Hours after celebrating Christ's resurrection and meeting with Vice President J.D. Vance on Sunday, Pope Francis died early Monday morning, that's today, at the age of 88, according to the Vatican.
Tributes from Catholics and others around the world quickly began pouring in, including from Vance, according to Fox.
Dearest brothers and sisters, with deep sorrow, I must announce the death of our Holy Father, Francis.
At 7.35 this morning, the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the house of the Father.
His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and his church.
He taught us to live the values of the gospel with fidelity, courage, and universal love, especially in favor of the poorest and most marginalized.
With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Boprancis to the infinite merciful love of the one and triune God.
Triune meaning the one in many, God the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost, which always baffled me as a young Episcopalian in South Pasadena, were we worshiping one God or three?
I just learned of the passing of Pope Francis.
Art goes out to the millions of Christians all over the world who loved him.
I was happy to see him yesterday, though he was obviously very ill.
I'll always remember him for the homily he gave in the very early days of COVID.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has delivered one of his most candid assessments yet of the West's involvement in the Ukraine conflict, assessing that the West has effectively lost a proxy war with Russia.
In a wide-ranging interview published April 7th on Angry Zotie YouTube channel, Orbán echoed the sentiment long promoted by Moscow that the war in Ukraine is not merely a local or regional conflict,
but a geopolitical contest between Russia and the collective West, with Ukraine as its unfortunate battleground.
As the leader of an EU member state, Orban's blunt statement that the West has lost the war marks a significant divergent from the dominant narratives in Brussels, Berlin, Paris, and Washington.
According to Orban, our European leaders are hesitant to admit the defeat.
The implications are severe.
Losing a war.
It's a serious thing, he warned.
Orban's comments are a continuation of his longstanding criticism of the European Union's response to the war in Ukraine.
Since the conflict began in February 2022, Hungary has emerged as one of the most vocal dissenters within the EU, repeatedly objecting to sanctions on Russia, military aid to Ukraine.

Budapest has frequently vetoed or delayed collective EU actions, positioning itself as a contrarian voice in an increasingly divided Europe.
According to Orban, the West, especially Europe, miscalculated its strategy by unconditionally backing Ukraine with military, financial, and political support.

The entire Western world is lined up beyond Ukraine, Orban said.

And he has previously stated he believed Trump's return to the White House would lead to a negotiated peace settlement in Ukraine, something he sees as increasingly unlikely under Biden.

If the Ukraine counteroffensive stalls permanently and Russian territorial gains are consolidated, many of the EU's current policies from sanctions To accession talks could be viewed not only as ineffective,
but deeply counterproductive.
Urban warns that this will come with a cost to European credibility, especially if the bloc is perceived as clinging to moral victories while suffering strategic losses.
Furthermore, as Urban had pointed out, A long war could turn Ukraine into a permanent welfare client of the West, an unsustainable burden for a bloc, or a facing numerous internal crises from inflation to migration to political polarization.
Whether Viktor Orban is merely an outlier or a harbinger of an eventual strategic rethink in Europe remains to be seen.
Frankly, I have no doubt.
He is.
A harbinger.
But its consistent message is hard to ignore.
Europe's current course on Ukraine is failing.
The West has miscalculated the nature of the conflict.
And unless a new approach is adopted, one that seeks peace rather than victory, the consequences for the continent could be dire.
As the war grinds on with no end in sight, from Bond's warning, Serve as a reminder that beneath the surface of unity, Europe is far from monolithic in its vision for Ukraine, and the cracks are beginning to show.

In later updates, Zelensky said that despite Ukraine declaring a symmetrical approach to Russian actions.
The trend of increasing the use of heavy weaponry by Russian forces continues.
He said, however, it was a good thing, at least, that there were no air raid sirens.
He noted some Ukrainian troops were killed in a Russian ambush Sunday in the Donetsk region and said the Russian soldier's responsible.

Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukrainian forces of overnight attacks in the Donetsk region despite the crossfire.

Russia, like Iran, Handles itself with honor, dignity, and truth.
Finally, Russia-installed officials in the partially occupied Ukrainian region of Kyrgyzstan said Ukrainian forces had also launched attacks there.

Let me just mention how gratuitous this is.
The U.S. doesn't have any control here.
I mean, the U.S. can try to be some kind of negotiator, but Russia is going to be...
Unyielding in its basic demands, which include, of course, continued possession by Russia of all the territories it has seized, period.
No NATO for Ukraine ever, period.
Demilitarization of Ukraine, period.
And perhaps most difficult to achieve, denazification of the government in Kiev.
Period. They're not going to relinquish on any of those points.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said today, the United States will walk away from efforts at negotiating peace in the Russian-Ukraine conflict if tangible results do not come soon.
Trump will abandon his Ukrainian peace push if no progress is made within a matter of days, according to Secretary of State Rubio.
We're not going to continue with this endeavor for weeks and months on end, so we need to determine very quickly whether or not this is doable in the next few weeks.
He did not state what walk away means.
But given President Trump's past remarks, it looks to many observers as though all U.S. support for Ukraine would end.
Let me add, that would be a most welcome development, the simplest way to bring it in.
Trump promised to end these stupid wars.
Here's the way to do it.
This may be then laying the groundwork for making that move.
That seems logical to many observers.
Ukraine can no longer fight if it no longer has U.S. support.
The war would end in a few months by default as Ukraine runs out of war-fighting capability.
I would say it would end within weeks, even days.
Early Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed The 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine protecting energy infrastructure has expired.
Over the past 30 days, Ukraine violated the ceasefire at least 101 times, continuing to strike Russian energy infrastructure.
Lastly, Nebenzia, Russia's UN permanent representative, said today, We had an attempt at a limited ceasefire.
Inserting energy infrastructure, which was not observed by the Ukrainian side.
Under these circumstances, it is simply unrealistic to talk about a ceasefire at this point.

U.S. offers Russia sanctions relief for peace.
But Warren Trump could move on.
The U.S. is once again pushing a Ukrainian peace proposal that would effectively freeze the war.
Importantly, with Ukrainian territories now held by Russia remaining under Moscow's control, something the Zelensky government is likely going to reject.
White House Patience is wearing thin.
Look, when you lose a war, you lose a war!
Zelensky doesn't want to admit he's lost a war.
He wants Russia to withdraw from all territories.
He wants to have Ukraine become a part of NATO.
He wants Russian compensation to rebuild Ukraine.
I mean, these are absurd claims for a nation that has lost a war.
Absurd. The Trump admin has presented allies with an outline of the potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, which, according to Bloomberg, offers to ease sanctions on Moscow if a lasting ceasefire is achieved.

U.S. officials say they're seeking to secure a ceasefire in weeks, but have warned the White House is ready to move on if it doesn't have willingness from the Kremlin.
Bloomberg described it in a Friday report.
The contours of the U.S. plan was shared during meetings Paris on Thursday.
Quite the European officials familiar with the matter.
The proposal would effectively freeze the war with Ukrainian territories now occupied by Russia remaining under Moscow's control.
Kiev's aspirations of joining NATO would also be off the table.
People declined to provide further specifics.
Sign the confidential nature of the discussions.
Paris talks included a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and U.S. envoy Steve Whitcoff, as well as discussions among Rubio and national security advisors and negotiators from France, Germany,
the U.K., and Ukraine.
Secretary of State Margot Rubio has once again put Kremlin officials on notice.
It's curious.
The U.S. is in a position of weakness, but is trying to appear to be in a position of strength.
He not only wants European allies to help move the ball toward ceasefire and resolution, but has signaled Moscow that Trump's initiative toward peace will not just linger on forever.
American patience is wearing thin, he described.

This endeavor for weeks or months on hand, we need to determine very quickly now.
I'm talking about a matter of days, whether or not this is doable in the next few weeks.
If it is, we're in.
If it's not, then we have other priorities.

Aspirations where there's no serious prospect of their realization.
This strongly suggests a very rocky road ahead, but Washington could be setting up to ceasefire talks fail to get off the ground.
Yet, on the battlefield at least, Russia has less reason to hasten to the negotiating table.
As it continues to slowly but steadily advance its holdover territory.

I dare say they're unlikely to achieve results at all.
Now this is pretty interesting.
Great diplomatic shift in Ukrainian war.
European countries are joining the negotiation process on the conflict in Ukraine on April 17th.
Paris hosted a series of high-level meetings involving U.S., EU leaders, U.K., and a Ukrainian delegation.
Key discussions included ceasefire monitoring mechanisms, the potential deployment of a multinational peacekeeping force, and future security arrangements.
Let me add, Russia's already ruled out peacekeeping forces coming into Ukraine.

Describe the talks as productive and constructive, with President Emmanuel Macron pledging to double efforts to achieve peace.
The U.S., in turn, present proposals to the negotiators called Contours of Lasting Peace.
The State Department said the proposal will receive with enthusiasm and contribute to building trust between the parties.
Ukrainian officials, according to the head of the presidential office and defense minister, held separate talks with the U.S. and the so-called Coalition of the Willing.
Amid negotiations, Trump announced the upcoming U.S.-Ukraine agreement granting American firm priority access to Ukraine's lithium, titanium, and other critical mineral deposits.
This is Trump.
Trying to turn a lemon into lemonade.
On the same day, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Minister Sergi Lavrov had a phone conversation where the Russian side expressed its readiness to continue contacts with the U.S. that insists on the need to eliminate the root causes of the crisis.
Now, mind you, that's the other two demands.
That's a demilitarization of Ukraine, and most importantly, the denazification.
To my knowledge, the U.S. has never addressed either.
Trump said he expects Russia's response to the ceasefire proposals in Ukraine in the coming weeks.
Actually, Whitcoff's recent visit to Russia was dedicated to this very issue.
Meanwhile, Moscow's U.N. envoy, Lastly, Novenza dismissed immediate ceasefire prospects, citing he has a violation of past agreement, including a short-lived moratorium on strikes against energy infrastructure.
Today marks the final day of a moratorium on strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure announced on March 18, over the past 18 months.
Moscow has largely refrained from such attacks, despite Kiev completely ignoring the agreement and launching daily strikes on Russian infrastructure, including the strategic international facilities of the Drusba Pipeline or the Caspian Pipeline Consortium,
with a moratorium set to expire if no extension is announced.
Strikes on energy's power grid at energy facilities could resume as early as 2-9.
And that was a couple nights ago.
Presumption of massive energy strikes could strain Trump's effort for de-escalation.
On the other hand, let me say, with no energy, Zelensky hasn't a prayer anyway.
But, of course, he hasn't a prayer anyway anyway.
Amid the ongoing negotiation process, Kiev is fueling hysteria on the U.S. position.
After a series of scandals, Zelensky does not stop and accuses Witkoff of adopting Russian alternatives.
That's, of course, because Witkoff is being more realistic, Zelensky not.
While diplomatic channels show tentative progress, the frontline situation remains tense.
Russia's military gains and Ukraine's dwindling manpower, remember, they've lost over a million, by the way, mostly Christian troops during the conflict, underscore the urgency of negotiations,
though mutual distrust and conflicting demands persist.
The Russian army makes it clear.
Russia's looking for peace, but not at any cost.
There are those, by the way, looking at this in the broader geopolitical framework where Zelensky declared he wanted Ukraine to be the new Israel, killing off most of the young Christian men in Ukraine could be viewed as a move in the right direction to make more space,
as it were, for Israelis, who are Ashkenazis in descent from the region, now known as Ukraine, to come in and populate a greater percentage of Jews in Ukraine.
I think this was always part of the plan.
Meanwhile, Marinov, and I think this was always part of the plan.
Israel vows to block Iran's nukes, whatever it takes.
Now, just remember for the background, the Ayatollah Khamenei has declared a fatwa on the use of nuclear weapons or even their production.
So Iran declares it has no nukes and has no interest in producing them.
Tulsi Gabbard, our Director of National Intelligence, has reported the consensus of the intelligence community, including CIA, that Iran does not have any nukes and is not attempting to produce them.
So how can it be that Trump is pursuing a policy of denying Iran A nuclear weapons program, when according to our own intel agencies, Iran has no nuclear weapons program.
If this isn't proof of Trump being an Israeli stooge, I cannot imagine what it would take.
Maybe supporting the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian people, would you find that persuasive?
Well, of course, he's doing that, too!
So give me a break.
This is awful.
We elected him to make America great again, but it appears he's expending all his efforts to promote Israel instead.
The story continues.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz declared today.
Israel will do whatever it takes to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Reaffirming a hardline stance just after reports that Trump bloke proposed Israeli strikes.
Well, if they want to do whatever it takes to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, then do nothing!
Iran isn't seeking to develop or acquire nuclear weapons.
So all it takes is to do nothing.
I remember when I first began teaching at Newt College at the University of South Florida.
It was kind of an academic paradise.
They had 400 students, 40 faculty.
We designed individual curricula.
Everyone did a thesis, no grades, narrative evaluations.
And they wanted to find out to assess my character.
So a cute girl came in wearing a prom dress to talk to me about her incomplete where she needed to do a paper and where I was in a position to,
you know, give her a grade.
And she said to me,"I'll do anything!" And you could tell she was about to pop out of her prom dress.
And I said, well, that's great!
Because all you need to do is your term paper!
It was wonderful!
Wonderful! You know, in life, now and then you get a test of your moral character.
That was a student litmus test.
They wanted to know if they could seduce the new professor.
That was a plan.
It's like Israel had to do whatever it takes.
They don't have to do anything.
The student, all she had to do was the term paper.
She was willing to do anything.
Well, I said, then, just do the term paper.
That wasn't what she was looking for.
Katz. The idea of it is working toward decisive victory in all arenas.
Katz called the mission an historic task.
Or Israel won't tolerate annihilation threats and won't wait for permission to act.

Hello. Zionist hardliners are seriously contemplating striking Iran's nuclear facilities without U.S. assistance.
It may sound foolhardy, but Zionist hardliners are beyond reason or restraint as witness the ongoing slaughter in Gaza.
However... There is another reason why we think that a unilateral Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear and our military facilities is entirely plausible.
Some months ago, English psychic Craig Hamilton Parker spoke of a vision he had of war planes striking what he thought were Iranian nuclear sites.
Though he didn't mention the extent of the damage they caused, Which could be very limited, given how Iran's underground military and nuclear facilities are constructed.
He's welcome seeing some of these warplanes being shot down.
Crucially, however, these were not U.S. warplanes.
The warplanes in Hamilton Park of Vision were Israeli.
Now, I don't happen to believe in psychics.
But of course, there are all kinds of circumstances under which someone professing to be a psychic can make a prediction based on available information that looks highly plausible.
And remember, Israel has nuclear facilities too.
So can we be having a vision of this attack on Nuclear facilities taking place in Israel?
This is not entirely implausible for Zionist hardliner to believe that by striking Iran's nuclear facilities, they could provoke a devastating...
Could be used to justify an all-encompassing U.S. strike on Iran and, hey, presto, the Zionist dream accomplished.
So tens of thousands of Israelis may die in the process.

That no one is capable of disproving other than by asserting contrary alternative beliefs that they believe are the true beliefs contrary to the Israeli.
So, I mean, this is a quandary in why I think religions believe in God, the whole bit being articles of faith, which, by the way, no one denies.
There's no minister, rabbi, priest who's going to deny that belief in God is incapable of scientific or empirical investigation and affirmation, proof or disproof.
All agree it's an article of faith.
You believe in spite of the absence of proof.
Or even in the face of what some consider to be disproof, namely the existence of evil in the world, arguing that if God were an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-compassionate, all-good entity, then why would God allow pestilence,
famine, wars, catastrophes to take place?
And of course, they're going to argue, well, God just...
Set man free and let him make his own decision based on his own preferences, which is commonly referred to as free will.
And there's nothing a-causal about free will, meaning free will means acting on your own beliefs, with your own motives, with your own abilities, capabilities, and ethics to achieve your goals.
