| Because there is no good guy and bad guy in this. | |
| There's only bad guys on all round, I think. | |

| It's not only that Hunter Biden received this $3.5 million wire transfer from the former mayor of Moscow's wife, but he's also getting $40 million investments. | |
| But, you know, Joe Biden has no... | |
| He doesn't know anything about that. | |
| And it couldn't in any way have any effect on his decisions in this war against Russia where he's fighting proxy wars for his son's board position in Burisma where he had the prosecutor fired with that quid pro quo scheme. | |
| But Trump's the Russian agent. | |
| Remind me about that. | |
| And, of course, impeachable offense, Biden's pressured the Saudis to ramp up oil production to help Dems in midterm. | |
| So just another example of the corruption here. | |
| Essentially, we know this story, but just to recap, what Biden did was he basically went to the Saudis and said, hey, if you could just help me out on the price of oil here domestically before the midterm, I don't care what you do after, because then I'll have, you know, we'll win. | |
| Oh, that's not another quid pro quo, you know, engagement of our, you know, Use of our government against the American people? | |
| No, no, no, no, no. | |
| I just, I don't see anything that's redeeming about all this. | |
| And at the same time, you have this. | |
| Biden DOJ wanting six-month prison sentence for Steve Bannon. | |
| Yep. | |
| Apparently the Biden Department of Justice on Monday recommended that former Trump advisor Steve Bannon get six months in jail and a $200,000 fine for contempt of Congress. | |
| What's his crime? | |
| Ignoring a subpoena from the false witch hunt Russia hoax continuation January 6th committee. | |
| That's his crime. | |
| No, he didn't do anything like really criminal. | |
| He just literally refused to comply with an organization that is built on a lie that is predicated on the basis of demonizing, villainizing half of America to hide evidence of the stolen election in 2020 while at the same time accusing half the country of being a part of some grand conspiracy to overthrow the government when the people who literally stole it Vis-a-vis this coup in 2020 are the ones running the show as we speak. | |
| So it's like if you're in some third-world country and the, you know, whatever, make up a term, the bad party, whatever you want to call it, the bath party, let's say, like in Iraq, that they take over. | |
| They walk into the halls of Congress, they seize power, and then instead of investigating the crime that is the stolen power in that jurisdiction, they just start accusing all their enemies of the crimes they've committed and then having these false trials to try to stage. | |
| The whole thing is maddeningly insane. | |

| Harvard connected this poll basically and they found that Trump would not only win in a 2024 election if it happened today, but they also found that absolutely nobody cares about January 6th because there's nothing there. | |
| And yeah, but remember that they're going to keep coming out with stories. | |

| The thing is, the crazy part of the story is that he refused to give the shares up, And that was the end of the story. | |
| Trump was like, well, I want you to give my wife shares or allow her to buy shares in it. | |
| Allow her to buy part of your shares. | |
| And he said no. | |
| So Trump, they basically said, well, do whatever you can, right? | |
| And then a time later, this guy gets thrown off the board at the company and thrown out of the company. | |
| And now he's saying that he was thrown out of the company because he wouldn't give up his shares of the company to Trump and da-da-da-da. | |

| But today we were seen in the Ninth Circuit Court in San Francisco, California. | |
| This is the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. | |
| We had a board of three judges. | |
| Here are our cases. | |
| John Doe v. | |
| Google LLC. And essentially what this hearing does is because we sought emergency injunctive relief in the state court against Google two weeks before the election when they deleted our channels, We were denied. | |
| Now, injunctive relief meant we wanted our channels reinstated because we argued that they had been in violation of Google's and YouTube's own terms been removed. | |
| And that now we're arguing in front of the Ninth Circuit Court, essentially a more comprehensive argument that is that Google acted on the behest or at the behest of the Congress when they released a House resolution, which was condemning conspiracy essentially a more comprehensive argument that is that Google acted on the behest or at the behest of the Congress when they released a But there's 20 other plaintiffs in this suit with me or roughly that. | |
| Basically, what we're doing is we're suing Google to say we want our channels back. | |
| And, you know, obviously we're going to discuss things possible in the future. | |
| Who knows, damages, et cetera. | |
| We're not sure about that yet. | |
| That's all to be seen later with our lawyers. | |

| We don't know what the outcome is today, but the hearing took place and I'll play you the first few minutes of it just to give you an idea of what our lawyers are arguing in front of the courts. | |
| The case that's on for argument is John Doe versus Google, YouTube, 21-16934. | |
| Each side has 15 minutes total, so we're ready. | |

| I intend to reserve four minutes for rebuttal. | |
| Do you want to just state your name for the record? | |
| I was just getting there. | |
| My name is Chris Armenta. | |

| May I proceed? | |
| Yes, please do. | |
| I represent the plaintiffs who are conservative commentators and journalists who for years published their works on YouTube. | |
| More than 15,000 videos, almost 800 million views, more than most mainstream media channels. | |
| That is until October 15, 2020, when they were summarily erased on that day. | |
| We're challenging the district court's order that dismissed the first amended complaint. | |
| The district court held that there was no state action plausibly alleged. | |
| She also did not grant leave to amend, and also the decision to decline to take supplemental jurisdiction over the state contract claims. | |
| My ninth grader is studying Fahrenheit 451 in English, so I thought I would start with that, which is the case in which Ray Bradbury wrote of a dystopian society in which firemen, instead of putting out fires, they burned books, and sometimes the people along with them, in the interest of creating conformity and squelching independent thought. | |
| In this case, YouTube is the book burner, and it's the government officials and the House of Representatives itself That identified for YouTube which books to burn. | |
| The plaintiffs alleged that public officials, through H.R. 1154, specifically identified the speech that plaintiffs had been making for years on YouTube. | |
| It was the escalating threats that public officials made out loud. | |
| Nancy Pelosi said that she would take away, or she would attempt to take away Section 230 immunity. | |
| YouTube hopped to it, and we allege that they did it as a result of both coercion and encouragement. | |
| One thing that's kind of weird about this is you don't have anything really in the record about what they took down. | |
| I mean, we can track it down, but then it's not really in the record, which seems kind of bizarre to me. | |
| That you're making us work that hard on that. | |
| So I'm just not sure why there aren't more specific allegations relating to the specific content that's at issue here. | |
| Fair point, Your Honor. | |
| There are a few allegations in the First Amendment complaint, and I admit, I think we admit in our brief, they could have been much more detailed. | |
| Part of that reason is... | |
| Well, we're just kind of human beings. | |
| We wonder what we're taking down. | |
| Sure, of course. | |
| So if you look at ER-59, Paragraph 8 of the First Amendment Complaint does talk about conspiracy theories, talks about content about Hunter Biden in the Ukraine, the ongoing corruption probe, content about social media censorship, content about QAnon. | |
| That's right in the complaint. | |
| It's also some of those are the specific issues that were identified in H.R. 1154. | |
| So there's a direct link between what the House of Representatives identified and What the plaintiff's content was. | |
| And then, curiously, exactly what you two put in their blog on October 15th. | |
| Well, let me ask you. | |
| Let's assume there's all that and more. | |
| The question is, does it matter? | |
| Because what I think is lacking here, and maybe you can point me to it, I don't see any congressional command. | |
| And I don't see anything that links it with YouTube, for example, where it appears that your client's writings took place. | |
| Alright, so I just wanted to give you an idea of it that's a taste. | |
| It's 45 minutes. | |
| I'll leave a link to it below if you want to watch the full court proceeding because it's both our lawyer and Google's lawyer arguing in front of the Ninth Circuit as to whether or not this case is going to be seen or how we can amend it to make it so that it is seen and justice is served. | |
| Now, some people didn't take this the right way. | |
| I mean, some people took it the wrong way, I guess, in my opinion. | |
| A lot of people saw it as a point that there wasn't a lot of hope here. | |
| I saw a lot of hope. | |
| It turns out that the three judges that we have, of the three, I think two of them were conservative appointments and one was a liberal appointment. | |
| I believe one was a Clinton or Obama appointed judge and the other two, one was a Bush appointed judge and the other was a Trump appointed judge. | |
| So you got to remember that there shouldn't be politics in courtrooms, but that's just how it is in the world that we live in today. | |
| And going beyond that, our lawyer did a great job of articulating the fact that there is a case to be made that Google took down our content in basically violation of the First Amendment because they were acting at the behest of the government who was putting out resolutions from the House and, | |
| HR, I think it was 1154 they referenced there, was the resolution from the House of Representatives that was signed off on that basically condemned QAnon and conspiracy theories and basically encouraged the social media platforms to censor our content, at which point... | |
| Almost exactly a week or two later, YouTube takes down our channels, and then two weeks after that, the 2020 election happens, and you guys saw what happened from there. | |
| So I'm hopeful that this is going to be ruled on favorably by these judges, but I'm not going to hold my breath. | |
| But this is a case, remember, we filed this emergency injunctive relief in October of 2020. | |
| Folks, it's October of 2022. | |
| It's taken us two years just to get in front of a panel of three judges in the Ninth Circuit. | |
| And then it's going to take a whole lot longer if this doesn't go the way we need it to to get in front of the Supreme Court. | |
| And even if it does go the way we want it to, these legal battles take time. | |
| And it's like they've, in my opinion, they've won because they've used lawfare to kick us out. | |
| They've used their terms of service and saying that they're a private company and they can do whatever they want to kick us out. | |
| But if you listen to the judges here, what's funny is that they admit, right? | |
| Judge Van Dyke, the male judge on the right there, he actually talks about throughout what he's saying. | |
| He's saying that essentially he's like, well, it's kind of like a foregone conclusion that Google wants to censor conservatives, that they're shutting down conservative opinions. | |
| So it's almost like they're agreeing with us that, yes, it's just a matter of reality, a fact, that Google is taking part in the selective censorship of conservative voices for political gain. | |
| He literally lays it out. | |
| Now, he may be speaking hypothetically in the way he was talking about it, but... | |
| In the way he lays it out, it sounds very much like he agrees that Google censors. | |
| They censored to affect the outcome of the 2020 election, and they did it all on purpose. | |
| And what the judges kind of are saying is, how are we going to prove as plaintiffs that Google did it at the behest of the government, which is a violation and infringement on our First Amendment rights? | |
| And that's the case we're trying to argue here. | |
| So... | |
| I mean, without me getting too much into the weeds here legally, because I am a political scientist, this is what I do for a living. | |
| This is what I studied when I was going to school, was case law, and especially law regarding this. | |
| So this is one of the things I could go on forever on. | |
| I don't want to because it will take too much time. | |

| A Michigan judge kicked a female juror out of trial for allegedly flirting with one of the men charged in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. | |
| A prosecutor has said that the woman was seen smiling and exchanging eye contact with defendant Paul Beller. | |
| Judge Thomas Wilson had said that he noticed the interactions. | |
| He said he had never seen anything like this in 35 years of practicing law. | |
| It just didn't happen one day, he said. | |
| It happened over multiple days. | |
| So imagine this. | |

| A judge decides to kick a juror off the panel because she smiled at the defendant. | |

| Perhaps that, to them, was an indicator that the juror might rule favorably for the defendant, and they thought, we need to get this juror off the trial so that we don't have a mistrial, so let's kick the juror out of the jury pool and replace her with somebody who hates Trump and hates Republicans and loves Gritch and Whitmer and believes all the lies on MSNBC because we need another shill that's willing to believe anything they hear. | |

| But today, We're finishing, we're wrapping up, not all the way through yet, but we're getting to the end of Matthew. | |
| We're in chapter 27. | |
| We're talking about the crucifixion. | |
| And we left off yesterday where Jesus had essentially been... | |
| Given to the crowd, he could have been given up from Pilate. | |
| Pilate washed his hands of it. | |
| The crowd chose Barabbas. | |
| And of course, now Jesus was mocked by the soldiers in the governor's palace. | |
| And they put the thorns on his head, the crown of thorns on his head. | |
| Now Jesus is going to be crucified. | |
| And that's where we're picking up. | |
| This is Matthew chapter 27, verse 32. | |
| And we're going to read today up to verse 56. | |
| So let's go ahead and read. | |
| It says here, This is Jesus, | |
| the king of the Jews. | |
| Then two criminals were crucified with him, one on his right and one on his left. | |
| Those who passed by were yelling insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, the one who would demolish the sanctuary and rebuild it in three days, save yourself. | |
| If you are the son of God, come down from the cross. | |
| In the same way, the chief priests with the scribes and elders mocked him and said, he saved others, but he cannot save himself. | |
| He is the king of Israel. | |
| Let him come down now from the cross and we will believe in him. | |
| He was, or he has put his trust in God. | |
| Let God rescue him now. | |
| If he wants him, For he said, I am God's son. | |
| In the same way, even the criminals who were crucified with him kept taunting him. | |
| From noon until three in the afternoon, darkness came over the whole land. | |
| About three in the afternoon, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? | |
| That is, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me? | |
| When someone of those standing there heard this, they said, he's calling for Elijah. | |
| Immediately, one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, fixed it on a reed, and offered him a drink. | |
| But the rest said, let's see if Elijah comes to save him. | |
| Jesus shouted again with a loud voice and gave up his spirit. | |
| Suddenly, the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom. | |
| The earth quaked and the rocks were split. | |
| The tombs were also opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. | |
| And they came out of the tombs after his resurrection, entered the holy city, and appeared to many. | |
| When the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were terrified and said, this man really was God's son. | |
| Many women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and ministered to him were there, Looking on from a distance, Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee's sons. | |
| Okay, so let's just kind of go through what happened here. | |
| And you guys saw, this is the point at which Jesus passes, I guess. | |
| And in Matthew, it's told a little bit different than it is in some of the other Gospels. | |
| And this is kind of just Matthew's way of getting through the crucifixion and what happens. | |
| And this is Matthew's recounting of it. | |
| But if you want more detail, you know, I think you can go to Luke, and that has a different, or not a different account, but just a more detailed account with other pieces of the story that are kind of in each different chapter. | |
| But in this account from Matthew, we start with Jesus saying, This is a place where I'm not sure they know exactly where it is this day, but it's somewhere outside of the city. | |
| So Jesus is meant to carry his cross a long way. | |
| Now, you've got to imagine at this point, though, Jesus being human and in flesh, not only was he God's son and the Messiah, but he was also human at that point in flesh. | |
| And he had been mercilessly beaten and tortured by the Romans up to that point. | |
| Now, that's important to note because that's why he couldn't carry his cross. | |
| So they asked a Cyrenia man named Simon to carry his cross. | |
| And in the same way, I think, you know, there's a lot of people that talk about we're meant to carry Jesus' cross every day. | |
| As an example of Simon being the one who was asked or forced to carry it from where they were to this place where he was meant to be crucified because Jesus didn't have the strength to do it himself. | |
| But it shows you the torture and torment that he was under through it all. | |
| Now, it also talks about here wine that was mixed with gall, that was being given to him to drink, that he refused to drink. | |
| Well, gall apparently was some sort of narcotic, and it's thought that the people, I think the soldiers who were trying to give him this, were trying to give it to him to make him suffer more, and that's why Jesus refused to drink it. | |
| But, of course, the soldiers, after he was crucified, and after he had his... | |
| Or after he was crucified, hung on the cross, they took his clothes, which was normal, and they divided his clothes up and they drew lots for it. | |
| And apparently that's how they divided up his clothes. | |
| And then in kind of this final, you know... | |
| Screw you, if you will, I guess, from Pilate to the Jews at that point, for lack of a better way of putting it, they nailed a sign above Jesus that said, this is Jesus, the King of the Jews. | |
| Now this is just a way of mocking Jesus further, but also it's an affront to the Jews at the time who were the subjects of the Roman Empire. | |
| So then... | |
| The story goes on and tells us about two criminals, which we'll learn more in different recounts, in different historical facts in other gospels, like in Luke and other gospels about what happened here. | |
| But two other criminals were hung beside Jesus, one on his left and one on his right. | |
| And essentially, they and others, the chief priests, the people being hung next to him, and all the people watching, were mocking Jesus. | |
| And basically what they kept telling him is, if you really are the Son of God, tell God to get you down. | |
| What are you doing up here? | |
| But that, I think, is a testament to the power of Jesus to understand that he knew he had to make the sacrifice. | |
| He had already committed to God's plan fully. | |
| Not that he ever wavered, but he was already going to do it from the day I think he was born. | |
| He knew he had to do this in one form or another, being the Messiah. | |
| And at this point, they're mocking Jesus further, but Jesus is committed to God and saying, We know God | |
| has told us and taught us to do and to be in this world. | |
| And this is the example we're meant to look to. | |
| Now, again, they taunt him mercilessly saying that, you know, if you're God's son, get yourself down from here. | |
| And they just kept taunting him. | |
| But there comes this point. | |
| Now again, this is just Matthew's recount. | |
| There's other details in other Gospels that we can get into in another time, but just going off of Matthew's account here, there's from noon until 3, the whole land is darkened, right? | |
| And at 3 o'clock, I guess, Jesus cries out, Eli, Eli, Lema, Sabachthani. | |
| Now, A lot of people in that area thought they heard Eloi. | |
| Now Eloi means Elijah, apparently, and Eli means God. | |
| So what they thought they heard was him say, Elijah, Elijah, why are you forsaking me? | |
| And they thought he was calling on Elijah, the prophet, to come down and save him. | |
| And apparently a lot of people, or one of them at least, ran and got a sponge and got sour wine, fixed on a reed, and offered him a drink. | |
| But... | |
| This is something that they thought, you know, probably at least one of them thought, oh my gosh, this guy's calling, the son of God's calling on Elijah. | |
| Maybe this is going to be coming. | |
| And what they didn't hear, though, was a lie, which is God. | |
| He was saying, my God, my God, why have you forsaken me? | |
| Now, this is, a lot of people say, oh, why is he saying God's forsaken him? | |
| Well, it's to fulfill prophecy. | |
| Because if we go back to the Old Testament and we read Psalm 22, which I will read the first few verses of, specifically Psalm 22, verse 1, this is Jesus quoting the Psalms. | |
| And there's another part in the Psalms, which is, let's see, Where they divide his clothes in Psalm 22 verse 18. | |
| It says, You are holy and enthroned on the praises of Israel. | |
| In you, our fathers trusted. | |
| They trusted and you delivered them. | |
| To you, they cried and were rescued. | |
| In you, they trusted and were not put to shame. | |
| So, I believe, as it's mentioned here, that he's referencing the book of Psalms, Psalm 22. | |
| That's why Jesus says this. | |
| But of course the people didn't see that at the time, it would seem. | |
| And again, he shouts in a loud voice and he gave his spirit up. | |
| And this is Jesus passing. | |
| And when Jesus passed, they tell us these great things happened. | |
| The curtain in the sanctuary split in two. | |
| You imagine you're standing there and all of a sudden, I think it's a holy tapestry, right? | |
| And the sanctuary just tears itself in half. | |
| The earth quaked. | |
| Rocks were split. | |
| So the whole world shook when Jesus passed. | |
| The tombs were opened. | |
| Many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. | |
| And they came out of the tombs after his resurrection. | |
| And entered the holy city and appeared to many. | |
| But this is one of the most fascinating interactions. | |
| The centurion who was there guarding Jesus. | |
| He saw the earthquake. | |
| He saw all these things happen. | |
| And he was terrified, and he realized this man really was God's son. | |
| So a historical account in the recognition that it's of supernatural nature that this all happened. | |
| The earth doesn't quake for no reason when somebody dies that they are saying is the son of God. | |
| And then it talks about those who had followed him were looking on from a distance, and they were there, including the women who had followed him, Mary Magdalene, the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee's sons. | |
| So that's where we're going to leave it today. | |
| We're going to pick up tomorrow with the burial of Jesus and Matthew's account of that. | |
| So I hope that that kind of gave you an idea of what the Scripture says about his crucifixion. | |
| We're going to pick up tomorrow with the rest of it. | |
| So with that, we're going to end it with a prayer, and then we'll wrap it up. | |
| Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, Lord, as we read this story, understanding the sacrifice made on the cross by our Lord and Savior Jesus, let us take hope, let us take solace in knowing that Jesus sacrificed for us all so greatly so that we may have eternal salvation. | |
| Let us understand that the sacrifice he made was a sacrifice not only made by the Son of God, but From the Son of God who had become flesh and felt pain and felt the agony and the misery of the torture that he faced, but he did it Gladly knowing that he would save us with eternal salvation, Lord. | |
| Let us keep that in our minds every day as we go forward in our lives. | |
| And Lord, let us be there for others in the same way. | |
| Let us understand that through our persecution, our suffering, our affliction, not only does it pale in comparison to what our Lord and Savior went through, but that through it, Lord, as you've taught us in the Scripture, we can gain salvation. | |
| Endurance which will lead us to a proven character which will help us to deliver hope to others and ourselves through you, from you. | |
| Lord, we thank you for this day and we say a special prayer. | |
| I pray that everybody out there who's suffering from anything, any kind of illness or affliction will find comfort in you. | |
| Lord, I say a special prayer with everyone out there listening that they'll pray for my good friend Roger who's facing cancer right now. | |
| just pray Lord that you'll help him heal and be with his family and be with all of us in whatever ailment we have whatever way we need your healing Lord put your hands on us and show us the way we thank you for this day and every day Most of all, our eternal salvation in Jesus' name. | |
