Friday, he said he wasn't sending ground troops to Iran, but added, if I were, I certainly wouldn't tell you.
Trump announced Iranian air defense is 100% obliterated in the first week of the war, but an F-35, the crown jewel of U.S. air power, was shot down two days ago.
He claimed repeatedly, the Iranian military is gone, completely wiped out, but drones and missiles are still targeting targets in Israel in the Gulf region.
As of yesterday, targets have extended as far as a joint U.S.-UK base in Diego Garcia and the Indian Ocean.
Trump also said opening the Strait of Hormuz is a simple maneuver, has refused to send U.S. warships to ensure safe passage.
He asked for others to help.
Vassals such as UK, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan all said no.
Interestingly, Trump never asked Israel to send ships to open Hormuz.
I guess he knows who's boss in that relationship.
Well, today I learned Trump's actually sent like 5,000 Marines, maybe 81st airborne.
I've heard even larger numbers to take Corg Island.
It's going to be a catastrophe.

And today, there's a major escalation in that the Israelis struck the largest gas field in Iran, and Iran retaliated by attacking the energy infrastructure of the GCC.
And Iran has stated that its purpose, its goal, its strategy is to move oil to $200 a barrel, which will have a really severe impact on the global economy because the entire global economy is based on access to cheap energy.
So unfortunately, I think that we can expect this war to drag on for years and years.
Eventually, America will send in ground troops.
Eventually, the trade hormones will be contested.
Eventually, this will spread all across the world.
Eventually, other nations will be drawn in.
So, Saudi Arabia is thinking about declaring war on Iran, and Saudi Arabia has a mutual defense pact with Pakistan.
So, Pakistan will be drawn into this war.
So, things are spiraling out of control.
And just recently, Ali Laradini, who is the de facto head of the Iranian war effort, was assassinated.
And he was a pragmatic elder statesman in Iran who had the authority to negotiate a ceasefire.
Now that he's gone, there really is no more off-ramp.
So, both sides are committed to a long war of attrition, and the consequences for the entire global economy are quite dire.
That is yesterday.
I was anticipating a short war that would be over in weeks, maybe even this week.
But now that sending ground troops in, that changes the situation completely, 100%.

Well, there's just new headlines, breaking headlines coming at the moment out, which says that Trump has decided in the light of productive discussions that are taking place with Iran to postpone the energy strikes for five days while I pursue talks with Iran.
However, this is just lying.
It's not true.
And the Iranians have said very clearly, there are no direct or indirect talks taking place with Trump.
The five-day pause, essentially, I sent this one word to someone in Tehran, and they came back and said, tackle.
That's what has happened.

So that's where we are.
I guess it's Monday.
The markets are down.
And I expect Trump wants to get them up again quickly.
So we now have the talks taking place, which are not taking place.
And we have a five-day pause because probably also because, I mean, it was a dangerous game of chicken that was developing between Washington and Tehran in terms of the nuclear side of it, but also in terms of the ultimatum that the supreme leader had given to America and saying, you know, if you don't do what I ask you,
then there will be major escalation across the entire Gulf.
How did the Americans so radically, drastically miscalculate the shrewdness and the potency of the Iranian response?
I think partly, I mean, partly, first of all, they believed Mossad and Mossad have got this completely wrong.
They don't understand the nature of Iran.
They don't understand the nature of the Iranian system and structure.
I know this sounds incredible because we hold, you know, Mossad as supposed to be this sort of extraordinary intelligence service.
It is a major failure and one which they've passed on to America.

You just had to give it a little push and it would collapse.

It's an enormous failure.
And it's one from which it's very difficult to find an exit point.
So Netanyahu and company persuaded Trump and his most senior advisors that by bombing civilian as well as military targets, the Iranian people would rise up, overthrow the mullahs, and establish a liberal democracy.
I mean, if you put this in the form of a novel, no publisher would even accept it.
Exactly right.
Yes, that's what's happened.
It is a major intelligence failure, like Iraq.
You know, there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and that America was persuaded to go to war on Iraq on a false prospectus.
And now they've been persuaded to go to war on another false prospectus, that Iran was so weak and feeble that it could be expected to collapse.
And the reverse has happened.
What we see is that Iran has got a plan, a deeply laid plan.
It has unfolding various phases to this plan, and it is one which envisages not just, if you like, some sort of a new agreement on nuclear things,
it envisages absolutely transforming the West Asia and Asia itself through their chokehold on Hormuz in order to crash the petrodollar and deprive the GCC of those excess savings that they have been enjoying since 1974 when we had the first,
if you like, the first rise of the great rise in the price of energy.
So this is a major strategic ploy that Mustaba has outlined in terms of that and saying this is what's going to happen.
And if you don't agree with, you know, if you don't agree to it, and if you pursue your ultimatum to me, that you're going to attack all the energy system of Iran, we will react and we will escalate against all the structures in the Gulf states and in Israel.
Not only just their energy, but all the infrastructure, including water purification structures.
And if necessary, we will move from ambiguity to something closer to nuclear deterrence.
So it's a very important shift.
There's no doubt we're dealing with a new style of leadership.
Very important to see this.
The statement, which was short, 12 minutes or so, the first part was what you'd expect.
It's Nauruz and it's in Iran.
That's a new year.
But the second part laid out his ultimatum.
And he said there's going to be a new regime across Hormuz, which is there will be a specialized channel for agreed vessels to pass in that narrow strip between Kesem Island and Larak,
and that they will only be allowed to pass if they're not dealing, if their cargoes were not bought in dollars, but were bought in Juan, and if they pay a fee.

Can you confirm that number and elaborate on that?
I can't confirm the exact number.
I know it's within that ballpark, but I would defer you to the Pentagon for a specific number of wounded or injured thus far.
And then secondly, if I can, I wanted to ask about the, there was a briefing on the Capitol Hill today, and some senators came out and said they were more convinced than ever that there was a U.S. boots on the ground.
Senator Blumenthal said that.
In fact, your reaction to that and any update on President Trump's thinking about it.
Look, I would say that Democrats on Capitol Hill are clearly being quite disingenuous.
Three years ago, not a single Democrat voted for the, against the resolution condemning Iran as the world's leading state sponsor of terror.
Yet now, with President Trump as commander-in-chief, finally taking the action that so many Democrats have called on the Commander-in-Chief to do for many, many years to wipe out the threat of a rogue Iranian terrorist regime.
Now, all of a sudden, Democrats are playing politics with this long-standing bipartisan policy of the United States.
And 53 of them in the House recently voted against the resolution condemning Iran as the world's state sponsor of terror.
So I wouldn't take Democrats at their word.
As for boots on the ground, the president has talked about this repeatedly.
Wisely, he does not rule options out as commander-in-chief.
So again, I would hesitate to confirm anything that a Democrat on Capitol Hill says right now about the president's thinking.
Okay, your thoughts.
She's basically lying through her teeth.
What Bill Clinton did was pass an act, got an act passed and signed it that essentially said regime change was America's objective in both Iraq and Iran.
George W. Bush used that as part of his rationale to go to war with Iraq in 2003.
But nowhere in the discussions, either in the National Security Council in the White House or on the Hill, was there a policy of going to war in order to affect that regime change without consulting the Congress first.
There simply wasn't.
Now, we all know that presidents have used the War Powers Act, which I think is unconstitutional and an abridgment of the Constitution, because it does sort of allow the president to use force for a little bit if he reports on it periodically and so forth.
And that's terrible.
They should never pass that act.
The Constitution is explicit.
And James Madison, the father of the Constitution, was explicit.
The war power is the serious, straight path to executive aggrandizement.
And that's being shown right now.
And it's been shown for the past 20 years.
So Blumenthal's right.
I know there's politics behind it, but he's right.
And he was very right in his choice of words.
This will be a disaster if we put ground troops in Iran.
Let me say, I'm no fan of Richard Blumenthal, senator from Connecticut, but I agree with Colonel Wilkerson.
Everything Blumenthal has been saying about this war is spot on.
I endorse every single word coming from him about this topic.

This is very bad.

If you tell them that they need to stop bombing this target or that target, they might back off for a week or so, but they're not going to listen to you.
You have to take away their ability to do that.
You have to take away some feature of the defense system to say, hey, look, we're going to take away a feature of your defense system, and we are not going to support you while you're on the offense.
If you go completely back on the defense, we will support you.
But until we take something away from the Israelis, they will not listen to us.
If President Trump addresses that first, that will give him the space to reach a deal.
And we already saw him today through his Commerce Secretary talking about lifting the sanctions on some of the Iranian oil that's already on the water.
And so I think we, I pray that we're actually moving in that direction, but I think the timing is crucial.
I think we have a lot of potential right now to get that deal.
The fundamental issue is restraining Israel.
And until we do that, we may be able to buy some time, but we'll be right back in the same situation all over again.
So that's why I say we have to actually be pretty forceful with them and just say, look, we're paying for the majority of your defense.
We will not pay for you to go on offense.
We have a different strategic goal than they do.
Like right now, we share some tactical objectives.
Like we've said that we want to take down their ballistics, we're going to take out their Navy, et cetera.
And the Iranians or the Israelis are on board with that.
But beyond that, that's where our interests go in completely divergent paths.
The Israelis want full regime change, and the Israelis have a very high tolerance for chaos.
Like they're completely okay destroying that whole system over there and having a chaotic situation where the straight support moves is still in jeopardy, where potentially there's mass migration, where you have different fractionalizations within inside of Iran that establishes the region, but poses less of a threat to Israel.
The Israelis are fine with that.
We are not.
That would be absolutely catastrophic for us, for our partners, our allies in the GCC states, potentially even in Europe, and then also for the world energy trade.
So the stakes are very, very high from our strategic objective standpoint.
And so to let the Israelis continue to essentially call the shots and drive the ferocity and the strategic objectives of the battle, that is not doing any service for the American people.

Hey, so I heard the view expressed that it's really stupid that this whole plan of bringing the U.S. troops in for whatever they're going to do, which is up in the air.
My thought, first thought about that, though, was like it's, I agreed with Russ Winter on the other show there that it's seems like a bluff, but my view was it's got to be, it's either a bluff or they know something that we don't.
And there were some comments made about, you know, so a lot of people still think we're in 2003 or something in terms of like how these things are fought.
And it seems that a lot of people actually are thinking that way.
What about keeping in mind the fact that the U.S. has all these new weapons?
They have the microwave weapons, the sonic weapons, and who knows, maybe they have things that we don't know about yet.
So I don't think it's going to be a game changer, but I absolutely don't think that they would do anything.
I don't think that they would try to invade unless they had something up their sleeve that we don't know about.
But Russ also threw in the ID.
He said, maybe they're just coming over to keep Saudi Arabia in line.
And I think that's pretty plausible, too.

And the first we saw the U.S. taking the opportunity to put into action what they've learned was Venezuela.
And so they went in there and I don't know exactly what they did.
It doesn't seem real clear, but they did clearly use microwave and sonic weapons.
And so that was like, I almost think that that was as much as any other reason they wanted to, they wanted to use some of these new technologies.
So they haven't had a lot.
I think that was their first opportunity, really.
And so the expectation that you'd have seen everything that they've got, well, it's pretty early still.
